Known for his roles in Creator/ADVFilms, he's the Houston equivalent to Creator/JohnnyYongBosch (since they both always wound up as the main lead). With them, you may recognize him as the voice of Sousuke Sagara in ''Literature/FullMetalPanic'', Hajime from the GagDub of ''Anime/GhostStories'', Sato in ''Literature/WelcomeToTheNHK'', and Fakir in ''Anime/PrincessTutu''. He's also done some work with Creator/{{Funimation}} with roles such as Greed (first one, anyways) in ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'', Turles in ''Anime/DragonBallZ'', Creed Diskenth in ''Manga/BlackCat'' and Graham Spector in ''Literature/{{Baccano}}''.

In 2010, Patton announced his decision to leave anime dubbing to work in other areas of voice performing such as audiobooks, although he stated he was willing to return to any of his past roles if more seasons are created for the series he worked on. However since 2012 he's wound up working relatively frequently with formed Creator/SentaiFilmworks starting with ''Manga/TheWorldGodOnlyKnows'' where he voiced Keima Katsuragi. With Sentai, he has also voiced characters such as Tooru Oikawa in ''Manga/{{Haikyuu}}''

In 2013, he moved to Maryland, but still flew back occasionally to Houston to perform in some roles. But as of 2015, he has moved back to Houston and according to Facebook has also started writing scripts for anime. As of 2017, he is also working on several voice roles in Los Angeles based video games and anime alike and has moved to Los Angeles in 2018 where he voiced characters such as Kliff and Linhardt from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes''. Eventually, he returned to Texas once again as of 2023.
