!Bert Raccoon

%%* {{Adorkable}}
* BroughtToYouByTheLetterS: Bert's trademark red-and-yellow sweater bears his initial.
%%* TheHero
%%** IdiotHero
%%* {{Keet}}
%%* LargeHam
* ManChild: Bert's the same age as Ralph and Melissa, both already married. They all attended the same school, the same grade along with Cedric Sneer. They all graduated from college. So, all of them must be about 25 to 30 years old. Also Bert doesn't live at his own home, Ralph and Melissa let him stay with them. However, almost every chapter we see Bert playing dangerous antics and acting as if he's still a teenager, if not a kid.
%%* NiceGuy
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Peanut butter.
* ZanyScheme: Usually comes up with one once an episode.

!Ralph & Melissa Raccoon

%%* {{Adorkable}}: Though not as glaringly obvious as Cedric or Bert, Ralph has his moments.
%%* TheComicallySerious: Ralph
%%* DeadpanSnarker: Both of them.
%%* HappilyMarried
%%* NiceGirl: Melissa
%%* OfficialCouple
* StraightMan: When with Bert or Cedric, Ralph pretty much takes this role.

!Bentley Raccoon

* BrattyHalfPint: He has his moments.

!Lisa Raccoon

* {{Chickification}}: Lisa goes from sporty girl to an emotional wreck in her second episode. [[TropesAreNotBad However]], it's done ''very'' believably.
* CoolBigSis: Although, she gets annoyed with her younger brother Bentley, she still cares about him.
* PassionateSportsGirl: She enjoys playing basketball and also went on a bicycle race
* TomboyishPonytail: To also go along with her love for basketball.

!Cedric Sneer

%%* {{Adorkable}}
* AmazingTechnicolorWildlife: Like Cyril and Sophia, he's a pink aardvark.
* CharacterDevelopment: Starts out relatively quiet and shy, then gradually becomes more assertive and confident.
* HonestCorporateExecutive: In the finale "Go For Gold", he becomes the president of Sneer Enterprises and is a complete [[AvertedTrope aversion]] of [[CorruptCorporateExecutive his father from the early seasons.]]
* LovableNerd: He may be nerdy but he has a good heart.
* ManChild: He cannot sleep unless his dad comes to sing his favorite lullaby.
* MoralityPet: His father deep down cares about him and can worry for him.
%%* NerdGlasses
* ShrinkingViolet: Male version. At first, but he got more confident as the series went on.
%%* TheSmartGuy
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Chocolate pudding. In ''The Raccoons on Ice'', Cyril threatens to take them away if Cedric joins Bert's team.

!Sophia Tutu

* AmazingTechnicolorWildlife: She's an aardvark with pink fur and blue hair.
* TrueBlueFemininity: A lot of the clothing she wore were blue.
* BreakTheCutie: In "The Raccoons and the Lost Star" when she's imprisoned in Cyril Sneer's dungeon.
* CannotKeepASecret: Even if she tried. Look below TheDitz for an example.
* TheChick: In "The Raccoons In Ice", while the other main cast, were practicing for the hockey game, Sophia was supporting for them, gave them drinks and was somewhat the cheerleader.
* TheCutie: She was the sweetest of the main male character's respectful love interests.
* TheDitz: She was...really naive to say the least. For example in "Rumours!" When she and Cedric was keeping a secret, she told Bert
--> "We're going to prepare for the arrival of the King and Queen! They're coming to the Evergreen Forest, but we can't tell you that, cause it's a secret.({{beat}})Oops!"
* HairDecorations: Her white headband. In "Rumours", she also wore pearls around her head.
* InnocentBlueEyes: She had blue eyes. She was never mean spirited, and was kind hearted.
* LongHairIsFeminine: She always wore her hair down and she was more girly compared to Melissa or Lisa.
* OfficialCouple: With Cedric. They been together for as long as she been in the show.
* OutdoorsyGal: Although, she's more girly, she still enjoys joining out in the forest, riding her bike, exploring, camping, swimming in the lake. She even wears, a sleeveless top, shorts and sneakers.
* PassionateSportsGirl: If riding her bike and participating in the first annual Forest Games, in "Stop The Clock" has anything to say about that.
* [[PutOnABus Put on a train]]: She was DemotedToExtra by season three, where she only appeared in three episodes (her second to last one "The Evergreen Express" where she was in the train). Her final appearance is a cameo in "The Headline Hunter".
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Cedric's a nice guy an Sophia loves him for it.
* WhoWearsShortShorts?: She normally wears white shorts.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: The top part of her hair is straight and it ends down in curls.

%%* TheBigGuy
* GentleGiant: He's big, but he's really nice and friendly.
%%* SecretKeeper

* DependingOnTheWriter: He's either his son or little brother (blood or adopted).
* {{MacGuffin}}: He wears a star on his collar which is important to the plot in ''The Raccoons and the Lost Star''.
* TheUnintelligible: Unlike Schaeffer, he can't speak. He can only bark.

!Cyril Sneer

* BadBoss: Was this to a degree early on. As he softens up, the pigs commit atrocities that are actually deserving of Cyril's frustration at times. What they do in ''The One That Got Away'' for example.
* CharacterDevelopment: The most notable case in the series; from a corrupt JerkAss to a JerkWithAHeartOfGold.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: In the early seasons. Not [[SubvertedTrope so much]] [[CharacterDevelopment as the show progresses.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Even at his nastiest early on in the series, always loved his son Cedric Sneer.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Throughout the series, Cyril has lines he will not cross when it comes to making profits and, more than once, he makes sacrifices for the greater good, especially when it comes to his son, Cedric. It gets to the point where, in the later seasons, the 'evil' part [[AntiHero is practically gone]].
** It shows in ''The One That Got Away''. He is devastated about losing a beloved fishing pond to toxic waste. He eventually finds out the pigs did it as part of a moonlighting job, simply because they needed money. His response?
-->'''Cyril''':[[spoiler: You want money? Here! Here's lots of money! Take it all! Take some more! Just give me back the fishing hole! Can you do that? ''Can you give me a price on that? Can you?'']]
* {{Flanderization}}: [[InvertedTrope Inverted]]. Whilst his lust for profits/money is a recurring trait, the early seasons is when it's at its peak.
* KarmicJackpot: The nicer Cyril got in the series, the more his luck improved because his proper moral choices.
* KickTheDog: Amongst most of his actions in the early episodes, he literally does this to his pet dog, Snag.
* LargeHam: Just hear him talk, or [[EvilLaugh laugh]]!
* LaserGuidedKarma: Received both sides of the karma [[IncrediblyLamePun "coin"]] throughout the series. See KarmicJackpot above.
* TookALevelInKindness: As part of his CharacterDevelopment.

%%* BewareOfViciousDog

!The Pigs

* [[AntiVillain Anti-Villains]]: They're not evil, they're just obeying their boss.
* ButtMonkey: Though they bring it on themselves in the later seasons.
* [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone My God, What Have We Done?]]: [[spoiler: They unknowingly contribute to polluting the waterhole. When they realise what they've done, they're utterly guilt stricken]].
* NoNameGiven: Subverted, while they are very rarely addressed by name, they are in fact called Floyd, Lloyd and Lloyd. Fanon has one of the Lloyds named Boyd.
* OneSteveLimit: Defied, see above.
* YesMan: At least, in the earlier seasons. They try to defy Cyril later on.

!Forest Ranger Dan

%%* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome
* {{Good Parent|s}}: It's never revealed what happened to [[MissingMom his wife]].

* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Along with Ranger Dan and Tommy, she vanished sometime after season one.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: She's a gold natured, friendly girl.
