Better known as [[Franchise/StarWars Luke Skywalker]], SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker or [[VideoGame/WingCommander Christopher Blair]], '''Mark Hamill''' (September 25, 1951-) was considered one of the best young talents in the 1970s. Though praised for a strong performance as Luke Skywalker in the ''Star Wars'' trilogy, he could never match the success of his most famous role. Despite being {{typecast|ing}}, he was frequently in demand and performed in several lesser known films before turning more to theater ([[DoingItForTheArt not just to pay the bills, but because he preferred it]]), eventually getting juicy lead roles in big plays on Broadway like ''{{Theatre/Amadeus}}'' and ''Film/TheElephantMan''.

More recently, he's built on some early experience to become one of the most acclaimed voice actors in the industry. He's often found playing dynamic, outright ''evil'' villains (ironic, considering his previous typecasting as a hero), most notably SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker as stated earlier - many consider his performance to be the definitive interpretation of the character. [[MeanCharacterNiceActor He's a nice guy in real life, despite the typecasting]].

He was unfortunately injured in a car accident before the release of ''Star Wars'', requiring reconstructive facial surgery[[note]]Although Hamill himself claims that all he did was break his nose and that people blew the extent of his injuries way out of proportion[[/note]]. Many believe it's [[RealLifeWritesThePlot why]] his character is all banged up early in the sequel.

His career came full circle in 2014, where he lent his villain-voicing expertise in the final episode of ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars'' as Darth Bane, and ''then'' it was announced he'd reprise his role of Luke Skywalker in ''Film/TheForceAwakens''. He then reprised his role as the Trickster in the [[Series/TheFlash2014 2014 Flash]] series. Life is good for everyone's favorite Jedi it seems.

!!Tropes associated with this actor:

* FlipFlopOfGod: Whether he's done voicing the Joker or not. At first, he said that ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamAsylum'' would be his last time. But then came back for ''VideoGame/DCUniverseOnline'' and ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamCity'', and said that the latter would be his last time, with Creator/RichardEpcar from ''VideoGame/MortalKombatVsDCUniverse'' stepping in for ''VideoGame/InjusticeGodsAmongUs'' and ''VideoGame/InfiniteCrisis'', and Creator/TroyBaker in ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamOrigins'' and ''WesternAnimation/BatmanAssaultOnArkham'', despite the presence of Creator/KevinConroy in most of those projects.[[note]]Creator/RogerCraigSmith filled in for him in ''Origins''[[/note]] [[spoiler: Despite ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamKnight'' opening with the Joker's cremation, he reprised the role in flashbacks and hallucinations.]] He has, however, made it clear that he will come back for an AnimatedAdaptation for ''The Killing Joke.''
