Crystal Dynamics Inc. is an American video game developer and former publisher that was founded in 1992, by the former Creator/{{Sega}} of America employees Judy Lang, Madeline Canepa and Dave Morris, and was based in the San Francisco Bay Area. They were intended to develop games exclusively for the fledgling Platform/ThreeDOInteractiveMultiplayer, even being the very first publisher to back the console. However, as the 3DO proved to be a commercial failure, they began also producing games for the competing Platform/PlayStation and [[Platform/SegaSaturn Saturn]] before abandoning the platform completely in 1995. They were acquired by Creator/EidosInteractive in 1998, and later became a subsidiary of Creator/SquareEnix in 2009, only to be sold to Embracer Group alongside Eidos-Montreal and Square Enix Montreal in 2022.

They have numerous titles to their name, but they are perhaps best known for the ''Gex'' trilogy, the ''Legacy of Kain'' series, and the ''Tomb Raider'' series, starting with ''Tomb Raider: Legend''.
