It was founded in 1993 to develop games that could showcase the [=RenderWare=] engine, used in titles like the sixth-generation ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoIII'', ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoViceCity'', ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoSanAndreas'', and the ''VideoGame/{{Burnout}}'' series. Their claims to fame are {{Racing Game}}s that are intense and exciting, like, well, ''Burnout''.

They are a subsidiary to Creator/ElectronicArts since August 2004.
