Troika Games was a US-based video game developer studio founded by three disgruntled Creator/InterplayEntertainment employees in 1997. The word "troika" is [[GratuitousRussian Russian]] for "[[RuleOfThree three of a kind]]" and refers to the three co-founders: Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, and Jason D. Anderson -- the lead designer, artist, and coder on ''VideoGame/{{Fallout 2}}'', respectively, who simultaneously left Interplay during its production over a conflict with the studio management. The studio closed in 2005, after releasing an ironic total of three games, all of which have since become {{cult classic}}s of the WesternRPG genre.
