Frederator Studios is an animation studio founded in 1997 and run by Alan Goodman, Albie Hecht and Fred Seibert, the team that designed the look of Creator/{{MTV}} and Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} in the early eighties and created the [[UsefulNotes/KidsChoiceAward Kids' Choice Awards]] and ''Series/NickelodeonGUTS'' as Chauncey Street Productions in the early 1990s.

Frederator is known for their animated anthology series, or "cartoon incubators", which have served as the launching pad for their best known series: ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'' for Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} and ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'' for Creator/CartoonNetwork.

Their film department was founded in 2007, during development of a movie based on ''WesternAnimation/WowWowWubbzy''. On August 8th, 2015, it was announced at RTX'15 that they would be partnering up with Creator/RoosterTeeth for an as-of-yet-revealed project.

In 2012, Frederator launched [[https://www.youtube.com/user/CartoonHangover Cartoon Hangover]], an outlet for WebAnimation productions. In contrast to the family-oriented shows produced for television, Cartoon Hangover's content exclusively targets teenagers and adults. In addition to premiering new short pilots and mini-series, Cartoon Hangover is better known as the home of ''WebAnimation/BravestWarriors'', from ''Adventure Time'' creator Pendleton Ward, and ''WebAnimation/BeeAndPuppycat'' by Natasha Allegri. Other Cartoon Hangover pilots with their own pages include ''WebAnimation/DoctorLollipop'', created by Kelly Martin, ''WebAnimation/DeadEnd'', created by Hamish Steele, and ''WebAnimation/TheSummoning'', created by Elyse Castro.

It wouldn't be until 2017 when the studio would unleash their first half-hour adult animated series: Creator/{{Netflix}}'s ''WesternAnimation/{{Castlevania|2017}}''. [[AndYouThoughtItWouldFail Against all doubts]], ''Castlevania''[='=]s first season would be a critical success, becoming the first video game adaption to be certified fresh on Website/RottenTomatoes.

On October 26, 2016, parent company [[http://www.awn.com/news/rainmaker-entertainment-acquires-frederator-rebranding-wow Frederator Networks, Inc. was purchased by]] Canadian studio Creator/RainmakerEntertainment. Frederator Networks now serves as a subsidiary as part of the holding company WOW! Unlimited Media, which is run by Michael Hirsh, founder of Creator/{{Nelvana}} and Cookie Jar Entertainment. Fred Seibert would stay on board as chief creative officer until 2020, when he stepped down to return to focusing on independent animation.
