Cristina Valenzuela (born July 11th, 1987), better known as Cristina Vee, is an American voice actress.

She caught the attention of dubbing studio Bang Zoom! Entertainment from a voice acting panel at Anime Expo 2004, an anime convention in Southern California. Since then, [[AscendedFangirl Bang Zoom! has continually invited Valenzuela to do voice work in anime, foreign films, and commercials.]] She has appeared at conventions throughout the United States where she sometimes sings live concerts (this apparently landed her [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRfywEX2LDQ the live action role as ASOS Brigade leader]] in ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya'' season 2). Cristina's also one of the co-hosts of [[http://www.animeolympics.net/ Anime Olympics]] and season 2 of [[http://goanimetv.com/ Anime TV]]. At one point (the video has since been made private), she dubbed a ''VideoGame/BlazBlue'' [[Webcomic/{{Blazen}} webcomic]], voicing... who else? Noel. As you can guess, she's OneOfUs. She has been working as the voice director of ''VideoGame/{{Skullgirls}}''.

Despite her new start, she quickly racked up popularity amongst the new age of voice actors, making her a [[EnsembleDarkhorse fan favorite]] and most of her appearances in many projects will be met with much rejoicing. Yes, that's right, in a quick moment, she is starting to rival the popularities of accomplished ones, the likes of Creator/JohnnyYongBosch, Creator/MichelleRuff, Creator/StephanieSheh, Creator/YuriLowenthal, etc... (although still a long way to go until she reaches the memetic status of Creator/CrispinFreeman or Creator/SteveBlum). Since then she has been constantly improving her image professionally and shows no signs of slowing down her career.

Not to be confused with [[Manga/TheFiveStarStories Christine V]] (though if FSS ever gets another animated production, the casting choice for her in the English version is fairly obvious...).

Also has [[http://www.formspring.me/cristinavee Formspring]], [[http://www.youtube.com/user/ValliereVee YouTube]], and [[http://twitter.com/#!/cristinavee Twitter]] accounts. Mind you that since she's really busy on her voice acting work, she may not have time to reply to any submitted questions at her Formspring account. But she does reply to them, eventually.

Her Houston counterpart is Creator/CaitlynnFrench and her Japanese counterpart in terms of casting is Creator/ChiwaSaito. Her evolution of roles seems to also match with Creator/NanaMizuki, in terms of being voice actors that tend to be cast as [[MagicalGirl Magical Girls]] and going from sweet girls into more BrokenBird roles these days, and she certainly has that feel of 'awesome newcomer' when she got her StarMakingRole (Noel Vermillion), so yes, she's also probably the closest we can get for Creator/NanaMizuki's English counterpart.

Now has her own 'Vocaloid', in [[http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2015-06-11/voice-actress-cristina-vee-makes-game-debut-with-veecaloid-pop/.89138 Veecaloid Pop]]

!!Tropes associated with Cristina Valenzuela:
* BilingualBonus: She sings songs in Japanese. Competently, too! This even includes things like singing "Bad Apple!!" in English. Yes, '''[[{{Memes/Touhou}} THAT]]''' "Bad Apple!!"
* BoyishShortHair: Currently, her hairstyle is a pixie cut.
* ButNotTooForeign: [[WordOfGod She]] says that she has some [[http://www.formspring.me/cristinavee/q/830000518 Mexican/Lebanese ancestry]].
* CosplayOtakuGirl: She's been known to be cosplaying some characters she voiced. Including [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Noel]], [[Manga/KOn Mio]], and [[VideoGame/{{Tekken}} Alisa]].
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Creator/LaurenLanda.
* IdolSinger: She sings some popular J-pop songs and some OP and ending songs in English in some of her free time and posts them on Youtube.
* LoonyFan: [[NoodleIncident Someone sent her something]]. According to herself, it gives her something to talk about at 18+ panels.
* OneOfUs: On many numerous anime, video games, Disney, ''Series/DoctorWho'', and [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7ZXnl45G8o comics too!]] (skip to 32:10) She found this very page, in this very site, and she ''loves'' it! She's a fan of ''WebVideo/MarbleHornets''. [[http://twitter.com/#!/CristinaVee/status/165862985733128192/photo/1/large Here she is with Joseph and Tim!]] She plays ''VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends'', voices one of the characters there, and [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fFflwLYPKQ she even was a host at their IPL4 tournament]]. She knew the existence of the ''WebAnimation/MadokaAbridged'' and even lent some random voices for Homura there, with the effect of advertising "I'm Cristina Vee, and I'm voicing Homura in the actual Madoka dub!" She did a [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epn-fg48i9M dub]] of a ''Webcomic/{{Blazen}}'' fancomic starring Noel from ''VideoGame/BlazBlue''. Later on she was willing to do an introduction for an episode of WebAnimation/HelpMeDoctorHazama.
* PromotedFangirl: She also admits to being a huge ''Manga/SailorMoon'' fan, and fandubbed the opening theme and Moon Revenge. [[PromotedFangirl And now she gets to be Sailor Mars in the new Viz dub of Sailor Moon]]. Nice. She also stated at Katsucon 2015 that she is especially looking forward to dub the ''Sailor Moon R'' movie (which has Moon Revenge).
* PigeonholedVoiceActor:
** Either BadassAdorable characters ([[Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha Nanoha]]), {{Adorkable}} characters ([[Manga/KOn Mio]]) or ''both'' ([[VideoGame/BlazBlue Noel]]).
** [[http://www.formspring.me/cristinavee/q/184769319220053390 According to her]], she feels that she is typecast into the "[[TheCutie sweet girl]]".
*** Her roles as Noel's clone and SuperpoweredEvilSide (Nu/Lambda and Mu, respectively) subvert this, as one is mostly [[CreepyMonotone deadpan]], while the other is a bit more...[[NotSoStoic aggressive]] in her monotony.
*** And of course Homura is also a subversion. She sounds more deadpan and monotone like Nu, until some of her tender side got revealed.
*** [[VideoGame/{{Skullgirls}} Cerebella]] is yet another subversion, but then again she was in charge of voice acting in Skullgirls, so this may have been a conscious choice on her part..
*** And now she's playing [[LightNovel/FateZero Sakura Matou]], perhaps the darkest character within her resume (silent girl who is constantly [[BreakTheCutie broken]] at every turn). In a subversion, throughout her time in ''LightNovel/FateZero'', she didn't show much of the brokenness and presents herself as a 'sweet innocent girl put through shit a lot', still kind of in-line. Her true darkness is only shown during the Heaven's Feel scenario. [[TheMovie A movie]] based on Heaven's Feel is now in the works, but for those hoping to hear Vee voice the "real" dark Sakura, only time will tell if it gets licensed and brought to the U.S, and brought back Vee for her.
*** Croire, should count as Histoire's EvilCounterpart.
** Her recent roles, however, shown she's more typecast into [[BreakTheCutie girls who are emotionally and completely broken one way or another]]. Coincidentally, this sweetie-to-broken girls role kind of mirrors the evolution of Creator/NanaMizuki, although Vee hasn't started a singing career (she does sing in spare time).
* PlayingAgainstType: [[VideoGame/AbsoluteDespairGirls Monaca]] who comes off as the typical NiceGirl until she starts throwing childish and whiny tantrums and eventually reveals [[spoiler: that she's the true BigBad and a Sociopath to boot.]] Christina gets extra kudos for pulling off Monaca's frightening tantrums and personality a little ''too'' well.
** In ''Manga/SevenDeadlySins'', she plays a talking pig named Hawk.
* RelationshipVoiceActor: Cristina has a 'group' of voice actresses, mostly new ones, that usually accompany her and will not be seen without her. These include Creator/JenniferAlyx, Creator/LaurenLanda, Creator/MarianneMiller, Creator/XantheHuynh, Creator/ChristineMarieCabanos, Danielle [=McRae=], Creator/ShelbyLindley and Creator/SarahWilliams, to name a few. They've worked together (the one who's present in these works constantly is just Cristina) in ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'', ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha'', ''VideoGame/BlazBlue'', ''Manga/KOn'', ''Anime/ShinryakuIkaMusume'', ''VideoGame/{{Neptunia}}'', ''LightNovel/TheFamiliarOfZero'' (Season 1 only), ''Anime/KillLaKill'' and ''VideoGame/{{Skullgirls}}''.
** She shared roles with YukiMatsuoka in [[Film/TekkenBloodVengeance Alisa Boskonovitch]] and [[spoiler:[[Manga/IkkiTousen (real) Saji Genpou]]]].
** And with Creator/ChiwaSaito as [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica Akemi Homura]], [[LightNovel/SwordArtOnline Alicia Rue]], and [[Manga/BloodLad Mamejirou]].
** She also worked with Creator/StephanieSheh on several anime titles, such as ''Manga/KOn'', ''Anime/KillLaKill'', and the Creator/VizMedia dub of ''Manga/SailorMoon''.
* ShrinkingViolet: As Mio. She was apparently one herself before she started voice acting.
* SpiritualSuccessor: Considering the similar vocal ranges she can pull off, she's considered the successor to both Creator/KariWahlgren (who is now Union-only) and Creator/MichelleRuff (who still works on both union and non-union projects).
* TheCastShowoff: In the Creator/VizMedia dub of the 54th episode of ''Manga/SailorMoon R'', Cristina actually sung "Eternal Melody" in English.
* {{Tsundere}}: As [[LightNovel/TheFamiliarOfZero Louise]], [[Manga/{{Bleach}} Riruka Dokuragamine]], and [[Manga/SailorMoon Rei Hino (aka Sailor Mars)]].
* WomanOfAThousandVoices: She can go from voicing little girls, to voicing sweet high pitched teens, to voicing lower pitched {{Badass}}es.
