!Main Characters
[[folder:In General]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/run_3.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:From left to right: [[FatIdiot Eggman]], [[StraightMan Earthworm Jim]], [[TheLancer Tails]], and [[VillainProtagonist Sonic]]. Not Pictured: [[BurgerFool Knuckles]], [[WildCard Gilius Thunderhead]], [[TokenEvilTeammate Kirby]], [[FanDisservice Mother Brain]], [[MamaBear Soniqua]] & [[CampGay Link]].]]
* AdaptationalJerkass: None of them have the heroic traits of their canon videogame counterparts.
* AmusingInjuries[=/=][[ButtMonkey Butt Monkeys]]: They all suffer through humiliating and painful situations.
* BreakingTheFellowship: The majority of Season 4 has Sonic, Tails, Eggman, and Jim split up. Sonic is back to doing odd jobs due to being broke again, Tails is now rich and famous (and also the ArcVillain of the season), while Eggman and Jim are partying it up in ''VideoGame/{{Contra}}''. They come back together near the end of the season but it’s not until “Joust” where they finally act as a group again.
** In season 7, Eggman and Jim ditch Sonic and Tails' quest to find the creator. Opting instead to party at ''VideoGame/DeadOrAlive'' and eventually opening up their own business there... [[YankTheDogsChain that closes down in the next season]].
* DoomMagnet: No matter where the gang goes, they are likely to stir chaos and mass casualties.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: Whenever they become successful, expect them to eventually lose either through horrific unluck or from their own mental faults.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: The main four are a consistent victim of this to each other depending on the season.
** Sonic tends to gain the ire of his friends due to his {{Jerkass}} tendencies and being unsympathetic to their needs. This is especially relevant in season 6 where they deliberately have a "[[Franchise/BreakingBad Jesse Pinkman]]" styled drug orgy party without Sonic's knowledge because of how fed up they were of him. When Sonic died, the gang collectively felt a ''weight being lift off their shoulders''.
** Starting in season 5, Tails becomes this due to the antics he had caused in the previous season and how he is often the wet blanket who tries to ruin everyone elses fun.
** Eggman was this from the start for being a fat, lecherous, and obnoxious weirdo. Only Jim seems to genuinely like him while Tails and ''especially'' Sonic constantly deride him.
** All throughout season 8, the gang keeps crapping all over Jim due to his percieved uslessness -- despite not doing anything to really incite this reputation.
* LoserProtagonist: '''All of them'''. Sonic is poor, destitute, and is frequently put into humiliating situations. Eggman has suffered a severe case of VillainDecay and has been degraded to a lonely {{Manchild}}. Earthworm Jim is shown to live a banal life and is TheFriendNobodyLikes during season 8. Tails actually starts the series pretty well off, but he too slowly becomes victim to multiple AmusingInjuries and failures.
* VitriolicBestBuds: They can't stand each other, but by Season 5, they can't even bear to not hang out with each other. "Back to Work" firmly establishes that they have hung out with each other so much that their original lives/jobs have become boring.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sonic the Hedgehog]]
[[quoteright:238:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_42.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Michael William

The main character of the show who is always looking for a job but fails almost all of the time. He is really lazy and rude but there are several moments where he does feel like he's accomplished something.
----
* AbusiveParents: Initially wanted to kill Soniqua off. {{Subverted}} when he found out that she helps him out in threatening situations. That being said, he did successfully wipe [[spoiler:his and Lucca's children]] out of existence by replacing himself with Eggman.
* AllMenArePerverts: Very much, considering he can barely be in the presence of a female without wanting to bang them, or asking them to call him later on.
* AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: Sonic's fate. [[spoiler:{{Subverted|Trope}} by the fact that Sonic eventually gets bored and gives up his position]].
* AntiHero: On his better days. True, he can be quite crude to people, but he does have hints of being a decent person, especially towards Soniqua after the events of "Mortal Kombat". And before Tails broke him, he really was sympathetic and sincere about apologizing to Knuckles to give him a second chance at Burger Time.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: Many of his problems stem from his inability to pay attention. For example, his response to being given the keys to a dying bar is to go on a long monologue which results in him concluding that he wants to watch ''Film/{{Tombstone}}''.
* BreadEggsMilkSquick:
-->'''Tails:''' The good news is I might be able to hook you up with a couple jobs to help you get by.
-->'''Sonic:''' Cool, what do we got? New Sonic game? Sonic cartoon? Sonic death metal album? I don't give a shit, I'll do whatever.
* BrokeEpisode: {{Inverted}}; most of the series is about Sonic being broke. [[spoiler:In Season 3, he becomes rich off of mafia money, before [[AFoolAndHisNewMoneyAreSoonParted losing it all]]. He becomes rich again in Season #6 due to time traveling, but gets broke ''again'' once the universe starts collapsing due to the gang messing with the space-time continuum too much, forcing Sonic to reset everything to avoid dying]].
* BrilliantButLazy: A number of times, such as in ''Tapper,'' ''Burger Time,'' ''Atari,'' and ''Star Craft'' Sonic is shown to be actually competent at his job. However, his short attention span and low tolerance for other people mars things.
* ButtMonkey: Things always go bad for him. In the first season alone he is subjected to a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown in VideoGame/PunchOut, wallows in a feces-filled sewage pipe and is denied pay, electrocuted, traumatized by Kirby, burnt alive, and turned into an eggplant.
* CerebusRetcon: Inverted. Most of the series makes Sonic look almost like a borderline murderous sociopath who recklessly murders anyone in his way. Then season 8 firmly establishes that most characters can respawn as long as they died in their game world (meaning that most of the characters Sonic had killed are likely back to life). Supported by the fact that Sparkster, whom Sonic killed in Season 5, reappears in Season 8 alive and well (though he quickly dies ''again'' at the hands of Eggette).
* ChickMagnet: The amount of women that is infatuated with Sonic or has sex with him is ridiculous.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: [[spoiler:By Season 7, Sonic has been a mafia boss, a movie star, went to space, traveled through time, became rich, died, came back to life and done everything he has ever wanted to do. Thus, he drags everybody along to find the Creator, so he can know that there's still some greater purpose for him]].
* DragonAscendant: [[spoiler:After spending the second half of Season 2 working for Mario, he takes over Mario’s mob operations after killing him in the season finale.]]
* TheDitz: Not exactly in the traditional sense but, Sonic isn't what you would call a smart person.
* EveryoneHasStandards: {{Subverted}} in terms of killing; he is disturbed by the murderous tendencies of Kirby and Dig Dug, but this has more to do with EarlyInstallmentWeirdness, seeing as how Sonic has no problem with murdering other people himself in later episodes.
* ExtremeOmnisexual: Sonic switches between this and ReallyGetsAround in the sense that he ''does'' have his limits, but nonetheless has banged a wide variety of characters throughout the series. This ranges from ordinary humans, to the transgender Birdo, to a [[BreadEggsMilkSquick pulsating brain monster]].
* FallenOnHardTimesJob: ''Every'' job he ever got throughout all of Seasons 1, 2, and 4 he's only doing due to going broke, despite once being a major figure in gaming.
* FatalFlaw: His inability to concentrate and lack of tolerance for other people.
* Fiction500: He becomes rich after [[spoiler:going back in time]]. He gets a fancy house, luxury cars, and more! [[RichesToRags Only for a short while though]].
* ForcedTransformation: In Season 1, the Eggplant Wizard turns him into, surprise, an eggplant. Later on, damage of the space-time continuum also turns him into [[spoiler:Wario]].
* HaveIMentionedIAmGay: Often tries to claim that he's gay as an excuse to get out of awkward situations, such as not wanting to go out with Amy or murder innocents with Kirby.
* TheHeroDies: [[spoiler:In Season 6, after getting kidnapped by Mario. [[DeathIsCheap Not that it lasts very long]]]].
* HeroKiller: He's the reason [[spoiler:Mega Man dies at the end]].
* HiddenDepths: He's actually pretty good at boxing, even nearing beating ''Creator/MikeTyson himself!''
* HumiliationConga: Sonic is prone to bad luck and humiliation, but season four has him at his lowest. What with being broke once again, jobless, having no supportive friends, and getting thrown into prison. All the while Tails smugly rubs in Sonic's face his newfound fame and fortune (along with mailing a ''bomb'' to him!). By the second half when things start [[HopeSpot looking up for Sonic]] with his new Hollywood movie, Tails changes the script to further mock, torture, and piss all over him.
** Even Sonic's revenge plot against Tails goes wrong and literally explodes on his face.
* HookersAndBlow: His idea of "happiness" apparently consists of nothing but crack and pornography.
-->'''[[VideoGame/{{Scribblenauts}} Maxwell]]:''' That's pretty depressing man...
-->'''Sonic:''' Yeah I'm a fucking mess.
* HypocriticalHumor: Sonic says he doesn't want to bang Candy Kong saying she's basically "Donkey Kong in a bikini." Much later in Season 7, [[spoiler: Sonic has no problems banging Wreck-It Roxanne who is ''literally'' female Ralph! (especially since Sonic hates his guts)]]
* IdiotHero: While others (usually Tails or Eggman) are on occasion to blame, nearly all of his failed jobs stem from his inability to stay on task or care. He also drinks lead on occasion for no apparent reason.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He loathes sharing the spotlight with anyone, and will kill them on the spot. [[spoiler:Mega Man and "Sonic Mania" Sonic learned this the hard way]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: His low tolerance for other people and drug abuse certainly make him unpleasant to be around. Regardless, he does have a softer side, which he occasionally shows to Tails, Soniqua, and his other friends.
* LaserGuidedKarma: While Sonic is put through quite the wringer in season four, it is pretty much deserved due to all the various crimes/murders he had committed and to how much of a jackass he was to Tails and his other friends.
* MistakenForGay: Mega Man apparently thought him and Tails were dating.
* OnlySaneByComparison: Sonic is a rude, degenerate asshole who is willing to screw other people over for his own benefit. However, whenever he's in the presence of characters like [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Thunderhead]] and [[FatIdiot Eggman]], Sonic tends to be the sane one.
* PetTheDog:
** His treatment of Soniqua is much better than how he treats anyone else. [[InvertedTrope Including the times he tried to kill her, considering he's tried to kill her a lot less than any of his friends]].
** He's shown to be a supporter of gay rights, saying that there's nothing wrong with being gay and murdering Link's homophobic uncle.
* ReallyGetsAround: He's had sex with too many women to count.
* RichesToRags:
** Due to taking some bad stock tip advice from Tails (investing in Dreamcast), and spending all his other money on coke, he goes from being decently wealthy to essentially completely broke.
** Goes from being a mob boss to being right back where he started by the end of Season 3.
* SeenItAll: He's jumped through enough games to not be surprised at most of what he sees.
* TheStoner: Gets high off drugs multiple times throughout the series.
* SuperSpeed: Yeah, no shit. However, he's shown to have problems when it comes down to how far he can run.
-->'''Sonic:''' Ow, crampin' here, ah.
-->'''[[BigBad Mario]]:''' Not as fast you used to be, eh Sonic?
-->'''Sonic:''' Yeah, I was planning to get to the gym on Monday... after you kill me.
* TriggerHappy: A major reason why he kills so many people.
* TooDumbToLive: As a mob boss, the first thing he does is get alcohol poisoning, food poisoning, sun poisoning, and ''lead'' poisoning.
* TookALevelInKindness: Downplayed in that he still remained a jerk, but his attitude was notably improved to a degree in Seasons 6 and 7.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: While admittedly not ''purely'' unsympathetic, since he [[ButtMonkey constantly finds himself being screwed over]], but Sonic's general lack of positive qualities is what makes him so hilarious.
* VillainProtagonist: Kills others for reasons of varying pettiness. [[spoiler:Becomes an extreme example in The finale of Season 4]]. It could also be said that most of the problems in the series are caused by Sonic himself.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Miles "Tails" Prower]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_604.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Mike Parker

Sonic's put-upon sidekick and the show's StraightMan. While clearly smarter than most of his company, his inability to lead situations and his bossiness earns the ire of people around him.
----
* AdaptationalDumbass: He claims to be not much of a tech guy despite his game counterpart being a scientist and mechanic.
* ArcVillain: Becomes this in Season 4 after [[spoiler:blowing up all of Sonic's money, which leads to him being the rich one]].
* TheBet: Regularly bets against himself and his friends since he knows they never win anything.
* ButtMonkey: Beginning in Season 2, but Season 5 is the absolute low point for him. [[spoiler:Unlike all the other seasons, however, [[LaserGuidedKarma Tails actually had it coming]]]].
* CharacterDevelopment: He has really loosened up by Season 8. Becoming much more lax towards the gang's antics and even indulges in Sonic's immature behavior.
* DeadpanSnarker: In response to Sonic's shenanigans.
* DragonInChief: What he was to Sonic during his time as a mob boss, pushing him to run his new criminal empire as well as come up with plans.
* TheDogBitesBack: In Season 4, his newfound wealth and fame allows him to strike back at Sonic for his treatment. Such as when he takes the time to mail a bomb to Sonic or when he urinated all over his face during their movie shoot.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** Regardless of all the things he's done, even Tails can't find it him to shoot a dog.
** Even in Season 4, where he's a bigger jerk than ever, he was sickened with Sonic's plan to [[spoiler:blow up a theater and kill countless innocent people just to get revenge on Tails]].
* Fiction500: [[spoiler: Also in Season 4, he becomes so rich he can take hot gold showers]].
* FixingTheGame: Betted against himself and his team while playing football, just so they could throw the game and make a shit-ton of money.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Temporarily becomes this in Season 5, at Sonic's request for his behavior last season.
* HateSink: His Season 4 incarnation after his FaceHeelTurn, where he becomes a huge jerk after blowing up Sonic's money and making a ton of money off of it. He ends up becoming an even bigger asshole than Sonic, which is saying a lot. Come Season 5, and he becomes a ButtMonkey instead.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's arguably the biggest dick among the main characters, usually acting sarcastic towards their antics and regularly insulting everyone he finds annoying. [[spoiler:He becomes even ''worse'' in Season 4, where he loses basically all redeeming qualities]]. Regardless, he's always by Sonic's side ([[spoiler:besides Season 4]]), and was always trying to help him out of his money issues. That and he at least attempts to be formal towards others.
* TheLancer: To Sonic.
* LaserGuidedKarma: [[spoiler:After becoming a total asshole in Season 4, Tails' ButtMonkey status ramps up in Season 5]].
* TheLoad: Eggman certainly seems to see him as one, considering he gave him "beverage duty" for the heist on Casino Zone. Though this is inverted since he's actually probably the most helpful one of the gang.
* MissionControl: Spent most of Season 1 providing jobs for Sonic.
* MistakenForGay: A RunningGag involves various characters (namely Link) believing he's gay. Though Crash Bandicoot thought he was bisexual.
* MrExposition: See above.
* NoodlePeople: [[spoiler:In Season 6, temporal shenanigans causes his limbs to extend to large lengths]].
* NotSoAboveItAll: Tails is usually the most competent person of the main group. However, [[spoiler:during his short tenure as Mob boss in Season 3, he is almost as bad at his job as Sonic]].
* OnlySaneMan: Most particularly in Season 3. His competence since then has dipped, but to a degree where he's instead OnlySaneByComparison. That being said, this is ''completely'' {{inverted}} during [[spoiler:Season 4, where's far more of a LargeHam and the BigBad of the season]].
* PowerFloats: [[spoiler:After Sonic AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence, Tails is able to fly now. But it's really impractical, since Tails can already fly]].
* SitcomArchNemesis: He has an absolute disdain for Link, simply because his flamboyant personality and tendency to not take things too seriously pisses him off.
* TheStarscream: [[spoiler:Betrays Sonic in the Season 3 finale, [[TheDogBitesBack though it's hard to say he didn't have a good reason]]]].
* TookALevelInDumbass: He grows slightly less competent as the show goes on, but Season 8 is where he's especially low in the intelligence department in that he became more prone to openly immature behavior.
* TookALevelInJerkass: [[spoiler:In Season 4, when he becomes rich and becomes an even bigger asshole than Sonic]].
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: [[spoiler:Again, in Season 4, Tails becomes rich and a famous celebrity. However, he also turns into a ''massive'' dick in the process. Yet despite his very obvious asshole behavior, everybody (except Sonic of course) loves him]].
* YankTheDogsChain: [[spoiler:After suffering a massive HumiliationConga in Season 5, Tails eventually loses his mansion, all of his money and reputation due to Sonic's time traveling shenanigans]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik]]
[[quoteright:310:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sfh_dr_eggman.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Mike Parker

Long time enemy, new time friend of Sonic. After being little more than a nuisance in Season 1, Eggman comes to realize that he has nothing to do with his life if Sonic dies, and eventually becomes his friend.
----
* AdiposeRex: In Season 6, [[spoiler:he steals Sonic's time machine to fix his past mistakes. The end result is that he does win, but he also invents the incredibly-fattening Taco Sandwich and becomes an immobile blob]].
* ArcVillain: He was a recurring villain in Season 1, though downplayed in that he was [[HarmlessVillain more of a nuisance than an outright villain]]. He becomes this again in Season 8 and plays it much more straight when Eggette forces him back into villainy in a BigBadDuumvirate.
* AscendedExtra: In season 1 he was a recurring nuisance. Season 2 has him almost entirely absent aside from two episodes. By season 3 he is firmly established as one of the gang.
* BabyMorphEpisode: [[spoiler:Continued changes to the space-time continuum in Season 6 cause him to turn into a baby.]]
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:Saves Sonic's life in the Season 2 finale]].
* BigEater: More apparent in later seasons. He especially loves fried Mexican food.
* ButtMonkey: Not as often as Sonic or Tails, but still has his fair share of AmusingInjuries.
* DitzyGenius: His robot building skills mostly see use in building deep fryers and funny-looking but useless upgrades for machines. However, as seen in "Falco," he can create actual weapons if he's not distracted (he still couldn't hold off the deep fryers though).
* EverybodyHasStandards: Eggman's a BigEater, but even he thinks eggshell tacos -- tacos where the taco shells are made out of eggshells -- are disgusting.
* FaceHeelTurn: He tries taking over the world again when Eggette meets up with him, [[spoiler:though he ultimately refuses to kill Sonic and returns to being friendly in Season 8's finale.]]
* FanDisservice: He spends most of the show without pants, though his simplistic character sprite fortunately doesn't make this entirely unpleasant. Also, his [[GagPenis "Giant Pixel Dick"]] in the Season 7 premiere. [[spoiler:Though due to universe being reduced to 8-bit graphics in the Season 7 premiere, it's fortunately not ''too'' unpleasant either]].
* FatBastard: Mostly in Season 1, but he still shows it later on.
* FatIdiot: Most of the time. His obsession with food can cloud his judgment.
* {{Flanderization}}: Mainly his food obsession. The first four seasons implied Eggman to be a BigEater but rarely if ever explicitly depicted him as such. Beginning around Season 5, however, it became a prominent character trait of his.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Jim seems to be the only guy in the group who genuinely likes him. Though, with time, Sonic and Tails did begin to warm up to him (to just tolerating him).
* {{Gasshole}}: He's noticeably more flatulent in Season 8.
* HeelFaceTurn: He performs one of these after he realizes that his life would be meaningless without Sonic.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Earthworm Jim.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's rude and idiotic, that's for sure, but he ''does'' have some nice moments here and there. In fact, in Season 8, [[spoiler:he ultimately chooses not to murder Sonic, being reminded of their friendship and ultimately tosses his chances of becoming the new ruler of the universe]].
** He valiantly admits that Earthworm Jim is his best friend. Keep in mind that this was during season 8, where Jim was TheFriendNobodyLikes ''and'' TheLoad.
* JizzedInMyPants: [[spoiler:Sonic's death in Season 6]] apparently causes him to do this.
* TheLoad: Tends to be the most useless one out of the group.
* NotThatKindOfDoctor: He's apparently a podiatrist. Downplayed, considering podiatry ''is'' a medical field.
* PoisonousPerson: When the Battletoads lick him, [[spoiler:they die.]]
* SeenItAll: Like Sonic and the rest of the gang, he seeks to find a better purpose after having done everything they could think of.
* ShowWithinAShow: "Cooking With Eggman".
* ThoseTwoGuys: After Season 1, it's rare to see him without Jim.
* ToiletHumor: The main source of fart and poop jokes in the series. In fact, two things on his bucket list are "have someone regret NOT rebuilding the universe using Eggman shit" and "Fart in Tails's mouth."
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Earthworm Jim]]
[[quoteright:245:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sfh_earthworm_jim.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Alex Bernstein

Earthworm Jim is one of the four main characters of the series and is a very close friend of Dr. Eggman.
----
* AccidentalMurder: [[spoiler:In a fit of drunken-induced rage, Jim accidentally shoots Morty (from another Lowbrow series titled ''WebAnimation/MortyKombat'') and decapitates him. And because Morty wasn't in his [[Franchise/MortalKombat respective game]] at the time, [[KilledOffForReal his death was unfortunately permanent]]]].
* AscendedExtra: Originally just a recurring character before joining Sonic's gang.
* BerserkButton: Make sure to get him some ''fucking'' water when he asks.
* BigDamnHeroes: Save's Sonic's life in the Season 2 finale.
* ButtMonkey: Though he has it a bit easier compared to the rest of the main characters. Though it noticeably increased in Season 8, where he's turned into the NoRespectGuy.
* TheDragAlong: While not exactly TheLoad, but Jim doesn't admittedly seem to have much of a reason to hang out with the Sonic gang, outside of probably just being bored.
* TheDogBitesBack: [[spoiler:In the final episode after his treatment in the 8th season; he attempts to be an Evil Villain by hijacking a Death Egg Robot, but Sonic turns it down saying they are not ‘one of them turns evil’ thing again.]]
* ForcedTransformation: Temporal shenanigans turn him into [[spoiler:Yoshi]].
* HeelFaceTurn: Originally wanted to kill Sonic for stealing his suit, but later forgives him and even saves Sonic from Mario's Mob Melee.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Eggman.
* NoRespectGuy: In Season 8, ''everybody'' all of a sudden begins treating him like shit and doesn't take anything he does seriously. [[spoiler:Not even when he hijacks a Death Egg Robot and threatens the others]].
* NotSoAboveItAll: Ever since he spent several months surrounded by South American coke and prostitutes, he's been notably more hedonistic.
* OnlySaneByComparison: He is the most level headed guy of the group and is usually one of the more [[NiceGuy nicer characters]]. But between his occasional greed and being addicted to sex and drugs, it's clear he's not any better than either Sonic or Eggman.
* PaperThinDisguise: [[spoiler:After accidentally killing Morty, Jim [[GenuineHumanHide wears his decapitated body]] (the same way he wears his Super Suit) and poses as Morty so nobody would get suspicious. However, Jim doesn't bother to conceal his worm head outside of an obviously fake wig and develops a habit of [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial repeatedly and randomly telling people that he's "definitely Morty"]]. Fortunately the people he's trying to fool are TooDumbToLive]].
* ScrewYourself: [[spoiler:The gang was supposed to ''kill'' their time-travel-created other selves, but Jim ended up... "wormholing" his.]]
* StraightMan: He's usually the foil to everybody else's antics.
* ThrowTheDogABone: After his humiliation throughout season 8, he found his footing again by the next.
* ThoseTwoGuys: After Season 1, it's rare to see him without Eggman.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: "Why do I hang out with you assholes?"
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Knuckles the Echidna]]
[[quoteright:193:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_3454.png]]

->'''Voiced by:''' Mike Parker

Knuckles in this series has a pretty good life unlike Sonic, being the owner of Burger Time and a pretty sweet moped. However, Sonic then burns down his restaurant with a crack pipe and steals his moped for crack, in which Knuckles is forced to work at "Tre Douche." Soon afterwards, it's shown that Knuckles may not be as happy with his life as he seemed.
----
* AscendedExtra: {{Downplayed}}, but Season 6 gives him the most appearances compared to the other seasons. Season 8 as well, where he along with Sonic and Tails gather their gang to take down Eggman and Eggette. He also becomes Sonic’s collage roommate in Season 9, officially joining the main cast.
* BeneathTheMask: Appears to be joyful, but is actually very discontent with his life and Burger Time. His depression is shown a bit more in Season 4.
* BurgerFool: Averted at first and played straight later on; He's the owner of a Burger Time restaurant and initially appeared to be in content with it. However, Season 6 showed that he hated working at the restaurant because the chef was an asshole.
* DrivenToSuicide: After [[spoiler:being trapped in a white void with Sonic, Tails, Eggman, and Jim. He fails.]]
* EleventhHourRanger
* FutureLoser: Retroactive version. When Knuckles first appears, he's the owner of a burger joint that he seems pretty happy with. After Sonic burns the joint down with a crack pipe, Knuckles is then seen working at a fancy restaurant but despises it as he now has to serve, in his own words, "pretentious dickheads". Then when Sonic and company attempt to fix the timeline in Season 6, Knuckles expressed distaste at his current status in life and tries to save himself. [[spoiler: Unfortunately for him, he fails, and by the end of the series, he's resorted to working 39 hours a week at Burger Time and remains [[ItMakesSenseInContext stuck a red pixel]]]].
* LargeHam: Perhaps one of the show's most boisterous characters.
* JiveTurkey: Frequently speaks in bizarre lingo that sounds like he's trying too hard to be cool.
* JumpedAtTheCall: [[spoiler:In Season 8, he gives a RousingSpeech about the importance of stopping Eggman and Eggette, whereas Sonic and Tails were content to hide at Burger Time]].
* RhymesOnADime: "Frying and buying!" and variations thereof.
* UnexplainedRecovery: [[spoiler:In Season 8, he's no longer a red pixel]].
* RedBoxingGloves: Pointed out to be wearing white boxing gloves all the time several times throughout the series.

!!Supporting Characters

[[folder:Mother Brain]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Alex Bernstein

The mother of Soniqua and is a grotesque and ''extremely'' horny "mutant brain monster".
----
* AllWomenAreLustful: [[FanDisservice In the worst way possible]].
* BrainInAJar: Like her ''Metroid'' counterpart, she is a giant brain monster in a giant jar. However, unlike her original counterpart, she has an actual face as opposed to just one giant eyeball.
* BrainMonster: She is a giant brain monster in that jar. She's mentioned being a mutant as well, however.
* EasilyForgiven: After Sonic tries to kill Mother Brain, she forgives him after being shown "cable satellite television."
* ExplosiveBreeder: As she puts it, by virtue of being a mutant brain monster, she can "pop out kids like a god damn gumball machine."
* FanDisservice: Considering she's a giant, pulsating brain, this was pretty obvious.
* InnocentInnuendo: Although she makes a ''lot'' of innuendos, on at least one occasion she did it by accident.
--> [[spoiler:MB: "I told [Frank} that there's always room for a giant worm in ''my'' cockpit, but it was going to cost him!"]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Soniqua]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Mike Parker

Sonic's and Mother Brain's daughter that was born after Sonic (intoxicatedly) had sex with Mother Brain. Mother Brain quickly gave birth to her, much to Sonic's chagrin. Sonic initially wanted to kill her off, saying that it'll prevent him from paying child support. However, after Soniqua saves Sonic from getting killed by [[Franchise/MortalKombat Goro]], Sonic values Soniqua (a lot more than Tails, that's for sure).
----
* AmbiguousGender: Initially, there was a running gag with characters being unable to determine Soniqua's gender. Eventually, she was confirmed to be a female.
* BerserkButton: Soniqua will brutally murder anyone who threatens Sonic.
* BrainMonster: Like Her Mother, she is a brain monster mixed with a hedgehog, she is brain monster/hedgehog hybrid.
* BigDamnHeroes: Has saved Sonic from death many times.
* CurbstompBattle: Dishes these out to anyone that dares to fight her. The only two people not to be on the receiving end of this are [[spoiler: Mario who outsmarted her and Eggette who tossed her into outer space.]]
* HonorBeforeReason: Will do anything to protect her father, no matter how little Sonic cares about her.
* IAmAHumanitarian: When Mother Brain tries to have Sonic killed by sending a bunch of Metroids after him, Soniqua protects him by growing large and eating the Metroids.
* MamaBear: Soniqua is this to Sonic, despite being his daughter.
* MoralityPet: Sonic initially detested her at first, even attempting to get her ''killed'' in one of his jobs. But after she saved his life from a fight with [[VideoGame/MortalKombat Goro]], Sonic began to treat her better and eventually became one of the few characters Sonic consistently treats nice.
* NighInvulnerable: Almost impossible to even ''damage'' her! Soniqua has survived eating a bunch of bombs, an entire thretre exploding, and even [[spoiler: being dipped into lava by Mario]]. However, she is mildly hurt by electricity.
* NoIndoorVoice: Shouts a lot.
* ParentalNeglect: Neither parent is really sure what gender she is. Sonic starts off as an [[AbusiveParents Abusive Parent]], but even after he improves, she still goes off to battle Pokemon by herself and spent time in hell.
* SuperStrength: Is capable of ripping people in half with no problem.
* TheSnackIsMoreInteresting: [[spoiler: When Soniqua was about to exact her revenge on Mario for killing Sonic, Mario easily distracts her with peanut butter and bread trapping her in an electrified cage in the process.]]
* ThirdPersonPerson: She often refers to herself in the third-person (e.g., "SONIQUA WANT ICE CREAM!").
* WordSaladHumor: "AVOCADO!"
* YouNoTakeCandle: Her English is pretty broken.
-->'''Soniqua:''' SONIQUA WANT ICE CREAM!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kirby]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Mike Parker

Unlike the friendly Kirby, this incarnation of Kirby is a psychopath. He murders innocent creatures and is known to randomly eat anything. In Season 4, he becomes a famous movie director and tries to help Sonic out.
----
* AffablyEvil: Downright friendly towards Sonic and the others, despite being a mass murderer.
* AscendedExtra: Had his role notably expanded halfway through Season 4, where it's shown he became a movie director and wanted to make a movie based on Sonic's life.
* AxCrazy: He loves to murder way too much.
* BadBoss: In Season #4, whenever a Waddle Dee arrives to give Kirby food or drinks, Kirby murders them.
* TheBigGuy: When Dr. Eggman was assigning roles to everyone before robbing Casino Zone, he gives the role "The Muscle" to Kirby. Considering Kirby is one of the most effective fighters in the series being a murderous psychopath (next the Soniqua), this is understandable. Ironic as Kirby is the smallest of the characters.
* BloodyHilarious: Beats innocent creatures until blood is spewing out of them.
* CatchPhrase: "LOVE IT!" but only in Season 4.
* CreatorKiller: InUniverse; After becoming a movie director in Season 4, he decides to make a movie based on Sonic and Tails' lives. However, the film turned out to be such a flop that he got kicked out of Hollywood.
* CurbstompBattle: Any battle Kirby has been in has been a total asskicking in his favor. His foes are either swallowed whole or beaten to death with an umbrella.
* DemotedToExtra: After being an AscendedExtra in Season 4, Kirby's role became increasingly smaller, only getting a passing mention in Season 5 in the episode "Falco", one line and appearance in Season 6, and just one major appearance (plus a cameo in the finale) in Season 7. Kirby has two appearances in Season 8 but not only are they both brief but he just has one single line in the whole season.
* ExtremeDoormat: After weaning off murder, he becomes very depressed and just puts up with other's shit. [[LudicrousGibs Doesn't last very long however]].
* FatBastard: Not exactly fat, since Kirby is traditionally known to be literally round. In Season 4, Kirby has shown to slimmed down after becoming a director, instead now resembling a dildo.
* KarmaHoudini: Aside from getting gonorrhea and being treated like crap in ''Kung Fu'' (which in itself was a very brief time), Kirby never gets punished for his murderous actions.
* OffTheWagon: After being run out of Hollywood, he spent time in a temple to stop murdering people. After Sonic and Tails makes him murder just one more person, he goes on a spree.
* OneHitKill: Get swallowed by Kirby, you're dead.
* SwallowedWhole: One of his preferred murder methods. Unlike in the games where the enemies swallowed by Kirby are turned into stars and respawn off-screen, people who are swallowed by Kirby is this series are straight up dead. Just ask Taizo Hori and Princess Potato.
* TokenEvilTeammate: While Sonic and the gang aren't what you would call heroes, Kirby is a straight-up psychopath.
* YesMan: In Season 4, he loves everything Sonic and Tails say, but sometimes immediately goes back on that.

[[folder:Gilius Thunderhead]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Mike Parker

A very incompetent and unpredictable ally, Thunderhead can get on anybody's nerves. Sonic meets him and he orders Sonic to have sex with Tyris, which Sonic finds disgusting. Even though this backfires, Thunderhead seems to like Sonic enough to help him against Mario's Mafia. He had a temporary stay at Sonic's mafia office, but once the crew started drifting away, Thunderhead got sent to jail after starting a bar and committing some crimes, and has gotten an obsession with "ass-wine" (putting a condom full of wine up his ass).
----
* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: Once again, due to his stupidity, he got zombified after a zombie bit him [[spoiler:while having sex with her]].
* AssShove: His "ass-wine."
* BasementDweller: Lives with his mom, apparently.
* BestialityIsDepraved: He gets humped by the Duckhunt dog at the end of "Pokemon", and he's clearly enjoying it. Then in Season 8, where he gets [[BlackComedyRape unwillingly humped]] by a polar bear, Thunderhead outright says he's lost track of the number of animals he's had sex with.
* BigDamnHeroes: Is part of the group who saves Sonic and Tails from Mario and his mafia in Season 2.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: An incredibly eccentric and impulsive character, he is.
* CommutingOnABus: By the fifth season onward, he typically makes one or two appearances per season often with large gaps between them.
* DemotedToExtra: Initially a recurring character (albeit a small one), but from Season 5 onwards, he only ended up making cameos and one-shot appearances.
* ExtremeOmnisexual: Is the most perverted and depraved character in the series (which is saying a LOT).
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: None of the gang particularly likes him as they are too grossed out by his behavior ([[EveryoneHasStandards even Sonic has his limits]]). Noticeably the gang never invites him to hang out with them. It is only by happenstance or because [[TheThingThatWouldNotLeave he keeps following them]].
* GroinAttack: Implied; [[spoiler: apparently, there was a "teeth situation" with getting a blowjob from a zombie]].
* ILoveTheDead: He was willing to have sex with a zombie. [[spoiler:Which resulted in him turning into one]].
* LargeHam: Oh so very much. Even lampshaded to a degree in the blooper of his introductory episode.
* LastNameBasis: He's only referred to by his last name. In fact, his first name was never even ''said once''.
* ShowWithinAShow: He's the host of his own at-home show titled "Dr. Thunderhead's Prescription Love-Pad." It's... made very obvious that his advice just amounts to sexual harassment.
* SixthRanger: Joins Sonic's gang for a while when he was in the mafia. Afterwards he makes periodic appearances for the rest of the series.
* TheOtherDarrin: In-Universe; In Season 6, due to a time-traveling mishap, Thunderhead apparently made various public appearances as Sonic, to the point where he was considered the "real Sonic."
* UnexplainedRecovery: [[spoiler:In Season 7, Thunderhead gets turned into a zombie. When he reappears in Season 8, he's not anymore]]. Considering how great the hospital in their world is (being able to [[BackFromTheDead resurrect Sonic from his Pac-man ghost form]]) it is likely he just got revived.

[[folder:Link]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Clint Gage

Link in this series has a "fabulous" personality. A bit scatterbrained, he's more concerned with fashion and margaritas than his actual job.
----
* AbusiveParents: As a kid, his homophobic uncle evidently tried to force Link to be straight... Via some sort of [[HypocriticalHumor sexual abuse]].
* AlternateSelf: Young Link appears to be this, since the characters didn't time travel to meet him and Link appears not long after. So it appears the two coexist in the same time, but in separate game locations.
* CampGay: If his tone isn't obvious enough already.
* {{Gayngst}}: As Young Link, he was depressed for having to repress his sexuality.
* NiceGuy: Debatable, as he loves to mess around with Tails, but Link's one of the few characters in the series that's not a complete A-hole.
* ShowWithinAShow: Serves as the host of "Link's Video Game Fashion Don't-sies", where he criticizes the fashion sense of various video game characters.
* SkewedPriorities: Values margaritas over saving princesses. He also feels criticizing someone's outfit is worth getting beat up over.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: "MARGARITAS!!!" (though that would be Trademark Favorite ''Drink'' in this case)

!Other Characters

[[folder:Dominique Wilkins]]
->'''Voiced by:'''

A former NBA Basketball player who played for the Atlanta Hawks, he is heavily featured on the poster that Sonic really likes to watch. After the poster's death in Season 2, Sonic orders the real Dominique Wilkins to be frozen in carbonite.
----
* ChekhovsGunman: [[spoiler:After serving as the image of Sonic's much-beloved poster for the first two seasons, getting captured by Sonic himself who then froze him in carbonite in Season 3, and then disappearing completely afterwards, Wilkins returns as a plot essential character in the final season, where he turns out to be the Creator that the gang was searching for]].
* {{God}}: [[spoiler:In a ''very'' big twist, he turns out to be this at the finale of Season 7]].
* KilledMidSentence: [[spoiler:When he convinces Sonic to kill him]].
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:In a quite unceremonious way, really]].
* RunningGag: Sonic "watching" his poster was a running gag in the first and second season. To the point of being lampshaded in the Season 1 finale.
-->'''Narrator:''' Remember that running joke? Kinda lost track of that one.
* ShootTheShaggyDog: [[spoiler:Quite literally; Sonic and the gang spend almost the entirety of the final season searching for the Creator of all video games, in order to know why he was tormenting them by messing with reality. In the very last episode, Sonic and Tails discovers that the Creator was Wilkins the whole time. However, Sonic kills Wilkins before the duo could get any answers]].
* SpannerInTheWorks: Darth Vader unfreezes Dominique Wilkins from his carbonite prison easily in The War Part I, but in his blinded haze in Part II, he throws Vader into the [[ItMakesSenseInContext Family Feud core reactor, killing him.]]
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: After his poster is destroyed in the Season 2 finale, Sonic has the real Wilkins frozen in carbonite, only for Darth Vader to unfreeze him. Afterwards, Wilkins was never seen again. [[spoiler: [[TheBusCameBack At least until the Season 7 finale]]]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Princess Potato]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Stacey Silva

Princess Potato is a fanmade princess in the series, she has red hair & wears a blue dress she hails from a Mario knockoff game called Super Italian Labored Town (which doesn't exist), she knew Mario & his plan to rob Casino Zone, Potato is described as somewhat a whore (examples are shown in "Peach" and "Casino Zone: Part One") and she seems to be an alcoholic, and bossy. Her attitude was the reason why Sonic wanted her dead. She must've had millions of STD's because Kirby claimed he got gonorrhea in his mouth when he ate her, She later returns in Season 6 alive and still a drunk whore. She is revealed to be the President of the United States. In "Thunderhead" She steals the epoch to go time traveling and it causes Mario to come back.
----
* AscendedExtra: Sorta kinda. Potato had a minor role in Season 3 until being eaten by Kirby. Then, she reappears in Season 6 with a slightly larger role becoming [[spoiler: president and joining Mario as his love interest.]]
* AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: [[spoiler:In season 8, she becomes the new {{God}}]].
* TheAlcoholic: Ooh yes! She's probably the one person that can give Sonic a run for his money.
* BackFromTheDead: She was eaten by Kirby in Season 3 but came back somehow in Season 6, presumably due to Sonic's time-hopping shenanigans.
* BeAsUnhelpfulAsPossible: Surprisingly subverted. Unlike with Peach, Potato gave Sonic and Tails info about Mario planning to rob from Casino Zone, even if she did get... [[TooMuchInformation a little too much into detail about it]]. Tails even lampshades this.
* CaptainErsatz: Princess Potato is a parody. She says she comes from the Mario knockoff game, "Super Italian Laborer Town".
* TheLoad: Always drunk and laying around doing nothing or sleeping.
* NoodleIncident: When Soniqua sends Mario Bowser's decapitated head as a death threat with bad grammar, Mario asks Princess Potato "if she did this again", implying that this isn't the first time this has happened to him.
* OfficialCouple: It's pretty clear that she and Mario are a thing considering she mentions how Mario would always like to have sex with her and [[spoiler: brings him back to life in Season 6.]]
* SerialEscalation: Went from being Mario's "side dish", to [[spoiler: becoming the President of America, and then becoming the [[{{God}} Creator of the Universe]]]].
* STDImmunity: Averted; Kirby claims he got gonorrhea from eating Potato, implying she may have had a ''lot'' of [=STDs=]
* SwallowedWhole: Was eaten by Kirby in Season 3.
* TooMuchInformation: Princess Potato claims that Mario would only tell her stuff during sex, and when she informs Sonic and Tails about his plans to rob Casino Zone, she proceeds to get descriptive about the sex. Fortunately, Sonic cuts her off before she could continue.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Toe Jam & Earl]]
->'''Voiced by:'''

A pair of people who hire Sonic to apparently kill a bunch of people. Or at least, that's what Sonic thought, when in reality they were a hallucination of Sonic.
----
* AxCrazy: All they do throughout the episode is throw random garbage at people approaching them.
* FatBastard: Earl is quite chubby, to a point of where he was based around a full garbage bag.
* {{Gonk}}: Neither of them look all that appealing when compared to Sonic and Tails.
* HeroWorshipper: Throughout their appearance, all they do is rain down praise upon Sonic for how cool he is.
* ImaginaryFriend: While they ''seem'' to be close friends with Sonic in their single appearance, in all reality they're just a garbage bag and broken chair imagined as real people.
* {{Jerkass}}: They constantly hurl insults at all the people they're murdering.
* JiveTurkey: Add in their TotallyRadical attitude, and they come across as quite annoying to say the least.
* ShatteringTheIllusion: Their lack of existence is quickly outed by Tails the second he brings up that Sonic murdered multiple people under the allusion that they were paying him to do it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Amy Rose]]
->'''Voiced by:'''

Amy Rose is a female Hedgehog that has a crush on Sonic.
----
* AssShove: A beer bottle up Sonic's ass. And she ''drinks'' out of it.
* StalkingIsLove: Crazy obsessed with Sonic in her episode.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: After a one-shot appearance in Season 3, a another secondary appearance in the movie theater at the end of Season 4. Amy doesn't reappear again until Season 6, apparently serving as some sort of secretary for [[spoiler:Sonic after he travels back in time to make himself rich]]. However, she disappears once more afterwards with no explanation or acknowledgement. [[spoiler:Though considering that Sonic and the gang kept screwing around with the space-time continuum, it's a safe bet that she was simply written out of the time period]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Candy Kong]]
->'''Voiced by:'''

A female Kong who distributes TNT barrels in ''[[{{VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountry}} Donkey Kong Country]].''
----
* ArentYouGoingToRavishMe: When Eggman and Eggette take over Donkey Kong Country, she assumes that Eggman is going to ravage her. Disgusted, Eggman rejects and gets Eggette to get the hell out of there.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: Manages to knock down mob boss crime lord Mario into a pit. It doesn't kill him though.
* FanDisservice: Sonic certainly thinks so considering he doesn't want to bang someone that's basically "Donkey Kong in a bikini." Candy's voice certainly doesn't help.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: Candy saves Sonic from Mario and instead of being rewarded with sex, Sonic rewards her by knocking her down the same pit saying that it still wasn't worth it.
* SexForServices: Candy was only willing to give away her TNT Barrels if Sonic has sex with her. He was eventually convinced to do so but Mario suddenly appeared.
* UncertainDoom: It is uncertain if Candy survived being knocked down the pit by Sonic. Mario is shown to climb back out unscathed (though he ''is'' [[MadeOfIron Mario]]) but Candy isn't seen again in the series afterwards, she did reappear in the "Hedgehog For Hire" episode "It Begins" however.
* VocalDissonance: Candy has a very masculine-sounding voice which is most likely a reason why Sonic is turned off by her.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bomberman]]
->'''Voiced by:'''

Bomberman (also goes by White Bomberman) is the main protagonist of his own series.
----
* CharacterDeath: Dies in his debut episode after Soniqua accidentally spits up bombs on him.
* HappilyMarried: Is shown to have a wife who was obviously grieving his death.
* NiceGuy: He is the ''only'' character in the series who isn't a complete asshole and treats Sonic very nicely.
* PetTheDog: Compliments Soniqua for disposing of the bombs and even gives Sonic a bonus for such a good job and even offers to buy him a drink. There was a reason why Sonic was quick to declare Bomberman as his new best friend.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Let's face it: Bomberman is this for the ''entire series!''
* TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth: The single most pure-hearted character in the show died in his only appearance.
* WhatTheHellHero: Gives a small one to Sonic for forcing Soniqua into eating bombs. Once he realizes she is okay, Bomberman [[PetTheDog compliments her]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Eggette]]
->'''Voiced by:'''

Eggette is Eggman's daughter & main antagonist of the eighth season of Hedgehog For Hire. Despite the fact that she originated from Sonic Mania, inhabiting the sprite of the Spider-Mobile boss, her existence was entirely influenced by fanon. When the game got burned down, she left in search of her father. Being from a different Sonic universe altogether, she is under the misconception that Eggman is an evil genius and that Sonic is her bitter rival. As such, she is hellbent on taking over the world.
----
* ArcVillain: She is the main antagonist of Season 8, starting with the third-fourth episode where she wanted Eggman to go back into villainy again.
* AxCrazy: She is shown killing two villains from ''VideoGame/StreetsOfRage'' by using her Skin Shredder machine, which rips the skin off their bodies.
* CanonForeigner: The Eggette that appears in the series originally came from the fanon of ''VideoGame/SonicMania'', since the Eggman sprite of Spider-mobile Boss resemble Eggman if he had a daughter & she was added into the world after ''Sonic Mania'' was destroyed by Sonic & Tails.
* CharacterDeath: [[spoiler: She was presumably killed when Soniqua spitted on a bunch of fire on to her]].
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: [[spoiler: Her presumed death in the season finale of Season 8, since she was burned alive by Soniqua]].
* KnightOfCerebus: PlayedWith; Like Mario, Eggette is a highly competent and bloodthirsty villain but she plays the StraightMan that's SurroundedByIdiots, giving her more comical moments than serious.

!Mario and His Mafia

[[folder:Mario]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Clint Gage

Once a princess saving plumber, now a high-end Mob boss. After Tails borrows money from Mario to bail Sonic out of jail, Sonic has to play hitman for the mob. After Sonic accidentally fails a mission and then lets Luigi get ran over on the following mission, Mario sets out to kill Sonic. Mario sends his Mafia friends to kill Sonic, but Sonic's friends help Sonic out and Sonic kills Mario, taking over the mafia. [[spoiler:In Season 6, Princess Potato goes back in time and revives Mario, who wants revenge on the hedgehog]].
----
* AccidentalHero: [[spoiler:Kills Sonic, but doing so inadvertently brings world peace.]]
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: How he begins to view Sonic's nicknaming RunningGag.
-->'''Mario:''' Now, go do the thing where you annoy everybody and then kill them.\\
'''Sonic:''' Consider it done, [[Series/SavedByTheBell A.C. Slater]]!\\

'''Sonic:''' Oh, no, [[DontExplainTheJoke 'cause]]... uh, Creator/MarioLopez!\\
'''Mario:''' ''[[{{Beat}} (beat)]]'' Okay, that actually wasn't bad.
* AffablyEvil: Yes, he is the #1 crime boss and has no qualms over murdering people he dislikes, but he also genuinely loves his brother and family, and also [[BenevolentBoss cares for his underlings enough to bring them back from the dead]]. Although he doesn’t really like Sonic, he chats rather pleasantly with him and gives him another chance when he fails one of his tasks. [[spoiler: It’s only when Sonic kills Luigi that he decides to get revenge]].
* AlmostDeadGuy: Takes the time to complain about deadly spikes [[LampshadeHanging appearing in a natural environment]] before dying.
* ArchEnemy: To Sonic, naturally. Especially after Sonic inadvertantly got Luigi killed and killed the man himself a little later after that.
* ArcVillain: Of Season 2 [[spoiler: and the second half of Season 6]].
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: Wanted to kill Sonic for destroying his business, letting Luigi get hit by a bus, and programming his DVR so it records each episode of Bachelor Pad like three different times. The latter of which he considers the worst of the three.
* AssShove: [[spoiler: In the Season 7 finale, Sonic uses his newfound powers to do this to Mario, with one of the statues in the background.]]
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler:In Season 6, he gets revived due to Princess Potato travelling back in time]].
* BenevolentBoss: Was willing to [[spoiler: go back in time in order to bring back to life his crime pals]]. Especially since they follow Mario's orders without hesitation.
* TheDon: Runs a mafia business.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: In Season 3, his ghost is pretty okay with Sonic ruling the mob. [[spoiler:Averted in Season 6]].
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: [[spoiler: he’s abruptly killed off in season 9.]]
* EnemyMine: Eggette taking over the world doesn't really mesh well with Mario and his mafia, so he temporarily forms one with Sonic. However, once she's taken care of, Mario remains enemies with Sonic.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Mario may be cold and ruthless, but he genuinely cares about Luigi, pines for his mother's ravioli-nitis, and was sent over the edge to murder Sonic when [[BigBrotherInstinct he learned that Luigi died]].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even he finds Sonic to be an asshole.
* HeelFaceTurn: In Season 3, he briefly appears as a ghost and seemed to be in content with Sonic running his mob. [[spoiler:In Season 6, however, not so much]].
* HeroKiller: [[spoiler:Successfully kills Sonic ([[DeathIsCheap for awhile]]) in Season 6.]]
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:In Season 6, he fires out the Bullet Bowser to kill Soniqua. However, [[PainfullySlowProjectile it's too slow and it explodes on him shortly after he forgets about it]]]].
* InTheBack: [[spoiler:In season 9, he gets stabbed in the back with a knife by an unknown assailant, killing him.]]
* KnightOfCerebus: PlayedWith; Mario has plenty of comical moments, but that's mainly because he serves as the StraightMan when the people he has to deal with are either oblivious idiots, unfazed assholes, or both. And the times he ''does'' try to be genuinely comical, he's unable to come up with clever jokes. Beyond that, Mario's a pretty competent villain.
* PragmaticVillainy: [[spoiler:In Season 8, he still hates Sonic, but he helps him stop Eggman and Eggette's attempted takeover of the video game universe]].
* TaughtByExperience: [[spoiler: Upon his revival, he kills Sonic with a gun instead of resorting to taunting, knowing that was part of what killed him last time]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Luigi]]
->'''Voiced by:'''

Mario's younger brother who also works as part of his mafia.
----
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler: Is bought back to life by a time traveling Mario in Season 6.]]
* BigBrotherWorship: Implied. Luigi did state that he still loves Mario despite him being a glory hog. However, Luigi was very high at the time. Though, Mario does love him back.
* CharacterDeath: After getting high off of licking Frogger, Luigi's jumps into the middle of the street and is quickly ran over by a bus.
** [[spoiler: Dies a second time when Soniqua spits lava on him.]]
* MoralityPet: Appears to be one for Mario considering Mario is willing to not only kill Sonic, but also assemble as many other villains as he can to help him, to avenge Luigi's death.
* TooDumbToLive: Luigi isn't too bright for wanting to get high off of Frogger but doing so ''right beside the freaking street?''
* TookALevelInJerkass: In season 9, Following [[spoiler: Mario’s death]], he becomes a lot more aggressive, threatening Sonic if he doesn’t win any championships.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Taizo Hori]]
->'''Voiced by:'''

The main character from VideoGame/DigDug, he is a part of Mario's mafia.
----
* BerserkButton: Judging him for what he does will cause him to snap.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: How he kills the monsters (by crushing them to death with rocks or pumping their stomachs full of air until they explode). [[EvenEvilHasStandards Even Sonic found this to be disturbing]].
* TheExtremistWasRight: He was right when he said that the monsters would bring carnage if allowed to roam free.
* {{Irony}}: Sonic tells him he should meet Kirby, as both of them would get along for being psychopaths who seemingly like to kill monsters for fun. When Kirby meets him in [[spoiler:The Battle: Part 2, Kirby proceeds to eat him.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: Probably more of a jerkass than Sonic himself.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Taizo was correct in assuming that the Pookas and Fygars would cause mass destruction if they're let free (I.E. raping an entire village), but that didn't stop him from attempting to murder Sonic just because he insulted what Taizo does.
* {{Revenge}}: Mario enlists him knowing that he and Sonic had beef with each other.
* SwallowedWhole: How he met his fate by Kirby.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bowser Koopa]]
Mario's Original Arch Nemesis, despite this he is a member of Mario's mafia.

* KilledOffScreen: By Soniqua.
* OffWithHisHead: Soniqua kills Bowser and mails his head to Mario as a death threat.
** Mario thinks Princess Potato did this at first though.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mike Tyson]]
He is a Boxer & Villain in VideoGame/PunchOut, he is a member of Mario's mafia.
----
* BadassDecay: In-universe. He brutally hurts Sonic in his first appearance, but gets killed with no effort by Soniqua in "The Battle: Part 2".
* CurbStompBattle: To Sonic when Tails tells him that Sonic has to actually lose the match.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Soniqua rips him in half and eats his insides!
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: In "Punch Drunk" and "[[spoiler:This Can't Be Good]]" to Sonic.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Pit]]
The main protagonist of ''VideoGame/KidIcarus'' who later joins Mario's mafia due to his hatred for Sonic.
----
* BackFromTheDead: Is later bought back to life by [[spoiler: Mario]] but remains in his eggplant form.
* FaceHeelTurn: Was the main protagonist of his game thus making him a hero. However, he joins Mario's mafia to help him kill Sonic.
* AFateWorseThanDeath: To Pit being an eggplant is like "being jammed inside your own asshole" which sucks considering even when he was brought back, he was still an eggplant.
* ForcedTransformation: Is transformed into an eggplant by the Eggplant Wizard and remains that way for the rest of the series.
* JerkAss: Honestly, Sonic would've helped Pit if Pit wasn't so pushy about him needing a nurse when the former just want to rest for a few minute. Pit went from politely asking Sonic to get him a nurse to demanding him to bring him one (even calling a Sonic an "asshole" in the process).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Blanka]]

Blanka is a character from ''Franchise/StreetFighter''. He later joins Mario's mafia to kill Sonic.
----
* BackFromTheDead: Was revived by [[spoiler: Mario]] in Season 6.
* FaceHeelTurn: Was a good guy in his series but turned evil after joining Mario's side in order to kill Sonic.
* ShockAndAwe: Of course. His main attack is getting close to others and shocking them with his body.
* ShoutOut: In "Street Fighter", due to his green skin and beastly tendencies, Sonic referred to Blanka as "Franchise/{{Shrek}}".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dr. Wily (Mafia)]]
The main antagonist of ''VideoGame/MegaManClassic'' who is part of Mario's mafia. Supposedly a completely different character from the one who appears in WebAnimation/MegaManDiesAtTheEnd.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: This Dr. Wily (who is 8-bit) and the one (who uses his Wily Wars sprite) that appeared in the other series were both implied to be the same person (even the Facebook page saying that Dr. Wily just suffered a head injury instead of dying), but after said series ended, that Dr. Wily was ExiledFromContinuity and this one was easily killed by Soniqua.
* AssistCharacter: When Mario's mafia temporarily sides with Sonic and Co to take on Eggette, he can call forth his Robot Masters (also 8-bit) to fight, which includes Bomb Man (also silent).
* {{Retraux}}: Like a lot of Mario's mafia goons, he's depicted as 8-bit.
* SilentAntagonist: Unlike the other Wily, this one doesn't talk at all.

!Star Fox Crew

[[folder:Fox [=McCloud=]]]
The leader of the Star Fox crew and main character of ''Franchise/StarFox'', he is a villain in the series, at the end of Season 5.

* ArcVillain: Technically is this of Season 5 despite appearing right at the end of the season.
* INeedAFreakingDrink: After having brain sex with Mother Brain.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Though he was a total dick about it, Fox was right in saying Sonic should leave and go back to Earth after he returned.
* TaughtByExperience: He knew good and well not to challenge Sonic to a "Space Race" considering [[CruelAndUnusualDeath what happened to Falco earlier]].
