[[quoteright:233:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cviper_3009.jpg]]
-->''"My gadgets are cheating? How naïve... Nothing in life is fair. Remember that."''

->'''Voiced by:''' MieSonozaki (''VideoGame/StreetFighterIV'', ''[[VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom3 Marvel vs. Capcom 3]]''; Japanese), MichelleRuff (''Street Fighter IV'', ''Marvel vs. Capcom 3''; English)

->Full name Crimson Viper. A spy from the CIA acting as a mole in Seth's organization. She was sent to gather data on [[FunWithAcronyms S.I.N.]] ('''S'''hadaloo '''I'''ntimidation '''N'''etwork) and its BLECE Project, and to stop them. Her real name is [[spoiler:Maya]] and she has a daughter named Lauren.

* ActionMom: She's stated to have a daughter in the game, and in the tie-in film, the little girl is shown in several scenes. And in the ending animation sequence of her Arcade Mode in ''Super Street Fighter IV'', she meets up with Lauren, giving her a hug and telling her that she loves her.
* AlternateCompanyEquivalent: Not so much in her fighting style but in her story, she's arguably Capcom's interpretation of Vanessa from ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters'' (both being female secret agents with a family life back at home).
* AmbiguouslyBrown: In some [[http://img509.imageshack.us/i/famitsucover.jpg/ artwork.]] She's likely mixed-race.
* AnimalMotifs: Her code name is Crimson Viper. Her red hair is styled to resemble a snake, with a loose strand forming the tongue, even.
* BadassInANiceSuit: Her main outfit.
* BadassLongcoat: As her alternate costume.
** BadassLabcoat: As her third alternate costume.
* BareYourMidriff: Her default and first alternate costumes, the alternate more so than the default.
* {{Bifauxnen}}: Subverted--When first introduced, her back braid was not seen a lot, and if it wasn't for her breasts, she might've passed as a guy, what with wearing a tuxedo. Now that it's known that she has that braid...
* BreakoutCharacter
* CapcomVsWhatever: She joined the cast of ''Marvel vs. Capcom 3'', being the first of the new ''Street Fighter'' characters to be in a ''Vs.'' game. This meant she achieved in three years what several Capcom characters have failed to do in many: appear in a ''Vs.'' game.
* CleavageWindow: Divided in two by the tie.
* ClothesMakeTheSuperman
* CodeName: Crimson Viper.
* CombatPragmatist: Because she uses a battle suit to fight, she's been labeled a cheater and dishonorable to some of the World Warriors. See the win quote at the top of Viper's bio for her response.
* CombatStilettos
* ConfusionFu: In the hands of a master, fighting against her is a constant guessing game.
* CoolShades
* DarkActionGirl: Subverted: she seems to be a {{reverse mole}} in regards to S.I.N., and while cold to the other warriors ''does'' have a kinder side that she shows [[MoralityPet to her little girl]].
* DarkSkinnedRedhead
* DifficultButAwesome: She's generally thought of to be the hardest character in the game to learn, because her moves demand a very high execution curve. However, her [[ConfusionFu unpredictable mixups]] and [[LightningBruiser raw speed and power]] more than make up for it, if she is mastered.
* TheDragon: She's played as one for Seth in ''Street Fighter IV'' and in the tie-in film, but she's apparently a reverse mole instead.
* EyeBeams: Possibly in response to fan demand for [[Franchise/{{X-Men}} Cyclops]] that never panned out in ''Marvel vs. Capcom 3'', her shades get the ability to do this in ''Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3'' as a special known as [[ShoutOut Optic Laser]].
* ForeignFanservice: American, and her 98cm bust is the biggest among any female in the series. Ironically, Chun-Li is still bigger in-game.
* GoodHairEvilHair: She boasts a delinquent pompadour, hinting at her duplicitous nature.
* GroinAttack: C. Viper pulls off a rare female version on Cammy in ''The Ties That Bind''. With a fistful of lightning no less.
* [[spoiler:{{Guile Hero}}ine: Viper works for the CIA, is the reverse mole to S.I.N., investigates Shadaloo, apparently drops anonymous tips to the other fighters, etc.]]
* IHaveAFamily
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She can be kinda icy to the other World Warriors. Still, she is ''sweet and cuddly'' with her little daughter as seen at the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HATO7gmYF_4 end of her arcade mode]] in ''Super Street Fighter IV''.
** It also shows in some of her win quotes against certain opponents in ''SSFIV''; while most of her comments are rather caustic, some of them have express a genuine interest in and sympathy for her opponents' personal situations.
--> (''to Guile'') ''"Whose dog tags are those? Ah, I see. You're fighting for a lost friend..."''
--> (''to Ibuki'') ''"I used to skip school all the time, too. Those were the days..."''
* LightningBruiser: C. Viper is not only quick, but her combos deliver a ''ton'' of damage.
** Also, due to her ''Thunder Knuckle'' attack, she's also a literal Lightning Bruiser...
* MysteriousWoman: Even provides the page quote.
* NoodleIncident: A serious version: in her appearance in ''Marvel vs. Capcom 3'', her win quote against M.O.D.O.K. is "Haven't had dealings with A.I.M. in a long time". This implies that she has a backstory of missions similar to the one she has in ''SFIV'' that we don't see anything of.
* NothingPersonal: She's here on an assignment, nothing more and nothing less.
* PlayingWithFire
* PunchClockHero[=/=]PunchClockVillain: She seems to be highly uninterested in fighting, only using this as a means to an end to complete her mission.
* RapunzelHair: Her braid reaches down to the back of her knees.
* ReverseMole: Heavily implied that she's a CIA agent working undercover.
* TheRival: To Chun-Li, every time they encounter each other.
* SensualSpandex[=/=]SexyBacklessOutfit: Her second DLC costume.
* ShockAndAwe
* ShockwaveStomp: She can punch the ground underneath her really hard, generating ''localized'' shockwaves at different distances, depending on the strength of the punch used.
* StatuesqueStunner
* [[TheMenInBlack The Woman In Black]]
* XRaySparks: Thunder Knuckle has this effect on her opponents.

[[folder:Abel - ''France'']]
[[quoteright:100:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/frenchfag_214.png]]
[[quoteright:253:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/abel_1944.jpg]]
-->''"Street fighting is all about analysis, prediction, and reaction. That's it."''

->'''Voiced by:''' Kenji Takahashi (''Street Fighter IV'', ''VideoGame/StreetFighterXTekken''; Japanese), Creator/JasonLiebrecht (''Street Fighter IV'', ''Street Fighter X Tekken''; English)

-> A ridiculously tall and large young Frenchman who uses mixed martial arts. He is an amnesiac who was taken in by a mercenary who rescued him from one of Shadaloo's bases. After the mercenary died, he decided to hunt down surviving members of Shadaloo, believing them to be the connection to his lost memories. He enters the ''Street Fighter IV'' tournament to find out Shadaloo's connection to the S.I.N. corporation.

* ApologeticAttacker: More than one of his quotes have him either apologizing to his opponent or showing some worry for their well-being.
* [[spoiler:CloningBlues: It is hinted in Seth's story mode and Abel's ending that Abel may be a clone of Seth, or perhaps Seth's original.]]
* ConfusionFu: One of his unlockable titles is "Mixup Master."
* FrenchJerk: [[AvertedTrope Nope.]]
* GentleGiant: Has a thing for dogs, specially the white puppy he befriends in his ''Super SFIV'' prologue. [[spoiler:Who happily comes to greet him in his ending, as Abel happily says [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments "It's good to be back home."]]]]
* GoodScarsEvilScars: While is more apparent in the art for the character than on his actual in-game model, Abel has his body CoveredWithScars from head to toe, similarly to Zangief.
* {{Gratuitous|ForeignLanguage}}... ''[[AsLongAsItSoundsForeign Something]]'': His voice in English has a particularly muddled accent that randomly switches from English to French to German to... [[NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent You wouldn't know he's French if not for the flag in his selection screen picture]].
** GratuitousFrench: He now actually uses a little French in his ''Street Fighter X Tekken'' appearance - "En garde, s'il vous plaît." ("Get ready please" more or less) and "Aidez-moi!" (Help!) when he tags out.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Linked to Shadaloo. As such, he's something of an ManChild. Just see the below trope.
* LightningBruiser
* LoonyFan: In ''IV'', his rival battle is against Fei Long. He's a huge fan of Fei Long's movies; when Fei Long meets him in Fei's rival battle, Abel expresses his admiration of the guy by ''picking a fight with him''. You'll laugh when a sound byte of Abel saying, "I've seen all of your movies~!" plays after, say, Abel using his HCB + P command throw on Fei Long.
* QuestForIdentity: "Someone out there must know something about me. I've got to find them!"
* ProtagonistWithoutAPast
* [[spoiler:SpearCounterpart: Of Cammy, arguably. They're both young, amnesiac clones of the BigBad of the game they first appeared in, and both enter the tournament in order to find out who they really are. They're also both blond with light blue eyes, and also share a [[GoodScarsEvilScars scarred face]]. However [[KindheartedCatLover Cammy prefer cats]] [[HeroesLoveDogs while Abel chooses dogs]].]]
* UhOhEyes: His eyes briefly turn black during his Soulless Ultra, [[spoiler:hinting at his connection to Seth.]]
* UnnecessaryCombatRoll: Abel incorporates the Marseilles Roll, a rolling maneuver, in his fighting style. Although, this move is actually effective when it comes to closing the distance on projectile-spamming foes, or dodging attacks, so it's actually a ''necessary'' combat roll.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Possibly as an homage to K' from ''The King of Fighters'', who looks like he's in his 20s but is actually 16.

[[folder:El Fuerte - ''Mexico'']]
[[quoteright:100:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mexico_2034.png]]
[[quoteright:287:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elfuerte_6008.jpg]]
-->''"In the ring or in the kitchen, no one can beat me!"''

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/DaisukeOno (''Street Fighter IV''; Japanese), Creator/JBBlanc (''Street Fighter IV''; English)

->A luchador/aspiring chef. He enters the tournament to find the perfect recipe for his new delicacy. El Fuerte is an old friend of T.Hawk.

* CatchPhrase: '''"IT'S SUPER DYNAMIC COOKING TIME!!!"'''
* ChefOfIron: Type 1. He enters the tournament to find new recipe ideas.
* ConfusionFu: El Fuerte has a normal move called Habanero Dash, where he runs towards you. Doesn't sound that bad, no? Well, this move has six different followup moves: evasive actions, high attacks, low attacks, air attacks, and throws. Given that they all start with that running animation, you might be realizing the big picture about now.
* CoolMask[=/=]MaskedLuchador
* CordonBleughChef: The opinions on his cooking are mixed throughout the series, but his ending is another story: [[spoiler: He mixes Chanko stew and Borscht, Honda and Zangief's favorite national foods, trying to quell the argument between them as to whose dish is better. One bite and they're both {{blue|WithShock}} in the face.]]
* {{Fanboy}}: Of [[VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha Rainbow Mika]].
* FragileSpeedster: A first for the series, as nearly all wrestling-themed characters are of the MightyGlacier type.
* ForgottenChildhoodFriend: He only remembered his childhood friendship with T. Hawk after an insult-sparked brawl.
* FryingPanOfDoom: Averted. He's shown wielding one in his fight intro, but he doesn't use it in battle.
* GratuitousEnglish: In Japanese, he randomly shouts out English, despite being Mexican.
** Makes sense, considering who his [[Creator/DaisukeOno seiyuu is.]]
** GratuitousSpanish: In T. Hawk's rival match with him, El Fuerte drops an audible "amigo" in his opening line. El Fuerte's English VA, J.B. Blanc, adds a few more Spanish words to his dialogue. He even refers to Zangief (during their rival fight) by using the Spanish translation of Zangief's own RedBaron moniker: "Tornado Rojo."
* IncomingHam: See catchphrase, and his intro cinematic '''BigOMG''' -- over meal preparation.
* JokeCharacter: In-universe. He's a {{lethal chef}} with no concept of good cooking (and that is sadly what drives his motivation to fight).
** LethalJokeCharacter: On the "joke" side, he's got ludicrous premises, hammy voice actors, comical-looking attacks with silly food-themed names — it's difficult to take him seriously. On the lethal side, he's got a level of mobility second only to Vega, an unpredictable array of attacks, rapid aerial defense, and high comboability. In the right hands, he's got quite a lot going for him.
* LethalChef: Figuratively and literally. [[spoiler:Chanko Stew + Borscht + a pinch of Chili Pepper = [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin The taste that will send you straight to heaven]]]].
** [[spoiler: His ending in ''SSFIV'' has his cooking assistants flat out asking if he really knows what the heck he's doing.]]
** Subverted slightly, as he is very good at making Mexican dishes, but is played straight when he tries to cook anything else.
* LoonyFan: Of R. Mika. In the UDON comics, when T. Hawk says R. Mika looks ridiculous, El Fuerte feels he has no choice but to start a fight over it.
* MaskedLuchador
* MeaningfulName: "El Fuerte" is Spanish for "the Strong."
* RedBaron: "The Hurricane of the Gulf of Mexico."
* ShoutOut: The El Fuerte Ultra Spark. The finishing hold looks very much like the [[{{Kinnikuman}} Muscle Spark]].
* ThemeNaming: His attacks are named after Mexican food.

->'''Candy voiced by:''' ? (''Street Fighter IV''; Japanese), LauraBailey (''Street Fighter IV''; English)

->A morbidly obese man who wants to fight Ken to prove that he is the number one fighter in the USA.

* {{Acrofatic}}: It says something that Rufus has one of the highest jump arcs in the game. In addition, he is capable of cartwheels, pirouettes and RapidFireFisticuffs.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: "You just can't compare!"
* BigEater
* BigFun
* BrilliantButLazy: Several characters comment on how surprisingly strong Rufus is, and fathom how powerful he could be if he just lost weight.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Some of his rants are really random, to say the least.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass
* {{Eagleland}}: Loud, obnoxious, dumb, clinically obese, obsessed with sci-fi? Type 2 all the way.
* FatIdiot
* GirlishPigtails: In his alternate costume, whereas his normal outfit displays a ''single'' one.
* {{Gonk}}
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Subverted. At first glance, it looks like Rufus came up with his elaborate fighting techniques simply by ''watching kung-fu movies and eating like a pig''. However, it's revealed that in order to refine his [[PunnyName Kung Food]], Rufus took on correspondence courses and later went to China to study under various masters.
* HotBlooded
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Him and his girlfriend Candy.
* IKnowMortalKombat: The crux of his fighting style, as it is wholly based on things that he gleaned from watching martial arts flicks in his youth. Gets some credit because he traveled the world in order to sort out the reality from the fiction.
* JigglePhysics
* LampshadeHanging: Some of his quotes has him do this to certain characters, such as Chun-Li's hips or asking Seth what it's like being a robot.
* LargeHam
* LethalJokeCharacter: He's considered one of the best characters in the game, and in ''[[UpdatedRerelease Super]] Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (Version 2012)'', Rufus is (still) [[CharacterTiers a top pick]] [[http://www.eventhubs.com/tiers/sf4/ for tournaments.]]
* LightningBruiser: He seems to be quite similar to ''VideoGame/{{Tekken}} 6'''s Bob as [[{{Acrofatic}} an incredibly agile fat guy]]. Hilariously, Bob is his rival in StreetFighterXTekken.
* MoreThanMeetsTheEye
* MotorMouth
* TheMunchausen: Rants a lot in his winning quotes.
* OhCrap: He says this upon being KO'd.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: His Snake Strike.
* RescueRomance: How Candy became his girl, as implied in his exchange with Rose:
-->'''Rufus''': ''"I'll never forget when I first met my girl. It was a rainy day in October and I was on my way home from a fight. Suddenly, this chick came outta an' was all like 'Help!' I guess she pulled a dine an' dash, so I beat up the waiter that was chasin' after her!"''
* SeinfeldianConversation: Many a player has read his win quotes (yes, it is possible) and thought, "What the heck is he talking about?" [[http://streetfighter.wikia.com/index.php?title=Rufus&oldid=22382#Rufus_Winning_Quotes Check them.]]
** Averted in ''SSFIV''. He actually does stay on topic better, even if he goes off from time to time.
* ShownTheirWork: An in-universe example. Rufus watches a lot of movies, and when he wanted to become a fighter, he traveled around the world to confirm which techniques in movies can or cannot be performed, in the process becoming a formidable fighter that is very, ''very'' easy to underestimate.
* SpinAttack: His Galactic Tornado.
** Messiah Kick begins with a series of mid-air spins. More visible in the EX version where his spinning actually causes hits.
** His second Ultra from ''SSFIV'', Big Bang Tornado, is also this, mixed with [[RapidFireFisticuffs Snake Strike]] and brought UpToEleven.
* StoutStrength
* [[UglyGuyHotWife Ugly Guy, Hot Girlfriend]]: Rufus' girlfriend is a hot little number named Candy who thinks he's super awesome. Doubles as a HugeGuyTinyGirl couple.
* UnknownRival: Inverse example. He counts himself as Ken's rival, but doesn't know who Ken actually is, and mistakes every blond character for him. Then played straight, as Ken has no knowledge of his existence prior to their match.
** He mistakes ''Cammy'' for Ken, because of ''her'' hair color. Even besides the no pants, different appearance, and ''being female'' thing, you'd think he'd keep both hair color and length in mind.
** He mistakes ''Makoto'' for Ken, because she uses a gi and goes barefoot. Try and top that.
** This even goes beyond universe - in one of the trailers for ''VideoGame/StreetFighterXTekken'', he mistakes Bob for Ken, because he is blonde and wears red. It gets even more amusing when he goes flying past Ken himself later on in the trailer.
* UnreliableVoiceOver: He narrates his long road to becoming such a formidable fighter in the UDON comics... except when he talks about his tireless effort we see him watching TV late at night and eating like a pig. Though it's subverted when we're shown him jogging with two motorcycles strapped to his back.
* WouldHurtAChild: Though he's not too fond of doing so.
--> '''Rufus''': ''"I don't get my jollies beatin' up on schoolkids, alright? This is a tournament an' I was just followin' the rules is all."''
* XMeetsY: Looks like [[VideoGame/SaturdayNightSlamMasters Alexander The Grater]] in [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Lien Neville]]'s leotard.

[[quoteright:100:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/japan_4602.png]]

-->''"No illusion is safe when bathed in the pure light of the moon. Now is the time to test your strength!"''

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/ToruOkawa (''Street Fighter IV''; Japanese), Rod Clarke (''Street Fighter IV''; English)

->Gouken is the master of Ryu and Ken and Akuma's older brother; he trained with Akuma under Goutetsu until Akuma killed their master in a DuelToTheDeath. Gouken refined the special techniques from the assassination art taught to him by Master Goutetsu into a non-lethal martial art, then passed on his knowledge to Ryu and Ken. He was believed to be dead, but he managed to survive his battle with Akuma by using the Power of Nothingness -- which empties the mind and soul of all thought and sin -- to render the Shun Goku Satsu useless. As a side effect, however, [[ConvenientComa he was rendered unconscious for several years]]. Gouken now hopes to reunite with his pupils and test their strength.

* ActorAllusion: Ookawa voiced Ryu back in ''3rd Strike''. In ''IV'', Gouken has access to the Shin Shoryuken and Denjin Hadouken as Ultras, both of which were previously used by Ryu as Super Arts in ''III''.
* AscendedFanon: He exists ''entirely'' because of fans clamoring for years for Capcom to make a real "Sheng Long."
* AscendedMeme[=/=]{{Defictionalization}}: From the [[UrbanLegendOfZelda infamous]] EGM "Sheng Long" April Fools' joke. He even has all of the moves (in one way or another) that the joke detailed!
** One of his win quotes:
--> ''"You must defeat me to stand a chance!"''
* BadassBeard
* BadassGrandpa: Never mind that he's the sagacious old man who taught Ryu and Ken how to fight, he canonically defeated Akuma prior to the first game (although Akuma would seemingly pay him back in a second duel, one which ended with the infamous Shun Goku Satsu). And when he comes back to settle the score, he manages to momentarily one-up his brother again by ''[[NoSell shrugging off the SGS]]''.
* BonusBoss
* CainAndAbel: The Abel to Akuma's Cain.
* CanonImmigrant: First appeared in a ''Street Fighter II'' manga before appearing in Akuma's ending the first ''Alpha'' and as a hidden challenger in ''IV''. Before that, Ryu and Ken's master was just a nameless unseen character.
* ConvenientComa: One that lasted ''years''.
* CoolOldGuy
* CounterAttack: His Kongoshin ("Diamond Body") will stop any non-armor breaking attack (in the right direction), then he simply stomps and sends his opponent flying across the screen. "It's no use!" indeed.
* [[spoiler: DeadAllAlong: In the Japanese dialogue in SSFIV, it's heavily implied that Gouken did die shortly after Akuma attacked him, and that his appearance in the game is actually his spirit. Traces of this were removed from the translations however.]]
* DefeatMeansPlayable: In ''Street Fighter IV''. Starts as playable in ''SSFIV''.
* DeusExMachina: The Power of Nothingness (or Mu no Ken in Japanese), a technique ''never spoken of'' before ''IV'', is the reason behind Gouken's survival of the Shun Goku Satsu and subsequent coma, as well as how he [[spoiler:purges Ryu of the Satsui no Hadou.]] [[WildMassGuessing Perhaps Gouken was]] HoldingBackThePhlebotinum.
** [[WildMassGuessing Either that, or it's the exact same power Gen used to render the SGS null back when he fought Akuma.]]
* [[EvilCounterpart Good Counterpart]]: To Akuma.
* HurricaneKick: A particularly awesome rising variation called the ''Tatsumaki Gorasen''.
* KamehameHadoken: Has a chargeable, angle-able variant.
* MeaningfulName: Gouken (豪拳) means "strong fist."
* NiceHat: A huge-ass one in one of his alternate costumes.
* NotQuiteDead: This seems to be the explanation for him appearing in ''IV''.
* TheObiWan: He has been this to Ryu and Ken, until ''Street Fighter IV''...
* OldMaster
* ParentalSubstitute: To Ryu, [[HappilyAdopted his adopted son]]. He's also something of a second father to Ken.
* TheRival: Ryu and Akuma.
* ShirtlessScene: He has a shirtless alternate outfit.
* {{Shoryuken}}: Although he only uses it as a super.
* StrokeTheBeard: In his opening and victory animations.
* TrueFinalBoss: His role so far in the two ''SFIV'' games released so far.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Earlier sources during both ''II'' and ''Alpha'' mentioned the existence of a daughter ([[NoNameGiven nicknamed "Ojou-san"]]) who witnessed Gouken's death at the hands of Akuma, [[HopelessSuitor was hopelessly smitten with Ryu]], and [[ItWasAGift provided him with]] [[MartialArtsHeadband the white headband]] he wore until ''II''.
* XRaySparks: His [[ShockAndAwe Denjin Hadouken]] in ''Super IV'' has this effect. Note that Ryu could use the exact same technique in ''3rd Strike'', and had the same electrifying effect on the opponent.

[[quoteright:236:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seth_1307.jpg]]
-->''"Do not grieve. Your data will reside in me for eternity."''

->'''Voiced by:''' AkioOhtsuka (''Street Fighter IV'', ''VideoGame/ProjectXZone''; Japanese), Creator/MichaelMcConnohie (''Street Fighter IV''; English'')

->Seth is the CEO of S.I.N, the (former) weapons division of Shadaloo. Seth modified his own body to include a S.I.N invention known as the Tanden Engine; the device is used to help Seth assimilate the abilities of anyone he fights. Seth also created the BLECE Project, which relies on {{ki|Attacks}} to create super-soldiers (in this case, the Ki Seth uses is the ''Satsui no Hadou''); he sees Ryu as the "ultimate test subject" and desires his untapped Satsui no Hadou to complete the BLECE project. Seth has another goal in mind, as well: surpassing his creator, M. Bison, before destroying him once and for all.

* AGodAmI: "Before long, a new age will dawn upon the earth and I shall rule over all!"
* AllYourPowersCombined: After you beat him once in Arcade mode, he gains every special attack from all eight of the original ''VideoGame/StreetFighterII'' characters.
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation
* BaldOfEvil
* BigBad
* BlackEyesOfEvil
* BlowYouAway: His second Ultra Combo, the Tanden Typhoon, he bends over, bridges out, and blasts a tornado out and up from his Tanden Engine.
* TheChessmaster
* CloningBlues:
** [[spoiler:YouAreNumberSix: He's number 15 in his line of clones. The Seth clone that he fights at the end of Arcade Mode is number 21.]]
* DefeatMeansPlayable: In the original ''SFIV'', Seth can be selected after he has been defeated at least once by every character.
* DifficultButAwesome: Thanks to his AllYourPowersCombined gimmick, a Seth player has the right tool for every conceivable job, and his specials are flashy enough that you get to look good whilst doing it. The downside is that your health is very low, meaning that any mistakes will cost you greatly, and your similarly low damage output means that you can't just hope for a quick end to the match before you have a chance to make those mistakes. A poor Seth player is dead in seconds, whilst a good one surgically dismantles their foes without giving them the slightest chance to hurt him.
* DittoFighter
* EvilIsHammy: His speech about humanity in his opening prologue in ''Super Street Fighter IV'' is a big indicator. The hamminess is virtually overflowing.
* EvilutionaryBiologist
* ForScience: His motivation. As well as potentially ruling the world, naturally.
* FullFrontalAssault: In his default and second alternate costume. Subverted in his first alternate costume, where Seth dons pants.
* GambitPileup: Believes himself to be pulling the strings behind Shadaloo, when it could also work the other way around. Then, there's also the fact that unbeknown to him [[spoiler:Juri is using his tournament as a cover for her own takeover of S.I.N.]]
** Then there's the fact that [[spoiler:Bison knew exactly what he was trying to do, and was using Seth to further his own as-of-now unknown goals]].
* GenreSavvy: He [[MetaGuy gets pretty meta]] about media and its influence on people in Fei Long's ''SFIV'' ending. Fei Long isn't exactly convinced, though.
* LargeHam
* MadeOfIron: His boss incarnation.
* MadeOfPlasticine: He takes the most damage out of all the characters when used by a regular player, comparable to Shin Akuma and Ultimate [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Rugal]] in ''[[VideoGame/CapcomVsSNK2MarkOfTheMillennium Capcom vs. SNK 2]]''.
* NietzscheWannabe: [[AboveGoodAndEvil "Evil?]] [[IfJesusThenAliens Like the concept of gods,]] [[StrawAtheist this is a meaningless human construct."]]
* PartsUnknown: Like all of the {{Final Boss}}es in the series (Gill, Bison and he) and ''unlike'' all of the other world warriors, his country of origin is never specified.
* PerfectPlayAI
* PowerArmor: One of his alternate costumes, quite reminiscent of a SteamPunk-ish suit of armor.
* RubberMan: He can stretch his arms like Dhalsim.
* SNKBoss: At first he seems pretty simplistic, but after you beat him in Round 1, he suddenly gets up and says "ILetYouWin". Cue a ore powerful and ominous remix of the song from Round 1, and watch as his AI suddenly jumps from Normal to Hardest in the blink of an eye. He starts breaking out teleports, combos, and other things that he doesn't use in the first round. [[TheDevTeamThinksOfEverything And if you try playing on 1 round, you'll end up fighting the 2nd round version of Seth.]]
* TeleportSpam
* TheComputerIsACheatingBastard: As a FinalBoss [[AdaptationalBadass Seth's Ultra Combos deal more damage than they do when used by the player.]]
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: When Bison "died", he saw this as his chance to usurp him as ruler of the world.
* TurnsRed: The first round against him may be easy for some. Then crap gets real.
* UnwittingPawn: There're many hints that he's this to Bison. In Bison's ending in ''IV'' he [[ReasonYouSuckSpeech makes an effort to beat that point into him.]]
* WalkingShirtlessScene

!!Debuting in ''Super Street Fighter IV''

[[folder:Juri - ''South Korea'']]

[[quoteright:233:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/juri1_1928.jpg]]
--> ''"Hmm... You look like you're in good shape..."''

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/EriKitamura (''Super Street Fighter IV'', ''Street Fighter X Tekken'', ''Project X Zone''; Japanese), Creator/JessicaStraus (''Super Street Fighter IV'', ''Street Fighter X Tekken''; English)

-> Her full name is Juri Han, and her codename is "Spider"; she is a Taekwondo prodigy from South Korea who serves as an agent of S.I.N. She is testing out one of S.I.N's most advanced pieces of technology: a cybernetic eye implant known as the Feng Shui Engine. The implant, which a smaller version of Seth's Tanden Engine, takes ki energy from the surrounding nature and feeds it to the Engine's user to heighten their abilities and make them more powerful. Juri pledges loyalty to Seth in exchange for the "new toy", then enters the new Street Fighter tournament to test her new abilities... and further her own dark agendas. Juri is a dangerous, hedonistic sociopath who likes to taunt her opponents -- and she doesn't care about anything but satisfying her dangerous whims.

* ADayInTheLimelight: Her OVA.
* AffirmativeActionGirl: Part of the reason she was created was to fill two voids: a female villain and a Korean character. In her ethnicity's case, she is Capcom's first Korean character ''ever''.
* AmazonianBeauty: Chun-Li = legs; Juri = abs and arms.
* AnimalMotifs: Insects, especially spiders and butterflies.
* AnimeHair: She sports ''hair-horns''.
* ArachnidAppearanceAndAttire
* ArchEnemy: To Cammy and Chun-Li. The former more so than the latter. They even have Rival Battles against each other.
* AxCrazy: '''Oh yes.''' Being a DepravedBisexual with unabashed sadism, Juri is basically an untamed animal when left to her own devices.
* {{Badass}}: Yes, the girl needs to be locked in a rubber room and pumped with enough drugs to tranqulize a tiger, but given that she managed to defeat Chun-Li, Guile, ''and'' Cammy in straight-up fights during her OVA, she's undeniably a badass.
** EmpoweredBadassNormal: Her powers come from the Feng Shui engine in her eye, but even without it, her Taekwondo skills make her a deadly force to be reckoned with.
* BareYourMidriff
* BiTheWay
* BigNo: In her Game Over animation.
** Seeing how she covers her eye, it looks more like a SkywardScream of agony.
* BloodKnight
* [[CardCarryingVillain Card Carrying Villainess]]: She ''knows'' she's evil and relishes every second of it.
* CastingAShadow
* CatGirl: The buns in her hair and the sash on her waist gives her the appearance of one. Not to mention her amazing flexibility.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Compare her win quotes in ''Street Fighter X Tekken'' to some of her equivalents in ''SSFIV'' and she seems to have got more into her role as the series first villainess. A good example is against Blanka:
-->"''I like to think I fight like a beast as well, but you're too wild for my taste.''" (''Super Street Fighter IV'')
--> "''Your voice is like nails on a chalkboard, but not nearly as pleasant. I’ll tear out your throat and silence you forever!''" (''Street Fighter X Tekken'')
* CharacterTics: Her tendency to lick her lips.
* [[spoiler:ChronicBackstabbingDisorder]]: First in her ending of ''Super Street Fighter IV'' to [[spoiler:her boss, Seth]], then again in the non-canon ''Street Fighter X Tekken'' to [[spoiler:her partner, M. Bison]]. Come on, do we need spoiler tags if it's ''[[Main/ReliableTraitor blindingly obvious?]]''
** Notably, in ''Street Fighter X Tekken'', Bison says [[spoiler:he knew she was going to backstab him right from the start.]]
** It happens again in ''VideoGame/ProjectXZone'' where Juri is paired with Seth, [[spoiler:Guess who pulls a HeelFaceTurn?]] Although this is more a case of [[spoiler: YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness leading to a MistreatmentInducedBetrayal]].
* CombatSadomasochist
* CombatStilettos: In her [[http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100911161623/streetfighter/images/b/b1/Juri.jpg alternate costume]].
* ContinuityNod: Her Shikusen special can be linked for 3 hits; [[VideoGame/StreetFighterIII the second hit is called "Second Impact" and the third is named "Third Strike."]]
* {{Cyborg}}: Thanks to the bionic eye and all.
* DarkActionGirl: The most straight-up example here.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Juri's father was a fearsome prosecutor who relentlessly pursued people connected to Shadaloo to bring them to justice. He became Shadaloo's target and one day Juri's family car was sabotaged. Her father and mother died and she was severely injured, losing her left eye.
* DeadpanSnarker
* DepravedBisexual: Her opponent's gender makes no difference to her as long as she gets to torture them.
* DisabilitySuperpower[=/=][[ArtificialLimbs Artificial Eye]]: Seen below.
* DoesNotLikeShoes: Subverted with her alternate costume, where she dons CombatStilettos, otherwise she's either completely barefoot or wearing Taekwondo straps.
* DoubleEntendre: Practically 90% of her dialouge is this. She can't seem to end a sentence without making some kind of sexual innuendo.
* TheDragon: For Seth.
** [[spoiler:DragonWithAnAgenda]]
* DragonLady
* EnergyBall: Like many characters in the series, Juri is able to throw projectiles. Unlike any characters in the series, she throws them with her ''feet''.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: After recieving the Feng Shui Engine in her OVA, the first words she says tell you all you need to know about her.
-->'''Juri:''' So... let's go kill something.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: In her OVA, Juri seems to hesitate when her only remaining possible victim (before Chun-Li rushes onto the scene) [[WouldntHurtAChild is a young child]] crying over his dead mother whose casualty was an unintended outcome of Juri's Feng Shui Engine [[StuffBlowingUp test run]]. This likely stems back to Juri's own tragic backstory.
* EvilCounterpart: She appears to be one to both Chun-Li and Cammy.
* EvilTastesGood: Licking her lips is practically her CatchPhrase. It's also the sign she's going to beat you within an inch of your life.
* ExtremityExtremist: Averted. She, despite being a Taekwondo practictioner, uses punches. However, she's still a KickChick, more or less.
** She only has medium and light punches. Her hard "punches" are ''kick'' attacks.
* EyepatchOfPower: Wears one temporarily in the ''SSFIV'' [=OVA=], after [[spoiler:her left eye malfunctions as she's about to kill Chun-Li]].
* FauxAffablyEvil: Makes no excuses for who she is and her crazy behavior.
* ForTheEvulz: She joined S.I.N. for fun.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: [[spoiler: Despite abandoning Seth and joining up with the gang in Ch 26 of ''VideoGame/ProjectXZone'', the rest of the cast can't do anything more than tolerate her. Justified in that A), despite being on their side she's still a violent {{Jerkass}} and B), the gang is fully aware that she could turn on them as easily as she turned on Seth. As Heihachi puts it]]
-->'''Heihachi''': [[spoiler: I eagerly await her sudden but inevitable betrayal.]]
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: She's practically the virtual ''embodiment'' of this trope for the series.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: When her left eye's glowing, that's a ''dangerous'' sign.
* GoneHorriblyRight: Seth plans on offing her if she becomes too successful.
* HannibalLecture: Delivers one to Cammy, evoking NotSoDifferent and calling her out for thinking that her brainwashing will allow her to avoid responsibilities for her actions as an agent of Shadaloo. Cammy doesn't give a ShutUpHannibal, but there ''is'' a pretty fierce DeathGlare directed at Juri.
** InsaneTrollLogic: In addition to ignoring the fact being someone's mind-puppet is pretty much the most blame absolving excuse there is, she conveniently ignores the fact that [[TheAtoner Cammy's been fighting Shadaloo partially to make up for her past]] (the other reasons being it's her job and the right thing to do) where Juri does and serves evil because [[ForTheEvulz it's her idea of a good time]].
* TheHedonist: She outright says that as long as she's having fun, she's happy. To bad her idea of "fun" involves people getting involves people getting hurt.
* HornedHairdo
* {{Hypocrite}}: Calls out Cammy for her "sins" despite doing nothing but evil deeds herself.
* InterplayOfSexAndViolence
* {{Jerkass}}
* KickChick: Probably even moreso than Chun-Li, to the point that her "heavy punch" is in fact a kick.
* LaughingMad: Whenever she's beating the stuffing out of someone.
* LeanAndMean
* {{Magitek}}: More like "Kitek", but, hey, technicalities.
* [[spoiler:MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: In ''VideoGame/ProjectXZone'', she decides to abandon Seth for the heroes after he declares YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness.]]
* MsFanservice: Possibly the biggest one in the series, not helped by her revealing costumes and seductive personality.
* ObviouslyEvil: At '''no point''' can this girl pass for a good guy with her violent sadism. This is most evident (and constantly lampshaded) in ''VideoGame/ProjectXZone'' where ''everyone'' knows she's evil. [[spoiler: Even when she joins up with the heroes in Ch. 26, the rest of the cast knows better than to trust her.]]
* OrgasmicCombat
* ParentalAbandonment: Thanks to Shadaloo.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Want proof? Look at her OVA. She manages to ''completely destroy'' an amusement park and kill everyone in there save for ''one'' person using the Feng Shui Engine. Keep in mind that she was using a ''prototype'' at the time.
* PhotographicMemory: Claims to have this.
* PowerHigh: After gaining Ki-based powers from the Feng-Shui Engine she proclaims, "Mmm... I like it. I can feel waves of ki energy surging through my whole body," in a very suggestive way.
* PsychoticSmirk: Her default expression.
** SlasherSmile: Upgrades into this if she's particularly enjoying torturing someone.
* PurpleEyes
* PurpleIsPowerful
* PutTheLaughterInSlaughter
* RedBaron: Her S.I.N. CodeName is Spider.
* {{Sadist}}: She ''really'' gets off on hurting others.
* SexyBacklessOutfit: Doesn't help that the straps of her shirt look more like a tattoo than clothing material.
* SexyWalk
* TheSociopath: Simply put, Juri does what Juri wants. And if people get hurt, she's cool with it.
** [[spoiler:SociopathicHero: Becomes one in ''VideoGame/ProjectXZone'' after turning on Seth. She only joined up with the heroes because the alternative was being beaten up along with Seth.]]
* StrawNihilist: This exchange between her and Chun-Li in the OVA.
-->'''Chun-Li:''' All the innocent lives you destroyed!
-->'''Juri:''' Give me a break, sweetheart. There's no such thing as innocent. It must suck to be so stupid.
* {{Stripperiffic}}
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With Bison in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterXTekken''. While they're both after Pandora, they both hate each other and knows the other will betray them. [[spoiler: And indeed, Juri immeidately turns on Bison once they obtain Pandora]].
** And it happens again in ''VideoGame/ProjectXZone'' where [[spoiler:she joins up with the heroes in Ch 26 after Seth declares her useless. Despite joining up with them, the cast can't do anything more than tolerate her and knows full well she could easily turn on them. Nicely reinforced by the pre-battle dialouge between her and Juri.]]
-->'''Juri:''' [[spoiler:Why the hell am I stuck working with you two?!]]
-->'''Chun-Li:''' [[spoiler:We can't trust you so we have to keep you under observation.]]
* ThisCannotBe: In Japanese, she says "Sonna bakana!" when K.O.'ed. Translated, it'd be along the lines of "I can't believe it!"
** In English, however, it's "[[WeWillMeetAgain I'll have my revenge!]]" If you K.O. with a light punch, light kick or Focus Attack so that she K.O.s in a crumple state though, she still says "I can't believe this..."
* [[spoiler:TokenEvilTeammate: Becomes one to the gang in ''VideoGame/ProjectXZone''.]]
* TooKinkyToTorture
* [[spoiler:TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: In her ending, she used Seth's tournament as a distraction while she plotted to take over S.I.N.]]
** [[spoiler:But the reverse happens in Seth's ending, as she decided to follow him because of the fun she's having.]]
** [[spoiler:Happens again in ''VideoGame/ProjectXZone'' after Seth decides she's useless to him.]]
* VaporWear
* WholeCostumeReference: Jolyne Cujoh from ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure''
* WorthyOpponent: Has shades of this with Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Oni as their the only fighters in the game that she does not have resounding contempt for.

[[folder:Hakan - ''Turkey'']]
[[quoteright:100:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/turkishflag_2894.png]]
[[quoteright:233:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hakan_3734.jpg]]
-->''"Looks like it's time to oil up!"''

->'''Voiced by:''' Shintarou Oohata (''Super Street Fighter IV''; Japanese), Lance Holt (''Super Street Fighter IV''; English)

-> The other new character introduced in ''Super Street Fighter IV'' line-up. He is stated to be the Turkish CEO of a cooking oil company, and a practitioner of the national sport of Yagli Gures otherwise known as oil-wrestling. His in-game self reflects this with lots of oiled-up grappling and even a move that has him apply ''more'' oil to his body, powering up his moves for a short time and making him faster.

* AbsurdlyYouthfulMother: His wife. She has a fairly petite build, despite having given birth to seven daughters.
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: Tomato red skin, sky blue hair(?).
** There's an explanation for that: Hakan stays oiled up all the time. Turkey is a sunny place. What does Oil + Sunhine create? At first, a tan. But Hakan did go beyond that. Ken even notes that he "looks a little crisp." The hair is probably blue because he uses oil for that, too and they didn't want to give him black hair.
** In reference to his hair--the appearance of Hakan's hair is a pun, as he is Turkish and the Japanese word for Turkey is "Toruko", his hair resembles stone and the Japanese word for stone is "Ishi", and his hair color is turquoise and the Japanese word for turquoise is "Toruko Ishi". This holds true for European languages as well: the English word turquoise comes from the Old French turqueise which literally means "Turkish [stone]".
* AnimalMotifs: Both his beltbuckle and the barrel that he uses to "oil up" seems to share the same leonine theme.
* AnimeHair: His hair is curled into very short ringlets that look like giant barnacles. In one of his taunts, he expresses concern that his opponent will mess it up. [[http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/8981/13457476.jpg His daughters]] appear to have inherited this style, or at least style it like their father.
* BadassMustache
* BearHug: One of his special grabs. (However, because he is slippery, the opponent flies off instead of getting crushed.)
* BoisterousBruiser: Very much so.
* CatchPhrase: "[[PreAsskickingOneLiner Looks like it's time to oil up!]]"
* CheshireCatGrin: In his versus silhouette.
* ChivalrousPervert: Seems so. While he loves and cares for his wife and daughters, he's rather pleasant to the major part of the {{Action Girl}}s in the cast (barring Viper and Juri), if his post-battle lines are signs.
* CulturedBadass: In his own Turkish cultured way, he's pretty refined as well.
* DotingParent: Implied in his first line in his character trailer.
** Confirmed in his ending, when the seven little girls come greet him and Hakan is quite happy to see them.
* EverybodyKnewAlready: Despite Capcom's best efforts to keep him under wraps before his planned debut, he was mentioned as far back as September '09 when details of the game first emerged.
* ExpectingSomeoneTaller: C. Viper almost says this word-for-word.
* FashionableAsymmetry
* FriendToAllChildren
* GentleGiant
* HappilyMarried: And he's got the multitude of daughters to prove it!
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Him and his as yet unnamed wife.
* IHaveAFamily: A wife and septuplet daughters, to be specific.
* LightningBruiser: He's a giant of a man, and yet all that oil means he moves across the screen like (literally) greased lightning.
* MonochromaticEyes
* MurderousThighs
* NiceHat: In one of his alternate costumes, he wears a classic turkish Fez.
* PreAsskickingOneLiner: "Looks like it's time to oil up!"
* RememberTheNewGuy: Hakan and E. Honda are old friends, to the point where the former casually calls the later "Edmond". ''SSFIV'' marks Hakan's ''debut'' in the ''Street Fighter'' continuity. Also both of their fighting styles are similar.
* SlipperySkid: His oiled-up body allows him slide along the floor into opponents.
* [[TheIdiotFromOsaka The Idiot from Ankara]]: He speaks in Kansai-ben in the Japanese version, despite being Turkish. In the English version, he speaks with a thick Turkish accent instead.
* ThereAreNoGoodExecutives: Averted.
* ThemeNaming: Hakan's every single Special, Super or Ultra move has the word "oil" in it. [[SarcasmMode No idea why.]]
* UglyGuyHotWife: His [[http://iplaywinner.com/storage/ssf4-images/hakan_fix.png official art,]] in addition to showing his seven daughters, has a pretty woman in the background that is his wife.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: A rather odd case. Most characters in ''Street Fighter'' who are clearly human in appearance run the entire gamut of naturally occurring hair colors. Hakan's is ''turquoise'' colored, probably as a result of oils. But when you look at his seven kids, it ''could'' be hereditary.

!!Debuting in ''Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition''

[[folder:Oni - ''???'']]
[[quoteright:261:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/07_oniartwork_9263.jpg]]
--> ''"I shall grind beneath my heel... all that exists."''

->'''Voiced by:''' Taketora (''Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition''; Japanese), Creator/DaveMallow (''Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition''; English)

-> His full title is Kuruoshiki Oni ("Mad Demon"). This is the form Akuma takes when he reaches the absolute peak of his training; all of Akuma's remaining humanity is consumed in full by the ''[[KillingIntent Satsui no Hadou]]'' and he becomes a demon, although Oni views himself as transcending gods. Now that he has reached the peak of the ''Satsui no Hadou'', he decides to destroy the world... possibly out of boredom.

* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation
* BattleAura: Oni has a purple one, to be exact.
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind[=/=]EnemyWithin[=/=]EnemyWithout[=/=]YourMindMakesItReal: Akuma and Oni's quote for one another confirm that Oni plays this role to Akuma, as Oni represents the one thing Akuma ''doesn't'' want to become (luckily, as canon dictates, Akuma being consumed by the Satsui no Hadou will most likely never come to pass, if ''III'' is any indication).
* BeatingADeadPlayer: The only character in ''IV'' to directly interact with the opponent during their win screen pose, Oni grabs his defeated challenger by the head/neck and ''slams them face-first into the screen, presumably killing them.'' That last part happens just off-screen, of course.
* BonusBoss: Oni appears as a secret boss by completing Arcade Mode under certain conditions, namely not losing a round, getting two Perfects, five Super or Ultra combo finishes, ten first attacks, and defeating Seth with a Super or Ultra combo.
** TrueFinalBoss: Oni falls into this, considering he's stronger than Akuma, Gouken, and Evil Ryu ''combined''.
*** Evil Ryu and Oni appear to be rivals of sorts. So it's likely give and take with their power levels. Both are off the charts and by far the most powerful in the cast.
*** SNKBoss: Oni's A.I. is also harder than the aforementioned characters. He has more vitality and stun than the playable version ''and'' his moves are altered (for example, all of his chargeable moves are fully charged when he uses them).
**** Although the bonus boss doesn't get nearly as many complaints as Seth does. Evil Ryu is actually easier to abuse due to his ability to cancel his teleport into anything at any time. Capcom has long made the boss characters different than playable characters (Shin Akuma, Shin Bison, etc). Evil Ryu and Oni are seen to be rivals of sorts and are somewhat comparable in power, Super Saiyan Aura and all.
* CardCarryingVillain: He flat-out says that he's evil in his intro.
* ChargedAttack: His [[EnergyBall Gohadoken]]. The more it's charged, the farther it goes.
* EvilSoundsDeep: His voice is the same as Akuma's, but distorted even more by PowerEchoes. Averted in the English version, where even with the PowerEchoes his voice is surprisingly tenor.
* FlatCharacter: He's evil and... yeah, that's pretty much it.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: Regular Akuma is [[http://www.eventhubs.com/tiers/sf4/ higher on the tier list than Oni is.]]
** Although it could be not entirely a lie. Oni seems to be incapable of fully controlling his power like Akuma. We have also seen that he required a lot of effort to do a task (blow up a volcano) that Akuma would do in a bigger scale without much effort
* GroundPound: This happens at the beginning of his Ultra II and his Sekisei Jiraiken special move.
* KneelBeforeZod: His taunt orders the opponent to do so.
* ObviouslyEvil
* OneWingedAngel[=/=]SuperpoweredEvilSide: Is this to Akuma.
* PowerLimiter: WordOfGod is that the playable version of Oni is being held back by [[SoulFragment remnants of Akuma's will]], and that the TrueFinalBoss‎ version of him, "Shin Oni", is not.
* TheRival: To [[spoiler:[[VideoGame/AsurasWrath Asura]] in [[DownloadableContent Lost]] [[{{Crossover}} Episode 2]], where Akuma apparently somehow learned to control this form and use it at will without losing himself completely.]]
** Given the situation, [[spoiler:the transformation was more of a last resort. Still, it shows that he has some semblance of control this time around.]]
** His rivalry with Ryu carries over from whatever little part of Akuma is left in him. Oni even seems pleased that Ryu's finally given into the Satsui no Hadou if you face him with Evil Ryu. Oni is also intrigued by the power/potential of certain characters and seeks to test them in a WorthyOpponent-like manner; most notably, Oni remarks that if Cody were to stop voluntarily holding himself back by wearing those handcuffs, he'd prove to be quite the challenge.
* SayMyName: His Ultra activation quote in his Rival Battle against Gouken has Oni furiously belting out the name of his nemesis at the top of his lungs. Nothing more would probably suffice.
* SuperMode: During several of his Supers, Oni turns jet black with glowing eyes and hair and VolcanicVeins on his fists and arms.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Oni speaks this way in some of his winquotes.

[[folder: Decapre - ''Russia'']]
[[quoteright:100:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/russia_8183.png]]
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/decapre_2504.jpg]]

-->''"Execute."''

-> '''Voiced by:''' MiyukiSawashiro (Japanese), Creator/CaitlinGlass (English)

->One of Bison's Dolls. While Juri ended up severely crippling the majority of the Dolls, Bison managed to keep at least one of them still active. Decapre's motives are unclear. She works under Bison's direct orders like the rest of the Dolls, and it is hinted that she is searching for Cammy as one of her targets. She also has memories of the scary childhood of growing up as a lab experiment.

* ADeathInTheLimelight: [[spoiler: It is strongly implied that she dies in her ending, as she has already begun to deteriorate. Bison says there is a way to save her, and knowing how often he's cheated death, it wouldn't be out of the question for her to be alive in later games.]]
* AscendedExtra: Her first appearance was in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha3'' during the boss fight introduction against Juli and Juni.
* AxCrazy: We're talking ''Juri'' levels.
* BerserkButton: Cammy's mere existence is one. To where she will attack her on sight. As shown in [[spoiler: Her ending. When Cammy arrives after she's defeated Seth, she goes from calculated assassin to shrieking madwoman as she attempts to kill her.]]
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: She has a retractable blade in each of her gauntlets.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: She's been [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T332vJewe60 heavily conditioned from birth to be an assassin]] and only follow Bison's orders.
* CanonImmigrant: While she did show up in Alpha that was a palette swap to give some level of difference between the dolls. UDON was the one that gave her more of a backstory which Capcom ran with, so technically her character is more from the comics.
* ChargedAttack: The "Hold" variety like most other characters in the series. She seems to be a ChargedAttack version of Cammy.
* CoolMask: Has had two different types of metallic mask amongst her appearances, one which covers her face entirely and one which exposes her mouth and nose.
* CloningBlues: She's a clone of Cammy, but unlike Cammy, is still under Bison's manipulation. If Capcom takes anything from her character in the Udon comics (as they have done for other characters), then she's actually a failed prototype of Cammy.
* ClothesMakeTheManiac: The black mask on her face is certainly sinister looking, but it's unknown if it serves any combat purposes. In the Udon comics, half of her face is horribly burned and scarred.
** The pre-production art that Capcom released shows that she's scarred here as well.
* DeathEqualsRedemption: In her ending, [[spoiler: Decapre's body begins to deteriorate. Bison says she only has moments left, but ''could'' save her if Cammy worked out an agreement. Even though Decapre swore to kill Cammy until the very end, when she sees Cammy standing over her, ready to defend her from Bison, she tries to comfort Cammy by saying the same words that Cammy said to comfort her when they were children, just before blacking out. She seems to have found some sort of peace in her final moments]].
* DramaticUnmask: We get to see what's underneath the mask in her arcade ending. [[spoiler: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T332vJewe60#t=01m21s She's a clone of Cammy, and she's dying]].]]
* EnergyBall: Her Psycho Stream Ultra fires a large slow-moving one.
* FlashStep: Has couple of teleporting moves which is accomplished with this.
* KnifeNut: Uses claws like Vega, except these ones are retractable.
* MovesetClone: Averted, she only retains a couple of special attacks from Cammy, both of which she uses very differently. Her Cannon Drill is not only now a charge move, but it can ony be done in the air (while Cammy can only do hers on the ground). Meanwhile, her Cannon Strike is now a follow up to her new Scramble teleport move (whereas Cammy could do it anytime on jump in).
* RoboSpeak: Due to her being a brainwashed slave of Bison's, much of her dialogue and win quotes are comprised of short, to-the-point words or phrases. More prominent in the Japanese dialogue where she speaks in the quintessential dull monotone.
* ThemeNaming: Decapre is Russian for "December", going along with the names of all the other dolls. However, [[SpellMyNameWithAnS the proper romanization of the Russian word is "Dekabr",]] not "Decapre" (which is likely just a phonetic spelling), and her name should be properly said "dee-KAH-br", ''not'' "de-CAP-ree".
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: As a Cammy clone, she naturally has her German Suplex and Frankensteiner grabs.

-> Poison is an ex-member of the Mad Gear gang, and currently acts as the manager of Hugo Andore. Despite her managerial duties, she herself is a quite a capable fighter. She and Hugo enter the tournament in ''3rd Strike'' to promote their wrestling stable, the Huge Wrestling Army (or H.W.A.).

* EightiesHair: Bright pink, feathered tresses complete with wide, angular bangs. Justified, in that she made her ''FinalFight'' debut in 1989.
* AscendedExtra: She has appeared as a background character in the ''Alpha'' games, as well as in Hugo's winposes and endings, but (ignoring Final Fight Revenge) it wasn't until ''StreetFighterXTekken'' that she finally became a playable character. And now, Poison finally makes her true debut into the main ''Street Fighter'' series proper, as a brand-new character introduced in Ultra Street Fighter 4.
* AttractiveBentGender: Someone actually put together a ''documentary'' about [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Lj-9npanOI&feature=colike Poison's gender.]]
* BareYourMidriff
* BerserkButton: Gossiping about her failing wrestling venture, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8xTnv_MqgA as her own wrestlers find out the hard way.]]

* HeelFaceTurn: No longer affiliated with the Mad Gear gang.
* LowerClassLout
* MsFanservice: She's attractive, she's scantily-clad, [[MaleGaze the camera makes a great deal out of both]], and whilst most characters have movesets based on various real-world martial arts (or some sort of sci-fi/fantasy weirdness), hers is ''dominatrix''-themed.

* SexyWalk: Carried over from ''X Tekken''.
* ShesAManInJapan: Poison is either a "newhalf" hermaphrodite or a post-op transexual, and WordOfGod is that there's no official stance as to which is true.
** Somewhat related, it should be noted that she has 1000 points of health in Ultra, which is generally the well-rounded health amount in Street Fighter. Among some people, this is informally known as "man health" as most females in Capcom fighters have less than that.
** In the same way, her theme in the game is mostly based in discotheque-style music, who is normally associated with the gay movement in the U.S.
* ShesGotLegs
* ShortTank
* ShoutOut: One of her special moves looks like a [[VideoGame/FatalFury Rising Tackle]].
* {{Stripperific}}: She sports a ''miniscule'' pair of denim daisy-dukes, and a tiny T-shirt that barely covers her boobs.

* WhoWearsShortShorts
* UnexpectedCharacter: Averted in this case, as it was widely speculated that it would be incredibly easy to port her and the other ''X Tekken'' newcomers into ''Street Fighter IV''. This is supported by there being quite a lot of desire by the fanbase to have her as a playable character in the first place.
* WhipItGood: Her signature riding crop returns in all its glory.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Her back throw is a frankensteiner, and after Love Me Tender can perform a Poison Rama on the foe to boot.
