{{Crossover}}s in anime and manga.
----
* All of the shows by AIC, makers of ''Anime/TenchiMuyo'' crossover somewhat with each other. Dual! ended up with a cameo and recycling the "Light Hawk Wings" for its big mech. Later, in Tenchi Muyo! GXP, a mech looking like the one from DUEL! showed up in an episode.
* ''Manga/{{Arte}}'' and ''Literature/MyNextLifeAsAVillainessAllRoutesLeadToDoom'' had a gag 4-koma manga crossover created as a collaboration between their two anime studios.
** The following year, ''My Next Life as a Villainess'' had another 4-koma manga crossover in the same collaboration vein, this time with ''Manga/DontToyWithMeMissNagatoro'' and ''Manga/MySenpaiIsAnnoying''.
* In one episode of the 1980s ''Anime/{{Astroboy}}'', the titular robot is taken back in time, along with his sister Uran, the one and only Manga/BlackJack and the doctor's assistant/companion Pinoko, in order to save the main character from ''Manga/PrincessKnight''. Good ol' Tezuka mix-and-match.
* ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'': [[http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=56813 With the]] Franchise/MarvelUniverse!
* ''Manga/BlackClover'' [[https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2019-03-18/osomatsu-san-sextuplets-to-appear-in-black-clover-anime-76th-episode/.144671 with]] ''Anime/OsomatsuSan'', having a collaboration campaign and cameo of the Matsuno sextuplets in ''Black Clover'''s 76th episode.
* ''Anime/CityHunterShinjukuPrivateEyes'': The Kisugi sisters from ''Manga/CatsEye'' (the other famous Tsukasa Hojo manga outside ''Manga/CityHunter'') appear, for the first time in animation in decades.
* The mangaka group Creator/{{CLAMP}} have crossed their works over to the [[CanonWelding point that now they are all in one big, weird world]]. Some of these are significant to the plot, many seem to be just for fun. A frequent crossover element is the Clamp Campus, a gigantic private school that shows up in ''CLAMP Campus Detectives'', ''[[Manga/{{X1999}} X/1999]]'', ''Dukylon: CLAMP Defenders'', and ''Man of Many Faces''. Characters from ''Manga/{{Chobits}}'' make an appearance in ''Manga/{{Kobato}}''. The protagonist of ''Manga/TokyoBabylon'', Sumeragi Subaru, shows up in ''X/1999''. Even their "joke" series ''Manga/MiyukiChanInWonderland'' contains crossovers. In one story, Miyuki ends up as the Damsel In Distress in ''X/1999''. In another, she ends up playing (strip) TabletopGame/{{Mahjong}} with other characters from CLAMP works. And there are the tribute music videos ''CLAMP in Wonderland'' and ''CLAMP in Wonderland 2'' which have segues between all of their series to date.
** Then there is ''Manga/TsubasaReservoirChronicle''. The entire basic '''premise''' is being an ''AlternateUniverse'' ''MassiveMultiplayerCrossover '' with characters from most of CLAMP's works showing up, often in different contexts from their original portrayal, such as characters from opposing sides of ''X/1999'' hanging around the same cafe. Two of the main characters are alternate versions of the main characters from ''Manga/CardcaptorSakura''. '''AND''' it is the sister series to ''Manga/XxxHolic''. The plots of the two series are so intertwined that they are essentially two vantage points on the ''same'' story.
* ''Manga/CrossEpoch'', a single-chapter manga where ''Franchise/DragonBall'' and ''Franchise/OnePiece'' crossed over, though it is set in an alternate universe where several characters have different roles in which they interact.
* In an odd case of anime crossing over with live-action series, ''Manga/CrayonShinChan'' has crossed over with two ''Franchise/KamenRider'' series, once with ''Series/KamenRiderDenO'' and again with ''Series/KamenRiderFourze''.
* In the manga ''Manga/DigimonVTamer01'' are a total of 3 non-canon crossovers, each being about a hero of the current digimon anime series being space warped and ending up battling an extremely powerful digimon together with Taichi and Zero.
* One episode of ''Manga/DragonBall'' (and the chapters it is based on) took place in [[Manga/DoctorSlump Penguin Village]].
** ''Manga/DoctorSlump''[='s=] 1997 remake anime has Goku visit Penguin Village. The difference is that Arale is now a main character while Goku is a guest star, and ArtEvolution.
** ''Many'' years later, Arale appears in ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'', having a brief cameo in Episode 43, before a proper crossover story in Episode 69.
* ''Anime/Dream9SuperCollaborationSpecial'': A one hour special between ''Franchise/OnePiece'', ''Franchise/DragonBall'' and ''Manga/{{Toriko}}'', all of them series featured in the ''Dream 9'' Fuji TV anime block, to celebrate the latter series reaching 100 episodes.
* The authors of ''Manga/FairyTail'' and ''Manga/FlunkPunkRumble'' did a one-shot called Fairy Megane that brought together the main characters from the two series. (The mangaka of the latter used to work as an assistant to the mangaka of the former.)
** Likewise, Fairy Tail crossed over with ''Manga/RaveMaster'', the previous manga series of the author.
** The short-term series ''Manga/{{Heros}}'' is a multi-chapter crossover between ''Fairy Tail'', ''Rave Master'', and the author's most recent work, ''Manga/EdensZero''.
** The authors of Fairy Tail and ''Manga/TheSevenDeadlySins'' worked together to make a few cross over chapters.
* ''Manga/{{Gintama}}'' and ''Manga/SketDance'', due to the latter's anime airing in the timeslot of the former's crossed over in two oneshots related to each other: in the first one, the Yorozuya end up in the Sket Dan's room and each group comments on each other's antics; in the second one, Bossun and Gintoki end up competing to get a [[Franchise/OnePiece Devil Fruit]]. This also got carried to each series' anime.
* Creator/GoNagai has frequently crossed his different works (mainly his HumongousMecha series) over since the seventies. Some of the main instances are:
** ''Anime/MazingerZ'' and ''Franchise/{{Devilman}}'' in Mazinger vs Devilman movie.
** ''Anime/GreatMazinger'' and ''Manga/GetterRobo'' in the movies: Great Mazinger vs Manga/GetterRobo, and Great Mazinger vs Getter Robo G.
** Great Mazinger and ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer'' in the movie: Great Mazinger vs Grendizer
** Great Mazinger, Getter Robo G and ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer'' in the movie: Grendizer, Getter Robo G, Great Mazinger: Kessen! Daikaijuu.
** Mazinger Z, Devilman and ''Manga/ViolenceJack'' in the Anime/CBCharaGoNagaiWorld OVA series.
** Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, UFO Robo Grendizer, Getter Robo and ''Anime/KotetsuJeeg'' in the ''Manga/SuperRobotRetsuden'' manga penned by Creator/KenIshikawa.
** Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Grendizer, Getter Robo G, Kotetsu Jeeg, ''GroizerX'', ''Anime/PsychoArmorGovarian'', ''Anime/GodMazinger'' and ''Anime/{{Mazinkaiser}}'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdPgpgZPQl8 in an promotional video]].
** Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, UFO Robo Grendizer, Getter Robo, Getter Robo G, Devilman and Cutey Honey in the Dynamic Heroes e-manga (also known as Nagai Go Manga Gaiden - Dynamic Heroes or Go Nagai manga heroes crossover collection - Dynamic Heroes), an e-manga released in 2004 and later compiled in tankoubon.
** Getter Robo and Devilman in the "Devilman vs Getter Robo" manga. At the end of it, Akira and Miki lampshade the trope, joking about whom they will visit the next time.
** There was also an OVA chronicling a crossover between Devilman and the cast of Creator/ShotaroIshinomori's ''Manga/Cyborg009'' titled: ''Anime/Cyborg009VsDevilman''.
* Usually with crossovers, they usually are from the franchises having the same author or from the same company. ''Anime/IsekaiQuartet'' follows the latter because the anime crosses four different franchises owned by Kadokawa, with ''Literature/ReZero'', ''Literature/Overlord2012'', ''Literature/TheSagaOfTanyaTheEvil'', and ''Literature/KonoSuba''. The second season adds ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'' and ''Literature/TheHeroIsOverpoweredButOverlyCautious'' to the mix.
* ''Manga/InTheHeartOfKunoichiTsubaki'' had a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=832HwRM-R8I promotional crossover]] with sister series ''Manga/TeasingMasterTakagiSan'' where Takagi is accidentally brought into Tsubaki's world and swap outfits before the former returns back to her world.
* ''Anime/ShatteredAngels'' is Kaishaku's go at it with his past works, most notably ''Manga/DestinyOfTheShrineMaiden'' and ''Manga/UFOPrincessValkyrie''.
* Creator/LeijiMatsumoto's works. Like with Creator/{{CLAMP}}, everything is in the same [[Anime/{{Leijiverse}} universe]] ([[Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato Yamato]] and [[Manga/CaptainHarlock Harlock]] and [[Manga/GalaxyExpress999 Maetel]] and [[Manga/QueenEmeraldas Emeraldas]] and Manga/QueenMillennia...), but [[ContinuitySnarl details do not match]] (Tochiro died in three different ways already).
* ''Franchise/LupinIII'':
** One could argue this is the premise of the series itself: Lupin from ''Literature/ArseneLupin'', Jigen is Creator/JamesCoburn from ''[[Film/TheMagnificentSeven1960 The Magnificent Seven]]'', Goemon is descended from UsefulNotes/IshikawaGoemon, Fujiko was the DisposableLoveInterest from ''Film/JamesBond'', Zenigata is descended from ''Zenigata Heiji Covers all of Edo''.
** ''Anime/LupinIIIVsDetectiveConan'', a crossover movie with... you guessed it ''Manga/CaseClosed''. Not only works, but also feels like a remake of Anime/TheCastleOfCagliostro. Go figure. Happened again with ''Anime/LupinIIIVsDetectiveConanTheMovie''.
** Lupin and his gang appeared in ''[[Manga/{{Kochikame}} Super Kochikame]]'', a special manga volume for Kochi's 30th anniversary in 2006. The Lupin segment was co-authored by Osami Akimoto and Monkey Punch.
** Episode 101 of the second ''Lupin the Third'' TV anime featured Oscar from ''Manga/TheRoseOfVersailles'', premiering one month before her own anime, also making her a crossover EarlyBirdCameo.
** Another crossover film, ''Anime/LupinIIIVsCatsEye'', which crosses over ''Lupin III'' and, you guessed it, ''Cat's Eye'', as they coincidentally aim for the same trio of paintings.
* The different stories in the Franchise/NasuVerse are all colliding in a hilarious new AffectionateParody called ''Anime/CarnivalPhantasm''. The first episode featured the characters of ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'' finding out that the Holy Grail War had become a game show. Numerous people from throughout the Franchise/NasuVerse can be seen in the audience.
** And now there is going to be an OVA crossover with all three.
* Speaking of the Franchise/NasuVerse, in 2010, the main writer of the ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'' franchise has produced two crossover one-shot mangas, ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight×Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha'' and ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha×Manga/FateKaleidLinerPrismaIllya''. The titles are rather self-explanatory.
* ''Franchise/OnePiece'' and ''Manga/{{Toriko}}'' have crossed over three times in anime so far, the first special (which was animated) took place pre-Timeskip in ''One Piece'', while the other two take place post. Both authors are real good friends so there's a chance that the crosses are canon. The third one adds ''Franchise/DragonBall'' to the mix.
** In manga, they crossed over in ''One Piece X Toriko: The True Food! Devil Fruit!!'', in which Toriko finds what appears to be a Devil Fruit, has Komatsu try to cook it to taste it better... oh, and he gets ingredients with Luffy.
* ''Anime/PrettyCureAllStars'' crosses over all the existing Pretty Cure series in one big movie. This has gone from one movie teaming four teams to ''five'' movies featuring ''eight'' teams.
** And then a canonical crossover happened in ''Anime/HugttoPrettyCure'', much to the amazement of fans everywhere.
* ''Manga/SgtFrog'': Aside from all the references and homages to other series, ''Keroro Gunso'' has had several crossovers with other series which had direct participation from Mine Yoshizaki in their production.
** Melody Honey actually originated from ''Manga/SevenOfSeven'' and also appeared in ''Manga/ArcadeGamerFubuki'' before her animated appearances in Keroro.
** On the other hand, Mutsumi and Omiyo appeared in ''Manga/SevenOfSeven'' after debuting in Keroro's manga. However, that was actually their first animated appearance too.
** The Keroro manga had frequent cameo appearances by Fubuki, from ''Arcade Gamer Fubuki'', and her best friend in the background of several scenes. Eventually, there was a full blown cross over chapter where Fubuki beat Keroro in an arcade game. Fubuki only makes a single brief background cameo in the anime.
** In the Fubuki anime, one of the finalists of the videogame tournament which is at the center of the story looks suspiciously like Kururu in a Pekopon suit.
*** Natsumi and a Keroro plush had guest appearances in the ''Arcade Gamer Fubuki'' manga. Keroro plushies are also seen in the anime.
** 'Space X Jyubei', main character of an obscure manga by Mine Yoshizaki, had a guest appearance during the chapter which introduces Dororo in the manga, listed among the aliens on Earth. He was absent from the anime version of the story.
*** In the single volume of the 'Space X Jyubei' manga, the last chapter is actually a complete crossover with Keroro, featuring not only Keroro, but also Fuyuki and Natsumi in main roles.
** Angol Fear, Mois' cousin, debuted in ''Soul Calibur IV'', but her backstory always referenced Keroro, mentioning Mois, who'd come to Earth after her. She eventually would go on to appear in the ''Keroro Gunso'' manga itself.
** Keroro plushies and toys are seen in ''Manga/LuckyStar'', and there's even an episode preview where Keroro, Tamama and Giroro take control of the narration.
* As with some above examples, ''Magazine/{{Shonen Jump}}'' had crossed over some of its series for a while:
** ''Nisekyuu!!'', a crossover between ''Manga/{{Nisekoi}}'' and ''Manga/{{Haikyuu}}'', in which the main characters of each series meet each other in a beach volleyball tournament.
** ''Korosensei vs. Saiki Kusuo ~Showdown in Iruma~'', crossing over ''Manga/AssassinationClassroom'' and ''Manga/TheDisastrousLifeOfSaikiK'', which, as the title states, has a brief confrontation between the title characters set in Iruma (partly because the authors of both series hail from there).
** ''Manga/FoodWars'' had a multiple crossover one-shot titled ''A Magnificent Banquet'', in which Erina Nakiri is the host of a banquet where the attendees are other Jump heroines whose series had anime adaptations at the time: [[Manga/OnePiece Nami]], [[Manga/AssassinationClassroom Irina Jelavić]], [[Manga/{{Nisekoi}} Chitoge Kirisaki]], [[Manga/{{Gintama}} Kagura]], [[Manga/WorldTrigger Chika Amatori]], and [[Manga/{{Haikyuu}} Kiyoko Shimizu]].
** ''Manga/{{Kochikame}}'' had a big series of collaborations for its 30th Anniversary in 2006, known as ''Super Kochikame'', among them with ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'', ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'', ''Manga/DeathNote'', and even from outside the Jump magazine like the aforementioned ''Manga/LupinIII'' and ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'', several of them lampshading the series and Ryotsu's comical and legendary status.
*** Later, to honor the ending AND the 40th anniversary of ''Kochikame'', the manga had no less than ''eleven'' collaborations with the likes of (in order of release) ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'', ''Manga/TheDisastrousLifeOfSaikiK'', ''Manga/SamonTheSummoner'', ''Manga/FoodWars'', ''Manga/{{Toriko}}'', ''Manga/{{Beelzebub}}'', ''Manga/IsobeIsobeeMonogatari'', ''Manga/{{Nisekoi}}'', ''Manga/SketDance'', ''Manga/NuraRiseOfTheYokaiClan'', and ''Manga/AssassinationClassroom'', of which the ones with ''My Hero Academia'', ''Sket Dance'', ''Food Wars'', ''Samon The Summoner'', and ''Toriko'' are full-blown cross-overs, though all of them still lampshade the legendary status of the series.
* In honor of Shounen Sunday's 50th anniversary, the publisher released a DVD including three {{OVA}}s for their three most popular animes: ''Manga/InuYasha'', ''Manga/UruseiYatsura'', and ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf''. The DVD also included [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bhBU07b2YM&feature=related this]] animated short, where the main characters of the three series met up. HilarityEnsues.
* The original manga of ''Manga/SleepyPrincessInTheDemonCastle'' and ''Manga/KomiCantCommunicate'' crossed over in two bonus chapters: [[https://manga4life.com/read-online/Maou-Jou-De-Oyasumi-chapter-52-page-13.html in one of them]], looking for a new sleeping place, Syalis ends in Komi's room and mistakes the latter for a demon (her communication issues don't help); [[https://manga4life.com/read-online/Komi-san-Wa-Komyushou-Desu-chapter-72-page-14.html in the other]], Komi wakes up in the Demon Castle and is mistaken by Quilladillo and Minotaur for a real (and much more cooperative) Princess (again, her communication issues do not help), and ends off meeting and sleeping alongside Syalis in her cell (however, it ended up being AllJustADream).
** Chapter 188 of ''Sleepy Princess In The Demon Castle'', "Happy 50th Anniversary", is aptly titled as such because it is a crossover with ''Manga/{{Doraemon}}'' to commemorate the latter's 50th Anniversary. Here, Doraemon and Nobita wind up in the Demon Castle and Syalis, after getting her loot of sleep stuff confiscated by Twilight and Demon Cleric, sees Doraemon's Four-Dimentional Pocket and swipes it. HilarityEnsues.
* ''Anime/SuzysZooDaisukiWitzy'': Apparently Sanrio has attempted to cross this series with ''My Melody'' at one point, and one costumed live appearance in Japan featured the cast appearing alongside ''WesternAnimation/ShaunTheSheep''.
* ''Anime/TurnAGundam'' acts as one for all of the Gundam shows that came before it. Universal Century mobile suits are excavated and used by the protagonists while newer mobile suits use technology from Universal Century. And near the end of the series, [[spoiler:the Black History is revealed to be every single Gundam series, both before and after Turn A.]]
* In a very rare (and very weird) anime/live-action crossover, the fishing-themed anime ''Manga/TsuribakaNisshi'' had one with ''Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger''. It formed a cross-series two-parter with the Abarangers appearing animated in the 31st episode of ''Tsuribaka Nisshi'' and Hamazaki entering the Abarangers' world complete with the RogerRabbitEffect in the 26th episode of ''Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger''.
* ''Manga/UntilDeathDoUsPart'' has characters and organizations from ''Manga/YamiNoAegis'', by a different author.
* ''Anime/{{Voltron}}: The Fleet of Doom'', a TV special made for American audience which had Lion Voltron and Vehicle Voltron working together to battle the allied forces of King Zarkon and the Drule Empire.
* ''Literature/WheresWally in One Piece'', a collaboration poster released in the July 19, 2021 issue of "Weekly Shonen Jump" as part of the ''One Piece 100 We Are ONE'' project (held by Shueisha in commemoration of the manga's 100th volume). The scene on the poster was set on Onigashima and featured a mix of ''One Piece'' and ''Where's Wally?'' characters, and the official Twitter account for Oda's staff also posted parts of the illustration and held a giveaway for people who could find specific characters on the poster.
* The fourth ''Anime/YokaiWatch'' film, titled ''Anime/YokaiWatchShadowsideTheReturnOfTheOniKing'' has a crossover with ''Manga/GeGeGeNoKitaro'' as part of its plot, as [[spoiler:Natsume, Akinori, and Jibanyan seek the help of Kitaro and his family in order to purge Touma's darkness and extract the [[ArtifactOfDoom Kigan Gear]]]].
