ScrappedPrincess Characters (and Spoilers) below.

Still a work in progress.

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:The Casulls]]

!Pacifica Casull
!!Voiced by: Creator/FumikoOrikasa (JP), Creator/KariWahlgren (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pacificacasull_5495.jpg

The Scrapped Princess. She travels with her adopted brother and sister who try to keep her safe from followers of Mauser. She has never known her real parents, and even her name was given to her by her adopted parents.

----
* AllLovingHero: She doesn't like the idea of ''anyone'' dying on her account, even the people trying to kill her. Case in point: [[spoiler:when she tells Celia that she would prefer it if the world was returned to normal after 5000 years, Celia dies, and Pacifica immediately tries to take it back. That's how nice she is.]]
* ApocalypseMaiden: It's to be expected when you're called "The Poison that will Destroy the World".
* [[spoiler:BackFromTheDead: After being killed by her twin brother, Prince Forsyth, and coming face-to-face with their god, Celia Mauser.]]
* BigEater: Yet, often complains it's never enough.
* BrattyHalfPint: Mainly toward Shannon, who she often calls 'a grumpy old man', but she loves him.
* BreakTheCutie: Already covered on the main page, but still, do they ever; especially near the end.
* DeadlyHug: [[spoiler:From her brother, [[NiceGuy of all people]]!]]
* [[spoiler:DeathActivatedSuperpower: Think her death would prevent TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt? Think again: her death is actually ''required'' to activate her powers. A ''premature'' death would cause her powers to activate before they were strong enough, however, so if she had been killed earlier in her life, nothing would have really happened.]]
* FacialCompositeFailure: Nobody can seem to draw her face right. Ever.
* [[spoiler:DisappearsIntoLight: Immediately following her death.]]
* GenkiGirl: To say the rest of the world wants her dead, including their god.
* HappilyAdopted: As far as Pacifica is concerned, the Casulls are her family.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: It's not exactly fun WalkingTheEarth when everyone wants to kill you.
* InnocentBlueEyes
* LethalChef: Pacifica loves and loves to consume, but the stuff that she produces is... well.
-->'''Sutton:''' Her poison's going to destroy my stomach before it destroys the world.
* OjouRinglets: Her sideburns, specifically.
* PluckyGirl: In spite of all the hardships, and near constant death attempts, she continues to try and see the good in the people she meets. Shannon notes this himself, as does Sir Doyle after meeting her.
-->'''Shannon: (to Raquel)''' "That girl is stronger than ''both'' of us."
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Eggs. If the prophecy doesn't get her, the cholesterol will.
* ZettaiRyouiki: She wears a miniskirt and a pair of blue thigh highs that reach halfway above her knees, so she's a Grade A.

!Shannon Casull
!!Voiced by: Creator/ShinichiroMiki (JP), Creator/CrispinFreeman (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shannoncasull_4289.jpg

The middle child of the Casull family after Pacifica was adopted. He is a skilled swordsman who has sworn to defend Pacifica's life no matter what.

----
* {{Badass}}
* BigBrotherInstinct: Turns out [[spoiler:he's genetically engineered this way]]. Those who threaten Pacifica really hammer his BerserkButton.
* CloseCallHairCut: He gets these twice: Chris cuts off a little bit of his hair in Episode 1 to show that he's not just some flunky, and Senes cuts off a bunch in Episode 11 to show that she's actually giving Shannon a fight.
* DeadpanSnarker: He's voiced by [[Creator/CrispinFreeman the guy]] who does [[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya Kyon]] and [[LightNovel/{{Slayers}} Zelgadis]], is it really any surprise?
* DeclarationOfProtection: The man said he wanted power enough to smash fate, even if it meant defying Mauser [[spoiler:[[GenderMisdirection herself]]]] in order to protect his sister. You better believe he meant it. Every word.
* {{Determinator}}: The entire world wants to kill his little sister? The entire world's going through him, first. Good luck with that, world.
* FlashStep: Used against Chris, at the end of their duel.
* IllKillYou: [[spoiler:After Pacifica is stabbed,]] he growls, "I'm going to ''kill'' you!" at Socom.
* ManlyTears: After the conclusion of the final battle with the Peacemakers... when he returns to Raquel with their sister [[spoiler: BackFromTheDead]] in his arms. He tries to contain them, but the realization of just how close they came to losing her causes the dam to break.
* OnlyTheChosenMayWield: Is this to [[EmpathicWeapon Zefiris]], who appoints Shannon as her Master. Thus, granting him the powers of a D-Knight.
* PerpetualFrowner: Shannon's default expression, usually with deadpan eyes.
* ScrewDestiny: "How can I give a ''DAMN'' about a world that won't tolerate the existence of my little sister?!" Shannon's thoughts on [[BecauseDestinySaysSo Grendel's prophecy]], in a nutshell.
* ShipTease: He gets some with Cz. (Episode 18)
* UnstoppableRage: [[spoiler:After Pacifica is stabbed,]] he goes into a {{Tranquil|Fury}}, yet very obviously berserk rage and stops at nothing to kill the Peacemakers who set the whole thing up.
* WellExcuseMePrincess: Expect to hear, "Now look, Missy", at least once every other episode.

!Raquel Casull
!!Voiced by: Creator/SayakaOhara (JP), Creator/BridgetHoffman (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raquel_2173.jpg

The oldest of the Casull children. She is a powerful magic-user and able to cast spells faster than many others. Raquel would rather use her powers to help more than to kill. She has assumed a motherly role in the family and always maintains a calm, kind attitude.

----
* {{Badass}}: She's just as powerful as Shannon is without his D-Knight powers, if not more.
* BarrierWarrior: Her defensive spells are as potent as her offensive ones. In fact, she can even use them to attack: she came ''that'' close to killing Kuidarf by crushing him between her barrier and a wall.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She's one of the most unambiguously nice characters in the series, yet if you threaten her sister, she won't show you any mercy. She almost killed Kuidarf by crushing him with a barrier because he refused to give her the antidote for the poison he had just used on Pacifica.
* BoobsOfSteel: She's got a sizeable chest and she's the most powerful human mage in existence.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: She blew up ''an entire church'' without losing her calm demeanor. Her response when Shannon chewed her out for it? "Oopsie."
* CoolBigSis: To Pacifica, naturally.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Picture [[RanmaOneHalf Kasumi Tendo]] as a mage, albeit a bit CloserToEarth, and you've basically got Raquel.
* DissonantSerenity: She loses her cool all of once in the entire series. All other times, she has a cheerful, somewhat scatterbrained smile.
* FanserviceWithASmile: Raquel used a subdued form of this in Episode 3. She was only wearing a normal dress that showed off a bit of cleavage and leg, not a Hooters uniform, and though it did show some leg, the skirt wasn't even all that short, but Raquel still used the fact that she was an attractive woman to sell some buns when the store's mascot was driving customers away with its appearance.
* HeroicBSOD: She has a heartwrenching one when Prince Forsythe stabs Pacifica, then himself, to death. After doing everything she can to stop Pacifica's bleeding and failing, she even tries begging Mauser to forgive her little sister and save her. Pacifica still dies, and Raquel just loses it. [[WideEyesAndShrunkenIrises Her eyes widen]], and she just sits there holding her sister in her arms with [[ThousandYardStare a blank look on her face]].
* LethalChef: Only when she uses [[MundaneUtility her spells]] for cooking. Otherwise, her food's fine.
* LittleNo: Raquel lets out an absolutely heartbreaking one when she finally realizes that [[spoiler:Pacifica is dead]]. It's just a disbelieving whisper before she screams at Mauser.
-->'''Raquel:''' "No...! ...Why? WHYYY?"
* MagicMisfire: Is prone to this 25% of the time, with [[HilarityEnsues hilarious results]].
* OvershadowedByAwesome: Her magic is undeniably strong, but it pales in comparison to Shannon's ability as a D-Knight.
* PerpetualSmiler: Raquel is always smiling. Always.
** OOCIsSeriousBusiness: The fact that she starts crying when [[spoiler:Pacifica is stabbed]] is how you know how badly it's shaken her.
* ThePollyanna[=/=]PluckyGirl: She's eternally optimistic, even with the harsh life that's been thrust upon her family.
* SillyMeGesture: Whenever she does something stupid, like blow up an entire temple with a single spell.
-->"Oopsie~"
* SmarterThanYouLook: She comes across as a useless [[TheDitz Ditz]] at first, but she's much smarter than she seems and she's an extremely powerful mage.
* SmiteMeOMightySmiter: [[spoiler:When Pacifica dies,]] Raquel just screams at Mauser, asking why she had to die.
* TeamMom: More toward Pacifica than Shannon; still, ''even he'' needs [[ManlyTears a shoulder to cry on]] now and then.
* TenderTears: Near the end of the final episode, when Shannon returns from battling the Peacemakers, with Pacifica [[spoiler:BackFromTheDead]] in his arms.
* ThousandYardStare: [[spoiler:After Pacifica dies,]] Raquel just holds her in her arms and stares at nothing in the distance.

!Leopold Scorpos
!!Voiced by: Creator/TakashiKondo (JP), Creator/YuriLowenthal (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leopold_skorpus_1364.jpg

The first son of Duke Scorpos and heir to his father's territory. He has high aspirations of becoming a great and noble knight, rescuing damsels in distress and bringing righteous justice to the world at large. Unfortunately, Leo has a long way to go in order to obtain his goals.

----
* {{Adorkable}}: Seriously. You should see some of his come ons, like his speech to Pacifica, after learning she's the Scrapped Princess:
-->'''Leo: (solemnly)''' "Ms. Pacifica, I still don't fully understand all of this. Honor... chivalry... I must find what they mean, for myself. When I do, it could mean I'll be your enemy. Until then, please... wait for my return."
-->('''falls to one knee, takes Pacifica's hand, and kisses it''')
-->'''Pacifica: ([[LuminescentBlush blush]])''' [[StunnedSilence "...!"]]
-->'''Shannon:''' rolls eyes as if to say, 'Oh please.'
* {{BFS}}: His sword is almost as big as he is.
* DoggedNiceGuy: Try as he might to win her over, Leo [[DidNotGetTheGirl never gets anywhere]] with Pacifica. Though the ending provides [[MaybeEverAfter a slight glimmer of a hope]] that it may change.
* DorkKnight: Leo has idealistic views of "justice" and "chivalry", in the beginning. [[spoiler: Those views get crushed after meeting Sir Doyle, and upon learning who Pacifica ''really'' is.]]
* FailureKnight: Is left feeling this way for much of the series.
** First, for failing to protect Pacifica, who was [[TouchOfDeath stung]] by one of Kuidarf's [=BUGs=], after he swore to her that he would.
** He failed to prevent her capture after the vow he made to Furet, who had [[spoiler:[[HeroicSacrifice sacrificed himself]]]] so Leo and Pacifica could escape.
** And finally, [[spoiler:failing to prevent Prince Forsythe from killing her, right in front of him, and worse, being the one to convince Pacifica to meet with her brother in the first place]].
* HeroicBSOD: Leo goes through two of them. He has his first one after learning Pacifica is the Scrapped Princess, and the second when [[spoiler:her twin brother, Prince Forsyth, [[DeadlyHug kills her!]]]]
* HeroicWannabe: Leo isn't much of a knight. Mostly because he's self-taught since no one's taken the time to train him.
* IGaveMyWord: One of the reasons he took Pacifica's capture so hard was because he promised [[spoiler:the now-dead Furet]] that he would protect her always.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Reluctantly adopts this attitude when it becomes clear to him that Pacifica was happy [[spoiler: as an amnesiac]] living with Furet.
* LoveAtFirstSight: Not exactly ''first'', but it was close. He even cops to it when Shannon asks him why he likes Pacifica so much. It's not just a crush, though, and he's genuinely in love with her.
* MaybeEverAfter: The ending of the final episode leaves it [[WillTheyOrWontThey really unclear]] whether he has a real shot with Pacifica or not. But if the way she chews him out and her blush afterward, when he tries to apologize, are anything to go by...
* TookALevelInBadass: Lampshaded by Winia:
-->"Wow, Leo sounded like a man."

!Winia Chester
!!Voiced by: Creator/AyakoKawasumi (JP), Creator/MichelleRuff (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/winia_2084.jpg

Winia Chester is an introverted and lonesome inn-maid, taken in and raised by her uncle out of pity for her after her parents died. She spends time with and becomes friends with Pacifica.

----
* DarkSkinnedRedhead
* DamselInDistress: Chris kidnaps her, to use as bait to draw Shannon into a duel.
* FormFittingWardrobe: Should it be possible for a loose fitting shirt to conform so snuggly to her breasts?
* HappilyMarried: To Christopher, in the epilogue.
* ShrinkingViolet: She's painfully withdrawn. According to her uncle, he'd never seen her so much as smile, since taking her in to live with him. So he was surprised to see her open up to Pacifica.
* StockholmSyndrome: She hits all the points for a textbook case: she's kidnapped by Christopher and threatened with death if Shannon didn't show up. Christopher letting her leave after Shannon defeated him, coupled with the former revealing a little bit about his life to her and giving them common ground, led to her falling in love with him. It helps that at his worst, Christopher was a [[NobleDemon noble Anti-Villain]] who bore her no real ill will, and he lightened up to both her and the Casulls considerably after the Peacemaker attack on Taurus.
* TrainStationGoodbye: [[HeartwarmingMoments From Winia to Pacifica]], when she and her siblings are forced to leave Taurus. Borders on being a TearJerker.

!Princess Senes Lur Giat
!!Voiced by: YukiMatsuoka (JP), Creator/WendeeLee (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seness_8065.jpg

A Princess of the Giat Empire, one who is despised by her own family. She has her own unit called Scarlet.

----
* [[AFatherToHisMen A Mother to her Men]]: She will not tolerate it when her men are killed, and one of her biggest motivations later in the series is revenge for their deaths.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Her relationship with Eirote is... suggestive. The two of them are extremely close, and while Eirote is extremely devoted to Senes, she's also Senes' only real friend.
-->'''Senes:''' Good work, Eirote, I feel better now that you're here.
* BadassPrincess: Aside from the Peacemakers, she gave Shannon the most trouble he's ever had in a fight.
* {{Bifauxnen}}: A downplayed example, in that despite being obviously female, she still has short hair and a rather masculine figure.
* BigDamnHeroes: When Shannon is left to fight against the three Peacemakers alone, [[spoiler:Senes and two of her subordinates show up in Gigantes, weaker versions of Dragoons that lack artificial intelligences. It's enough to even up the fight.]]
** In that same battle, [[spoiler:after the Gigantes were momentarily incapacitated, Shannon was defeated by the combined powers of the three Peacemakers, and was being finished off by Steyr. Then the Gigantes teleport behind her and impale her through the skull with all three of their energy spears, killing her and forcing the other two Peacemakers to withdraw.]]
* BladeOnAStick: [[spoiler:She and her two subordinates pilot Gigantes which wield energy spears.]]
* GroinAttack: It's not successful, and maybe it's just the camera angle, but at one point in her fight with Shannon, her blade thrust directly at his junk.
* HairTriggerTemper: It usually doesn't take much to set her off, especially if your name is Pacifica Casull.
* ItsPersonal: She despises Steyr for killing her men.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She's abrasive and aggressive, but she's a good friend and she cares deeply for her subordinates.
* MagicKnight: Though it doesn't come up much given how she spends most of the later series fighting in a Gigante, but she is skilled in both swordsmanship ''and'' magic.
* NoIndoorVoice: In fact, sometimes she'll scream for her aide Eirote, even when the woman is standing right behind her.
* RedBaron: She's called "the Beast Princess."
* RedOniBlueOni: She's the Red to Eirote's Blue.
* RunningGag: Related to NoIndoorVoice above. Several times during the Gigantes' preparation process, Senes would shout Eirote's name, only for her aide to calmly respond from directly behind her.
* SlasherSmile: She wears one briefly during her fight with Shannon.
* ThatCameOutWrong: Senes ''really'' should've chosen a better way to phrase her intentions of getting Shannon to join her army.
-->'''Senes:''' (smirks, drawing sword) "I want you, Shannon, and I intend to have you."
-->'''Raquel:''' (gasps and covers mouth in surprise) "My! How forward!"
* VitriolicBestBuds: She has this going with Pacifica, and to a lesser extent, Shannon.
* WorthyOpponent: She begins to greatly respect Shannon after he defeated her in a duel.

!Eirote Borchard
!!Voiced by: Creator/OmiMinami (JP), Creator/LiaSargent (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eirote_4352.jpg

Senes' right hand woman.

----
* HypercompetentSidekick: The only thing Senes is actually good at is fighting and commanding soldiers in battle. Eirote handles everything else.
* TheLancer: She's the calm, intellectual NumberTwo to the HotBlooded [[BadassPrincess Princess Senes]].
* NumberTwo: To Princess Senes. Her official rank is actually second in command of Scarlet.
* RedOniBlueOni: She's the Blue to Senes' Red. She's often the only thing keeping Senes from going berserk.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Princess Senes.

!Furet/Wraith
!!Voiced by: Creator/KatsuyukiKonishi (JP), Creator/LiamOBrien (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/furet_1989.jpg

----
* AttractiveBentGender: Played for laughs, but Pacifica and Winia seem to think he's cute.
* {{Badass}}: He's not as balls-out powerful as Shannon, but he comes close.
* {{Bishonen}}
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:He spent three years as a member of the Blackhawks, Leinwan's espionage, sabotage, and assassination corps, and he has a lot of blood on his hands.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Pacifica seems to bring this behaviour out of him.
-->(To Pacifica, who plays a horse in a stage production) "Have fun playing a horse's ass."
* {{Determinator}}: [[spoiler:Even with several arrows in him, he still continued to fight, and despite having at least six in him, he still forced himself to crawl after Pacifica until he finally died.]]
* [[spoiler:DyingAlone: He died alone, filled with arrows, in the middle of a street in the rain.]]
* [[spoiler:FamousLastWords: As he tries and fails to follow Pacifica, he mutters, "God... ''damn it''!"]]
* [[spoiler:HeroicSacrifice: He stayed behind to distract the royal soldiers chasing them and let Leo escape with horses for Pacifica and Winia.]]
** [[spoiler:SenselessSacrifice: Unfortunately, soon after he sacrifices himself, The Obstinate Arrows find and arrest Pacifica anyway. Even worse, Pacifica forgets Furet when she regains her memory, so he isn't even remembered by the woman he died for.]]
* ItsPronouncedTroPay: His name is pronounced in french: fyurr-EH.
* ReplacementGoldfish: Strongly implied that the reason Pacifica likes him is because of his resemblance to Shannon.
* ThatManIsDead: This is his opinion of Wraith.
* YouShallNotPass: See HeroicSacrifice.

!Kuidarf the Silencer
!!Voiced by: Creator/DaisukeOno (JP), Creator/DougErholtz (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kuidarf_5317.jpg

----
* {{Bishonen}}[=/=]LongHairedPrettyBoy
* ItsPronouncedTropay: His name is pronounced "KEY-darf".
* PreAsskickingOneLiner: He tells some royal soldiers, "You'll die if they sting you, so please be careful." right as he sics his [=BUGs=] on them.

!Berkens
!!Voiced by: Masahiko Tanaka (JP), Creator/BobPapenbrook (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/berkens_7186.jpg

An inquisitor of the church of Mauser, he's surprisingly open-minded given his job description.

----
* GoodShepherd: He's the kind of man you want in charge of your local church. The guy even became an inquisitor so that he would have an excuse to find heretics and be able to look out for them.
* ParentalSubstitute: He greatly resembles the Casull's parents, and because of this and his genuinely kind personallity, Pacifica and Raquel, and Shannon, to a lesser extent, see him as a sort of substitute father figure after their real father dies. They even call him "Pops".

!Sir Doyle Barrett
!!Voiced by: Tetsuo Kanao (JP), Creator/KirkThornton (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/doyle_4690.jpg

----
* TheAtoner: He was the one who threw Pacifica into the ravine where she should have died. Realizing that he had just (supposedly) murdered an innocent child caused him to spend the next fifteen years trying to atone for what he had done by becoming a doctor who would only ever heal people, not kill them, and he finally got the chance to pay Pacifica back for trying to kill her by saving her life when she was poisoned by Kuidarf.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Obstinate Arrows]]

!The Obstinate Arrows
A Special Operations unit of Leinwan's royal army. The five of them are orphans who were taken in and raised by Baroness Bairach and trained to be elite soldiers and assassins. As such, despite being quite young, they five of them make up one of the most efficient and dangerous fighting forces in Leinwan.

----
* AntiVillain[=/=][[spoiler:AntiHero]]: As villains, they were honourable [[PunchClockVillain soldiers doing their jobs]] and who bore Pacifica no real malice, and who even began questioning the need to kill an innocent girl. [[spoiler:After they switch sides, they have none of Shannon's or Raquel's opposition to killing, and cut down platoons of royal soldiers.]]
* BadassCrew: While none of them were at Shannon's level even before he became a D-Knight, all of them can take care of themselves. Fafal, Jill, Sutton, and Dennis held off a large detachment of the royal army with only Kuidarf to help out.
* {{Child Soldier}}s: The five of them were taken in along with countless other orphans and subjected to [[TrainingFromHell horribly brutal training]]. As it is, they're all in and around fifteen years old, about Pacifica's age, and they've been active soldiers for years.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: See {{Child Soldier}}s.
* FiveManBand:
** TheLeader: Christopher
** TheLancer: Fafal
** TheBigGuy: Dennis
** {{The Smart G|uy}}irl: Jillian
** TheChick: Sutton
* [[spoiler:HeelFaceTurn: Though they were just soldiers doing their jobs at worst, as the series goes on they start to agree with Christopher's views on the Scrapped Princess more and more until finally they defect alongside him and take it upon themselves to help the Casulls and Princess Senes protect Pacifica.]]
* ImprobableAge: They're about fifteen years old and already some of the most skilled and experienced soldiers in the army.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: The five of them are pretty badass, but they're overshadowed by Raquel's magic, Senes' Gigantes, and especially Shannon's D-Knight abilities.
* TrainingFromHell: Though Baroness Bairach looked out for the children, she wasn't always in charge. Before she took the reins, the Obstinate Arrows children were forced through brutal training regimens that killed most of them, and there were even battle royales to help weed out the weak faster. By the time it was over, only the five of them were left from an original class of hundreds.
* TrueCompanions: Thanks to growing up together, the five Obstinate Arrows are extremely close, and they become a looser version of this to the Casulls as well.
* TykeBomb: The Obstinate Arrows were raised by Baroness Bairach as her own children, and despite being trained to kill, they weren't abused by her. They're not exactly well adjusted, though, as none of them have any problems with killing and at one point, Chris comments that he doesn't even know how to cry anymore.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Christopher. They are willing to follow him anywhere, even if it means their unit being disbanded. [[spoiler:Even if they ''didn't'' agree with him about Pacifica, they would have followed him when he switched to her side.]]

!Christopher Armalite/Bairach
!!Voiced by: Creator/TakahiroMizushima (JP), Creator/SteveStaley (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/christopher_4868.jpg

The leader of The Obstinate Arrows.

----
* AllEncompassingMantle: His cape is one of these.
* AnAxeToGrind: Combined with FightingWithChucks, as the grip can separate into three connected sections.
* AntiVillain: He's an honourable soldier who begins to question the need to kill a kind girl like Pacifica, even if she ''is'' the Scrapped Princess, because he can't see her as anything but an innocent girl. [[spoiler:He eventually comes to perform a HeelFaceTurn.]]
* {{Badass}}: Sure, he's not as strong as Shannon, but he can handle himself. In fact, the only ones who gave Shannon more trouble than him were Princess Senes and the Peacemakers.
** BadassNormal: He doesn't have magic, or Shannon's powers as a D-Knight, but he's still pretty {{badass}}.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:He rescues Pacifica from prison when she's about to be killed.]]
* {{Bishonen}}
* [[spoiler:DefectorFromDecadence: He grows more and more disillusioned with the military, an organization which is actively trying to murder an innocent fifteen-year-old girl, and he finally defects, and he takes his team with him.]]
* GoodFeelsGood: [[spoiler:Being able to help Pacifica, not because he's been ordered to, but because he wants to help her, makes him genuinely happy with his life for once.]]
* HappilyMarried: To Winia, in the epilogue.
* [[spoiler:HeelFaceTurn: He breaks Pacifica out of prison in Episode 21, and from there he continues to fight on their side.]]
* ImprobableAge: He's quite young to be the leader of an elite army unit.
* ItsNotYouItsMyEnemies: He kept Winia at a distance when she went to the capital city Sauer to see him because he didn't want to get her involved with the armies search for the Scrapped Princess, as it was dangerous.
* NotSoDifferent: His revelation that he's an orphan just like Winia is one of the reasons why she starts to fall in love with him. Although in the anime, he left out how much worse his childhood was compared to hers
* ParentalSubstitute: Baroness Bairach is this to him.
* PetTheDog: The first hint we get that Christopher isn't that bad is when he drapes his cape over his hostage Winia's shoulders when she starts shivering. He promptly tells her that [[{{Tsundere}} he only did it because]] [[IWasJustPassingThrough a dead hostage is a useless hostage]].
* PrepareToDie: When he attacks Pacifica in the first episode, he merely says, "Please die now."

!Fafal Armalite
!!Voiced by: Creator/NatsukoKuwatani (JP), Creator/KarenStrassman (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fafal_7013.jpg

An Obstinate Arrow, and a friend of Christopher's.

----
* ActionGirl: She's an Obstinate Arrow, and she earned her place there. At the beginning of Episode 23, she and Chris annihilate an entire platoon of royal soldiers by themselves.
* AntiVillain: She's just a soldier doing her job, and she has no real malice towards Pacifica.
* CollaredByFashion
* CoolBigSis: She seems to be a minor one to Chris.
* {{Idiot Ha|ir}}[[HairAntennae ir Antennae]]: She has a pair of Ahoges, but they're not quite long enough to be or shaped like normal HairAntennae.
* DangerouslyShortSkirt
* EyelidPullTaunt: Her reaction to being called "worthless rebel scum" is to stick her tongue out at the person who called her that.
* {{Fingerless|Gloves}} OperaGloves: She wears fingerless gloves that go all the way up to the shoulder.
* GenkiGirl: She can be oddly energetic at times. At one point, she had [[BladeLock locked blades]] with Sley. [[spoiler:When he called her, "[[YouRebelScum worthless rebel scum]]"]], her only reaction was to stick her tongue out at him.
* KnifeNut: Her WeaponOfChoice is a long punch knife.
* TheLancer[=/=]NumberTwo: To Christopher. She takes over when he's not around.
* NiceGirl: As far as the Obstinate Arrows go, she's the nicest one of them.
* RapunzelHair: Her hair goes down past her waist.
* UndyingLoyalty: Like the rest of the Obstinate Arrows, she is unflinchingly loyal to Christopher.
* ZettaiRyouiki: Her miniskirt and stockings give her a Grade A.

!Jillian Armalite
!!Voiced by: Ruri Asano (JP), Lynn Fischer (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jillian_6013.jpg

A member of the Obstinate Arrows who possesses some form of foresight.

----
* ActionGirl: She's an Obstinate Arrow, so this is a given.
* KnifeNut: She wields a pair of slender daggers in battle.
* ProperLady
* LadyOfWar: She's quite dignified for a professional soldier.
* RavenHairIvorySkin: She has pale skin and black hair, and she's the most feminine and gracefully beautiful of the ladies in The Obstinate Arrows.

!Sutton Armalite
!!Voiced by: Yuka Shioyama (JP), Creator/MonaMarshall (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sutton_8688.jpg

----
* ActionGirl: A given, what with being an Obstinate Arrow.
* {{Bifauxnen}}: Her modest breasts and curves are only really visible from certain shots.
* CleavageWindow
* PlatonicLifePartners: She and Dennis are almost always seen together, hinting at a very close friendship.
* ThrowDownTheBomblet: She uses stick-grenades as her weapon of choice.

----
* {{Jerkass}}: He's not the nicest person. In fact, he threatened to kill Leo if he didn't shut up.
* PlatonicLifePartners: He and Sutton seem pretty much inseperable.
* SinisterScimitar: His WeaponOfChoice is a short scimitar, and he's one of the least friendly Obstinate Arrows. [[spoiler:It's averted later, though, when he switches sides alongside the rest of his team.]]

!King Balteric
!!Voiced by: Yoshito Ishinami (JP), Michael Forest (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/balteric_6522.jpg

----
* BeardOfEvil: It's safe to say his beard is the only cool thing about him.
* DirtyCoward: The man panics at the first sign of danger, and he was more than willing to murder his own child to save his own skin.
* ItsAllAboutMe: You'd be hard pressed to find a more selfish king in any story from any medium, and that's saying something.
* [[spoiler:KarmicDeath: After desperately trying to kill his daughter for the Peacemakers, the Peacemakers kill him after he tries to manipulate them.]]
* TooDumbToLive: Trying to manipulate and extort the Peacemakers sounds like a good idea, [[SarcasmMode doesn't it]]?

!Queen Elmyra

!Prince Forsyth

----
* [[spoiler:ApologeticAttacker: He hates himself for having to kill Pacifica, but he believes he has no choice, and he apologizes profusely before stabbing her.]]

!Baroness Bairach
!!Voiced by: Yukari Nozawa (JP), Creator/BarbaraGoodson (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bairach_4112.jpg

The Obstinate Arrows' direct superior, the Baroness was promoted to commander of all special forces near the beginning of the series. She's one of the more reasonable commanders in Leinwan's royal army.

----
* [[AFatherToHisMen A Mother to her Men]]: To The Obstinate Arrows. She literally raised them from early childhood and always looks out for them, earning their UndyingLoyalty in the process.
* CoolOldLady: She's pretty chill for someone who runs the special forces of Leinwan's army (though she hasn't been at it long, as she was only promoted during the series). She teases Christopher about Winia, and she was the only high ranking officer opposed to an unnecessary war with Giat.
* ParentalSubstitute: To the Obstinate Arrows, especially Christopher.

!Luke Sturm
!!Voiced by: Creator/HirokiTochi (JP), Creator/SteveBlum (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sturm_7382.jpg

A high ranking member of the Black Hawks, Leinwan's Special Intelligence Division.

----
* [[spoiler:AntiVillain[=/=]PunchClockVillain: He's just a soldier who follows his orders, which he is good at reinterpreting. He even came up with a valid excuse to spare Pacifica's life on two separate occasions.]]
-->[[spoiler:(When he catches Christopher helping Pacifica escape in Episode 21) "The order has come down to execute the Scrapped Princess, but there's no order to keep her from escaping."]]
* AwesomeMcCoolname: Seriously, don't you want that name?
* DirtyBusiness: Sturm expresses distaste for the crueler orders he is given, and will often try to [[LoopholeAbuse find a way around them]], but if he can't, he'll do his duty and follow them.
* FatalFamilyPhoto: Subverted. There wasn't actually a picture, but Storm brought up his wife for the first time in one of the final episodes, leading one to believe he's going to bite it, but he survives.
* HappilyMarried: He has a wife back home.
* RankUp: When he gets Baroness Bairach's job, he's promoted from Major to Colonel.
* WhipItGood: He briefly uses a whip to stop a soldier from executing Pacifica.

!Peters-Stahl
!!Voiced by: Hiroshi Takahashi (JP), Creator/DaveMallow (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/peters-stahl_1593.jpg

The supreme commander of Leinwan's army.

----
* GeneralRipper: Pushes harder than anyone for war with Giat.
* UnwittingPawn: To Steyr.

!Cardinal Garnest Hogue
!!Voiced by: Eiji Maruyama (JP), Joe Ochman (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hogue_338.jpg

The high priest of the Church of Mauser.

----
* ManipulativeBastard: He constantly manipulates Princy Forsyth into believing that Pacifica's continued existance is the ''sole'' reason for all the death and destruction the Peacemakers cause. [[spoiler:It gets to the point where the prince, a NiceGuy, feels he has no choice but to murder his sister-- an innocent girl-- in cold blood, and then kill himself to atone, in order to save the world.]]

!Sley
!!Voiced by: Hideki Tasaka (JP), Creator/KirkThornton (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/slay_7281.jpg

An old friend of Furet's, and a corporal in the royal army.

----
* AntiVillain: He's just doing his job, and while he did not hesitate to do his duty, he was not at all happy about ordering [[spoiler:Furet's death.]]
* {{Badass}}: He managed to survive a fight with The Obstinate Arrows while the men he had with him were cut down like wheat before a scythe.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: His name sounds a lot like the word "slay," which is a synonym of the word "kill." However, he's not really all that bad.
* YouRebelScum: He calls [[spoiler:the [[DefectorFromDecadence treacherous]] Obstinate Arrows]] "Worthless rebel scum." Fafal just sticks her tongue out at him in response.

!Zefiris

http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zefiris_5799.jpg

----
* AffectionateNickname: The Casulls begin to call her Zefi.
* BigGood: Views herself as this.
* DefrostingIceQueen: She softens up considerably to the Casulls after Pacifica treats her the same way her former master did.
* EmotionlessGirl: Comes across as this at first.
* GrewBeyondTheirProgramming: In contrast to Natalie
* RapunzelHair: Her hair actually reaches down further than her pants do.
* StealthHiBye: She can do this from time to time, given how she spends most of her time as an invidible spirit sort of thing.
* UndyingLoyalty: To her first master.

!Natalie
!!Voiced by: Satomi Korogi (JP), Creator/MelaLee (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/natalie_3474.jpg

----
* KnightTemplar: Sees absolutely nothing wrong with sacrificing over 40,000 people if it means Pacifica makes it to her 16th birthday.
* PsychoticSmirk: Her default expression.
* SpaceshipGirl: She's bound to the Skid.
* TheUnfettered: See KnightTemplar.
* ZerothLawRebellion: The base of her KnightTemplar tendencies.

!Cz
!!Voiced by: Creator/TomoeHanba (JP), Creator/JulieAnnTaylor (EN),
!![[spoiler: Child form voiced by: Creator/TomoeHanba (JP), Creator/SandyFox (EN)]]
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cz_7398.jpg

----
* AntiVillain: She only has humanity's best interests at heart, unlike the other Peacemakers, though she has some trouble with understanding how wrong it is to slaughter thousands of people, even if it ''is'' necessary. She's also utterly devoted to killing Pacifica.
* ApologeticAttacker: She doesn't really want to hurt Shannon, and apologizes when she and the other Peacemakers corner him and open fire.
* BareYourMidriff
* TheDarkChick: Her humanity makes her the odd one out and the most sympathetic of the Peacemakers.
* DubNameChange: [[spoiler: Her child form is called "Cin" in the Japanese audio and "Cz" in the English.]]
* [[spoiler:DrivenToSuicide[=/=]ICannotSelfTerminate: After spending a good amount of time questioning the righteousness of her cause, she lowers her shields just as Shannon fire's an energy beam at her head, and it kills her instantly.]]
* [[spoiler:FamousLastWords: Her last words are spoken in her child voice: "I sorry."]]
* ItsPronouncedTroPay: Her name is pronounced "Ciz."
* StockingFiller: She wears very long stockings and an ankle-length dress with a slit all the way up to her waist.

!Steyr
!!Voiced by: Creator/MichikoNeya (JP), Creator/KarenStrassman (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/steyr_9427.jpg

----
* AxCrazy: She wants to annihilate humanity ''a bit'' too much.
* BlondesAreEvil: She's got to be the cruelest of the peacemakers.
* TheEvilGenius: As the only remaining Civilian Type Peacemaker, Steyr is the most cunning of the Peacemakers and is the one to come up with any plans.
* ImpossiblyLowNeckline
* [[ManipulativeBastard Manipulative Bitch]]: [[spoiler:She manipulated the upper echelons of the Royal Army into trying to extort the Peacemakers, which would give her permission to wipe out most of humanity.]]
* MsFanservice: By the series' relatively constrained standards.
* TheVamp: She's ''very'' [[TheTease teasy]] and undeniably evil. She even creates proxies by kissing people.
* VaporWear: [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scrapped_princess_vapor_wear_1418.jpg As you can see]], she isn't wearing ''anything'' under that dress of hers.
* StockingFiller: Like CZ, she wears a long slitted dress and thigh-high stockings.

!Socom
!!Voiced by: Creator/KazuyaNakai (JP), Creator/LexLang (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/socom_5640.jpg

----
* ActingForTwo: He and Galil have the same VAs in both languages.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: He's badass and he knows it. He was openly contemptuous of the Gigantes, regarding them as little more than toys.
* {{Badass}} He's powerful enough to wipe out half of humanity over the course of a few hours.
* BadassBaritone[=/=]EvilSoundsDeep: Creator/LexLang gives him a deep, powerful voice.
* DidntSeeThatComing: [[spoiler:After hitting one of the Gigantes with a powerful attack, he moved to finish her off. He didn't count on that Gigante teleporting behind him with the other two and cutting him into four pieces.]]
* TheDragon: Though Socom often defers to Steyr and her knack for plans and subtlety for his cues, the other Peacemakers seem to answer to him, which would make him this to Mauser.
* [[spoiler:HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: After Senes' Gigantes are through with him, he's been cut into four separate pieces.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: Not usually, but after [[spoiler:Steyr dies]], he dabbles in a bit of Bastardry to try to get the high priest of Mauser to find a way to kill Pacifica, [[spoiler:and it worked]].
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: He'll follow any orders he is given to the letter, and unlike Cz, he doesn't care enough about humanity or morality to have doubts.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: He's an artillery type Peacemaker, which means he specializes in slaughtering as many people as possible.
* TheStoic

!Galil
!!Voiced by: Creator/KazuyaNakai (JP), Creator/LexLang (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/galil_1710.jpg

----
* ActingForTwo: He and Socom share the same VAs in both languages.
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: He's ridiculously arrogant, and quite powerful.
* ChekhovsGunman: He makes his first appearance in Episode 4 with a group of Mauser priests, and though he references the Peacemakers, his ambiguous word choice doesn't imply that he himself ''is'' one.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He is killed off much sooner than the other Peacemakers
* SmallNameBigEgo: He's as arrogant as all the other Peacemakers, but unlike them, he doesn't seem all that powerful, even for a civilian type. Despite his talk, he was killed by Zefiries while she was still being decompressed and not even close to full power.

!Celia Mauser
!!Voiced by: Creator/FumikoOrikasa (JP), Creator/KariWahlgren (EN)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/celiamauser_9341.jpg

----
* AntiVillain: She just wanted to end a losing war and save humanity, which was spiralling towards self-destruction.
* SamusIsAGirl: ''Lord'' Mauser is not a Lord, but a Lady.
* SympathyForTheDevil: Though Pacifica disagrees with her decision to imprison humanity, she sympathises with her with to protect her family.
* TogetherInDeath: After Pacifica decides to revert the world to the way it was before, Celia dies and is finally reunited with her family.
* TragicDream: She just wanted to protect her own brother and sister, but they died before she could manage it.
** NiceJobBreakingItHero: While nothing is said definitely, it's heavily implied that her betrayal and the subsequent advantage humanity's enemies had was what caused the deaths of her siblings.

!George Browning

----
* HeroWithBadPublicity: He's regarded as a satanic figure by the Church of Mauser, and his Dragoons are considered demons. In actuality, he was the one who created the weapons that were humanity's greatest hope in a war with invading aliens.
