Characters who appeared in ''Series/SeijuuSentaiGingaman''.
----

[[foldercontrol]]

!The Gingamen
[[folder:In General]]
* ContrastingSequelProtagonist: Last season, the ''Megarangers'' were high schoolers who were recruited by someone in a tech company to fight an army of dimensional warriors. Here, the ''Gingamen'' are a team of young adults chosen to fight the Balban based on their tribe's history. While the ''Megarangers'' powers are products of technology, the ''Gingamen'' use nature and magic to become Sentai warriors.
* GoldenSuperMode: Midway into the season, the Gingamen acquire the Lights of Ginga and gained access to the Beast Armor Shine: a power-up mode that gives them more power, enhanced weaponry, and a power-up for Gingaoh. The only downside though is that all the Gingamen must be present to access the form due to the Lights dividing itself equally amongst the five.
* LegacyCharacter: It's stated from the beginning that the Gingamen have been around for three thousand years, and the tribe has honored the original warriors by having successors every so often. The team of Gingamen we follow is the 133rd Generation.

[[folder:Ryouma/Ginga Red]]

[[caption-width-right:350:"Flame Flash!"]]
The younger brother of Hyuuga, who has the Earth Power of Fire. Although he was not chosen to become Ginga Red at the beginning of the series, he takes the mantle when his older brother falls to his death in the Balban's first attack.
----
* InstantExpert: Ryouma has no idea about motorcycles, seeing that he's from Ginga Forest and transportations are mostly with horses. Then he gets Galeopulsar, and then suddenly, he's an expert motorcycle rider.
* KingOfBeasts: His Starbeast, Ginga Leon, is based on a lion.
* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: Ryōma receives the Galeopulsar, a mighty motorcycle, while his flame power [[spoiler: proves essential to defeat the Earth Beast in the finale]].
* TheLeader: He serves as the team's leader, often giving out battle plans to defeat the Balban.
* PlayingWithFire: He uses fire as his Earth Power.
* RookieRedRanger: The TropeCodifier for ''Franchise/SuperSentai''; he joined TheTeam after Hyūga, the first choice as Ginga Red, passed his powers to him.
* SignatureMove
** Earth Elemental attack: ''Hono no Tategami''[[note]]Mane of Fire[[/note]]
** Starbeast Sword attack: ''Hono Issen''[[note]]Flame Flash[[/note]]
* TerribleArtist: During the clip show episode, it turns out that Ryouma pretty much can't draw, while the other Gingamen can draw just fine. But he is so proud of it and thinks it's a totally awesome drawing...

[[caption-width-right:350:"Fluttering of a Storm!"]]
The second in command of the Gingamen who has the Earth Power of Wind.
----
* BlowYouAway: His Earth Power revolves around Wind.
* TheComicallySerious: When there is honey or tomatoes involved.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Series/HikariSentaiMaskman Takeru]] being a male member of the Sentai team who forms a personal rivalry with a swordfighting villainess. Unlike Takeru, Hayate ended up killing Shelinda in their last duel, while Takeru saved Igam from Zeba and helped to convince her to reform.
%%* TheLancer
* InstrumentOfMurder: In his civilian garb, Hayate carries a flute that doubles as a BlowGun.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: His Starbeast, Gingalcon. Which is said to be a falcon but looks like a dragon anyway.
* SignatureMove
** Earth Elemental attack: ''Arashi no Habataki''[[note]]Fluttering of a Storm[[/note]]
** Starbeast Sword attack: ''Shippu Ichijin''[[note]]Hurricane Gust[[/note]]
%%* TheSmartGuy
* TeamDad: He's the go-guy to chastise and lecture his teammates, especially younger ones like Hikaru and Saya.
* UnstoppableRage: Episode 31 sees him witness Shelinda make an attempt on Yuuta's life by crushing him under rubble. Believing Yuuta to have perished, Hayate gets infuriated ''to no end'' and angrily attacks Shelinda, leaving a nasty scar on her breast in the process.
* WindIsGreen: His wind powers have a green effect, and of course, he wears the green suit.
* WouldHitAGirl: He has a rivalry with Steerwoman Shelinda and ends up [[spoiler:being the one to kill her]].

[[caption-width-right:350:"Pulse of the Stream!"]]
A lover of nature who has the Earth Power of Water.
----
* CannotSpitItOut: He certainly cannot express his feelings towards Ms. Suzuko.
* GentleGiant: Befitting his Starbeast being a gorilla, Gouki is a gentle giant who'll only use his strength against the evil Balban.
* MakingASplash: His Earth Element revolves around water.

* TeamChef: The only guy on the team who's the best at cooking a delicious meal for them.
* TenderTears: Other than his power, Gōki is a pretty emotional guy and tends to be in tears a lot. No wonder he's the team's GentleGiant.
* WolverineClaws: His Kiba Blade's default mode is the handheld Kiba Claw.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Hikaru/Ginga Yellow]]
!!Hikaru/[[gold:Ginga Yellow]] | [-Actor: Nobuaki Takahashi-]

One of the younger members of the team who has the Earth Power of Thunder.
----
* BerserkButton: Treating him as a child will immediately set him off.
* CanisMajor: His Starbeast, Gingaverick, is a huge canis-like creature resembling a wolf.
* {{Greed}}: He's willing to use his lightning powers for profitable gains.
** To be fair, he used his powers once to stop a pair of high schoolers from abusing horses and again to help a struggling street magician earn more money. The magician gave Hikaru some money, and he used it to buy donuts for the rest of the team. So, he's not that greedy.
* GroinAttack: At one point, when fighting the Yartots, he pulls one of them into a tree, hitting him in the crotch.
* KidAppealCharacter: Befittingly, Hikaru is the youngest of the group and usually tends to favor emotional responses, and sometimes his responses just shows inexperience.
* LeeroyJenkins: He often jumps into battle without even thinking about the dangers he and his team encounter.
* MissingMom: He lost his mother when he was a child.
* ThePrankster: He is prone to playing childish tricks on his fellow Gingamen.

[[caption-width-right:350:"Claws of Petals!"]]
The only female member of the Gingamen who has the Earth Power of Nature.
----
%%* MiniDressOfPower
* GiantWoman: Gets accidentally turned into one in one episode but immediately demands she be returned to normal.
* TheHeart: The sole female member of the Gingaman, with a soft sweet personality to go alongside.
* MegaNeko: Her Starbeast, [=Gingat=], is a huge wildcat.
* OneOfTheBoys: Saya is a tomboy, growing up and travelling with boys throughout the series. She can fight as well as the boys and wouldn't mind headlocking her friends (usually Ryouma) if they pissed her off.
* PetalPower: Her Earth Power revolves around flowers
* PluckyGirl: A defining factor of her and something of her life philosophy, Saya just refuses to give up and keeps smiling in the face of hardships because, after hardship, she can smile ''even bigger''.
* RunningGag: Out of all her focus episodes, only one episode does not involve a leg injury.
* SignatureMove
** Earth Elemental attack: ''Hanabira no Tsume''[[note]]Claws of Petals[[/note]]
** Starbeast Sword attack: ''Hana Isshin''[[note]]Flower Heart[[/note]]
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She is the only female member of the Gingamen.
* TheStraightAndArrowPath: Her Kiba Blade's default mode is the Kiba Arrow.
* SugarAndIceGirl: Saya pretty much had the right to cry on Hyūga's 'death', but she kept a strong face (without [[{{Tsundere}} going over to violence]]) throughout the series and refused to cry. But when Hyūga came back... she cries freely.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Saya is a sweet girl who likes to bake and enjoys being a feminine idol... all while putting men who pissed her off in a headlock and a bonafide ActionGirl.

[[folder:Hyūga/Black Knight II]]
!!Hyūga/Black Knight II | [-Actor: Teruaki Ogawa-]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vlcsnap_2018_09_10_23h33m43s169.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:"Black Strike!"]]
Ryouma's older brother and the one originally meant to be the next [=GingaRed=], unfortunately he fell into a fissure made by Captain Zahab before he could transform, passing the mantle to his younger brother before his seeming death. However he later turns up alive and merged with Bull Black, then becomes the new Black Knight supporting his younger brother and the other Gingamen in their quest to stop the Balban.
----
* BlackKnight: A literal example, though unlike Bull Black he doesn't plays any anti-heroic tropes himself, except during his brief time as [[spoiler:Bucrates' student]].
* CoolSword: His Bull Riot's standard mode is a sword, whether it is during the time he was set to be [=GingaRed=] or after he became the Black Knight.
* DarkIsNotEvil: His Black Knight form looks intimidating and is colored pitch black, yet Hyuuga is unambiguously and fully good unlike [=BullBlack=] who was more of a KnightTemplar.
* PlayingWithFire: As he was meant to be Ginga Red instead of Ryouma at the start of the series, his Earth Power revolves around fire.
* ReportsOfMyDeathWereGreatlyExaggerated: Thought to have died in the first episode after falling into a fissure, it was later revealed that Hyūga survived his fall thanks to Bull Black merging with him to escape from the pit.
* SignatureMove: ''Kuro no Ichigeki''[[note]]Black Strike[[/note]]
* SixthRanger: Joined the team long after it had already gotten five members, and after his base Bull Black, had already died. Though Sentai supplementary material treats him as an [[EleventhHourRanger Extra Hero]].
* SwissArmyWeapon: Bull Riot is his sword which is also his TransformationTrinket, and it also can become a gun if the sword is kept in its sheathe and adjusted.
[[/folder]]
!Allies

However, he hides a major secret within himself.
----
* AntiHero: Almost crosses into villainous territory, but [=BullBlack=] is firmly an enemy of Balban, who also starts out completely uncaring of Earth getting caught up and destroyed in the crossfire of his revenge quest
* HeroicSacrifice: He jumps into the Mt. Kongou crater to redeem himself.

* TogetherInDeath: Bull Black's sacrifice allows him to reunite with Krantz in the afterlife.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He's willing to exact revenge on the Balban for Krantz's death even if it means killing innocent humans in doing so.

[[folder:Haruhiko Aoyama]]
!!Haruhiko Aoyama | [-Actor: Yoshihiko Takamoku-]
Yuuta's father who serves as an ally of the Gingaman and one of their main bridges between their ancient tribe and the modern day.

* PictureBooks: He writes picture books for children, including Yuuta.
* TagalongChronicler: Once he invites the Gingamen to his home, he writes books about their journeys.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Yuuta Aoyama]]

A young child who befriends the Gingaman and serves as one of their closest friends and allies.
----
* SkepticNoLonger: At the beginning of the series, he disbelieves his father's notion that the Ginga Forest is alive until he sees the rebirth of the 133rd Gingamen for himself.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Bokku]]
!!Fairy Bokku | [-Voice Actor: Sanae Miyuki-]
A little acorn-based sprite also from the Ginga Forest who also serves as an ally to the Gingaman. He was the only guy to escape the Ginga Forest as it turned to stone, besides the Gingaman.
----
* ImageSong: "Bokku Bokku Boku Bokku" is a song about him and sung by him.
* VerbalTic: Ends majority of his sentences with "~bokku".
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Moak]]
!!Tree of Wisdom Moak | [-Voice Actor: Creator/RokuroNaya-]
A massive tree Bokku delivered to the Gingaman as a little seed. He can easily detect anything and thus, can alert the Gingaman of the Balban's activities.
----
* DeathIsCheap: [[spoiler:He gives his life absorbing the Earth Beast's effects to give the Gingaman a chance to defeat Mizziles and stop the rise of the Earth Beast as much as possible at the cost of his life in episode 48. He ends up turning back into a seed, which, at the end of the final episode, is replanted in the Ginga Forest, allowing him to quickly return to life.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:Episode 48 sees him absorb the Earth Beast's poisonous effects to give the Gingaman a better chance to defeat Mizziles and foil his plan to enlarge the beast, at the cost of his life. Yuuta later reveals the tree reverted back into a seed.]]
* MeaningfulName: His name is based on the Japanese word for wood, "moku". Fittingly, he's a tree and trees are lined with wood which line the trees' stems and branches.
* MissionControl: Serves as the Gingaman's guy (or tree) who alerts the team about the Balban's activities.

!Space Pirates Balban
[[folder:In General]]
A group of alien pirates who travel the cosmos to plunder and destroy worlds in their way. Commanding the fearsome Demon Beast Daitanix, they were sealed away 3000 years prior but rose back up after the seal was undone, though seeking to revive Daitanix who wasn't fully awakened.
----
* AliensAreBastards: Alien pirates who rejoice in blowing up worlds and killing innocents by the millions.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist:
** The [[Series/HimitsuSentaiGorenger Black Cross Army]] utilize one of their four commanders at a time, but the Black Cross are a Earth-based terrorist organization while the Barban are space pirates.
** The [[Series/ChikyuuSentaiFiveman Galactic Imperial Army Zone]] are an alien army that destroys worlds but are unaware that their base is a living creature seeking immortality, while the Balban are space pirates who plunder and destroy worlds and are fully aware that their base is a living creature they use to extend their lives. Both living ships are {{Kaiju}} who have rare flowers as a Main/KryptoniteFactor.
* EvilWillFail: Their deadliest flaw is their utter lack of cooperative thinking or foresight, leading to several failures due to members screwing over each other.
* RapePillageAndBurn: Minus the first part it's what they do best: assault planets by destroying and plundering all who stand in their way then destroying them with Daitanix who devours them.
* SpacePirates: They fit thematically and in actions the part, destroying and plundering anything that gets in their way and having certain codes they attempt to stick to as outlaws.
[[/folder]]

!!Leadership
[[folder:Captain Zahab]]
!!Captain Zahab | [-Actors: Jiro Okamoto (suit), Creator/HidekatsuShibata (voice)-]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zaha.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:"Luck has finally come to us"]]
The Captain of the Space Pirates Balban, he is a ruthless space pirate with ambitions to awaken Daitanix and use its power to create precious jewels and plunder the universe of every treasure he can get his hands on.
----
* AchillesHeel: [[spoiler:The Planet's Life that is embedded in his chest is both the key to his immortality and a weak spot that, if destroyed, can severely weaken him. Once Hyuuga and Ryouma destroy it, it leaves him open for the Gingaman to attack him and defeat him once and for all.]]
* BigBad: He leads the Balban gang in trying to conquer Earth.
* BenevolentBoss: Although he tries to be a BadBoss who hardly cared for any of his crews except Shelinda, he ''does'' care about his crewmates to the point where he mourns each and every loss and generally treats them fairly if they don't act treacherous or perform badly.
* EyepatchOfPower: He wears an eyepatch as part of his uniform.
* FinalBoss: [[spoiler:After his crewmates are killed, he becomes the last enemy the Gingamen have to defeat]].
* HiddenDepths:
** Despite his BadBoss attitude, he secretly mourns over the deaths of his fellow crewmates.
** While it looked like he fell for Iliess' plan to [[spoiler:frame Budoh]], he actually knew the whole time, showing he's very good at manipulating plots against him and his loyal comrades in order to turn the tables on real traitors.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: He pretends to be an arrogant captain who doesn't care about his crew. In private, he grieves for each loss.
* HookHand: He has an artificial left hook after losing his left hand 3,000 years ago courtesy of the first [=GingaRed=], which also serves as his RedRightHand.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: Had Battobas use [[spoiler:Iliess' soul]] to save Daitanix before [[spoiler:kicking Bucrates out of the castle for his involvement in her frame-up on Budoh]].
* PragmaticVillainy: Is fully aware that [[spoiler:Iliess and Bucrates set up Budoh for a fall]], but lets them think they succeeded until they outlive their usefulness in resurrecting Daitanix.
* RedRightHand: The battle with the first [=GingaRed=] ended with him losing his left hand caused him to replace his lost limb with a hook that can also become a cannon.
* VillainousBreakdown: Zahab snaps mentally and emotionally when [[spoiler:all of his crewmates, specifically Shelinda, are killed, going on an angry warpath against the Gingamen shortly afterward]].
* WouldHurtAChild: He's willing to kill Yuuta, a young child, by aiming a cannon at him. He also killed [=BullBlack's=] little brother, Krantz many years ago.

An old friend of Zahab, Gregory arrives months after the Balban are defeated to avenge the group against the Gingaman, along the way he teams with the last member of Nezirezia, Hizumina.
----
* AvengingTheVillain: Seeks to avenge the Balban's deaths at the Gingaman's hands.
* TheDreaded: Mokk recognizes the captain upon his arrival to Earth and states that he's got a fearsome reputation on par with the entirety of the other Balban members.
* SealedEvilInACan: Like the rest of Balban he was sealed away, though in his case he was sealed far away from Earth and separately from the other Balban members.
* {{Sizeshifter}}: He can enlarge himself without the need for Balban Extract unlike the rest of Balban.
* VillainousBreakdown: Loses it after the Balban are killed again and his castle is destroyed, being reduced to a mostly-screaming madman before he is finished off by Galaxy Mega and Super Armor Shine Gingaioh.
* VillainousFriendship: A strong and long-lasting one with Captain Zahab, who even refers to him as his honorary brother upon resurrecting.

!!Crewmates
[[folder:Steerwoman Shelinda]]
!!Steerwoman Shelinda | [-Actor: Kei Mizutani-]
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_43575_8.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:"Stop it Sambash! What would you do if the steering wheel broke?"]]
The steerwoman of Daitanix and Balban's subleader.
----
* AnimalMotif: Shellfish.
* TheBaroness: While not her main forte, she won't hesitate to use her good looks to her advantage such as seducing others.
* BareHandedBladeBlock: She can easily stop swords with her hand alone, such as when she stopped Hayate's slash with just a simple catch. That said, she is wearing gloves.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Became determined to fight Hayate due to him always ignoring her, making her feel insulted. [[spoiler:After using a duplicate of Hayate's fiancee, she finally managed to get his attention. Their fated battle results in her fiery demise]].
* BloodKnight: She lives for fighting and destruction, her rivalry with [=GingaGreen=] is driven by a desire to best him in swordfighting and she won't be done with it until either he or she dies.
* ChainmailBikini: Literally. There seems to be a justification that she specialized in fast and continuous attack so the lighter/fewer the armor the better. Still don't explain the high heels though.
* CombatStiletto: Her stilettos aren't just for show, she can use them to kick her opponents' asses as much as her sword can. Ask [=GingaGreen=] for that.
* DarkActionGirl: She's a villainous general who take pride in being a swordswoman, living for fighting and destruction, or trying to get Hayate to genuinely engage her in combat.
* DefeatEqualsExplosion: [[spoiler:She exploded after her rival [=GingaGreen=] defeated her for good. One of the rare instances in ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' where a humanoid character, let alone a female one, went kaboom.]]
* DefiantToTheEnd: [[spoiler:Even after getting fatally slashed by [=GingaGreen=], she still tried to kill him and claiming that she is still capable of fighting.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: She genuinely loved Budoh even if she acted cold towards him, and was distraught when it seemed like he was a traitor to Balban, even sounding tearful as she locked him up. [[spoiler:In return, long after learning the truth she personally attempts to kill Bucrates after she finds him following him getting kicked out of Balban, clearly wanting to get payback for Budoh's unnecessary death and only gets stopped by Hyuuga saving Bucrates at the last minute]].
* {{Expy}}:
** Arguably, [[Series/DengekiSentaiChangeman Queen Ahames]] in terms of appearance, as both are white-haired woman with attractive designs and who specialize in swordfigthing.
** Also [[Series/HikariSentaiMaskman Igam]] in her obsession to kill a male member of a Super Sentai team due to viewing them as their rivals. However, while Igam redeemed herself to aid the Maskmen in destroying Zeba and became a devoted Buddhist nun as part of her journey, Shelinda remained evil to the end and died at Hayate's hand in their last duel.
* FragileSpeedster: She's fast and skilled, but [[spoiler:Hayate ultimately does her in with one charged slash]].
* ItsPersonal: Developed an intense vendetta towards Hayate after he scarred her arms.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "The Name is Shelinda".
* ManipulativeBitch: Created a duplicate of Miharu from Hayate's talisman to make a complex plot to make him suffer for not recognizing her as an opponent.
* MeaningfulName: Sheru (Shell) and Darin (Helmsman). The "Linda" part is also thought to be from a famous Japanese Singer "Linda Yamamoto". Just listen to her ImageSong and you will know why.
* ScarsAreForever: Her arm scar (from Hayate slashing at her in Episode 10) does eventually heal but [[spoiler:her breast scar (which Hayate inflicted on her for seemingly killing Yuuta) doesn't.]]
* SeashellBra: While not the exact, it's as good as one in term of design, having shell motifs all over it. It got permanently damaged after Hayate [[BreastAttack slashed her breast]].
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Probably the best example in the franchise ''entire history'', given she wears an actual ChainmailBikini that bares her midriff and gives us the occasional PantyShot.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: She occasionally heads to the field to kill Hayate before he is killed by whatever her Balban comrades infected him with. The fact that she has a vendetta against him also makes defeating Hayate all by herself her top priority.
* UnknownRival: Hayate usually ignores her attempts to goad him to fight with him, pissing her off to no end. After her act of using a clone of Miharu, Hayate ''finally'' reciprocates and then fights her for real... and then the battle got interrupted. [[spoiler:In the penultimate episode, they have one last battle, where she finally met her explosive end via his Hurricane Gust slash despite getting the last hit in for some sense of closure.]]
* WouldHurtAChild: Almost killed Yuuta for attempting to help a wounded Hayate and getting in her way.

[[folder:Barreled Scholar Bucrates]]
!!Barreled Scholar Bucrates | [-Actors: Kenjiro Fujita (suit), Creator/{{Chafurin}} (voice)-]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kegler_12_0.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:"Who will grant you wisdom if I die?"]]
The Balban's wisdom supplier and Zahab's mentor who taught him a lot of important secrets. Bucrates is a goblin-like creature who can shapeshift into a barrel to hide, he is also Illiess' uncle. [[spoiler:A series of events leads to him switching sides to get revenge on Zahab.]]
----
* BenevolentBoss: He treats [[spoiler:Hyuuga]] as a true friend when he becomes his mentor.
* DeathByIrony: [[spoiler:His first lines of dialogue were berating Shelinda for poking him with her sword to wake him up, ranting about how the Balban would lose their source of wisdom if he died; Shelinda mortally wounds him near the finale by stabbing him, long after he'd been kicked out of Balban.]]
* {{Determinator}}: He does everything he can to [[spoiler:exact revenge on Zahab.]] To the point where [[spoiler:he pulls himself out of the bottom of the ocean, removing the chains holding him, he captures [=GouTaurus=] as a hostage to get Hyuuga under his tutelage by force, has Hyuuga remove his Earth Power and train him with the Knight Axe to exploit Zahab's weakness, and even being fatally stabbed by Shelinda doesn't deters him as he uses his last moments to commit suicide to take out the Yartots hunting him down, just so Hyuuga can rejoin his friends and kill Zahab]].
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler:He flees with Hyuuga when he gets fatally stabbed by Shelinda, keeping himself alive just so he can ensure Hyuuga is safe. Then, he asks Hyuuga to escape and rejoin his friends, even showing him a bomb so Hyuuga won't try to stay and save him. When the Yartots find him, Bucrates pulls out the bomb just in time to blow himself and the Yartots up]].
* EvilIsPetty: His main reason for helping Illiess' plot to [[spoiler:frame Budoh]] is due to him being [[spoiler:angry at Budoh rejecting his wisdom unlike Sambash]].
* EvilOldFolks: An old man who's helped the Balban in their many plots and evil actions.
* HeelFaceDoorSlam: [[spoiler:Out of hatred, he helps Hyuuga kill Zahab, but dies at the Yartots' hands before he can do so]].
* InsufferableGenius: Not initially that bad about it, but he lets his role as the Balban's wisest member get up to his head, culminating in [[spoiler:plotting against Budoh solely because he dared to reject his wisdom instead of listening to him]].
* ItsPersonal: [[spoiler:After Zahab forces him out of Balban, Bucrates decides to exact revenge on Zahab]].
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler:Slight case. Shelinda, who was personally afflicted by what Bucrates and Illiess did to Budoh, gets to fatally stab him near the finale, while Bucrates only dies for good when he blows himself up to cover for Hyuuga's escape, it was clear from his attitude that he knew he was dying anyways even if he had made it out from the attack]].
* MadeOfIron: [[spoiler:He survived getting drowned by Zahab after his attempts to usurp him are exposed.]]
* MentorArchetype: He served as Zahab's mentor and is the one who revived him. Later, he becomes [[spoiler:Hyuuga]]'s mentor after [[spoiler:Zahab sends him into the water for trying to backstab him]].
* MentorOccupationalHazard: After training [[spoiler:Hyuuga]], he decides to [[spoiler:sacrifice himself when he's discovered by the Yartots and Shelinda]].
* {{Nepotism}}: Freely admits to having wanted to elevate Illiess to the acting commander position from the start when Budoh starts coming close to finding the Lights of Ginga and willingly sabotages his own side's efforts just so she would become it.
* NoHistoricalFiguresWereHarmed: Part of his name comes from the Greek philosopher Socrates.

A second member of Daitanix's species that belonged to Captain Gregory and was even stronger than the original. It was crucial to Gregory's plans. After absorbing enough energy from Earth and awakening following Hizumina's defeat it evolves into a second, stronger form. It joins its master in fighting both the Gingaman and Megaranger.
----
* DiabolusExMachina: There aren't many hints within the show to this beast's existence and it mostly appears to give Gregory an edge over the Gingaman since they lose [=GigaRhinos=] and [=GigaPhoenix=] to it.
* HeroKiller: An indirect example. It is powerful enough to force [=GigaRhinos=] and [=GigaPhoenix=] to sacrifice themselves just to temporarily take it out.
* InformedAbility: It's supposedly stronger than either Daitanix or the Earth Demon Beast, yet both monsters took virtually all of the Gingaman's Starbeasts bum rushing them without rest to be defeated and while it survived [=GigaRhinos=]' and [=GigaPhoenix=]'s sacrifice attacks it was wounded enough to need to go into hiding and absorb Earth Power to grow stronger; and while its supposedly stronger second form can easily take on Galaxy Mega alone it in turn gets easily destroyed when [=BullTaurus=] and [=GingaiOh=] join in to assist it, without the need for the Gingaman to hit a weakspot like Daitanix or focus all their might in one super attack, and with Gregory's backup on top of it.
* PaletteSwap: Is essentially a red Daitanix in its first form. Its evolved form downplays it as while it is essentially a blue-colored Daitanix first and foremost, it also has a metallic armor, shoulder spikes and a larger nose horn.

* GodzillaThreshold: The Balban Extract grows them to giant size and gives them a massive power boost, but it comes with the catch of shortening their lifespans, thus making it a last resort that they don't use unless they have no other choice.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Each faction has their own musical sting for when their members use Balban Extract.
* MakeMyMonsterGrow: When cornered, a Majin will pull out a flask and drink Balban Extract to grow into a giant. However, it cuts the user's lifespan in half, hence why they do not use it when the battle begins.
* WeAreStrugglingTogether: The reason they lost to the first group of Gingaman was due to constant infighting among the four groups. When they are revived in the present day, Zahab insists upon only one group acting at a time in order to prevent this. It only works for a while before the infighting resumes in subtler ways.
