Fantasy Flight Games is one of the biggest tabletop-games producers, that does some book publishing on the side. They also have the RPG, boardgame, and miniature rights to the Franchise/StarWars franchise, making them a pretty strong player in the field. They tend to avert TheProblemWithLicensedGames with consistent high quality, though some games (like ''Blood Bowl: Team Manager'') are a bit of a stretch when it comes to the making a spinoff of a spinoff. FFG's first game was ''Twilight Imperium'' released in 1997.

Their games are known for using lots and lots of cardboard tokens to keep track of things like HitPoints, lots of cards (often of the smaller half-size variety), and using custom dice with symbols instead of numbers.

They merged into the Asmodee Group in 2014.

They had the rights to produce [=RPGs=] and board games for Creator/GamesWorkshop's franchises, but lost them in 2017.

!!Their works provide examples of:

* ColorCodedForYourConvenience:
** ''TabletopGame/TheEndOfTheWorld'' series of SurvivalHorror games each come in specific colors; ''Zombie Apocalypse'' is red, ''Wrath of the Gods'' is yellow, ''Alien Invasion'' is green, and ''Revolt of the Machines'' is blue.
** FFG's card sleeves are color-coded, and the boxes of their games show how many packs of what colors you need to sleeve all of the cards in the game.
** The various custom dice used with their games are color coded so that all dice of the same type are the same color.
* GrimDark: It was inevitable, since they had the rights to two of the most depressing settings ever, ''TabletopGame/{{Warhammer}}'' and ''TabletopGame/{{Warhammer 40000}}''.
* ScrewedByTheLawyers: Their license to produce board games and [=RPGs=] for ''Franchise/StarWars'' did not include allowing them to produce electronic games, so they cannot make their ''Star Wars'' [=RPG=] books available for sale as .pdf files, as many RPG companies do with their books these days.
* WhoNamesTheirKidDude: The randomly generated Archon names for ''Keyforge'' decks inevitably end up this way, ranging from cool names (eg. "Emperor Killium Extremis") to NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast (eg. "Gringolem, Spawn of Horror").
