Behind Creator/LaurenTom, Janice Kawaye (Born January 29, 1970 in Los Angeles, California, sometimes credited as Janice Roman Roku) is the second most prominent Asian-American voice actress in the business.

Her first major roles came as Gi of ''WesternAnimation/CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteers'' and Keiko of ''WesternAnimation/PotsworthAndCompany''. She dropped off the face of the Earth for the next decade or so before resurfacing as the titular character of ''WesternAnimation/MyLifeAsATeenageRobot'', Ami Onuki on ''WesternAnimation/HiHiPuffyAmiYumi'', and [[ActingForTwo the two Chin twins]] on ''WesternAnimation/ClassOf3000''.

Outside of cartoons, she's dubbed anime as Shizuku in ''Manga/HunterXHunter'' and Yuzu Kurosaki in ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'', which coincidentally features her ''Teenage Robot'' co-star Creator/QuintonFlynn. In video games, she's [[PlayingAgainstType played against type]] as the sadistic villainess Alice in ''VideoGame/TalesOfSymphoniaDawnOfTheNewWorld'', though taking over for Creator/TaraStrong as Presea was a bit closer to her usual roles as [[GenkiGirl sweet Genki Girls]].

Being Japanese-American, she speaks Japanese ''very'' fluently, as she demonstrated on ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice2010'' as a character who spoke ''solely'' Japanese. She and Creator/KeoneYoung have also taught Creator/GreyDeLisle Japanese through their collective experience on ''WesternAnimation/HiHiPuffyAmiYumi''.
