[[JustForFun/DescribeTopicHere Describe Tiffany Grant here?]] [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion What are you, stupid?!]]

Tiffany Lynn Grant (born October 11, 1968) is an American actress and writer, known for her English dubbing work with Creator/ADVFilms (and its successor Creator/SentaiFilmworks) on such anime films and television series as ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'', in which she voiced the character Asuka Langley Soryu. Grant is also known for portraying Altena in ''Anime/{{Noir}}'' and Ryoko Subaru in ''Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico''. Although she appeared in several ADV works, she is an independent contractor. A native UsefulNotes/{{Houston}}ian, Grant began her voice acting career in 1994 when she voiced Raina in ''Anime/GuyDoubleTarget'' and thus has the distinction of being the first anime voice actress from Texas.

Grant, along with a handful of other ADV contractors, also works with Fort Worth-based anime distributor Creator/{{Funimation}} on series such as ''Anime/FullmetalAlchemist2003''. Grant enjoyed her role as Asuka so much that she became a professional ''Evangelion'' {{fangirl}}. She briefly reprised the character in the radio plays and fan-produced anime derived from the fanfiction series ''Fanfic/NeonGenesisEvangelionR''. She has also reprised her role once again in the ''Rebuild of Evangelion'' films. She has also cosplayed as Asuka (in Asuka's familiar red EVA-02 plugsuit and her school uniform) at anime conventions. Also, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzvIn0mdXtY her bedroom]] is ''completely'' covered in Asuka merchandise. She also became friends with Creator/YukoMiyamura, the Japanese voice of Asuka.

It has been thought the main reason Grant got the role as Juli Mizrahi in ''[[VideoGame/{{Xenosaga}} Xenosaga: The Animation]]'' was because many fans mistook her voice for that of Juli in the original game.

It should also be noted that Grant is [[BilingualBonus quite fluent in the German language]], hence the better implementation of Asuka's German dialogue in the English dub of ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion''.

Besides doing voice-over work, Grant has also appeared in live-action films as well as theater plays.

She married ADV's co-founder Matt Greenfield in 2003 and they divorced in 2018. That year, she moved to UsefulNotes/{{Atlanta}}, Georgia; she still does voice-over work there and in Houston.

!!Tiffany Grant's works provide examples of:
%% Remember, creators don't get trivia pages. Trivia items on this page should stay here.
* BilingualBonus: She has extensive knowledge in fluency in German, which transfers into her German character roles like [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Asuka]], [[Manga/ChronoCrusade Satella]], [[Literature/SisterPrincess Haruka]], [[VisualNovel/MajikoiLoveMeSeriously Christine Freidrich]], and [[Literature/InfiniteStratos Laura Bodewig]] that either requires her to speak in a German accent or speak in German phrases.
* TheCastShowoff: Being fluent in German, Grant takes many opportunities in the original dub of ''Evangelion'' to pepper Asuka's speech with German phrases, and in one episode, carries an entire phone conversation in German.
* CreatorCouple: She married ADV co-founder Matt Greenfield in 2003 and would remain together until their divorce 14 years later.
* DawsonCasting: Grant first voiced Asuka at age 27 during the recording sessions of ''Neon Genesis Evangelion'' in 1996 and would go on to voice the character in all subsequent incarnations, with the exception of the Netflix release of the original TV series. By the time the third ''Anime/RebuildOfEvangelion'' film was released in February 2016, she was 47 years old.
* DVDCommentary: She has provided audio commentaries for the DVD releases for the ''Evangelion'' Platinum editions and ''Gunsmith Cats'', as well as the home media release of the second ''Rebuild'' film.
* GratuitousGerman: She sprinkles a bit of German in her work involving such characters as Laura Bodewig, Asuka Langley Sohryu and Satella Harvenheit.
* LargeHam: She pulls off over-the-top histrionics quite well, which is perfect for her more emotional roles such as Asuka.
* PigeonholedVoiceActor:
** Most of the characters she voices tend to be badasses or CoolBigSis. Bonus points that some of them tend to be a bit hotheaded.
** Need someone to voice a German girl or woman in a Houston or Dallas based dub, hire this woman!
** She also voiced a ''metric ton'' of [[MechaShow mecha pilots]], to the point she was a shoo-in for all the mecha series ADV licenced. Quite understandably Grant has a big soft spot for the genre.
* PlayingAgainstType: While Grant isn't a stranger to voicing cute girls in the past, ''VisualNovel/LittleBusters'' have her voice Kudryavka Noumi, the resident TokenMiniMoe, where she not only attempts a Russian accent with the said character, but also making her sound cute at the same time with a higher-pitch voice. She also voices Altena in ''Anime/{{Noir}}''.
* PromotedFangirl:
** A fan of the ''Franchise/HelloKitty'' franchise, Grant wrote the scripts for ''Hello Kitty's Animation Theater'', in which she also starred as Pochacco.
** Her collection of Asuka merchandise fills multiple rooms.
* RomanceOnTheSet: Grant met her future husband, Matt Greenfield, when she auditioned for ADV's first dubbed title, ''Anime/GuyDoubleTarget'', in 1994; they married nine years later.
* SheAlsoDid:
** While Grant is known for her voice-over work, she's also worked in both live-action and theater work. Most notably, she appeared as an uncredited graduate student in ''Film/ArlingtonRoad'' as well as Alicia Dimsdale in ''Laughing Boy''.
** Her first role was Reina in ''Anime/GuyDoubleTarget'', which was an early hentai dub.
%% * StarMakingRole: Asuka Langley Soryu in ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion''.
* ThrowItIn: When it comes to writing an ADR script for dubs produced by ADV and/or Sentai Filmworks, Grant often includes German dialogue for some characters like Asuka and Laura, given her fluency in the German language.
%%* {{Tsundere}}: Played quite a few of these in her works.
%%* WomanOfAThousandVoices: Grant is known for her wide range of voices.
