Ian [=McDonald=] (born 1960) is a science fiction and fantasy writer, living in Belfast.

Many of his books are MundaneDogmatic (though he has spoken against the [[http://ianmcdonald.livejournal.com/2378.html Mundane Manifesto]], himself). Some (including ''Desolation Road'' and ''Hearts, Hands, and Voices'') have elements of MagicRealism.

Not to be confused with the author of ''Webcomic/BrunoTheBandit'', nor with [[Music/KingCrimson the]] [[Music/ForeignerBand musician]].
