In ''VideoGame/NexusWar'', classes are arranged into tiers. Every type of character alignment- Angelic, Demonic or Unaligned- can choose between a 'combat' class and a 'magic' class early in the game, which defines which classes are available to them later on. Both games in the series use roughly the same set of character classes, although some have significant differences between adaptations.

''A demon who has turned away from their former path''

* CombatPragmatist: They have skills that can fool others into thinking they have good morality and are members of their faction, as well as an improved BackStab skill.
* {{Cyborg}}: A Fallen has an angelic nature due to having become a Paladin or Shepard, but the curse of Namm on them after they fall means their bodies degrade and have to be replaced with hellish machinery.
* DiscardAndDraw: Fallen have to spend at least 100 CP on Tier 2 skills, which they then lose access to after Falling as angelic skills will not function when a character is outside the "Good" area of the KarmaMeter.

* SummonMagic

!!Lich (Tier 3 Magic)
''A powerful master of wizardry who has escaped death by becoming undead.''
* MookMaker: Can summon an infinite number of zombies and skeletons.
** PopulationControl: A popular tactic was 'Petwalling', or making so many pets defending a square that no one can get in to fight... Which eventually caused ''serious'' issues with the game, a few times nearly breaking the server. So Jorm killed every pet in the game.

* NightOfTheLivingMooks

* PureEnergy: A lot of their attacks take this form.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Elder Powers]]

!! In General
* AlmightyIdiot: Its downplayed, but despite all of their knowledge and power they keep making the same mistakes over and over again and are ultimately just as stuck in the cycle as the players.
* MultipleChoicePast: How exactly the current Elder Powers came to be Elder Powers is ShroudedInMyth and diverges dramatically depending on which in-universe unreliable narrator one trusts.
* EldritchAbomination: Some lore implies that they have physical forms of some sort but beyond that nothing is known.
* CrypticBackgroundReference: There have been other Elder Powers in the past who are all absent from the current setting for one reason or another.

!! Ahg-za-Haru (Evil)[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aghzaharusmall.png]]
* GoodAngelBadAngel: the archetypal bad angel, encouraging mortals to put their own desires above everything else.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Ahg-za-Haru cares for nothing other than it's own self-gratification.
* TheSociopath
* SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil: Their portfolio includes slavery and all other ways of treating people as objects.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Hates and is hated by all the other powers
--> Ahg-za-haru hates all the other Powers – every one of them has their own vision of how the universe should work and it’s not the way it thinks things should work, which really is an annoyance of the highest order to Ahg-za-haru.

!! Alonai (Good)
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alonaismall.png]]
* AllLovingHero: Loves all things that live and grow.
* HealingHands: Patron of healers and medics
* MotherNature
* ThePowerOfLove

!! Baraas the Laughing (Good)
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/baraassmall.png]]
* DoingItForTheArt: Believes that the satisfaction of a job one enjoys is just as valuable as the fruits of the labor.
* TheGoldenRule: The Power of society and cooperation
* ForHappiness: Baraas believes that the best possible society is one where everyone is doing what they enjoy and are good at.

!! Goros the Gatekeeper (Neutral)
[[quoteright:118:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gorossmall2.png]]
* BoringButPractical: Created the physical laws of the universe and the properties of matter, which are some of the few constants between every Breath.
* SpaceMaster: Created the concept of space and relation between objects, as well as portals.
* StrawVulcan: Loves having elegant and symmetrical rules governing the universe, but doesn't understand that it can be hard for mortals to deal with.

!! Hashaa (Neutral)
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hashaasmall.png]]
* TheChessmaster: As befits the patron of Death, Hashaa makes ''very'' long term plans that factor in practically everything, up to and including [[BatmanGambit certain people opposing her]] and [[BeneathNotice being taken for granted]].
* DarkIsNotEvil: Death is neither good or evil, but simply one of the laws of the universe.
* DontFearTheReaper: While she is the Power of death, decay, and general entropy, she is not malicious.
* TheSacredDarkness:
--> Hashaa’s ultimate goal is to quiet the noisy, energetic universe and allow it – and herself – to rest in undisturbed peace and stillness. The quiet stillness and pleasant dark of night, while not directly under her portfolio, are in the mortal experience most like the conditions Hashaa would like to see.
* TheUndead: Patron of Liches and Revenants as well as the Sect of Maeval.

!! Marquai the Constructor (Neutral)
[[quoteright:117:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marquaismall3.png]]
* MightMakesRight: Physical subjugation is just one more way of ordering the universe to your liking.
* TimeMaster: Creator of the concept of time
* UltimateBlacksmith: The Power of applying order to the physical world to serve one's needs, and thus all tool-use and crafting.

!! Namm the Vigilant (Good)
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nammsmall.png]]
* BlackAndWhiteInsanity: Does not have much tolerance for nuance. One is either moral and following the law or not.
* TheEvilsOfFreeWill: Averted. If mortals have no choice but to obey the law then it is meaningless, so Namm is a champion of free will and choice.
* GoodIsNotNice: The primary purpose of his laws is to protect the weak from the depredations of the strong. However, he is not kind or gentle in his ways.
* KnightTemplar: The Power of justice, law, and punishment.
* WeHelpTheHelpless: The law exists to protect the weak.

!! Tholaghru the Gnasher (Evil)
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tholaghrusmall.png]]
* BodyHorror: The Power of mutation and chaos, and patron of Doom Howlers and Wyrm Masters.
* GeniusLoci: The original Gehenna was heavily implied to be his body. If true this would make him the only Elder Power to actually appear physically in game
* SenseFreak: Constantly in pain and pleasure and every other kind of sensation. Encourages mortals to fall in order to gain new experiences from contact with them.
* TheSocialDarwinist: Encourages mutation and catastrophe to cull the weak and create new and interesting things.

!! Tlacolotl (Evil)
[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tlacolotlsmall.png]]
* ManipulativeBastard: A patient manipulator and persuader who will use any means to reach his goal.
* EvilGenius: The Power of deliberate cruelty and precisely-applied violence, and the only Evil Power capable of long-term planning.
* TheEvilsOfFreeWill:
--> The perfect world, in the mind of Tlacolotl, is one where he makes all the decisions and has sufficient power to enforce them without fear of resistance or reprisal
[[/folder]]

The First Lich and author of the Lore of Haldos.
* EvilTowerOfOminousness: Built the necrotic tower, a recurring location in various breaths.
* UnreliableNarrator: Also the only narrator. Have fun!
