An ongoing series of ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' FanFics written by Aaron12 (aka Aaron Kuzik).

The series takes place following the GrandFinale of the cartoon. Danny's life has [[NothingIsTheSameAnymore undergone many changes]] following the events of "WesternAnimation/PhantomPlanet", with his entire family now aware of his powers, his best friend Tucker Foley being Amity Park's new mayor, [[RivalsTeamUp former rival Valerie Gray now an ally]], and, of course, his RelationshipUpgrade with Sam Manson. However, after the return of [[FanNickname Dan Phantom]], Danny's [[EvilMeScaresMe evil]] [[BadFuture alternate future]] [[WesternAnimation/TheUltimateEnemy self]], and a run-in with two mysterious ghosts [[spoiler:who turn out to be Danny and Sam's future selves]], Sam's life is changed forever when she becomes Danny's new partner as Sam Tasma after obtaining ghost powers of her own. Together, they go through the hardships of being a superhero team and two teens in love. Along the way, they discover that Danny has tapped into a new, powerful form that's as dangerous to him as to his enemies, as well as [[spoiler:a mysterious connection Danny and Sam possess that goes back to all their [[SpeakInUnison 'unison' moments]]]].

The series is very well-written and pulls together many different storylines as well as [[CanonFodder clearing up a lot of the inconsistencies that occurred throughout the cartoon]]. It has gathered a following of fans who enjoy the action, comedy, and romance it presents. The stories can be found [[http://www.fanfiction.net/u/95114/Aaron12 here]]. The author has also drawn pics to complement the stories which can be found on [[http://tuxedaaron.deviantart.com/ [=DeviantArt=]]]

!!This series provides examples of:

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:A-C]]
* AccidentalKiss: In ''Royal Occupation'', [[spoiler:Tucker accidentally kissed a brainwashed Jazz when he tried to block her view. Fortunately, it helped to undo his froggy transformation. Also, as a ContinuityNod to the cartoon, Tucker mumbled about the one with Sam.]]

* ActuallyADoombot: [[spoiler: Vlad is revealed as one]] in ''A Family Thing'' with the real deal long gone.
** He also did this during the climatic battle of the first story of the series.
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: In ''A Family Thing'', [[spoiler:this is Tucker's reaction to Danny and Sam accidentally getting sucked into the Fenton Ghost Weasel, much to their chagrin. They get a laugh of their own when Jack accidentally shoots Tucker with the Fenton Foamer]].
** This was [[spoiler:Future Danny's]] reaction to Jack, Maddie, and Jazz getting trapped in Jack's Ecto Bondo.
** Danny couldn't help but find it amusing that Sam smelled like barbecue sauce after a battle with the Lunch Lady.
* ADayInTheLimelight: [[spoiler:Danielle]] in ''Junior Hijinks''.
** Tucker in ''Ancient History''.

* AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: In the first story of the series, [=FentonWorks=] and Tucker's bunker under City Hall are attacked. [[spoiler:In a rare instance of this trope, it was Future Danny and Sam who attacked]].
** In ''Pairing Off'', Tucker's bunker was once again invaded. This time by [=SkulkTech=].
* AlliterativeTitle: Two of them. ''Facing The Future'' and ''Bad Breakup''.
* AmazonChaser: Danny finds Sam's ghost strength pretty hot.
** WordOfGod is that it's based on [[LikeFatherLikeSon Jack saying "Man, that's hot!" whenever Maddie goes into "Warrior" mode]].
* AmnesiacLover:[[spoiler:Danny and Sam end up like this when Nocturne traps them in a dream world where they have no memory of each other. However, they manage to fall back in love with each other even before they regain their memories]].
* AndThenWhat: In ''Strength In Numbers'', Danny's enemies honestly hadn't come up with a plan for what to do if (and when) they finally caught him.
-->'''Danny''': ''(sarcastically)'' Well, isn't this an amusing little development?
* ArbitrarySkepticism: During her conversation with Desiree in ''What She Wants'', Jazz finds it hard to believe that in life, Desiree discovered an Ifrit, even though she's ''talking to a ghost''.
* ArcWelding: [[spoiler:Vlad was behind Vortex and Nocturne attacking]] in ''Hearts and Minds''.
* ArtifactOfDoom: The [[spoiler:Scepter of Fay, which makes anyone who possesses an Amulet of Aragon all powerful]].
** There's also [[spoiler:the return of the Scarab Scepter of King Duulaman]].
* AscendedExtra:[[spoiler:In the cartoon, Tucker's ghost half created by Desiree was just seen as something disposable like the rest of Desiree's creations, but here, he has become a villain in his own right]].
* AsYouKnow: [[spoiler:Danny and Tucker obviously told Sam everything about the time Tucker accidentally wished for ghost powers while she had a cold]].
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: In ''Pairing Off'' [[spoiler:Technus is in the process of telling Skulker that they just can't grab anything that gets their attention for their plan when something catches his eye. He even says the last two words of the trope]].
* {{Backstory}}: The series expands on Desiree's backstory and why she decided to twist the wishes she granted.
** The series also gives one to the remains of Freakshow's circus trope that explains their life before Freakshow took control of them and what happened to them following the events of the episode "Control Freaks".
* BackToBackBadasses: Danny and Sam, constantly.
* BadassBiker: In the first story, [[spoiler:Future Sam]] shows to be one by creating a motorcycle [[spoiler: entirely of ''fire!'']]
** As a CallBack [[spoiler:or a CallForward, depending on how you look at it]], Sam makes a motorcycle herself in ''Pairing Off''.
** This trope also applies to [[spoiler:the mysterious "G"]].
* BadassCrew: Team Phantom now consists of [[TheHero Danny]], [[ActionGirlfriend Sam]], [[MissionControl Tucker]], [[BadassFamily Jazz, Jack, Maddie]], [[RivalsTeamUp Valerie]], [[spoiler:and newly recruited [[OppositeSexClone Danielle]] and [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent Wulf]]]].
* BadassFamily: The Fentons, now more than ever now that they're all on the same page.
* {{Badly Battered Babysitter}}s: This happened to Tucker and the Fentons [[spoiler:when Danny and Sam were reverted into five year olds. According to Jazz, this happened the first time when Danny was five, ''without'' ghost powers]].
* BaitAndSwitch: In ''Stolen Years'', it at first looked like the Fenton Ghost Guzzler was going to successfully suck up energy of Jack's test subjects, only for it to instead suck up ''electrical'' power.
* BalefulPolymorph: In ''Royal Occupation'' [[spoiler:while everyone else (except for Danny and Sam) were brainwashed into Aragon's subjects, poor Tucker was transformed into a [[FrogsAndToads frog]]]].
* BatmanColdOpen: ''A Family Thing'' starts off with Danny and Sam fighting a ghost bee, [[spoiler:followed by them having an accident with the Fenton Ghost Weasel]].
* BatmanGambit: In his typical manner, Clockwork pulled one of these [[spoiler:by bringing in Future Danny and Sam to recapture Dan]], thus leading to Sam getting her ghost powers.
* BattleButler: In ''Strength In Numbers'', Tucker's chauffeur attempted to help Danny fight off the ghosts that ambushed him, [[NegatedMomentOfAwesome only to be soundly defeated]].
* BattleCouple: Danny and Sam.
** Also Jack and Maddie, as usual.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: As in the cartoon, this is Desiree's shtick [[spoiler:at least until she meets Sydney Poindexter]].
** [[spoiler:This also applies to when Maddie started wishing for Danny's childhood again in ''Stolen Years'']].
* [[spoiler:BecauseDestinySaysSo: When Sam learns that her future self is half ghost, she decides to use this trope as a reason to get ghost powers of her own. [[StableTimeLoop Turns out that it was the same thing that led to Future Sam getting her powers]]]].
* BeforeIChangeMyMind: When Sam was about to go through with her plan to get her ghost powers, Jazz arrived and gave an argument against it. However, when Jazz saw that Sam was doing this mostly to help Danny, she turned her back and said the trope name.
* BerserkButton: Too many to name. In fact, somebody manages to push someone else's button at least once every story.
* BerserkerTears: [[spoiler:Danny and Sam, when they nearly tore Nocturne apart for him [[RelationshipSabotage sealing away their memories of each other]].]]
* BeyondTheImpossible: [[spoiler:Danny's alternate ghost form is so powerful, it enables him to bust out of Vlad's [[PowerNullifier spectral energy neutralizer]]]].
* BigBlackout: One of Jack's experiments resulted in this, much to the annoyance of Danny and the neighbors.
** Then later, it helped the heroes when it [[spoiler: was used to suck up all the power from the Guys In White's headquarters]].
* [[spoiler:BigBrotherInstinct: Danny to Danielle, even moreso than in the cartoon, especially since she is now HappilyAdopted into the Fenton family, making her an actual little sister. This was shown big time in ''Stolen Years'', where, after the Guys In White kidnapped Danielle, Danny tore through an entire group of them. Jazz finds that she likes seeing Danny going through this phase]].
* BigDamnHeroes: Sam [[spoiler:and Danielle]] led the denizens of the Far Frozen against the ghosts who captured Danny in ''Strength In Numbers''.
* BigDamnKiss: Occurred in ''Hearts and Minds'' with Danny and Sam [[spoiler:after they declared their love for each other]].
* BigNo: In ''Trial By Fire'', Sam yelled out this [[spoiler:after regaining the memories of what she had done when being controlled by Undergrowth in "Urban Jungle"]], along with which she unleashed a WorldWreckingWave of flame.
** In ''Hearts and Minds'', Nocturne yelled one [[spoiler:when Danny and Sam were about to regain their memories of each other]].
* BondVillainStupidity: Technus thought that he was being clever to distract Danny, Sam, and Tucker while [[spoiler:he took control of the cybertron satellite again]], but failed to keep an eye on his uplink which Valerie [[spoiler:and Skulker]] sabotaged. As Tucker pointed out "If you wish to multi-task, you must learn how to split your focus".
* BoringButPractical: [[spoiler:Sidney Poindexter's]] solution to Desiree's handicap of having to grant all wishes, even those of her opponents? Noise-cancelling headphones.
* [[BreatherEpisode Breather Fic]]: ''Strength In Numbers'', ''Pairing Off'', and ''What She Wants''.
* BrickJoke: In ''What She Wants'', Tucker mentions a phone app that has a profile on every ghost they know to Valerie. Later in the story, Jazz reveals she has it.
* BringIt: In ''Hearts and Minds'' Danny and Sam, who don't remember each other, think the other is an enemy and get into a fight, during which, Danny uses the gesture to lure Sam into a trap.
* BrownNote: Jack invented the Fenton Specter Shrieker as a device that emits a painful sound only ghosts could hear. [[ReversePolarity He got it backwards and ghosts were the only ones who]] ''[[ReversePolarity couldn't]]'' [[ReversePolarity hear it]].
* CallBack: In the cartoon, Danny once said he was a whiz at dodge ball. [[spoiler:Being his clone, Danielle apparently is too. Though WordOfGod is that unlike Danny's skills which are instinctive, she honed her skills through her ghost battles.]]
** The series also remembers that Valerie's new armor was created by Technus, which unfortunately enabled him to deactivate it to her confusion while he mockingly pointed out where she thought it came from.
** Danny also made one to the time Spectra infected everyone with ghost mosquitoes when he and Sam fought a giant ghost bee.
** In ''Pairing Off'', when Tucker and Technus square off, Technus mentions the last time they fought in "Teacher of the Year", and the numerous defeats Tucker received.
* CannotSpitItOut: Danny and Sam initially had this problem [[spoiler:when they confessed their true feelings for each other]].
* CantGetAwayWithNuthin: [[spoiler:In ''Junior Hijinks'', Danielle learned the lesson Danny did about using her powers to get back at people she didn't like when she ends up dealing with the Masters' Blasters, followed by her having to deal with her parents]].
* CassandraTruth: After his encounter with Sam at the end of the first story, Box Ghost told the other ghosts that she now had ghost powers, but they didn't believe him...at least until they saw it for themselves.
* CasualDangerDialog: In ''Pairing Off'', Danny and Sam have a pleasant conversation while in the middle of battles with Technus and Skulker respectively.
* CatchphraseInterruptus: When Danny and Sam were about to transform to deal with what they thought was a killer robot, they yelled out "We're going..." only to stop and yell "Tucker?!" when they realized who was controlling the robot.
* CatchphraseSpoutingDuo: Ever since Sam became his partner, Danny has shared his 'Going Ghost!' line with her.
* TheCavalry: In ''Laws of Attraction'', the Fentons, Tucker, Valerie, Wulf, and [[spoiler:Elastica]] pull this when Danny and Sam are up against Walker and his forces.
* CharacterDevelopment: In addition to not derailing the development the characters have gone through in the cartoon, the series adds more to it, as well as providing some to new members of the main cast like [[spoiler:Danielle]] as well as secondary characters like [[spoiler: Desiree and Sidney Poindexter]].
* ChekhovsGun: The Fenton [[spoiler:Spectral Shrieker and Ghost Guzzler]] at first seemed like faulty experiments, [[spoiler: but then they helped Danny and the others storm the Guys In White's headquarters]].
** Also, the pair of gloves that shocked Danny towards the beginning of the first story of the series played a big role in its climax.
** The ectoranium that Jack and Maddie were experimenting with in ''Royal Occupation'' came in handy to help defeat Aragon at the climax.
* ChestInsignia: Inverted. When Sam finally gets her own logo, it's on the back of her coat. Danny and Tucker point out the impracticalness of it being there, but Sam doesn't care.
* CombinationAttack: Danny and Sam have a tendency to combine their powers to deliver more damage to their opponents.
* ComesGreatResponsibility: [[spoiler:Danielle learns Danny's lesson about using ghost powers to get back at bullies in a tougher manner than he did, (especially because she has to face her parents for it). Danny even lampshades that she should've come to him on the matter]].
* TheCommissionerGordon: Tucker plays this role to Team Phantom as the mayor of Amity Park, uses his political power to sweep some of Team Phantom's activities under the rug, as well as protect their reputation.
* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike: In ''Laws of Attraction'', [[spoiler: Paulina allowed herself to be captured by Walker's forces so that she could be rescued by Danny Phantom and hopefully, start a relationship with him. Naturally, she wasn't happy when Sam Tasma was the one to come]].
* ConflictingLoyalty: Danny went through a moment of this in ''Trial By Fire'' when it came to finding and helping a 'scared out of her mind' Sam who couldn't control her new [[PlayingWithFire fire powers]] or protecting the city from Undergrowth. Fortunately, the rest of Team Phantom encouraged him to go after Sam while they held down the fort.
* ConquerorFromTheFuture: Not so much a conqueror, but it was clear that Dark Danny intended to recreate the devastated world he came from in the present [[spoiler:if not for the intervention of Future Danny and Sam]].
* ContinuityCavalcade: ''Hearts and Minds'' is full of these as [[spoiler:amnesiac Danny and Sam had memory flashes dealing with their relationship every time they came into contact]].
* ContinuityNod: One of the things that makes the series good is that it follows continuity as much as the cartoon, mentioning things from the television show as well as events that take place within itself.
* CoveredInGunge: During a fight with a ghost bee in ''A Family Thing'', Danny and Sam get covered in ecto honey. [[spoiler:Jack's attempt to clean them up puts them in a very tight spot]].
** In the same story, Jack constantly shot someone with the Fenton Foamer by accident.
* CrazyPrepared: Tucker brought hacking equipment and tools on the mission to [[spoiler:rescue Dani from the Guys in White on the off chance he got to use it on one of their main database hookups. He got to, deleting all files on Danny, Dani, and Sam]].
* CurbStompBattle: Whereas Vlad Plasmius used to deliver these in the cartoon, he's now on the receiving end from a number of characters that are too many to count.
* CurseCutShort: Being very edgy for a fanfic based off a show on Nickelodeon, [[spoiler:Future Danny]] started to say to [[spoiler:Dark Danny "You son of a...",]] only for [[spoiler:Dark Danny]] to stop him short [[spoiler:and remind him who that insult would be directed at]].
* CurseEscapeClause: [[spoiler:Being GenreSavvy to Aragon's penchant for everything Dark Age, Tucker believed that his frog curse could be broken by a kiss from a maiden. Turns out, he was right when he wound up accidentally kissing Jazz]].
** Desiree's wish-granting-compulsion was given to her by a genie during her life and can only be cured by meeting her one true love, and from then on she only has to grant his wishes. [[spoiler: It's Sidney Poindexter.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:D-G]]
* DeepSleep: This was Nocturne's ultimate plan [[spoiler:for Danny and Sam in ''Hearts and Minds'']].
* DefensiveWhat: Jack said this when Danny looked at him [[spoiler:after coming up with the idea to use his inventions to save Danielle from the Guys in White]].
* DespairEventHorizon: Sam was on the verge of one when her new fire powers were growing out of control and causing her to destroy everything she touched. Fortunately, [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming Danny managed to pull her back with a touching speech]].
* DidntSeeThatComing: Because Skulker and Technus only became [=SkulkTech=] in Dark Danny's timeline, Danny, Sam, and Tucker didn't expect them to join forces in the current timeline. Valerie still lampshades that it was something they should've anticipated.
* DidNotThinkThisThrough: Even Vlad admits that his first attempts to regain his glory looked better on paper and were rather ham fisted when he didn't take into account the {{Curb Stomp Battle}}s he endured.
* DiggingYourselfDeeper: Subverted by Danny. Whenever he makes comments about other girls that makes Sam jealous, he follows up a nice recovery.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Jack, as much as in the cartoon. Not only did he go the wrong way on a one way street, but he went off road right before there was a turn off.
* DrowningMySorrows: Non-alcoholic version. In order to get over Sam being out of town, Danny ate at a buffet. Unfortunately, Desiree put a spell on the food that made him keep eating until his stomach was bursting.
* EasyComeEasyGo: After an April Fool's joke ended up embarrassing him, Poindexter ended up as a ButtMonkey again at his ghost school. [[spoiler:Fortunately, it gets better for him when he becomes the school's ''principal'']].
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: Sam, who at first only fought ghosts using Fenton weapons, now has powers like Danny, making her just as dangerous to ghosts as him.
* EnemyMine: [[spoiler:In ''Pairing Off'', Ember temporarily worked with Danny and Sam in order to save her boyfriend Skulker]].
* EnemyWithout: [[spoiler:Ghost Tucker]].
* EnergyAbsorption: In the first story of the series, Vlad modified a pair of gloves that were designed to [[HarmfulToTouch hurt ghosts that touched them]] to absorb energy from them. Fortunately, Danny and Sam destroy them before the first story ended.
** This was also the attempt of one of Jack's inventions. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, it ended up absorbing electrical energy instead]].
* EngineeredHeroics: According to the series' point of view, the Masters' Blasters capture of Aragon in "Phantom Planet" was part of a deal with Vlad in exchange for the return of his amulet.
* EpicFail: In ''Stolen Years'', Jack attempted to [[spoiler:build a device that emitted a sound that only ghosts could hear, but got it backwards and made it a sound that humans could hear but ghost couldn't. Then, he built a device to suck the power out of ghosts, but it ended up sucking ''electrical'' power]].
** Inverted later in the same story when [[spoiler: the failed inventions helped Team Phantom's mission to save Danielle from the Guys In White]].
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: The [=GIW=]'s MadDoctor is codenamed 'Doctor'. [[spoiler:Danielle isn't impressed]].
* EvilIsNotAToy: Clockwork [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] Vlad's tendency to mess with power beyond his comprehension in his desire to rule in his ReasonYouSuckSpeech. In fact Clockwork says this when Vlad tries to ''steal'' his control of time. It's subverted here since Clockwork [[CurbstompBattle hands him his ass]] before he can do any damage.
* EvilMeScaresMe: According to Danny, whenever he has a bad night, Dan Phantom haunts his dreams, so his return didn't help much.
* EvilVersusEvil: Dan Phantom vs Vlad Plasmius, a match-up that every [=DP=] fan dreams of occurred in the first story of the series. [[spoiler:Naturally, Dan wins]].
* ExactEavesdropping: Invoked by Danny and Sam by faking a break up so that the ghosts trying to break them up would leave them alone. While Technus thinks it's convenient, Spectra doesn't buy it at first.
* ExplainExplainOhCrap: In ''Bad Breakup'', Danny and Sam were trying to figure out what the ghosts were up to when this line came up:
-->"Man, it's like they were trying to break you guys up or something".
* FakeOutMakeOut: Inverted. Danny and Sam used this to escape the Guys In White, but as Sam put it, there was nothing "fake" about it.
* ForHalloweenIAmGoingAsMyself: Invoked by Tucker in ''Royal Occupation'' when he said he wished Danny and Sam had done this instead of [[spoiler:Sam dressing as Danny and [[ScrewYourself making out with him]]]].
** WordOfGod is that the author avoided this because he'd seen YourCostumeNeedsWork too often.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In ''Pairing Off'', during a battle between Danny and Technus, Technus says everyone could benefit from an upgrade. [[spoiler: That is precisely what happens to Skulker after Technus upgrades his suit]].
** According to the author, it wasn't intentional.
** Another moment in the same story occurs when Paulina feels jealous that Sam has a boyfriend while she's dateless. [[spoiler: This culminates in ''Laws of Attraction'' where, after Danny and Sam are inadvertently named Casper High's hottest couple, she attempts to make Danny Phantom her boyfriend to overshadow them]].
** Another instant that's appearing throughout the series is ghosts noticing something special about Danny and Sam [[spoiler:which seems to have something to do with their new link]].
* ForgotAboutHisPowers: After making herself and Danny intangible to avoid a barrage of ghost rays, Sam finally [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] on Danny always allowing things to hit him.
* FountainOfYouth: In ''Stolen Years'', [[spoiler: a run-in with the Guys In White and an experimental weapon causes Danny and Sam to change into five year olds physically and mentally]].
** WordOfGod is that it's a ShoutOut to ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration'' episode "Rascals".
* FreeingTheGenie: In ''What She Wants'', [[spoiler:Desiree is freed from her curse that makes her grant every wish she hears, thanks to Poindexter]].
* [[spoiler: FutureBadass: Future Danny and Sam are so {{badass}}, they can hold their own against Dan]].
* GenderedOutfit: Sam's ghost costume is actually one of the jumpsuits that Danny wore when he got his powers except with the neckline and boots replaced with a choker and army boots, most of the gloves cut away except the middle finger, [[BareYourMidriff the entire midriff cut away]], and topped off with a coat with laced sleeves. Justified that Sam used one of Danny's suits because they're the same size, though at the same time, Sam gets sort of a guilty thrill about wearing something of her boyfriend's.
* GenreSavvy: In ''Pairing Off'', Danny and Sam weren't surprised that Skulker and Ember were about to attack them and quickly freeze them.
** Jazz was also this when she used Desiree's wishing powers against her in ''What She Wants''.
** Nocturne also showed shades of this when [[spoiler:targeted Danny and Sam before attempting another takeover of Amity Park]].
** Seeing that humans were intangible inside his prison, Walker constructed a wing of cells to hold humans. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, he didn't know about Sam's new powers]].
* GetOut: Danny and Sam yelled this to Nocturne [[spoiler:when they forced him out of their subconscious]].
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: Two instances. The CurseCutShort mentioned above and a subtle scene of Danny puking his guts out in ''Strength In Numbers''.
* GirlPosse: Victoria, the rich snob at Elm Street Middle School has one consisting of two girls that [[spoiler:Danielle]] simply refers to as Friend One and Friend Two.
* [[spoiler:GiveGeeksAChance: In one of the biggest shocks of the series, Desiree ending up together with Sidney Poindexter. Tucker even lampshades the trope and wonders why it can't happen to him]].
* GodzillaThreshold: Dark Danny's return counts as this. Since he and Danny are no longer connected, nothing would keep Dark Danny from holding back against Danny, meaning he couldn't win again, so not only did [[spoiler:Clockwork bring in Danny and Sam's future selves]], but Sam decided to get herself ghost powers to help him out.
** It's hinted that it's these situations that trigger Danny's feral SuperMode.
* GreenEyedMonster [[spoiler: Ghost Tucker]] who is enraged by Sam getting ghost powers.
* GuineaPigFamily: While Jack won't tear Danny apart molecule by molecule now that he knows his secret, he doesn't mind having Danny ''assist'' him in testing out new ghost weapons, much to Maddie and Jazz's objection.
* GluttonyMontage: Danny goes through one that lasts ''two hours'' in ''Strength In Numbers''. Justified that he couldn't control himself as Desiree had cast a spell on the food that made him eat.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:H-L]]
* [[HalloweenEpisode Halloween Fic]]: ''Royal Occupation''.
* [[spoiler: HappilyAdopted: Towards the end of ''A Family Thing'', the series takes one of its biggest developments when the Fentons adopt Danielle after learning about her existence]].
* HarmfulToTouch: In the first story, Jack and Maddie had developed a pair of gloves capable of shocking a ghost with its own ecto energy. Vlad later modified them for his own use.
** We also have ectoranium, which is as harmful as ever for ghosts to touch. [[spoiler:It came in handy during the final battle with Aragon in ''Royal Occupation'']].
* HeadbuttOfLove: Danny and Sam tend to do this often.
* [[spoiler:HeelFaceTurn: Desiree, courtesy of Poindexter]].
* [[spoiler:HelpYourselfInTheFuture: Future Danny and Sam are brought in by Clockwork to help stop Dark Danny when he escapes since Danny would be unable to do it a second time]].
* HeroicWillPower: Done twice in ''Trial By Fire''. First was when [[spoiler: Undergrowth]] attempted to seize control of [[spoiler:Sam again, she accidentally released [[WorldWreckingWave a gigantic surge of fire]]]], then when he tried again [[spoiler: she gained full control of her flame powers and broke free]].
* HeyYouHaymaker: While fighting a giant ghost bee, Sam tapped on its thorax with a ghost construct hand before flicking it away after it turned around.
* [[HoistByHisOwnPetard Hoist By Their Own Petard]]: In ''Junior Hijinks'', snobby Victoria and her posse fall victim to their own pranks [[spoiler:thanks to Danielle]].
* HowDoIShootWeb: When Sam initially got her ghost powers, she thought that it would be a snap considering she'd seen Danny do it hundreds of times, only to find out that she had the same trouble controlling them that he did at first. This carried over when she got her [[PlayingWithFire fire powers]].
* HowMuchMoreCanHeTake: During the battle with Dark Danny, everyone was surprised that Danny's recently unlocked SuperMode wasn't enough to keep him down, with Valerie lampshading.
* HowTheMightyHaveFallen: Said word-for-word by Vlad to [[spoiler:Aragon]] in ''Royal Occupation'', though it's kind of the pot calling the kettle black when you think about it.
* HumongousMecha: In order to attend school while at the same time, carry out his new mayoral duties, Tucker built a seven foot tall robot with [[TVHeadRobot a video screen in its chest]]. [[SuperPoweredRobotMeterMaid It's also been outfitted with weapons to help fight ghosts]].
* HyperDestructiveBouncingBall: Jack creates a bazooka called Ecto-Bondo that fires one of these. However, it's one of those cases of GoneHorriblyRight.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Sam calls [[spoiler:Undergrowth]] out on this, saying he's just as greedy as he says mankind is, always taking, not caring for anything other than himself.
** Later Danny points out Walker's ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem policy, and calls him the biggest hypocrite he's EVER met.
* HypocriticalHumor: In the cartoon, Sam got on Danny for whenever he used his powers for his own purposes, but she didn't mind using her new powers for her causes, demonstrations, and protests, at least until Danny made her stop.
* ICantHearYou: In one scene of ''Laws of Attraction'', two of Walker's guards were putting up with Paulina's constant racket.
-->'''First guard''': "Unnh! That's it! I'm putting in a request to get this brat in suspended animation!"
-->'''Second guard''': ''(With his hands over his ears)'' What?!
* IDontThinkThatsSuchAGoodIdea: This is basically what Jazz said to Sam about her plan to get ghost powers. It didn't stop her.
* [[YouDontWantToKnow I Don't Want To Know]]: This is Danny and Tucker's reaction when Sam hints that the first time she overshadowed with Danny around was not the first time she did it.
** Tucker also said this about how bad Danny's {{Amazon Chaser}}ness for Sam went.
** When Tucker asked what wish Desiree twisted to create [[OurGnomesAreWeirder haunted garden gnomes]], she replied with this trope.
* [[spoiler: IHatePastMe: While he doesn't hate him, Future Danny doesn't like that present Danny doesn't think before acting]].
* [[IfYouTauntHimYouWillBeJustLikeHim If You Taunt Her, You Will Be Just Like Her]]: After Sam made a comment regarding the fact that she has a boyfriend while Paulina doesn't to irk her, Danny warns her that if she keeps that up, she could end up like Paulina, much to Sam's horror.
* IllPretendIDidntHearThat: When Sam leaves Danny to carry a heavy load of Fenton tech, Danny calls her a credit to the female gender, to which Sam responded with this trope.
* ImaginationBasedSuperpower: While she can't shoot {{Hand Blast}}s like Danny, Sam can generate ecto strands which can be molded into nearly any construct she can imagine, similar to [[ComicBook/GreenLantern a certain comic book hero]], which was intentional by the author.
** According to WordOfGod, the reason Sam's main powers are different than Danny's is because the Fenton Portal she used to get her powers was a different version then the one that gave Danny his as it was rebuilt following the events of the GrandFinale of the cartoon. Also, the reason he chose to give her different powers was because he wanted to give Sam a different route in mastering her powers than Danny so it wouldn't be dull.
* ImmediateSelfContradiction: After Jack tells the Masters' Blasters that ghost hunting isn't about shameless self promotion, he asks Maddie for a drink, to which she asks if he wants Fentonade or Fenton-Up.
-->'''Jack''': [[CrowningMomentOfFunny Surprise me]].
* InCaseYouForgotWhoWroteIt: The author always puts "By Aaron" behind the titles of his stories.
* IsItAlwaysLikeThis: After Jack's experiment in ''Stolen Years'' causes half the city to lose power, resulting in a huge mob forming on the Fentons' doorstep, we get this exchange:
-->'''[[spoiler: Danielle]]''': "Uh, is this something I'm going to be seeing a lot of?"
-->'''Jazz''': ''(disapprovingly)'' "Trust me, you don't even know".
* JerkassHasAPoint: When Technus gives Danny and Sam the options to stop him or save a runaway bus in ''Pairing Off'', he points out that it's obvious they'll go after the bus. Danny even admits it, to his disdain.
** In ''Laws of Attraction'', Danny reluctantly admits that some of Walker's prisoners actually ''do'' belong locked up.
* KidDetective: Mike Harris, a boy at Elm Street Middle School fulfills this trope as he likes to investigate strange things going on at school. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, he seems to be on the trail of Danielle's secret]].
* KindaBusyHere: Before Sam got her ghost powers, Danny's ghost fighting duties continuously interrupted their dates. It seemed like the first clue as to what would happen to Sam.

* LeaveTheTwoLovebirdsAlone: This is Jazz's moral when it comes to Danny and Sam's romance.

* {{Lockdown}}: Whenever Jack and Maddie experiment with ectoranium that was left behind after the Disasteroid incident, Danny and Sam [[spoiler:and Danielle]] find themselves quarantined in clear boxes, much to Danny's annoyance.
* LoveAtFirstSight: [[spoiler:When Poindexter first saw Desiree, he thought she was the beautiful woman he'd ever seen. It led to him helping her with her wish-granting handicap and eventually, freed her from her curse]].
* [[spoiler:LoveConfession: Danny and Sam in ''Hearts and Minds''. Naturally, it was a SpeakInUnison moment.]]
* LoveIsAWeakness: This is what Walker thought as he kidnapped Sam to get Danny to do what he wanted. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, he wasn't current about Sam's new half ghost status like the rest of the ghosts]].
* [[spoiler:LoveRedeems: This is how Poindexter changes Desiree]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:M-P]]
* [[spoiler:MagicalGirlfriend: Desiree becomes this to Poindexter at the end of ''What She Wants'']].
* MamaBear: Maddie. She flips on [[spoiler:Vlad]] in ''A Family Thing'' and beats [[spoiler:him, or rather, a clone of him]] up.
* TheManBehindTheMan: [[spoiler:Vlad]] starts to take on this role, being behind the events of several stories.
* MeaningfulEcho: [[spoiler:When Ghost Tucker was being conned by Hotep-Ra, he said the exact same things Tucker said when he fell for it]].
* MessOfWoe: When Sam was out of town, Danny ''really'' got depressed, to the point of being a mess. Desiree and a bunch of ghosts took advantage of this.
* MindControlDevice: [[spoiler:Vlad]] creates one [[spoiler:based off the technology of Nocturne's dream helmets]].
* MindlinkMates: Similar to the PsychicLink they were [[WhatCouldHaveBeen originally suppose to have in the cartoon]], [[MythologyGag Danny and Sam have developed a connection that allows them to sense each others emotions and even where they are]].
* MissionControl: This is what Tucker's role on the team has become according to WordOfGod.
* MobileMaze: During Danny's third visit to Walker's jail, he discovers the passageways change, making it difficult to find his way around it. [[spoiler:It's only through the special link he and Sam have that they're able to find each other]].
* MomentKiller: There has been one or two times when Tucker ruined a romantic moment for Danny and Sam.
** Jack accidentally did this by accidentally releasing a bunch of ghosts on the city while Danny and Sam were taking advantage of being in the dark.
* MundaneSolution: In ''What She Wants'', Jazz figures a quick way to beat Desiree during a fight with Danny and Sam: ''Make a wish that she couldn't attack them.'' It's Lampshaded when Jazz won't stop giving Danny grief about it.
* [[spoiler: MyFutureSelfAndMe: Two of these to be exact. When Dan Phantom escapes, Clockwork brings in Danny's actual future self and his partner, Sam, to capture him.]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Sam has two moments of this in ''Trial By Fire''. First when she regains her memories of what she did while under Undergrowth's control. Then again when she realizes she inadvertently hurt Danny with her new fire powers.
* MySignificanceSenseIsTingling: A throwaway joke, but Danny commented that his 'Father Sense' was tingling when Jack caused a citywide blackout.
* MysteriousPast: Played with. When Jack reveals he can speak Esperanto, much to Jazz's shock, he says "[[WesternAnimation/FairlyOddParents I have a whole secret life you know]] ''[[WesternAnimation/FairlyOddParents nothing]]'' [[WesternAnimation/FairlyOddParents about]]".
* MysteriousWatcher: [[spoiler:The series has introduced a mysterious, new character who calls himself "G". He is powerful enough to beat the Masters' Blasters and also seems to be league a mysterious organization who have ordered him to keep an eye on Danny.]].
* MythArc: The series has three arcs going on at the moment: [[spoiler:Vlad sending ghosts after Danny for a strange reason, a new mystery character called 'G', and a mysterious link that Danny and Sam share]].
* NamingConventions: To avoid the '[[FailOSuckyName Inviso-Bill]]' incident that Danny went through, Sam decided to create her own super hero name. After trying and rejecting a few, she settled on the name Sam Tasma.
** WordOfGod is that the names Sam thought up and rejected were [[RealLifeWritesThePlot the same ones he tried and rejected for the same reasons]].
* NeverRecycleYourSchemes: Averted with [[spoiler:Technus, who tried again to gain control of the Cybertron computer. In his words "A good idea is a good idea". Of course, since Danny and the others couldn't stop him this time if he succeeded, it makes sense]].
** [[spoiler:Also averted with Hotep-Ra, whose scheme of transforming all of Amity Park into an Egyptian kingdom was just a rehash of his last attempt. However, the other stated that the reason for this was for revenge on Tucker]].
* [[NiceGuy Nice Girl]]: Jane Parker, [[spoiler: Danielle]]'s friend. Her obsession with ghosts aside, she invites ''everybody'' to her party, even the school's AlphaBitch. Her reason: "I don't want to be rude".
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: [[spoiler:Future Danny and Sam]] are about to trap Dan when Tucker and Valerie who were trying to help bring along a device which Dan uses to trap [[spoiler:Future Danny and Sam]].
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Bradley Milton.
* NoNameGiven: Averted. The series reveals the names of the Groovy Gang (Fran and Andy) and Extreme Ghost Breakers (Brenner and Sullivan), as well as the names of the other members of Freakshow's circus trope besides Lydia (Goliath, Elasitca, and Green Kid).
* NoodleIncident: What happened during Danny's ''first'' two hour eating binge. Apparently Sam finds it funny now while Danny hasn't gotten over it.
** There's also the incidents Sam caused with her ghost powers with one at the steakhouse involving a dancing side of meat and another involving the animals in the biology lab that was so bad that the janitor was afraid to clean the science section alone for weeks.
*** Sam also hints that she's been using her overshadow ability in the past without Danny knowing, but Danny and Tucker don't want the details.
** Another hint that the Fentons are visited by angry mobs frequently is that Jack commented that their formations are getting faster.
* NowYouTellMe: Maddie calls out to warn Danny about a pair of anti-ghost gauntlets ''after'' they shock him.
* OfficialCouple: Danny and Sam.
** [[spoiler:Surprisingly, there's also Poindexter and Desiree]].
* OhCrap: Too many instances to list.
* OhNoNotAgain: Sam's reaction to Danny's ''[[NoodleIncident second]]'' two hour eating binge.
* OneTrueLove: [[spoiler:Finding her's was the only way for Desiree to get out of her curse to grant every wish she hears. Surprisingly, it turns out to be Sydney Poindexter]].
* OriginStory: The first story of the series is one for Sam Tasma
* OriginalFlavour: The series is one of the few that maintains the show's balance of action and comedy. In fact, many feel that it's the way Butch Hartman himself would do a fourth season.
* OutrunTheFireball: Played with. In ''Stolen Years'', Danny and Sam were watching a movie where the hero's car was doing this. Unfortunately, just before it reached its climax, the power went out courtesy of a blackout caused by Jack.
* PairTheSpares: The series has created a uniquely new pairing, [[spoiler:that of Desiree and Sidney Poindexter]]. Definitely one of the most bizarre, if not tender, moments in the series.
* PapaWolf: Jack Fenton. He even admits it in ''Stolen Years''. "But heroes or not, NO ONE messes with Jack Fenton's kids!"
* TheParalyzer: Maddie's sleeper hold technique is shown further, to the point where Sam wants to know how to do it.
* PerformanceAnxiety: It seems that the ghost controlling staff that Freakshow's family had was to help the ghosts get over their stage fright.
* PlayingWithFire: Among the many differences Sam's powers are to Danny's is that she has developed ghostly flame abilities in contrast to his [[AnIcePerson ghostly ice]].
* PoorCommunicationKills: Because Danny and Sam didn't tell their friends they merely pretended to be broken up, Tucker, Valerie, [[spoiler:and Danielle]] thought that the ghosts were responsible and went on the warpath in the Ghost Zone. Still, it was Justified because the ghosts were spying on Danny and Sam.
* PowerIncontinence: When Sam's fire powers first manifested, she couldn't control them and they grew to the point that she burned anything she touched. After training with Dora Mattingly and getting some encouragement from Danny, she got control of them.
* PowerNullifier: Vlad's spectral energy neutralizer box makes a return. [[spoiler:It's eventually destroyed when Danny unleashes his SuperMode to break out of it]].
* [[PowersInTheFirstEpisode Powers In The First Fic]]: Sam in the first fic of the series.
* PowerMakesYourHairGrow: This is the effect of [[spoiler:Future Sam's alternate ghost form]].
* PuppyLove:[[spoiler:Even when their mental capacities are diminished in their child forms in ''Stolen Years'', signs of Danny and Sam's relationship still shine through. Maddie and Jazz find it adorable. Jack and Tucker, not so much]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:R-T]]
* RelationshipResetButton: [[spoiler:Nocturne temporarily did this by trapping Danny and Sam in a dream world where they didn't remember each other. [[{{Understatement}} They were pretty ticked off at him when they woke up]]]].
* RelationshipSabotage: A group of Danny's enemies attempted to do this in ''Bad Breakup''. However, this failed due to a combination of Danny and Sam trusting each other and their attempts not being thought out.
** [[spoiler: Nocturne]], on the other hand, nearly successfully pulled this off in ''Hearts and Minds'' when he [[spoiler: trapped Danny and Sam in a dream world and [[RelationshipResetButton sealed away their memories of each other]]]].
* RelationshipUpgrade: The series takes place following Danny and Sam getting together in the cartoon's SeriesFinale. The author has done a nice job portraying how their new relationship would go, especially with Sam becoming Danny's new ghost fighting partner.
* [[RichBitch Rich Brat]]: Victoria of Elm Street Middle School. Nice girl invites you to a party? Let's dump glue on her. Unsurprisingly she becomes [[spoiler: Danielle's rival, not to mention her target when she starts using her ghost powers on the school bullies.]]
* RivalsTeamUp: After learning Danny's secret, Valerie Gray has not only abandoned her hatred of Danny Phantom, but she has become a permanent ally to him as well as a member of Team Phantom. However, she still has a strong resentment against other ghosts.
** This trope also applies to the Masters' Blasters, who Tucker decided to keep on retainer.
* RollOutTheRedCarpet: When Tucker made his first appearance in the series, he did so by having a long carpet come rolling through Danny's house when he opened the door.
** Dan Phantom also made a joke about the trope when he met [[spoiler:Future Danny and Sam]].
* RousseauWasRight: The basic moral of ''What She Wants''.
* RunningGag: In ''A Family Thing'', Jack accidentally shot someone with the Fenton Foamer three times over the course of the story: first Tucker, then Jazz, and then [[spoiler:Bradley Milton who was being overshadowed by Vlad. Near the end of the story, he almost shot Danielle, but was blocked by an umbrella courtesy of Jazz]].
** In ''Ancient History'', [[spoiler:Hotep-Ra would be burned to ashes by Sam's fire power, then regenerate while shouting his CatchPhrase "I...AM...RISEN!", only for Sam to burn him to ashes again]].
** For a series wide gag, there's Tucker "milking" being the new mayor of Amity Park.
* SadisticChoice: When Technus [[spoiler:was taking control of the cybertron satellite again]], he gave Danny and Sam the choice between stopping him or saving [[BusFullOfInnocents a runaway bus full of people]]. Technus [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] that he knew their obvious choice: save the bus.
-->'''Danny''': "I hate it when he's right".
* ScaledUp: Villainous and Heroic version in ''Royal Occupation'' when [[spoiler: Prince Aragon transformed into his dragon form and Danny and Sam used Dora Mattingly's amulet to do the same to fight him]].
* [[spoiler:ScrewYourself: A variation is used when Sam dresses up like Danny for Halloween. Still, it is [[{{Squick}} quite disturbing]] to Tucker]].
* SecretKeeper: As of ''Ancient History'', [[spoiler:Tanya]].
* SecretRelationship: Inverted where Danny and Sam pretended to break up to deter a bunch of ghosts trying to separate them. Unfortunately, it backfires in more ways than one.
* SexySecretary: Tucker's secretary Tanya. After [[spoiler:defeating Hotep-Ra and Ghost Tucker]] and realizing he lacks any knowledge of politics, Tucker promotes her to be his campaign manager.
* ShadowArchetype: [[spoiler: Ghost Tucker is]] this to Tucker. He is self-centered, insecure and envious, things that Tucker has [[CharacterDevelopment slowly grown out of]] since he became mayor of Amity Park. It reaches a climax in ''Ancient History'' when [[spoiler: Ghost Tucker]] tries to convince him that he'll just be third wheel and a nobody if he gives up the Scarab Scepter. Tucker refuses his offer and defeats him.
* ShipTease: The series has been hinting at Tucker/Jazz a couple of times like when Tucker gave Jazz a hug and kiss when she gave him an idea [[spoiler:and when kissing her undid his frog transformation]].
* ShoutOut: Plenty. For one thing, Sam's powers are based off of [[ComicBook/GreenLantern a certain comic book hero]], which the author says is intentional.
** There's also the aforementioned shout out to ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration''.
** [[Franchise/ANightmareOnElmStreet Elm Street]] Junior High School.
** There have also been a few phrases borrowed from ''WesternAnimation/FairlyOddParents''.
** [[spoiler: "[[VideoGame/HouseOfTheDead Just call me 'G']]."]]
** A small one, but a group of ghost hunters causing a city-wide blackout and facing a court date because of it. [[Film/{{Ghostbusters}} Sound familiar?]]
* ShownTheirWork: Another thing that makes the series good is that the author has clearly done his research of the original cartoon. Not a lot of fanfic writers do that.
* SickAndWrong: A few times throughout the series. One example was when Danny and Sam were quite disturbed by [[spoiler: the sight of Skulker and Ember cuddling]]. Another was when Tucker and Valerie were freaked out by seeing [[spoiler: Danny and Sam kissing [[ScrewYourself while Sam was dressed as Danny]]]].
** This was also the reaction of everyone when [[spoiler:Dash appeared, wearing a ''female'' cheer-leading outfit]].
* {{Sidekick Glass Ceiling}}/{{Sidekick Graduations Stick}}: Sam upgrades to Danny's full-fledged partner after her own ghostly transformation.
* SixthRanger: [[spoiler:Danielle]].
** There's also Jack, Maddie, Valerie [[spoiler:and Wulf]].
* SpeakInUnison: Danny and Sam, moreso than in the cartoon. The author has even expanded on this by having it be the basis of a special link they have developed.
** WordOfGod is that he did it because he felt that all the times Danny and Sam had a 'unison moment' was Butch's way of making up for shelving the link that they had in the original draft.
* [[spoiler:StableTimeLoop: The reason Sam got her ghost powers was because she was driven by the revelation was that her future self was half ghost]].
* StalkingIsLove: It seems Jack used to camp out on Maddie's family's front yard just to see her when she first got back from a trip. While Maddie thought it was touching, Jazz thought there was nothing about that to be proud of.
* StickySituation: One of [[spoiler:[=SkulkTech=]'s]] weapons is a blaster that shoots out balls of ecto adhesive that, as Danny discovered, is immune to intangibility. [[spoiler:Fortunately, Danny's ice powers manage to work well on it]].
** There's also a scene in the first story where Jack attempts to blast [[spoiler:Future Danny]] with a weapon called Ecto Bondo that ends up trapping him, Maddie, and Jazz is a sticky mess.
* StormingTheCastle: Team Phantom invades [[spoiler:the Guys In White's headquarters in order to save Danielle]].
* StrappedToAnOperatingTable: [[spoiler:Danielle, when captured by the Guys In White. Given her previous experiences, she's not impressed]].
* SuddenlyBilingual: In ''Laws of Attraction'', Jack reveals he speaks fluent Esperanto, much to Jazz's shock.
* SuperMode: In the first story of the series, Danny unlocked a form that gives him a major power boost whenever he goes through extreme duress. Unfortunately, this has shades of DeadlyUpgrade as he not only begins to act more and more beastly the longer he's in the form, but the energy he generates builds up too fast and can cause his body to burn out.
** [[spoiler: His future self seems to have gotten control of it and from the looks of her future self, Sam will get one too]].
* SwallowedWhole: At the end of ''Ancient History'', [[spoiler:Hotep-Ra and Ghost Tucker get swallowed whole by the Tucker-faced sphinx, courtesy of Tucker. Hotep-Ra doesn't look forward to [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar the passage that will lead out]]]].
* {{Swirlie}}: According to Poindexter, in life, he got this as much as he got shoved in his locker, much to Danny and Sam's disgust. It allowed him to use the toilet as a second doorway into Casper High.
** For that matter, Dash was about to give a poor kid one of these when Poindexter made his appearance.
* TakeAThirdOption: When Dan Phantom met [[spoiler:Future Danny and Sam]], he gave them the option to 'kneel and live' or 'fight and die'. [[spoiler:Future Sam]] suggested mixing and matching.
* TarAndFeathers: This is essentially what happens to Friend One and Two in ''Junior Hijinks'', with glue and shredded paper substituted.
* TemptingFate: In ''Junior Hijinks'' [[spoiler:before the climax dealing with Danielle and the Blasters]], Tucker lamented that there was nothing to do. Sam kicked him for it.
* ThatsGottaHurt: Jack makes these comments while he and the kids [[spoiler:watch Maddie beat up a clone of Vlad]].
* TheBusCameBack: The series features the return of many characters that only made one appearance in the cartoon, Dark Danny the most prominent.
* ThePowerOfLove: [[spoiler: Sam uses this to get through to Danny and help him change back whenever he changes into his dangerous SuperMode]].
** [[spoiler: It's implied that it was this that allowed Danny and Sam to regain their memories of each other in ''Hearts and Minds'']].
* ThePowerOfTrust: Prevalent in ''Ancient History''. Tucker [[spoiler:trusts Tanya with her memories of Ghost Tucker and Hotep-Ra's attack]], and Danny and Sam in turn [[spoiler:trust Tucker with the Scarab Scepter of King Duulaman]].
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Over the course of the series, the heroes have delivered epic speeches to the villains. Danny gives a spectacular one to [[spoiler: Walker]] in ''Laws of Attraction'' on how [[spoiler: he's willing to break his own rules, calling him the biggest hypocrite he's ever met]]. During her fight with [[spoiler: Undergrowth]], Sam gives one to him about [[spoiler: him being NotSoDifferent than the humans who harm the planet. Considering what he made her do in cartoon, it definitely counts as a MomentOfAwesome]]. [[spoiler: Maddie also gives one to Vlad in ''A Family Thing'' about how he doesn't love, just wants. He just shrugs it off]].
* TheUnmasquedWorld: Averted. While many fans believe that the ending of "Phantom Planet" hinted that Danny's SecretIdentity was revealed to the whole world, the author believes that it was kept secret by those at the South Pole. WordOfGod believes they keep secret other things besides what a teenager does in his spare time.
* ThirdWheel: Valerie had concerns that Danny and Sam were treating Tucker like this, but Tucker reassured her that even though they were together, they were still his friends.
* ThisCannotBe: [[spoiler:Vlad's reaction to Danny being able to bust out of his spectral energy neutralizer, followed by being savagely beaten within an inch of his life by Danny in his feral SuperMode]].
* ThisIsSomethingHesGotToDoHimself: Subverted. Danny at first thought he was the only one who could stop Undergrowth in ''Trial By Fire'', which is Justified seeing as how he did so in the cartoon. However, he ends up getting help from the rest of Team Phantom to bring him down the second time around.
** A straighter example is when Sam writes and recites her poetry. She literally needs to be away from Danny to be in her 'dark place' as he makes her too happy.
* ThisMeansWar: This is what Dark Danny said to [[spoiler:Future Danny]].
* ToMakeALongStoryShort: Tucker gave Valerie a short version of the story where they met Dark Danny.
* TookALevelInBadass: Sam, full spades. While she was already a BadassNormal in the cartoon, after obtaining ghost powers, [[EmpoweredBadassNormal she's even more effective]]. What's more, despite her having her powers for a shorter time than Danny, she's already become just as powerful, which is justified because unlike Danny, Sam had someone to train her, [[spoiler:her future self]].
* TorchesAndPitchforks: More like Lanterns and Flashlights, but the anger was definitely there when the neighbors surrounded [=FentonWorks=] after Jack caused a blackout.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: [[spoiler: Danielle]] loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Not being able to eat any drives [[spoiler:her]] nuts.
* TrainingMontage: Sam went through one when she first got her ghost powers. It went just about as well as when Danny trained to use his ice powers (in fact, it occurred in the same arena), but she came out of it pretty awesome.
* TrickedOutGloves: Jack and Maddie developed a pair of gloves that fed ghosts back their own ecto energy in the first story. In the same story, Vlad later modified them to absorb energy from ghosts, specifically from Dan [[spoiler:and Future Danny and Sam]]. Fortunately, Danny and Sam destroyed them during the climax.
* TwoScenesOneDialogue: In ''Laws Of Attraction'', there's a scene that switches back and forth between Danny and Sam and Tucker and Danny's family with members of Freakshow's circus to explain what happened to them following the first encounter with Freakshow in the cartoon.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:U-Y]]
* UnexpectedCharacter: [[spoiler:The return of the ghost half that was separated from Tucker has taken a few people by surprise]].
* UnskilledButStrong: According to WordOfGod, while Vlad is powerful and manipulative, he has never gotten into knock down drag out fights like Danny because he feels he's too good for that. However, this doesn't help when he ends up on the other end of a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown.
* [[ValentinesDayEpisode Valentine's Day Fic]]: ''What She Wants''.
* VillainTeamUp: Multiple times. First, a group of Danny's enemies teamed up to capture him in ''Strength In Numbers'', then again in ''Bad Breakup'' to break up Danny and Sam, followed by Skulker and Technus joining forces to form [=SkulkTech=] in ''Pairing Off'', and most recently [[spoiler:Hotep-Ra worked with Tucker's former ghost half in ''Ancient History'']].
* VillainousBreakdown: After being thoroughly thrashed [[spoiler:by Future Danny and Sam]], Dan flew at Danny and Sam in a blind rage. In his weakened state, he couldn't stand up to a double punch from the duo.
* VomitDiscretionShot: When Danny hurled the excess food he ate, it was described as everyone present stopping what they were doing and watch in disgust while the sound of Danny retching echoed around them.
* WeCanRuleTogether: [[spoiler:Ghost Tucker tried to coax Tucker into having them rule the world together with the Scarab Scepter's power. It doesn't work]].
* [[WhamEpisode Wham Fic]]: ''A Family Thing'', big time. [[spoiler: Danny's family learns about the existence of Danielle, Danny's [[SuperMode advanced form]] is shown to have been not just a one time thing, it's revealed that Danny and Sam have a special link to each other, and Danielle is adopted by the Fentons]].
** For that matter, the first story of the series can be considered this as it's the beginning of Sam's new life as Danny's new partner.
** One of the biggest shocks in the series occurred in ''What She Wants'' when [[spoiler:Desiree pulls a HeelFaceTurn after hooking up with Poindexter]].
** At the end of ''Ancient History'', [[spoiler:not only does Tucker prepare for an actual election and promotes his secretary Tanya to be campaign manager, but Danny and Sam actually trust him to hold onto the Scarab Scepter]].
* WhamLine: From ''A Family Thing'':
-->[[spoiler:'''Danny''':"So what do you say, Tuck? Got any connections at the Mayor's Office that might be able to fast-track a set of adoption papers?"]]
* WhatWereYouThinking: This is what Danny said to Sam after finding out that she got herself ghost powers. Unlike most cases, Sam justifies her actions.
* TheWorfBarrage: Played with. When Guys in White Operatives O and K blast Danny and Sam with their 'Whitewash' cannon, it does nothing, even though it was designed to destroyed all the ecto molecules in their bodies. [[spoiler:Later, it turns out that it partially worked and ended up erasing the ecto molecules attached to the genes that controlled aging, causing Danny and Sam to revert to five year olds]].
* TheWorfEffect: As proof of how powerful Danny's secondary transformation is [[spoiler:it gave him an edge over Dark Danny ([[WorfHadTheFlu albeit, he was already weakened by fighting Future Danny]]), and he nearly beat Vlad to death]].
* WouldHurtAChild: There are no shortage of villains who would do this.
** In the first fic, Dark Danny causes an avalanche that nearly crushes a school bus full of children to distract Danny.
** The Guys in White, who are eager to experiment on [[spoiler: a de-aged Danny and Sam, and Danielle.]]
** [[spoiler: Ghost Tucker]] who gleefully blasts [[spoiler: Danielle]] from the sky.
* WrongWire: When Vlad was modifying a pair of gloves, he accidentally switched the wrong wire and ended up sending a huge shock through himself.
* YouAndWhatArmy: In ''Strength In Numbers'', Desiree says to Sam that in order to beat her and the other ghosts holding Danny, she'd need an army. Cue Frostbite and the Far Frozeners being led by Danielle.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: [[spoiler:When Tucker worried about the Scarab Scepter possessing him again, Danny and Sam gave him a RousingSpeech that he was no longer the same person that used it the first time]].
* YouAreGrounded: In ''Trial By Fire'', after Danny froze Jack and Maddie to keep them out of the battle with Undergrowth, Jack yelled this to him even though Danny was no longer in the room. Fortunately, following all the action, he forgot about it and Danny asked Sam not to remind him.
** [[spoiler:This is hinted to have happened to Danielle at the end of ''Junior Hijinks'']].
* YouCouldHaveUsedYourPowersForGood: Jazz points out to Desiree that she could do a lot of good with her powers. Desiree just mocks her. [[spoiler:In the end, she actually does after she finds Poindexter]].
* YouHaveFailedMe: In ''Royal Occupation'', when some of Aragon's soldiers fail to capture Danny and the others, he disposes of them via a TrapDoor.
* YouJustHadToSayIt: Happens so often that there are too many to list.
* YouMonster: [[spoiler: Maddie says this to Vlad when she finds out how Vlad violated Danny's DNA in his cloning experiments. Vlad takes offense to it]].
* YouNeedToGetLaid: After one of Tucker's MomentKiller [[DepartmentofRedundancyDepartment moments]], we get this exchange between Danny and Sam.
-->'''Sam''': He ''really'' needs a girlfriend.
-->'''Danny''': Tell me about it.
* YourPrincessIsInAnotherCastle: At the climax of the first story, it looks like [[spoiler:Future Danny and Sam]] are about to trap Dark Danny and bring the fight to an end, only for Vlad to arrive and use his modified TrickedOutGloves to steal their powers.
