-----
!!Tropes in his work:
* MethodActing: In Film/TheLordOfTheRings, he kept using his character's British accent even when the cameras weren't rolling, to the point where some of the cast thought he was British. When he dropped the British accent after filming his final scene, it was so jarring that castmate Creator/BernardHill thought he was making a joke and mocking American accents.
* ProductionPosse: He's worked very often with Creator/WernerHerzog and has worked ocassionally with Creator/DavidLynch.
* RealLifeRelative: His youngest daughter Creator/FionaDourif stars in Film/CurseOfChucky and Film/CultOfChucky.
* SouthernFriedGenius: Fluent in many languages, and a gifted actor. Hails from West Virginia.
* StarMakingRole: He may have gotten acclaim for his turn as Billy Bibbit, but he was thrust into the public consciousness as Chucky. His later role as Gríma Wormtongue solidified his stardom.
