!!Main Characters

[[folder:Catalina Santana]]

Portrayed by Creator/CarmenVillalobos

Antagonic Protagonist, aspires to be an actress.

%% * AllWomenAreLustful: Played-With. She tends to behave like this at least while on the job; The irony is that when it came to being intimate with her boyfriend she was shy and was more of a tease.
%% * AllWomenArePrudes: Before she became an escort.
%% * AmIJustAToyToYou: With Titi before she began to despise him.
* BrainlessBeauty: Not the sharpest tool in the shed, especially when you consider that she could have been able to get her so desired implants really early on if she had been able to do basic math and applied common sense during that doctor's visit.
%% * CatholicSchoolGirlsRule: Donned the outfit for some of her johns.
%% * DressHitsFloor
%% * EthicalSlut
%% * {{Fetish}}
%% * GirlOnGirlIsHot: Occasionally employs this though she never really goes to far. Does this to rile up her johns.
%% * HappyEndingMassage: Sometimes does this to relax her clients.
* HookerWithAHeartOfGold: {{Subverted}}. Though she is not as corrupt as the majority of the characters she is not unwilling to use and abuse those that care about her to get what she wants.
%% * InnocentInnuendo: Part of her tease routine.
%% * LustObject: Can be viewed as this.
%% * ReallyGetsAround: Seeing as she works as a prostitute...
%% * SexualExtortion: When she get in way over her head with the drug lords.
* SexForServices: The reason she even contemplates becoming an escort is so that she can have the money to buy whatever she want (in her case, implants) as well as receive gifts from johns ranging from vacations, to jewelry, to clothing, to just about anything else.
* SuicideByAssassin: She told Pelambre that she wanted to eliminate Yésica and prepared everything to have a meeting with her ex-best friend in an open air restaurant. When it was nearly time for the reunion, Catalina called Pelambre to tell him that Yésica was waiting at a table reading a bible, and that it was the moment to strike. The hired assassins did the job without incident but when Pelambre called Catalina to tell her the news, he noticed that the phone near the corpse was also ringing and, upon closer inspection, he realised that the victim was actually Catalina and that she had used his affections as a way to secure her own death.
* TraumaCongaLine: Well, to start, at the very first party she was brought to, she was raped by 3 henchmen who took advantage of her naivete and insecurity regarding her body. As a result of this, she got pregnant and had to go through a painful abortion, due to not having enough money to pay for the anaesthetic. Later on, she would get the implants she desperately wanted, but because of a mishap, she went to the surgeon that was helping the drug lords put their merch in implants for transportation, resulting in her developing an infection and having to have them removed, leaving her unable to have another surgery due to the severity of it. When she thought she finally caught a break after marrying the wealthiest drug lord in the area, her brother is killed, her mother and ex-boyfriend (who she claimed was the love of her life) fell in love with each other and her mom was expecting his child. Finally, her best friend betrayed her, stealing her husband and wealth from her, leaving Catalina poor, without protection and humiliated. After all of this, is no wonder why she wished to take her life.
* UglyGuyHotWife: The most beautiful girl in her group that marries an old but powerful drug lord.
* UnproblematicProstitution: Horrendously {{Averted}}. Though she manages to get everything she wanted (money, power, even the implants she so desired) it all comes at the cost of her dignity and well-being. And, to top it all, she has become involved with some seriously dangerous men who at the slightest indication of betrayal would not hesitate in killing her or the ones she loves.

!!Tropes found in the sequel

This section has heavy spoilers for the 3rd season of Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso

* ActionMom: Has two children, and is an agent of the DEA.
* AbsurdlyYouthfulMother: Grandmother, actually; [[spoiler: her daughter Mariana gave birth at 18 and so Catalina is a grandmother being younger than 40]].
* BigBrotherInstinct: Will defend her little sister from anyone who threatens her.
* CharacterDevelopment: By the end of the first series, she had begun to see that the choices she made had brought her nothing more than pain and regret, and by the second series, she has begun to act with much more maturity and sensibility.
* FairCop: ''Yep'', she's a great operative in her own right, but her looks have helped her bag some dangerous criminals.
* MamaBear: Fiercely protective of her children. Even though she was at odds with Mariana, she did not hesitate in beating Dayana up when she realised that that woman was trying to lure her teenage daughter into prostitution.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: The fact that she was a call girl gets brought up in some form or another, especially with a extremely negative connotation when fighting with Albeiro or Santiago.
* ParentsAsPeople: She has tried to give her two children a good life and good morals, but due to her job in the DEA it has been hard for her to always be there for her family, causing special strain in her relationship with her daughter.
* SoBeautifulItsACurse: Her beauty has not diminished the slightest in the 20 years she was absent and even now has more than one character go ga-ga over her, unfortunately some still try to take advantage of her.
* TookALevelInBadass: She went from an abused prostitute, to the wife of a drug lord, to a survivor who put her abusers in jail and later on became a valuable operative to the DEA.

[[folder: Hilda Santana]]
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hilda_Santana_1489.bmp
Portrayed by Catherine Siachoque

Catalina and Bayron's mother, later she falls in love with Albeiro

* AbsurdlyYouthfulMother: Had her children at a young age, and when they are in their late teens-early twenties. she ends up pregnant once again by the end of the series.
* AngerBornOfWorry: Her children try to hide their illegal activities from her but she knows that they are doing something dangerous and from time to time she tearfully and angrily pleads with them to stop.
* EducationMama: She wanted Bayron and Catalina to finish their studies and get a decent job, or even enter college.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: The fact that she had a romantic relationship with her daughter's boyfriend.
* ParentsAsPeople:
** Yes, the fact that she ends up having a romantic relationship and a baby with her daughter's ex is not something that many would accept easily, but, it can be understandable if you take into consideration that her children, while wanting to bring more money to the house, end up becoming like the people she warned them against and the only one who seemed to show any sort of support and compassion was Albeiro, accompanying her in her grief for her children.
** Again, in the sequel, when Catalina the Young finds out about the story of her parents, she gives them a ReasonYouSuckSpeech and time and time again throws the fact that they sheltered her too much and didn't let her truly live back to their faces, not wanting to see their side

!!Tropes found in the sequel

* EasyAmnesia: ''{{Averted}}''. She hit her head after fainting when finding out Catalina the Elder was still alive and it caused several complications that led to her forgetting almost everything. With time she regained partial memories but almost nothing about the last 20 years, including the fact that she had another daughter or that her son was dead.
* GreenEyedMonster: In the second season of the second series, she had suspicions that Albeiro had a lover, when in reality he was trying to find information regarding Catalina the Elder and her survival. Nevertheless, this doesn't really lessen, thanks to her amnesia making her forget that she has lived 20 years together with him and believes he will abandon her for Catalina the Elder.
* MyBelovedSmother: When Catalina the Young was a toddler, Hilda decided to paint a yellow line on the floor of the entrance of their house, declaring that her daughter should not cross it under any circumstance or something bad would happen. She also didn't want Catalina to go to parties or even go to the store alone, however, this can be seen as {{justified}} when you remember that both of her eldest children were killed partly because of the toxic influence around them and she didn't have any sort of control over them.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Her over protectiveness of Catalina the Young showed to be a double edged sword because, while Catalina truly became a respectful and kindhearted girl, it also made her naive about the world which prompted her to try and fight back against Daniela, who made use of her influence to destroy Catalina and her family, kickstarting the events of the series.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Yésica "La Diabla" Beltrán]]
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/La_Diabla_7427.bmp
Portrayed by María Fernanda Yépez

Catalina's best friend, villain, boss of the escorts

* EvilRedhead: As one can tell by the picture, she's a redhead and she's the one in charge of enticing young girls with the promise of a better life if they work as prostitutes under her. Though not the biggest heavyweight in the first series, she knows how to manipulate and get her way, slowly gathering more and more power, ousting Catalina and descending further into evil.
* GreenEyedMonster: Wasn't as obvious at the beginning, but as the story progresses, she comes to resent and envy Catalina's success and her relationship with Albeiro, partly because she had a crush on him but also because she never had anyone care for her the way Albeiro cared for Catalina.
* InformedFlaw: Almost everyone in the cast remarks on how she isn't the prettiest, comparing her unfavourably with Catalina. However, the actresses portraying her are drop dead gorgeous.
* PetTheDog: She has these moments, like when she accompanied Catalina to have an abortion and took care of her after.

!!Tropes found in the sequel

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: How she felt regarding Catalina the Elder, who attracted the most powerful of drug lords and was given everything she wanted and even after 20 years have passed, she always compared their situations, gloating about gaining the upper hand. Everyone knows this and is no secret how she also despises Catalina the Young, seeing her as a direct competition to her own daughter, Daniela.
* BadBoss: Even when you manage to do a good job she has a tendency to put you down and her rewards can be a double edged sword. It doesn't help that, as time goes on, she gets increasingly paranoid and her mistreatment gets worse and worse.
* BerserkButton: Do ''not'' mention Catalina. As stated before, her hatred for her has not waned, even after 2 decades. Even now, she unconsciously has her own daughter reenact that rivalry with Catalina's half sister. If you bring up Catalina the Elder, then be sure you would be put on a no return mission or directly shot.
* CassandraTruth: Is adamant that Catalina the Elder is alive and sabotaging her but most everyone around her dismisses those claims, trying to come up with other possibilities. In part she was right, Catalina IS alive and has worked towards getting rid of La Diabla, but she wasn't behind the many attempts to Yésica's life nor was she the one sending the messages.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: The only two people she unconditionally loves and support are her mother and daughter. In Daniela's case, she goes above and beyond to give everything to her, even when it would be more sensible to say no, spoiling her rotten.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard:
** She decided to fake her death so as to manipulate everything behind the scenes and clear her path. However, because of her "death" there was a power vacuum that led to a struggle amongst the characters (both allies and enemies of her) leaving Yésica on the sidelines and unable to act in the open while her empire and daughter were in danger.
** Another reason why this backfired on her spectacularly was because, by being declared dead, it gave the DEA more room to capture her without having to deal with the extradition laws and speeding up the process, all the while giving Marcial the liberty to take back his wealth and avoid most of the complicated legal matters that would have ensued if she was officially alive.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Yeap. She can do whatever she wants to whoever she wants, consequences be damned, but if anyone tries to have the upper hand over her she gets furious and shuts them down.
* MamaBear: Fiercely protective of Daniela, she will not hesitate in killing anyone who she feels is disrespecting her daughter.
* MoreDeadlyThanTheMale: She does not hesitate to put a bullet in the head of someone she dislikes or sees as useless with far more ease than the drug lords she once feared. Even the former heavy weights that she once worked for recognise that she's several times more cruel and unstable.
* {{Jerkass}}: She's abrasive, blunt, has no respect for anyone, treats people like dirt, kills anyone who crosses her or because she didn't like what they said, etc, etc... She's not a nice person.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: She has enough money to buy every person of influence twice over. Actually, she also abuses of her [[ScrewTheRulesImBeautiful beauty]] and the fact she has enough [[ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem power]] to do as she pleases
* TookALevelInBadass: In her youth, she stayed in her lane and was only in the business of procuring pretty girls for the drug lords and was afraid of the possibility of being killed by them. Now, she's the head of a drug empire. Not only is she more shrewd and savvy than most everyone else but she also knows her way around guns and has learned how to fight.
* VillainousBSOD:
** After her mother's death, while she was faking her ''own'' death, her paranoia and fear was exacerbated to the point she started seeing the ghost of Catalina the Elder, taunting her. This event mark the beginning of the end of La Diabla's reign.
** In the third season when [[spoiler: Daniela committed suicide, la Diabla had her ''embalmed'' and took her body everywhere she went, at times acting as if her daughter was still alive]]

Hilda's son; Catalina's brother who later on will become a hitman

* BigBrotherInstinct: He can act distant from time to time, but when it comes to protecting his little sister, he does whatever it takes.
* DamnItFeelsGoodToBeAGangster: He wants this lifestyle and he wants it bad. Growing up in an area where the people with the most success were those involved with gangs and drug lords, he wholeheartedly believes that his best option for a good life is getting involved with them, to get the money and luxury he associates with that lifestyle. Unfortunately, things don't go as he expects and his deeds take a toll on him.
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: His main motivation for becoming a hitman was to provide for his mother and give her a better life.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: For all he can be abrasive and rude towards them, it's clear that he truly loves and cares for his mother and sister, the problem is that he's desperate to acquire money through any means necessary.
%% * WhiteShirtOfDeath: Was wearing one when he was murdered.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Albeiro Manrique]]

Portrayed by Fabián Ríos

Catalina's long term boyfriend and later Hilda's lover

* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Jota, especially in the second series. They have been friends for decades and support one another through every situation. They were basically attached by the hip.

!!Tropes found in the sequel

* PapaWolf: Goes above and beyond trying to protect his daughter.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With el Titi. He can't stand the man, first because of his seduction of Catalina the Elder and his attempt to do the same with Catalina the young and, second, because Titi is a drug lord that does whatever he wants. However, Albeiro knows that they need every possible ally to go against La Diabla and if that means fighting alongside el Titi then he will.
* TookALevelInBadass: He was one of the most passive characters in the first series but been throw into this war against La Diabla meant he had to be far more willing to get into the thick of the action. Especially if he wanted to protect his family

[[/folder]]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Titi_2659.bmp
Portrayed by Gregorio Pernía

Drug lord; in love with Catalina; villain

* AffablyEvil: Fun loving, playful, you keep on his good side and he can be quite nice, but just as easily he can show you how cold hearted and violent he is.
%% * DamnItFeelsGoodToBeAGangster: Absolutely loves it, and is one of the most charismatic amongst them.
* EntitledToHaveYou: The way Titi views Catalina. He becomes obsessed with her over the course of the story, to the point he even has her kidnapped while on the run from the TEA and acting like she belongs with him.
* ReallyGetsAround: Has an official girlfriend but that doesn't stop him from going after several other girls.

!!Tropes found in the sequel

* AbhorrentAdmirer: While in the first series, at least for a portion of it, Catalina was flattered by his attention, later on she would start hating him while he became obsessed with her. After her [[spoiler: faked]] death, he never stopped thinking about her and would try to woo her little sister and later on, [[spoiler: Catalina's own daughter]]
* BadBoss: Not as bad as La Diabla but he can be quite cruel, especially when things don't go his way. Many people forget because he's charismatic but just as fast he can get rid of you if you don't do what he wants.
* DistractedByTheSexy: ''So much''. The moment he sees a pretty girl is the moment he loses track of his goals and sometimes this tends to lead him to more trouble.
* LivingLegend: Just like in the first series, everyone remembers his "glorious" deeds, something that has helped him reforge a web of contacts and influence.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Generally, he's the one people have problem working with but, recently, the tables have turned and he now has a lot of friction working with Dayana.

* BrainlessBeauty
%% * GreenEyedMonster: She was incredibly annoyed by the fact that Catalina managed to attract Titi, and that he seemed more worried and interested in her friend than in her.

!!Tropes found in the sequel

* CharacterDevelopment: Twenty years after the events of the first series, she's far more mature, and is shown to be a caring and loving, albeit at times absent, mother who truly wishes that her daughter, Martina, will have a better life.
* MamaBear: She loves her daughter with all her heart and wants nothing more than to protect her, so she does whatever she can in trying to convince Martina to leave her criminal activities. Alas, this will prove to be too little, too late seeing as [[spoiler: Martina is killed by Titi, leaving Paola brokenhearted and swearing revenge against her once lover.]]
* ParentsAsPeople: Tried to give Martina a better life, which led her to get involved in one La Diabla's schemes, and ended up in jail because of it. She then had to practically abandon her daughter to find work anywhere else, and leave the country to be able to provide for her daughter.
