!Ultraseven
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultraseven_movie_i.png]]
->'''Suit Actor:''' Kohji Uenishi[[note]]Eiichi Kikuchi in Episodes 14 and 15, Tatsumi Nikamoto in ''Series/UltramanLeo''[[/note]], '''Voiced by:''' Kohji Moritsugu
The second hero of the Land of Light (or the first and only in the Heisei continuity), Ultraseven (or Ultra Seven, either is acceptable) was originally sent to map the Milky Way for M78. He found himself attracted to Earth and went there, rescuing a brave man named Jiro Satsuma and taking on the human's form with the alias Dan Moroboshi. He joined Ultra Garrison after assisting them in defeating an invasion force from Alien Cool and would assist them in many adventures. Since his debut, Ultraseven has become an important character in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', possibly even more than the original Series/{{Ultraman}}! He was the first Ultra to appear outside his own series when he assisted Jack against Bemstar in ''Series/ReturnOfUltraman'' and later returned as a major character in ''Series/UltramanLeo''. His biggest contribution to the franchise's history though is probably his son, Franchise/UltramanZero, who would go on to become one of the most powerful heroes in Ultraman history and star in a few movies and several specials.
----
* AbnormalAmmo: Shrank down to about an inch high, ran into Furuhashi's BFG, and let Furuhashi fire the next round, all to destroy Crazygon.
* ActionDad: He's the father to Ultraman Zero, one of the strongest Heisei Ultras.
* AnatomyArsenal
** The Eye Slugger from the top of his head, by itself, with energy, and combined with telekinesis
** The Emerium Beam lamp from his forehead which also acts as his Colour Timer
** His L-shaped Wide Shot from his right forearm.
** His eyes can see invisible aliens.
** Knife and shuriken-shaped energy blasts from his hands.
** A spiral beam from an outstretched arm.
* ArcNumber: Seven (also, the digits in 340, where 3+4+0=7)
* BadassCape: By the time ''Series/UltramanMebius'' came along, the Showa Ultramen back in M-78 began wearing long flowing capes. The change was confirmed in ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends''. Seven even flies off to fight Belial wearing it!
* CerebusRetcon: In Episode 48, [[PowerDegeneration he had nearly run out of energy due to past injuries]]. Nothing in previous episodes mentioned this but it did give new perspectives to the brutality of the many fights he got involved into.
* DentedIron: As noted above all of his previous battles caught up with him and he was in terrible shape by the end of the series, to the point that his superior urges him to abandon Earth and recover out of concern for his life.
* DramaPreservingHandicap: His deteriorating condition in the finale.
* EvilDoppelganger: Robot Ultraseven which was built by the Salomes, Delusion Ultraseven in ''Series/UltramanEighty'' made by the Minus Energy, Dark Seven in ''Series/UltramanGinga''.
* HeroicSafeMode: In ''Series/UltramanLeo'', after losing the ability to transform, he became focused on the mission and on training Gen, not on himself or collateral damage.
* HumanoidAliens: Like all Ultramen, he has a human-shaped body and is a descendant of a human-like alien race.
* IconicSequelCharacter: Ultraseven has come to be one of the most popular characters of the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' thanks to his series' massive ratings and well-received quality, as such Seven has had many reappearances throughout the franchise, such as brief episodic returns in ''Series/ReturnOfUltraman'', ''Series/UltramanAce'', ''Series/UltramanTaro'', a major role in ''Series/UltramanLeo'' as Dan Moroboshi, a sort-of cameo in ''Series/UltramanEighty'' in addition to various sequel series such as ''Series/HeiseiUltraseven'' and ''Series/UltrasevenX''. It all culminated in him getting a major legacy through his son, Franchise/UltramanZero, and still getting the chance to reappear and shine afterwards. Even today, Ultraseven gets as much if not more homages than the original Ultraman, firmly cementing him as one of the most iconic characters of the franchise.
* ImpossiblyCoolWeapon: The Eye Slugger is a weapon located in his head crest, which he can employ as a BattleBoomerang that he can manipulate through telekinesis.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: In addition to his vast arsenal he himself can become a weapon such as when he was shrunk to size and was shot out of Furuhashi's gun to defeat Crazygon as a living bullet.
* KryptoniteFactor: Extreme cold temperatures weaken him to the point of hindering his strength. Also, he can run out of energy if he overexerts himself without recharging or long periods of rest.
* MessianicArchetype: Played out uniquely. He fights to end the flaws and feuds the humans and creatures often that the Garrison has resolved, and protects the people of earth with his own life before others. Fittingly, he's been shown with a CrucifiedHeroShot multiple times in the series, whether transformed or not.
* NiceGuy: He's given hospitable rescues to random civilians out of kindness, is a kind person to his teammates and even shows empathy for some alien invaders or enemies with sympathetic stories.
* OffWithHisHead: Seven's main use for the Eye Slugger was decapitation of his foes, usually after giving them a beating.
* OneHeroHoldTheWeaksauce: He lacked a Color Timer (or a time limit in his true form, for that matter), unlike his predecessor. The fact that the solar panels on his chest and shoulders can collect solar energy as needed made him more powerful in comparison. Somewhat averted because unlike the original Ultraman, he was weakened by extreme cold and could still run out of energy and sustain severe injuries if faced with a powerful enemy. Also unlike the original Ultraman, his injuries stacked up overtime to the point where he was on death's door in the last two episodes, whereas the original was stronger by comparison because he was still fighting fit when he faced his final opponent and only entered death's door due to receiving a fully powered reflected Spacium Beam into his chest.
* PaperThinDisguise: PlayedWith. His human disguise is flawless, allowing him to blend in without issue, but other aliens usually have no trouble recognizing Seven for what he really is when he's disguised as Dan even when he hasn't done anything that proves his identity.
* PrecisionGuidedBoomerang: How The Eye Slugger behaves, Seven can freely manipulate its direction to hit his intended targets with it.
* {{Sizeshifter}}: From micro-sized to human sized and even several hundred feet, Ultraseven can change size at will depending on the situation or his needs at the time.
* SuperStrength: Almost on par with Ultraman's, Seven can lift opponents bigger and heavier than himself with ease, and outmuscle big juggernauts.
* {{Telekinesis}}: He is able to levitate kaiju, as well as control the Eye Slugger this way
* {{Telepathy}}: He talked to other aliens this way as well some humans.
* TeleportationWithDrawbacks: Some unknown drawbacks, used in Episode 18.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting[=/=]{{Humanshifting}}: From human to his M78 form and back
* WorfHadTheFlu: He was severely weakened by the time of Episode 48 against Pandon due to the worsening effects of past injuries acquired throughout the series' many battles.
* YouAreNumberSix: Stationary Post Observer # 340, UG member # 7.

!!Ultraseven's Superior

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sevens_superior.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:"You can't change into Ultraseven. It will bleed all your energy. You will really die this time!"]]

-->'''First Appearance''': The Ultimate Invasion Pt. 1
Nearing the end of the series, after Ultraseven had accumulated injuries upon injuries as a result of his numerous battles, which are carried over to his human form of Dan Moroboshi, the superior commanding officer of Ultraseven personally arrive, appearing to Dan whom is recuperating in a TDF ward. Intending to bring Ultraseven back to the Land of Light to recover his energy, Seven's Superior strictly forbids him to transform, once more, just as Earth is facing it's deadliest threat in the form of the Ghose Aliens.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: Does he really exist? What happened to him after the show? And why didn't Ultraseven bring him up for the five decades or so after the series ended? [[AllJustADream A 2018 theory actually posits that the Superior is the result of a hallucinating Dan Moroboshi thanks to his cumulative injuries]].
* ArtEvolution: The Manga adaptation changed the design of his Eye Slugger to resemble a jagged Mohawk which better differentiated him from Seven, in addition one soft vinyl figurine, based on the same design, gave him blue eyes in place of Seven's yellow ones.
* DubNameChange: For some reason, the CINAR English dub gave him a Norwegian-sounding name, Rutler.
* DynamicAkimbo: How he's depicted appearing to Ultraseven in a TDF ward.
* {{Expy}}: He's supposed to be another Zoffy, appearing to his subordinate much like the finale of the [[Series/{{Ultraman}} previous show]], with the intentions of bringing Ultraseven back to the Land of Light. But Ultraseven had ''other'' ideas.
* HeroAntagonist: He wanted to prevent Seven's death due to his worsening condition by forbidding him from transforming. Dan disregarded his superior, though.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Yes, he's actively preventing Ultraseven from transforming himself one last time to save humanity, potentially dooming earth in the process, because Ultraseven could barely sustain the numerous injuries he had accumulated in past battles, and one more transformation could be fatal. Additionally, humans have proven themselves to be reckless and sometimes [[HumansAreBastards responsible for kickstarting alien invasions]], as seen in the Pegasssa and Nonmalt incident, and whether mankind deserves the protection of the Ultras are now questionable.
* NoNameGiven: The original show calls him Seven's Superior. Averted in the dub.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Much like Zoffy before him, he's determined to get his subordinate back to the Land of Light no matter what.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: This particular Ultra have not made any further appearances ever since the series ended, save for a cameo flashback in ''Film/UltramanMebiusAndTheUltraBrothers''. Even Tsuburaya themselves aren't sure what happened to him after the series ended.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Ultra Garrison]]
The defense team of the series, Ultra Garrison is an elite branch of the Terrestrial Defense Forces (TDF), a worldwide organization established to thwart alien invaders.
!As a whole
* BadassArmy: They saved Seven a few times.
* DubNameChange: They're known as Ultra Squad in the CINAR dub.

!Dan Moroboshi
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dan_97.jpg]]
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Kohji Moritsugu, Rob Roy (CINAR dub)
The protagonist and Ultra Garrison's newest recruit, Dan Moroboshi is Ultraseven in a human disguise and can turn back into Ultraseven using the Ultra Eye. He is a friendly but enigmatic person amongst his teammates. He later reappears in ''Series/UltramanLeo'', where he is the captain of the new defense team MAC.
----
* AlienAmongUs: Disguised as a human, aware of human's potential for good as well as their hubris and occasional cruelty.
* AllLovingHero: Loves the Earth, swore to protect it, and would die fighting for it rather than save his own skin.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: He had vast previous knowledge of some of his enemies
* BroughtDownToBadass: In ''Series/UltramanLeo'', when he lost the ability to transform.
* ChangingOfTheGuard: With Gen Ootori in ''Series/UltramanLeo'' and Masaki Kazamori in ''Ultraseven Evolution''.
* CharacterAgedWithTheActor: Kohji Moritsugu has played Dan for over ''fifty years''.
* {{Doppelganger}}: Jiro Satsuma, whom he identifies as a clone. Dan impersonates Masaki Kazamori in the video specials.
* FriendToAllChildren: In episode 38, he showed up for Osamu's heart surgery as promised, despite being bloodied and in dire need for hospital care himself after battling against Crazygon.
* GoodLookingPrivates: Played by a former male model, no less.
* HenshinHero: The second one from Tsuburaya
* TheHero: Main character
* HeroicRROD: He suffered injury after injury in giant form that eventually affected his human form. His superior warned him not to transform even as Pandon attacked the UG. After he fought Pandon to defeat the first time (and was curb-stomped throughout), he turned back into Dan and collapsed with a head injury, right where the kaijuu had kicked Seven.
* HonorBeforeReason: Will keep a promise to be present during a sick child's surgery ("The brave one") and defend Earth ("The world's greatest invasion"), no matter if he's injured or in mortal danger.
* HumanAliens: He was a shape-shifting alien who adopted a human identity in honor of a brave man he saved.
* HumanOutsideAlienInside: No X-rays please, Anne!
* LoveInterest: To Anne.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Jarringly, his personality seems to have become much more harsh in ''Series/UltramanLeo'', probably due to being unable to transform.
* ManlyTears: After his defeat to the Gillas Brothers and Alien Magma.
* MeaningfulName: Moroboshi = ''many stars''
* MentorOccupationalHazard: A subversion in ''Series/UltramanLeo''. [[spoiler: He just vanishes instead of dying and goes back to the Land of Light, where he finishes healing his injuries, returning in time as Seven to give Leo one final pep talk before he fights Black Directive's last monster.]]
* MortonsFork: From Episode 48: Save yourself and live or save Earth and die. Dan took [[TakeAThirdOption a third option]].
* NiceGuy: In general.
* NonHumanSidekick: His Capsule Monsters, and Sevengar in ''Series/UltramanLeo''.
* OfficialCouple: [[spoiler:With Anne, if ''Super 8 Ultra Brothers'' and the last episode of ''Series/UltrasevenX'' are to be believed.]]
** Using his telekinetic powers in ''Series/UltramanLeo'' left him severely weakened, no doubt due to the same injuries that left him unable to transform.
* RockBeatsLaser: Leg-twisting twin kaijuu beat hero's Eye Slugger in ''Series/UltramanLeo''
* RunningGag: His Ultra Eye gets stolen often.
* ShapeshifterModeLock: The Ultra Eye melted down after the leg injury in his battle vs the Gillas Brothers, so he couldn't transform into giant size again until the trinket was repaired back on M-78.
* ShellShockedVeteran: in ''Series/UltramanLeo'', Dan is defeated by Alien Magma and the Gillas Brothers, which together with his injuries, his inability to transform, and newfound responsibilities (team captain, mentor to Gen), left him with PTSD. In the first episode, as he's talking to Gen about joining MAC, you can see his ThousandYardStare, staring teary eyed into the distance. Later, tensions escalate between Gen and Dan due to Gen's inexperience and Dan's frustration and impatience.
* SayMyName: On the receiving end of this. "DAAAAAAAAN"
* SixthRanger: joined the Ultra Garrison last.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Dan ''Moroboshe''?
* TransformationTrinket: The Ultra Eye, a set of red-rimmed clear goggles.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Being an alien, he transformed whenever the need arised.

!Commander Kaoru Kiriyama
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kiriyama.jpg]]
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Shoji Nakayama, Jean Fontaine (CINAR dub)
A veteran of countless battles against alien invasions, Commander Kiriyama is a no-nonsense fellow, but also a kindhearted one.
----
* TheCaptain: Obviously to Ultra Garrison.
* CoolOldGuy: Thirty-eight-year-old leading twenty-somethings.
* PatrioticFervour: Took the death of foreign UG members in Japan very hard. He felt he was letting Japan down if he let it go unpunished.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Led from the front.

!Soga
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/soga.jpg]]
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Shinsuke Achiha, Marc Denis (CINAR dub)
The best shot on Ultra Garrison and Dan's closest friend on the team. Soga is pretty easygoing most of the time, but not be trifled with on the field.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: "The 0.1 Second Kill"
* FriendlySniper: Never shot in anger or to show off.
* GoodLookingPrivates: Looked like the typical clean-cut cop or soldier
* HotBlooded: His temper could get the best of him sometimes
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Of the shoot-a-rifle-out-of-somebodys-hand type
* TheLancer: To Dan's hero.
* OnlyOneName: Unlike the rest of the crew, Soga's surname is never revealed.

!Shigeru Furuhashi
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/furuhashi.jpg]]
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Sandayu Dokumamushi (credited as "Iyoshi Ishii"), Dean Hagopian (CINAR dub)
The strongest man on Ultra Garrison. Furuhashi is a tough-looking but friendly man whose skills with a firearm are only outclassed by Soga.
----
* ArbitrarySkepticism: In "The Saucers are Coming", complains about Saburo's sighting of flying saucers, dismissing it as a crank call. He, who has seen aliens face-to-face.
* TheBigGuy: His first scene was his exercise routine and TheNarrator's description of his capabilities.
* {{BFG}}: Shoots rounds instead of laser beams. Soga carries a similar weapon.
* ButtMonkey: Anything can happen to him (possession, injuries, humiliations, etc).
* CharacterAgedWithTheActor: Ishii played a much older Furuhashi (first as a team captain, like Kiriyama before him, and then as a TDF commander) in the '90s video specials.
* ADayInTheLimelight: "Return to the North!"
* {{Expy}}: Of [[{{Series/Ultraman}} Arashi]]. Played by the same actor.
* MyBelovedSmother: In "Fly North!", Mrs. Furuhashi pretends to be ill so her son would visit her in Hokkaido and maybe even quit the Ultra Garrison. Upon hearing this, he went back to work. She then drops by for a visit just as he is about to crash his plane with an airliner thanks to the Kanan aliens.
* PluckyComicRelief: His reactions are priceless.

!Amagi
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amagi.jpg]]
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Bin Furuya, Arthur Grosser (CINAR dub)
The strategist of Ultra Garrison. Amagi is extremely intelligent, but also tends to be the most anxious in times of crisis.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: "The 700 Kilometer Dash".
* MissionControl: He prefers not to go out on the battlefield and remain in base to plan out strategies.
* NonActionGuy: Was the resident scientist and MissionControl
** CastingGag: Bin Furuya is perhaps better known to fans for portraying [[SuperHero the decidedly more action-oriented]] title character in Series/{{Ultraman}}.
* OnlyOneName: Like Soga.
* OutOfFocus: Most episodes gave more prominence to Furuhashi or Soga since Amagi was usually stationed at base.
* TheSmartGuy: Had an IQ of 200 and came up with military strategies
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Explosions and heights

!Anne Yuri
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/external_contentduckduckgocom_8.png]]
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Yuriko Hishimi, Jane Woods (CINAR dub)
Dan's love interest, as well as Ultra Garrison's nurse and communications operator. Anne is the youngest and sole female member of Ultra Garrison, but has proven herself to be quite skilled on the field.
----
* ActionGirl: Shot aliens down, flew the Ultra Hawk 3 by herself once, and generally fought aliens alongside her teammates.
* CharacterAgedWithTheActor: She reprised her role on and off until 2017.
* ClassifiedInformation: Her age, which the CINAR dub lampshaded. "Let's not be rude, shall we?" was what TheNarrator originally said.
* DubNameChange: Donna Michibata in the CINAR English dub.
* GoodLookingPrivates: Played by a former beauty queen.
* TheLostLenore: In ''Ultraman Leo'', Dan states that she had disappeared by the time he returned to living on Earth for an extended period and he wasn’t able to find any evidence of where she’d gone.
* LoveInterest: To Dan. [[spoiler: Becomes an OfficialCouple, if ''Film/SuperiorUltraman8Brothers'' and the last episode of ''Series/UltrasevenX'' are to be believed.]]
* TheMedic: Her primary role in the team.
* NiceGirl: Not a pushover though.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: only female in the team.

!Captain Kurata
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Hiroshi Minami
An old friend of Commander Kiriyama from their days as privates in Ultra Garrison, Captain Kurata is stationed on board Ultra Garrison's space station V3, but occasionally joins the Japan-based team on missions.
----
* EleventhHourRanger: Joins the UG at the end to distract Pandon, allowing Seven to defeat it once and for all.
* TheAce: He's a badass fighter pilot.
* CoolPlane: The Station Hawk
* FriendlyRival: To Kiriyama, whom he respects.
* HeroAntagonist: Became one in the finale, as Dan's condition caused him to miss the arrival of the Ghose aliens, got himself shot down, and later missed a warning from Space Station V3 that resulted in Amagi's kidnapping and Pandon's first attack. Kurata blamed Dan for everything.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: He killed one or more Zampa aliens three years before the episode "Terror on the Moon".
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's rude, condescending, impatient, and antagonistic to those he deems incompetent, yet he's the first one to apologize to Dan/Seven (who had clashed with Kurata early in Episode 48) at the end.
* {{Revenge}}: Alien Zampa wants him dead for what happened three years prior to "Terror on the Moon"
* SecretKeeper: Found out Dan was Ultraseven at the same time as the UG, and didn't take it well.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Capsule Monsters]]
!As a Whole:
A trio of kaiju that Dan releases from small capsules to fight in his stead whenever he is incapable of transforming into Ultraseven for some reason. Although only appearing in a handful of episodes, they've become very popular and often reappear in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' alongside their master and other heroes, both human and Ultra.
----
* BreakoutCharacter: Miclas and Windam more than Agira, but all three are among the most well-remembered monsters from ''Series/UltraSeven'', even if they only appeared in a total of 7 episodes.
* ButtMonkey: They never won any battles and largely served as punching bags for the aliens and monsters until Dan could turn into Ultraseven.
* {{Mons}}: Beating ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' by some 20+ years!
* SealedGoodInACan: Lived in small capsules that Dan carried in a case. When Dan needed to slow his enemies down, he threw a capsule into the distance and one of these kaiju would appear.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Dan.

!Windam
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/windom_movie_ii.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Invisible Invader
The first Capsule Monster we're introduced to, Windam is a robotic creature from the planet Metal in M78. Dan used Windam to destroy Alien Cool's spaceship armada and Alien Kanan's lighthouse spaceship, as well as to battle Alien Guts when the bird-like invaders challenged him to battle.

Due to his status as the very first of the Capsule Monsters to appear in the series, Windam has returned many more times in the later entries of the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' as a steadfast ally of the Ultras and humanity, most prominently in ''Series/UltramanMebius'' and ''Series/UltramanZ''.
----
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: By Alien Kanan. Seven just wore him down.
* DumbMuscle: Not very smart as seen by his battle with Seven in Episode 24 where Seven tricks the monster into running around in circles until its dizzy.
* EnergyWeapon: Can fire a laser of medium strength from the orange spot on his forehead.
* HumongousMecha: A gigantic robot.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:In Episode 39 at the hands of Alien Guts. While he makes no further appearances in the series,]] the first ''Ultra Galaxy'' film reveals that Seven fixed him.
* MechanicalLifeforms: He is based around the monster inhabitants of Planet Metal, who apparently look or are mechanical in nature.
* SacrificialLion: [[spoiler:In Episode 39 of Ultraseven and Episode 6 of Heisei Ultraseven.]]
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Also spelled as Wind'''o'''m.
* TookALevelInBadass: In ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends'' Windam takes enough of these to be able to fight and defeat a Salamandora, earning his first real victory.
* UnexplainedRecovery: Despite [[spoiler:his death in episode 39]], Ultraseven is seen using Windam in some later entries like ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends''. Apparently, Seven fixed him up in events after the show.

!Miclas
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miclas_movie.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Secret of the Lake
A horned monster from the planet Buffalo in M78. Miclas was first seen when Dan used him to battle Eleking when his Ultra Eye was stolen by the Pitts. Later on, Miclas was brought back to fight the icy monster Gandar when Dan lost his Ultra Eye in the blizzard created by the latter kaiju.

Arguably the most popular of the Capsule Monsters, Miclas has made many reappearances in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', notably in ''Series/UltramanMebius'' and ''Series/UltraGalaxyMegaMonsterBattle NEO''. In that time, he's been given characterization as [[CowardlyLion timid until riled up by a strong but benevolent master.]]
----
* TheBigGuy: Most likely to use sheer force and often used by Dan against kaiju threats for such.
* BreathWeapon: He showed the ability to fire a red heat ray from his mouth in his battle against Gandar, although this is never seen again in any subsequent appearances.
* BrutishBulls: Meant to be reminiscent of a bipedal bison, though Tohl Narita based his visage on [[CoolMask a horned Incan god mask]].
* DivingKick: With his jumping skills he's able to deliver devasting ones.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Miclas, Mikulas, Miklas, Miculas...
* SpringJump: Can jump very high and very well. His landing is another story. He can also deliver a flying kick with this ability.
* TookALevelInBadass: In ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends'' he is able to earn his first true victory by defeating a resurrected Bemstar.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: He disappeared from the series after Episode 25. Later installments do show him alive and well, however.

!Agira
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agira_lgnds_8.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Wandering Planet
A dinosaur-like beast from the planet Animal in M78. Agira was first used to fight the monster Rigger when Dan discovered that the Ultra Eye couldn't work in its asteroid's magnetic field, and was later pitted against the Salome aliens' Robot Ultraseven while Dan went to retrieve the Ultra Eye that the invaders had separated him from.

Agira is not as popular as Miclas and Windam, and as a result, he is the least frequently reappearing of the Capsule Monsters, having been absent in most series that feature the other two. That said, he hasn't been totally forgotten and still has made a few reappearances to date.
----
* BadassNormal: Despite possessing no powers (beyond the supposed super speed below), Agira is just as capable as Miclas and Windam are in battles with other monsters.
* DubNameChange: In his first appearance in the CINAR dub, they call him Burken, but in his reappearance he's back to being Agira.
* FearlessFool: Agira is noted for his great bravery and will charge right into battle against any monster, no matter how powerful.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Agila has also be used.
* SuperSpeed: According to supplementary sources, Agira possesses this, [[InformedAbility but has yet to actually use it in combat]].
* TookALevelInBadass: In ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends'' he is able to earn his first true victory by defeating a resurrected Dorako.
* {{Tuckerization}}: Named after Eiji Tsuburaya's son Akira.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: The ending of his second and last fight in the series (against Robot Ultraseven) is rather abrupt. He does return to the franchise later on, none the worse for wear.

[[folder:Monsters and Aliens]]
!Alien Cool
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_cool.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Invisible Invader
-->'''Voiced by:''' Koji Yada
An alien invader who kidnapped humans by using his invisible spaceship and demanded that Earth submit to his control in exchange for the hostages. When Earth refused to accept the deal, he sent his invasion fleet to decimate Japan. Fortunately for the world, Ultraseven had arrived on the planet just a while before, now in the form of Dan Moroboshi and having his first encounter with Ultra Garrison.
----
* AlienAbduction: Starts the episode off kidnapping humans by simply making them vanish into thin air.
* DubNameChange: The Emperor of Zundar in English.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: [[spoiler:Ultraseven kills him by slicing his brain off his body, but since his brain is that big, it's effectively being cut in half.]]
* HostageSituation: Uses the humans that it kidnaps to demanded Earth to surrender.
* {{Invisibility}}: His spaceships.
* MyBrainIsBig: Most of his body is just brain.
* PunyEarthlings: He boasts that in his race's eyes, humans are like insects, which becomes HypocriticalHumor when taking into account his [[InsectoidAliens arthropod-like]] body plan.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Cool or Kuuru?
* StarfishAliens: A small crustacean-like creature played by a prop.
* StarterVillain: Ultraseven's first enemy.

!Alien Wyann
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultrsvn_aln_wyn.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Green Terror
-->'''Voiced by:''' Asao Matsumoto (also human form actor)
A vampiric plant-like alien that kidnapped an Ultra Garrison member named Ishiguro and impersonated him by using a mineral called Tilsonite 808. The alien would then transform into his true form every night to feed on blood, turning victims into more of his kind.
----
* AlienAbduction: Ishiguro, and all the on-screen victims, are encased in a rock, while a smaller rock controlled each alien impostor.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Acts nice to everyone but is really an evil invader.
* DubNameChange: Vylom Shrubs in English.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: [[spoiler:His fate.]]
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: What ultimately ruins his plans is one of the people who he turned into a Wyann shows up at his house and freaked out the maid. She calls the Ultra Garrison and they find his device, destroying it.
* ImportedAlienPhlebotinum: Tilsonite 808, which he uses to kidnap Ishiguro and impersonate him. Destroying the Tilsonite causes the alien to lose control over the disguise.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: Blood-drinking plant-like aliens that spread TheVirus.
* PlantAliens: A walking mass of thorny shrubbery.
* ShockAndAwe: Can create powerful shock from its body.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Also called Alien Wyell.
* TheVirus: Their blood-draining creates Wyanns in human form, storing the human victims they copied in a big Tilsonite rock. Stops once the original Wyann is killed.

!Alien Pitt
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alienpitt.jpg]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Secret of the Lake
-->'''Voiced by:''' Reiko Takahashi (also human form actor of both)
A pair of aliens who disguised themselves as playful twin girls, bring the monster Eleking with them. They placed its tadpole form in a lake for safekeeping and then stole Dan's Ultra Eye to ensure Ultraseven could not stand in the way of Eleking. Since then, the Pitts have made a few more appearances in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', and almost always in association with Eleking.
----
* CreepyTwins: Almost always seen in pairs.
* InsectoidAliens: Their true forms resemble some kind of bug-headed woman.
* OneGenderRace: Their species is entirely female.
* TricksterTwins: They almost always work together to mess around with Ultra heroes, usually in order to steal their TransformationTrinket.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: One of the twins does this to infiltrate UG headquarters.

!Eleking
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eleking.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Secret of the Lake
An electric eel-based monster used by the Pitts as their weapon to conquer Earth. The alien girls hid the monster's tadpole form in a lake near their ship until the creature was ready to come out in its towering adult form and rampage across the countryside.

Eleking is one of Ultraseven's most recognizable foes, thus among the most popular monsters in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries''. Thus, he makes numerous appearances in the later entries of the franchise, including a heroic one in ''Series/UltraGalaxyMegaMonsterBattle''.
----
* AimForTheHorn: Has both horns blated off by Ultraseven's Emerium Ray.
* AttackTheTail: Miclas attempts this when fighting Eleking, only to fall victim to Eleking's electrified tail. And in the penultimate battle, [[spoiler: Ultraseven severs Eleking's tail besides decapitating it]].
* BreakoutCharacter: Has appeared in nearly every entry of the Ultra Series in some form since returning in ''Series/UltramanMax''. He's also been on the side of the Ultramen and Rei's Gomora in several incarnations too!
* BreathWeapon: Generally spits out a series of electrical disks, but later series have given him some additional ones.
* EyelessFace: Has two rotating antenna where most monsters usually have eyes.
* GiganticAdultsTinyBabies: Eleking's juvenile tadpole form is small enough to be carried ''by hand'' from it's owners, the human-sized Pitt Aliens, before it gets enlarged into a massive monster. This ability is carried over when it gets reintroduced years later in ''Series/UltramanMax''.
* MeaningfulName: It's a combination of "electric" and "king".
* MetamorphosisMonster: Begins as a tadpole-like creature small enough to fit in a human hand before eventually growing into a bipedal salamander/electric eel monster standing 55 meters tall.
* OffWithHisHead: [[spoiler:Ultraseven kills him this way.]]
* PetMonstrosity: Of the Pitts.
* PrehensileTail: A very long one for wrapping around enemies and shocking them to death.
* PsychoElectricEel: Is meant to resemble a mix of an electric eel and a typical kaiju.
* ShockAndAwe: His element, which allows him to spit various electrical attacks from his mouth, as well as shock opponents by touching them.

!Alien Godola
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/godola_new.jpg]]
-->'''First Appearance''': Respond, Max!
-->'''Voiced by:''' Kyoji Kobayashi
Dastardly aliens who used an anti-gravity field to abduct ships at sea, capturing an Ultra Garrison investigation crew. They also attempted to destroy Ultra Garrison headquarters with a bomb and stole Dan's Ultra Eye in order to do it without opposition. The Alien Godola have since made a few reappearances in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', notably in the Heisei ''Ultraseven'',''Series/UltramanGeed'', and ''Series/UltramanTaiga''.
----
* BreakoutVillain: While not to the extent of Alien Metron or Alien Guts, the Alien Godola have proven to be a fairly popular foe, making multiple appearances in other entries of the Ultra Series.
* DirtyCoward: One of them runs off in the middle of the fight with Ultraseven!
** [[AvertedTrope Averted]] with the female Alien Godola, who states that she's willing to die in the explosion as long as it takes the Ultra Garrison with her and ensures her people's plan works.
* DubNameChange: Correlans in the English dub.
* GravityMaster: Uses anti-gravity to abduct ships.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: The one who stole the Ultra Eye shot Dan's gun out of his hand.
* InsectoidAliens: Sorta reminiscent of [[Series/{{Ultraman}} Alien Baltan]] or [[Series/UltramanTaro Alien Temperor]], but according to supplementary sources, they're plants.
* MadBomber: The agent was willing to be killed when her explosive went off!
* PlantAliens: According to supplementary sources.
* PowerPincers: Able to shoot various types of laser bolts from their pincers, including one able to form prison capsules around enemies.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Godola and Godora have been used.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: Uses this to steal Dan's Ultra Eye in disguise.

!Alien Bira
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bira_i.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Erased Time
-->'''Voiced by:''' Mahito Tsujimura
Alien invaders who froze time to mind control Ultra Garrison scientist Dr. Yushima, making him their minion and sending him to sabotage Ultra Garrison headquarters, for which they pinned the blame on Dan being a double agent in order to launch their attack without any opposition from Ultraseven.
----
* BadassInANiceSuit: Dr. Yushima, the unwitting pawn of this alien.
* BreathWeapon: A blast of toxic gas as well as an electric beam.
* GiantEnemyCrab / SnakesAreSinister: Resembles a shrimp mixed with a cobra.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: [[spoiler:The lead Bira gets his upper body sliced off.]]
* MindControl: Uses this on Dr. Yushima.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Bira or Villa?
* StarfishAliens: Resemble snakes mixed with shrimps.
* OhCrap: At the end of the fight with Ultraseven, it slowly starts to back away indicating that [[ThisIsGonnaSuck it knows it's screwed.]]
* TimeMaster: Freezes time to mind control Dr. Yushima.

!Alien Pegassa
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pegassa_5_5.jpg]]
-->'''First Appearance''': Dark Zone
-->'''Voiced by:''' Junichi Higasa
Aliens who built a utopian space city that ended up on a collision course with Earth when its power supply malfunctioned. One came to Ultra Garrison headquarters to request that humanity adjust Earth's orbit, or his people would be forced to blow up the planet. Meanwhile, Ultra Garrison was planning to destroy the Pegassa's space city too, hoping that the aliens would receive their warnings to evacuate.

Alien Pegassa was brought back in the Heisei ''Ultraseven'' series, but more notably, an individual named [[ALizardNamedLiz Pega]] appears as one of the main characters of ''Series/UltramanGeed'' and the best friend of the eponymous hero's human identity.
----
* AntiVillain: Although very condescending to more primitive species, they were just wanting to protect their doomed city.
* CastingAShadow: Showed the ability to cloak himself in shadows.
* LastVillainStand: A tragic example. The Pegassa on Earth sets up a bomb to destroy the planet to save his people. When Dan arrives he informs him he's too late, his people and city are gone. Enraged by this he decides to set off the bomb anyway to avenge them. Interestingly unlike most examples of this trope the Pegassa lives in the end, [[VillainExitStageLeft getting out of there after Dan becomes Ultraseven.]]
* NukeEm: Pegassa City was destroyed with a nuclear missile before it could collide with Earth. Unfortunately it killed most of the Pegassans, as they underestimated the damage it could do. A few were able to escape and settled on the planet.
* TheRightOfASuperiorSpecies: They believed humans were best destroyed when learning that they were incapable of changing their planet's orbit. The Pegassan on Earth tried to detonate the planet so that Pegassa City would survive.
* TooCleverByHalf: Clever enough to save themselves after their planet was destroyed, clever enough to build a floating space city and manufacture everything they needed (even ''air''), but naive or arrogant in their belief the people of Earth are willing or able to shift the planet's orbit.
* VillainExitStageLeft: The Pegassa that fought Seven ran into the night after failing to blow up the Earth.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: They simply wanted to save their skins from total destruction even if it meant blowing up Earth!
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: The original one ran off, never to be seen again. More memebers of species did return in an episode in the Heisei series, which revealed other Pegassans survived and now live on Earth. They have split into two groups, debating whether to live amongst the humans or avenge Pegassa City's destruction.
* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: A major element of them was the moral dilemma between blowing up Pegassa City or risking the destruction of both the planet and the city.

!Alien Quraso
[[quoteright:175:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/quraso.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': Alien Prisoner 303
A homicidal maniac from a distant world who came to Earth to escape his planet's lawmen. There, he made a life out of murdering humans and guzzling down any available gasoline he could find, which ended up attracting the attention of Ultra Garrison.
----
* AliensAreBastards: A rare aversion here. The Quraso race themselves are not bad or even the problem of the episode, it’s one dangerous criminal from their planet. The Quraso race themselves even sent a warning to the Ultra Garrison about the criminal. It’s one of the rare times an episode ends with Ultra Garrison on good terms with an alien race.
* AxCrazy: A serial killer from an alien planet.
* BreathWeapon: A stream of fire.
* BizarreAlienBiology: Can drink gasoline with no ill effects!
* DirtyCoward: He loves murdering but at the same time often attempts to run away the second anyone could fight back comes along. It’s also implied in his final moments, he’s crying for mercy before he explodes.
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler: Attempted to escape using the Ultra Hawk 1, but crashed the plane and burned to death, crying and begging for mercy.]] Dan even {{Lampshades}} it with a short speech.
* KillItWithFire: [[spoiler:Yes, the fire-breathing, gas-guzzling alien is burned to death from crashing a plane in an escape attempt.]]
* LogicalWeakness: An alien who drinks a lot of gasoline is naturally explosive.
* MindControl: Able to release a flash from his forehead that puts people who see it under his control, which he uses to hold a family hostage and later get Anne to drive him to Ultra Garrison base.
* NothingIsScarier: For most of the episode, it plays out like murder mystery with the alien only being shown in parts and his exact identity left ambiguous until later.
* SerialKiller: Stated to have been a serial killer on his home planet before coming to earth where he continues his murder spree.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Kyuraso or Quraso?

!Alien Metron
[[quoteright:275:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metron_classic_8.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Targeted Town
-->'''Voiced by:''' Shinji Nakae
An alien invader who disguised himself as a cigarette deliveryman in order to place tiny red crystals inside cigarettes from vending machines all around the town of Kitagawa, causing anyone who smoked those cigarettes to go temporarily insane and attack others in brief but violent rampages.

Alien Metron is one of the most iconic aliens in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', with his strange appearance, sunset battle with Ultraseven, and friendly coffee table chat with Dan making him incredibly recognizable in Japan. Thus, Metron has made him numerous reappearances in the franchise against many new generations of Ultra heroes.
----
* AffablyEvil: Very friendly and polite to the point of having a cup of tea with the characters.
* TheAnticipator: His jovial welcome to Dan: "Welcome, [=UltraSeven=]. I've been expecting you."
* BreakoutVillain: Quickly became one of the most popular aliens in the show. The famous coffee table discussion scene in his debut borders on MemeticMutation in Japan.
* DubNameChange: The Kiirlons in the CINAR English dub.
* FriendlyEnemy: He happily reveals his plans to spread his hate plague while treating Dan to tea and playing rock paper scissors with him.
* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: Most certainly of the evil variety as he uses cigarettes to turn humans to violence.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: [[spoiler:In ''Seven'', as well as ''Ace''.]]
* HatePlague: He plants little crystals inside cigarettes that makes people go crazy.
* MeaningfulName: "Metron" comes from "metro", referring to his ''underground'' scheme to conquer Earth.
* NoMouth: Has a series of yellow patches that flashes when he talks!
* PaperTiger: Warns Seven to stay out of their business claiming they don’t want to kill another alien. In truth, they stood no chance against Ultraseven and immediately attempt to retreat the second Dan transforms.
* StarfishAliens: Meant to resemble an upright shellfish of some sort.

!Alien Chibu
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_chibu_ginga_s_5.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': Android Zero Directive
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Kenjiro Uemura (human form actor)
An alien who disguised himself as an elderly toymaker to make disturbingly realistic toy weapons and little badges for children while sending his Android Zero-One to assassinate Dan. He intended to use the badges to receive radio waves of his that would mind control children into soldiers that would kill all the adults on Earth.

Although Alien Chibu is not considered one of Ultraseven's most iconic foes, an individual of the species named Exceller surprisingly appeared as the BigBad of ''Series/UltramanGinga S''.
----
* BitchInSheepsClothing: When the Ultra Garrison first meets him he seems like a kindly old man handing out toys to children, but in truth, he’s an evil alien invader who isn’t above using ChildSoldiers.
* BrainMonster: His true form is one with tentacles.
* ChildSoldiers: Plans to brainwash a large portion of the children in the city to use them as soldiers to conquer the earth.
* MeaningfulName: "Chibu" comes from the Okinawan dialect for "head", referencing how his true form's a giant brain with a face and tentacles.
* MindControl: Essentially how he'll take over the world -- by turning kids into child soldiers with it.
* MyBrainIsBig: It's more than half of his body!
* MyLittlePanzer: Dangerously realistic toy weapons are his choice of weapon, complete with tiny tanks and planes to shoot people.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Chibull, Chibu, Chiburu?
* StarfishAliens: His normal form, a brain with a face and tentacles.

!Android Zero-One
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zero_one.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': Android Zero Directive
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Yukiko Kobayashi
Alien Chibu's robotic female servant, which he sent out to locate and assassinate Dan Moroboshi using a deadly electric joy buzzer. During an early attempt, she mistook Furuhashi for Dan, almost killing him and leading Ultra Garrison to investigate for her motives and eventually uncover Alien Chibu's plan.
----
* TheDragon: To Alien Chibu.
* ElectricJoyBuzzer: Her weapon of choice, which she used to try assassinate Dan.
* MurderousMannequin: Her usual form when not needed is a mannequin.
* RobotGirl: Duh.

!Alien Icarus
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/icary.JPG]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Suspicious Neighbour
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Ren Yamamoto (human form actor)
An alien who disguised himself as a human and moved into a house to work on a piece of technology that would allow his homeworld's troops to get to Earth through another dimension, only to be spotted by a boy next door whose suspicions of his neighbour led to Ultra Garrison discovering his invasion plot. Alien Icarus has reappeared a few times since then, notably as an antagonist in ''Series/UltramanGinga''.
----
* BadassInANiceSuit: Its human form rocks a two-piece suit with a turtleneck.
* BatOutOfHell: An evil alien invader who resembles a bat.
* BizarreAlienBiology: Hairless body of an elephant, ears of a bat, head of a bat/rat, hair on top, a low-pitched growl...
* DubNameChange: To a Kyalian in English.
* PhantomZone: The Fourth Dimension, which his species planned to use as a shortcut to invading Earth.
* PointyEars: Like those of a bat. They're also capable of firing hailstorms of energy needles.
* SpannerInTheWorks: His plan probably would have gone off without a hitch it wasn’t for a little kid noticing his strange activities.
* TeleportSpam: Uses a short-distance of this briefly during the battle with Ultraseven.

!Alien Wild
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wild_new.jpg]]
-->'''First Appearance''': Fly to the Mountain of Evil
-->'''Voiced by:''' Eiji Maruyama
A yeti-like extraterrestrial who came to Earth in order to help his species gain eternal youth. To this end, he used a camera that trapped the souls of humans in its film whenever it took a picture of the victims, managing to "kill" Dan Moroboshi with it.
----
* AffablyEvil: Very friendly and polite to Ultra Garrison despite being a soul-stealing yeti alien.
* BigfootSasquatchAndYeti: Meant to resemble a yeti. His subtitle is even "Space Yeti".
* MagicalCamera: His weapon of choice is a life-stealing camera.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Ultraman aliens are usually HumanAliens or people in full costumes. Alien Wild's design is a costume but showing the suit actor's human face.

-->'''First Appearance''': Fly to the Mountain of Evil
A robotic dragon able to transform into a flying saucer, and used by Alien Wild as his ride to Earth. He stored Narse within his mountain lair until his plans were foiled by Ultra Garrison, forcing him to call out the robot to destroy Ultra Garrison and flee Earth.

Narse would later reappear in ''Film/MegaMonsterBattleUltraGalaxyLegends'' under control of [[Series/{{Ultraman}} Alien Zetton]], attempting to crush [[Series/UltraGalaxyMegaMonsterBattle the Pendragon]] with his coils and battling Series/UltramanDyna.
----
* AnimalMecha: A mechanical dragon
* DragonTheirFeet: Its master is killed by the Ultra Garrison so it attempts to get revenge for him.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Film/{{Atragon}} Manda]]. Both are serpentine dragon kaiju portrayed with puppets and have a penchant for coiling themselves around their enemies.
* LiterallyShatteredLives: [[spoiler:Twice. Was shattered by Ultraseven and later chopped into pieces by Ultraman Dyna.]]
* NinjaZombiePirateRobot: A robot dragon that can turn into a flying saucer!
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: '''Robot''' dragons.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: N'''u'''rse is also used.
* TransformingMecha: Can shift between flying saucer form and dragon form.

!Alien Spell
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alienspell.jpg]]
-->'''First Appearance''': From Another Planet with Love
Aliens who came to Earth in search of the blood of young women to cure their radiation sickness after having devastated their homeworld through nuclear war. One was sent to sell watches that drained victims of their blood, while he dated a friend of Anne named Sanae. But when Sanae's little brother tried a watch, the aliens discovered that children's blood was even better!

However, this alien is better known for being in "The BannedEpisode", as an atomic bomb survivor pointed out the terrible discrimination faced by bomb survivors in Japanese society. DVD releases won't include the episode either (it was featured on the CINAR dub though), so we likely won't being seeing this alien in a very long time.
----
* BadassInANiceSuit: Saburo and the other Spells in human form
* BodyHorror: Covered in all sorts of radioactive sores and welts. Flat, featureless faces. Got cat-like eyelids, though [[note]]Cats have normal eyelids and a skin fold underneath. Spehlians' don't have the outer ones.[[/note]]
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Beyond the unintentional atomic bomb thing, there's also strong paedophilic vibes.
* EvilSoundsDeep: The one who attacks the crowd of children has a deep baritone voice and an unsettling EvilLaugh.
* EurekaMoment: Turns out kids' blood is much more delicious!
* EyeBeams: Can fire lasers from their eyes, after blinking briefly.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: [[spoiler:The fate of the one who battles Ultraseven. Lengthwise.]]
* InterspeciesRomance: One of them dates a friend of Anne named Sanae in order to help with selling watches
* MonsterMisogyny: Initially, they targeted women for their blood, that is, until Sanae's little brother tried on a watch...
* NuclearMutant: [[HoistByTheirOwnPetard They obliterated their planet through nuclear war, turning themselves into the blood-drinking monsters they are]].
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: Being nuclear vampire aliens and all.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Spell or Spehl?
* VillainousBreakdown: Once our heroes were on to them, one of the aliens takes his true form and terrorizes the children who they had lured to the building with the promise of a watch.
* WouldHurtAChild: Once they figured children's blood was better for their purposes, they lured lots of children into a trap.

!Alien Iyros
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/iyros2.jpg]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Man from V3
-->'''Voiced by:''' Koji Yada
An alien who made an unprovoked attack Ultra Garrison's space station V3 and hid on Earth when pursued by the space station's Captain Kurata. He kidnapped Furuhashi and Amagi, creating clones of them as spies, and made incessant demands to Ultra Garrison for fuel to be able to leave in peace.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: Is the "Iyros" Seven fights the ''actual'' Alien Iyros, the unnamed monster minion to InvisibleAliens, or the result of unseen aliens taking on a OneWingedAngel form? Preliminary scripts have Iyros as a monster, whilst Narita designed Iyros to be a monster that blurs the line between alien and kaiju, further complicating things.
* BreathWeapon: A series of small energy bolts.
* CaptureAndReplicate: Captured Amagi and Furuhashi, sending duplicates to the UG base to steal fuel, possibly blow the base up.
* ILied: [[spoiler:Oh, he never planned on leaving Earth in peace once given the spaceship supplies.]]
* MeaningfulName: Named after Aeschylus, a Greek tragedian.
* SpinAttack: Can spin his body very quickly to deflect attacks.
* StarfishAliens: Played with a rubber suit, but nowhere near humanoid.

!King Joe
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/king_j0e.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Ultra Garrison Goes West Pt. 1
The Pedans' ultimate war machine, sent to Earth in the form of four spaceships to attack an important international meeting in Japan. King Joe's strength was so great that it easily defeated Ultraseven, leaving Ultra Garrison to figure out how to bypass the robot's nigh-invincible Pedanium plating.

King Joe is one of the most iconic and popular robots in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'', and has made numerous reappearances in other entries of the franchise, often as a servant to the Pedan, but sometimes under other aliens' control. He has also received an incredibly powerful arm cannon in several incarnations, beginning with ''Series/UltraGalaxyMegaMonsterBattle''.
----
* AchillesHeel: Being made of Pedanium, he's vulnerable to a certain type of chemical.
* AIIsACrapshoot: In the Heisei series, Ultra Garrison rebuilds him as an Earth defender. It still remembers its original purpose.
* BarrierWarrior: Displayed the ability to coat itself in an electrical force field that serves not only to block energy rays, but zap enemies.
* BreakoutVillain: Has appeared in nearly every entry of the Ultra Series since returning in ''Series/UltramanMax''.
* CombiningMecha: Made from four spaceships that are capable of separating and combining at will, even in the middle of a fight to dodge attacks.
* CyberCyclops: The single glowing visor which serve as King Joe's optic sensor is its sole "eye", though the two circles and T-shape below the sensor could also be construed as a face that averts this.
* DragonInChief: To the Pedans -- a trait that has been carried in most of his later appearances. While the Pedans themselves are hardly a threat to an Ultra, King Joe is their trump card.
* DragonTheirFeet: In the Heisei continuity. After being rebuilt, it remembers its original purpose and continues its late creators' mission.
* EyeBeams: Has this ability (called the Dest Ray), though he usually prefers to just use his own two fists. Given how tough he is, it's excusable.
* HumongousMecha: A gigantic robot, and the most famous one in the ''Ultra Series''.
* ImplacableMan: His armour makes him nearly unkillable except when hit by the most powerful attacks.
* TheJuggernaut: Huge, slow, but nearly unstoppable. Exaggerated when equipped with the arm cannon, which actually killed other monsters in a single shot.
* {{Tuckerization}}: Named after Tetsuo Kinjo, a friend of Creator/EijiTsuburaya and head writer for ''Ultraseven'' and ''Series/{{Ultraman}}'' (with some work on ''Series/UltraQ'').
* TheWorfEffect: Absolutely pummels Ultraseven in the first fight. It tends to be a recurring trait for him in many other appearances, notably ''Ultra Galaxy''.

!Alien Pedan
[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultr_glxy_aln_pndn.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Ultra Garrison Goes West Pt. 1
-->'''Portrayed by:''' Shun Yashiro, Hiroshi Tanabe (voices), Linda Hardisty (Dorothy Anderson impersonator)
A race of aliens who declared war on Earth when a Terrestrial Defense Forces satellite visiting their planet was mistaken for a weapon. They launched their assault by sending an assassin disguised an American TDF agent - Dorothy Anderson - to kill all foreigners on Japanese soil, as well as calling in their robot King Joe to battle Ultraseven.

The Pedans have only appeared a few times in the ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' since their debut, but one of their more notable ones would have to be in ''Series/UltraGalaxyMegaMonsterBattle NEO'', where a group of them were one of the main antagonistic factions, albeit well-intentioned.
----
* DubNameChange: They become the Rodanians in the CINAR dub.
* HumanAliens: Though not seen beyond the Anderson double, they are revealed to be such in ''Ultra Galaxy''.
* HumansAreTheRealMonsters: If humans hadn't visited the Pedan planet without warning, the whole crisis would have never happened... [[spoiler:But since the Pedan leader revealed they always had plans to invade Earth anyway it renders their moral high ground null and void.]]
* ILied: [[spoiler:Seriously, Fake Anderson? You flat-out promised alien-on-alien with Dan not to invade Earth, and now you call for the invasion fleet!]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: This is what the Alien Pedan truly are. They are first introduced attacking the Earth and sending King Joe to attack Ultraseven. When Dan confronts [[spoiler: Fake Dorothy]], they claim that they wouldn’t have invaded if it weren’t for the satellite. Dan shows sympathy and makes an alien-to-alien peace deal with the Pedans, which they appear to accept. [[spoiler: The Pedans reveal they never had any intentions for peace by not only flat-out lying to Dan, but reveal they were always interested in conquering Earth anyway.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: Even if Earth unintentionally started the war in the first place, the Pedans aren't exactly a friendly people as seen in the later series; they're basically warmongering imperialists and they were already planning to conquer our planet so they don't even have a true excuse.
* SinisterSilhouettes: The two Pedanian representatives controlling King Joe were never fully seen, spending the entirety of their screentime obscured in the shadows.

!Annon
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/annon_wowow.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': Eyes Shining in the Darkness
-->'''Voiced by:''' Shinji Nakae
An incorporeal eye-like entity from the planet Annon who was separated from his body when he arrived on Earth via a crashed rocket ship that had been sent by Earth to his homeworld a few months back. He befriended a boy named Hiroshi to help him reunite with his body.
----
* BrownNote: In eyeball form, Annon can create a high frequency sound to give others agonizing migraines.
* EyeBeams: His power in rock monster form.
* FacelessEye: His normal form.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: After being beaten by Ultraseven and being told that humanity did not mean to hurt his people he decides to just leave.
* NonMaliciousMonster: He never wanted to conquer Earth or destroy cities, he just wanted to tell humanity to leave him alone.
* RockMonster: An interesting example as the monster is normally a hollow shell, but Annon needs it to be able to make contact with the physical world.

!U-Tom
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultrsvn_utm.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': Underground: Go! Go! Go!
A mysterious class of robots that guard an abandoned subterranean city and its seismic machine. Ultra Garrison ran into them when they had to rescue a miner trapped underground by the earthquakes created by the enigmatic underground city.
----
* AchillesHeel: Their exposed facial workings mean shooting them in the head disables them.
* AmbiguousSituation: What exactly is their backstory? Are they aliens or an ancient underground civilization?
* ArmCannon: Their weapon.
* TheBlank: Just a series of gears instead of a face.
* MightyGlacier: Armed with a powerful laser gun and a sledgehammer hand strong enough to smash rocks, but incredibly slow and lumbering.
* TinCanRobot: What they are essentially.

!Alien Bell
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alien_bell.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': Escape Space X
A cicada-like alien who trapped Soga and Amagi in an alien jungle realm called Space X to let them die lost and confused. In the meantime, he focused on tormenting Dan and Ultra Garrison with his agonizing bell-like cries whenever they tried to contact their vanished teammates.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: The clear shell on his back is identical in appearance to Gumonga, suggesting some correlation, but the exact relationship between them is unknown.
* BrownNote: His cicada-like noises are harmful, even to Dan's alien ears.
* CicadianRhythm: His whole gimmick.
* DimensionLord: He creates Space X as a place for him to torment those unlucky enough to enter it.
* DoppelgangerSpin: Like [[Series/{{Ultraman}} Alien Baltan]], he can create illusions of himself.
* DubNameChange: Gigee (pronounced "gy-jee") in English.
* ForTheEvulz: Unlike most alien invaders he doesn’t really seem to have a motive except for being killing people on an island for no reason.
* InsectoidAliens: Resembles a humanoid cicada.
* MeaningfulName: Named after the chiming noise he makes.
* WeaksauceWeakness: [[spoiler:Ultraseven kills him by shoving him into a lake, where the water dissolves him.]]

!Gumonga
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gumonga_i.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': Escape Space X
A species of giant spider that lived in Alien Bell’s awful jungle realm of Space X to attack unlucky prisoners for his entertainment. Soga and Amagi encountered quite a few of these around Space X.
----
* BreathWeapon: Toxic gas.
* GiantSpider: Not that giant by ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' standards, but still pretty big for a spider.
* PetMonstrosity: Of Alien Bell.

As the sole survivor of its planet's destruction, it flew to Earth to destroy Ultra Garrison for what they had done.

For a while, it was believed that, much like the aforementioned Alien Spell, this monster was effectively ExiledFromContinuity due to controversy surrounding its episode (which was removed from circulation following the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, as said episode revolved around nuclear deterrents). However, these fears seem to have been baseless, as it returned in ''Series/UltramanGeed'', and the episode was shown for the 55th Anniversary airing on the series on [=YouTube=].

* OffWithHisHead: How Seven kills him.
* PetMonstrosity: Sort of. Guts really wanted to use him just to study Ultraseven.

* WingsDoNothing: Despite having wings, he's never seen flying.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Gut'''z''' and Gut'''ts''' are also used.

* UnderestimatingBadassery: They thought just taking out Ultraseven would be enough to have Earth surrender. They didn't expect for the humans to not only to continue fighting, but to save Ultraseven.

A mysterious race of undersea beings that ''claim'' to be the original inhabitants of Earth driven to the sea by humans invading from outer space. When Ultra Garrison begins to build underwater bases, the Nonmalts declared war upon the human race to defend their homes for the second time.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: Whether the Nonmalts actually were alien invaders or the original inhabitants of Earth is left vague in the episode. Similarly, their human envoy's true nature is also left ambiguous.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Although western viewers my be inclined to think of the Native Americans, the backstory of the Nonmalts was based on Okinawan writer Tetsuo Kinjo's own experiences with the repression of the people of the Ryukyu Islands by the imperial Japanese government in World War 2.
* DubNameChange: The Tomatans.
* HumansAreTheRealMonsters: '''IF''' the Nonmalts were telling the truth, then humans are really invaders from another planet.
* {{Ultraterrestrials}}: If what Shinichi (the eponymous envoy) said was true, then the Nonmalts are the original inhabitants of Earth.
* UnreliableNarrator: A major point of the story is whether the Nonmalts were really the original Earthlings or aliens spouting crap to justify their invasion. [[spoiler:It's revealed that they weren't lying in the Heisei series.]]

* HumanAliens: It's implied that they're more than just that... they're humans! In the dub, the Robot Chief outright states that they're humans.
* WeHaveReserves: A variant. The Robot Chief clearly did not care about how the people were killed en masse, but it ended up with the planet running out of humans to use. ''So'' he decided to invade Earth.

* TheCaligula: The Robot Chief considers his subjects to be totally expendable, using them as shooting targets for entertainment and arresting people for being hit by a car.

* CreepyChild: His human disguise.
* CreepyHighPitchedVoice: In his true form, his voice is Hikaru Urano's baritone pitched up.
* CryingWolf: Essentially, the nature of his whole gambit. He didn't count on Ultra Garrison being forced to take the photos seriously anyway.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Acts very friendly to Saburo, but was really just using him as a pawn.
* MasterOfIllusion: How he was able to hide his enormous saucer fleet. Also used in his battle against Ultraseven where he uses loads of psychedelic visuals to confuse both the hero and viewers.

!Alien Salome
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/salome_8.jpg]]

Alien invaders who declared that the human race must either give them Earth in exchange for Mars or be driven to extinction. Refusing either choice, the Terrestrial Defense Forces and Ultra Garrison waged war against the aliens, who sent their monster Pandon to decimate them and began launching attacks across the globe.
----
* DubNameChange: Referred as the Sirrulians of Winser in the dub.
* HandBlast: They can shoot bolts of energy that create force bubbles around targets, which they use to take Amagi hostage.
* KnightOfCerebus: The first invasion in ''Series/UltraSeven'' in which Japan is not the only country attacked definitely makes them this for UG.
* NoMouth: Despite being capable of speech (albeit mostly gibbering noises), they don't have a mouth.
* SadisticChoice: Their decree to Earth -- Go live on Mars or we'll annihilate you all.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Known variously as the the Ghose, the Ghos, and the Goths, due to the lack of a "th" sound in the Japanese language.
* ThisIsADrill: They employ giant drill-nukes capable of destroying entire cities. These drill-nukes can go from their underground base in Japan to the other side of a planet within seconds.
* TheUnintelligible: They're incapable of speaking human languages, so they kidnap Amagi to do the talking for them.

!Pandon
[[quoteright:240:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pandon_fll.png]]
-->'''First Appearance''': The Ultimate Invasion Pt. 1
A two-headed, one-necked monster used by the Ghose as their ultimate weapon of war against Ultra Garrison's forces. Ultraseven managed to slice off one of its arms and one of its legs, but was critically wounded in the battle. Worse still, the Ghose retrieved Pandon's body and replaced its missing limbs with cybernetic ones, creating Reconstructed Pandon.

Remembered as one of Ultraseven's most dangerous foes, Pandon is a popular choice for ''Franchise/UltraSeries'' reappearances due to its sheer popularity and recognizability. It is also worth noting that later incarnations of the monster have often been depicted with two heads on two necks as opposed to the original two-headed, one-necked creature.
----
* AnArmAndALeg: Seven chops one of each off, but the Ghose give him new ones, durable enough to actually catch the Eye Slugger without injury[[note]]Though he actually catches it with his natural arm instead of the cybernetic one[[/note]].
* BarehandedBladeBlock: He manages to catch Seven's Eye Slugger in their rematch. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, he fails to catch it a second time when Seven redirects it to decapitate him.]]
* BlackBeadEyes: He has a comically small pair of black eyes [[https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TinbV8z5QN4/W5mBPHp2SmI/AAAAAAAAgO8/UcSZ8LfdttAptaBqbQ7vadu7-CVIpVs9ACLcBGAs/s1600/SH-Figuarts-Pandon-01.JPG on both of his heads]], though they're not clearly visible in the show.
* BreakoutVillain: Pandon is one of Ultraseven's most popular foes due to his sheer strength, and has received numerous reappearances and redesigns for it.
* BreathWeapon: Two streams of fire. Later incarnations added energy beams too, one red and one blue.
* {{Cyborg}}: As Reconstructed Pandon, it has a mechanical arm and a mechanical leg.
* DubNameChange: A Winser Fire-Beather in the CINAR dub.
* MeaningfulName: Pandon is named after Pandora of Greek mythology, as he first comes out of a large box-like object [[StealthPun (Pandora's Box!)]] to bring pain and suffering into the world.
* MultipleHeadCase / TwoFaced: Two heads. The original one had one neck while many of the later incarnations had two, separating the heads. The concept art had it as a two-headed, two-necked monster as well, but it was changed because there was trouble operating both heads on the suit.
* OffWithHisHead: [[spoiler:Seven finally finishes him off with an Eye Slugger that decapitates him.]]
* PetMonstrosity: Of the Ghose.
* PlayingWithFire: Two streams of flame are better than one! And of all the fire-breathing monsters in the franchise, few have been more closely associated with fire than Pandon, who has appeared as the King Demon Beast of Fire in ''Series/UltramanOrb'' and was nicknamed the Twin-Headed Flame Beast in ''Series/UltramanGinga''
* WeCanRebuildHim: What the Ghose did with him.
* TheWorfEffect: Pummels Ultraseven tirelessly, but...
** WorfHadTheFlu: This was mostly because Seven was far too injured to fight. He couldn't even create an Emerium Beam!
