Rooster Teeth is a {{machinima}} studio, [[TropeMaker famous for pioneering the genre]] and being its most mainstream success. Founded on April 1st, 2003, with the release of the first episode of ''Machinima/RedVsBlue'', they gained popularity through this series, especially when they became officially endorsed by Creator/{{Bungie}} and Creator/{{Microsoft}} in using ''VideoGame/{{Halo}}'' for their machinima. Today, Rooster Teeth is separated into two groups:

* The normal [[http://www.roosterteeth.com Rooster Teeth]] Productions is used for ''Red vs. Blue'' and all of their original shorts.
* [[http://www.achievementhunter.com Achievement Hunter]] is a website that broadcasts how-to guides on how to get various achievements in {{Xbox 360}} games, along with a YouTube-based series that invokes LetsPlay videos and other nonsense. As of April 15, 2013, they have created a separate channel for all of their LetsPlay stuff called [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Let's Play]]. The channel can be found [[http://www.youtube.com/user/LetsPlay here.]]

Its YMMV page is found [[YMMV/RoosterTeeth here]].

!! Notable works include:

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:Machinima works]]
* ''Machinima/RedVsBlue'', made using various ''Franchise/{{Halo}}'' titles and even ''VideoGame/{{Marathon}}'' for a couple of sections. Currently working on Season 11.
* ''TheStrangerhood'', a SitCom-esque series based on ''VideoGame/TheSims 2''.
* ''P.A.N.I.C.S.'', a miniseries based on the game VideoGame/FirstEncounterAssaultRecon. The acronym stands for People Acting Normal In Crazy-ass Situations.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Achievement Hunter]]
* It is also home to ''VideoGame/{{Halo 4}} [[EpicFail Fails]] of the [[{{Pun}} Weak]]'', where (usually) Jack and Geoff comment on and laugh at ''Halo 4'' players' submitted video mistakes as well as weird things related to latency in multiplayer sessions and AI mishaps in the game. Originally, the series covered ''VideoGame/HaloReach'' fails until the 117th episode on December 14, 2012 which started covering ''Halo 4'' fails.
* It also houses ''Achievement HORSE/PIG'', where Jack, Geoff, and other Rooster Teeth employees play one-on-one in user-created ''VideoGame/{{Halo 4}}'' and ''[[{{Trials}} Trials Evolution]]'' maps with various objectives in the style of the basketball game. Like ''Fails of the Weak'', it started with ''VideoGame/HaloReach'' before it expanded to those two games, though ''Reach'' was dropped sooner here on ''Halo Achievement HORSE'' episode 100.
* There's also ''AHWU'' (''Achievement Hunter Weekly Update''), where user-submitted intros are used to begin a weekly round-up of video game news and releases as described by the Rooster Teeth staff.
* They also do ''[[Funny/RoosterTeeth hilarious]]'' LetsPlay videos under the Achievement Hunter name, especially the ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' ones. As you saw above, these became so popular that they've created a new Website/YouTube channel for these.
* A new Achievement Hunter series called ''VS'' has each regular member of the Achievement Hunter crew go one-on-one against one another in a game to win a fake Wrestling/{{WWE}} Championship belt for a week. Each episode, the challenger gets to pick which game that he and the current champion plays.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live Action works]]
* ''RoosterTeethShorts'', a webseries that depicts the company's staff in... unusual situations.
* ''{{Immersion}}'', a webseries where Burnie and Griffon decide to test various video game facts on Geoff and Gus, seeing if they would work in real life. After a long hiatus, a second season featuring the tests this time on Gavin and Michael is in the works.
* ''PastCast'', the Website/YouTube blogs of historical figures.
* ''R.T. Life'', which are videos the employees make of the various antics they get up to instead of working.
* ''The Gauntlet'', a series where several gamers take each other on in a video game tournament similar to a reality television show in order to win ten thousand dollars, with Burnie as the Games Master and Brooke, Caleb, Gus, and Joel as team coaches.
* ''A Simple Walk (Into Mordor)'', where Chris and Kerry have six days to walk from Hobbiton to Mordor - or rather, their respective filming locations.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Rooster Teeth Podcast (Formerly "Drunk Tank")]]
* Rooster Teeth's main podcast which, "On a more-or-less weekly basis, the Rooster Teeth (creators of Red vs Blue) crew discuss gaming, films and projects that they are currently working on." However it sometimes will go a bit off-topic into more general news and occasionally into the personal, and quite often strange, experiences of the RT staff and guests to the show. If the recent video format podcasts are any indication, the recording room is well stocked with beer and liquor, some of which is sent in by fans, just as the former title [[MeaningfulName ''Drunk Tank'' suggests]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Other]]
* ''Rooster Teeth Animated Adventure'', a webseries that turns the funny bits of the Roosterteeth Podcast into a cartoon. Animated by Jordan Cwierz.
* ''NatureTown'', a webseries that stars various animals voiced by members of the Rooster Teeth staff.
* ''RoosterTeethComics'', A comic series about the Rooster Teeth staff's daily life. Written by Griffon Ramsey and drawn by Luke [=McKay=], the series ended in Summer 2011 and the Year Five print book will round out the collection by the Christmas season.
* ''Rage Quit'', named after RageQuit, of course, which features a man who completely loses it while playing frustrating games. Watch Michael go nuts over such tropes as InsurmountableWaistHighFence, OneHitPointWonder and others!
* ''[=GameFails=]'', a spin off of sorts to the ''Fails of the Weak'', focusing on all sorts of fails from various games caused by glitches, player error or just flat out poor timing.
* ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'', A new series created by Monty Oum and produced by RoosterTeeth, first shown as a trailer after the final episode of RedVsBlue Season 10. The first episode will be shown at RTX in the summer of 2013. The three current trailers (Red, White and Black) can be found [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYW2GmHB5xs here]], [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt9vl8iAN5Q&list=PL6F549CF4B03E7BAC here]] and [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImKCt7BD4U4 here]].

!! Rooster Teeth as a whole is an example of:

* {{Adorkable}}: Gavin, Miles, Kerry, Chris, Kara, Lindsay, and Barbara. To a degree, everyone, but those are the ones that often stand out.
* AscendedFanboy:
** Well, they had nothing to do with ''Franchise/{{Halo}}'' to start with, then after the series took off {{Creator/Bungie}} started taking notice. By the time ''VideoGame/{{Halo 3}}'' came out they were getting cameos, and the gametype they invented (Grifball) recently got its own playlist in the last Bungie-made title, ''VideoGame/HaloReach''.
** They've also hired their own talented fans for various projects:
*** Luke [=McKay=] was hired for an official comic strip based on his fan art. He continued doing this for about three or so years.
*** Gavin Free was a forum moderator turned intern turned ''[=RvB=]'' director. He now works primarily for Achievement Hunter.
*** Ben King was hired to code the website at 15 after creating some impressive unofficial ''[=RvB=]''-related web applications.
*** MontyOum was a huge fan of ''RedVsBlue'' before being hired as the series' lead animator.
*** Michael Jones was discovered by Rooster Teeth when his ''{{Crackdown}} 2'' Orbs video got to the top of r/gaming on {{Reddit}}. They were so impressed by it and Michael's other Website/YouTube videos that they gave his own show, ''Rage Quit'', and eventually hired him full-time for Achievement Hunter.
*** Barbara Dunkelman has been a long-time forum member and often volunteered to help out at events. She was recently formally hired.
*** Ray Narvaez Jr. made AH community videos long before he was officially hired for Achievement Hunter.
* AgonyOfTheFeet: In "A Simple Walk Into Mordor", much emphasis is given to the abuse Chris, Kerry, and Nick's feet take on the hike.
* AwesomeYetImpractical: In "Let's Play Minecraft" #33, they show off the Achievement Racetrack, complete with shortcuts. However, when they finally use them (well, ''Geoff'' uses them), it's revealed that they're more "slowcuts" than anything else.
* BadassBeard: Jack has an awesome lumberjack beard, which he sometimes compliments with flannel shirts.
* BadBoss: PlayedForLaughs with Geoff.
-->'''Geoff''': I think I may have the three dumbest employees ever.
-->'''Michael''': To be fair, you hired all of us.
* BatmanGambit: Geoff pulls one off that gets derailed and rerailed when he attempts to follow Jack and steal the win in "building a portal to the Nether". He gets lost and loses Jack, but when Jack builds the portal, only to get killed through a combination of getting crushed by gravel and Michael attacking him, Geoff finds it and finally makes the win.
** In the Potions Let's Play, when Gavin and Michael are about to win, Ray teams up with Jack to kill Gavin and Michael. Gavin runs away as Michael stays back to defeat Jack and Ray, when Ray seemingly leaves Jack to be killed, only to be revealed to have caught up to Gavin, murdering him and making the two lose all their items.
-->'''Jack''': Ray where are you?
-->'''Ray''': I'm sorry, I'm sorry!
* BewareTheSillyOnes: When Gavin gets his shit together for games, you had better run. Doubles as CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass.
* BigNo: Michael goes to town with three large ones in a row before going into the PunctuatedPounding mentioned below.
* BrickJoke: Early in episode 2 of their ''Minecraft'' series, Geoff made a hole in the roof of Ray's house so he could get inside much more easily. A good ten minutes later, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tihfx6DunZs&feature=player_detailpage#t=769s we get this]].
** Where's Joel?
* BriefAccentImitation: Michael and Geoff mimic the Oxfordshire-born Gavin so often one could probably make a drinking game out of it.
** Gavin once (very briefly) affected an American accent in a video with Geoff.
* BritishAccents: Gavin has one.
* ButtMonkey:
** Michael is one among the RT staff, as he usually suffers for the amusement of the RT audience. Some of his exploits include getting a bowl of ketchup dunked on him, eating a whole [[FireBreathingDiner ghost pepper]], and eating a big, wooden spoonful of cinnamon. As Miles said, "He's pretty much become the Johnny Knoxville of Rooster Teeth."
** Joel, Jack and Brandon are constantly insulted on the podcast.
** Gavin also recieves lots of crap from everyone whenever he is in town, mostly for being English. No one will let him forget his "headlight fluid" gaffe either.
** If RT Intern Mike isn't fetching coffee for everyone or getting yelled at, he's doing stupid things, like jumping over his own leg, for the staff's entertainment.
* CallBack: The Achievement Hunters have a multitude of recurring self-referential inside jokes.
** Rooster Teeth Animated Adventures often includes clever, split-second references to previous episodes in scenery and incidental objects.
* ChekhovsGun: In Part 2 of their Minecraft ''Let's Play'', Gavin used loads of his gold to build four gold blocks and place them outside a house, jokingly naming it the "Tower of Pimps". Five weeks later, the Tower of Pimps is now the main prize for the winners of their obstacle courses.
** Also in Part 14, Plan G makes a comeback when Gavin uses it in an attempt to stop Ray from building the tower and claiming victory.
** In part 13, Gavin comes across a tower of diamonds, but due to his lack of iron he is unable to mine it. Ray later comes across the same tower with an iron pickaxe, mines the four diamonds, and [[ImplacableMan crafts himself a full set of diamond armour, as well as several diamond tools.]] [[spoiler: This leads to him winning the game in part 14, as nobody else could beat him.]]
** Minecraft Part 19 is ''filled'' with these. They used wool, pistons and red stone to make a gigantic pig and sheep, with brown wool coming out of their rears and a ladder connecting it to the ground. When Gavin was running around, trying to get some supplies, a Creeper blew up near the Pig's ladder. Shortly thereafter, the lever that grows the word "Fart" out of the ground makes a re-appearance. A Creeper chasing Gavin sets off the Plan G bomb and demolishes Achievement City. ''And'' the Wipeout DeathCourse shows up again.
** Minecraft Part 28 has Gavin notice Caleb behind Ryan and going through his chest. Gavin does not think much of it and it is soon forgotten. It becomes this at the end of the video, when Caleb [[TheReveal reveals]] that he was the one who cheated by stealing Michael and Gavin's fishes and placing them in Jack and Ryan's chest.
** The giant stack of mushrooms in ''Minecraft'' ended up being used by the guys as a safehouse for their journey to a Nether Fortress.
** A non-''Minecraft'' example; in ''Left 4 Dead 2'', near the beginning, Gavin pulls out a defibrillator and the guys laugh at how useless it is. Later, he uses the same defibrillator to revive Geoff.
** In one episode of "Things To Do In Minecraft", Geoff and Gavin show off the Hop 'Til You Drop obstacle course. It becomes Geoff's bane in Let's Play Minecraft episode 44 when he teleports himself there via Ender Pearl. In the lava pit portion. ''[[EpicFail with the Tower of Pimps]]''.
** In Let's Play ''Minecraft'' 46, Ray finds a sponge block that was randomly placed in a chest. After he wins a round, he places the sponge next to the Tower of Pimps. Later on, he gets knocked out of the pit the Tower is in, so he tries to get back in by breaking the ice wall, only to release a waterfall in the pit, forcing Geoff to use the no-longer-pointless and very fitting sponge to plug the hole and stop the waterfall.
** During a ''Worms Revolution'' Let's Play, Ray declares a section of the map with most of his worms as his base and sets down a turret which is never used for the rest of the game. Later on, a Bunker Buster used by Gavin which would have blown up Geoff's remaining worm accidentally hits the turret and saves him.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Joel exhibits several traits, notably high eccentricity, speaking in non sequiturs, an apparent inability to explain anything in a straightforward fashion, and getting onto almost unstoppable off-the-wall tangents during podcasts.
* ComedicSociopathy: Achievement Hunter runs on this. To an extent, so does the company as a whole, as best seen in RT Life.
* ComicTrio: The Achievement Hunter Lads at times embody these roles during Let's Plays, with Michael as TheLeader, Gavin as TheFool, and Ray as the OnlySaneMan.
* CrazyHomelessPeople: The staff fairly frequently tell stories on the RT Podcast about encounters with strange homeless people, several of which have been turned into Rooster Teeth Animated Adventures episodes.
** Chris notes in Episode 3 of "A Simple Walk Into Mordor" that he, Nick, and Kerry look like this and sound like this due to their backpacks, smell, hygiene, and talk of going to Mordor.
* CurbStompBattle: Ryan just decimates Michael in Achievement Hunter ''VS'' episode two. In a first-to-twenty-kills deathmatch in ''VideoGame/QuakeIIIArena'', the final score was 20 to ''-4'' in favor of Ryan, and Michael only got one kill on him.
** In episode 4, Geoff challenges Jack to [[VideoGame/{{SegaBassFishing}} Sega Bass Fishing]], an old favorite of Geoff's, and one that Jack had never played. The goal? Catch the biggest fish. [[spoiler: Jack not only catches the biggest fish (at 11 lbs. 7 oz.) 10 minutes in, but goes on to catch another 11 and 9-pounder, compared to Geoff's best fish barely topping 5 lbs. Final score, one bruised ego later: Geoff 13 lbs, Jack 43 lbs.]]
** Achievement Hunter ''VS'' in general. The current titleholder not knowing the challenger's game doesn't help.
* DeadpanSnarker: Ray.
* DeathCourse: Geoff and Gavin designed a ''Wipeout'' style course in ''Minecraft'' for Jack, Ray, and Michael to compete in for the TournamentArc.
* {{Defictionalization}}: The entire point of the "Immersion" series.
* DesignatedDriver: Ray appears to be the only member of the RT staff that doesn't drink. As such, he is at times the only fully sober participant in Let's Plays and RT Podcasts.
* DidNotDoTheBloodyResearch: American fans will say that Gavin swears far less than the other RT staff, but in truth he swears about as much, just in English slang.
* DitzyGenius: Gavin is clever, but he often makes mistakes or slip-ups which make him come across as a bit stupid. Case in point: ''[[NeverLiveItDown headlight fluid]]''.
* DownToTheLastPlay: Minecraft Part 36 ends with the winner, [[spoiler: Ryan]], crafting a potion ''five seconds'' before the next person, [[spoiler: Michael (working with Gavin)]].
-->[[spoiler: '''Gavin''']]: How could I have a four-hour Let's Play and lose in the last five seconds!
* EarlyBirdCameo: Part 15 of the Minecraft Let's Play again has the guys wandering around the Achievement City map, this time stumbling across a handful of half-completed structures of future Let's Plays and Things To Do.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Crops up now and then, but it's most striking in the first ten or so Minecraft LPs, when the normal character skins aren't in use yet and everyone except Gavin is still learning the game.
* EpicFail: While this is true of a lot of gaming videos to varying extents (as well as degrees of their difficulty), Michael in ''Rage Quit'' can occasionally lead to some gems. Or in the ''Let's Play'' series, where he [[VideoGame/{{Worms}} will TNT most of his team off the map]], [[VideoGame/{{Minecraft}} stand in the open while a Creeper is approaching]], and so on.
** While playing ''Minecraft'', the guys lost track of their house, so one of 'em decided to make another one... before turning around to see ''their original house two feet away''.
** In their first Worms game, Michael had one last character to use, so he used a jetpack to get to where Geoff was at.... and then he fell into the water.
** During their second Let's Play of ''Worms'', Ray's last worm single handedly fire punched all 4 of Michael's worms to death through a combination of Michael's incompetence and a lot of luck to win the game.
** Similarly, in the same game, Ray launched an air strike on two worms who were pretty close together, one belonging to Geoff, the other to Gavin, and due to several scant pieces of debris above them, the rockets from the air strike completely missed the two worms, causing almost perfectly placed explosions to go off around them but not deal even a single point of damage.
** In Episode 37, the gang frustratingly had to jump on snow and ice blocks in the sky, mine the Tower of Pimps and place the tower next to a sign with their name on it. Towards the end of the episode, Ray made it to the end and mined the tower. Gavin caught up to Ray while in the middle of constructing the tower, ensuing a fight involving diamond pickaxes. Ray falls off a cliff nearby and Gavin acquires the rest of the tower. He places the rest where Ray left off, only to realize that he placed the rest right next to Ray's name, accidentally declaring Ray the winner. This resulted in an epic scream from Gavin and plenty of jabs from the rest.
** "SURPRISE, MOTHERFUCKER!" ''(Jack falls down a hole.)''
* FailedASpotCheck: Combined with LateToThePunchline. In Episode 28 of "LetsPlay {{Minecraft}}", Michael ends up discovering a picture of two karate guys, wonders when they had this, only to learn that they've had it for the longest time - since episode ''15''.
** Another one happens in Episode 33. Ryan accidentally reverts his boat to a pickup and picks it back up, questioning "Where did my boat go?" as his character ''holds it in his hand''.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: In nearly every AHWU featuring Michael, Gavin, and Ray. While Geoff and Jack are delivering the actual updates, the Lads will seen behind them in the background climbing over each other and the furniture, making all manner of gestures, and often attempting to directly distract Geoff and Jack.
** In the LetsPlay of ''Worms'', Geoff [[HelloInsertNameHere names his worms hilariously inappropriately]] (except for Steve). Thus, the on-screen text at one point, though not commented upon by the guys, reads:
--> Never underestimate the power of The Faaaaaart!
** In "Things To Do In ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoIV'': AAA", during one of the scenes involving one of the broke down motorists, you can see Michael losing control of his helicopter and diving backwards to the ground.
** When playing games with a text chat feature, the AH Lads will type amusing messages to each other, though said messages are almost never commented on by anyone playing the game.
* HairTriggerTemper: Michael, natch.
** Lampshaded by Jack.
-->'''Jack:''' "Everything makes Michael yell and scream."
* TheHero: Despite their incompetence, there are times that the guys turn Badass just long enough to qualify.
** While he's still inept and trollish in {{Minecraft}}, Gavin has taken on himself to be TheHero for a few of the Minecraft LetsPlay. He led the team to the stronghold in episode 25. In episode 26, he and Ray helped to grow a melon. Lastly, in episode 30, he led Geoff to the mushroom.
** At a time where Gavin's trolling kept screwing everybody over (including himself), Michael pretty much carries the team through Mari0.
** Ray during Black Ops Zombies 2. Sans Michael and Ryan, ''everybody'' was TheLoad, and Ray had to turn OneManArmy without any of the top weapons and barely any bonuses to win the game.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Michael and Ray appear to be this, having been [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBLi7x-p6vY&t=00m30s "bros"]] before being officially hired at Rooster Teeth. Although [[HoYay given]] [[FauxYay that]] [[FanService it's]] [[MrFanservice Michael]], the "heterosexual" part often [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1gy2bgey_A&t=03m35s seems]] [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hKWXIah40s&t=00m59s questionable...]]
** These two and Gavin, really (all three being collectively referred to as "Team Lads"). Michael frequently refers to all of the [[PortmanteauCoupleName Mavin]] fiction he's found on the internet, and he and Gavin frequently cooperate in their Minecraft Let's Plays as (the recently coined) "Team Nice Dynamite". Ray and Gavin also are bonded by their aliases as X-Ray and Vav in other Let's Plays. The intersection of all three teams can be seen in [[http://24.media.tumblr.com/b4e83f4db14d4cbfdb51e9fad49552bb/tumblr_mjor2eLMrk1rzb5qco1_500.jpg this piece of fan art]].
* HowDoIShotWeb: Geoff sometimes overlooks obvious in-game mechanics until someone points them out to him.
* HubCity: "Achievement City" in Minecraft. It houses their official homes and an Obsidian block for whenever they win the Tower of Pimps. They've built several obstacle courses around Achievement City, so the rest of the map doesn't go to waste.
* IfItsYouItsOK: In the Animated Adventures video "Bets & Flirts", a very drunk Gavin sort-of comes on to Monty by saying that he's not attracted to guys, but his boner is really trying right now.
* InternetBackdraft: Invoked. At one point, an angry fan sent a rude e-mail to Gus Sorola, the voice of Simmons who also does most of the tech work for the company. In the e-mail, permission was given to show it and the e-mail address of the sender publicly. So rather than shoot back an e-mail telling the person that RoosterTeeth does not, in fact, prevent their videos from being used on Android or that maybe the person in question should be paying attention in French class rather than watching videos, he simply put a copy of the e-mail, swears, slurs and flamebait all, as well as the persons username on the community site and e-mail. He then fulfilled every person's fantasy of getting back at rude people at work when the RT community came down on the kid.
* ItIsPronouncedTroPAY: For a while Ray thought the word coupling was pronounced COO-pling.
** Gavin is regularly mocked for his English pronunciations.
* {{Joisey}}: Michael is originally from New Jersey. He mentions it from time to time in videos and sometimes tells stories from the time he was living there on the Podcast. Though it's faded a bit, he's definitely retained his accent.
* LongingForFictionland: Parodied.
* MathematiciansAnswer: Achievement Hunter plays Infinity Slayer in ''Halo 4'', and this exchange occurs:
--> '''Ray''': ''(after Geoff kills him)'' What?!
--> '''Geoff''': Uh, that was me killing you.
--> '''Ray''': Yeah, thanks, but with what?
--> '''Geoff''': With a gun.
--> '''Ray''': [[SarcasmMode Thanks man.]]
* MsFanservice: Barbara sometimes, though in a RT podcast this trope got lampshaded and defied. (Long story short, a sexist guy said Barbara needed to flash more and she got pissed.)
** MrFanservice: For the girls, Gavin, Joel, Chris, maybe Michael...
* NeverLiveItDown: Invoked on the podcast. Nobody lets Gavin forget the "headlight fluid" mess-up.
* OneManArmy: Halfway through their Part 1 LetsPlay of Terrorist Town, a random server denizen named Shadowiz guns down Ray, Michael, Ryan ''and'' Gavin. He also kills Geoff on account of blowing up and catching Geoff in the line of fire. Ray's body gets thrown around ragdoll style in the air and hanged for good measure. They were so impressed that they still ShoutOut to "Shadles," as they pronounce his name, much later.
* OneOfUs: Rooster Teeth has quite a few celebrity fans.
** The group are friends with Ed Robertson of BarenakedLadies, who guest starred as Captain Flowers in Rvb and Captain Dynamic in a live action three parter.
** Chandler Riggs (Carl from Series/TheWalkingDead) is a huge fan and actually collaborated with Joel and Jack on [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbK4RzhIDyw a Minecraft video.]]
** Creator/ElijahWood loves the show and actually voiced Sigma for Season 10.
* OverlyPrepreparedGag: Geoff and Gavin worked together on ''Minecraft'' for upwards of '''twenty hours''' to pull a standard lava trap on Jack. They both think it was WorthIt.
** In addition, there was also their "failsafe" plan: [[spoiler:the hundreds of TNT blocks underneath Achievement City and the nondescript button used to detonate them.]]
** Episodes 6 and 7 of the Minecraft series was supposed to be a combination of this and a BatmanGambit in that Geoff made the entire competition specifically so he could pull a KaizoTrap on Jack, but Jack became a SpannerInTheWorks by mining somewhere that Geoff wasn't expecting. Geoff still won thanks to Michael's trolling, but he considered it a [[PyrrhicVictory hollow victory]].
** Gavin and Geoff booby trap Ray's house in "Minecraft" so that it fills up with [[BerserkButton cakes.]] It was totally worth it.
* PortmanteauCoupleName: The most popular is Mavin (Michael/Gavin). And they are fully aware of it.
* PunctuatedPounding: Geoff combines this with RapidFireNo after he [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97jTeWcRa4c&feature=player_detailpage#t=22s completely botches an otherwise great jump]] in the London Olympics Let's Play.
** Michael does this after [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=1urXAE3rpEU#t=897s he fails to kill Ray's worm]] ''by one point'' during their ''Worms'' Let's Play.
** Gavin also does this in Minecraft #32, after [[spoiler: Geoff]] beats him for the Tower of Pimps because ''everyone'' ganged up on him.
* PyroManiac: Gavin is a menace with a bucket of lava in Minecraft.
** In the very first Minecraft Let's Play, after everyone works together to build a house, Gavin sets it on fire.
** In the Grifball episode, Gavin spends the first fifteen minutes of video time running around lighting the arena on fire. This is the ''edited'' version, Michael claims it was more like five hours. Half of the arena's exterior is gone by the end of the video.
** Every time Jack wins the Tower Of Pimps, Gavin sets his house on fire in Achievement City.
* TheQuietOne: Nathan Zellner is this--according to Joel and Burnie he will work for hours on end and say two sentences at most.
** Now, Monty is this as well.
* RageQuit: Michael's ''raison d'être''.
* RedOniBlueOni: In Achievement Hunter, Michael is the red and Gavin is the Blue. Doubles as OddFriendship.
* TheRival: Their LetsPlay Worms episodes ultimately boil down to Ray vs Michael. Out of seven rounds, Michael won three and Ray won four. In fact, at different points, ''both'' won ''three in a row''.
* RubberHoseLimbs: Everyone in the Animated Adventures has these.
* RunningGag: In the Animated Adventures, pretty much every time one of the guys says "what's up", the drawing of them will suddenly don a black jacket and sunglasses and suddenly be smoking a cigarette for about one second.
** Gavin stealing all the gold and turning it into a four-block "Tower of Pimps" became the standard symbol for who won their Minecraft competitions.
** Ray is obsessed with roses in Minecraft. His house is covered in them, his chest has many stacks of them, before starting any competition he makes it a point to gather roses either from his chest or the environment; he just can't win without them. Sometimes he uses them as weapons. During the monster-catching challenge he tossed out roses to a zombie he was luring. Apparently, his hero is Tuxedo Mask.
* SelfDeprecation: Whenever Ray does an achievement guide, he will often say he's bad at games, despite having a crazy-high gamerscore of over 300,000 points (with over 350 games at 100% completion) and roflstomping everyone in ''VideoGame/MaxPayne 3'' multiplayer.
** Michael frequently posts comments under his personal Website/YouTube account [=LtMkilla=], saying how much ''Rage Quit'' sucks or what a loser that ''Rage Quit'' guy is. Add in oblivious RT fans trying to defend Michael from [=LtMkilla=] and HilarityEnsues.
** Ray has taken it upon himself to do this with his own YouTube channel [=B1GnBr0wN=] on guides and videos that star him, usually saying "First!" before proceeding to insult himself with horrible grammar.
* SeparatedByACommonLanguage: The others, particularly Michael, often comment on English slang words Gavin uses, asking what they mean and accusing him of making them up.
* SerialEscalation: The Let's Play "''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoIV'' Last Action Hero" goes from Gavin trying to land in a boat from a motorcycle to Ray, Ryan and Michael attempting this with cars, coaches and ''helicopters''.
* ShipTease: Michael and Gavin are notorious for this, both being fully aware of Mavin shipping. It ranges from off-handed comments during Let's Plays to regularly invading one another's personal space. Doubles as {{Fanservice}}.
* ShoutOut: An episode of the Animated Adventures where Burnie speculates if Chris is a ConspiracyTheorist shows Chris looking at [[{{Film/Memento}} a photo of Burnie captioned "don't believe his lies]]."
* {{Squee}}: In Vs. episode 5, the entire crew seems to squee at the various CartoonNetwork characters showing up, with Geoff exclaiming at one point "Is that CaptainPlanet?!" when they see him on the character list.
* StealthPun: The name of the company is one on "Cockbite".
* [[StormingTheCastle Storming The Sky Fortress]]: In Minecraft Episode 17, Gavin, Michael, Jack and Ray attempt to do so to Geoff, who has the Tower of Pimps. [[HilarityEnsues They failed a LOT]].
* SubvertedKidsShow: ''Achievement Hunter [=KiDz=]!'' (NSFW... or kids)
* TheAlcoholic: Gus and Geoff both have well-deserved reputations.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Gus and Geoff for the main Rooster Teeth stuff, Gavin and Michael for Achievement Hunter.
* ThrowingTheFight: Gavin is actually good at Minecraft, but he often intentionally plays badly or causes trouble for the others for entertainment value. A frustrated Geoff once told Gavin that if he played normally, he'd win every time, to which Gavin sarcastically responded, "That'd make an interesting video."
* TournamentArc: Achievement HORSE is hosting one, using HaloReach as the hub. The contestants all do something in a custom Reach map (like using sniper rifles and shooting off places to ricochet towards their target). Those who make it past the most courses moves onto the next round.
** Starting with Part 8 of their Minecraft ''Let's Play'', the guys (now with official skins) are competing for the chance to get the "Tower of Pimps" (i.e. a stack of four golden blocks). Initially, they would just split up and mine until they found gold, which they would then craft into blocks and stack them up. Now, from Part 10 onwards, they've built entire obstacle courses for the guys to compete in, and the winner gets a gold block tower as bragging rights.
* TroubledProduction: Episode 39 of "Let's Play Minecraft" starts off revealing that a very brief power outage killed an hour of gaming and filming. They weren't happy about it.
* VitriolicBestBuds: The ''Achievement Hunter'' team will all take the piss out of one another and even hit one another from time to time, but at the end of the day they're good friends. This is particularly true with Gavin and Michael, who frequently argue (and Michael has actually ''physically tackled Gavin'' to try and stop him getting an achievement) but are still good friends.
** The official employee handbook apparently lampshades this, according to Burnie.
** Jack has had to clarify several times that he's friends with Gavin.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: Michael after his [[spoiler:failed]] attempt at trying to eat a five pound Gummi bear for a bet he had with Gavin. [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3h3z93oAGsk&feature=g-user-u It has to be seen to believe it.]]
* WhatDoesThisButtonDo: The punchline of "Plan G" in their ''Minecraft'' series.
* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: Invoked at one point in their [[SuperMarioBros Mari]][[VideoGame/{{Portal}} 0]] Let's Play. After Gavin has been trolling with portals for a long time and [[LaserGuidedKarma been done in by his own portals a few times]], Michael asks him whether he has been taking anything. [[spoiler:He hasn't.]]
* WhatTheHellHero: An odd one - when Michael and Ray are doing a video showing off ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' mods for ''VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim'', they're utterly shocked when the last clip is of the player, wearing Twilight Sparkle gear, getting beheaded. This leads to Michael flipping out and demanding to know why Ryan put that clip in.
* {{Workaholic}}: Monty Oum, the CGI specialist for Red Vs Blue and other shows, apparently works like a machine and fits this trope to a T when on the job. When off of work, he will fall asleep in his chair due to exhaustion.
