Sunwoo Entertainment is a UsefulNotes/South Korean animation studio based in UsefulNotes/Seoul. They started doing animation in 1979 (though they existed as a company as early as March 1974), first working on South Korean productions, then for Creator/Disney nearly a decade later and have since become one of the busier overseas animation studios.

Back in TheNineties, Sunwoo had a few companies spun-off from it: Anivision (in March 1991 (and an American branch opened later)), Grimsaem (in March 1997), and Sunwoo Digital International (in April 1998). In April 2000, however, the spin-offs were all sucked back into the main studio(Although that didn't stop some shows, notably the ones from Creator/KlaskyCsupo, to still credit the defunct studios even after the merger). Sunwoo has a subsidiary in the Philippines, as well as a studio in Singapore called Sunwoo Asia Pacific. They also have a toy company (Named Mocom Toys; making them one of two Korean animation studios that owns a toy company)the other being Creator/HanhoHeungUp, responsible for releasing Creator/Hasbro's Franchise/Transformers toys (as well as stuff for WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends, Anime/Hamtaro, Creator/Disney and others).

In addition to Disney, Sunwoo and its spin-offs have also worked for Creator/Universal, Creator/CookieJarEntertainment, Creator/TwentiethCenturyFox, and, of course, Creator/Nickelodeon and Creator/KlaskyCsupo.

Compare Creator/ToonCity (another studio that got its start with Disney), Creator/TMSEntertainment, Creator/WangFilmProductions, Creator/RoughDraftStudios, the Creator/WaltDisneyAnimationUnits, Creator/VargaStudio and Creator/KennedyCartoons, other studios that Sunwoo and its spin-offs have worked alongside.

!!Tropes found in the works of Sunwoo and its spin offs:
%%* AllCGICartoon: Sofia the First, Special Agent Oso, Ted & Dory Detectives, Wild Animal Baby Explorers, Noonbory.
* AnimationBump: Grimsaem's feature film work, as well as their work on WesternAnimation/Recess.
** When Anivision replaced Wang Film on Rugrats, the animation quality improved greatly.
** They had the fullest animation of the three studios on Baby Blues.
* Animesque: WesternAnimation/MetaJets, Mix Master, Spin Kicker and Yobi.
* DerangedAnimation: Plenty of moments in Aaahh! Real Monsters.
* HowTheMightyHaveFallen: Disney, one of their biggest clients, has moved away from them. The Simpsons dumped them in 1999. Creator/KlaskyCsupo is no longer active in the TV animation field. Family Guy now prefers working with Creator/YearimProductions and Creator/DigitalEMation. Nickelodeon hasn't used them in quite some time. In general, the studio doesn't have nearly as many projects as it once did, with almost all of them being made for domestic Korean audiences.
* ProductionPosse: Most of Creator/KlaskyCsupo's work was animated by Sunwoo and its divisions.
** When Sunwoo was first formed, Disney wanted Sunwoo to work exclusively with them, but Sunwoo rejected the offer because they knew what potential there was for working with more than one studio. Still, Sunwoo did extensive work for Disney, working on most of their shows during the '90s and early 2000's.
