Anthony Howard Goldwyn (born May 20, 1960) is an American actor and director from Los Angeles, California. Making his debut in 1986, he's best known as Carl Bruner in ''Film/{{Ghost|1990}}'', the adulterous President Fitzgerald Grant in ''Series/{{Scandal}}'', and the voice of Tarzan in the [[WesternAnimation/{{Tarzan}} Disney animated film of the same name]].

Goldwyn was Hollywood royalty from birth, being the grandson of the late Creator/MetroGoldwynMayer producer Samuel Goldwyn and the late actress Frances Howard, as well as the son of the late producer Samuel Goldwyn Jr. and the late actress Jennifer Howard. His older brother, John, worked as a Creator/{{Paramount}} executive in the '90s and his half-brother, Peter, currently owns the Samuel Goldwyn Company.

He has also directed several films, including ''Film/TheLastKiss'' (starring Creator/ZachBraff) and ''Film/{{Conviction|2010}}'' (starring Creator/HilarySwank), and episodes of various television series, including ''Series/TheLWord'', ''Series/{{Dexter}}'' and ''Series/{{Scandal}}''.

!!Tony Goldwyn's works provide examples of:
* ChronicallyKilledActor: The characters Goldwyn played in ''Film/FridayThe13thPartVIJasonLives'', ''Film/{{Ghost|1990}}'', ''Film/TheLastSamurai'', ''Series/LawAndOrderCriminalIntent'', ''Film/KissTheGirls'', and ''Series/{{Dexter}}'' all die. In addition, the character he played in ''Series/DesigningWomen'' was dying with AIDS, and his character in ''Series/{{Scandal}}'' is initially on his deathbed. Ultimately [[SubvertedTrope subverted]], though, since the character is alive and well as of the season 3 finale.
* FamilyBusiness: His grandfather, Samuel Goldwyn Sr., was one of the founders of Creator/{{MGM}}. His father was a movie producer, his mother and grandmothers were actresses, his maternal grandfather was a playwright, and his brothers and sisters are movie producers.
* PrettyFlyForAWhiteGuy: Just search his name on Website/{{Tumblr}}, and you'll notice that a large number of black female Tumblr users fawn over him (mainly due to his role as Fitzgerald Grant, who pines over his black former Communications Director, Olivia Pope.)
