!!Mr. Bean
* AmbiguousDisorder: Bean's sense of perspective is terrible, and his behavior consistently baffles others.
%%* AntiHero: Type I
%%* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Obviously.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Undoubtedly a danger to others on the road, in ways no typical road rager would even fathom.
* GeniusDitz: He ''drove his car from the roof.''
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Mr. Bean frequently veers into this, particularly where his girlfriend is involved. Special mention to "Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean", where he asks her what she wanted for Christmas and she points to an engagement ring in a store window. Unfortunately, Mr. Bean mistakes her gesture for pointing to the portrait behind the ring and buys that instead. This leads to Irma tearfully running out on him during their Christmas evening together and a Bean, who seemed quite proud of himself for getting her what he thought she asked for, commenting in a hurt tone of voice, "W... what was wrong with it?"
* {{Jerkass}}: Completely oblivious to tact.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's not really malicious; his selfishness and unpleasantness is more childlike, he just doesn't know any better. He's not horrible just to be so.
* LargeHam: Manages to be this even though he rarely speaks and never shouts.
* LimitedWardrobe: The same brown suit everywhere he goes.
* ManChild: He sleeps with a teddy bear. In the first episode, he puts two dolls on the table when he sits down to take an examination. In general he is of the more common, FishOutOfWater type, although his strangeness goes beyond childlike and into the realm of truly bizarre.
* NoSocialSkills: Too many examples to list.
* ShockAndAwe: "Back to School Mr Bean" seems to imply that his WalkingTechbane tendencies are some sort of static electricity effect.
* TheVoiceless: He rarely ever speaks. Slightly more often he will make [[TheUnintelligible various sounds that are vaguely ''word-esque'']].
** In the fourth season of the animated series, he started speaking in complete sentences.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: Subverted. Much of the time he's a borderline sociopath, but there's plenty of moments that show that there's a real heart underneath all the madness.
* WalkingTechbane: Or at least, when he's dressed. Unless he's naked, he completely screws up tv signals and tends to break stuff or cause unexpected effects.

!! Teddy
* CompanionCube: Bean treats Teddy as if a four-year-old would treat a teddy, and it's both hilarious and ridiculously cute.

!! The Car
%%* TheAllegedCar
%%* CompanionCube
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Especially in the episode ''The Trouble with Mr. Bean'' where he dresses in the car while driving himself to the dentist, and ''Do It Yourself Mr. Bean'' where he drives on the roof of the car after stuffing the inside full of things he bought.
* FreeWheel: Occurs every time he drives his car and meets up with the Reliant (see below)
* RemovableSteeringWheel: It's his primary security measure.
* RunningGag: Often times while driving Mr. Bean encounters an unseen person driving a blue Reliant three-wheeler, which always winds up crashed, knocked out of its spot, or tipped over onto its roof.
