Nitroplus Co., Ltd. (nitro+) is a Japanese game company specializing in Eroge Visual Novels. Its works are almost invariably dark-themed, with an abundance of Eldritch Abominations, horror, rape, Gorn gore and violence.

They first came to general attention with the release of VisualNovel/PhantomOfInferno in 2000, which also was main writer Gen Urobuchi's first released work with the company. Since then it has become well recognized in visual novel circles, such as the releases of VisualNovel/SayaNoUta in 2003 and VisualNovel/ChaosHead in 2008, along with KeyVisualArts, TYPE MOON and 07th Expansion. Another note, is that their music producer, Shingo Minamino, was murdered tragically, and brutally in the middle of a busy street.

GenUrobuchi is one of the most prolific people in the company, as shown in the original light novel for LightNovel/FateZero and their widely famous Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica, Nitroplus' second original anime. They also work with Music/KanakoItou, who has perfomed most of the musical themes for their [=VNs=] or its adaptations. For some bizarre reason, the company responsible for so much dark and disturbing literature has their own cute mascot; Super Sonico, a pink-haired, baby-faced, be-headphoned girl.
