Caitlin (“cat-leen” in her native Irish, i.e. Cathleen) Blackwood (born 23 June 2000) is a [[UsefulNotes/StrokeCountry Northern Irish]]-born [[UsefulNotes/BonnieScotland Scottish]] actress who played the young Amelia Pond in ''Series/DoctorWho''. Her portrayal of the young girl who waited for the Doctor to take her away was a big hit with audiences, who were very happy when she returned for the 2010 season finale. She is actually a cousin of Creator/KarenGillan, though the two did not meet until ''Doctor Who'', and Caitlin auditioned for young Amelia at Karen's insistence. She returned in flashback, as well as holograms projected by the TARDIS and a prison for a MonsterOfTheWeek in series 6.
