''A Codette World Tour'' is a [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7356947/1/A-Codette-World-Tour fanfic]] made by Creator/{{TDICharlieBrown}} based on ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama World Tour''. As the name suggests, it's a shipping fic centered on Cody and Bridgette.

In this story, the spark in Bridgette and Geoff's relationship died out after their arguments on ''Total Drama Action''[='=]s Aftermath and the two break up between seasons. Then in ''Total Drama World Tour''[='=]s first challenge in Egypt, Cody chooses to go over the pyramid rather than through it like in canon. But a mishap caused by Bridgette's klutziness means that Cody ends up on Team Victory with her rather than on Team Amazon with Gwen as he hoped for. As she and Cody become good friends, the newly single Bridgette starts falling for Alejandro's charms, but Cody has his suspicions of the newcomer. And with Alejandro scheming his way through the game, can Cody stop him before it's too late and will Bridgette realize Alejandro is not the real man of her dreams?

There are 10 chapters and an epilogue. WARNING! Most spoilers unmarked.
----
!!This fanfiction series contains examples of:

* AccidentalKiss: Bridgette has one with Alejandro like in canon, except this time it's in China instead of the Yukon, and Alejandro uses it as an opportunity to hook up with Bridgette for his own nefarious ends.
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul:
** Alejandro's vendetta against Bridgette. In canon, he targeted her for elimination purely for the sake of getting further in the competition and was otherwise indifferent to her. Here, his failure to eliminate Bridgette in the Yukon makes him increasingly hateful of her (like calling her a shallow bimbo) and her successes, culminating in his actions mentioned below under AdaptationalVillainy.
** Similarly, Alejandro cared very little about Cody in canon and only started taking him seriously once the two were in the final four. Here, Alejandro considers Cody to be one of his most formidable enemies and makes it a high priority to get him eliminated early so he can then take Bridgette down without any opposition.
** Cody was largely oblivious to Alejandro and his evil deeds in the canon season, but in this fic, Cody is one of the few contestants suspicious of Alejandro from the start, even teaming up with Noah to try get him eliminated early (although this fails when Noah is eliminated instead and Alejandro manages to successfully flatter Cody into dropping his suspicions of him until Bridgette reveals them to be true all along).
* AdaptationalBadass:
** Team Victory as a whole. Infamous in canon for getting completely wiped out by Alejandro before the season's halfway point, this fic makes them much more successful in challenges and more difficult for Alejandro to annihilate, while having two canonical members reach the merge. Said two members, Bridgette and DJ, stand out especially, as DJ loses his status as TheLoad due to not being cursed this time while Bridgette is not the first girl eliminated for the second time in a row this time, allowing both to really show their skill in challenges and win first class more times than in canon.
** In canon, Courtney was so heartbroken by Duncan cheating on her with Gwen that she became vulnerable to Alejandro's charms and was easily manipulated by him as a result. In this fic however, Duncan's infidelity drives her into an UnstoppableRage that takes her competitive aggressiveness up to eleven and makes her impossible for Alejandro to flirt with at all.
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: Staci, a character who canonically first appears in ''Revenge of the Island'', is brought in as a new contestant during the Niagara Falls challenge. She lasts just as long as she did in canon.
* AdaptationalVillainy: Alejandro remains the BigBad, but his villainous actions grow darker as the contest progresses, such as faking a rape attempt on Bridgette so he could get to the final two and make Cody lose, as well as trying to kill her, Cody, and Geoff due to a VillainousBreakdown. You can say he's way worse than his canon self.
* AdaptedOut:
** Blaineley doesn't appear at all, so her role as the unexpected new contestant debuting in the Niagara Falls challenge is given to Staci (a contestant who canonically debuts in the season after).
** Several challenges given in certain locations' are removed. The Egypt challenge skips the Nile race due to Chris deciding to cancel it in response to Duncan quitting; there are no challenges at all when the cast are stranded in Jamaica; and China's eating challenge never occurs at all.
** Heather has no BelligerentSexualTension with Alejandro due to being DemotedToExtra in the story. She does support Alejandro in the finals, but only because she believes he has a higher chance of winning.
* AlternateUniverseFic: In this story's universe, Bridgette and Geoff's relationship never recovered after Geoff started becoming a jerk in ''Action'', resulting in their breakup before ''World Tour''. The team rosters are also different due to [[ForWantOfANail a couple of small changes in the setup]] and which rounds were elimination or non-elimination change as well.
* AmIJustAToyToYou: Alejandro takes pleasure in making out with Bridgette and cuddling with her when she's wearing a bikini, but proudly states in his confessionals that Bridgette's sex appeal and sex drive are the only things he truly likes about her and that he believes she's just a promiscuous idiot he can toss away once he's done with her. Bridgette is totally horrified, furious, and heartbroken when she discovers this, and calls him out on it later on.
* AmicableExes:
** Geoff and Bridgette become this in the end. When Geoff expresses his remorse for what he did on ''Action'' and how he should have done more to show his love for her than just make out non-stop, Bridgette accepts his apology and is happy to see him back to his old self again.
** Implied to be the case with Owen and Izzy in the epilogue too, since Izzy and Ezekiel are stated to occasionally help Owen with work in his post-''Total Drama'' career.
* AscendedExtra:
** Team Victory lasts much longer than they did in the canon ''World Tour'' and plays a bigger role than mere fodder eliminations at the hands of Alejandro, with canonical members Bridgette and DJ making it all the way to the merge this time [[spoiler:(and the former wins the season)]].
** Ezekiel, Lindsay, and Tyler also last much longer and have a more successful time than they do in canon, although only Tyler reaches the merge (although Ezekiel and Lindsay do become the last contestants to be eliminated before the merge arrives).
* TheAtoner: Geoff deeply regrets losing Bridgette's love for him and volunteers to become one of her helpers in the finals to make up for all his misdeeds in ''Action'', from his non-stop makeout sessions to his "Captain Hollywood" phase.
* AttemptedRape: During the race to Hawaii, Alejandro stages a rape attempt of Bridgette to enrage Cody so that he would be get distracted and lose.
* AuthorAppeal: The entire reason this fic exists actually. Cody/Bridgette is one of the author's favorite fanon pairings, and they wrote this fic entirely to help alleviate the scarcity of such fics featuring the pairing. Also, the inclusion of the Ezekiel/Izzy pairing.
* AwesomeByAnalysis: Sierra finds the hidden oil supply and wins the Alberta challenge by knowing what type of shoe the intern who hid it wears and just following his tracks.
* BabiesEverAfter:
** The epilogue has [[spoiler:Cody and Bridgette becoming the proud new parents of a beautiful baby girl, with Leshawna, DJ, Owen, and Gwen joining to congratulate them. Also Izzy and Ezekiel are mentioned to now be the parents of ''nine'' kids.]]
** Subverted with [[spoiler:Gwen who becomes the teen mom of Duncan's illegitimate son. Duncan refuses to accept the responsibility of fatherhood and leaves the pregnant Gwen alone and miserable, but Gwen finds she still has her friends and family supporting her and the kid.]]
* BeYourself: Bridgette recommends this to Cody as advice for winning over Gwen, saying he should just be his kind, friendly, and dorky self rather than trying his usual cool and macho CasanovaWannabe act.
* BerserkButton:
** The mere idea of Alejandro manipulating Bridgette makes Cody want to punch him. Noah takes notice of this early on, and [[ShipperOnDeck believes there's something more to it than just a desire to protect teammates.]]
** Don't mess with Chef's tiger! Chris learned that one the hard way during the Alberta challenge.
** Never say or call Alejandro José or he will snap at you. But that's nothing compared to [[VillainousBreakdown what will happen]] if you call him "Al" multiple times in a row.
* BetaCouple: Izzy and Ezekiel have their own minor romantic subplot in the first half of the story, and they have a much quicker and easier time hooking up than Cody and Bridgette do.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: The calm and compassionate Bridgette is utterly furious at Alejandro and becomes determined to defeat him when she discovers Alejandro to really be a cruel and ruthless bastard who has hurt everyone she cares about and sees her as nothing more than a stupid harlot to be manipulated, all for the sake of winning. Her anger grows even further after Alejandro stages an AttemptedRape on her.
* BreakTheCutie:
** Cody is stuck on a different team from his crush Gwen, vilified by Alejandro after his friend Noah is eliminated, loses his longtime crush to Duncan, witnesses Gwen turning into a jerk because of it, gets his heart shattered by Gwen finally snapping at him, has a HeroicBSOD, and loses his new crush Bridgette to Alejandro's charms.
** Bridgette loses her canonical boyfriend Geoff (and it's hinted the breakup was painful for the both of them), is horrified with herself when she learns of her misplaced anger towards Cody (when Alejandro twists a conversation Cody had with Noah), falls for Alejandro only to learn that he has hurt everyone she cares about and sees her only as a dumb slut to be manipulated, and sees her friend Gwen turn into a jerk as a result of dating Duncan.
* BreakTheHaughty: Courtney loses her best friend and boyfriend when they cheat behind her back and then gets slugged by them when she finds out, all while on TV. Her anguish then transforms into pure rage that she channels into a determination to win until eventually she has an emotional breakdown over Gwen and Duncan's betrayal of her trust after getting injured.
* BrokenTears: Happens to Courtney during the China challenge when her emotions over Duncan cheating on her with Gwen finally overwhelm her.
* CharacterDevelopment: Through the fic, Bridgette and Cody become better friends first, they're still busy with their own love interests (Alejandro for Bridgette and Gwen for Cody). They become closer friends with romantic hints but, they don't think much of it. Through the chapters, they eventually became a couple.
* ChekhovsGun: As the author himself explains, changing Gwen and Duncan's kiss to outright sex is meant to be more than just a shocking twist on an inevitable reveal. [[spoiler:The more sexually active nature of their relationship results in Duncan breaking up with Gwen upon learning she's pregnant with his child.]]
* ChessMotifs: While playing chess with Cody, Noah uses the game to describe his plan to eliminate Alejandro while discussing their shared suspicions regarding Owen and Harold's eliminations.
* ChivalrousPervert: The show seems to portray Cody as this, but Bridgette and Sierra see through it and get to know the sweet guy he is.
* ConfessionTriggersConsummation: This seems be the case with the fic's version of Duncan and Gwen's reunion after the former's return in London, since their kiss is changed to sex in the story.
* DarkerAndEdgier: The fic is rated T (a.k.a. PG-13) for a reason. While keeping with the zaniness of the canonical ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama World Tour'' season, the author upgrades Gwen and Duncan's kiss to sex [[spoiler:(which then gets Gwen pregnant, causing Duncan to dump her)]] and puts Courtney through a complete breakdown over that betrayal by her boyfriend and best friend; Gwen's brutal rejection of Cody sends him into a serious depression; and there is also more violence and blood than in the original.
* ADeathInTheLimelight:
** Courtney gets a lot of focus during the China challenge of Chapter 6, as her emotions over Duncan cheating on her with Gwen reach their climax and then she gets eliminated afterwards.
** Tyler becomes the hero of the Africa challenge of Chapter 7, overcoming his usual clumsiness and saving Cody and Bridgette from falling off a cliff, only to get the boot at the end.
** Sierra is the centre of attention in the Alberta challenge of Chapter 8, as she is forced to come to terms with Cody hooking up with Bridgette but gets disqualified from the game after.
* DemotedToExtra:
** Owen and Heather go from reaching the merge in canon (and a finalist in Heather's case) to being among the first eliminated in the competition. Heather's elimination in particular is embarrassingly unceremonious, whereas Owen's at least had a purpose of making him a victim of Alejandro's villainous manipulations. However, the two do get to be Alejandro's helpers during the finale.
** Duncan's return is reduced from what was canonically 9 episodes to a mere 2, as he is eliminated in Greece instead of Africa this time. However, he proves to have a SmallRoleBigImpact as his affair with Gwen marks a major turning point in the story's romance and ironically causes even more damage and drama than Chris' decision to keep Duncan did in canon.
** Gwen and Noah are both eliminated earlier than in canon, but they are not as severely demoted as the aforementioned cases due to Gwen's role as a RomanticFalseLead (and her relationship with Duncan impacting the plot) and Noah becoming a SacrificialLion to demonstrate Alejandro's trickiness.
* DramaticIrony: Bridgette thinks Alejandro is the most wonderful human being she's ever had the luck of falling in love with, but anyone even remotely familiar with the season knows how horribly, ''horribly'' wrong she is (and Alejandro himself thinks Bridgette is the biggest fool to have ever lived).
* DreamSequence: In Chapter 7, Bridgette has one foreshadowing her learning of Alejandro's true villainous nature and his roles in hurting and eliminating the other contestants, as well as her discovery of her feelings for the far kinder and friendlier Cody.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: Cody and Bridgette go through a lot of trials, tribulations, heartbreak, schemes from Alejandro, and Chris' challenges to hook up happily ever after.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Chef cares about Ted the Tiger enough to get revenge on Chris when the host uses Ted as catapult ammo during the Alberta challenge.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Alejandro does show concern when Sierra was hurt during the plane explosion.
** He's also every bit as disgusted by Gwen and Duncan's affair as everyone else is.
** While he's not about faking it, he claims he would NEVER actually [[spoiler: rape]] someone.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: Noah, DJ, Courtney, and others all tease Cody and Bridgette about their feelings for each other, though they deny anything about it early on. Chris and Chef even reveal during the Alberta challenge that they had been betting over whether the two would hook up.
* EvilLaugh: Chris has one in the Niagara Falls challenge that unnerves everyone when Bridgette points out there aren't enough partners to go around (3 girls to 4 guys), foreshadowing Staci's debut.
* ExactWords: During the Niagara Falls challenge, Alejandro tricks Sierra into thinking that Bridgette kissed Cody while be very careful to not actually say those words.
--> "If you recall senorita, all I said was that Cody's face was bright red. 'Almost as if he had been kissed by a girl'. I never said Bridgette kissed him."
* {{Fanservice}}: A lampshaded instance occurs in Greece when Chris has Alejandro rub oil over his shirtless toned body as preparation for a challenge, outright stating that the sole purpose of having him do it was to please female viewers. Also, the normally wetsuit-clad Bridgette instead wears a bikini while the cast is in Jamaica.
* FixFic: Due to their hatred for the canon season, the author "fixes" many of the plot points of ''World Tour'' that they had problems with, such as the treatment of many contestants (especially Bridgette, DJ, and Ezekiel), Duncan's return and the ensuing LoveTriangle, Alejandro's InvincibleVillain qualities, and the finale.
* ForWantOfANail:
** Cody's choice to go over the pyramid rather than under like in canon result in the team compositions being altered, which combined with Bridgette's breakup with Geoff after ''Action'', snowball into a completely different series of events.
** Alejandro's failure to eliminate Bridgette in the Yukon allows Team Victory to do much better than they did in canon and shuffles the elimination order quite significantly. Alejandro himself lampshades this in his confessionals, blaming his failure to destroy Team Victory before the merge on Bridgette staying in the game.
* GiveGeeksAChance: The entire point of the story is the development of a romance between the scrawny tech-savvy Cody and the beautiful GranolaGirl surfer Bridgette.
* GracefulLoser:
** Tyler takes his elimination quite well, declaring that he has no need for the prize money when he already has his girlfriend Lindsay and has proven himself a hero in the challenge of the day.
** Courtney goes out with dignity this time, formally apologizing to everyone for her behaviour and admitting that it was her own fault that she lost before happily leaving via the Drop of Shame.
* HateSink:
** Alejandro is meant to be this by WordOfGod, with his hatefulness and villainous acts becoming increasingly nasty and cruel as the story continues and his manipulation of Bridgette's feelings causes trouble between her and Cody.
** Staci fills the same role as in canon by being as annoying as possible for both the audience and the other characters though her incessant blabbering of outrageous lies so no one will miss her when she's eliminated shortly afterwards.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Gwen]] does some horrible things before leaving, but comes back and even helps [[spoiler:Bridgette win]]. Her redemption continues into the epilogue, as she rebuilds and strengthens her friendships and gains the forgiveness of her friends and family for everything she did on TV.
* HeroicBSOD: Cody has an emotional breakdown and becomes extremely depressed and miserable for several days after having his heart broken by Gwen screaming at him to stop hitting on her and then quitting the game with Duncan. It gets so bad that his health actually starts declining until Bridgette and DJ knock him back into his senses.
* HiddenDepths:
** Sierra, despite usually being a little more than a ditzy LoonyFan of Cody, manages to sneak a laptop on board (twice), fool Chris, and win a challenge through simple deduction.
** Geoff's time as host of the Aftermath has given him a surprising talent for pitching ideas to TV producers and convincing them of it, as seen with the argument he delivers on why Chris should let him replace an incapacitated DJ as one of Bridgette's helpers in the finals.
* HonoraryUncle / HonoraryAunt: [[spoiler:Bridgette, Leshawna, Cody, Owen, and DJ become honorary aunts and uncles for Gwen's son]] in the epilogue as her way of thanking them for supporting her when Duncan failed to.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy:
** Even after Cody realizes that he likes Bridgette, he's willing (despite the pain) to let her be with her crush Alejandro if that's who she wants to be with. Of course, that's because he and Bridgette don't realize [[BitchInSheepsClothing Alejandro's true nature]] until almost everyone else is eliminated.
** Sierra ultimately decides she is willing to let Bridgette date Cody despite her initial rage at Bridgette for "stealing" Cody from her, but she makes Bridgette promise to treat Cody with utmost respect and unconditional love as she (Sierra) would have given him.
** In the finale, Geoff comes to accept Bridgette and Cody being together, admitting to Bridgette that he knows he messed up back in ''Action'' and while he can't ask her to come back because of how happy she is with Cody, he wants to make it up to her by helping her win the season.
* IfYouEverDoAnythingToHurtHim: Sierra wants to be sure Cody is in good hands in his relationship with Bridgette, so she tells Bridgette in no uncertain terms that she will not stand for any mistreatment of Cody from Bridgette.
* InSpiteOfANail:
** While Team Victory is much more successful than in canon and has its members make it all the way to the merge, Harold and Leshawna are still eliminated very early (and in the same places), thanks to Alejandro's machinations, leaving Team Victory with only three members for the rest of the story.
** Sierra, Courtney, and Izzy are still eliminated in the same locations they were in canon (and for the same reasons in the case of Sierra and Izzy), and [[spoiler:Cody still comes in third place.]]
** Despite the different team compositions, Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Hot keeps its name. This stands out because in canon, Sierra was originally assigned to that team and came up with its name, but then switched over to Team Amazon so she could be with Cody. Here however, Cody is on Team Victory and Sierra is on Team Amazon from the start, so Team CIRRRRH's name is never justified in the story.
* InstantSedation: Tyler does this to Sierra during the Africa challenge to get Cody away from her. [[spoiler:Chris is forced to disqualify him to avoid a lawsuit.]]
* IronicEcho:
** In Chapter 8, Cody screams at Sierra that he'll never love her back when she flips out over him hooking up with Bridgette... only to then realize to his horror that he's talking almost exactly like Gwen when she lost it at him in Chapter 4.
** In Chapter 7's Easter Island challenge, after learning of his true nature, Bridgette pulls the same seductive tricks on Alejandro that he had been using on her the whole story in order to finally lash out at him for getting all her friends voted off and manipulating her feelings.
* {{Jerkass}}: Duncan, even moreso than in canon. His influence causes Gwen to become a huge jerk to all her friends, and even Alejandro is disgusted by their affair. [[spoiler:Then when he and Gwen are on the run, he leaves her immediately upon learning she's pregnant with his child and never returns.]]
* KarmaHoudini: After all of the drama stirred by the love triangle, Duncan, like in canon, gets away scot-free for it, and it's Gwen and Courtney who suffer the consequences (although both gain redemption and happiness in the end).
* KindheartedSimpleton: Ted the Tiger, a goofy and dimwitted tiger who is anything but ferocious.
* LiteralCliffhanger: Done in the Africa challenge when Bridgette and Ted the Tiger are left dangling from a cliff when a lion attacks them.
* TheLoad:
** Cody becomes this for Team Victory during his HeroicBSOD over Gwen shattering his heart. It gets to the point where Bridgette and DJ reluctantly decide that they will vote him off the next time their team loses an elimination round (which ultimately proves irrelevant since the merge arrives shortly afterwards).
** Owen is this to Alejandro during the finale, forcing Heather to do all the work. However, it's rather ambiguous as to whether he was intentionally being this or simply being his usual oafish self.
* LookingForLoveInAllTheWrongPlaces: In Chapter 7, Bridgette reflects how her past boyfriends were shallow, lustful, and always using her or trying to change her before finally realizing she's developed feelings for Cody.
* LoveDodecahedron: Sierra is crushing on Cody who is crushing on Gwen who is crushing on Duncan who is in a relationship with Courtney, all while Bridgette is crushing on Alejandro. But after Gwen shatters Cody's heart and hooks up with Duncan, Cody then finds himself falling for Bridgette instead.
* LoveMakesYouEvil: Gwen's feelings for and eventual relationship with Duncan cause her to become much meaner and crueller to everyone, including her friends. [[spoiler:It takes Duncan getting her pregnant and then breaking up with her for it to revert to her old self.]]
* MisplacedWildlife: Unlike in canon, the usage of pandas in the Japan challenge is pointed out by a furious Harold, and Chris is forced to change the challenge to have human partners (and punish one of his interns for getting the facts wrong) as a result.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone:
** Sierra realizes her mistake in the Niagara Falls challenge when she assumed that Bridgette kissed Cody just because the latter's face was full-on red from blushing, fearing that she will be eliminated as a result.
** Cody is horrified with himself when he snaps at Sierra's jealousy towards his new relationship with Bridgette as he realizes he sounds exactly like Gwen when she started screaming at him to stop hitting on her.
* NiceGuy / NiceGirl : Bridgette being a Nice Girl is what made Cody eventually have feelings for her, and vice versa. It was what made Sierra (eventually) decide to let Bridgette date Cody. It was also what made Cody fangirl Anita accept Bridgette and Cody being together.
* NonGameplayElimination: Just like in canon, Izzy and Sierra are eliminated this way, but Tyler and Gwen receive this fate as well.
* NoodleIncident:
** The exact details of Geoff and Bridgette's breakup between seasons are never addressed, but it's implied that it was a reluctant but necessary decision on Bridgette's part due to no longer feeling satisfied with the relationship after ''Action'' but still simultaneously missing the happy moments they had shared.
** The implied breakup between Owen and Izzy is never explained in the slightest, as Izzy is now inexplicably attracted to Ezekiel. In fact, ''Ezekiel'' has more problems with it than Owen does, as the former is initially very confused as to why Izzy is so affectionate with him while the latter never says anything about it.
* NotHimself: Harold and Leshawna in Japan and the Alps respectively. Alejandro manipulates them by feeding their pride and causing them to become excessively arrogant and bossy, thus prompting their teammates to vote them off when they end up costing the challenge with their big-headedness.
* OutGambitted: Noah's attempt to expose Alejandro for who he is and get him eliminated is outmaneuvered when Alejandro helps Lindsay remember who Tyler is so that the two will vote with him for Noah as repayment.
* RageBreakingPoint: Gwen snaps after putting up with Cody's attempts to hit on her for so long and screams in his face to stop it once and for all. The sad part for Cody is that he had finally stopped with his CasanovaWannabe act and was trying to reach out to her in a genuine fashion by that time.
* RomanticFalseLead: Alejandro for Bridgette and Gwen for Cody.
* TheRunaway: Gwen and Duncan become this after the the former quits the show with the latter. [[spoiler:However, Gwen returns when they break up over her getting pregnant, but Duncan remains on the run.]]
* SacrificialLamb: Harold, Leshawna, and Owen's early eliminations serve to establish Alejandro's manipulative villainy, with the former two also demonstrating his determination to take down Team Victory first.
* SacrificialLion: Noah is eliminated earlier than in canon, but his failed attempt to oust Alejandro early ends up having a major impact on the friendship between Cody and Bridgette, strengthening Alejandro's position in the game, and cementing how dangerous of a competitor Alejandro really is.
* SheCleansUpNicely: Bridgette is already very pretty, but in the Niagara Falls challenge, Cody is so smitten by how incredibly gorgeous she looks in a wedding dress that it snaps him out of his HeroicBSOD and makes him realize his feelings for her. Likewise, Bridgette notices how handsome Cody looks in a tuxedo.
* ShipTease: A brief moment from Courtney to Cody.
-->'''Courtney:''' Cody?... well, well, well. Who would have thought? Bridgette... I hope you realize what a good guy that is you're hugging before it's too late. If not... I just might have to take him for myself.
* ShipperOnDeck:
** DJ is very much aware of Bridgette and Cody's developing feelings for each other and roots for them to get together. He also occasionally teases Bridgette about it.
-->'''DJ:''' Good luck, you two! I know you'll be great!\\
'''Bridgette:''' Thanks, DJ!\\
'''Cody:''' We'll play our hearts out for you!\\
'''DJ:''' Oh, I wasn't talking about the game. ''(winks)''
** Noah also seems to be on deck, judging by the way he teases Cody about Bridgette and his bet with Cody that the two would become a couple by the end of the season.
-->'''Noah:''' First, Gwen. Now, Bridgette.... I've got to admire your taste in women.
* ShoutOut:
** Cody's tear-filled rant after being brutally rejected by Gwen near the end of Chapter 4 is scripted much like Will Smith's tearful breakdown over his father leaving him again in ''Series/TheFreshPrinceOfBelAir'' episode "Papa's Got A Brand New Excuse".
** There are some quick throwaway gags of WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic, [[WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy Stewie Griffin]], and [[VideoGame/GodOfWar Kratos]] reacting to certain scenes.
** Moments from ''Literature/TheWizardOfOz'' and ''Literature/HowTheGrinchStoleChristmas'' are briefly referenced in Chapters 2 and 9 respectively.
** Cody performs the States and Capitals song from ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}'' during the Niagara Falls challenge to pass Chef's quiz.
** After the plane leaves Jamaica, Chris treats the contestants to a special reward by showing them ''WesternAnimation/TheSecretOfKells'' to compensate for the plane's failure to reach the intended destination of Ireland.
** A homeless man named [[WebVideo/BumReviews Chester A. Bum]] appears towards the end of the story. Introduced at the same time are two TD fans named Sebastian and Anita who clearly meant to be two of the OC contestants introduced in the ''Fanfic/TotalDramaComebackSeries''.
** Ted the Tiger is based on [[VideoGame/CrashBandicoot Pura]] but with the personality of [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy Ed]] (note the name). Furthermore, some of his scenes are references to ''Film/GeorgeOfTheJungle'', ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'', and ''WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994''.
** A few small nods to the ''World Tour'' fanfic ''Fanfic/CandyForYourThoughts'' are present too. In Chapter 6, Courtney teases the possibility to taking Cody as her boyfriend if Bridgette doesn't realize his feelings for her soon, while in Chapter 10, the finalists and their helpers are still Cody, his new girlfriend, and her ex-boyfriend going up against the trio of Alejandro, Heather, and [[TokenGoodTeammate Owen]].
* SideBet: Noah bets with Cody that he (Cody) and Bridgette will hook up by the end of the season. Unfortunately, Alejandro overhears it and twists the conversation to drive a wedge between Cody and Bridgette by telling her that Cody bet with Noah that he could make Bridgette his girlfriend.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Duncan has only a minor role in the story (as he is eliminated almost immediately after he returns instead of reaching the merge), but his actions with Gwen mark a major turning point in the story as his influence causes her [[TookALevelInJerkass to take a level in jerkass]] and destroy all of Cody's feelings for her, which opens the way for the Cody/Bridgette romance.
* SmugSnake: If only Alejandro could keep his yap shut in front of the confession camera then no one would have known about his manipulation of the contestants when Sierra gets access to them.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Sierra and her laptop end up derailing Alejandro's plans, as Sierra's access to all the ''Total Drama'' episodes allows Bridgette to realize her feelings for Cody and find out what Alejandro is really like when she decides to take a peek at the fangirl's laptop out of curiosity.
* TheStationsOfTheCanon:
** Alejandro still attempts to get Bridgette's tongue stuck on a pole in the Yukon by isolating and seducing her in order to get her eliminated. It doesn't work here though because Cody's interference causes ''Cody'' to get stuck to the pole instead (although in a different manner), and it turns out to be a non-elimination round.
** Duncan still quits the contest when in Egypt only to be forced to return to the game in London (although through totally different circumstances). Likewise, Tyler is still the one who sees Duncan cheating with Gwen and is forced by Alejandro to reveal it to everyone in Greece (although this time, Duncan and Gwen were having sex in the cargo hold and Tyler is spotted by them when he witnesses the affair).
** Sierra still destroys the plane by accident when she bakes a cake for Cody's 17th birthday, leading Chris to automatically disqualify her from the contest, despite winning immunity in the day's challenge.
* SweetTooth: Cody, as per canon. In Paris, he gorges himself on a box of 200 chocolates and ends up getting sick.
* TakeThat:
** Team Victory's "reward" for winning the Amazon challenge is a showing of ''Film/Piranha3D'', which revolts all of them to the point that DJ snaps and tosses the movie out the door in the plane. And to drive the point home, it's listed as one of the eliminated campers.
** Later on, Alejandro tricks Owen and DJ into watching the above film's sequel ''Film/Piranha3DD'', causing DJ to go catatonic and thus preventing him from helping Bridgette in the finals.
** In Chapter 6, Chris tells Chef that no matter how much he hates his job, he should be glad that at least he doesn't work on ''WesternAnimation/{{Skatoony}}''.
** Sierra threatens to force Alejandro to watch ''Series/JerseyShore'' as punishment for his various evil deeds.
** [[spoiler:Alejandro's]] punishment at the end of the contest is to be sent off to star on ''WesternAnimation/DrawnTogether''.
* TeamMemberInTheAdaptation: Canonical Team Victory members Lindsay and Ezekiel are instead members of Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Hot and Team Amazon respectively, Izzy is on Team Amazon instead of Team CIRRRRH, and Cody is on Team Victory instead of Team Amazon.
* TeamPet: Ted the Tiger fills this role for the contestants and Chef. Chris, on the other hand, couldn't care less about him and generally sees him as a nuisance.
* TeenPregnancy: [[spoiler:Gwen conceives Duncan's child at 17]], causing the couple to break up when [[spoiler:Duncan]] is told of this and abandons her, wanting nothing to do with the baby or parenthood.
* ThatCameOutWrong: In the first part of the Japan challenge, Cody tells Bridgette he "can work these [game show] balls just as well as the next guy". The inadvertent homosexual innuendo does not go unnoticed by the other contestants, who all burst into laughter. Two more instances occur between Lindsay & Alejandro and Izzy & Ezekiel after the challenge is over - all gleefully lampshaded by Noah.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Owen is this when he and Heather become Alejandro's helpers in the finale. He takes little enthusiasm in having to go up against Bridgette and stalls Alejandro by being TheLoad (although it's not clear whether he's intentionally doing this).
* TooDumbToLive: Lindsay gets eliminated when she votes for herself by accident and Alejandro takes the gamble and votes for her as well.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Gwen, after she starts dating Duncan. She becomes much crankier and does horrible things to her friends, which leads to Cody's devastating heartbreak and Courtney's BrokenTears. [[spoiler:However, after Duncan gets her pregnant and then ditches her, she redeems herself by helping Bridgette win the finale and vowing to make up for what she did to Cody for the rest of her life.]]
* TraintopBattle: Bridgette and Alejandro have a quick one as the former tries to escape the latter during the race of Hawaii. This leads to Alejandro's AttemptedRape when he manages to grab a hold of Bridgette.
* TranquilFury:
** Chris has two separate moments of this with the interns when they screw up the organization of a challenge, first in Japan and then in Alberta.
** Courtney has a similar moment with Staci in the Niagara Falls challenge after having enough of her incessant lying.
* TrueCompanions: [[spoiler:Cody, Bridgette, Leshawna, Owen, and DJ (the five people she considered "sane" in the first season)]] become these for Gwen in the epilogue after wholeheartedly supporting her in her time of need and helping her reunite with her family.
* TrueLovesKiss: Ezekiel performs this to wake Izzy up from her coma while she is hospitalized after the plane crashes in Jamaica.
* UnstoppableRage: Courtney falls into this after her initial grief over Duncan's affair with Gwen... that is until she finally breaks down during the China challenge.
* VillainousBreakdown: After Alejandro's BerserkButton is pushed too many times during the finale, he goes off the deep end and actually tries to kill Geoff, Cody, and Bridgette.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse:
** [[spoiler:After Duncan leaves Gwen]], his fate is left a mystery. Additionally, it is never resolved whether Courtney and Gwen reconciled since Courtney manages to recover and gain some happiness in the end while [[spoiler:Duncan and Gwen break up after he gets her pregnant.]]
** Noah's bet with Cody is never addressed in the final chapters, although it is safe to say Noah won.
* WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue: The epilogue contains elements of this for several of the contestants, as well as Chef and Ted the Tiger.
