Claire Catherine Danes (born April 12, 1979 in New York City, New York) is an American actress known for her roles as Angela Chase in ''Series/MySoCalledLife'', Beth March in ''[[Film/LittleWomen1994 Little Women]]'', Juliet in ''Film/WilliamShakespearesRomeoAndJuliet'', Cosette in ''[[Film/LesMiserables1998 Les Misérables]]'', Yvaine in ''Film/{{Stardust}}'', the eponymous ''Film/TempleGrandin'', and Carrie Mathison in ''Series/{{Homeland}}''. For her work, she has received three MediaNotes/{{Emmy Award}}s and four MediaNotes/{{Golden Globe Award}}s.

She married Creator/HughDancy in 2009.
