!Joshua Radcliff (Voiced by YuuichiNakamura)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/joshua_249.png

-->''I'm not fond of tough odds...''

Male protagonist of ''Destiny''. Usually called "Josh" for short, Joshua Radcliffe's an ex-soldier, having fought against the [[MobileSuitVictoryGundam Zanscare Empire]] in the past, but currently goes onto testing HumongousMecha with adoptive sister Cliana Rimskaya. He has mixed feelings about his father Felio Radcliff: at one point, he dislikes him for being too much of a {{Workaholic}}; on the other hand, he respects him. Eventually, at a testing facility in the Antarctic, he gets attacked by [[GetterRobo the Invaders]] and is caught in the Ruina's plan to seal the Earth and destroy it. After learning the Ruina's appearance is indirectly caused by his father, Josh swears to amend Felio's wrongs. Depending on the player's choice, he may recruit the Ruina General of Ice, Glacies.

His story stays the same for the ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Second Super Robot Wars Original Generation]]'', although he is in good leagues with [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsMX Hugo Medio]], and no matter what, he recruits Glacies. In the end, [[spoiler:after finding out Glacies only has three years left to live, he resolves to find a way so she can extend her longevity. With help from [[Characters/CompatiHeroSeries Gilliam Yeager]], Joshua investigates the newly excavated Cross Gate to solve the issue]].

He pilots either the RealRobot "Aile Chevalier" (MidSeasonUpgrade "Geant Chevalier") or the SuperRobot "Ganador" ([[CombiningMecha combines with]] the Strega into the "Forte Gigas"). He can pilot the other mecha, but these two are generally accepted as his default[[note]]He has a higher starting melee stat than his sister, and the "blue" mecha are melee-based[[/note]]. Joshua appears in the ''Second Original Generation'' with his default mecha as the Aile Chevalier.

!!Tropes associated with Joshua:
[[hardline]]
* ArtEvolution: Contrast Joshua's [[http://srwog.velv.net/char_images/joshua.png first appearance]] in ''Destiny'' with his [[http://www.suparobo.jp/srw_lineup/srw_og2nd/character/03.html current counterpart]] in ''Original Generation''. It's actually a subversion, though: the redesign is done by Sachiko Kouno, [=SRW's=] current character designer for its console titles. The original design from ''Destiny'' was by Sachie Suzuki, as Kouno doesn't work on stand-alone portable titles.
* TheAtoner: Father commits the sin, the son atones for it.
* {{BFS}}: Aile Chevalier's Zephyr Sword is quite big, but still can't compare to Geant Chevalier's Neo Beam Blade.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Some people say he's taking it a bit too far with Cliana; then again, they're...
** NotBloodSiblings: Joshua is his father's only blood-related son; Cliana's adopted.
* ButNowIMustGo: [[spoiler:If Cliana recruits Ventus if she's the headlining protagonist]], Joshua leaves the group and does not return for the rest of the game in ''Destiny''.
* CaptainErsatz: The Geant Chevalier to the [[{{Gundam 0083}} Dendrobium Orchis]]
* CombiningMecha, MechaExpansionPack
* HeyItsThatVoice: "[[{{Gundam 00}} HUCKEBEIN, I LOVE YOU!!!!]]"[[note]]Unfortunately, this particular robot line is destroyed before he can marvel on it...[[/note]]
** CastingGag: Aside from that one above, let's face it. Joshua is a combination of many aspects of Yuuichi Nakamura's roles: [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair blue-haired]] like [[VisualNovel/{{CLANNAD}} Tomoya Okazaki]], surrounded with Gundam [[{{Expy}} look-a-likes]], fighting creatures empowered by despair (making him an anti-[[VideoGame/BlazBlue Hazama]] for irony's sake) and has an orange-haired sister that [[LightNovel/OreNoImoutoGaKonnaNiKawaiiWakeGaNai can't be this cute]] (and voiced by [[VisualNovel/{{CLANNAD}} Tomoyo]] [[HoukoKuwashima Sakagami's]] [[RelationshipVoiceActor voice actress]]).
* IKnowYouAreInThereSomewhereFight: His method of snapping and recruiting Glacies.
* {{Leitmotif}}: By default, "Desire"; when using the strongest attack for any machine he pilots, it becomes "Drumfire".
* [[MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter Mad Scientist's Handsome Son]]
* NonIndicativeName: Aile Chevalier means "air knight", yet it's the only protagonist mecha in ''Destiny'' that's incapable of flight.
* ParentalAbandonment: Aside from his estranged father, [[MissingMom there is no mention of his mother]].
* RetiredBadass: Somewhat; he's been fighting the Zanscare Empire just prior to returning to Antarctica.
* {{Shoulder Cannon}}s: Aile Chevalier's Impulse Cannons
* TheStoic: The ''Second Original Generation'' gave him various expressions, but mostly serious, no-smiling portraits, similar to [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsCompact2 Kyosuke Nanbu]]. Naturally, this is {{lampshaded}} in a save-quit dialogue between the two. Ironically, unlike Kyosuke, he's not too fond of tough odds.
* SwissArmyWeapon: Aile Chevalier's Zephyr Sword can be used as a LaserBlade or a rifle.
* WellDoneSonGuy: In the last parts of ''Destiny'', he recalls he was once like this.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Inherited from Felio

!Cliana Rimskaya (voiced by HoukoKuwashima)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rim_8953.png

-->[[spoiler:''Chris...I won't waver anymore.'']]

Female protagonist of ''Destiny''. Called "Rim" for short, Cliana's a sweet girl who happens to possess two personalities: a gentle, friendly, though slightly timid girl called "Chris", the other a stoic, battle-ready girl named "Liana". She gets her dual personality problem as a result of looking through the horrors of war, [[spoiler:but is actually the result of being mercilessly experimented by her adoptive father Felio]]. When ''Destiny'' begins, however, Cliana has already come to terms with her predicament. Like Joshua, she gets caught in the Ruina's plot and rather than just sitting back idly (as her adoptive brother tells her to), she takes to the battlefield, mostly using her stoic self while in the cockpit. She could meet up with the disgraced Ruina General of Wind, Ventus, and recruit him.

Her story is pretty similar in the ''Second Original Generation'', except she meets Ventus no matter what. In a twist, there aren't any implications of [[spoiler: experiments by Felio. However, Cliana's split personality is a result of early testing with the Sympathia System, which resulted in Liana, an incomplete Melior Esse, SharingABody with Chris. Chris's consciousness eventually disappears, and the encounter with Perfectio reveals that Chris was the original personality of Cliana. Despite her pleas, Ventus will volunteer to sacrifice himself to seal Perfectio away. Although saddened, Liana holds the belief that she'll meet Ventus and Chris again one day, and joins her brother and Gilliam to investigate the Cross Gate]].

She usually pilots the RealRobot "Blanche Neige" (upgrades into the "Dea Blanche Neige") or the SuperRobot "Strega", which combines with the Ganador to form the Forte Gigas[[note]]The "yellow" mecha have useful long-range attacks, and she starts out with a good shooting stat[[/note]]. Cliana appears in the ''Second Original Generation'' with the Blanche Neige as her default mecha.

!!She embodies these tropes:
[[hardline]]
* ActionGirl: Liana
* ArtEvolution: Subversion, due to her original [[http://srwog.velv.net/char_images/rim.png design]] in ''Destiny'' being done by Sachie Suzuki, while [[http://www.suparobo.jp/srw_lineup/srw_og2nd/character/08.html her new look]] for ''Original Generation'' is current franchise character designer Sachiko Kouno, who usually works with console releases than stand-alone portable titles.
* AwesomeMcCoolName: "Cliana" is a combination of both her personalities "Chris" and "Liana".
* {{BFG}}, BeamSpam, MacrossMissileMassacre, MoreDakka: Blanche Neige is practically loaded with these. They're separated, though, in the form of the backup fighter "Ars Nova". Dea Blanche Neige plays it straight.
* ButNowIMustGo: [[spoiler: If Joshua recruits Glacies when he's the headlining protagonist]], Cliana will leave the party and will not return for the rest of ''Destiny''.
** [[spoiler:In a way, Chris says the same near the end of the ''Second Original Generation'', regardless of how much Liana begs her not to]].
* CombiningMecha, MechaExpansionPack
* CordonBleughChef: She has a really weird sense of taste; for instance, Cliana likes to put chocolate or strawberry jam into rice balls. Unless one's an extreme SweetTooth (like [[Characters/MasouKishin Tytti Noorbuck]], [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Ing Egret]] or [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Ibis Douglas]]), chances are no one else will like it.
* {{Gainaxing}}: The ''Second Original Generation'' gives her this, just like the rest of the girls.
* [[spoiler:GuiltComplex]]: [[spoiler: Liana carries this at the end of the ''Second Original Generation'', feeling guilty on the belief she caused Chris to perish]].
* [[spoiler:HeroicBSOD]]: [[spoiler: When finding out that she is the artificial personality and an incomplete Melior Esse instead of the original, and that her existence caused Chris, the original personality, to disappear, Liana was in utter shock]].
* HeyItsThatVoice: Let's just say HoukoKuwashima has done several roles to draw out both sides of Cliana. For Chris, there's [[VisualNovel/{{CLANNAD}} Tomoyo]] (making Joshua's voice casting even more hilarious) and [[MartianSuccessorNadesico Yurika Misumaru]]; for Liana, there's [[{{Inuyasha}} Sango]] and [[GundamSEED Natarle Badgiruel]].
* JapanesePronouns: Chris uses "watashi", Liana uses "atashi".
* JapaneseSiblingTerminology: Chris refers to Josh as "onii-chan" (ie, "big brother), while Liana calls him "aniki" (ie, "bro" or "boss"). [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsMX Aqua Centrum]] [[LampshadeHanging points out]] the difference during Cliana's combat debut and is naturally puzzled.
* {{Leitmotif}}: By default, "Duologue"; when using the strongest attack for any machine she pilots, it becomes "Duet".
* MsFanservice: Cliana's pretty stacked, [[SleevesAreForWimps wears a sleeveless vest]], and with the exception of her shoes, [[ShowSomeLeg her legs are widely shown]]. She definitely is this for the ''Destiny'' cast.
* NonIndicativeName: "Blanche Neige" means "Snow White" in French, yet it has no Literature/{{Snow White|and the Seven Dwarfs}} references (unlike [[Characters/EndlessFrontier Neige Hausen]]), no ice-based attacks, and its primary color is yellow.
* NotBloodSiblings: Somehow, being adopted makes it a prerequisite to be [[spoiler:experimented on]].
* ParentalAbandonment: Even worse than Joshua - her parents are dead.
* SleevesAreForWimps: She wears a vest and a skirt in ''friggin' Antarctica''! And not even shivering at that. Probably justified that [[spoiler:her time being a experiment by Felio for quite some time (in Antartica) made her get used to it]]
* SplitPersonality: What it works out to, although it plays out as a SharingABody situation. If anyone asks, it's residual trauma from the Zanscare invasion. [[spoiler:In reality, it's the result of Professor Radcliff experimenting on her, though he feels guilty about it]], and she really doesn't hold a grudge. Neither Chris and Liana no longer remember who's the original personality.
** [[spoiler:Rectified in the ''Second Original Generation'', with Liana being the constructed one and Chris inferred as Cliana's original personality. This is also {{deconstructed}} as both had accepted each other as another family member instead of a nuisance; with Chris gone, Liana doesn't feel exactly right or complete. Furthermore, since Chris is the original, Liana feels extremely guilty that she is the one to remain in the world and replace the original]].
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Is this with herself, essentially.
* WaveMotionGun: Blanche Neige's Line Lock Launcher

! Clifford Gygax
An assistant to Professor Radcliffe, Clifford is the co-developer of the Res Arcana system. In ''Destiny'' and the ''Second Original Generation'', he serves as the MrExposition for Joshua and Cliana.

! Felio Radcliffe
Joshua's biological father, the amoral, workaholic scientist Felio saw it fit to experiment on [[spoiler: his adoptive daughter Cliana]] to further develop the Sympathia System, [[spoiler: resulting in her SplitPersonality]]. This led to a rift between father and son. Stationed in the Antarctic, during a trip to the Fabula Forest, [[spoiler: Felio accidentally opened an interdimensional gateway, allowing the Ruina to enter the world. With Felio's soul obliterated, his body becomes the host to Perfectio]].

In contrast to his ''Destiny'' counterpart, Felio in the ''Second Original Generation'' is less of a jerk; for instance, he feels guilty of having [[spoiler: put Cliana through the Sympathia System to test out its limitations]]. His children are more fond of him and he leaves video messages in several places to assist them in acquiring their {{Mid Season Upgrade}}s.
[[hardline]]
* AssholeVictim: ''Destiny'' only. With what little you have about him (alongside his {{Jerkass}}ery and ForScience attitude), you'd probably think that [[spoiler: he had it coming after opening the gate leading to the Ruina]].
** TookALevelInKindness: In the ''Second Original Generation''
* CrazyPrepared: He made the Weapon Box Hanger which held Giant Chevalier and Dear Blanche Neige/Forte Gigas as insurance should his research backfire. He even left a message when the Weapon Box Hanger was utilized and the Sympathia system synchronizes with the new unit(s).
* EyesOfGold
* MadScientist

! Gishin Empire

Based on the same galactic empire from ''{{Godmars}}'', the Gishin Empire in ''Destiny'' conquered the planets [[Anime/MiraiRoboDaltanious Helios]] and [[{{Grendizer}} Fleed]] and plan on conquering the Earth next.
[[hardline]]
* BigBad: [[{{Godmars}} Emperor Zuul]]
* CloningBlues: Kroppen is a clone of Harin.
* CoDragons: Gandal, Kroppen and Wahl
* CompositeCharacter: Of the evil alien empires from ''UFORoboGrendizer'', ''Anime/MiraiRoboDaltanious'' and ''God Mars''
* DragonWithAnAgenda: Wahl
* InNameOnly
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: Kroppen donates his vital organs to Harin after the latter is attacked by a Gishin assassin and dies after saving Harin's life.
* TakingYouWithMe: Gandal will attempt to do this during the final fight against him.
* TheEmpire
* {{Robeast}}: A primary part of their {{mooks}}.
* PhysicalGod: Emperor Zuul
* UnwittingPawn: Kroppen

! Neo Zeon (Destiny only)

Based on the same-named faction from ''MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack'', the Neo Zeon in ''Destiny'' nearly succeeded with dropping the Axis colony onto Earth, but due to the Zanscare Empire invading, the appearance of the Invaders and [[{{Macross 7}} Protodeviln]], the combined galatic Gishin Empire, and the sealing of the Earth by the Ruina, Neo Zeon negoitates with the captured [[CharsCounterattack Londo Bell]] for a ceasefire to combat the combined threat in the game.
[[hardline]]
* BigGood: [[CharsCounterattack Char Aznable]], a rare occurrence in [=SRW=] for him as this.
* EnemyMine: With the Londo Bell forces
* InNameOnly
* NearVillainVictory: Was about to ColonyDrop Axis onto Earth (since they captured the Londo Bell), but the Ruina sealed it away, kicking off the ''Destiny'' plot.
* TookALevelInKindness: Char is less obsessed with his former ambition of forcing everyone to become Newtypes and becomes a major leader of the Blue Square.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: Char and [[MobileSuitZetaGundam Haman Karn]]

!Ruina

The primary antagonists of ''Destiny'', this interdimensional race feeds on negative emotions: when they gather enough power, they can use it to annihilate a universe, and if they are around a CrapsackWorld...well, you can guess what happens. Led by Perfectio, they're brought to the universe by [[spoiler: Felio, who opened the gate to their world and they end up possessing him and his co-workers in the original GBA Game, in ''Second Original Generation'' they were born from Felio's memories and knowledge]]. The Ruina Generals, or "Melior Esse", are created by Perfectio from human hosts assisting him, but there are some not under Perfectio's complete control and may just be able to break free...

!!Tropes associated with the Ruina in general:
[[hardline]]
* DemonicPossession
* {{Emotion Eater}}s
* {{Energy Being}}s
* EpicFlail: Belgrande series {{mook}}s
* GrandTheftMe
* [[AltusVidetur Gratuitous Latin]], ThemeNaming: Pretty much all Ruina characters and mecha
* TheHeartless: The backbone of the Ruina
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Devastator" for the Melior Esse
* MeaningfulName
** "Angelus" {{mooks}} = "angel"
** "Aquila" = "eagle", "Fortes Ala" = "strong wind"
*** Fortes Ala's "Diruptio" = "disruption, "Sagitta Lumen" = "light arrow", Calidum Sagitta = "hot arrow"
** "Ignis" = "fire", "Impetus" = "attack"
*** Impetus' "Graue Flamma" = "weighted flame", "Exhalatio" = vapor
** "Contagio" = "infection", "Violaceum" = "violet"

** "Perfection" = "perfection", "Fatum" = "fate"
*** Fatum's "Tenebrae" = "darkness", "Ultimum" = "last/final"
* TheCorruption: The Recruitment method for the Melior Esse. All of them are beings who touched the "key" which eroded their own souls for knowledge. The Sympathia units are warped versions of it.
* [[PlantAliens Plant Machines]]: The Skullplume {{mook}}s have this vibe.

!!Aquila (Voiced by Masaya Takatsuka)

The Ruina General of Sky, pilots the Fortes Ala.
[[hardline]]
* BaldOfEvil: Mostly in the ''Second Original Generation''. Aquila used to have a single ponytail in ''Destiny'', but it's completely gone for this game.
* TheBrute
* EyepatchOfPower
* MacrossMissileMassacre: The wings of the Fortes Ala have individual missiles that function like this. They upgrade to [[HomingProjectile homing missiles]] in the ''Second Original Generation''.
* ScaryBlackMan: For the ''Second Original Generation''; he's ''red-skinned'' in ''Destiny''.

!!Ignis (Voiced by Ryouta Takeuchi)

The Ruina General of Fire, pilots the Impetus. He's the first of the Melior Esse in ''Destiny'' to appear and reveled in making people [[ThePowerOfHate hate him, as anger is what empowers him]], including killing someone close to one of the heroes. In the ''Second Original Generation'', Ignis' personality stays the same, who harbors little care for his own allies, though he has a notable soft spot for Glacies, and is rather crushed to discover her pulling a HeelFaceTurn to join Joshua. When Ignis dies, he calls out her name in sorrow.
[[hardline]]
* AlasPoorVillain: In the ''Second Original Generation'', rather than curse the [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Steel Dragon Battle Group]] upon defeat for beating him, Ignis goes on a rant on why Glacies is leaving him behind, and curses the group for 'ruining' Glacies, his mate, until he realizes that he's able to feel his own hate and sorrow just like Glacies and Ventus, his last words being a sorrowful "[[InSeriesNickname Ra... ki...]]". Meaning that he was that close to be a redeemable Melior Esse before he bit the dust. The event is played with SadBattleMusic, as opposed to "Devastator" when other Melior Esse are destroyed. Made more plausible that in this continuity, he didn't (or has yet to) kill anyone close to the heroes.
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Purple skin with orange-red hair
* AxCrazy: Ignis couples this with EvilLaugh
* TheDragon
* EvilRedhead
* HotBlooded: Goes with the entire fire-based Impetus
* {{Jerkass}}: For a reason
* PlayingWithFire, KillItWithFire
* ThePowerOfHate: While every Ruina is empowered by negative emotions, from his combat dialogue, Ignis is the one who keeps goading his attackers to hate him.
* YouKilledMyFather: In ''Destiny'', [[MazingerZ Kouji Kabuto]] and [[GreatMazinger Tetsuya Tsurugi]] quickly develop grudges on him when he blatantly reveals that he killed Kenzo Kabuto.

!!Contagio (Voiced by Creator/BinShimada)

->''"Fight, tremble, scream, and despair! Fall into chaos until there's nothing left! Kuhahahaha!"''

The Ruina General of Disease and Plague, and pilots the Violaceum. The most non-human in appearance of the Melior Esse, he appears midway through the game and introduces the Skullplume {{mook}}s.
[[hardline]]
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Contagio looks like a lizard-like humanoid.
* AmbiguousRobots: You'd be hard-pressed to believe that the Violaceum has anything resembling a cockpit inside it. Same goes for the Skullplumes.
* CombatTentacles
* EvilGenius
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent

!!Ventus (Voiced by Creator/KenjiNojima)

-->''This constructed life is the same, but even when it comes to death I still have no freedom''

The Ruina General of Wind, pilots the Studium. He's considered a defect amongst the Ruina and mostly abandoned. He only appears in Cliana's scenario and is nonexistent in Joshua's. While Ventus is potentially recruitable using the same Sympatia System as Glacies, by doing so, [[spoiler: the player permanently loses Joshua and his machine for the rest of ''Destiny'']]. In the ''Second Original Generation'', Ventus is a more active Melior Esse: he is a control device used for Perfectio to harness negative waves and channel them to awaken him, and battles against Cliana and Joshua. Unlike ''Destiny'', Ventus defects by default, and aligns with them. [[spoiler:Ultimately, Ventus volunteers to seal Perfectio forever so he cannot be a threat to Earth again. Despite this, Joshua, Cliana and Glacies resolve to find a way at the end of the ''Second Original Generation'' to bring him back into their dimension, without damaging the seal]].
[[hardline]]
* AnimeHair
* BootstrappedLeitmotif: If he joins in ''Destiny'', Ventus inherits Cliana's default theme. In the ''Second Original Generation'', he gets a remix of "Duologue" called "Deliverer".
* GoodCostumeSwitch: After changing sides he ditches the white coat he wears for a brown one.
* HeelFaceTurn
* [[spoiler:HeroicSacrifice]]: [[spoiler: In the ''Second Original Generation'', Ventus takes up the role of [[GundamWing Treize Khushrenada]] and is the one to seal Perfectio]].
* NamesTheSame: No relation to another [[KingdomHearts Ventus]], [[SpellMyNameWithAnS if that is the spelling of his name]].
** InSeriesNickname: If it is, then they both incidentally have the same nickname of "Ven" when he joins.
* PileBunker: Studium's Wyvern Bunker
* SecretCharacter: Only in ''Destiny''
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Is it "Ventus" or "Wentus"? In-game, it's written "ウエントス" (U-e-n-to-su; "Wentus") rather than "ヴェントス" (V-e-n-to-su; "Ventus")
* TransformingMecha: The Studium can switch from a humanoid form to a wyvern form.
* TheUnFavorite: Often called "the failure" by the other Ruina Generals.

!!Glacies (Voiced by Creator/YukaKomatsu)

-->''All that possess a soul, all that inhabit a body of flesh.. shall be guided down the path of destruction, unto the depths of anguish. All for the "King of Ruin"''

The Ruina General of Ice, piloting the Fabularis. While decidedly a cool and mysterious Melior Esse, Joshua is able to get in touch with her with through the Sympatia System, causing her to develop her own humanity and make her pull a HeelFaceTurn, although it comes with a price: [[spoiler: she only has 3 years remaining in her life]]. In addition, [[spoiler:if the player successfully recruits her, Cliana will permanently leave the part in ''Destiny'']]. She remains villainous to the end in Cliana's scenario. In the ''Second Original Generation'', Glacies plays a similar role, but joins Joshua by default. [[spoiler: By the end of the game, Glacies stays with Joshua and Cliana to find a way to bring Ventus back without damaging the seal on Perfectio, while the other two also try to discover how to make Glacies able to live longer than just three years]].
[[hardline]]
* AnIcePerson
* ArtEvolution: Like Joshua and Cliana, this is a subversion as the artist for the ''Second Original Generation'' is different than the artist for ''Destiny''.
* BootstrappedLeitmotif: Once she joins, Glacies inherits Joshua's default theme. She gets her own for the ''Second Original Generation'' called "Destine", a remix of "Desire".
* CoolSword
* DoesNotLikeShoes: Her updated artwork for the ''Second Original Generation'' has Glacies going barefoot.
* EyesOfGold
* FishOutOfWater: When recruited; justified that after being possessed by the Ruina for so long, she has forgotten what it's like to be human.
* HeelFaceTurn
* GoodCostumeSwitch: Goes from wearing a kimono-like outfit to a white and pink outfit similar to Joshua's.
* InSeriesNickname: Her name is usually shortened to "Lacie" when she joins, though due to Japanese spelling, it's more referred as "Raki".
* KimonoFanservice: When she's still evil, if you want to count on a form of EvilIsSexy. But either way, Glacies [[TokenWholesome is always covered]].
* SecretCharacter: Only in ''Destiny''
* [[spoiler: YourDaysAreNumbered]]
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Less blue and more like teal or aquamarine

!!Umbra (Voiced by Hiroko Uchida)

-->''Thy tears of sorrow and crimson lifeblood are as the finest wine, and thy moans and sonorous cries shall be the most sublime melody.''

The Ruina General of Darkness, and pilots the Priscus Nox. The last of the Melior Esse to appear in ''Destiny'', she is also the only other female Ruina General besides Glacies.
[[hardline]]
* EvilSoundsDeep: So deep that it's hard to believe Umbra is female and voiced by a [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wm7wYqbmlY4 woman]]. Her voice sounds about as deep as '''{{Satan}}'''.
* DarkChick: Which is fitting, given her MeaningfulName.
* TheFaceless: Umbra's face is never seen and always shrouded in robes and scarfs.
* [[GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere Melior Esse From Nowhere]]: Umbra is given little character introduction and is literally dropped into the game during the last scenarios of ''Destiny''. Averted for the ''Second Original Generation'', as she's pretty active from the start after the Ruina appear.
* WolverineClaws: The main weapon of the Priscus Nox

!! Schwarzwald

Pilot of the Big Duo, he is same-named character from ''Anime/TheBigO''. In ''Destiny'', Schwarzwald joins the Ruina due to having gone mad from coming into contact with them.
[[hardline]]
* CharClone: Schwarzwald is a masked character with his own agenda, TheRival to [[Anime/TheBigO Roger Smith]], and pilots the Big Duo, which is more maneuverable than before (three times faster).
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Schwarzwald was an [[MobileSuitGundamWing Organization of Zodiac]] operative who went to the Antarctic on a group expedition after the Earth got sealed off. When he and his companions were attacked by the Ruina, Schwarzwald went [[GoMadFromTheRevelation crazy]]. In this next appearance, he's covered in bandages, trying to teach people the "meaning of destruction" with the Ruina, and generally acts like a CompositeCharacter of SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker, [[Franchise/{{Batman}} Scarecrow]], and a mummy with a flying [[Anime/TheBigO Megadeus]].
** For the most part he acted a lot like SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker in Big O, the bandages are a result of him undoing the lock on the prototype Megadeus underground, in one of the earlier episodes which resulted in his immolation. Originally he was a reporter who cut ties to Paradigm City. He joined Organization of Zodiac as a hired hand as part of his job as a reporter.
* TheQuisling: Aligned with the Ruina because he believes that humanity was meant to be destroyed by them.

!!Perfectio (Voiced by Creator/ToshihikoSeki)

-->''I am Destruction. I am Chaos. All things shall be erased. I am that which drives this infinitely expanding universe back towards the perpetual darkness of the origin.''

The leader of the Ruina, a being that feeds on hate and ruins many dimensions in order to be satiated. He is released into the world by [[spoiler:Felio and proceeds to possess his body]], and kickstarted the eventual Ruina invasion by sealing the Earth. As a being made of hate, Perfectio [[NighInvulnerability is immortal and cannot be killed]], but he is defeated [[spoiler:when [[GundamWing Treize Khushrenada]] sacrificed his life by pushing Perfectio back to his realm and sealed both of them together there. In the ''Second Original Generation'', Ventus does this in place of Treize]].
[[hardline]]
* AlternateCompanyEquivalent: An incomprehensible cosmic abomination that channels itself through the body of a dangerously inquisitive scientist who accidentally opened the door to a dimension where it slumbered after having consumed several other worlds. It's in our world now, creating untold madness in its wake, feeding on humankind's despair, misery and hatred, while it grows strong enough to annihilate existence itself. Oh, and no matter how hard you try, you'll never be able to kill it, not even with all your technology and heroic resolve. Hmmm....so this is what [[Creator/HPLovecraft Lovecraft]] himself would have devised if he was asked to create a villain for a SuperRobot anime. And what the heroes fought was only just a small branch that was able to manifest into the world.
* BeamSpam: One of the Fatum's "lesser" attacks.
* BigBad: Of ''Destiny''
** BigBadEnsemble: In the ''Second Original Generation''. Of the major enemy factions in the game (the Ruina, [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration the Garden of Baral]], [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration the Gaia Savers]] and the [[spoiler: [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsClassic Guests]]]]), Perfectio is ''the'' biggest threat. [[spoiler: The exception is [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Euzeth Gozzo]], though he admits it's unlikely even for him to defeat Perfectio single-handedly. Naturally, [[TheChessmaster he had the Steel Dragon Battle Group do it for him]]]].
* {{Bishonen}}: Creepy as it is, its [[BodyAndHost human avatar/marionette]] is quite a handsome guy. Not seen with clarity during ''Destiny'' due to the limits of the hardware, but the ''Second Original Generation'' shows him in full detail.
* CharacterNameAlias: Perfectio even admitted that the name he has is only the result of the memories and knowledge of the body he is in control of.
* EldritchAbomination: So long as the gate to its dimension remains open, Perfectio's unkillable.
* EvilIsVisceral: Its ''Second Original Generation'' counterpart has overtones of this.
* GrayGoo: The large beam cannons in ''Destiny'' are replaced with a sea of black goo in the ''Second Original Generation'', spewed from the lower section of the Fatum.
* HopeCrusher: Perfectio's power makes everyone affected jump across the DespairEventHorizon, like it or not. Also enforced that Perfectio feeds on negative emotions, despair is one of the finest.
** This led to some rumors in ''Destiny'' that [[{{Macross 7}} the Sound Force]] would be able to do a lot of damage to Perfectio as his skill was somehow misinterpreted to be like the [[{{Macross 7}} Protodevlin]] ability. Unfortunately, this is later {{Jossed}} and neither [[{{Macross 7}} Basara Nekki nor Mylene Jenius]] can attack Perfectio.
* HumanoidAbomination: It turned [[spoiler:Felio]] into one of these. Not seen in ''Destiny'', because of system limitations, but the ''Second Original Generation'' shows it all.
* HungryMenace: However, it doesn't want anything as mundane as flesh or steel to satiate its hankering - it feeds on pure despair and rage.
** Also, the original version of its FinishingMove involved summoning several masks [[HorrorHunger that devoured your mecha and their pilots]].
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Despair", which most fans remember it by its FanNickname, "King of Ruin", due to the ''Destiny'' themes not getting named until the ''Second Original Generation''.
* [[MalevolentMaskedMen Malevolent Masked Abomination]]: The Fatum "wields" a pair of creepy masks on both of [[BizarreAlienBiology its "arms"]]. It uses them to perform all of its attacks, and it can even summon smaller replicas of them. Overlaps with:
** {{Cool Mask}}s
** {{Expressive Mask}}s: They even [[TearsOfBlood "cry" a blood-like substance]] in the ''Second Original Generation''.
** EvilMask: A metaphorical case rather than a literal use of the trope, but the spirit is the same ([[spoiler: with Perfectio itself being the mask that corrupted Felio]]).
* NighInvulnerability: Evidence points to him having CompleteImmortality.
* OmnicidalManiac
* PsychicPowers
* ShoutOut: Perfectio's human form bears an uncanny resemblance to [[{{Trigun}} Legato Bluesummers]], coincidentally also voiced by Creator/ToshihikoSeki and holds a similar nihilistic attitude.
* ThisIsADrill: The Fatum wields several that pop-out of its masks' mouths and eyes. The ''Second Original Generation'' turns it UpToEleven by just having one large drill.
* WaveMotionGun
