->"I've served my Clan for a long time, and it's nice to finally have some peace and quiet. I hope I get to stick around and enjoy it for many moons to come."
-->--'''Goldenflower''', ''Secrets of the Clans''

The Clans are made up of much more than warriors. One must always remember the elders that tell tales of the past, the queens that bring new cats into the Clans, and the kits that will one day become the future of the Clans.

''Beware of unmarked {{spoiler}}s!''

!!Elders

[[folder:Mothwhisker]]
!!Mothwhisker
-> "We should strike them by surprise, take the battle right to their camp, and show them that [=ThunderClan=] borders are as strong as they ever were."

An elder of [=ThunderClan=] during Morningstar's leadership.
----
* CoolOldGuy: Advises Morningstar to fight back against [=WindClan=], and claims he should be proud, not ashamed. Also participates in the attack on [=WindClan=].
* TheMedic: A variation. Morningstar tells him to help the medicine cats during the attack on [=WindClan=].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Rabbitfur]]
!!Rabbitfur
->"Watch out! Birchface managed to pounce without flattening any cats."

An elder during Mapleshade's time.
----
* TheStoryteller: Tells Petalkit and Larchkit a brief story about Birchface's skills. Also, offscreen, told Ravenwing about Petalkit and Larchkit being heavy-footed, unlike their presumed father Birchface.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Probably didn't realize that telling Ravenwing would lead to the kits and their mother being banished, their deaths, and their mother taking revenge on the Clans, and eventually going to the Dark Forest to haunt their descendants forever.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mumblefoot]]
!!Mumblefoot
->"The day I stop hunting, Weedwhisker, is the day you can sit vigil for me."

One of the elders when Bluestar was young. Despite his age, he still hunts for himself and the other elders.
----
* CoolOldGuy: He's generally pretty friendly to the kits in the camp and still hunts even though he's an elder.
* KilledOffscreen: Like Weedwhisker, he's stated to have died of old age during a time skip in ''Bluestar's Prophecy''.
* TheMentor: To Rabbitleap and Robinwing.
* NumberTwo: As revealed in ''Pinestar's Choice'', he was Pinestar's first deputy.
* TheRival: He and Goosefeather are rivals. He thinks of Goosefeather as a LazyBum and nothing else, criticizing his every decision.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Weedwhisker]]
!!Weedwhisker
->"Steady young 'un. He's served the Clan well for many moons. Don't turn against him now."

One of the elders when Bluestar was young.
----
* CoolOldGuy: Friendly to the other cats, even Goosefeather.
* KilledOffscreen: Like Mumblefoot, he's stated to have died of old age during a time skip in ''Bluestar's Prophecy''.
* SeriesContinuityError: Like several cats, he's not seen or mentioned in ''Goosefeather's Curse'', though he should be in [=ThunderClan=] by then.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Larksong]]
!!Larksong
->"With this life I give you humor. Use it to lighten the burdens of your Clan and lift the spirits of your Clanmates when despair threatens."

One of the elders when Bluestar was young. Is the mother of Sunstar and Featherwhisker.
----
* CoolOldLady: Gave Bluestar one of her nine lives.
* HappilyMarried: To Flamenose.
* OneSteveLimit: Averted, there's another cat in [=ThunderClan=] in ''A Vision of Shadows'' and ''Squirrelflight's Hope'' who is also named Larksong, though he's a tom, not a she-cat.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Stonepelt]]
!!Stonepelt
->"A good warrior learns from his Clanmates."

A [=ThunderClan=] warrior who was forced to retire to the elder's den after the [=WindClan=] battle. He was Bluestar's first mentor and she named her son, Stonefur, after him.
----
* CareerEndingInjury: He retires early due to a shoulder injury that didn't heal properly.
* CoolTeacher: Bluepaw liked him because he was patient with her and didn't treat her like a mouse-brain.
* TheMentor: He mentored Bluestar before he was forced to retire.
* NiceGuy: A pleasant tom to be around. Bluepaw liked him as her first mentor because he was patient with her and didn't treat her like she was foolish. One some occasions, he would let her sleep in and then grab some fresh-kill to eat before he took her out training. Even after his injury and retirement, he was still friendly and easy to talk to.
* SeriesContinuityError: Like several cats, he's not seen or mentioned in ''Goosefeather's Curse'', though he should be in [=ThunderClan=] by then.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Smallear]]
!!Smallear
->"You see that nick in my ear? I got that when I was an apprentice. An owl swooped out of nowhere. But I bet my claws left a bigger scar than this!"

A [=ThunderClan=] elder in the first arc.
----
* TheApprentice: To Hollypelt.
* CoolOldGuy: Particularly in the first book, when he shares his fresh-kill with Graypaw and Firepaw.
* EarNotch: He has a nick in his ear from fighting with an owl when he was an apprentice.
* GrumpyOldMan: He's an elder and, according to Patchpelt, he'd complain if [=StarClan=] descended from Silverpelt themselves to bring his bedding. Indeed, he constantly complains of stiffness, or foretelling doom for the Clan due to Firestar's late deputy ceremony. He even complains that Firestar nearly drowned him when pulling him across the river to save his life.
* KilledOffScreen: Dies off-screen in the interim between ''The Darkest Hour'' and ''Firestar's Quest''.
* MeaningfulName: He was named after his very small ears.
* TheMentor: To White-eye (One-eye) and Sweetpaw.
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: Outlives his son, Lionheart.
* SelfServingMemory: When Tawnypaw is a little late while bringing bedding for the elders, Smallear tells her that her father Tigerstar had never wanted to look after the elders either, and that she would grow up to become just like him. But in ''Bluestar's Prophecy,'' we see that when Tigerstar was young, he was eager to care for the elders and promised Poppydawn he'd take better care of her than any other apprentice. Maybe Smallear's memory got worse with age.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: In ''The Darkest Hour'', he doesn't get a lot of spotlight, but he then tells Tawnypaw that she'll just grow up to be like her [[BigBad villainous father]] Tigerstar. To Tawnypaw (who spent her life so far being judged for Tigerstar's crimes), this is the straw that breaks the camel's back, and she runs away to join [=ShadowClan=].
* UngratefulBastard: Instead of thanking Firestar for carrying him across the river, he complains that he almost drowned because of crossing the river.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Halftail]]
!!Sparrowpelt[=/=]Halftail
->"Well done for bringing [=WindClan=] home! You must come and share the story with the elders' one night."

One of [=ThunderClan=]'s elders, Halftail is always ready to show kindness to newcomers. When he was younger, he was a warrior named Sparrowpelt, and he mentored Snowfur and Redtail. After losing half of his tail to a badger, he retired because he couldn't balance properly with only half a tail. He dies of smoke inhalation in ''Rising Storm''.
----
* AnArmAndALeg: He lost half his tail in a fight with a badger and hasn't been able to climb a tree ever since for fear of falling and not having his tail to help him land right. His name was changed upon retiring to reflect his missing tail.
* CareerEndingInjury: He retired early because he couldn't keep balance after most of his tail was lost to a badger.
* ADayInTheLimelight: He becomes the P.O.V. character for ''The Elders' Concern''.
* HappilyMarried: With One-eye.
* KilledOffscreen: He's already dead by the time Firestar finds him in ''Rising Storm''.
* MeaningfulRename: Had his name changed from Sparrowpelt to Halftail when he retired.
* TheMentor: To Snowfur and Redtail.
* NamedAfterTheInjury: He is renamed from Sparrowpelt to Halftail as an elder because his tail was bitten in half by a badger.
* OneSteveLimit: He was dead by the time [=SkyClan's=] Sparrowpelt came along, but he goes by Sparrowpelt through most of ''Bluestar's Prophecy''.
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: Outlives his son, Runningwind, but not by that much. Both father and son died in the exact same book.
* SeriesContinuityError: Like several cats, he's not seen or mentioned in ''Goosefeather's Curse'', though he should be in [=ThunderClan=] by then.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:One-eye]]
!!One-eye/White-eye
->"I was already old when they changed my name to One-eye, and to be honest I don't care ''what'' they call me so long as they bring the fresh-kill on time."

[[quoteright:190:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/one_eye_fg_3.png]]
[[caption-width-right:190:[[labelnote:Image source]]One-eye in ''[[Recap/WarriorCatsCodeOfTheClans Code of the Clans]]''[[/labelnote]]]]

The oldest cat in [=ThunderClan=] in the original series. She's nearly blind and deaf, and only has one functional eye.
----
* TheApprentice: To Smallear.
* BusCrash: Dies sometime between ''Firestar's Quest'' and ''Midnight''.
* ChekhovsGunman: In ''The Darkest Hour'', she tells Firestar the specifics of the renaming ceremony that he uses to change Lostface's name to Brightheart.
* ADayInTheLimelight: In ''Code of the Clans'', “Hunting Fish!” is a short story starring her and Dappletail as young warriors, getting into trouble when they decide to hunt in [=RiverClan=] territory.
* HandicappedBadass: As a young warrior in ''Bluestar's Prophecy,'' she compensates for her half-blindness with her incredible hearing. No cat can successfully sneak up on her.
* IWasQuiteTheLooker: She was described as being very pretty despite her missing eye in her younger years.
* HappilyMarried: With Halftail.
* KilledOffscreen: Dies offscreen during a TimeSkip, presumably of old age.
* MeaningfulRename: Bluestar changed her name to One-eye when she became an elder.
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: Outlives her son, Runningwind.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dappletail]]
!!Dappletail
->"If we can't trust [=StarClan=], then we are lost."

A [=ThunderClan=] elder from the first arc.
----
* TheApprentice: To Windflight, her father.
* BuryYourDisabled: She mentioned that she had a deaf kitten in her first litter. He disappeared at three moons old. They NeverFoundTheBody but guessed a fox killed him.
* ADayInTheLimelight: In ''Code of the Clans'', “Hunting Fish!” is a short story starring her and White-eye (One-eye) as young warriors, getting into trouble when they decide to hunt in [=RiverClan=] territory.
* IWasQuiteALooker: She's listed in the character sheets as a "once-pretty tortoiseshell she-cat with a lovely dappled coat".
* TheMentor: To Goldenflower.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: She becomes angry and stand-offish to the point of desperately devouring a poisoned rabbit in ''Moonrise'', thinking that everyone was overreacting about the danger and not ''every'' rabbit in the forest could be poisoned. After she dies from said poisoning, Leafpaw laments that only starvation could've driven such a sweet-natured cat like Dappletail to such drastic measures.
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: She had a deaf son who vanished when he was three moons old. The Clan guessed that a fox must have gotten him.
* ScratchyVoicedSenior: In ''Into the Wild'' she is mentioned to have a voice cracked with age.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: In ''Bluestar's Prophecy'', she and Stormtail appear to have underlying affection for each other despite the latter already being mates with Moonflower and fathering Bluestar and Snowfur. After Moonflower dies, their implied romance seemingly continues behind the scenes, though they never make an official statement that they've become a couple.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Patchpelt]]
!!Patchpelt
->"Patchkit, I already see your father's courage shining in your eyes."

A [=ThunderClan=] elder from the first arc. He's Graystripe's uncle
----
* TheApprentice: To Fuzzypelt.
* CoolOldGuy: Patchpelt is kind to most cats, including Firestar and Cloudtail, despite their being former kittypets. He also does his best to help his Clan, even as an elder, and dies trying to save one of his Clanmates.
* TheMentor: To Whitestorm.
* OutOfCharacterMoment: In the short story ''The Elders' Concern,'' which takes place after Fireheart becomes deputy, Patchpelt says that Bluestar has broken the warrior code by taking Fireheart into the Clan and making him deputy, even though he never shows any prejudices against Fireheart in the main series.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Rosetail]]
!!Rosetail
->"Not many cats get to be deputy, so don't miss out on other things while you're waiting."

A [=ThunderClan=] she-cat first introduced in ''Into the Wild''. She gets a little more screen time in ''Bluestar's Prophecy''. She also happens to be Thistleclaw's sister.
----
* AscendedExtra: She was an elder in the first book, ''Into the Wild'', with such a minor appearance that she didn't even appear in the character list in the book. Fans picked up on that and so in ''Bluestar's Prophecy'' the authors made her one of Bluestar's closest friends growing up.
* TheApprentice: To Tawnyspots.
* CListFodder: She was a very minor character in ''Into the Wild'', only existing to die near the end of the book.
* DeathGlare: Delivers two to Blackfoot, one during her LastStand, one while giving him a life, indicating that she certainly has not forgiven him for murdering her.
* DiesWideOpen: Her eyes are mentioned as glazing over in death in ''Blackfoot's Reckoning''.
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: Almost ''twenty years'' after her off-screen death in the very first book, ''Blackfoot's Reckoning'' reveals that she [[LastStand went down with nobility and fierceness.]]
* FaceDeathWithDignity: It's clear from the onset that Blackfoot has her outmatched in his novella, but all she does is square her shoulders, glare, and vow that she will fight to her last breath to protect the kits.
* GenkiGirl: She's pretty energetic and excitable in ''Bluestar's Prophecy''.
* HeroicSacrifice: She dies protecting the nursery from a [=ShadowClan=] attack.
* LastStand: ''Blackfoot's Reckoning'' shows her death scene, wherein she baricades the nursery with her own body and ''refuses'' to stand down.
-->'''Blackfoot:''' Get out of my way.\\
'''Rosetail:''' Never.\\
'''Blackfoot:''' You've got no chance against me. Run, old cat. I'll take the kits, but I won't hurt them.\\
'''Rosetail:''' They're part of [=ThunderClan=]. As long as I can fight, I won't let you have them.
* MauveShirt: Has a somewhat expanded role in ''Bluestar's Prophecy'', meaning a reader might actually be sad when she dies in ''Into the Wild''.
* MeaningfulName: She's named after her pinkish-orange tail.
* MercyKill: Blackfoot botches his initial SlashedThroat attempt, leaving her alive but doomed to a slow, choking death. He quickly puts her out of her misery.
* RedShirt: At first. Her entire role in ''Into the Wild'' was to be a random elder killed by [[TheDragon Blackfoot]] to show off his evilness. She didn't appear in the allegiances, had no interaction with Firestar, and only had her name revealed after she died. ''Bluestar's Prophecy'' went out of its way to rectify this. So minor was she in ''Into the Wild'' that there was once an entire thread over at the official forum where fans tried to figure out what happened to her after ''Bluestar's Prophecy'' because they had forgotten about her death. Seriously.
* ShipperOnDeck: She ships Bluestar and Thrushpelt.
* SlashedThroat: Twice. The first blow to her throat was rough and would have left her slowly choking to death, so Blackfoot [[MercyKill delivered a cleaner one that ended her suffering]].

[[folder:Brokentail]]
!!Brokentail

->[=ShadowClan=]'s former leader, who became a rogue after he was defeated by Yellowfang and Firestar. In ''Fire and Ice'', [=ThunderClan=] makes him join their Clan as an elder, but he turns on them, as expected. For more information, see [[Characters/WarriorCatsShadowClan here]].

One of Tigerstar's biggest supporters, but only at first. After acting like a {{jerkass}} to Firestar for the first two books, he eventually realizes Tigerstar's true character, leading to him eventually becoming one of Firestar's biggest supporters.
----
* TheApprentice: To Darkstripe.
* BackForTheFinale: In ''The Last Hope'', [[spoiler:he shows up again in [=StarClan=].]]
* BreakTheCutie: He gets his eyes scratched by a rabbit in ''Firestar's Quest'' causing him to go blind. This forces him to retire to the elder's den for the rest of his life, despite being just a little bit older than Firestar. When it finally seems like he might be happy, [[spoiler:he is killed in ''Fading Echoes'' while helping his friend Mousefur.]]
* BrokenPedestal: He supported Tigerstar until he realized how evil he was.
* TheBully: Picked on Firestar in the first half of The Original Series. However, ''Forest of Secrets'' gave him CharacterDevelopment by having him save Firestar and prove that while he may not be Firestar's best friend, he would always fight to defend his Clanmates.
* CareerEndingInjury: Went blind after a rabbit scratched his eyes, forcing him to retire.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: In ''Fading Echoes''. [[spoiler:Well, it was actually a tree, but he still died pretty suddenly.]]
* EarNotch: He obtains one, courtesy of Firestar.
* EveryoneHasStandards: He was a cocky bully who padded around in Tigerclaw's shadow as one of his loyal lackeys, only to be horrified upon hearing about Tigerclaw's crimes. Not only does he viciously refuse to join his former friend in exile despite being promised power and comfort, Longtail carries the guilt of even ''associating'' with Tigerstar for the rest of his life.
** He also felt responsible for causing Poppydawn's death in the short story ''A Dark Path Chosen''. He and Darkstripe were tasked with hunting in rainy weather while the rest of the Clan was sick and hungry, only for Longtail to catch a fat squirrel. While Darkstripe says they should eat it as "warriors deserve to eat first" and eagerly chows down, Longtail is more hesitant to break the code before giving into hunger and eating the squirrel as well. Not only was the further hunting much lousier, but they got back into camp ''just'' as Poppydawn passes away from sickness and starvation. While Darkstripe snarls at Longtail to keep his mouth shut about eating the prey, Longtail silently begs for Poppydawn to forgive him.
* EyeScream: A rabbit scratches out his eyes in ''Firestar's Quest''.
* GreaterNeedThanMine: In ''The Fourth Apprentice'', Jayfeather suspects that he may be giving his water rations to Mousefur because he thinks she needs them more.
* HateAtFirstSight: Longtail hates Firestar the moment he joins the Clan, and the feeling is mutual. Eventually, without the influence of Darkstripe and Tigerstar, he becomes loyal to Firestar (particularly after Firestar begins to treat him with more respect).
* {{Jerkass}}: He was this in the first half of the first arc, especially towards Firestar.
* JerkassHasAPoint: In ''A Dangerous Path'', he's angry because Bluestar is promoting Fireheart's apprentice Cloudpaw to a warrior, but not his own apprentice Swiftpaw, even though both have completed their training. While he's not aware that Bluestar is suffering from SanitySlippage and thinks the whole Clan are traitors, he has a point that Cloudpaw was probably chosen because he is the apprentice of Fireheart, Bluestar's favorite.
-->'''Longtail''': It’s strange that your apprentice is chosen, and mine is ignored. ''Swiftpaw'' never went off to live with Twolegs!
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While he's not the nicest cat and is mean to Rusty at the beginning, he's a kind mentor to his apprentice Swiftpaw, undoubtedly loyal to his Clan, and becomes nicer as he gets older.
* MeaningfulName: He was named after his tail, and knew from the beginning his warrior name would be Longtail.
* TheMentor: To Swiftpaw, Ferncloud and Sootfur.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: In ''Code of the Clans'', he is horrified when his actions lead to Poppydawn's death.
* NiceGuy: He becomes this after he becomes a good guy. He gets even nicer after he becomes an elder earlier than intended.
* PlatonicLifePartners: With Mousefur.
* RivalTurnedEvil: Subverted. Firestar thinks that he's become a full on villain due to his admiration of Tigerstar and Darkstripe, but he's really a good guy and he turns away from them.
* TheRival: To Firestar in the first arc.
* StupidSacrifice: In ''Fading Echoes'', [[spoiler:he heroically dies to save (drumroll) a half-eaten vole!]]
* TerribleTrio: He, Tigerstar and Darkstripe were this in [=ThunderClan=] in the first series. Tigerstar was rarely seen without his loyal followers, at least until Tigerstar is exposed as a traitor. Longtail chooses his Clan over his friend, but Darkstripe later joins Tigerstar in exile.
* TogetherInDeath: As of ''The Last Hope'', [[spoiler:Longtail and Mousefur are finally reunited in death.]]

!!Mousefur

[[caption-width-right:190:[[labelnote:Image source]]Mousefur in ''ComicBook/WindsOfChange''[[/labelnote]]]]

A [=ThunderClan=] she-cat. At the beginning of ''Into the Wild'', she is a young and strong warrior. While most of the [=ThunderClan=] cats from ''Into the Wild'' die by the end of the first arc, she manages to survive and is one of the Clan's oldest warriors. During ''The New Prophecy'', she joins Longtail in the elder's den and becomes a cranky old she-cat.
----
* ActionGirl: Even as an elder. Fighting the badgers in ''Twilight'' comes to mind.
* TheApprentice: To Redtail.
* CelibateHero: By her own volition, she's asexual and never has a mate or kits, though she has a PlatonicLifePartners relationship with Longtail.
* CoolOldLady: Tough and grumpy, but always loyal to her Clan, and still manages to aid her Clan in fights as an elder.
* DeadpanSnarker: Especially as she gets older.
* DespairEventHorizon: [[spoiler:Longtail's death, Briarlight's accident, and her role in both send her into a deep depression that she doesn't recover from until moments before her death.]]
* DyingAsYourself: In ''The Last Hope'', [[spoiler:she reunites with Longtail, finally finding peace and snapping out of her depression...just before a Dark Forest warrior gets her.]]
* ItsAllMyFault: In ''Fading Echoes'', she's wracked with guilt over [[spoiler:Longtail's death and Briarlight's crippling.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She may be grumpy, but she loves kits, is loyal to her Clan, and is pretty helpful to Jayfeather when he needs information (such as in ''Sunrise'').
* TheMentor: To Thornclaw and Spiderleg.
* NeverMessWithGranny: Ready to fight for [=ThunderClan=], even after moving into the elders' den.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: In ''Fading Echoes'', she complains about [[spoiler:leaving behind a half-eaten vole when the Clan has to evacuate the camp, on account of it being disrespectful. This directly leads to Longtail's death and Briarlight's CareerEndingInjury; the former went to fetch the vole to appease her, the latter went to fetch Longtail, and then a tree fell on them both.]] She feels terrible about it.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: In ''Fading Echoes'', [[spoiler:after Longtail's death, she goes into withdrawal and even refuses to eat.]]
* PlatonicLifePartners: With Longtail.
* RacistGrandma: She dislikes outsiders joining [=ThunderClan=] and once even calls a Clan meeting to say that [=ThunderClan=] is becoming too mixed.
* TalkingIsAFreeAction: Subverted in ''The Last Hope''. [[spoiler:She dies because she stops in the middle of a battle to talk with Longtail.]]

An old cat who shows up from time to time in order to help the heroes. A member of [=ThunderClan=] as of ''Sunrise''. He enjoys telling long-winded stories and claiming that he used to have great hunting and fighting skills.
----
* CoolOldGuy: He's generally friendly to the other cats, and even if he is annoying he does manage to get them to Sun Drown Place in ''Midnight''.
* TheCuckoolanderWasRight: In ''Sunrise'', [[spoiler:he tells the Sol Patrol that Sol didn't kill anyone. And he's right for once.]]
* HesBack: After not having appeared since ''Moonrise'', he comes out of absolutely nowhere in ''Outcast'' to hang out with the characters. Then in ''Sunrise'' he shows up again, this time [[spoiler:living with Sol.]]
* HeterosexualLifePartners: In ''Sunrise'', [[spoiler:he lives together with Sol until the Sol Patrol arrives.]]
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Played with. In ''Sunrise'' he claims that [[spoiler:Sol, the BigBad of ''Power of Three'',]] is a good cat. It's obvious to the readers that he's wrong, [[spoiler:but Sol didn't commit the murder he was accused of.]]
* IHaveManyNames: Implied, as he was fed and cared for by numerous Twolegs before joining [=ThunderClan=], but one commented that he was "Purdy", and it was the name that stuck.
* LongLived: He's already an elder at the beginning of the second arc, and is still alive as of the sixth arc.
* OldWindbag: He loves nothing better than to tell stories.
* APetIntoTheWild: He became a loner after his Twoleg died. He didn't entirely lose his fondness for Twolegs, but he didn't live with any after that.
* PluckyComicRelief: He serves as this once he joins [=ThunderClan=].
* RamblingOldManMonologue: He does this frequently. Fans love it, characters get annoyed by it.
-->'''Purdy''': Do you ever miss hunting?
-->'''Mousefur''': As much as you would miss talking if your tongue fell out!
* ShortCutsMakeLongDelays: He claims he knows a shortcut, but it isn't necessarily the quickest route.
* TheSixthRanger: In ''Midnight'', where he randomly shows up to show the group a "shortcut".
* TheStoryteller: He is known for his love of telling stories. Whether cats actually sit and listen to him is up for debate.

!!Patchkit
->"He said I was very brave, and a really good swimmer!"
Mapleshade and Appledusk's son, who ended up drowning in the river.
----
* DeathOfAChild: He and his littermates drowned when their mother tried to take them across the river to [=RiverClan=].
* FamilyEyeResemblance: He is noted to have the same shade of green eyes as his father Appledusk.
* {{Retcon}}: Originally, ''The Ultimate Guide'' stated that after no cat came forward as the father of him and his siblings, the Clan's medicine cat recognized the [=RiverClan=] warrior who fathered them in the shape of their heads and the way they held their tails. In ''Mapleshade's Vengeance'', he sees them swimming and notices their father rescue them and speak to Mapleshade.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: Like his father, he is instantly good at swimming in shallow water.
* ShrinkingViolet: He's a timid kit and was always pretty content to let his littermates try out things first.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: He is noted to look like his mother Mapleshade.

* DeathOfAChild: They, along with Patchkit, drowned when their mother tried to take them across the river to [=RiverClan=].
* OneSteveLimit: Averted. Larchkit shares a name with one of Dustpelt and Ferncloud's daughters from their second litter, who also died as a kit. Petalkit also shares a name with a kit in [=LionClan=] in ''Secrets of the Clans''.
* {{Retcon}}: Originally, ''The Ultimate Guide'' stated that after no cat came forward as the father of them and their brother, the Clan's medicine cat recognized the [=RiverClan=] warrior who fathered them in the shape of their heads and the way they held their tails. In ''Mapleshade's Vengeance'', he sees them swimming and notices their father rescue them and speak to Mapleshade.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: They and their brother are instantly good at swimming in shallow water, as is their real father. Also averted in a sense, as they are not able to stalk or pounce like Birchface, who the Clan ''thinks'' is their father, which hints to Ravenwing that he isn't really the one who sired them.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: They are noted to be the same shade of brown as their father Appledusk.

* MamasBabyPapasMaybe: When she and her littermates were born, the Clan assumed that Thrushpelt was the father. This is despite Bluestar never stating such a thing.

* SatelliteCharacter: She's mostly defined by her roles as Bluestar's sister and [[spoiler:Thistleclaw]]'s mate.

* ActionMom: During the [=ShadowClan=] attack on [=ThunderClan=] in the first book, she fights a [=ShadowClan=] tom.
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Played with; she fell for Tigerstar before she knew of his crimes, and is just as disgusted with him as everyone else in [=ThunderClan=] when she learns of them, but dialogue later hints that she still loves him.
* TheApprentice: To Dappletail.
* BusCrash: Dies in the TimeSkip between ''Sunset'' and ''Power of Three''.
* EarNotch: When they were apprentices, Bluepaw accidentally gives her a nick in her ear while training. Goldenpaw's mother Speckletail is horrified; Goldenpaw herself is thrilled to have her first battle scar.
* GenkiGirl: Her reaction to Bluepaw accidentally ripping part of her ear off during training was an enthusiastic "teach me how to do that!", and she spent most of her apprenticeship running around energetically.
* GoodParents: She's a strong and devoted mother to Brambleclaw and Tawnypelt who always stood by their side and never wavered in her love for them. A cat who lived in a barn by the lake territory, she and her kits join [=ThunderClan=] to avoid being separated by their owners. Although Firestar allows it, many in the Clans aren't happy about this, as Daisy shows no interest in becoming a warrior, to the point of refusing a warrior name when one is offered. She mainly stays in the nursery helping queens raise their kits. Mother of Berrynose, Mousewhisker, Hazeltail, Rosepetal, and Toadstep.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: She received her own novella in 2021 titled ''Daisy's Kin''. She also has a short story in ''Secrets of the Clans''.
* ActionGirl: Unusually for the series, this trope is subverted. Cloudtail teaches her to fight, so it looks like she'll become one, but she decides to become a permanent queen. [[spoiler:Then Lionblaze teaches her some moves in ''The Last Hope'' and she proves to be pretty effective at fighting the Dark Forest.]]
* AmicableExes: [[spoiler:She and Smoky ultimately decide to become this in ''Daisy's Kin''.]]
* ApronMatron: [[spoiler:Takes over this role from Ferncloud when she dies.]]
* CharacterDevelopment: Gets a surprising amount for a background character. She starts out terrified of the forest, clingy to Cloudtail, and spent most of her time doing nothing. By ''Power of Three'' she's adapted relatively well and pulls her weight around camp, and at the end of ''Omen of the Stars'' [[spoiler:she takes enough levels in badass to successfully fight the Dark Forest.]] She's also respected by the Clan, and Bramblestar himself consults her for advice at least once.
* ConfusionFu: In ''The Last Hope'', Lionblaze trains her and Brightheart in it.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: Daisy feels this way at the start of her novella. She finds her purpose by the end of it.
* GoingNative: Not ''completely'', since she's not a warrior, but she's come a long way from being terrified of the forest. She even attends Gatherings on occasion.
* GoodParents:
** A permanent queen who moved to [=ThunderClan=] to protect her kits from getting taken away by the Twolegs.

* GoodScarsEvilScars: Most forest cats have them, but Daisy's scarred muzzle deserves special mention. [[spoiler:It's not everyday a [[NonActionGuy Non-Action Girl]] goes into battle against the forces of evil, after all.]]
* HiddenDepths: Is surprisingly mature about losing Smoky, Cloudtail, and Spiderleg, and is the first one to apologize to Brightheart for her behavior.
* HystericalWoman: When she first arrives, she's completely paranoid about the dangers of the forest, even taking her kits back to the stable at one point. However, later books show that [[CharacterDevelopment she's grown out of it]].
* TheLoad: She wanted to join the Clan so the Twolegs wouldn't take away her kits but had no interest in giving back to the Clan by hunting and fighting. In the end, she ended up contributing by becoming a TeamMom and helping all of the Clan queens raise their kits.
* LookingForLoveInAllTheWrongPlaces: Her short story states that another reason she left the barn was because she was hoping to find someone who could love her. Unfortunately, her tries were with [[HappilyMarried Cloudtail]] and [[{{Jerkass}} Spiderleg]].
* MrExposition: In ''Sunset'', she uses her knowledge of Twolegs to fill the Clan in on their recent actions.
* OneNightStandPregnancy: Ends up pregnant with Spiderleg's kits after a brief, spontaneous fling with him. This results in their daughter Rosepetal and their son Toadstep.
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: [[spoiler:The poor woman outlives four of her five kits.]]
* TheScrappy: To some of [=ThunderClan=] in ''The New Prophecy'', due to being ignorant of Clan traditions and unintentionally messing up Cloudtail and Brightheart's relationship. [[invoked]]
