[[caption-width-right:350:Above: Vent and Aile in ZX, Below: Aile and Vent in ZX Advent]]
->Vent voiced by: Creator/SanaeKobayashi (''ZX''), Creator/KenjiNojima (''ZXA'', JP), Dario (''ZXA'', EN)
->Aile voiced by: Creator/SanaeKobayashi (JP, ''VideoGame/MegaManXDive''), Yuko Yunokawa (''ZXA'', EN)
The main protagonists of ''ZX'', although that "s" there is used loosely since [[SchrodingersPlayerCharacter only the one you choose to play as appears in the story]]. [[DarkAndTroubledPast Ten years ago, their mother was killed in a Maverick attack.]] Working for Giro Express, they are asked by the Guardians to transport the Biometal Model X, setting the events of the first game into motion. They[[note]](or rather, one of them -- Aile in Grey's route, Vent in Ashe's)[[/note]] return in ''ZX Advent'' and work with Grey and Ashe to put an end to Model W once and for all.

----

%%* ActionGirl: Aile, of course.
* AdaptationalBadass:
** In a bonus chapter of the ''ZX Advent'' manga Aile appears as [[spoiler:Mega Man ''Model O'' and stands ready to fight Prometheus, Pandora, and the other enemy Mega Man alongside Grey after Prometheus blows a hole in the Guardian airship]].
** In gameplay, Vent/Aile can only fight while [[FusionDance Megamerged]] and don't even carry a weapon in their humanoid form, though this is also because the security forces in Inner Peace will react with hostility to any detected weapons. In ''VideoGame/MegaManXDive'', Aile can fight just as well as any other playable character in her regular humanoid form, with Model ZX being her SuperMode.
* AmbiguousSituation: It's never explained whether the two are siblings, or [[DistaffCounterpart Distaff]][=/=]{{Spear Counterpart}}s of each other.
* ArmCannon: As Mega Man Model X, they get the X-Buster as their starting weapon. Notable in that they can charge it up to ''two'' levels, firing them both at once for maximum firepower or keeping the second shot in reserve.
* BadassAdorable: Both characters in ''ZX'' start as 14-year-olds who end up wielding the powers of legendary Reploids and stopping a madman from trying to become God.
* BagOfSpilling: In the interim between ''ZX'' and ''Advent'', Models H, F, L, and P are stolen from their lab and again land in the hands of the bad guys.
* BigBrotherMentor: To a degree, they act like this towards Grey and Ashe after meeting them in ''Advent'' via giving them advice based on their own experiences and helping them in their journey. Aile is more successful in that regard with Grey than Vent is with Ashe since Grey directly references what she teaches him during the final battle.
* BigDamnHeroes:
** [[CallBack Mimicking Giro's below]], he/she uses the exact same move against the spider boss in the second game's Quarry mission.
** For the final mission, they show up alongside the Guardian Base to mount an aerial assault on the Ouroboros with Grey/Ashe and the Hunters after the Hunter airships were destroyed.
** They pop in to HoldTheLine against the four enemy Mega Men and provide Grey/Ashe the opportunity to confront Albert without any interruptions.
* BreakoutCharacter: Although Vent is meant to be the default protagonist of ''ZX'', his female counterpart Aile has gotten more attention by fans since the game's release, likely due to the fact she's the first female "Mega Man" and that she's not the butt of the jokes in official tie-in media like Vent. In ''VideoGame/MegaManXDive'', Aile is made as a playable character over Vent, and one of two representatives of the ''ZX'' series, the other being Pandora.
* BroughtDownToBadass: When they fight Grey/Ashe in ''Advent'', they only have access to Model ZX since the four Guardian Biometals were stolen and given to the enemy Mega Men. They still give Grey/Ashe (who at this point has in addition to Model A has the A-Trans of not only said four enemy Mega Men, but also five Pseudoroids Aile/Vent never fought against) a decent fight, and during the final battle [[spoiler:Aile/Vent fight evenly with all four enemy Mega Men off-screen to a stalemate while Grey/Ashe deal with Albert.]]
* ButtMonkey: Vent, though this is more to the fandom than in-story. One official art depicts him doing cleaning for Ashe's room, with his face seemingly unsatisfied.
* CoolBike: That lasts for all of one cutscene, since it gets blown up by Galleons. There are traces of [[BadassBiker biker badassery]] in a promo trailer, though.
* CrossdressingVoices: In ''ZX'', Creator/SanaeKobayashi [[ActingForTwo voices both Vent and Aile]].
* DefeatMeansFriendship: How the BashBrothers of Grey/Aile and Ashe/Vent comes to pass in ''ZX Advent''.
%%* DugTooDeep: Their stage in ''ZXA''.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: In ''ZXA'', Vent grows his hair out to the point that he's now similar to Giro while Aile has a waist-length ponytail.
* FightingYourFriend: Against Giro. [[PlayerPunch Serpent]], [[TearJerker you bastard]].
* {{Foil}}: Aile worries as she learns more about Serpent's past (him being a Guardian and that he was a Maverick raid survivor) that the eerie parallels between them mean ultimately she'll end up [[FallenHero no better than him]]. Prairie and the Biometals make it clear they're NotSoSimilar, however, and that as long as she holds true to herself and remembers she has others to rely on she'll never fall down that path.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: Zigzagged. Vent is often portrayed in official arts as using the saber form of Model ZX's weapon, while Aile uses the buster form. However, Vent in official art is the one who prefers using Models Hx (the DualWielding swordsman) and Fx (the GunsAkimbo [[MoreDakka Knuckle Busters]]), while Aile prefers Models Lx (who despite being the "feminine" Mega Man has exclusively a halberd) and Px (who uses kunai [[FlechetteStorm by the truckload]]). Of course, [[GameplayAndStorySegregation that doesn't give any difference in gameplay.]]
%%* HartmanHips: Aile, especially in the cutscenes.
* HeroAntagonist: In the second game due to a misunderstanding. After Grey/Ashe fight them, they stop being antagonistic.
* HeroicBSOD:
** Vent and Aile suffer this twice: the first time is when they arrive at the Area H theme park, where they lacked responses to their support group as well as snapping as to where the Biometal is before explaining why they were acting strangely (the fair was the place that the mavericks attacked and resulted in their becoming orphans); the second is when they learn from Serpent that [[spoiler:[[NiceJobBreakingItHero their hatred of Serpent]] resulted in Model W reawakening, allowing Serpent to be absorbed into Model W]]. They get better both times, though.
** [[spoiler:Before Serpent dies, he tells Aile that "the blood of the creator of Model W flows through her veins", who is eventually revealed to be Master Albert. She's shocked and then she questions her own destiny. Giro then gives her a pep talk.]]
* HeroicBystander: Combined with [[UpgradeArtifact discovering Model X]] and [[TookALevelInBadass taking a level in badass]] at the beginning of ''ZX'' in order to save Prairie and the The Guardians from Giga Aspis. Vent himself comments that if he [[InnocentBystander just stood by and watched]], he'd end up regretting it later down the road.
* HeroismMotiveSpeech: They give these to Grey and Ashe after being asked why they're fighting Model W and initially making it seem like they want {{Revenge}} for all the friends they've lost against it and the Mavericks. The speeches are so good it gets the Model A Mega Man to think hard about their own reasons for fighting.
-->'''Aile:''' No... I just don't want anymore people to suffer like I have. So I decided to destroy all Model Ws in order to put an end to the Game of Destiny. I decided to become a Mega Man because I wanted to help people. You're fighting because you're trying to find out who you are, but don't forget. Only you can decide your own destiny. No matter what anyone says you are. The power you contain within is the key to creating your future. That's what a special person said to me.\\
'''Grey:''' My destiny... My future.\\
'''Vent:''' No. You can't defeat an enemy with hate... You just make more enemies. I want to use my power for something I believe in. That's why I made that promise to my friends, to be the Mega Man that protects them. Mega Man power is strong. Strong enough to change the world. But, there's one thing it can't change... that is our own destiny. You have to use your own power to do that. Ashe... Don't lose yourself in the power.\\
'''Ashe:''' How can you even say that and keep a straight face... But I like that... Those are good words to live by.
* HotBlooded: Vent in ''ZX''. He mellows out considerably in ''ZXA'', but shows a few traces of his previous hot-headed nature.
* IAmWho: One of the more noticeable divergences between Vent and Aile's narratives is that Aile finds herself questioning who exactly she is and why she's so special upon learning that Giro was always a Guardian assigned to watch over her, Prometheus taunting her about her ability to join "the game", and finally Serpent's revelation that she has the blood of the man who made Model W flowing through her veins. [[spoiler:Giro is the one who reminds her that regardless of who she is or who she's tied to by blood, she's the one who decides where her destiny leads, and it's this lesson she takes to heart and passes on to Grey in ''Advent''.]]
* ItsAllMyFault: They have a breakdown when Giro dies, lambasting themselves for [[LeeroyJenkins rushing into the fight without any plan aside from kill any Mavericks they saw]]. They even go so far as to wonder [[SurvivorsGuilt why did Giro have to die when it should have been them]], but Prairie quickly snaps them out of that mindset.
* ItsPersonal: They lost their mother to a Maverick raid on Area H ten years ago, and the lack of intervention on Slither Inc.'s part gave them a reason to hate the company. The truth behind it (along with the death of Giro by Serpent's hands) gives them a reason to search for Model W... [[spoiler:and that's to destroy it]].
** Purprill in particular was part of the Maverick raid that killed their mother. As soon as Vent finds this out, he states that any qualms he might've had about fighting Purprill have instantly disappeared.
* ItWasAGift: They call Model Z a "{{memento|MacGuffin}}," in honor of Giro.
* KidHero: In ''ZX'', they both can't be any older than mid-teens. [[SheIsAllGrownUp Puberty kicked in]] over the TimeSkip.
* KirkSummation:
-->'''Serpent:''' "If you're so confident in yourself, then let's see which of us is destined to rule the world!"\\
'''Aile/Vent:''' "''I don't care about ruling the world!'' If you're the Mega Man destined to rule the world, then I'm the Mega Man ''that's destined to save it!''"
* MadeOfIron: In the opening cutscene, they survive both their bike exploding from Galleon shots in their face and the resulting long fall to the ground off the cliff caused by the blowback. When you come back this way, you can get up to the cliff yourself and realize by doing some rough calculations by using their sprite as a reference they must have fallen ''at least'' thirty feet to the ground on their back and shrugged it off with minor discomfort. Keep in mind, this is ''before'' they get Model X.
* MirrorCharacter: Invoked by Aile in a more positive direction in ''Advent'', as she replies to Grey's question about why she's fighting Model W is that it's just like him: before she knew it, she was just caught up in it and decided to fight to help people.
* OffScreenMomentOfAwesome:
** Between ''ZX'' and ''Advent'', Aile/Vent have been working with the Guardians to hunt down and destroy any Model Ws they can find to put an end to the Game of Destiny. According to ''Rockman ZX Gigamix'', Aile had destroyed at least 11 of them, including Serpent's.
** In ''Advent'', Aile/Vent stay behind to [[HoldTheLine face off against the four enemy Mega Men]] while Grey/Ashe go to take down Albert. When it cuts back after Albert's defeat, Aile/Vent are still standing strong against them, only cutting off the battle to rescue the now-collapsed Mega Man Model A.
* OneSteveLimit: Don't confuse Aile with the character of the same name from ''VideoGame/MegaManXCommandMission''.
* ParentalAbandonment: Both of their parents were killed by Mavericks.
* PreviousPlayerCharacterCameo: In ''ZX Advent''. And like previous bosses, Grey/Ashe can copy their data and turn into Aile/Vent respectively.
* PurelyAestheticGender: While Vent's and Aile's story in ''ZX'' ''are'' different via having different dialogue at various points and shifts in the narrative focus (Vent's story explores more of the backstory of ''ZX'' and its ties to the ''Zero'' series [[spoiler:such as revealing that Prairie is Alouette, definitely showing that Model W is what's left of Ragnarok after Dr. Weil fused with it, and confirming that Ciel founded the Guardians and made the Biometals]] while Aile's focuses more on the present and future [[spoiler:such as how Serpent was formerly a Guardian, Ciel's message revealing how she made the Biometals from Model W's data and musing over the "Chosen One" could save or destroy the world, Prometheus's musings on "the game", and the revelation that she and by extension Vent have ties to the GreaterScopeVillain, Master Albert]]. Plus, their relationship with Giro is slightly different between them.) the basic premise and levels of the game still the exact same between them.
* ReflectiveEyes: After their transformation in ''ZXA'', Grey (for Aile) or Ashe (for Vent) is shown in their eyes.
* SchrodingersPlayerCharacter: You're effectively choosing not who to play as at the outset of ''ZX'', but who fills the blank role of protaganist. The other character is never mentioned in the story.
** ''Advent'' continues this; if you play as Grey, you meet Aile and she saved the world in the previous game, and if you play as Ashe, you meet Vent and ''he'' saved the world, but you never meet the other two characters. It's made even more confusing by having one of the cipher cutscenes show ''both'' of them at the same time, which implies that the two of them at least at one point existed in the same continuity.
* ScrewDestiny: Both of them become proponents of this by the end of ''ZX'', though Aile takes it to heart even more [[spoiler:thanks to Giro's encouragement after she learns about her ties to the GreaterScopeVillain]]. Aile in particular goes on to hammer this home to Grey in ''Advent'', [[spoiler:who takes it to heart during his final confrontation with Albert.]]
* SecretAIMoves: {{Averted}} in ''Advent''. Everything they can do in their boss fight, Grey/Ashe can do as well. The only thing Grey/Ashe ''can't'' do is effectively chain certain combos of abilities together.
%%* ShortTank: Aile, of course.
* {{Shoryuken}}: An additional saber technique for Vent in ''ZXA''. He can also fire a large SwordBeam when he does so.
* SingleStrokeBattle: They destroy the Spidrill Neo, empowered by a [[ArtifactOfDoom Model W]], with a single aerial slash after it had just endured a huge beatdown from Grey/Ashe without stopping.
* StockShonenHero: In the manga adaptation of the first game, Vent is depicted as being significantly goofier than he is in the game with a love of eating and a serious case of ChronicHeroSyndrome. This makes him much more like your average manga protagonist than the more serious version of him from the games.
* {{Superdickery}}: Their duel with the protagonists in ''Advent'', which is pretty blatantly an excuse to get to fight the previous player characters. To be fair, though, Grey/Ashe's introduction boiling down to "I want that Model W, get out or get hurt" [[PoorCommunicationKills did extraordinarily little to communicate that they weren't another of Albert's Mega Men.]]
* SwordAndGun: As Mega Man Model ZX, their weapon is a LaserBlade [[SwissArmyWeapon that can transform into a]] [[ChargedAttack chargeable Buster]].
* SwordPlant: An additional saber technique for Aile in ''ZXA'', which also sends out 2 rocks to the left and right.
* ThemeTwinNaming: Their names are French for [[WindFromBeneathMyWings "wind" and "wing."]]
* [[SheIsAllGrownUp They're All Grown Up]]: Face it; post-time skip Vent and Aile have definitely come a long way from ''ZX''. Vent is now a long-haired {{Bishonen}}, and Aile is MsFanservice.
** For the curious, compare their image above and [[http://www.rockmanpm.com/i/wallpapers/capcom/zxa/zxa1280_3.jpg this]].
* TimeShiftedActor: Since Vent's a grown up in ''Advent'', Creator/KenjiNojima voices him instead of Creator/SanaeKobayashi.
* {{Tomboy}}: Aile in the first game. More of a [[TheLadette Ladette]] in the second, but we don't get much characterization in that one.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Aile is a tomboy to Prairie's girly girl.
* TransformationSequence: Each get one in each game. In ''ZXA'', Aile's is a good thirty seconds longer and involves a crapload of posing. MagicalGirl ShoutOut, {{fanservice}}, [[TakeAThirdOption or both]]? You make the call.
* WasItAllALie: Aile wonders this when she learns about Giro being a Mega Man and that he was assigned to watch over her, questioning if everything he did was just "the mission" and if he actually cared about her. Prairie [[spoiler:and Giro as a Cyber Elf]] make it clear that he always loved her.
* WhatTheHellHero: They give one to Fleuve when he expresses shock at them taking Model X with them to find Giro, angrily asking him if he doesn't care that Giro risked his life to get the Biometal to the Guardians and might still be in danger as long as they have it. Granted, Fleuve's reaction seems to have been one made [[InnocentlyInsensitive in the heat of the moment]], especially since Vent/Aile don't realize Giro is actually a Guardian himself with his own Biometal and thus more than capable of handling himself, but Prairie quickly puts a stop to the argument.
* WorldsStrongestMan: By the end of ''ZX'', they're definitely in the running for it given that with the six Biometals they implicitly possess the powers of X, Zero, and the Four Guardians at their command, and depending on how one interprets [[OptionalBoss the canonicity of the fight]] they're even stronger than ''Omega Zero'', the strongest Reploid of the ''Zero'' era. Even in ''Advent'' [[BroughtDownToBadass with only Model ZX]] they give Grey/Ashe a hard fight, take down a Model W-empowered Spidrill that endured a beatdown from Grey/Ashe with a single well-aimed slash, and can stalemate ''all four'' of the enemy Mega Men at once.
* WouldntHitAGirl: Subverted with Vent. He admits it's not in his principles to fight with Ashe, but due to the unfortunate misunderstanding, he ''has'' to if he wants to get to Model W.
* [[YouKilledMyFather You Killed My/Our Parents]]:
** Purprill the Mandroid was responsible for their parents' deaths, according to Vent's story. Aile's story makes no mention, but if they are HalfIdenticalTwins, then it would apply to her as well.
** As Giro was their ParentalSubstitute, his fatal wounding at Serpent's hands invokes a similar sentiment with Vent/Aile as well, as well as him being behind the attack that took their biological parents from them too.
* YouRemindMeOfX: Rose eventually states that Vent/Aile remind her of "him" (all but stated to be Giro), while {{lampshading}} she knows Aile is a girl, but it's still the same feeling.
* YouShallNotPass: Pull this on the enemy Mega Men at the end of ''ZXA'' to let Grey/Ashe fight Master Albert unopposed. Subverted when [[spoiler:it's instead Model Z [[MoreHeroThanThou who tells Vent/Aile to go on and help Grey/Ashe]]]].

[[folder:Ashe]]
[[quoteright:345:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/345px-Ashe_3093.jpg]]
-->Voiced by: Creator/AmiKoshimizu (JP), Maya (EN)
The female lead of ''ZX Advent''. A Hunter in search of loot and fortune (or as she calls it, "booty"). Her ambush on the Raider's air fleet had her biting off a lot more than she ever hoped to chew -- namely "The Game of Destiny" as well as Master Albert's fabrications [[spoiler:and [[LukeIAmYourFather relation to her]]]]. Unlike most Mega Man characters, Ashe's buster fires only two shots at a time, though each shot is more powerful than normal.

----

* ActionGirl: Is this through and through. Her intro scene features her dropping through the skies and safely landing on an airship a far way below ''before'' she becomes a Mega Man.
* BerserkButton: Ashe has a very devil-may-care attitude and tends to just roll with the punches - until people start trying to dictate her life, challenge her independence, and marginalize her. Ashe's final battle with Albert is effectively two orators shouting down the other person's ideal and viewpoints as the barbs get increasingly personal, not helped by the fact Ashe is fighting the man who took everything from her merely as an experiment to set up the Game of Destiny.
* ChainLightning: Her Homing Shots' ability (minus the [[ShockAndAwe lightning elemental]] part), which involves her targeting up to 8 enemies and then firing a lightning-like beam to the nearest targeted enemy which will jump to another targets, one-by-one.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Ashe will snark the entire time, but her general care for others and their well-being will cause her to cross an entire burning oil field to save the lives of people who previously tried to gun her down. This can also be invoked by having Ashe track down the hunters she was with at the start of the game who got separated by Prometheus' attack; nothing ''forces'' her to go on this quest, and she gets nothing for it directly, but it's still an option for her to pursue. This is one of the primary tropes that help establish Ashe as a hero and not ''just'' a selfish thrill-seeker.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: She's the SoleSurvivor of her DoomedHometown due to a Maverick attack. [[BountyHunter The Hunters guild]] then found her and took her under their wing. Despite this, Ashe is optimistic and doesn't let it get her down; Ashe ''does'' admit, however, to being a thrill-seeker partially so that she can make a history for herself, this desire partially spurred on by the many gaps in her past.
* DecompositeCharacter: Axl's character traits have been divided between her and Grey. She receives his outgoing personality and playful, nonchalant approach towards combat.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Was first referenced in the ''ZX'' [[AudioAdaptation Drama CDs]] while Aile, Praire, and Fleuve are out shopping, where a Hunter yells for her to leave the store only to realize she's not in the place the protagonists are at.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: [[EstablishingCharacterMoment From the get-go]], she's an ActionGirl who [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome willingly jumps off of an airship into the middle of an armada]], destroys a [[HumongousMecha giant Mechaniloid]] [[CherryTapping with a mere buster gun]], and never loses face, [[DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu even when confronted by]] ''[[GrimReaper Prometheus]]''. And she's an augmented human just like anybody else...before she received the Model A.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Ashe gets fed up of waiting to get to the front of the fleet of Raider ships where the Hunters know the cargo they're after is, tunes out the other Hunters transmitting to her from inside their own ship, quickly assesses where her ship is in regards to the raider ships, and then ''leaps down several hundred feet with a cocky smile on her face'' before ''actually sticking the landing on the Raider convoy,'' [[BadassNormal no harm, no foul.]] From there, she gets in an argument with Prometheus and walks away from the incident alive. The entire section shows how Ashe moves to the beat of her own drum and quickly establishes that she has a ton of potential already.
* ExperiencedProtagonist: Even before getting Model A, Ashe was a Hunter of no small ability or pluck. In cutscenes, though her dialogue ''mostly'' elicits the same responses from Model A and others as her counterpart's, she tends to be a bit more on the ball with the state of the world and what's going on.
* FromZeroToHero: Ashe's motivation. She's not ''quite'' at 'zero' given she's an accomplished Hunter, but she has yet to hit her big, world-changing score on the job, and needs to make it so her name will be known. This quality, her thrill-junkie antics, and an earnest desire to help people is what gets her an in with the Sage Trinity, the people in charge of the world, and allows Ashe to start putting her name out there.
* GenderBender: Inevitable whenever she transforms into a male Pseudoroid or Mega Man.
* GenkiGirl: In contrast to Grey. Especially poignant because Ashe has an even worse past than her counterpart, [[spoiler: in that Ashe has a past to suffer from ''at all'',]] but doesn't let it get her down.
* GlorySeeker: The reason why she became a Hunter, and why she takes to the role of a Mega Man with gusto. Since no one, including herself, knows what her past is, she wants to instead be remembered in the history books so no one can forget her.
* GunsAkimbo: Same as Grey.
* HartmanHips: Like Aile, it's more pronounced in cut-scenes.
* TheHedonist: While also spurred on by her need to learn her past, most of Ashe's actions come down to being a GlorySeeker thrill-junkie who has a lot of fun tearing through mavericks and getting booty. Her original reaction to Model A begging her not to give him up to the villains is to explain to him she'd ''never'' do that - because he's her booty and makes her super powerful.
* JumpedAtTheCall: Something that separates Ashe from a majority of her predecessors and successors that hold the title of 'Mega Man' throughout the franchise is that she actively ''wants'' the life Model A gives her. Even before Model A entered into Ashe's life, she lived a life of thrills and adventure, working with glorified scavenger-mercenaries due to the Hunter occupation's chance to get good hauls and, of great importance to Ashe, put their names out there as famous heroes and legends. This trait is a core aspect she shares with her inspiration, [[VideoGame/MegaManX Axl.]]
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: She just wants people and history to remember the name Ashe and become a famous Hunter, as well as writing her own story about her adventures.
* ImageSong: A vocal version of her first stage theme ("Through the Lightning") appears on ''ZX Gigamix'', titled "Be One."
* TheLadette: She was raised by mercenaries, after all.
* LegacySeeker: What Ashe wants more than anything is for her name to go down in the history books so that people will remember her name.
* LittleMissBadass: She's 15.
* MadeOfIron: Falls hundreds of feet onto a Raider airship from her own ship and sticks the landing like an average day, then survives being attacked by Prometheus and presumably the damage that ended up causing the main Raider ship to crash into the Oil Fields. Then there's the fact she survives a direct hit from Prometheus' SwordBeam, which damaged the large reinforced container behind her containing Model A [[spoiler:and which outright killed Master Albert's fake body.]]
* NiceGirl: The main thing separating her from the selfish ambitions of [[spoiler:her ancestor]] is that she has no desire for the sort of power the villain is after. Though both are ambitious, Ashe notably refuses to put innocents in danger to get ahead and abhors the idea of forcing others to live life according to her whims. In point of fact, her primary means of putting herself out there as a LegacySeeker is ''being'' a hero who protects the weak and makes a name for themselves opposing philosphical mad men like [[spoiler:Master Albert.]]
* NotSoDifferentRemark: Gets this from Albert at the very end; her SecretlySelfish remarks about how he has no right to end [[ThisIsMyStory her story]] causes him to ask if that's her best answer, and that she is [[spoiler:''definitely'' one of his creations]] because of it. She doesn't bother with a retort or thinking about it.
* PowerCopying: Same as Grey.
* QuestForIdentity: The people, and even herself, don't know who she really is, though this doesn't bother her nearly as much as [[AmnesiacHero Grey]]. Still, once Albert practically dangles that knowledge in front of her [[IAmWho it starts coming up full-force]]. Her adventure later [[TheReveal reveals]] her identity: [[spoiler:[[LukeIAmYourFather the great-granddaughter of]] [[BigBad Albert.]]]]
* RedOniBlueOni: Actually forms such a pairing with Vent, of all people, largely because he's cooled down since the first game. Both have the same love for exploration and action, but Vent's calmer, more impassioned arguments actually tend to win the thrill-seeking Ashe over. Though Ashe mocks Vent for giving cheesy speeches, the ''intent'' behind his speeches influences her greatly, and allows Ashe to let go of some of the more vindictive traits Prometheus accused her of having at the Control Center. Which is fitting, given [[VideoGame/MegaManX the relationship Zero and X had with Axl centuries before.]]
* ReflectingLaser: Her charged shot.
* SchrodingersPlayerCharacter: Played straight, then momentarily averted -- in Ashe's game, it's hinted at one point that Grey still went through his intro stage, but that's about it.
* SecretlySelfish: She wants to save people just like Grey, but unlike him, who wants to honor how the Hunters saved his life despite not knowing who he was by saving others in a similar way, Ashe does it partially because [[GlorySeeker she wants the story of her life to read like a hero's]]. Atlas even asks her if she thinks just because she became a Mega Man that suddenly she became a hero, and Prometheus gives a speech about how she's trying to rationalize her actions by calling herself a hero.
** This is spotlighted in her confrontations with Albert, largely because Albert insists that Ashe's role was as a bit part in ''his'' life. As Ashe's selfish, glory-seeking tendencies come from her pathological need to give ''herself'' a role and a story to insert meaning into her existence, Albert's attitude sets her right off, leading her to rant at him about how the adventure is her story.
* ShortTank: More so than Aile.
* SkewedPriorities: When she wakes up in the infirmary of Hunter's Camp and Nicol lets her know they patched her up and even recovered the Biometal to take to Legion, her reaction is surprise and anger they're just gonna take ''their'' bounty out from under them instead of, you know, being grateful she's alive or even asking about where Lazarus and Red are. Nicol lampshades it by asking if ''that's'' what she's worried about and when he plainly states he's willing to give it up if means not being targeted by Prometheus or the Mavericks, Ashe outright calls him "pathetic" and that she'll go it alone with the train to Legion to get her bounty if need be.
* SmartBomb: Same as Grey.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Albert admits that he was taken by surprise that [[spoiler: a distant descendant of his would suddenly come in and join the Game of Destiny.]]
* TheUnchosenOne: [[spoiler:Ashe is the only Mega Man that Albert did not intentionally create, but she can Megamerge with Model A because she's Albert's distant relative.]]
* ThisIsMyStory: She says this twice, once after defeating Albert ("You're no Mega Man king...You're no god...You were gonna destroy the world...You were gonna end the story...You're not the one to make that decision! This is my life, my story!") and when saying goodbye to Vent at the end ("We can meet anytime...Because this is our story!").
* {{Tomboy}}: More so than Aile.
* {{Transhuman}}: Most humans in the setting by the time of the ''ZX'' series are this to some degree, as they are given bodies that make them equal in every way physically to machines so long as they train themselves, but Ashe stands as the poster girl for what these bodies are capable of in the setting with her opening free-dive stunt. Additionally, she goes further and really pushes the boundaries of what 'human' even is by incorporating a mechanical evolution in her body with both Model A and its A-Trans ability, given she can ''become'' Buckfire and other Psuedoroids (which are explicitly data-copies of full machines) and still switch back to her human form by disengaging from Model A. Her counterpart, being a reploid, and her predecessors, lacking A-Trans, can't compare.
* TomboyishPonytail: It's what distinguishes her from Grey when in Model A form.
* UnwittingPawn: Same as Grey below.
* WalkingTheEarth: Just like Grey, she decides to travel the earth in search of more adventure (and booty).
* WorldsStrongestMan: By virtue of defeating the eight Pseudoroids, the four enemy Mega Men (who implicitly should be on par with the ''Zero''-era Four Guardians), Vent (granted WorfHadTheFlu is involved since he only had Model ZX, but he still fought all four Mega Men to a standstill), and ultimately [[PhysicalGod Master]] [[UltimateLifeForm Albert]], Ashe could easily call herself the most powerful being of the post-''Zero'' era. Of special note is the fact she can fight Prometheus ''and'' Pandora to a standstill, something not even Vent or Aile were ever shown to be capable of, as they'd previously retreat from any battle with Vent or Aile explicitly because their objective was reached or they grew bored.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Ashe is fifteen, but her confident, cocky attitude, her character art, and ''especially'' her in-game sprite make her look and seem more like she's in her early twenties.

The male lead in ''ZX Advent''. A reploid youth who wakes up in an abandoned and mysterious laboratory [[AmnesiacHero with no memory of his past]], Grey's quest to find out who he really is inevitably shoehorns him into "The Game of Destiny" and results in [[TomatoInTheMirror a very unexpected revelation]].

----

* AmnesiacDissonance: It's all but outright stated that Grey's personality had his mind control been completed would have been ''much'' different than what he developed over the course of the game. [[spoiler:Albert's dying musing on whether or not "the other me" would have given him the same NoMoreHoldingBackSpeech all but indicates he would basically been "Albert 2.0", which makes sense since he was the backup/spare body.]]
* AmnesiacHero: He wakes up [[NameAmnesia not even knowing his own name]], and for a large part of the game his motivation is [[QuestForIdentity finding out who the hell he is and why the villains keep calling him "Defective".]]
* AwfulTruth: Both Atlas and Pandora state that when he learns the truth about himself, he will fall into despair and wish that he died ignorant. [[spoiler:Thanks to Aile, though, by the time he ''does'' learn, he pretty much doesn't care and intends to take down Albert regardless]].
* CannotSpitItOut: Model A seems to be suffering from LaserGuidedAmnesia at first, but by the time they reach Ouroboros, Master Albert says that Model A should have remembered everything by that point, namely the fact that [[spoiler:Model A was created by Master Albert and that Grey is his backup body]].
* CharacterDevelopment: Due to having no memories of his past, Grey's experiences during the events of ''Advent'' help shape his overall attitude and character. This becomes especially evident when one compares his zealousness to find out who he really is at the beginning of his QuestForIdentity, to how after he meets [[ScrewDestiny Aile]], he admits he's stopped caring about it.
* ChargedAttack: He can charge up a stronger Buster shot as Mega Man Model A.
* TheChosenOne: Even among TheChosenMany, Grey stands out [[spoiler:because he was to be Albert's backup body in the event of the latter's death, and so was meant to be the one to obtain Model W's power]]. {{Subverted|Trope}}, however, [[spoiler:due to both his incomplete brainwashing and the fact he was only the Plan B. By endgame, Albert willingly admits he would kill him without hesitation now that the Ouroboros was complete]].
* CloneAngst: [[spoiler:He finds out that he's Master Albert's defective backup body. [[SubvertedTrope He later decides that he doesn't care.]]]]
* ColorCharacter: His name is also reflected in his hair color.
* CrossdressingVoices: In Japanese, much like Vent in the original.
* DecompositeCharacter: If Ashe takes after Axl's personality, Grey takes more from Axl's backstory. He's an AmnesiacHero of a kind of reploid different to current generation types, in addition to [[spoiler:having a "family" connection with the main villain]].
* FlawedPrototype: [[spoiler:Of Albert's backup bodies, albeit only because he was awoken prematurely.]]
* GenderBender: Inevitable whenever he turns into a female Pseudoroid or Mega Man.
* GogglesDoNothing: The big cables on his back were supposedly used for transmitting power and/or brainwashing, but after he's released from the capsule, they're pretty much useless (aside from looking cool).
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Has a small scar running down the left side of face.
* GunsAkimbo: As Mega Man Model A, especially in his [[LimitBreak Giga Crush]] ability.
* HomingLasers: Grey's Homing Shot takes the form of up to eight purple lasers that curve through the air toward his targets.
* ImageSong: A vocal version of his first stage theme ("Destiny") appears on ''ZX Gigamix'', titled "Believe in Myself."
* {{Irony}}: Grey is rough around the edges, but does come to respect others as well as learn what it means to be a hero in his growing urge to help people out. [[spoiler:This makes him the polar opposite of his origin, Albert, who is not only maniacally evil but also absolutely and utterly ''petty'' towards Grey for being a failure.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Because he's [[spoiler:technically "born" at the intro stage]] (and possibly because Pandora's going to kill him), he hasn't learned politeness yet, and thus, he talks rude to people, as The Sage Trinity and later Aile noted. However, he's ready to help everybody in need, because he's inspired by [[SpannerInTheWorks the Hunters who found him and brought him to the Hunters' camp]].
* KidHero: He's only physically 14 at the start of ''Advent'', [[spoiler:though depending on how long Albert was working on him, he could actually be older or younger]].
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Due to the fact that [[spoiler:he literally has nothing to remember. According to Master Albert's plans, Model A ''was'' supposed to fill-in Grey on the details should anything have happened to Albert]].
* MadeOfIron: Survives an explosion from [[WarmUpBoss Dogu the Giant]] that destroys the bridge he's standing on, falls an indeterminate distance down into the waters below the mysterious lab, and then is carried who knows how far and long in said water until he washes ashore outside Hunter's Camp, where he's rescued by Billy. Then there's the fact he survives a direct hit from Prometheus' SwordBeam, which damaged the large reinforced container behind him containing Model A [[spoiler:and which outright killed Master Albert's fake body.]]
* NameAmnesia: In the beginning of his story when he wakes up and states he doesn't remember anything about who he is, that includes his name. Pandora then warps in and tells him his name is "Grey", right before she states her mission to dispose of him as a "Defective." When the Hunter Billy asks him what his name is, all Grey states "at least that's what she called me."
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Grey stands out alongside other characters in ''ZX''; he lacks civilian clothing, and his chestplate and shoes are armored, as if he was already partially Megamerged with Model A. [[spoiler:Which makes some level of sense, given he was meant to get Model A in the first place]].
* PeopleJars: He was inside one, before he was accidentally released in his opening cutscene.
* PerpetualFrowner: He never smiles throughout the game, [[WhenSheSmiles save for the ending]].
* PhlebotinumRebel: He is a textbook Case C; [[SpannerInTheWorks if Mick and Robin weren't snooping around the labs]], [[spoiler:the Big Bad would still have his backup body. Pandora only added fuel to the flames of rebellion.]]
* PhraseCatcher: Nearly every single villain refers to him as "Defective", with Albert taking special pleasure in using the phrase once he outs himself as the BigBad trying to get Grey killed. [[spoiler:Even in defeat, Albert can't help but call him the "Ultimate Defective" out of sheer spite for defying him.]]
* PostVictoryCollapse: After he defeats Albert, he faints due to fatigue. Aile rushes over to save him, but not before [[spoiler:[[HeroicSacrifice Model Z demerges from Aile's body to hold the Enemy Mega Men in place]]]].
* PowerCopying: Taken to the next level via the copying A-Trans powers of Model A.
* ProtagonistWithoutAPast: [[spoiler:Not that he had much of one to begin with, given he was "born" in that facility he woke up in]].
* PursuedProtagonist: Mimicking Zero in the first ''[[VideoGame/MegaManZero Zero]]'' game, he was sealed in an abandoned lab before being pursued by the Resistance (Zero)/the Hunters (Grey), and then they also grab a gun from a dead body.
* QuestForIdentity: He goes to the Legion HQ specifically to find out who he really is, but Thomas said that all the information pertaining to Grey was missing. Eventually, [[TheReveal he knows that]] [[spoiler:he's [[BigBad Albert's]] backup body]]. See also TomatoInTheMirror below.
* RaisedAsAHost: [[spoiler:He's actually built as Albert's backup body, designated as DAN-003. Thanks to the Hunters' unwitting interference, however, he's freed from his brainwashing process.]]
* RedEyesTakeWarning: After he's released from the capsule in the intro cutscene, it's shown that he has these, but [[EyeColourChange they quickly turn into]] green eyes. Possibly has something to do with his incomplete [[BrainwashedAndCrazy brainwashing]] process.
* {{Roboteching}}: His Homing Shot ability involves him targeting up to 8 enemies and then firing homing energy shots, one for each targeted enemy.
* SchrodingersPlayerCharacter: As before, Ashe is nowhere to be seen or heard of if Grey is chosen. Ashe's stage still appears in the map in Grey's story, but it can't be accessed, and the crashed Raider airship in the Oil Fields is the very same one Ashe attempted to board (plus the remains of ''her'' intro boss can be seen in the distance).
* ScrewDestiny: This is his eventual response, with a bit of prior mentoring from Aile, to [[spoiler:his CloneAngst]].
* SmartBomb: The Giga Crush ability.
* TomatoInTheMirror: Subverted. [[QuestForIdentity After searching for long enough for who he originally was]], Grey decides he couldn't care less about his original identity[[spoiler:, if he even had one]].
* UltimateLifeForm: [[spoiler:By technicality, as Grey is Albert's back-up body and thus the Plan B to receive the power of Ouroboros, he's essentially a "spare Ultimate Mega Man" in the making. In the end, however, Albert spitefully refers to him instead as the "Ultimate Defective" for managing to defeat the power of Ouroboros, that of a god's, yet still [[ScrewDestiny utterly rejecting the destiny Albert set for him]].]]
* TheUnfavourite: More or less. [[spoiler:His "dad" is indifferent to him and unlike his "siblings," Grey had no purpose in the Game of Destiny. He was just "Plan B."]]
* UnwittingPawn: [[spoiler:Prometheus and Pandora used him so they can meet face-to-face with Albert and [[TheStarscream exact their revenge]]. Pandora even said "thank you" to him before Prometheus kills Albert. And then [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness they try to kill Grey.]]]]
* WalkingTheEarth: At the end of the game (before TheReveal), he decides on doing this, continuing on his quest to find out more about himself.
* WhenHeSmiles: The first time he ''ever'' visibly smiles is at the end of the game, first to Model A, then to Aile. After seeing his [[PerpetualFrowner usually-scowling face for so long]], it's both jarring and yet also heartwarming.
* WhiteSheep: Due to the interruption of his [[{{Brainwashed}} brainwashing]] process.
* YouAreNumberSix: [[spoiler:Has the code number of DAN-003 ([[ShoutOut Dr. Albert Number 003]]). He's the third of Albert's creations, behind his "siblings," Prometheus and Pandora. This only gets revealed in the Drama Tracks, though.]]
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Subverted. He may be rude and gets annoyed easily, but he's influenced by the heroics of the Hunters and thus deeply cares about people. According to Pandora, he even was meant to have a black heart.
* WorldsStrongestMan: By virtue of defeating the eight Pseudoroids, the four enemy Mega Men (who implicitly should be on par with the ''Zero''-era Four Guardians), Aile (granted WorfHadTheFlu is involved since she only had Model ZX, but she still fought all four Mega Men to a standstill), and ultimately [[PhysicalGod Master]] [[UltimateLifeForm Albert]], Grey could easily call himself the most powerful being of the post-''Zero'' era. Of special note is the fact he can fight Pandora ''and'' Prometheus to a standstill, something not even Vent or Aile were ever shown to be capable of, as they'd previously retreat from any battle with Vent or Aile explicitly because their objective was reached or they grew bored.
* WouldHitAGirl: As shown by his battles with Atlas, Pandora, and Aile, especially the former two considering they're trying to kill him.

Vent and Aile's boss, he runs a self-titled carrier service that will [[BadassCreed deliver "anything, anywhere."]] Unassuming at a first glance, there is much more to him than meets the eye. [[{{Expy}} Despite his uncanny resemblance to Zero]], [[WordOfGod the two characters are not one and the same.]] Like Zero, however, he is this series' answer to Proto Man.

----

* BecomingTheMask: A heroic variant. While it's stated in Aile's story that the Guardians's first commander was the one who requested Giro to look after the survivors of the Maverick incident (i.e. Vent and Aile), he comes to genuinely care for them, prompting his HeroicSacrifice.
* BigBrotherMentor: Acts as this for Vent and Aile, having raised them ever since the death of their family and acting as a mentor to them. It's clear he's always wanted the best for them, and even seems determined to take them under his wing as a fellow Mega Man. Unfortunately, the villains have their own ideas.
* BigDamnHeroes: Pulls this on the second boss of the game by [[DynamicEntry leaping in from offscreen with a charged saber.]]
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Thanks to Serpent and Model W, Giro is controlled and [[FightingYourFriend forced to fight Vent/Aile]] at the end of the last tutorial stage. They manage to BeatTheCurseOutOfHim, [[spoiler:but then Serpent kills the heavily-wounded Giro.]]
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Prairie's words to Aile about how she realized what was so significant about Aile and why Giro was ordered to watch over her when she first saw Giro Megamerge indicates that like her and Serpent, Giro was a survivor of a Maverick raid.
* DeathByDepower: [[spoiler:Voluntarily does this by giving up the source of his power in the Model Z Biometal, which is also the source of what's keeping him alive]].
* {{Expy}}: Mentor, long hair, {{Mind Control}}led to fight Vent/Aile, and a SacrificialLamb are all traits that were directly lifted from Zero. They also share the same seiyuu, Yuto Kazama.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:Gives up Model Z, the only thing keeping him alive at the moment, to make sure Vent/Aile can get out alive.]]
* IKnowYouAreInThereSomewhereFight: When Serpent mind-controlled him to attack Vent/Aile, he/she tries to bring back his mind in the boss fight. It is a success... but then Serpent slaughters him.
* InSeriesNickname: He's referred to as "Giro" by the Guardians, but most noticeably by Prairie and Aile. Vent, meanwhile, almost exclusively calls him "Boss".
* LaserBlade: As Mega Man Model Z, of course. Interestingly, his is shaped more like a [[KatanasAreJustBetter katana]] than the straight sword Vent/Aile get. In his boss battle, he can increase its size to {{BFS}} levels.
* MultipleChoicePast: A small but noticeable one between Vent and Aile's story is that in the former he claims he only recently got Model Z around the same time as Vent obtained Model X, while in Aile's story he freely admits he's had Model Z for years before this point, likely before he even met Aile. Noticeably, [[AllThereInTheManual ZX Tunes]] confirms Aile's version of the story is the actual one, meaning he lied to Vent.
* ParentalSubstitute: After their mom died in the Maverick raid in Area H, Giro took Vent/Aile in and raised them for at least a decade. While it is revealed in Aile's story that he was asked to do this by the Guardian's leader, he did legitimately grow into the role. That said, he seems to trust Aile more than he does Vent, as he's far more willing to be truthful to Aile (as shown by how he reveals his relationship with Model Z) and reprimands her for her attitude less than Vent.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: When BrainwashedAndCrazy (thanks to [[TheCorruption Model W]]), his eyes {{glow|ingEyesOfDoom}} red.
* RetiredBadass: He's a former member of the Guardians, according to Aile's storyline.
* SacrificialLamb: He's introduced as Vent/Aile's father figure, as well as pretty well-versed in the world and quite skilled with his Biometal. All signs point to him being TheMentor figure over the course of the game. However, he dies at the end of the fourth mission which signifies the end of the first act, with his sacrifice providing Vent/Aile's major motivation for the rest of the game. He does become a [[EnergyBeings Cyber Elf]], though.
* SwordPlant: One of his moves in the fight is to jam his saber into the ground and release pillars of light at set intervals away from himself.
* TakeUpMySword: First with [[IAmDyingPleaseTakeMyMacGuffin his relinquishing of Model Z]], and [[spoiler:a second time at the end of the game, where he gives Vent/Aile the mission to "guide this country to peace" and carve out their own futures for themselves and the world.]]
* ThemeNaming: His name is French for "weather vane," fitting in with Vent and Aile.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Coffee, apparently.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Giro describes his relationship to Vent in this manner [[spoiler:at the end of the game]] compared to his more patient and kind one with Aile, outright stating that Vent would drive him crazy with his antics and disrespect which is reflected in his much harsher attitude. Despite that, he never stopped loving Vent.

A paramilitary defense organization created by the people of the frontier regions. Their vow is to defend Innerpeace areas and discover the cause of Maverick outbreaks.

----

* TheAce: Hareng is described as always aspiring to be this and he apparently does a pretty good job at playing the cool elite Guardian, but when he comes up short the persona tends to come unraveled.
* BridgeBunnies: There's 3 of them, named Gardénia, Tulip, and Marguerite.
* ButtMonkey: One of the generic soldiers, Maquereau, has the misfortune of often ending up in a life-threatening situation, be it getting smashed by the Giga Aspis in the intro, being shortly afterward injured during the attack at Area D, or ending up at the fire rescue mission in Area G and needing Vent/Aile's help.
* CasanovaWannabe: Scombrésoce is described as always being a gentleman to the ladies, but any points he gets tends to be docked by how he has a bad habit of sticking his nose where it doesn't belong, which irritates his fellow Guardians. Probably best shown if you talk to him at the earliest opportunity as Aile, where he tries to charm her, but ends up [[AccidentalMisnaming accidentally calling her "Earl" instead of "Aile"]] when trying to recall where he's heard of her before working at Giro Express.
* CloudCuckoolander: Truite is a downplayed example. While he's not out-and-out ''weird'' he tends to space out and miss obvious cues, and no one really has the heart to tell him otherwise. He's also the subject of a quest line where he asks Vent/Aile to deliver letters to a townsperson named Melody that he got LoveAtFirstSight at, but all of his attempts to come off as romantic fall flat due to how he words things, and it never occurs to him how she grows more exasperated back that he might want to change tracks.
* CoolAirship: Guardian Base, which doubles as [[MissionControl HQ]].
** AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: At the halfway point of ''ZX'', Guardian Base is invaded by Mavericks led by Prometheus.
* CowardlyLion: Congre is such a NervousWreck that if Vent/Aile approach him while Megamerged during the certificate exam, he'll teleport out in fright despite knowing who they are. Despite this, when the chips are down he'll dig in with the rest of the Guardians to save the innocent.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Several of them are hinted to have this. Rose in particular recounts how she watched a guy she liked suffer from his horrible injuries for two days before he finally died.
* FieryRedhead: Cédre is TheLadette with flaming red hair and totting around a {{BFG}}, offhandedly mentioning that Prairie keeps her on base specifically so she can keep an eye on the destruction she causes otherwise.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: If you talk to Carrelet at the earliest possible opportunity, he'll mention about how he's waiting on Anguille to finish making a chip for him. Talk to him again after receiving Model ZX, and he'll give Vent/Aile the Eraser chip.
* GadgeteerGenius:
** Flueve, more or less. He's [[VideoGame/MegaManZero Cerveau]]'s {{Expy}}, right down to the Brainy Specs with OpaqueLenses and his role as the keeper of Data Disks. However, he's more or less the technical guy rather than actually building anything.
** Silure and Anguille serve the more traditional role as the Guardians' major mechanic and mechanic assistant respectively. Both of them even provide missions for Vent/Aile to provide materials with which they can craft equippable chips, the Extender and Wind Boots respectively.
* TheMedic: Muguet and Rose serve this role as the the head and assistant nurse respectively. Muguet is noted to be a rough but ultimately caring doctor, while Rose is the well-meaning but shy one.
* ProudBeauty: Cédre has a high opinion of her looks, and the first time talked to by Aile she'll claim Aile is "cute" but still nothing compared to herself. She does claim Aile could give Prairie a run for her money, though.
* PutOnABus: Despite their aid to Vent and Aile in the first game as well as the implications that Vent/Aile became full-time members after ''ZX'' (given how they're able to call up the Guardian Base for the assault on Ouroboros), none of them actually make a direct appearance in ''Advent''.
* RedOniBlueOni: Carrelet and Anguille are described as this, but the interesting thing is they take traits of both that still contrast. Carrelet is an on-field fighter, passionate about his work, doesn't suffer those who don't put their best effort in, and puts his faith in logic. Anguille meanwhile is the on-ship mechanic assistant, usually reserved, tends to slack off and/or go overboard in showing off depending on the person, and gets quite emotional.
* RedShirtArmy: Compared to the predecessors in the Resistance, however, they have a much better track record. They actually hold their own defending against Serpent's attempt to destroy their air base and Vent/Aile are only needed to destroy one airship and stop Prometheus from destroying their ship's generator. However, several of them {{lampshade}} around the end-game that if Serpent gets the Model W Core, [[InTheEndYouAreOnYourOwn they'll have no choice but to rely on Vent/Aile to win]] because they just don't have the firepower to handle that sort of monstrosity.
* SequelNonEntity: Although their airship makes an appearance, none of the guardians show up in ''Advent'' and there is no explanation to their whereabouts.
* TagalongKid: Sardine takes this role, with his Secret Disk even noting he's the only child on the Guardian Base. He clearly looks up to the rest of them as his heroes (especially Vent/Aile once they join) [[CheerfulChild and is always chipper]].
* ThemeNaming: The BridgeBunnies are named after flowers; fitting with the name Prairie meaning "meadow." Most of the RedShirts (and other members) are named after fishes; fitting with the name Fleuve meaning "river." [[EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench All with French names.]]
* TopHeavyGuy: Thon is the largest and most muscled member of the Guardians, built like a truck and it's noticeable his legs (while decently muscled) are still rather thin compared to his arms and chest.
* TotallyRadical: Morue, despite having the generic male Guardian outfit, is characterized by calling Vent/Aile "dude/dudette" and using other lingo such as "totally".
* YouAllLookFamiliar: Played with. Most of the Guardians get unique sprites, and the ones that don't are usually justified by wearing the full uniform, but it's noticeable in that the generic female Guardian sprite is the same red-haired ponytailed character with her visor up and shared across three different characters (Oeillet, Chêne, and Platane). Possibly lampshaded by Oeillet, being the first and most prominent of the three by virtue of appearing the most in the story and side-missions, when she mentions she hoped she would have left a better memorable impression on Vent/Aile.

The current leader of The Guardians who took command after the original leader went missing during an investigation of an Outlands area. She hires Giro Express to transport the Biometals Model X and Model Z, and helps Vent/Aile on their mission to combat Slither Inc. and the Maverick attacks. Due to her appearance, memorabilia, and remarks made during the story (such as her being present when [[VideoGame/MegaManZero Ragnarok]] broke apart in the atmosphere), Prairie is ''heavily'' implied to be Alouette, Ciel's KidSidekick from ''Mega Man Zero''.
----
* BigGood: As the current leader of the Guardians, Prairie is Vent/Aile's boss, the highest authority figure that knows about the Mavericks and determined to stop them, and acts as something of a CoolBigSis with whom they can have personal talks about their doubts with.
%%* CoolBigSis: She acts this way towards Vent/Aile.
* CleavageWindow: Odd example that overlaps with UnderBoobs. Her top covers everything except the front of her breasts. She's still wearing spandex, but if the art director is to be believed, that's what counts for skin in the ZX universe.
* FutureBadass: If she is indeed Alouette (and frankly, who are we kidding?), she must have [[TookALevelInBadass taken at least a few levels in badassery]], going from Ciel's TagalongKid to TheCaptain of The Guardians.
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: She has many on her room. In particular, she's always seen with the one in the image above, practically being her IconicItem. [[VideoGame/MegaManZero Notice anything familiar with that toy?]]
* TheLeader: Of the Guardians.
* LovingAShadow: Hinted to have fallen in love with Giro because he reminded her of someone she knew [[VideoGame/MegaManZero in the past]].
* OlderThanTheyLook: Is revealed to be over 100 in Vent's scenario in the first game. On top of that, Prometheus (again, in Vent's story) points out that Prairie is [[VideoGame/MegaManZero not of this time]].
-->'''Prometheus:''' Oh, you know her? Well then you must not be of this time either...Haha...What an interesting little connection you two have!
* PreciousPhoto: Several in her room, of Ciel, Zero, the Resistance, and her younger self.
* SheCleansUpNicely: One of the Gigamix drama tracks is devoted to Aile dragging the workaholic Prairie to the outside world and becoming prettier like [[http://eternalhorizon.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/852_872394.jpg this.]]
* SheIsAllGrownUp: Not to the extent of Vent and Aile, but Prairie is all but outright stated to be Alouette from ''VideoGame/MegaManZero''. Though her end result isn't quite as...grown as Aile's, but assuming she was Alouette, she did some ''damned'' impressive growing since the last series.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: She is a girly girl to Aile's tomboy.
* VoiceWithAnInternetConnection: She usually guides Vent/Aile through the stages via audio communications.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Vent/Aile becomes the leader of the Guardians in ''ZX Advent'', but they make no mention of Prairie's whereabouts, let alone name-drop her.

He even gives Grey/Ashe a consoling pep-talk after Prometheus and Pandora destroy the computer that hacked Legion and thus denying them the chance to search it for any data on themselves.

In TheReveal at the end of Hard Mode, it's shown that he disagreed with the method of Albert's work, [[UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans but agreed with the desired outcome: to remake the world]].
----
* BatmanGambit: What does he do to derail Albert's plans and make way for his own? Simply hire the Hunters and give them a huge bounty over Albert and Ouroboros.
* TheComicallySerious: Compared to the wise-cracking Mikhail, Thomas is far more straight-laced, but said demeanor can get a chuckle or two out.
* EvilAllAlong: In the secret ending of ZX Advent, it's revealed that Master Thomas was actually just like Albert by having the same desire to remake the world. The only reason he was opposed to Albert in the game was due to disagreeing with the methods of his work and planned to do it his own way after his defeat.
* GambitRoulette: Apparently knowing of Albert's plans, he devised one of his own to counter Albert. ''And it worked''.
* {{Irony}}: The guy named after Dr. Light would also go rogue in his quest to "remake" the world.
* LargeAndInCharge: The tallest and most imposing of the three.
* LeftHanging: With ''ZX'' being left to the same fate as the ''[[VideoGame/MegaManLegends Legends]]'' series, we're probably never going to find out how Thomas planned to pick up where Albert left off.
* OrnamentalWeapon: He always holds a red sword, but he never uses it.
* TheReveal: The cutscene which plays after beating the game in Hard Mode reveals that he intends to continue what Albert failed to do.
* TreacherousQuestGiver: While he gives many good, generous quests throughout the game, this trope really comes to play near the end of the game; he orders the Hunters to take down Albert so he can replace him.

* AdventurerArchaeologist: Meg the "antique Hunter" as she calls herself fits this mold rather well, as she goes around hunting through ruins specifically for LostTechnology with the intent of protecting it from thieves who would sell it off on the black market. She was actually in the middle of one such hunt for artifacts when the Floating Ruins suddenly started tearing their way into the sky and tasks Grey/Ashe with collecting four artifacts (all of which are actually items from the ''VideoGame/MegaManClassic'' period) in exchange for a Sub Tank.
* BountyHunter: It's in their name, after all. However, the Hunter's Guild is distinguished from the "Raiders" in that the former's actions are legally sanctioned by Legion, which gives them the benefits of high-level missions with high pay, though this means they're legally required to hand over the lost technology they collect as per the client's request rather than keep it for themselves (which is what the Raiders do). [[spoiler:That's why they're all hands to help Grey/Ashe stop Albert when Thomas reveals he officially sanctioned the operation, bounty included.]]
* CheerfulChild: Several, such as Chris, Blossom [[spoiler:despite her mom being dead]], and Sharon (who's probably a pre-teen, but still counts).
* ForgottenFallenFriend: Played with by Nicol, Lazarus, and Red, the three Hunters who were with Ashe in her story. While Nicol is the only one who apparently survives Prometheus' attack and Ashe can take a quest from him to find Lazarus and Red, their relevance to the main story ends with the intro and Ashe doesn't even ''need'' to find them or gives them much mention past that point, with them effectively just becoming [=NPCs=] she can chat with. They don't even appear in her ending to replace the three named Hunters who go to stop Ouroboros.
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: Tina recounts how when she was a bandit, she would often tell herself it was the only way she could make ends meet. In the present, she admits she was just trying to justify her actions to herself to assuage her own guilt.
* GoodGuyBar: Technically a cafe, but Building 01 is the main relaxation area for the Hunters owned by Jim, who retired from the life believing he could make a place for his fellows to enjoy themselves in their downtime. This is also where Ward is, who takes the bounty contracts on defeated Psuedoroids and pays Grey/Ashe their share. A Reploid Hunter named Nick makes a smaller cafe later on if you talk to and complete his sidequest where he sells E-Tanks.
* TheGunslinger: Richard claims he's the best Hunter in the whole camp when it comes to wielding a Buster and holds the record at the firing range for 100 kills. Grey/Ashe being the [[GunsAkimbo Model A Mega Man]], of course, can't let that slide and they have the option to challenge that record for 100 E-Crystals.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Warren is one of the tallest and muscled Hunters in the whole game that towers over Grey/Ashe and even some of their Pseudoroid forms, and his young daughter Blossom is so small that she can comfortably be held to his chest with one arm.
* IntrepidReporter: Carley isn't technically a Hunter herself, but a reporter who works closely with Hunters and who admires their willingness to go out into the field and face danger for their profession. She gives Grey/Ashe a quest to drop a microtransmitter on the remains of a Mechaniloid found in the Oil Fields that she can't get to herself due to both media coverage and the dangers so that she can send in a team to properly recover it. She gives them the Frog chip as a reward.
* OtakuSurrogate: Sharon, despite her GirlishPigtails, is still a Hunter whose has official art of her wielding a pistol and also enjoys comic books, even giving Grey/Ashe a quest to buy some at Legion and 200 EC to do it (the cheapest one is 200 EC, though you can spend more than what she gives if you're feeling generous) and gives you the Ice Boots chip for completing it.
* TheMedic: Anna takes this role for the Hunters, and she's [[HeadTurningBeauty beautiful enough]] that at least Jim is smitten with her.
* RagTagBunchOfMisfits: They can give off this impression, considering they seem to recruit from all ages, races, genders, and/or former occupations (Tina admits she used to be a bandit and Grey is able to receive a Hunter's License just by using the transerver in Hunter's Camp, though it's pointed out by Billy people can't even enter or leave the camp without one anyways and it would be awkward for Grey if he couldn't leave).
* RedShirtArmy: The generic Hunter is almost this. They're the only kind of Hunter who don't have a unique design and the only ones who die on-screen, but they're still surprisingly competent for a RedShirt: they can actually take out some of the low-level mooks[[note]]compare to [[VideoGame/MegaManZero The Resistance]], who [[ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy never seem to be able to hit anything]] (that or [[NoSell their guns deal no damage to Pantheons]])[[/note]], and in Ashe's intro, three of them are able to take on Prometheus ''and'' recover the Biometal offscreen.
* SmallRoleBigImpact:
** Mick and Robin only show up in Grey's story for the prologue and [[WeHardlyKnewYe get killed by the security]], but if not for them, Grey never would have awakened before his brainwashing was complete and he wouldn't have gotten a gun to protect himself and shoot his way out of the lab.
** Billy's biggest role is being the one to save a grievously-injured and likely nearly-drowned Grey after finding him near Hunter's Camp, yet not only does he save the young Reploid's life, his attitude of "just doing the right thing" is what helps shape a huge part of Grey's character going forward.
** [[spoiler:It's heavily implied that the Hunters were the predecessors of the concept for Diggers from the ''[[VideoGame/MegaManLegends Legends]]'' series.]]
* SpannerInTheWorks: In Ashe's intro, they manage to pilfer Model A right from underneath Prometheus' nose after Ashe gets downed by him, and in Grey's story, two curious Hunters die for it but ultimately allow Grey to break out and find his own path in life instead of remaining the backup body he was intended to be. This gets the chosen player character and Model A in the right place together to Megamerge outside of the Game of Destiny plans, and utterly throw the whole dang thing into chaos to save the world. Not bad for an RedShirtArmy that mostly stops being relevant after the prologue.
* UniformityException: Their uniform seems to be a visored helmet, jacket, UtilityBelt, and boots, but those who call themselves Hunters and follow the uniform seem to be in ''the minority''.
* YouAllLookFamiliar: Averted. Almost every Hunter has a unique sprite of their own, with the only ones sharing sprites being the Hunters wearing the full uniform.

->Prometheus voiced by: Creator/DaisukeKishio (JP), Ryan Drees (''VXA'', EN)
->Pandora voiced by: Creator/ShizukaIto (JP), Rumiko Varnes (''VXA'', EN)

An enigmatic duo working for Serpent. While it appears that they're helping him revive Model W, they're really "the voices of Model W," aiming to expedite the "[[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt destiny of destruction]]." Despite being bested by Vent/Aile in ''ZX'', they return in the sequel.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: The ''ZX Gigamix'' album shows them [[http://oi32.tinypic.com/zuh7c1.jpg without their armor on.]]
* [[AloofBigBrother Aloof Older Siblings]]: They only care about themselves and each other, and have nothing but disdain for [[spoiler:their "younger brother," Grey]]. And there's, you know, [[spoiler:''trying to kill him'']].
* AttackDrone: Pandora has 2 drones attached to her hair that can be used to fire off elemental attacks.
* AttackReflector: Prometheus can use his scythe to deflect blaster shots if he's rushing at the player during his fights. In ''ZX'', he takes it a notch further by casually knocking Vent/Aile's ChargedAttack right back at them when they try to shoot Serpent.
%%* AxCrazy: Prometheus.
* BadassAdorable: Pandora, although her "adorable" overshadows the "badass," especially in comparison to Prometheus.
* BeingTorturedMakesYouEvil: A psychological variant, but the outcome is the same. Their lives [[spoiler:being left on an intentionally short timer to ensure they needed constant maintenance allowed Albert to build up resentment in the duo, as did his callous decision to throw them into combat again and again. This is in fact part of Albert's plan; knowing how much they hated him, he made sure to turn their animosity against him violent so as to feed the Model Ws in his lair.]] Tellingly, even when they [[spoiler:think they've killed Albert]] and thus would have no reason to continue hurting people, their rage and psychological damage pushes them to want to kill ''everything'' [[spoiler:so they'd go out in one final blaze of glory.]]
* BloodKnight: Prometheus is quite nihilistic, enjoying nothing more than mindless violence and a good fight. However, this may have been {{deconstructed|Trope}} after your fight with them in ''ZX Advent''; he hints that his having to do senseless fighting was one of the reasons as to why he and Pandora [[spoiler:wanted to betray and kill Albert in the first place]].
* CallingTheOldManOut: [[spoiler:Prometheus indulges in quite a bit of this after he kills Albert's dummy body, laughing at the fittingness of Albert being murdered by his first Mega Man and lambasting Albert's "Game of Destiny" and grand plan of evolution with Model W and Mega Men as nothing but a farce and "epic sham".]]
* CoDragons: For both Albert and (for a short time) Serpent.
** [[DragonWithAnAgenda Dragons With An Agenda]]: They play this role to Serpent, explaining why they leave him to his own purposes towards the end of ''ZX''. [[spoiler:And ultimately they prove to have similar feelings towards Albert, wanting nothing less than to just destroy the world to spite Albert's plans to remake it]].
* ChewingTheScenery: Prometheus has a tendency to do this, making up for his sister's [[EmotionlessGirl lack of it]]. This is only highlighted further by the awkward voice acting in ''ZX Advent''. His "epic sham" rant in particular has become quite legendary.
* ClimaxBoss: In both games, Prometheus and Pandora are fought at pivotal moments in the plot that answer and raise more questions about the schemes of the villains.
* CombinationAttack: Though potent forces on their own, when they [[spoiler:kill Albert and thus put their lives on a timer,]] they stop holding back and go all out. Unlike the fight with Vent or Aile at the climax of ''ZX'', Prometheus and Pandora actively combine their abilities for full-blown combination strikes against Ashe or Grey in ''Advent'' once their collective health bar reaches the halfway point.
* TheCorrupter: According to others, Slither Inc. began to change the moment Prometheus and Pandora came onto the scene.
* CutscenePowerToTheMax: When Prometheus uses his SwordBeam attack in cutscenes, it's either an incredibly damaging move that leaves the target on the verge of death or just a straight-up OneHitKill. In the actual boss fights, while it is a pretty powerful move it's ultimately not much more dangerous than the rest of his arsenal.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: From the game itself, it's implied that they've been suffering throughout their entire lives. If the drama tracks are anything to go by (see FlashbackNightmare below), it also shows them getting raided by Mavericks when they were younger.
* TheDogBitesBack: [[spoiler:Their motivations for wanting to destroy Albert, as they had been abused and underwent constant suffering.]]
* DualBoss: In the first game, they just alternate their attacks. They get true {{Combination Attack}}s by ''Advent''.
* EmotionlessGirl: Pandora. She's the exact opposite of her sibling, but no less dangerous or malicious. Though when she first confronts Grey on the train, her voice momentarily takes an annoyed edge to it, as if angered Grey got away from her.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: For what it's worth, they ''do'' love each other immensely. [[spoiler:This does not extend to their little "brother" Grey, however.]]
* EvilDuo: They're a villainous BrotherSisterTeam.
* EvilIsHammy: Prometheus all the way. Pandora is much more composed, to the point it seems that the reason she doesn't ham it up is because he's doing enough for two people.
* EvilLaugh: Prometheus gets an ''epic'' one [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8FeovIMf8o in the Japanese version.]]
* FireIceLightning: They cover all three, with Prometheus getting fire while Pandora gets ice and lightning.
* FlashbackNightmare: Prometheus gets what appears to be this in the drama tracks [[spoiler:when he's being rejuvenated in his capsule]].
* GrimReaper: Prometheus is designed with this imagergy in mind, from his darker-colored armor, the skull-shaped helmet, his SinisterScythe, and his RedBaron being "The Reaper".
* HalfIdenticalTwins: There's some semblance, but you'd be hard pressed to be believe they're actually siblings if you didn't already know. {{Justified}} in that that were both artificially made.
* AnIcePerson: Pandora, who uses it to create a large ice sculpture that bounces around, fire ice darts, and freeze one of her AttackDrones over to ram her target.
* JustToyingWithThem: Prometheus and Pandora are unique in that they have no "defeated" sprite [[spoiler:aside from when they collapse after Model W drains their negative emotions]]. Even the enemy Mega Men have the decency to hunch over and hold their arms while panting in exhaustion when defeated. Prometheus' first battle is explicitly just to test Vent/Aile, Pandora's is to buy time for Serpent to recover Model W from Area M, their fight with Vent/Aile near the end of ''ZX'' has them just doing it to distract Vent/Aile from going after Serpent directly and let him get Model W to Slither Inc. and wake it up, and even their battle with Grey/Ashe in ''Advent'' has the fight breaking off after the Mega Man Model A yells at them this fight is just pointless, to which they agree.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: Pandora evokes the image such that her moniker is 'Witch.' Though it's all the bailiwick of technology, Pandora puts stylish flair into producing ice and lightning and teleporting, twirling her staff artistically so as to make it seem like she's ''actually'' performing feats of magic.
* LargeHam: The English release of ''Advent'' has Prometheus hamming it up before and after the player's battle with him and his sister. And even more in the Japanese version.
* {{Leitmotif}}: "Trap Factory" in ''ZX'', and "Trap Phantasm" in ''ZX Advent''. The latter has a remix in ''Rockman ZX Gigamix'' album called "Trap Fanatics", and another in the ''Zero/ZX Legacy Collection''.
* MysteriousWaif: Pandora. A notable ''evil'' example.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Pandora normally speaks in an aloof, emotionless tone, but when confronting Grey on the train, she briefly becomes very curt and frustrated, as though annoyed she got thwarted by a defective.
* OutGambitted: [[spoiler: They played along with the Game of Destiny knowing that it would eventually allow them to get close to Albert and exact their revenge. Unfortunately, not only was the Albert they killed merely a decoy body, but hundreds of years of pent-up hatred proved to be exactly what all the Model W's in the room needed to activate and form Ouroboros.]]
* PeopleJars: [[spoiler:Each have one in the Mysterious Lab stage. It's used for daily maintenance, seeing as [[YourDaysAreNumbered their days are numbered]].]]
* PlayingWithFire: Prometheus, [[MeaningfulName natch]], which he uses to create twirling and moving fire pillars, summon FlamingSkulls that shoot small fireballs, set his PrehensileHair on fire as he stabs it into the ground to strike targets, and launch fireballs from his scythe (though he only uses this for his diving slash down the screen).
* PowerFloats: Pandora is almost always seen floating. Prometheus only floats when he uses area attacks.
* PrehensileHair: Prometheus. Yes, that's his ''hair'' [[ImprobableWeaponUser he's using to attack you]].
* PromotedToPlayable: Pandora finally got to be playable in ''VideoGame/MegaManXDiVE'' alongside Aile.
%%* PsychoForHire: Prometheus.
* PsychoPrototype To [[spoiler:Grey]], although [[spoiler:he was intended to become just like them.]]
* RecurringBoss: They're fought multiple times, both separately and together, in both games.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Prometheus wears purple armor as his default look (though he switches to red when he uses his PlayingWithFire powers) and is most certainly one of the strongest Mega Men running around, having been in the Game of Destiny for over a century.
* RedBaron: "The Reaper" or "Death" for Prometheus. Suffice to say, he lives up to that nickname. One of the ''Gigamix'' drama tracks even put a small emphasis on this.
** Pandora gets the moniker of "The Witch." Her moments are fewer than those of her bro, but Pandora is just as much of a threat as Prometheus is.
%%* RedEyesTakeWarning: Ohhhhhh ''yes''.
* RedOniBlueOni: The hammy, AxCrazy Prometheus is the red oni, and the stoic Pandora is the blue oni.
* SwordAndSorcerer: Prometheus is the scythe who prefers getting up close and personal, while Pandora is the sorceress who attacks with the elements from a distance.
* RightForTheWrongReasons:
** After destroying the computer used to hack the Legion database in the Waterfall Ruins, they tell Grey/Ashe that they couldn't just let the Mega Man with a 5-string-victory-steak "retire" after finding any data about themselves. They meant that [[spoiler:they couldn't let their best chance to reach Albert have any chance of stopping their quest and thus deny them {{Revenge}}]], but it turns out that [[spoiler:Grey/Ashe is the key to stopping Albert all along, so it really ''would'' have been a bad idea for them to just give up the quest at this point.]]
** After [[spoiler:apparently killing Albert]], Prometheus chuckles to Model A's befuddlement over this particular twist that "[the game's] not over yet." He meant it in that [[spoiler:he and Pandora still intend to destroy everything themselves]], but in reality [[spoiler:Albert [[ActuallyADoombot isn't actually dead yet]]]] and thus it really isn't over yet.
* ShapeshifterModeLock: [[spoiler:They're permanently bound to Model W.]]
* ShockAndAwe: Pandora, who uses it to fire guideable electric shocks, create electric traps, envelop one of her AttackDrones to ram a target, and shape it into multiple floating copies of her staff that she telekinetically controls to fire off or act as shields.
* SiblingYinYang: Prometheus is loud, boisterous, and all too willing to express his joy at fighting and killing. Pandora is quiet, talks very little, and prefers to go about fighting and killing in a calm manner.
%%* SinisterScythe: Prometheus.
* SlasherSmile: Prometheus' default expression.
* TheStarscream: [[spoiler:They fully intended to destroy Albert when the time came. And they did... just not the one they expected.]]
* StalkedByTheBell: [[spoiler:There is a literal counter on their capsules that is constantly ticking. If they're not back in the capsules by the time it's done... [[CriticalExistenceFailure well]]...]]
* TheStoic: Pandora is soft-spoken and generally not open about her emotions.
* SuicideByCop: Prometheus and Pandora's choice of words before fighting Gray/Ashe strongly implies that they want them to kill them in battle.
* ThemeNaming: Named after two of Saturn's moons, as well as two mythological Greek deities; Prometheus (the god who introduced man to ''fire'') and Pandora (who opened up the quintessential SealedEvilInACan, allowing all of the ''repressed, negative emotions'' to plague mankind).
* UncertainDoom: Their final confrontation with Grey/Ashe in the Undersea Volcano ends with the pair unconscious, and Grey/Ashe is forced to leave them behind in the CollapsingLair [[spoiler:as the Model Ws begin to merge into the Ouroboros]]. Whether or not they survived after Master Albert's defeat remains unknown.
* VampireLolitaArchetype: Pandora's Halloween variant in ''X [=DiVE=]'' is clearly designed to evoke this image, wearing an ElegantGothicLolita style dress with bat motifs.
* VillainTakesAnInterest:
** Prometheus shows this towards Ashe, as while he always dismisses Grey as a "Defective" and a pawn, his talks with Ashe reach a more personal note, even invoking a NotSoDifferentRemark [[spoiler:in that they're fighting for revenge (Ashe against him, him against Albert)]]. Not that it stops him from [[spoiler:trying to kill her once she leads him and Pandora to Albert]].
** Less obvious with [[TheQuietOne Pandora]], but she seems to have a similar interest in Grey, having longer conversations with him than with Ashe. [[spoiler:Again, not that it stops her from trying to kill him once he leads her and Prometheus to Albert]].
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: [[spoiler:Despite appearances, they spent a long time fuming at the fact that they were made to be slaves for Albert's Game of Destiny. Prometheus's last words, before he and Pandora are royally owned by Model W, were a long rant about how pointless Albert's goal was, and that he might as well destroy the whole world thanks to the pain of what he and his sister had to endure.]]
* WorldsStrongestMan: In the running for it with Ashe and Grey. Like Ashe and Grey, they are the only Mega Men who never suffer an explicit onscreen loss. When Ashe or Grey fights both at once, [[EvasiveFightThreadEpisode Ashe or Grey call the fight off after a while, deciding the rationale behind Prometheus and Pandora antagonizing them is insane.]] Of note, however, is that this is the one time where the duo don't play off the fight as if they were holding back, and Ashe and Grey will still sound as though they can go for another few rounds if the fight persisted.
* WorthyOpponent: Prometheus seems to view Vent/Aile as ones, fighting them (particularly in Aile's story) in order to test if they're worthy of being part of the Game of Destiny and expressing approval after their battle concludes.
* YourDaysAreNumbered: Wonder how in the hell Albert got these two to listen to his plans after torturing them for much of their youth? [[spoiler:He intentionally made it so that, after he fused them with Model W, they would have an extremely short lifespan and would need regular maintenance to survive. Of course, they eventually decide they'd just kill everyone before dying themselves...]]
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: Prometheus ''really'' tears into what he thinks of Albert's plans for the world, [[ChewingTheScenery loudly]] calling it all out as the world's biggest joke.
-->'''Prometheus''': It was all a ''farce''! Albert prepared everything in this world according to his own plan! He said Mega Men are the natural evolution of man!? Don't make me laugh! What an epic sham! I'm going to demolish this whole wretched world!

[[folder:Serpent]]
[[quoteright:194:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Mmzxserpent_919.jpg]]
-->Voiced by: Creator/KiyoyukiYanada
The head of Slither Inc. in the first game. Formerly a member of The Guardians, his encounter with a Biometal Model W fragment drove him insane and filled him with a burning desire to awaken the true Model W Core. To do so, he sacrifices Cyber Elves filled with the power of fear, which he creates by killing humanoids through what seems like random Maverick raids. He succeeds in reviving Model W, but the resurrection is short-lived. As Serpent dies, he declares all of humanity to be Mavericks for stopping progress.

----

* ArmedLegs: His Megamerged form has spikes on his feet that he uses to kick opponents with.
* AnimalMotifs: His name is Serpent, and he not only made the symbol of his company resemble a snake in the shape of an "S", but he's deceptive and sneaky "like a snake in the grass".
* AsLongAsThereIsEvil: [[spoiler:In his FinalSpeech, he proclaims that as long as people -- humans and Reploids alike -- have something called a "heart," hatred will always lurk within them, and that those who refuses the idea of change are the true Mavericks.]]
* AttackItsWeakpoint: In his second form, depending on the phase, you have to attack different weak points. The first is his head, the second is his shoulders, the third is the crystal in the middle of his "lower face".
* BadassBoast: In his second form, after his second health bar is taken down by enough damage, he will go into the third phase of this form and say this:
-->'''Serpent''': Korega "Ō" no sugata da! (This is the form of a "King"!)
%%* BadassLongcoat
* BigBad: Of ''ZX'', as his plan to dig up the [[ArtifactOfDoom Model W Core]] and use it to become an almighty being is responsible for much of the personal tragedy of Vent/Aile and the main conflict that must be stopped.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Head of Slither Inc., a massive MegaCorp that covers both private military and energy production, and also a maniac who wants to sacrifice thousands of people to obtain godhood.
* DareToBeBadass: A ''villainous'' example. When Vent/Aile get their HeroicSecondWind against him after he goes OneWingedAngel, he challenges them to the final fight by declaring their battle will decide which of them is the Mega Man destined to rule the world. [[ShutUpHannibal Vent/Aile reply they have no intention of ruling the world and they're the Mega Man who will save it from him]]. Cue final boss music!
* DeathFromAbove: One of his second form's attacks is him summoning 4 meteors from above that leaves small flame projectiles on their wake that try to [[HomingProjectile home in on you.]] They're destructible, however.
* DiscardAndDraw: In his second form, he starts the first phase with three attacks. When he goes to the second phase form he loses one of them but gains three new ones. By the third and final phase he stops using any of the attacks from his first phase, but keeps all the moves of his second phase while adding two new moves.
* DrivenToMadness: The original leader of the Guardians specifically notes that upon encountering the Model W fragment, Serpent grew obsessed with it until he finally lost his mind and slaughtered the recon unit to take it for himself.
* EvilRedhead: More pink-red, but still very much evil.
* EvilutionaryBiologist: Albeit not to the scale of Albert.
* {{Expy}}: His physical appearance, "evolutionary" sentiments, and his past as a member of a peace-keeping force meant to fight Mavericks before becoming corrupted are highly reminiscent of [[VideoGame/MegaManX Sigma]]. Serpent even belts out Sigma's "evolution requires sacrifice" line during his MotiveRant.
* ExtremityExtremist: Despite his muscular body, he only uses kicks for physical attacks.
* FinalBossPreview: He's first seen mind-controlling an injured Giro then introduced himself after he strikes him down again (after you fight Giro as the boss).
* FallenHero: Was once a member of the Guardians, and judging by what little glimpses we get into his past as a Maverick raid survivor and the fact that it was exposure to Model W that drove him insane and evil it can be reasonably inferred he legitimately wanted to make things better for people given his own history. Then he was part of the recon unit that first encountered Model W, and the rest is history.
* FingerGun: He can fire [[SpreadShot spreads of energy shots]] from his fingertips.
* FreudianExcuse: Aile's story, as well as Aeolus' cipher in ''ZXA'', suggest that the reason he ended up being affected by Model W is because he was a Maverick raid survivor, and that he was afraid of his past. [[spoiler:Having a trace of Albert's blood sealed the deal, though.]]
* FreudianExcuseDenial: When Aile refutes his SocialDarwinist speech by stating deep down he's just a man deeply afraid of his past, himself, and what he's become, which is why the Model W fragment managed to sink its claws so deeply into him and resulted in him being DrivenToMadness, Serpent claims she's sprouting nonsense and doubles down on his own claims that "evolution requires sacrifice."
* GemstoneAssault: In his second form, he can create growing crystals and then smash it; its debris can damage you.
* GiantHandsOfDoom: He employs these in his second form's third phase. They can create damaging crystals or fire energy shots.
* GreenAndMean: The jacket he wears is primarily green, and he's a villain.
* GroundPound: His first form has a move where he teleports directly above you and then tries to smash you with his feet. In Hard mode, this move also fires off spreading energy shots.
* HumansAreBastards: He wholeheartedly believes that so long as humans hold emotions in their hearts, they're no different from the Mavericks, being just as destructive as they are.
-->'''Serpent:''' "The destiny of destruction... still awaits... so long as you have hearts, hate will lurk in the shadows. You who possess the wellspring of emotion known as the heart... you are the ''true'' Mavericks!"
* LanternJawOfJustice: Played with. He's got a noticeable square chin, and he was once a Guardian, but now he's a villain.
* LargeAndInCharge: By far the biggest Reploid in both games, and is the BigBad and CorruptCorporateExecutive of the first.
* LaughingMad: His reaction as Model W's core is enveloping him into its system.
* LifeDrain: In his second form, where he fires 2 moving [[CrosshairAware crosshairs]] that tracks your position; if you get hit, he'll extend an energy line that drains your health. [[SmashingSurvival Mash directional buttons to escape!]]
* LightningBruiser: Serpent's first form on Hard mode is [[ThatOneBoss among the most difficult boss fights in the whole franchise]]. Most of his attacks are sped way up or have extra range by extension, demanding sharp reflexes and careful positioning to avoid having your tiny lifebar shot to nothing. It's ''essential'' to memorize his attack pattern and where his blind spots are after attacking (and he'll probably be killing you enough times for you to find a rhythm). The trouble is, even after you get it down pat, the pressure is still on to not get hit because he's a SequentialBoss, and you're carrying any damage taken into the next round. [[ThisIsGonnaSuck Have fun]].
* LightIsNotGood: His Megamerged form is clad in armor of white and gold with orange spikes, and this coloration carries over in his OneWingedAngel form. He's also a VillainWithGoodPublicity with delusions of godhood.
* LukeIAmYourFather: Tells Aile that "the blood of [[spoiler:the creator of Model W"]] runs through her veins. Come ''ZXA'', we find out that [[spoiler:it's Master Albert]]. Though it's not because they were actually related, as it was because [[spoiler:Master Albert donated some of his blood to Maverick survivors as part of his plan (except for Ashe, as she is the legitimate descendant of Albert himself)]].
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: A man named Serpent is not going to be a good guy.
* OneWingedAngel: Yup, a final boss staple. In his case, he achieves it by merging with the newly-awakened Model W core, becoming a giant Mechaniloid figure.
** PowerEchoes: In his second form.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: After getting the passwords from Model X and Model Z, he spends most of the game unearthing Model W while Vent/Aile rush to defeat his Pseudoroids to get the other Biometals while sending occasional forces against the Guardians. Once he has it, though, he doesn't bother leaving Slither Inc. [[spoiler:because he was waiting for Vent/Aile to show up [[StrikeMeDownWithAllOfYourHatred so he could absorb their hatred for him to wake it up]].]]
* PainfullySlowProjectile: His first form has a move where he shoots a very slow-moving EnergyBall that can be repelled back at him by enough shots.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Gives one to Vent at the end of their battle, declaring that Vent is a naive child holding back the world because he doesn't want to see his loved ones hurt. It noticeably shakes Vent.
-->'''Serpent''': ''(to being called a Maverick)'' A Maverick!? Me!? How dare you call me a Maverick! You're the one stopping progress. You're the one denying change. Maybe you're the Maverick! People and society are destined for change! They must shed their hate-filled hearts and suffering bodies. We must move forward! We must have change!\\
'''Vent''': I will not let anyone get stepped on in your road to "progress!"\\
'''Serpent''': On a planet... life is born... humans and machines... waves of war and peace roll on. And in every age, a fool like you tries to fight it. You don't want to see anyone get hurt. You want to protect the ones you care about. You don't want to lose anything. By acting on that desire, you continue to make choices that avoid the pain. The Mega Man destined to save the world? Unchanging life... a world devoid of the light of hope. What's the point?!
* SequentialBoss: Continuing the tradition. In Round 1, he Megamerges with Model W in a traditional manner (akin to the protagonist's ability). You defeat him just in time for Model W's core to awaken for Round 2. Even in Round 2, he can expand his form 2 more times.
* {{Shoryuken}}: One of his first form's moves involves a kicking variant of this.
* SlideAttack: In his first form a-la Copy X (of ''VideoGame/MegaManZero'').
* TheSocialDarwinist: He even pulls out the iconic (and frequently misunderstood) "Survival of the fittest" line.
** WellIntentionedExtremist: He states that he wishes to evolve the world rather than destroy it. In addition, he tells Vent that he wishes to remove pain and suffering from the world. His methods for doing so? ''Model W''.
* SpikesOfVillainy: His Model W Mega Man form has the noticeable orange crystals jutting out of his feet, shoulders, and forehead. His OneWingedAngel form has similar orange horns jutting out of his shoulders and head, with one green one out of his forehead.
* StationaryBoss: His OneWingedAngel form doesn't move since its lower body is connected directly to the floor with no feet. Not that it matters much since he has specific weak-spots that have to be hit with each life-bar knocked off, and most of his attacks can cover large portions of the room.
* StartOfDarkness: Was a member of the Guardians...and then he encountered Model W, causing him to wipe out his entire group (minus the leader).
* StealingTheCredit: Implied to have done so with Ciel's Ciel System by curing the energy crisis that plagued the world since the ''Zero'' series.
* StrawNihilist: After Vent/Aile beats him for the final time, Serpent tells them that their fight to protect the ones they love is pointless, as life will just go on in the cycle of peace and war. In Vent's case, he outright calls him a Maverick for prioritizing his temporary loved ones over possible grand future changes.
* StrikeMeDownWithAllOfYourHatred: [[spoiler:Tricks Vent/Aile into doing this to complete Model W's awakening.]]
-->''"The emotion driving you now... that emotion is not bravery... it's not born out of some sense of righteousness... it's hate. Your hate for me and everything I've taken from you!"''
* SuperMode: His first form also has the Overdrive Mode. He moves much faster in this mode.
* {{Ubermensch}}: How he sees himself, believing that as a Mega Man he has the right to rule and dictate the course of the world with Model W's power as a "shepherd". In fact, he believes ''all'' Mega Men should aspire to be this, scornfully stating to Giro and Vent/Aile near the beginning after crushing them that their weakness is proof that not all Mega Men are fit to rule and his final boast to Vent/Aile before they battle his OneWingedAngel being a challenge to see which of them is destined to rule the world. His closing TheReasonYouSuckSpeech to Vent is mocking him for refusing to have the will and strength to change the world for the better because he wants to "protect" the people close to him and so shuns change.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: He derides Models X and Z as little better than "tin can scrappings" and considers Vent/Aile unworthy as one of TheChosenMany at the beginning of the game. Those very same Models and Mega Man eventually hand him his defeat despite having the awakened Model W Core on his side.
* {{Unperson}}: Despite having once been a Guardian, Prairie is in just as much shock at the revelation as Aile in her story, as they have no records of that in their HQ. It's implied Serpent or one of his associates hacked and deleted all that information.
* UnwittingPawn: Subverted. He appears to have known ''something'' about Albert and his plans, judging from [[spoiler:taunting Aile that she has the blood of the man who made Model W]].
* VillainWithGoodPublicity
** BreadAndCircuses: Is seen as a hero by the townspeople for having his security forces from Slither Inc. keep Mavericks at bay, and giving them access to energy sources via the Ciel System. [[spoiler:It's revealed that [[FalseFlagOperation he staged the Maverick uprisings himself in order to assemble a large enough number of people]] that he could then [[BodyHorror forcibly turn into]] [[EnergyBeings Cyber Elves]] and feed to Model W, thus awakening it.]]
* WeakWilled: Called as such by Prometheus, who notes that [[YourSoulIsMine the Model W Core will devour his soul in time]] because he doesn't have the strength of will to truly master it. While Serpent himself denies this, the fact that he was DrivenToMadness in the first place by the Model W fragment seems to indicate otherwise.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: It's noted in Aile's story that giving in to Model W's influence was what gave him its power (and of course, destroyed his sanity). As he unlocks more power, he just gets crazier.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: A large part of his character was from being an implied orphan from a Maverick attack, and it is strongly implied (although he denies it) that he suffered from intense fear from that past, which Model W feed on and exacerbated to lead to his insanity. In addition, in the Japanese version, when denying Vent's retorts to Serpent, Serpent sounded a bit melancholy.
* VillainHasAPoint: Serpent is aware of the troublesome trend in the series' canon to the point it's nearly LampshadeHanging: between the advancement of humans and machines, conflict breaks out, and in every generation, ever since the original, a hero rises to stop the fighting. The trouble is, the hero is motivated by protecting what they personally cherish and avoiding the pain of loss, and in doing so, they fail to actually diffuse the conflict, but cause it to be stuck in an ongoing limbo. In Serpent's opinion, even if it must be done through destructive and monstrous means, the world's doomed unless it can ''move forward'' already. Noticeably, Vent can't bring himself to disagree with that sentiment, [[spoiler:and it takes Giro telling him that he should try and change the world ''his'' way then, a way that doesn't necessarily mean bloodshed and sweeping others aside to deal with your own pain, to snap him out of it.]]
--> '''Serpent:''' *To Vent* The Mega Man "destined to save the world"? Unchanging life... a world devoid of the light of hope. ''What's the point?!''
* YouKilledMyFather: Not directly, but Serpent did [[spoiler:organize the Maverick raid that Purprill was part of and late security response from Slither Inc. that got Vent/Aile's mom killed in Area H]].
* YouWillNotEvadeMe: His second form can create a black hole to pull you in (or alternately push you away).

[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Spoilers! Click here to see his true body]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/master_albert_2.jpg[[/labelnote]]]]

The BigBad of ''ZX Advent''. Starts off as one of the good guys until it's revealed that he had been working on Model W even before the events of the first game, but his intentions become clear awful quick. He lives up to his [[Characters/MegaManClassic namesake]], and goes on to try to reset the world, [[GodhoodSeeker with himself at the reins]].

----

* ActuallyADoombot: Prometheus kills Albert when he and Pandora show up in Albert's underwater base. Then after they fought Grey/Ashe, their emotions are suddenly sucked into the Model Ws in the background. Turns out, the Albert that Prometheus killed was a decoy.
* AllAccordingToPlan: After he has the negative emotion of [[CoDragons Prometheus and Pandora]] [[EmotionEater sucked into the]] [[ArtifactOfDoom Model Ws]] in the background, awakening them and forming the {{Ouroboros}}, he says:
-->''Just as I planned!''
* AllYourPowersCombined: As Mega Man Model W (fittingly referred to as the "Ultimate Mega Man"), he uses Model A's Homing Shots, Model ZX's Charge Saber, Model H's Plasma Cyclone, Model F's Ground Breaker, Model L's Freezing Dragon, Model P's Cross Star, Prometheus' Beam Scythe, Pandora's Teleportation, and Chronoforce's Time Bomb (although it's used only to counteract and nullify the player's own Time Bomb). His "[[AttackDrone bits]]" even [[ColorCodedElements glow with the appropriate color]] for each borrowed attack.
* AssimilationPlot: His lines about how the spirits of everything Model W eats lives on within himself and gives him "the power to control all life", plus his win quote in his second phase indicates that his end game is to forcibly feed every living thing to the Ouroboros before using its power to build his new world.
* AttackDrone: Controls several bits in his [=MegaMerged=] form, all of which are capable of emulating attacks from other Mega Men.
* BadassBookworm: Whereas Thomas and Mikhail are depicted as carrying a sword and a knife, Albert's fake body is usually seen holding a book.
* BigBad: For ''ZX Advent'', being the man behind the entire Game of Destiny, the numerous Maverick attacks happening, and the original discoverer slash creator of the Model W Biometal.
* BishonenLine: Goes from a three-headed mechanical [[OurDragonsAreDifferent dragon]], to the vastly-powerful, nigh-angelic Mega Man Model W.
* CoolChair: Before the fight against him, he is seen sitting on one, before it transforms into the aforementioned three-headed dragon.
* CrosshairAware: He has an attack in which he sends out a crosshair which tries to follow the player and shoots at certain intervals.
* DamageSpongeBoss: First half of the final battle. His throne tank is such a StoneWall that it doesn't even get a lifebar. The goal is to {{cherry tap|ping}} it in the gut as fast as you can mash the fire button, whenever you get the chance, until it explodes.
* DefiantToTheEnd: Even as he lays defeated before Grey/Ashe and hears their KirkSummation, Albert still has enough strength left to spitefully insult and tell them they can "rot" in the "peace" they've achieved before he explodes.
* DevilInPlainSight: When the character designers name you after the first villain of the entire franchise, your chances of being on the heroic side of the spectrum don't look too good, eh? Sadly, no one in the game takes note of this connection.
* EvilAllAlong: He was actually researching on Model W since long before the events of the games, as Master Thomas explains.
* EvilCounterpart: Could be considered one to Grey/Ashe, seeing as his abilities with Model W (see AllYourPowersCombined above) are identical to those of Model A's, but stronger and more versatile. Justified in that Model A was created to mimic the power of Model W as a backup plan in case Albert was somehow incapacitated.
* EvilutionaryBiologist
-->'''Albert:''' "I wanted to be the ultimate... to be at evolution's extreme... as one of the Sage Trinity, but above all, [[ForScience as a scientist]]. [[LonelyAtTheTop At evolution's extreme, there is emptiness and misery]]."
* EyesAlwaysShut: Until TheReveal, where it's revealed that his eyes are {{red|EyesTakeWarning}} with [[BlackEyesOfEvil black sclera]].
* TheFaceless: As Mega Man Model W, thanks to his helmet. All that you can see are his GlowingEyesOfDoom (well, [[BrokenFaceplate at least until right near his death]]).
* FauxAffablyEvil: Made all the more obvious after his reveal as the BigBad. While speaking with a polite demeanor towards both Ashe and Grey during these times, he also takes the time to constantly belittle and taunt the latter.
* GambitRoulette: An epic one (of the AncientConspiracy variety) spanning ''centuries''. He's just ''that'' good, even though it didn't quite come to fruition.
* GenocideBackfire: Subverted: Albert deliberately arranged the Maverick Raids to spare a few people so that he'd then donate his genes to them and thus have them participate in the Game of Destiny.
* AGodAmI: Albert believes that with Model W's fully-realized power he would be able to RestartTheWorld with himself at the reins. Grey and Ashe's response to him upon his defeat is essentially to tell him that for all his "godly" power, he still couldn't even change the destiny of one simple mortal.
-->'''Albert:''' "I don't ''think'' I'm a god. I ''AM'' A GOD!"
* GravityMaster: Alongside Model W's own control over gravity, as shown by affecting the gravity of the [[FloatingContinent Floating Ruins]] and giving its users the ability to leviate unaided, Albert's three-headed dragon throne is explictly stated to manipulate gravity in its Secret Disk entry, allowing it to launch a beam of energy that forcibly rips up the floor (and if it hits Grey/Ashe, it will send them flying into the air too) and create black holes and white holes while rending dimensions with its raw power.
* GreaterScopeVillain: He's the "Man who made Model W" that Serpent mentions in ''Megaman ZX'', having created the numerous Model W fragments like the one Serpent wields, and implied to have been the one to have discovered the Model W core. As it turns out later in ''ZX Advent'', he was also the reason for why Vent, Aile, Serpent, and the other Biometal users (sans Grey and Ashe) could Megamerge, with Albert having donated his blood to the survivors of Maverick attacks and thus indirectly allowing said survivors access to the power of Biometal.
* GreenAndMean: He's a straight-up bad guy and his decoy body has long, green/blue hair. Even his true body has glowing green parts on it.
* GroundPunch: In his second form he can form his bits into the shape of a fist, which he then brings down to the ground to create damaging flame pillars.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Whether it is by Grey or Ashe's hands, Albert is defeated by [[SpannerInTheWorks his own "backup plans" and Model A]].
* {{Hypocrite}}: Touts his "Game of Destiny" as a means of one Mega Man rising above the rest like a battle royale, where the winner gets to change the world in their image. The reality is he already seems to have [[BrainwashedAndCrazy brainwashed]] all the other Mega Men besides Vent/Aile, manipulated the entire conflict to get him [[WeaponOfMassDestruction Ouroboros]], abandoned his duties with a co-conspirator in their plans to RestartTheWorld so he could do it his way, and ultimately did virtually everything he possibly could to stack the deck in his favor so he'd be the ultimate Mega Man and champion of the game. All of this while being one of the Sage Trinity of Legion, where he can literally vote and veto world-spanning decisions into motion from the single highest position of power above all besides his two fellows. Albert had desired nothing but power for himself from the very start, and very blatantly disregards any notion of alleged fair play in favor of [[AGodAmI proclaiming himself to be a god that deserves it all.]] And when he loses, boy does he [[SoreLoser take it poorly.]]
%%* IdiotHair: He sports one. His true form has a larger one.
* {{Irony}}: Created the Game of Destiny for one Mega Man to stand tall among them all, though he'd effectively rigged the 'game' to come out on top for his own ends. He then gets thrashed by the "victors", Gray/Ashe and Model A, the former one of his own "failed" backup bodies/his own great-grandchild, and the latter being his backup information and data of an earlier Model Albert gone through a HeelFaceTurn. Albert unwittingly ''[[HoistByHisOwnPetard played himself]]''.
* KickTheDog: Whereas he praises and treats Ashe with respect as a member of his family, he has no tolerance for Grey being an unfinished (and unbrainwashed) clone backup of his. After TheReveal, Albert straight up makes almost every sentence he has towards Grey, that isn't reveling in his own plans at least, be utterly dismissive and spiteful for the sake of it. Even his dying words after being beaten by Grey and hearing his choice to choose his own path have Albert spitefully call him the "Ultimate Defective" just as a final insult and mocking spin on the would-be spare Ultimate Mega Man refusing to play his "intended" role.
%%* LargeHam: [[EvilIsHammy Damn straight.]] Must have been where Prometheus got it from.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Uses several Model W fragments to deflect Grey/Ashe's attacks during TheReveal. As Mega Man Model W, [[AttackDrone he is surrounded by several Model W-esque bits]] that must be destroyed before you can damage him. Said bits also double as his method of attack, including forming a ''{{BFS}}''.
* LukeIAmYourFather: An interesting variation on this trope: Most of the Mega Men that are encountered, including the protagonists in the previous game, were able to [=MegaMerge=] not only because they survived Maverick Raids, but because Albert altered their DNA with his genetic code, which allowed them to [=MegaMerge=]. However, Ashe was the only one whose DNA can be traced to Albert that ''wasn't'' due to genetic tampering, meaning her familial relationship to Albert was legitimate. Played completely straight with Grey, however.
%%* MadScientist: Shades of it.
* TheManBehindTheMan: It's all but directly stated in Aile's story of ''ZX'' that Albert (via Prometheus, Pandora and Model W) was manipulating Serpent. It's also implied in Ashe's story that Albert may be manipulated by Model W, his "creation," no less.
* MeaningfulName: Knowing the full name of [[VideoGame/MegaManClassic Dr. Albert Wily]] will likely tip off any long-time series fans as to which Sage is going to be the evil one, as his ambitions of pure egotism and a vie for power fit a Wily that lacks a proper nemesis to curtail his power. [[spoiler:Of course, he's not the ''only'' evil one.]]
* MyKungFuIsStrongerThanYours: Possesses the "real A-Trans", allowing Albert to be able to change himself into the forms of those whose souls and negative emotions were absorbed by Model W. In addition, he does not even need to transform to utilize said powers (see AllYourPowersCombined above). As Albert explains himself, Model A's A-Trans is a pale imitation.
* NotSoDifferentRemark: While he disregards much of what Grey says as just being a fake him, his response to Ashe's victory over him involving her ranting about how he was going to end "her story" is to outright admit she is most ''definitely'' of his lineage with how selfish such a goal was.
* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: His pre-final battle speech implies that his justification to use Model W was because he wanted to stop people from fighting among themselves. The irony is positively ludicrous -- ''how'' big is ''Advent'''s GambitPileup?
* OffingTheOffspring: Fully intended to do so with Grey (his robotic creation) and/or Ashe (his legitimate descendant). On the topic of Ashe, it's also heavily implied that [[YouKilledMyFather he was the one who arranged for Ashe's parents]], who likewise are most likely Albert's descendants as well, to be killed in a Maverick Raid.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: After being revealed, he spends most of the game in his undersea secret base letting his minions feed and collect the Model Ws to send them to him, just waiting for Grey/Ashe to get the data necessary to get his coordinates. This is because he needs them to lead Prometheus and Pandora to him, so he can use their pent-up hatred of him to wake up all the Model Ws at once. After that, he still keeps waiting, though this time it's because he [[{{Pride}} wants the chance to stroke his own ego]] about how his "spare ultimate Mega Man" (Grey) and his unexpected descendant (Ashe) managed to get so far and prove that his plans would have succeeded even if he died, and so he can kill them personally.
* {{Ouroboros}}: His grand plan to unite all of the Model W fragments creates this. Its "cycle" symbolism is reflected on its purpose, to be used by Albert to RestartTheWorld.
%%* PeopleJars: His original body (DAN-000) has one.
* PetTheDog: An ''extremely'', '''extremely''' small one when he seems to express sympathy and regret over having to do in Ashe as she's his last living descendant… before immediately subverting it by expressing how happy he'll be as the only version of himself. He has no such love for Grey, though, seeing him as a backup plan that has [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness lost its use now that Ouroboros is complete]].
* PowerFloats:
** In the cutscene of the reveal about him being the villain, he floats away using Model W. Later in Ouroboros, he slowly floats up as he transforms and the artificial sky breaks around him.
** And during the battle with his Model W form, the only way to have Albert touch the ground is to forcibly introduce him to it.
%%* PowerGivesYouWings: As Mega Man Model W.
* PresidentEvil: As one of the Sage Trinity, the ruling power of Legion, Albert possessed governmental power over the world for centuries, and used those connections in order to further his research and plan.
* Really700YearsOld: He is at least a few centuries old, and Ashe is his ''descendant''. Presumably his long life is due to being a cyborg.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: His true form has long, red hair, with black metallic faceplate (albeit this is also present on his decoy body), and two black belts encircling his body, around his waist and his chest.
* RestartTheWorld: This is his motivation for using the Ouroboros, as he planned to destroy the world and then recreate it, with only leaving the Mega Men as the only ones worthy to live in his new world.
* SequentialBoss: First his throne turns into a [[OurDragonsAreDifferent giant three-headed mechanical dragon]] armed to the teeth. When you smash that contraption, he just emerges from the rubble unscathed, [[MotiveRant continues his self-serving monologue]], and [=MegaMerge=]s with Model W.
* ShapeshifterShowoffSession: When Albert reveals that he possess the same VoluntaryShapeshifting as the protagonist, he demonstrates it by switching between the forms of the game's bosses and doing a little impression of each of them.
* ShieldedCoreBoss: As Mega Man Model W. He has a forcefield which you need to destroy by damaging it enough; only then can you do damage to him. He does regenerate the forcefield after a short time, so give it all you've got once the forcefield is down.
* StrikeMeDownWithAllOfYourHatred: Yet again, this time done to Prometheus and Pandora. Their ''hundred years'' of pent-up hatred and suffering got used to activate lots of Model W fragments to form them to Ouroboros.
* TheSocialDarwinist: Not to the extent of Serpent, but it's definitely there. Either that, or he's contemplating on whether or not he'll be a StrawNihilist.
* SoProudOfYou: In a backhanded sort of matter. While he is dismissive of the "ultimate defective" Grey even in his death, his last words to Ashe actually has him praising his own research and work in managing to create a piece of lineage in the long-term that managed to surpass even himself. Still gives an abbreviated version of his SoreLoser words below, though.
* SoreLoser: After manipulating the world for centuries, stacking the Game of Destiny so lopsidedly in his favor that there's no way he'd fail normally, and finally achieving Ouroboros' creation through countless Model W fragments coming together, his defeat at the hands of Ashe/Grey and Model A has him make one of the most openly spiteful and vindictive statements in the franchise towards the peace the heroes had intended to achieve.
-->'''Albert''': You can have your gentle peace... and ''leisurely rot in it!''
* TeleportSpam: After his shield goes down, he'll often do this.
* TemptingFate: When Grey and Ashe finally arrive at his secret base and see the hundreds of Model W cores, Albert gloats that he spent ''far'' too much time preparing for his plan that he would be inconvenienced by the loss of a few Model Ws. Then Prometheus and Pandora pop in and, after some banter, the former murders Albert right then and there. {{Subverted}}, however, as that was his dummy body and [[UnwittingPawn Prometheus and Pandora played right into the final stages of his plan]] without a hitch.
* ThereCanBeOnlyOne: Not only was his Game of Destiny meant to be this, with himself being "the One", of course, but he outright tells Grey after revealing he was the [[TomatoInTheMirror spare Ultimate Mega Man]] that there only needs to be one such being now that the plan has come to fruition.
* TooCleverByHalf: He planned for just about everything, even creating several fail-safes on the off-chance he needed them. In the end, it was some of those very fail-safes gone rogue that ultimately defeated him even by the point he believed he no longer needed them with the power of a "god" at his disposal.
* TornadoMove: He can create a pair of tornadoes in his battle form, taken from Model H's power.
* TreacherousAdvisor: As one of the Sage Trinity, he held Thomas and Mikhail's ears for centuries, using both his own power and the respect the two had for him to help further his plans.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: He vastly underestimates Ashe's and especially Grey's skills and determination to stop him, and pays for it when either of them defeat him at the end of the game.
* VillainTakesAnInterest: Expresses a desire to see Ashe's development and watch her grow as a Mega Man, likely due to the fact [[TheUnchosenOne she's the only piece he never saw coming]].
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: Unlike Serpent, however, he himself reveals his plans even before the halfway point of the story, making the "good publicity" part null.
* VoiceWithAnInternetConnection: For all of one mission prior to revealing himself as the BigBad.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: As with the heroes who wield Model A, Albert can use his own A-Trans, including into the various Pseudoroids throughout the game. However, he never utilizes this ability during his boss fights as with the full power of Model W, he doesn't ''need'' to transform into someone else to use their powers as shown by utilizing Chronoforce's Time Bomb.
* WaveMotionGun: As Mega Man Model W, he can fire two of these from the background to the left and right of the boss stage, and will slowly converge to the middle. You can try to jump at the right moment, or shoot one of the beams to push it back.
* WithMyHandsTied: His real body appears to be in a restraining jacket. It doesn't stop him from duping Prometheus and Pandora, though. He finally breaks out of it when he [=MegaMerge=]s.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Implicitly does this to Prometheus and Pandora after using them to wake up Model W, and said outright to Grey at the final battle since it turns out he didn't need a "spare Ultimate Mega Man" after all.

[[QuirkyMinibossSquad A group of mysterious youths]] who play "The Game of Destiny" to determine who will be the king of their world. They are the new holders of Models H, F, L, and P, which were stolen from Vent and Aile prior to ''ZX Advent''. Each Mega Man has their own reason for indulging in Master Albert's fanatical game, a bit of a PsychoRangers version of a FreudianTrio, plus one odd man out. They are:
* TheKirk: Aeolus, [[ShockAndAwe Model]] [[BlowYouAway H's]] Biomatch and the stereotypically {{smug|Snake}} and [[TheBeautifulElite beautiful]] [[TheSocialDarwinist Darwinist]]. His plan for society, should he win, logically follows this ideology (specifically, he wants to "eliminate the fools out of this world").
* TheSpock: Siarnaq, [[CastingAShadow Model P's]] Biomatch and a [[TheStoic stoic]] to the point of [[RoboSpeak speaking in command prompts]] due to [[FreudianExcuse his past]]. His motivation is [[NothingIsScarier unknown]].
* TheMcCoy: Atlas, [[PlayingWithFire Model F's]] Biomatch and a [[BloodKnight fight-loving]] [[TheLadette tough broad]] orphan from a nation that was overrun by Mavericks. Influenced by her past, her view on the world is that [[TheSocialDarwinist the strong will survive and the weak shall perish]], and thus, if she wins, she plans to use her influence to speed up human evolution by starting a perpetual war.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Thetis, [[AnIcePerson Model]] [[MakingASplash L's]] Biomatch and an otherwise cheerful lad whose plan for society would involve the genocide necessary to satisfy his [[WellIntentionedExtremist rabid]] [[GranolaGirl environmentalism]].

----

* AffablyEvil: Thetis. He's a genuine NiceGuy, and the only one of the quartet who is actually ''{{friendly|Enemy}}'' towards Grey/Ashe. If it wasn't for [[KnightTemplar the extremes he went to accomplish his admirable goals]], he'd probably be a straight-up hero.
* AirplaneArms: Siarnaq's running and dashing animation, unlike the other Mega Men (who ironically use NinjaRun instead). Being LimpAndLivid has something to do with this.
* AmbiguouslyHuman:
** Both Aeolus and Atlas have hair obscuring their forehead, so we don't know if they have the red marks that confirm them as Reploids. At the very least, Atlas is implied to be human (as she's [[ParentalAbandonment an orphan]]).
** Thetis, on the other hand, does have a Reploid mark, yet Grey refers to him as human at one point. That said, given the context (where Thetis attacked a highway of innocents to feed the Model W fragment located there) and the fact that humans and Reploids have effectively merged into a single race by the time of the ''ZX'' era, Grey might have meant it in the context of "Why would you kill fellow living people?", which is reinforced by Thetis retorting that he and the others [[TheRightOfASuperiorSpecies aren't humans, but Mega Men]].
* AxCrazy: Siarnaq has shades of this, mostly due to his bout of LaughingMad as seen below.
* TheBeautifulElite: Aeolus has shades of this, coupled with his {{Social Darwinist}}ic tendencies.
* BizarreAndImprobableBallistics: Atlas can alter her projectile trajectories with her Buster Edit ability. The trajectory can be seen and predicted with red squares that appear on the screen.
* BloodKnight: Considering that her goal is to force evolution on mankind by starting a perpetual war, Atlas falls into this trope. No wonder she's paired up with Model F.
* BlowYouAway: Aeolus, due to wielding Model H.
* BossRush: Subverted. ''Advent'' definitely ''looks'' like it's gonna pull this, right after the Pseudoroid BossRush even, but then Aile/Vent come in for their BigDamnHeroes moment and tell Grey/Ashe to take care of Albert while they HoldTheLine.
* CallBack: Their attempt to gang up on Grey/Ashe right before the FinalBoss almost exactly mirrors a scene from [[VideoGame/MegaManZero1 the original]] ''VideoGame/MegaManZero''.
* CeilingCling: Siarnaq is able to do this and Platform Cling.
* CoolSword: Aeolus carries one around in his normal form. It adds to his "noble" image and he unsheathes it as part of his transformation sequence.
* DarkActionGirl: Atlas. She has the Biometal of the Guardian who [[BloodKnight loves to fight the most]], after all.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Atlas is an orphan due to the constant wars that plagued her homeland. As for Siarnaq, see LeftForDead below. All of them have been survivors of Maverick raids as well.
* DashAttack:
** Atlas can charge Ashe with her Knuckle Busters in an attempt to smash her, and if she hits the wall while Ashe is on it can knock her off. In Grey's case, she combines it with her GroundPound in that she'll dash jump towards him while launching a fire wave upon landing.
** Thetis will use swim-dash into Grey/Ashe and use the spinning halberd move before swim-dashing away.
** Aeolus will air-dash at Grey/Ashe to unleash the double slash.
* DesperationAttack: All four have one which they start using once they hit half-health.
** Atlas charges up a massive EnergyBall that she fires at Grey/Ashe. Even if they dodge it, it will strike the wall and split into smaller shots that ricochet off to to try and hit them. The smaller energy balls can be targeted and destroyed with the Homing Shot.
** Siarnaq [[DoppelgangerAttack creates three (four in Expert Mode) clones of himself that will float and spin through the air before each unleashing two kunai]] at Grey/Ashe. Attacking the wrong clone will simply make that one vanish, while attacking the real Siarnaq ends the move entirely.
** Aeolus jumps into the air and summons two [[ShockAndAwe electric pinwheels]] which Grey and Ashe must dodge between to avoid being hit while Aeolus himself slowly floats back down. The move lasts until he hits the ground.
** Thetis summons a machine from a BottomlessPit that fires off damaging snowflakes before creating a [[WeaponsThatSuck vacuum that sucks in anything nearby (them and Grey/Ashe)]] to drag them into the pit. The snowflakes can be destroyed via Homing Shot.
* DualWielding: Aeolus, with {{Laser Blade}}s, mimicking Harpuia.
* DubPersonalityChange: A very minor example with Siarnaq in the Japanese and English dubs. In the Japanese Dub, he will burst out in a fit of hysterical, crazed laughter in his dialogue after he defeats the player character, showing that his friends betraying him and leaving him for dead affectedly him a lot worse than just leaving him cold and impassive, while in the English Dub, his laughter is just as monotone as the rest of his lines.
* EliteFour: With Master Albert as the BigBad and Prometheus and Pandora as CoDragons over them.
* EnragedByIdiocy: Aeolus has little patience for those he views as fools and idiots, outright stating his goal is to kill all unintelligent people in the world to keep them from causing conflict due to their fears and foolishness overriding common sense.
* EnemyMine: ThereCanBeOnlyOne! The four aren't friends, and would probably try to betray the others in their quest to become the Mega Man King. They appear to pull this again with [[spoiler:Master Thomas]]. Could result in an EnemyCivilWar.
* EvilCounterpart: In many ways, they're essentially "The [[VideoGame/MegaManZero Four Guardians]] as full villains rather than {{Anti Villain}}s."
** Aeolus and Harpuia are DualWielding green-clad swordsmen who use [[ShockAndAwe lightning]] and [[BlowYouAway wind]] powers. They both have very cold and to-the-point demeanors when interacting with others and are ''very'' prideful in their abilities, wanting nothing less than to terminate those they view as threats to the world. However, Harpuia's coldness masked a person [[GoodIsNotNice who genuinely wanted to protect the innocent and weak from evil and uphold justice]], while Aeolus' only serves to highlight his dismissive nature of "fools" and his desire to eliminate them from the earth for ''[[KnightTemplar his]]'' brand of justice.
** Atlas and Fefnir are [[BloodKnight battle-loving]] red/orange-clad soldiers who use [[PlayingWithFire fire]] and [[StuffBlowingUp explosives]]. They are both very aggressive and value strength, wanting to improve humanity. However, Fefnir fought [[SpiritedCompetitor for the thrill of battle itself]] and to let humans live in peace, while Atlas' past [[SocialDarwinist has made her hate weakness]] and she wants to improve humanity by throwing it into a perpetual war.
** Thetis and Leviathan are halberd-wielding blue-clad underwater fighters who use [[AnIcePerson ice powers]]. They both always have a [[StepfordSmiler smile on their face that helps mask their darker impulses]], and they tend to act the most [[TheGadfly playful]] of their groups. However, Leviathan for all her faults still fought to protect humanity, while Thetis hates humanity despite his kind nature and wants to wipe it out.
** Siarnaq and Phantom are the black/purple-clad {{Ninja}}s of the group with [[CastingAShadow shadow powers]]. They are both TheStoic and tend to be shrouded in mystery compared to the others. However, Phantom possessed UndyingLoyalty to a cause greater than himself and died trying to fulfill it and his stoicness was just a natural part of his personality, while Siarnaq is a victim of being betrayed by those he once trusted and LeftForDead, resulting in him adopting a robotic mindset and personality so that he never trusts anyone else again.
* {{Expy}}:
** The entire group is this to [[VideoGame/MegaManX X's]] [[VideoGame/MegaManZero Four Guardians]]. Explains why they're the Biomatches for each Guardian's LegacyCharacter.
** Aeolus takes it one step further: compare this picture of [[http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080914023156/megaman/images/8/8a/Aeolus.jpg him]] to this picture of [[http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090331154350/megaman/images/5/52/Raika.jpg Raika]] from ''VideoGame/MegaManBattleNetwork''.
* TheFaceless: Siarnaq while Megamerged. All that you see of him behind that faceguard and helmet are two {{glowing|EyesOfDoom}} {{red eyes|TakeWarning}}.
%%* FantasticTerrorists: Thetis is equal parts this and EcoTerrorist.
* FieryRedhead: Atlas. Both [[PlayingWithFire figuratively]] and literally (well, mostly).
* FlechetteStorm: Siarnaq; not as the boss, but as the copied A-Trans form. One press of the attack button throws four kunai knives; ButtonMashing it results in...You get the idea.
* FuumaShuriken: Siarnaq's ChargeAttack in Grey's storyline.
* GenderBlenderName: It doesn't matter what you say, ''Mega Man ZX'', Thetis is ''still'' a girl's name, and Atlas is ''still'' a guy's name.
* GranolaGuy: Thetis. On the surface the most cheerful and affable of the group, his deep love of nature and especially the ocean far outstrips anything he feels towards his fellow humans, to the point he plans to destroy all (or at least nearly all, if his win quote of "save what you can, then dispose of the rest" means anything) of humanity to preserve the beauty of the sea.
* GracefulLoser: Although she takes a moment to tell Ashe she's a fool for not killing her and Grey that [[AwfulTruth he'd wish he died ignorant of his past]], Atlas is the only one of the four that both willingly concedes her defeat and seems to respect them for their strength, [[SocialDarwinist which fits with her mindset]].
* GroundPound: Atlas; in Grey's storyline, it results in a stream of fire, while in Ashe's storyline, it results in a fire bomb that acts as a mine. She also transforms this way.
* {{Hand Cannon}}: Atlas, via her Knuckle Busters Sodom and Gomorrah.
* HighAltitudeBattle: Aeolus's stage, a forest lifted up because of gravitational anomaly.
* AnIcePerson: Thetis, due to wielding Model L.
%%* IdiotHair: Thetis.
* INeedYouStronger: When Grey/Ashe meets Aeolus and Siarnaq in the Tower Of Verdure, Aeolus tells him/her to hone their skills before they can effectively fight, and then he and Siarnaq [[VillainTeleportation teleport out]]. [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor It later bites him in the ass]], resulting in ThisCannotBe below.
* JustAKid: How Atlas views Thetis and Grey/Ashe. Thetis doesn't exactly take well to this and points out that she isn't ''that'' much older than him, and she seems to develop a small amount of respect for Grey/Ashe once they beat her.
* KnightTemplar: Atlas, Thetis, and Aeolus are this. Siarnaq is more unclear, since it's unknown ''what'' his motive for fighting is.
** Atlas wants to force humans and reploids to grow stronger. Believing MiseryBuildsCharacter, her solution is to start a ForeverWar that will weed out weakness and leave only strong survivors.
** Thetis wants to protect the environment, particularly the ocean, from pollution. Believing humans and Reploids can't live on the planet without desecrating it, his solution is to [[KillAllHumans wipe them out entirely]].
** Aeolus wants to put a permanent end to the constant wars that have plagued the planet. Believing all conflicts can be tied back to the ignorant and foolish who refuse to understand, he intends to ensure only the enlightened and intelligent are left to rule the planet by killing those who don't meet said standard.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: Siarnaq retreats from his battle with Grey/Ashe once he's defeated, stating that in his critical condition it would be hazardous to keep going.
* TheLadette: Atlas, who is a rough-and-ready fighter and a war veteran who believes in a ForeverWar.
* LaughingMad: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAilM9YROsc Siarnaq.]] And '''''how'''''! It's dialed back into a EvilLaugh [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa2ZK5g6m8c in English.]]
* LeftForDead: Siarnaq was [[InTheBack backstabbed by his pals]] and left to rot. It's the reason behind his [[TheStoic extreme stoicism]], lack of trust, and dislike of all relationships in general.
* LimpAndLivid: Siarnaq as Mega Man Model P almost always remains slouched over, which when combined with his robotic mindset makes him come off as "off".
* MeaningfulName: With the exception of Siarnaq (who is named after ''a [[IronicName giant]] from Myth/InuitMythology''), all of their names are the names of [[Myth/ClassicalMythology Greek deities]] that correspond to the element they use. Atlas is commonly depicted holding up the globe and thus controls earth and fire. Thetis is a sea goddess and mother of Achilles. Aeolus is the god of the winds.
* MegatonPunch: Atlas has an appropriately named "Megaton Crush," the half-ChargedAttack of her HandCannon which can send enemies flying forward, possibly hitting another enemy on the way for an extra kill count, hence the name Knuckle Busters.
* MiseryBuildsCharacter: Atlas' ethos is basically "Hard times create strong men" to an extreme degree.
-->'''Atlas:''' It is through struggle that humans learn discipline and grow! I will be Mega Man King, for the war that never ends!
* {{Ninja}}: Siarnaq due to wielding Model P resembles a dark-purple CyberNinja, complete with kunai and shuriken and the ability to use a FlashStep.
* NotHimself:
** It's implied that the Biometals stolen from Vent and Aile have somehow been bent to the will of their Biomatches. Given that all four Biometals are inexplicably TheVoiceless in ''ZX Advent'', it's truly unknown at this point. Additionally, this is taken to a literal degree, as the Megamerges look different from their ''ZX'' versions (especially in the case of Siarnaq and Model P), most likely due to the absence of Model X. Gameplay-wise, they function the same, with the moveset of each Biometal usually split between Grey and Ashe.
** It's also implied that the enemy Mega Men themselves are either being influenced or are outright brainwashed due to their red eyes, which, as seen in the case of Serpent and (briefly) Giro in the first game, may imply that Model W has some sort of hold over them.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Siarnaq as Mega Man Model P has the most drastic differences from its counterpart used by Vent/Aile.
* NothingIsScarier: Siarnaq doesn't seem to have any motive at all for participating in the Game of Destiny. It only makes his robotic disposition and shadow powers even creepier. The closest a possible motive is suggested is in his victory quote against Grey/Ashe, where he states he will commence with the planned takeover of Legion headquarters and thus suggesting he intends to dispose of the Sage Trinity.
* PlatformBattle: Thetis's boss battle. You're restricted to 3 small rock platforms over a BottomlessPit. Using Chronoforce form may ease things a bit, though, since said form can swim.
* PlayingWithFire: Atlas, as a result of wielding Model F.
* PowerGivesYouWings: Aeolus, technically, since he acquires Model H.
* {{Pride}}: Aeolus, and how. Almost every other line out of his mouth is about how superior he is to other people and putting them down.
* PrimalStance: Siarnaq's stance when in his Biometal form.
* ProfessionalKiller: According to his data disk, Siarnaq was an assassin at some point in the past. In his victory quote against Grey/Ashe, he mentions that will now commence with a planned takeover of Legion headquarters, which given his talents suggest that he'll get rid of the Sage Trinity next.
* QuirkyMinibossSquad
* RedEyesTakeWarning: ''Every single one of them''. It makes their TeamShot with [[spoiler:Master Thomas]] look all the more sinister.
* ReverseShrapnel: Siarnaq's ChargeAttack in Ashe's storyline.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Siarnaq. Bonus points for being frayed at the edges to give him a more menacing look.
* SecretAIMoves: Zig-zagged. Model A's copied version of their Biometal forms lack any of their {{Desperation Attack}}s, as well as the occasional other move (such as Siarnaq's Flash Step and Thetis' energy spear projectile). However, depending on whether the player is using Grey or Ashe, each boss will be using the exact charge attack that the player character will learn (i.e. Thetis summoning ice dragons when fighting Grey, or creating ice shrapnel when fighting Ashe).
* SheIsTheKing: Whoever wins the Game of Destiny is supposed to become the Mega Man King. While Ashe isn't interested, Atlas is, and wholeheartedly seems satisfied with such a title, as her quote further up shows. Also, being a Mega ''Man'' doesn't seem to bother her.
* ShiftingSandLand: Atlas' stage, with additional crude oil mine and Raiders' crashed airship.
* ShockAndAwe: Again, Aeolus, thanks to Model H's secondary element.
* SmugSnake: Aeolus, all the way, who can't go a sentence without putting down someone for perceived foolishness or ignorance while tooting his own horn since he's a Mega Man and that he could end Grey/Ashe at any time. His only on-screen fight ends in his loss, and he takes his defeat nearly as bad as Thetis does with the added bonus of ThisCannotBe.
* TheSocialDarwinist: Aeolus and Atlas, albeit in different ways. Aeolus believes only the intelligent deserve to live, while Atlas believes anyone strong enough to survive battle deserves it.
* TheStoic: Aeolus and Siarnaq. The latter is notable in that he's refined it into RoboSpeak.
** NotSoStoic: Siarnaq. See LaughingMad above.
* SwordBeam:
** Aeolus fires them in a style like Harpuia, but he (fortunately) cannot [[BeamSpam spam them]] save on Expert Mode, where he'll fire two.
** Thetis can charge and fire a large blue energy spear projectile.
* TeleportSpam: Siarnaq will constantly vanish and reappear during his boss fight. He noticeably [[DoppelgangerSpin leaves behind fading afterimages of himself]] as he does it, implying that he's using a variation of Model P's Shadow Dash ability.
* ThemeNaming: Like Prometheus and Pandora, Aeolus (Helios), Atlas, Thetis (Tethys), and Siarnaq were all supposed to be named after Saturnian moons. [[note]]The Greek deity Helios is occasionally referred to as Hyperion, one of Saturn's many moons.[[/note]] Additionally, Aeolus, Helios, Atlas, Thetis, and Tethys are figures from [[Myth/ClassicalMythology Greek mythology]] (a majority of them being Titans) whose powers and backstories correlate to the ElementalPowers of the quartet. In this regard, Siarnaq is the [[OddNameOut odd man out]]; his only mythological counterpart is a mythical Inuit mermaid patron of seals.
* ThisCannotBe: The insufferably arrogant Aeolus cannot believe that he was bested by an inferior Mega Man like Grey or Ashe, calling them "defective" and "plebeian" respectively. He leaves the fight claiming that he'll never acknowledge them and succeed in his goals.
* TomboyishName: Atlas. Inverted with Thetis.
* VillainForgotToLevelGrind: Presumably. They certainly [[UnderestimatingBadassery didn't expect]] Grey/Ashe (relative newcomers to the Game of Destiny) to become more adept at using Model A in such a short time, to say the very least. They are savvy enough to gang up on Grey/Ashe in the last level right before the FinalBoss in response to their previous losses, but that's when Aile/Vent shows up to hold them off.
* VillainRespect: Aeolus, of all people, develops a bit for [[spoiler:Model Z, stating that he has "beautiful resolve" to [[HeroicSacrifice throw away his life to let Aile/Vent rescue Grey/Ashe]]]].
* VillainTeamUp: They each individually correctly identify that Ashe or Grey are by far the greatest threat to them winning the Game of Destiny and becoming Mega Man King, and thus decide to set up a truce during the final level so they can overwhelm Model A. Aile or Vent stops them from actually getting to fight Model A, however. [[spoiler:The secret ending implies this alliance is maintained following the death of Albert.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Thetis and Atlas, but especially Thetis. Atlas, as said above, wants humanity to become stronger, while Thetis wants to protect his beloved ocean from the progress of man. However, Atlas believes that humans can only evolve via suffering, hence her solution being to start a ForeverWar, and the ocean's safeguarding is '''''very''''' SeriousBusiness to Thetis. Given that they're using [[ArtifactOfDoom Model W]] to accomplish said goals, any noble intentions are undermined by their extreme methods.
* WhoWantsToLiveForever: [[spoiler:It is strongly implied that the four Mega Men's survival had to do with their having the Reploid Immortality data in the Hard Mode [[TheStinger Stinger]], though Thomas' line about human bodies might imply that if any of the enemy Mega Men were humans, they'd be using a BodyBackupDrive like Master Albert did.]]
* YouDontLookLikeYou: In an odd way: Their Megamerged forms, being from a single Biometal (instead of a merge with Model X from the first game), don't match the forms of the Guardians themselves, except for Atlas' [[note]]Like Fefnir's, her horns protrude from the front side of her helmet, while Model FX's come from the back side[[/note]] (although the same can be said for Girouette's form of Model Z). [[EpilepticTrees Some have theorized]] that it's because of the darker nature of the Enemy Mega Men's personalities, while some others theorized that the design evolved from their clothes [[note]]For example, Siarnaq's scarf evolves into Model P's faceguard while Thetis' IdiotHair evolves into Model L's single water-thruster, unlike Model LX's "twintails"[[/note]].
* YouFool: Aeolus is quite fond of this phrase, to the point that addressing Grey/Ashe as "fools" becomes his CatchphraseInsult.
[[/folder]]

!!''ZX'' Pseudoroids

The main 8 bosses for the first game; each of them houses half of the Biometals you can acquire (in this case, the 4 Guardian Biometals).

[[folder:All of Them]]

* AlphabeticalThemeNaming: Their names start with the letter of the Biometal they hold.
* AnimalMotifs: All of them have one, just like the countless Maverick bosses that preceded them.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Attacking their weak point will deal more damage to them. The catch: it houses their respective Biometals, and [[DisadvantageousDisintegration attacking those points will damage the Biometals, making them having less weapon energy bar]]. Thus, the game [[GameplayGrading grades you]] based on how much you hit it -- the less, the better, and thus the trope is actually ''{{inverted}}'' if you're going for a good-conditioned Biometal. In fact, in the Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, the aptly titled "Laser Surgery" achievement is obtained after successfully getting a Lvl. 4 Victory (as in never hitting the weak point ''once'').
* BackFromTheDead: All of them return for the BossRush in Slither Inc. despite losing their Biometal fragments. It's implied that Serpent used Model W's power to revive them, judging from how several claim they will "become one" with it upon their defeat. It's also mentioned in early conversations with the Guardians that the Pseudoroids possess natural regenerative powers as a result of Slither Inc. experimentation, which is why Vent/Aile can encounter them again after defeating four other Pseudoroids first.
* DegradedBoss: A variant -- {{Mook|s}} versions of each Pseudoroid appear in the sequel, with their Secret Disk entries revealing they possess the Pseudoroid DNA of the fallen bosses.
* DubNameChange: Similar to the way "Irregular" was changed to "Maverick", "Falseroid" became "Pseudoroid" over the translation.
* ElementalRockPaperScissors: A mechanic carried over from the Zero series. Fire Pseudoroids are weak to Thunder, Thunder to Ice, and Ice to Fire.
* FireIceLightning:
** AnIcePerson: Lurerre and Leganchor
** PlayingWithFire: Fistleo and Flammole (the latter also has DishingOutDirt)
** NonElemental: Purprill and Protectos; they have no special elemental attribute, but therefore no weakness.
** ShockAndAwe: Hivolt and Hurricaune (the latter also has BlowYouAway)
* MeaningfulName: As detailed in ZX Advent, Reploids were rebuilt between ''Zero'' and ''ZX'' to be more similar to humans design-wise to lessen the differences between the two. These ones were intentionally designed with more monstrous, combat-oriented bodies that have no power of their own, [[HumanHardDrive forcefully drawing their power from Biometal fragments instead]]; thus a "pseudo-Reploid". Their original name, Falseroid, applies for the same reasons.
* MyDeathIsOnlyTheBeginning: After their rematch fights their souls are absorbed into Model W, bringing the Biometal closer to completion.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Hurricaune and Lurerre are both female.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Hivolt the Raptoroid]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hiboltart.jpg]]
-->Voiced by: Kousuke Ito
One of the Model H Pseudoroids, who guards Area E - Power Plant. He has nothing but contempt for Vent/Aile and spends most of his time condescending at them, but his strength backs up his arrogance.

----

* AttackDrone: Hivolt can detach his legs to form these, which will then act as either OrbitingParticleShield or WeakTurretGun.
* ClipItsWings: His Biometal fragment is contained in his wings.
* CuriosityKilledTheCast: References the classic phrase if he defeats Vent/Aile in their first fight.
-->''"Curiosity got the cat, and your curiosity just got you."''
* DashAttack: One of his default moves.
* EmergingFromTheShadows: A variant. He first appears silhouetted by the setting sun on top of a wrecked generator before taking flight and descending.
* EnergyWeapon: His [[LimitBreak EX Skill]]. Hivolt flies up to the top of the stage and fires alternating laser beams from his leg cannons and wings. In the ''ZX'' manga, these beams are powerful enough to tear through buildings and carve great tracks in the earth.
* EvilLaugh: Gives a pretty haughty one before he uses his EX Skill.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: As he's being pulled into Model W after his rematch, he proudly states he doesn't fear death.
* FeatheredFiend: He's based on an eagle.
* {{Pride}}: He thinks pretty highly of himself. Aile even lampshades how chatty he is. It ends up being his FatalFlaw in the ''ZX'' manga, as Vent taking shots at his ego is part of what gets him killed.
* RazorWings: Uses his wings as giant blades for one attack, with his third swing unleashing a RazorWind projectile very similar to Sage Harpuia's (and by extension Model H's) similar triple slash and Sonic Boom combo.
* ShockAndAwe: He charges his attacks with lightning.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lurerre the Abysroid]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lurerre_the_abysroid.jpg]]
-->Voiced by: Creator/KiyomiAsai
One of the Model L Pseudoroids, who guards the research station in Area F - Lake. Extremely vain and cruel, she supports Serpent like a deranged fangirl and has no time for anything that stands in his way.

----

* AttackItsWeakPoint: In addition to the lure's head, her larger body can be damaged while its mouth is open, although it doesn't take any more than the lure does.
* AnIcePerson: She uses ice arrows, drops ice shards that turn into spikes when they hit the ground, and can fire an ice-based WaveMotionGun.
* DyingCurse: As she's defeated in her rematch, she only states Serpent can have her soul while hoping that Vent/Aile get squished like bugs.
* DynamicEntry: Do enough damage to her lure to cause it to break or just stay too close to the right side of the field for too long, and Lurerre's giant fish body ''will'' lunge out to try and bite you.
* LuringInPrey: While she initially appears to be [[OurMermaidsAreDifferent a mermaid Pseudoroid]], getting drawn close enough or dealing direct damage to her weak point will reveal that its just a lure, and her real body is a massive anglerfish robot [[BehindTheBlack hiding offscreen]]. In the ''ZX'' manga, she actually disguises her lure as an injured maid in order to trick Vent into coming out on the ice before revealing herself and dragging him underwater.
* MakingASplash: Both her lure and her true body can create a whirlpool that can drag Vent/Aile in, allowing the other half of their body to unleash an attack.
* MoodSwinger: More pronounced in the Japanese dub, but she jumps back and forth between acting cutesy and innocent (introducing herself as "the lovely Pseudoroid Model L) and violently describing how she's about to "take you apart, piece by piece" mid-sentence. It plays into her deceptive nature.
* PsychoSupporter: She heaps praise on Serpent, and most of her anger is directed at you for disrupting his plans.
* RemovingTheHeadOrDestroyingTheBrain: Her Biometal is contained in her lure's head. Ironic, since its only the lure and not the actual Pseudoroid.
* UnusualWeaponMounting: Lurerre can fire a giant missile from her (real body's) mouth. [[HoistByHisOwnPetard You can blow it up while it's still in her mouth to deal huge damage to her.]]
* WaterIsWomanly: She can form a whirlpool and looks like a mermaid when her real body is actually a giant anglerfish robot. She acts like an innocent girl but is in truth violent and aggressive.
* WaveMotionGun: Her [[LimitBreak EX Skill]]. Lurerre fires a large ice beam capped with a reflective shield from her lure's hands. [[BeamOWar You can try to push it back at her with your shots]]; if you succeed, you'll deal quite some damage.
* YouWillNotEvadeMe: Uses a whirlpool to draw you closer so her real body can hit you.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fistleo the Predatoroid]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fistleo_the_predatoroid.jpg]]
-->Voiced by: Takashi Matsuyama
One of the Model F Pseudoroids, who guards the residential district in Area G he and his Mavericks attacked. Living only for fighting, he's driven solely by growing stronger and putting himself to the test.

----

* AlwaysAccurateAttack: One of Fistleo's attacks has him conjuring grey orbs that instantly appear in your position. The first one only appears in front of him, though, so you'll have a time to react.
* ArtisticLicenseMartialArts: Uses his own blend of kenpō named "Reioh-ken" (literally meaning "Soul Center Fist").
* BloodKnight: The entire reason he attacked Area G was to draw out someone who he could fight to the death with. [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor He got his wish.]]
* CounterAttack: After he takes sufficient damage, Fistleo will occasionally turn so that his back is facing the screen with a BattleAura. If he's attacked in this state, he will immediately retaliate.
* DashAttack: He's got a couple, and his [[LimitBreak EX Skill]] is one; he cloaks himself in flames and blasts across the middle of the screen, fireballs trailing above and below him.
* DrunkWithPower: He followed Serpent to become stronger and hone his own skills, and being killed and resurrected doesn't change him at all. In fact, he's almost ''ecstatic'' as he's absorbed into Model W at the end of his rematch, only able to marvel at the "power of a god."
* GracefulLoser: He's happy to be defeated in his rematch, as the power he feels as he's drawn into Model W is what he was searching for.
* HealThyself: He can heal himself in-between attacks, presumably by drawing on his Model F fragment directly, though he can't move while doing so. The amount of health he restores is doubled in Hard Mode, and he can spam this move several times in a row.
* {{Kiai}}: Shouts battlecries as he uses his more powerful attacks.
* KingOfBeasts: He's inspired by a lion.
* MegatonPunch: One of Fistleo's moves is a massive lunging haymaker that, when [[PunchAWall connecting with the wall]], will cause a shockwave.
* PlayingWithFire: He can create fireballs and leave a trail of flames behind him.
* RemovingTheHeadOrDestroyingTheBrain: His Biometal fragment is contained in his head.
* {{Shoryuken}}: Has one that he can use to bring fiery debris down on you from the ceiling.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: In Aile's storyline, he's the first to reveal that the "Maverick raids" deliberately left survivors who would have the potential to become Model W's vessel before any of the main villains or even ''Advent'' fully confirmed this.
* SuperStrength: He can punch clean through two large pillars of rubble with one strike. In the ''ZX'' manga, he demonstrates his power by tearing a building in two with one hit.
* ThisCannotBe: Upon being defeated the first time, he expresses disbelief that despite possessing the "power of a god" he was beaten by a [[JustAKid little boy/girl]].
* TheUnfettered: In Vent's storyline, he states he will do whatever it takes to gain power, which is why he chose to aid Serpent in exchange for being upgraded into a Pseudoroid.
* WasOnceAMan: It's all but explicitly stated that like Purprill, he was once an ordinary Maverick who got upgraded into a Pseudoroid.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Purprill the Mandroid]]
[[quoteright:272:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/purprillart.jpg]]
-->Voiced by: Creator/WataruTakagi
One of the Model P Pseudoroids, who guards the abandoned amusement park he invaded in the past. Specifically, he was a Maverick who took part in the raid that orphaned Vent/Aile, and was rewarded by being upgraded into a Pseudoroid.

----

* AllYourPowersCombined: In the ''ZX'' manga, he gets his hands on Models H, L, and F and merges with them to power up to the maximum, [[PowerUpFullColorChange gaining a silver body]] alongside increased speed, defense, and strength that lets him easily overpower Vent. Unfortunately for him, [[SuperPowerMeltdown his body can't handle all four Biometals and it starts breaking down on him on its own]], letting Vent finish him off.
* ArchEnemy: Aside from Serpent, Vent/Aile made him theirs because of the role he played in their mother's death.
* AxCrazy: Purprill is a hyperactive maniac.
* DrunkWithPower: Even Model P is disgusted with how carelessly he flaunted his own power.
* EliteMook: Was formerly a generic Maverick, until Serpent uplifted him into his current body. Overlaps with MookPromotion.
* {{Expy}}: To [[VideoGame/MegaMan8 Clown Man]]. Both are childish and silly robots fought in an AmusementParkOfDoom, use ExtendableArms to attack from a bar in the ceiling and can also compact themselves in a circular shape to spin around.
* ExtendableArms: His hands can detach on cables to lift himself to the ceiling.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: After his rematch, he rather nonchalantly states it was nice to be back for even a little while before willingly giving up his soul to Model W.
* AHandfulForAnEye: Purprill can attack by throwing the sand in his arena.
* KillerGorilla: His loose design basis, or some variety of mandrill or monkey as he has a tail.
* LaughingMad: Giggles and laughs throughout his fight, and cackles like a lunatic during his final attack.
* MadBomber: Uses a number of explosives, some of which bounce around the ground.
* NonElemental: Just like Model P, Purprill has no elemental ability. He can, however, still mimic Model P's ability by turning into a giant [[SpinAttack shuriken]].
* PunnyName: His name is Purprill, and [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin he's a purple mandrill]].
* SmallNameBigEgo: He's one of Serpent's elite Pseudoroids, but he's cocky and quick to boast that Vent/Aile has no hope of defeating him since he's an "executive officer".
* SpinAttack: His [[LimitBreak EX Skill]]. He curls himself into a giant shuriken, energy blades extending from his wrists and elbows, and bounces around the room like a ricocheting buzzsaw.
* StockAnimalBehavior: Climbing and hanging from the ceiling.
* VerbalTic: Tends to intersperse his dialogue with "ook".

[[folder:Hurricaune the Wolveroid]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hurricaune_the_wolveroid.jpg]]
-->Voiced by: Hisayo Yanai
One of the Model H Pseudoroids, who guards the prison in Area I - Confinement. Spiteful and sadistic, she intends to torture the people captured there until Vent/Aile show up to free them.

----
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Her Biometal fragment is contained within her neck.
* BlowYouAway: Whereas Hivolt focuses more on the [[ShockAndAwe lightning]] aspects of Model H's powerset, she focuses more on the wind portion, creating powerful tornadoes.
** GroundPound: The end of this move sends out 2 electric sparks as she touches the ground from the blade that serves as her tail.
* DyingCurse: Proclaims that she'll never stop trying to kill Vent/Aile even as she's absorbed into Model W after her rematch.
* HelicopterBlender: She can use her helicopter blades to slice up her foes.
* InASingleBound: She can leap up and ''off'' the screen easily during the fight.
* LaserBlade: Projects them from her hands, neck, and feet to serve as propeller blades for her attacks. Her tail is another blade in itself, adding to her mythological inspiration.
* LightningReveal: Once you reach her boss room, you walk to the door on the other side before lightning flashes multiple times, finally revealing her on the opposite side.
* RazorWind: Many of her attacks. One that she fires from the propeller blades around her neck travels forward and splits in half to climb the wall in front of her.
* {{Sadist}}: Seems all too happy to torture the people interned in Area I. [[FridgeBrilliance Which makes sense, considering what the ultimate intent behind it was.]] She even tells Vent/Aile to make sure and scream for her.
* ShockAndAwe: Not as much as Hivolt, but one of her attacks causes damaging sparks of electricity to dance along the ground and ceiling when she lands.
* SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids: Mockingly calls Aile a "little heroine" for coming to save the kidnapped citizens, while mockingly telling Vent "chivalry is dead."
* SpectacularSpinning: All of her attacks. One specific move has Hurricaune spin her whole lower body like a drill [[DeathFromAbove to descend on your head.]]
* TornadoMove: Loves these. One of hers is her [[LimitBreak EX Skill]]; Hurricaune jumps to the centre of the room and whips up a huge cyclone [[YouWillNotEvadeMe that drags Vent/Aile into it]], firing RazorWind up and down the vortex. The cyclone is actually quite similar to Model H's charged tornado move.
* WickedWeasel: Specifically, between her design and her wind motif she seems to be based on the Kamaitachi, a Japanese ''youkai'' She's also, as her name suggests, based on a wolverine, the largest member of the weasel family.

[[folder:Leganchor the Gelroid]]
[[quoteright:321:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/legankerart.jpg]]
-->Voiced by: Osamu Ryutani
One of the Model L Pseudoroids, who guards Area J - Underwater City and the research data contained there. He acts like an angry, senile old man, berating Vent/Aile for being youths who cannot comprehend the world.
----
* AnIcePerson: Like Lurerre, he has half of the Model L Biometal inside him, thus giving him access to Ice-based attacks. He can even create smaller ice dragons like Leviathan and Model L.
* AttackDrone: He can deploy jellyfish on either side of him that fire shots at you from above (or below, if you've wall-jumped out of the water). You can destroy them with a few hits. Crosses over with FlunkyBoss.
* CombatPragmatist: Leganchor coats the floors and walls with ice up to your maximum jump height ([[ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman sans Model LX]]), hampering your movement and keeping you from wall jumping. You can melt them with Model F, but he'll re-coat them after a while.
* CombatTentacles: He has 'em, and touching them while they're deployed or retracted freezes you.
* ElectricJellyfish: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]]; he's a freezing (gigantic) jellyfish instead.
* EvilOldFolks: Leganchor is halfway senile and often comments how YouthIsWastedOnTheDumb (referring to the heroes, of course).
* IgnoranceIsBliss: Outright says this when Vent/Aile call him and the villains out on lying to the public and thus unworthy of any respect.
* MakingASplash: One of his attacks involves rising out of the water and crashing back down to create massive waves that buffet Vent/Aile [[YouWillNotEvadeMe if they try to climb out of the water out of his reach.]]
* RemovingTheHeadOrDestroyingTheBrain: His Biometal fragment is contained in the turbines connected to his head.
* SkullForAHead: Leganchor, though his actual head is above it.
* StationaryBoss: Leganchor is so huge that he doesn't actually move around his boss room and just spams his attacks to where Vent/Aile is, save for one move where he'll rise out of the water to crash back down, releasing giant water waves, [[YouWillNotEvadeMe if they try to climb out of the water out of his reach.]]
* SuperStrength: In the ''ZX'' manga, he's strong enough to grab and pull the entire docked and damaged Guardian Base into the water in an attempt to sink it and drown everyone onboard.
* TornadoMove: He'll use his turbines to draw you into a vortex that slowly pulls you into him, dealing damage and freezing you. [[SmashingSurvival You can wriggle your way to freedom if you get caught.]]

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/flammarlart.jpg]]
-->Voiced by: Kouhei Fukuhara
One of the Model F Pseudoroids, who heads the volcanic mining operation in Area K - Lava site. He's fiercely loyal to his job, intending to keep digging until the Biometal signature he detects is unearthed.

----

* AIBreaker: Doing precise wall jumps causes Flammole to turn around over and over again. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ylmu1ZGivLY It looks like he's dancing to the boss music.]]
* AnArmAndALeg: His Biometal fragment is contained in his arms. Not hitting them is difficult, since they take up roughly 2/3 of his entire body.
* ArmCannon: Flammole's arms, which can fire contact-expanding fireballs, jets of flame, and double as [[ThisIsADrill tunnelling drills]].
* DishingOutDirt: Digs through the ground and sends boulders flying up from his burrowing.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: When Flammole is killed, he remarked that the Biometal signal that he received was not what he thought it would be. WordOfGod (i.e Inti Creates staff) confirmed that it's meant to be a "giveaway". And note that, in the map, Area K (where Flammole is fought) is directly above Area N (where Model O is found).
* MagmaMan: A few of his moves, including his [[LimitBreak EX Skill]], where he sends geysers of lava up from beneath you with a series of heavy [[GroundPunch Ground Punches]], highly reminiscent of Fefnir and Model F's own. The third punch sends two up in front and behind you, and can only be avoided by standing still.
* MoleMiner: Of course.
* PileBunker: Seems to have one in each arm, and during his EX Skill you can see them deploy from his elbows.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: The smallest of the eight Pseudoroids - barely shorter than you, even - and no less powerful for it.
* PlayingWithFire: He can launch fire waves in a flamethrower motion out of his arms.
* YouHaveFailedMe: He gets killed by Prometheus contemptuously in the ''ZX'' manga for unknowingly leading Vent right to the room in Slither Inc. where Model W is located.

[[caption-width-right:350:What's the difference between a Goreroid and All Japan Goith?]]
-->Voiced by: Keikō Sakai
One of the Model P Pseudoroids, who guards Area L - Research Lab. Proud of his defensive power and size, his body contains a remaining data log from the original Guardians research team.

----

* ArmCannon: His hands can fire drill-shaped homing missiles or bombs.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: His Biometal fragment is contained in his belly.
* BigBulkyBomb: His rhino horn (the larger one) is actually a devastating warhead that he fires as his [[LimitBreak EX Skill]]. The only way to avoid it [[NiceJobFixingItVillain is to huddle behind Protectos himself.]]
* DeflectorShields: Protectos can conjure one, courtesy of the Model P stored in him.
* GroundPound: Protectos' arena has two platforms to jump up and down from, plus the ground. At the end of his movement cycle, he'll go up or down one to catch up with the player. But if they're beneath him when he's on the top platform, he'll drop down to try and crush them with his gigaton body.
* HumanHardDrive: Protectos serves this role, like ''Zero 1's'' Ganeshariff.
* LargeAndInCharge: Seems to be considered the military leader in charge of Area L's war zone backdrop, and he's (bulk-wise) the largest and heaviest of all the Pseudoroids.
* MightyGlacier: Protectos moves very slowly, but his ample firepower is nothing to laugh at.
* NonElemental: Similar to fellow Model P Pseudoroid Purprill, Protectos doesn't get any elemental ability. He can still use Model P's power via creating a DeflectorShield in the same fashion as one of Model P's charged abilities..
* RhinoRampage: Definitely, though he doesn't do any charges.
* StuffBlowingUp: Protectos throws out a lot of explosives in his fight. He fires three varieties of bombs: two with vertical and horizontal blasts, and a third one that vanishes from sight and detonates when Vent/Aile get close. His ordinace is sufficiently powerful that in the ''ZX'' manga he singlehandedly brought down the Guardian Base himself.
* UndyingLoyalty: Serves Serpent faithfully and promises to crush any opposition beneath his feet.

!!''ZXA'' Pseudoroids

The main 8 bosses for the second game; they house fragments of Model W, unlike in the first game.

[[folder:All of Them]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zxapesudoroids.jpg]]

* AnimalMotifs: Like their predecessors and Mavericks before them.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Unlike the first game, you can freely attack them, as there'll be no penalty for doing it. Not all of them have a weak point, however.
* BackFromTheDead: Albert reveals their souls are bound to Model W and thus he can revive them at will, doing so for the BossRush within Ouroboros.
* CripplingOverspecialization: All of them as A-Trans forms; they have their uses, but once you have the Mega Man forms you probably won't be using them unless you ''have'' to.
* DoNotRunWithAGun: Many of their copied forms prohibited you from shooting while running.
* DubNameChange: 6 of the 8 were named differently in Japan.
* NotCompletelyUseless: You either use them when you're just having fun or when you need to solve puzzles. The Mega Man forms are much faster than any of them, that's why.
** Except Buckfire, whose speed and higher jumps makes him a comfortable method of getting from Point A to Point B when you didn't unlock enough beacons. The fact that you can spam his three-directional shots that ALSO do DamageOverTime to virtually all enemies and bosses in the game also makes him a good choice for some boss battles, most notably Queenbee. His only real weakness is his gigantic hitbox.
** Vultron is similar, due to the fact that his glide can blitz past a lot of obstacles when used right and he can stick to walls indefinitely. His only real weakness is large hitbox and the lack of a projectile (though he does get an omni-directional short-range sound attack).
** Argoyle & Ugoyle also are fine forms to use when transversing the environment, as their regular attack is a spammable bomb move. They don't quite have the mobility that the Mega Man forms do, but they're certainly servicable as forms to use.
** In water, it's largely up to the player whether to use Model L or Chronoforce. Despite his bulky frame, Chronoforce's projectile attack covers a large distance and does impressive damage, any attack performed above him does not damage him at all, period, and he's faster on the horizontal plane than Model L. The only times you're required to use Model L are in non-combat areas were he needs to fit into corridors that Chronoforce simply can't, and after getting Model L, the only major water section of the game left is in the penultimate level, which largely plays to Chronoforce's strengths. That's not to say Model L is ''inferior,'' but Chronoforce definitely has it better than some of his allies. Additionally, he's a godsend in the final boss fight, where his immunity to attacks above him trivializes [[spoiler: Albert's]] most difficult to avoid attack, and his Time Bomb does a good job giving you breathing room. [[spoiler: However, using Time Bomb on hard mode will prompt Albert to hit back with his own.]]
* SecretAIMoves: Hoo boy. You can bet at least one of their moves to be unusable as their copied forms, but major points go to Queenbee: The copied form of her lacks her signature [[WalkingArmory beehive armory.]]
* SelfImposedChallenge: Beat them in certain ways and you can acquire medals, three for each Pseudoroid for a total of 24 medals.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Hedgeshock and Queenbee are both female Psuedoroids.
* UndyingLoyalty: While some of them are definitely more sadistic and take pleasure out of the job than others, all but possibly [[DefeatMeansFriendship Vulturon]] are nothing if not loyal to Master Albert.

[[folder:Buckfire the Gaxelleroid ''(Dearburn the Gazeroid)'']]
[[quoteright:281:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zxabuckfire.png]]
-->Voiced by: Creator/KenjiNomura (JP), Charles Glover (EN)
One of the Pseudoroids that attacks the train delivering Model A to Legion HQ. Unlike Prometheus and Pandora, he's not very impressed by Grey/Ashe becoming a Mega Man and tries to take Model A back by force.

----

* AttackItsWeakPoint: His mane at the back of his head. His Silver Medal requires ''only'' attacking his mane to beat him.
* ArmCannon: Buckfire has two of 'em.
* {{Bambification}}: Averted; he's an angry brute in the same vein as ''X2'''s Flame Stag.
* BoomerangComeback: His charge attack lets him use the blades around his arms as these.
* BoringButPractical: His A-Trans form is exactly identical to his boss fight, sans CollisionDamage. His A-Trans form is also pretty much just a bigger version of Model A with a spread gun, some melee attacks, a different wall jump, and a fire affinity. It's for these exact reasons that he ties with Argoyle and Ugoyle and Queenbee as the most useful A-Trans form in the game. The game was built off Model-A's capabilities, and his capabilities closely match Model A's.
* BraidsBeadsAndBuckskins: Has a Native American motif.
* DashAttack: Has one (see HornAttack below). It doesn't go that much faster than his normal run speed.
* DavidVersusGoliath: His Bronze Medal is obtained from being defeated by Hedgeshock's [[RollingAttack Rolling Dash or Rolling Spike]], making him the Goliath (one of the taller/larger Psuedoroids) to Hedgeshock's David (being the smallest one by far).
* DiscOneNuke: Buckfire is the first boss whose data is copied and is the LightningBruiser amongst the Pseudoroids, able to move as fast as Model A's dash regularly and packs a mean punch. He'll be the most useful form for all-purpose combat until Grey/Ashe copy their first Mega Man data, and will stay one of the best Pseudoroid forms for general battles for the whole game.
* DivingKick: Buckfire has a potent one that can break weak walls. The animation shows he collects his flames at the sole of his kicking foot and concentrates it into a sharp cone of fire that smashes whatever's in the way as he dives.
* DumbMuscle: His concerns are his job and the retrieval of Model A, and not much else. His HulkSpeak doesn't portray him as being much smarter.
%%* {{Expy}}: Of Flame Stag from ''VideoGame/MegaManX2''.
* HornAttack: He can either dash with his horn pointed forward, or do a {{Shoryuken}} with his horn. The latter can break weak walls.
* HotBlade: He uses the Model W powering his body to superheat the blades on his arms.
%%* HulkSpeak: Buckfire speaks this way. Provide evidence
* KnightTemplar: Buckfire values order above all else. He gets pissed at Model A choosing a "Defective" like Grey as a Chosen One, and expresses confusion at the idea of a "girl" being a Mega Man if it's Ashe.
* MarathonBoss: When gunning for the gold medal, by Mega Man standards anyway. Collecting it requires you to damage him by only throwing kunai at him with Model P using the touch screen. Each shot of this does one point of damage, and for dealing one point of damage a hit and having to wait for MercyInvincibility to wind down after the fact, that's gonna take a while. Thankfully, the fact that Model P's touch-screen kunai requires BM energy is negated by waiting for the MercyInvincibility to wear off, so a sufficiently high gauge won't have to worry about running out anytime during the fight.
* PlayingWithFire: He unleashes flame arrows and his DivingKick is tipped with a powerful jet of flame. According to his Secret Disk, he can also superheat his blades.
* RocketJump: Buckfire's upwards horn attack can be used as this.
* SecretAIMoves: One of the only aversions in the whole game. Everything he can do in his boss fight, you can do. The closest thing to this is your inability to go from his RocketJump into his DivingKick.
* SpreadShot: His arrows do this, firing three shots that fan out straight ahead.
* SprintShoes: His default run speed when A-Transed into him is the same as most Megamerged forms' dash.
* WarmUpBoss: Buckfire is the first boss Ashe or Grey fight with Model A, and he's built to thus teach the player how to handle fights with enemies that don't go down in one or two charge shots. His movements may seem erratic, but he'll never ''intentionally'' run into you while dashing, so most of his boss fight revolves around pattern recognition; what each attack does, the tell before he uses it, and how to evade them. For bonus points, each attack he has allows for multiple methods of dodging them.

[[folder:Chronoforce the Xiphosuroid ''(Chronophos the Tridenroid)'']]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chronoforce.jpg]]
-->Voiced By: Masakazu Kohara (JP), Iain Gibb (EN)
A fatalistic Pseudoroid stationed in the Arctic Ice Floe area. When Atlas decides to drop Grey/Ashe into the water, he's all too eager to try and take Model A back from such "unworthy" Chosen Ones.

----

* AnIcePerson: He fires [[SpikeShooter ice arrows]] for his major offense.
* CripplingOverspecialization: If he's out of the water, he's out of luck. That said, his [[BulletTime Time Bomb]] still works, ironically making him the most useful of the A-Trans forms.
* DieLaughing: Even as he dies, he takes solace in the fact Grey/Ashe are just pawns dancing about and belts out a laugh.
* ElementalRockPaperScissors: His Gold Medal is obtained from being defeated by [[PlayingWithFire Queenbee's]] attacks only.
* TheFatalist: Chronoforce has a lot to say about the inevitability of death and how everyone's time runs out, likely stemming from his own powers. Both times he's beaten, he just mocks Grey/Ashe about their inevitable failures.
* FlunkyBoss: Chronoforce can summon miniatures of himself from his shell which launch themselves at Grey/Ashe.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Getting his Silver Medal requires the player to finish him off with Buckfire's DashAttack, which will result in this.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Chronoforce's top shell is impervious to spikes and most attacks. [[spoiler:It makes two of the FinalBoss' otherwise annoying-to-avoid attacks a trivial matter.]]
* SandIsWater: Being a horseshoe crab, he can dig into and submerge his lower body in sand to protect his vulnerable underbelly before unleashing his [[FlunkyBoss small copies]], and he'll swim through it as easily as water in an attempt to ram you.
* SecretAIMoves: Creating mini-Chronoforces to launch at you, and his [[LimitBreak EX Skill]] where he swims to the background and fires a MacrossMissileMassacre at you before rewinding time to hit you with it in reverse.
* SpreadShot: Of the "explosive" variety. During his time stop attack, the icicles he fires from the background will split into four on if they get close to Ashe or Grey, though they can still be dodged in this state. They will then re-materialize and reform when he rewinds time, making it harder to avoid them.
* SpikeShooter: His primary method of attack is firing icicles from his body.
* TimeMaster: Chronoforce proclaims himself as such. One of his attacks even include firing icicles that come in different directions, then reversing time to make the icicles fly back at him.
** BulletTime: Chronoforce's ChargedAttack lets you slow down time. The effect persists even if you change forms. During his boss battle, if he uses it he and his own attacks get a jump-up in speed, including his LimitBreak.
** VeryHighVelocityRounds: Your bullets will work as usual while the time slows down.
* ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman: He has ice attacks, an invulnerable shell, and similar mobility to Model L in the water (with a much longer water dash), [[FishOutOfWater but outside of the water he's dead weight.]] Pressing any movement or attack button just makes him grunt with effort and twitch slightly.
** LethalJokeCharacter: That said, while he can't move at all on land, he is immune to attacks from above and his charge shot, the [[BulletTime Time Bomb]], is very useful. You can even change form after it's activated.

[[folder:Rospark the Floroid ''(Rosepark the Floweroid)'']]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zxarospark.png]]
-->Voiced By: Creator/KunihikoYasui (JP) Tom Clark (EN)
A campy Pseudoroid who guards the Tower of Verdure, sacrificing unfortunate intruders to the Model W within.

----

* AmbiguouslyGay: Rospark may be a robot, but he sure [[CampGay acts the part]]. A rose-based Pseudoroid with a clownish voice who enjoys fighting Grey while acting like Ashe is full of cooties, wields electrified vine whips as a weapon, has a large, pink ''very phallic'' rod at his groin area (it, and the one on his head, are parts of a lightning cannon), and have we already said that he [[BaraGenre is a rose?]] Is there any other way to take that?
* CripplingOverSpecialization: Unlike Chronoforce, whose uselessness on land is undercut by the handful of useful powers he can use in a pinch, Rospark as an A-Trans form is functionally useless in his bulb form. His jump barely gets him a foot off the ground, unable to even vault over small ledges, and his movement speed is slower than even [[MightyGlacier Bifrost]]. His attacks being limited to a close-range whip and a strictly-vertical bullet attack puts him at an even bigger disadvantage. And his flower form, while more versatile in attack options, is limited to only being used in areas with climbable ropes (and Queenbee, Vulturon, and Model H can make such platforming redundant in all but the longest such sections where they have no safe place to land and/or regain weapon energy for flight).
* EffeminateMisogynisticGuy: He is quite the [[AddedAlliterativeAppeal flamboyant ferrously floral fellow]] (see AmbiguouslyGay above), and he treats Grey and Ashe more differently than each other than almost any other character in the game does. Which is to say, [[SitcomArchnemesis he just ]]''[[SitcomArchnemesis really ]]''[[SitcomArchnemesis hates Ashe]]. Meanwhile, he doesn't seem bothered by Grey or any other male character at all, even when he gives a Raider a chance to [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere slip away]] or he's killing him.
* HealThyself: He recovers some of his health while charging up his DesperationAttack, presumably because he's using some of the electricity he absorbs to fire it for that purpose.
* MirrorMatch: The subject of his Gold Medal, which requires you to knock him out while only dealing damage while transformed into him. Considering [[CollisionDamage which one of you takes damage if you bump into each other]], that's a bit of a tall order since he can hog the wires all he wants. It's important to remember that the condition says you can only damage him while transformed into him, not that you're not allowed to use any other transformations at all, so you can level the playing field significantly by dropping Chronoforce's Time Bomb. Also don't forget that the thrown projectile attack while on a vine deals more damage than the head projectile while in Bulb form or vine slapping in either form.
* PlantPerson: He is [[SomethingAboutARose based on the rose]].
* SecretAIMoves: In his flower form, the electrical beam attack he fires across the screen.
* ShockAndAwe: He can charge his [[VineTentacles vine whips]] and thorns with electricity that not only increase their damage, but can increase his attack range by electrifying the vine he touches with the former and creating a field between where the three charged thorns land. His EX Skill is him unleashing an electricity-based WaveMotionTuningFork, and once its finished any vines that were in its path will receive an electrical discharge and shock Grey/Ashe if they were touching the vine rather safely between them.
* SitcomArchnemesis: He starts developing this towards Ashe in her story, first being annoyed about how she distracts him from killing the Raider Gary before getting angry at listening to her talk, then expressing disbelief at being killed, to not at ''all'' being thrilled to see her again on Ouroboros and having to fight her again, to finally [[LargeHam loudly]] expressing his desire to never see her again as he's defeated for the final time.
* SpikeShooter: He can shoot rose thorns in either form.
* SpreadShot: Rospark's thorns are of the Spray Bursts variety in flower form. When charged, they create an electrical field between the points of impact and damage anything within it.
* StanceSystem: Rospark has 2 forms: bulb form and flower form, the latter accessible by climbing ropes. He spends the majority of the boss fight in flower form and only turns to bulb form when he drops off the vines for either the occasional attack or Grey/Ashe managed to nail him with a [[ElementalRockPaperScissors ice attack]] that hit-stuns him off. His Bronze Medal can only be won if he's killed while in his bulb form.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Admits this upon his first defeat to both Grey and Ashe, though he's more loudly dramatic about how Grey's power was "so fiery" while he can only mutter about how Ashe has "the nerve" while in disbelief about her strength.
* VineTentacles: Rospark can weaponize his thorny vines like this. He can even [[LightningLash electrify]] it.
* WaveMotionTuningFork: As a boss, Rospark for his [[DesperationAttack EX Skill]] can use the rods on his head and crotch to fire off an electric laser.
* WhamLine: In Ashe's story, he outright states that the "new king" he's sacrificing people to is [[ArtifactOfDoom Biometal Model W]], a shocker for first-time players fresh from ''ZX'' since by all appearances Model W was already destroyed, even before they see the Model W Core the next room over to confirm it.

[[folder:Vulturon the Condoroid ''(Condorock the Vulturoid)'']]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zxacondorrock.jpg]]
-->Voiced By: Creator/KishowTaniyama (JP), Iain Gibb (EN)
A guitar-wielding Pseudoroid fought at the Scrapyard, who boasts of using his power to reanimate fallen Mavericks and awaken the Model W fragment within he's guarding.

----

* CloseRangeCombatant: Aside from the hazards deployed from his arena, his moves are pretty much limited to a short-range sonic wave and using his guitar as a club. This carries over to his A-Trans form.
* {{Expy}}: As an undead guitarist with a crazy rocker personality, Vulturon is based on fellow Capcom antagonist [[VideoGame/DarkStalkers Lord Raptor]].
* FeatheredFiend: Based on either a vulture or a condor, depending on which part of his name you want to run with.
* TheFightingNarcissist: Vulturon always wants his fights to be "rocking".
* {{Flight}}: Vultron has a glide that he can only use to go from side to side (though his wall-climbing ability can help compensate with proper position before use), but it has fast movement and will last as long as he has weapon energy to spare.
* FlunkyBoss: Frequently summons literal trash {{mooks}} called Funky Junk that you saw in the stage, as well as amp-like objects from the ceiling that have no database entry and therefore no particular name.
* GracefulLoser: Vulturon shows shades of this after his rematch, telling Grey/Ashe he's "gonna retire" and for them to "carry on with the show and give 'em a Mega performance".
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: The Silver Medal requires defeating him with Model H's Sonic Boom, which will inevitably result in this once landed.
* InstrumentalWeapon: His guitar can project barriers, raise dead machines, and control the machinery and traps in the background of his stage.
* InterfaceScrew: Being too close to his arena's speakers can cause the player to temporarily have their left/right controls inverted or their weapons disabled, similar to the radar dishes from Area-L in the first game.
* MarathonBoss: When chasing the Gold Medal, anyway. Vulturon's Gold Medal requires you to knock him out using nothing but the Giga Crush. Thankfully, considering his [[FlunkyBoss tendencies]], this only counts for him personally, so you can destroy the various things he summons any way you find convenient. Not so thankfully, the Giga Crush can only be used while your Biometal energy is full, doesn't do a whole lot of damage for the time it takes said energy to recharge, and poor timing can result in things dragging out even longer as a result of how frequently Vulturon turns invincible and teleports, let alone if he just wanders too far off screen. What can cause things to drag out '''significantly''' longer is if you've picked up capacity upgrades for your Biometal energy, as the Giga Crush will '''still''' chew up the entire gauge, '''still''' cannot be used unless it's full, and '''still''' recharges at the same pokey pace it always has, with no adjustments for its increased length. Woe unto you if you've collected all four of them, as then you'll be in for the long, long haul. Oh, and remember that W Tank from ZX? Yeah, that's gone, and the things he summons will never drop items, so you'll get no graces on that point. There is a reason why the Bronze Medal simply requires the fight lasting more than two minutes before defeating Vulturon, as it's impossible to get the Gold Medal without also qualifying for this one.
* MetalHead: Vulturon, fitting his theme, likes head-banging. It also helps that he's voiced by Kishō Taniyama.
* MusicalAssassin: Vulturon fights with a guitar-shaped instrument and 2 amplifiers. With those things he can animate pieces of junk, create a barrier of sound force, [[InterfaceScrew screw with your movement]] or just smack you with it.
* {{Necromancer}}: Of a mechanical variety. His guitar playing can reanimate zombie Mavericks. Crosses over with FlunkyBoss.
* NonElemental: Though technically it would be [[MakeSomeNoise sound]].
* RazorWind: Not quite, but the sound wave he fires to raise his zombies looks looks like one, and hurts you if it touches you.
* RockersSmashGuitars: At close range or as an A-Trans form, [[InstrumentalWeapon he can use his guitar as a melee weapon]]. It can smash weak blocks.
* SecretAIMoves: Basically everything he can do with his stage, from bringing down skull-shaped chandeliers to firing junk from his speakers like a cannon, and of course his zombie Mavericks.
* ThisCannotBe: Upon his first defeat, complete with a BigWhat.
-->''"What?! This was supposed to be Mega's death concert, not mine!"''
* WallCrawl: Not exactly. While most A-Trans/Megamerge forms can WallJump and slide down walls to slow their descent, Vulturon can cling to them indefinitely. [[ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman This enables him to move weights that would otherwise block your progress.]]

-->Voiced By: Mari Adachi (JP), Vicki Glass (EN)
A Pseudoroid guarding the Control Centre, which is overloading the thermal furnaces of the neighboring cities and will cause an explosion, while also guarding a Model W fragment contained there.

----

* AttackTheTail: Queenbee's weak point is her abdomen, which is typically protected by her beehive armory.
* AxCrazy: She really craves for destruction and terror, expressing excitement at the destruction the runaway thermal explosion will cause and eager to witness the upcoming cataclysm caused by Ouroboros.
* BeeAfraid: She's a Pseudoroid based off a bee/wasp and fights with lasers, missiles, and exploding bee drones. She's also likely the most AxCrazy of the bunch given her eagerness to watch destruction.
* BeeBeeGun: Deploys swarms of small bee drones from her beehive to hunt you down, which doubles as FlunkyBoss. Ironically, in order to get her Silver Medal you need to defeat her without destroying any of her bee drones.
* BewareMyStingerTail: Of course. She uses it mainly as a cannon rather than a stinger, though.
* BottomlessMagazines: Not just her arsenal, but when her armory is destroyed she'll fly around for a bit firing from her stinger cannon before flying off and returning with a new one.
* EnergyWeapon: Queenbee as a boss can fire many lasers from her beehive (think of a disco ball). She can also fire a strong laser downward that causes burning rubble to pop outward for her EX Skill.
%%* {{Expy}} Of Blast Hornet from ''VideoGame/MegaManX3''.
* {{Flight}}: Queenbee has true flight and can move in any direction, though it costs weapon energy for each "bounce". Carrying something doesn't slow her down at all.
* LadyOfWar: Queenbee speaks with a very refined tone and uses fancy vocabulary with her metaphors about bees and flowers, but she's very likely the most bloodthirsty of the Pseudoroids and fully willing to get her hands dirty in a fight.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: Queenbee as a boss can fire these out of her beehive.
* MarathonBoss: While chasing her Gold Medal, at least. It technically "only" requires never harming her beehive armory and always attacking her actual body, but in practice the only move in the game that can safely harm only her main body while attached to her beehive is the [[SmartBomb Giga Crush]]. While she doesn't have nearly as much of a tendency to turn invulnerable like Vulturon outside of her DesperationAttack, nearly all the issues previously applicable to fighting Vulturon with the Giga Crush (including requiring all BM energy to fire it and needing to wait for it to recharge, alongside how collecting BM upgrades only lengthens this recovery period) apply. And if you do try to use alternate methods, tt should also be mentioned that the beehive has a ''massive'' hitbox of its own and Queenbee's main body is right on top of it, and she likes to hug the top of the arena and even when descending barely provides enough space to properly aim for her main body without a high risk of hitting the beehive. This makes the waiting game for an opening even more hectic than just recharging the Giga Crush since it comes with the high chance of failure and starting again. Though like Vulturon you're free to deal with her missiles and bee drones however you want.
* PlayingWithFire: She fires heat lasers and fireballs.
* PlugNPlayTechnology: Her abdomen can telescope on itself to allow Queenbee to dock herself into tanks and containers, allowing to carry them from one location to the next. This is presumably how she connects with her armory.
* SecretAIMoves: The most egregious example. If you were hoping to use her beehive armory once you defeated her, prepare for disappointment.
* SocialDarwinist: She's completely on board with Albert's plan to reset the world to pave the way for the next step of evolution, and when defeated the second time expresses disgust at the idea of "colluding with the evolutionary inferior".
* WalkingArmory: Queenbee enters her boss fight toting a huge beehive tank containing cannons, drones, and missile launchers. It can be destroyed to do huge damage to her. The Bronze and Gold Medals respectively are earned for defeating her by ''only'' destroying her beehive to damage her and ''never'' attacking her beehive respectively.
* VerbalTic: Tends to refer to things in terms of bees and flowers, i.e "the nectar of terror".

[[folder:Hedgeshock the Erinaceroid ''(Tesrat the Hedgeroid)'']]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hedgeshock.jpg]]
--> Voiced By: Creator/KokoroKikuchi (JP), Lynn Harris (EN)
A hyperactive, childish Pseudoroid that guards the final room of the Mysterious Lab under "Mr. Albert's" orders and is annoyed by those who don't take her seriously.

----
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Has this dynamic with the other Pseudoroids, being the smallest of the bunch and acting the most immature of them all.
* DefiantToTheEnd: After her rematch, she states "Mr. Albert" will still kill Grey/Ashe regardless of her loss.
* DrowningPit: You can't drown, but she'll flood her arena on occasion to limit your mobility.
* FlunkyBoss: Can occasionally call in a pair of mouse robots to distract or harm you.
* FragileSpeedster: The smallest and quickest of the Pseudoroids, but not all that powerful with Model A even stating she's not very suited to taking on foes. Notably, one of her [[SelfImposedChallenge challenge missions]] requires you to fight her without using an A-Trans form, and she's the only boss this is asked of aside from the WarmUpBoss. The other is to defeat her as ''[[ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman Chronoforce]]'' when she floods her arena.
* HoistByHerOwnPetard:
** Her Silver Medal is to defeat her by punching one of her mouse robots into her.
** Her Bronze Medal has shades of this, as it requires you to defeat her with Chronoforce, which can only be done when she floods the room and allows him to move around freely to fire his ice arrows.
* IgnoredEnemy: She believes Grey/Ashe are dismissing her and it riles her up to give them "a shocking penalty." In fairness, Ashe really is mocking her, while Grey just tells her bluntly to get out of his way.
* MarathonBoss: Like Buckfire, claiming her Gold Medal requires you to knock her out using an attack that only does one point of damage, though this time it's the Buster in your untransformed state, meaning that getting around her will also be clunky at best.
* MotorMouth: Talks very quickly and tends to repeat her statements. It adds to her hyperactive and childish personality.
* RollingAttack: Is very is fond of this and has two versions: one where she rolls with her spikes extended, and the other with her spikes retracted. As an A-Trans form, the latter allows her to bust through regenerating gel in narrow passageways that would otherwise block Gray/Ashe from crawling through.
* ShockAndAwe: She can launch electric balls.
* SpreadShot: Her charge shot, of the Initial Spread variety. It fires up or down depending on whether you're on the ground or in the air.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bifrost_the_crocoroid.jpg]]
-->Voiced By: Creator/BanjoGinga (JP), Jeff Manning (EN)
A massive Pseudoroid guarding the Bio Lab and the army of Mechaniloids created there. Incredibly loyal to the future Mega Man King, he slaughters all intruders without hesitation.

----

* AdvancingWallOfDoom: He can perform this himself by opening his jaws 180˚ and walking forward.
* AttackTheTail: His weak point.
* BadVibrations: Bifrost is so huge and heavy that every time he takes a step, it's accompanied by a large stomp and a small shake of the screen to emphasize it.
* BreathWeapon: Has an icy breath that can freeze you solid, leaving you open to get stomped on. Doubles as a [[SecretAIMoves Secret AI Move.]]
* DeadlyDisc: Spits out a spiky razor disc from his mouth that climbs walls until it hits a ceiling.
* DefiantToTheEnd: Upon being defeated in the rematch, he only tells Grey/Ashe that being born in Albert's shadow means they "can never make a world of light."
* ElementalRockPaperScissors: His Bronze and Silver Medals are obtained by defeating him as either Queenbee or Buckfire respectively, those being the two fire-based Psuedoroids with a type advantage against him.
* {{Expy}}: Of Wheel Gator from ''VideoGame/MegaManX2''. Their primary weapon is even identical in form and function.
* GoombaStomp: Bifrost can do this to smaller enemies, which makes sense considering he's a ''giant'' metal crocodile and the largest Pseudoroid in the game.
* AnIcePerson: He launches his ice teeth for an attack and as a boss can launch an icy breath.
* TheLeader: According to WordOfGod, he's this for the ''ZXA'' Pseudoroids, which is fitting given his UndyingLoyalty to Albert and that he guards the Bio Lab containing many of the Mechaniloids meant to serve the Mega Man King in purging the world of life.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Bifrost can defend himself by opening his large jaw. The player can, too, when they gain his A-Trans form.
* MightyGlacier: Oh, yeah. He has great attack power (probably the most impressive of the entire playable forms), but he moves very slowly. Bonus point of being AnIcePerson, fulfilling every sense of the trope name. His Secret Disk even notes he was designed for base defense (where speed would be unneeded since he was meant to hold a position in a presumably fortified area) rather than all-out offensive.
* NeverSmileAtACrocodile: He's a giant robo-crocodile whose teeth can shatter the strongest blocks in the game and has a whole host of weaponry to murder with.
-->''"I shall crush every last one of your bones with my jaws!"''
* NowThatsUsingYourTeeth: Bifrost's large jaws and strong teeth leads to this. His bite can break through blocks that other forms can't even scratch.
* PowerUpLetdown: For all his offensive power, his greatest weapon as a boss is your greatest weakness as a playable form: his size. Unlike the boss version, you don't deal CollisionDamage to enemies and not only is he an ''enormous'' hitbox, he's actually too big to fit in most rooms. Combined with his slow movement, he might be able to kill everything within reach with extreme prejudice, but enemies outside his range can easily take potshots at him and rack up damage as he tries to close the gap.
* SpikeShooter: As a boss or A-Trans form, he can fire his teeth as icicle missiles. They run off your weapon energy, though, so they can't be used infinitely.
* TailSlap: Bifrost can whack enemies with his tail as he switches direction. Again, justified by the fact he's a giant metal crocodile.

[[folder:Argoyle & Ugoyle the Shisaroids]]

-->Voiced By: Maki Mizuma [Argoyle] and Eriko Nakayama [Ugoyle] (JP), Terry Osada (EN)
Twin Pseudoroids protecting the Waterfall Ruins and the computer facility used to hack into Legion HQ.

----

* AnArmAndALeg: Their weak points; Argoyle's is his hands and Ugoyle's is his legs.
* AngryGuardDog: They're based on the ''shisa'', a mythological dog/cat hybrid symbolizing protection, and they take their jobs as guards very seriously, to the point they don't wait to fight Grey/Ashe at the end of the stage, but ''the very start'' since they have no interest in letting them get close to the facility.
* BlownAcrossTheRoom: Most minor enemies hit by Ugoyle's kick are going to end up being launched across the screen if they aren't outright destroyed.
* CombinationAttack: Argoyle and Ugoyle are fond of these.
** As the playable version, you can have Argoyle throw a bomb and then have Ugoyle's ghost kick it in order to power it up.
* DoppelgangerAttack: You can only control Argoyle after you defeat the twins, but you can summon Ugoyle's ghost as a special move and the secondary attack.
* DualBoss: You fight them both at the same time. While it ''is'' possible to just focus on one at a time to cripple their moveset with the defeat of one, all three achievements for their fight can only be obtained if they're defeated at the same time in various ways.
* GoddamnedBoss: As far as '''all''' of their Medals are concerned, since they all require you to knock them both out simultaneously with various attacks. Not helping is that their health is shown in a single bar and while Model H gives a readout of what they've got left individually, it's not a terribly specific readout so there's still guesswork, on top of the fact that they both have weak points so a hit might do more damage than you intended.
* GracefulLoser: After their rematch, they concede that you have beaten them and submit their loyalty before exploding.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Their Gold Medal requires them to be defeated at the same time by Buckfire's Double Tomahawk, which will result in this on ''both'' of them at the same time if done correctly. If one dies slightly before the other, however, it's possible to see only ''one'' of them get sliced in half while the other remains intact but starts to turn gunmetal grey (and no, this doesn't count for the Medal in question).
* HurricaneKick: Use Ugoyle's kick while jumping or falling through the air or while on a ladder, and he'll perform a mid-air rapid body-twisting kick. Keep holding it, and he'll keep spinning.
* IdenticalTwinIDTag: Argoyle has larger ears, an open mouth, and a small jewel on his forehead. Ugoyle has shorter ears, a closed mouth, and a horn on his forehead.
* IntangibleMan: The summonable Ugoyle can pass through walls, the limit being whatever's in range of his sprite (which is always summoned right in front of Argoyle). This ''does'' allow Ugoyle to attack enemies hiding behind shields or walls with impunity in his range, and is necessary to obtain collectibles behind otherwise impassable walls or barriers (most notably a Sub-Tank in Hedgeshock's stage).
* KickChick: Gender-inverted with Ugoyle, who's main offense is kicking targets and Argoyle's bombs, which makes them even stronger.
* MadBomber: Argoyle specializes in throwing bombs that are designed to bounce off obstacles once before exploding.
* NonElemental: Though their LimitBreak does have a bit of a [[CastingAShadow darkness theme]] to it.
* TheQuietOne: When Ugoyle ''does'' talk, he's very blunt. [[AllThereInTheManual According to a ZX series blog]], his language setting is set on low to prioritize supporting Argoyle, who has a more developed language circuit to prioritize his giving directions.
* RollerbladeGood: Argoyle and Ugoyle's feet are fitted with wheels. In fact, their A-Trans form has unlimited dash.
* SecretAIMoves: Many of their moves, since they operate as a duo and you can only A-Trans into a solitary Shisaroid with the second as an extra attack option.
* SharedLifeMeter: Argoyle and Ugoyle, when fought, initially appear to have single health bar. However, when you activate Model H and use it to EnemyScan them, you'll see that each of them has their own health bar.
* SiblingYinYang: Argoyle has an open mouth and talks a lot, while Ugoyle has a closed mouth and only talks in short words. They're also named after Buddhist figures Agyo and Ungyo.
* WonderTwinPowers: If one is defeated before the other, they lose the ability to use their LimitBreak.

!!Biometals

[[folder:In General]]
The major {{Phlebotinum}} for this series, they exhibit the following tropes:

* FunWithAcronyms: They establish the M.E.G.A. (Meta-Encapsulated Granule Awareness)/R.O.C.K. (Rebirth Of Crystallized Knowledge) System; in layman's terms, this system enables the user to Megamerge/Rock On with it.
* HealingFactor: In ''ZX'', Muguet notes that Biometal makes Vent/Aile more resistant to injury and allows them to heal their wounds faster. They even act as a life support system, which is presumably how Mega Men have no problem functioning underwater (and would likely also be able to resist being in outer space conditions), and is the only reason Giro didn't immediately die from his fatal injuries (though it was noted [[DeathByDepower giving Model Z up would fix that quickly]]).
* InstantArmor: Undergoing a Megamerge with a Biometal gives the Chosen One a suit of armor based on the data of the person the Model is based on along with the corresponding abilities, and is the source of their power.
* LegacyCharacter: Except for [[spoiler:Model A]] and Model a, each Biometal is either based on the data of an existing character from the ''X''/''Zero'' series or outright has their souls inside them.
* LightningBruiser: Every single Mega Man has strength, speed, and durability ''far'' above any normal Humanoid and Reploid (and as mentioned above in Vent/Aile, Ashe, and Grey's folders, those are already superhuman by real-life standards). Case in point, the series shows even a non-specialized Mega Man can comfortably navigate the bottom of the ocean around undersea volcanoes, can react to and dodge laser beams and lightning bolts, and tear through reinforced metal like tissue paper with their attacks.
* OnlyTheChosenMayWield:
** Only those with [[spoiler:Albert's DNA]] can successfully Megamerge with a Biometal.
** The first leader of the Guardians ([[spoiler:Ciel]]) states that in order to make Models X, Z, H, F, L, and P, she had to use the same data she acquired from studying Model W, meaning that anyone who can Megamerge with them has the same potential to use Model W [[spoiler:and thus also has to meet the requirement of having Albert's DNA]].

[[folder:Model X]]
[[quoteright:130:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/modelx1.jpg]]

--> ''I am the light that illuminates all possibilities, Lumine Infinitus...''
-->Voiced by: Creator/TakahiroMizushima (JP), Iain Gibb (''ZXA'', EN)

Based off the legendary hero X, he, along with Model Z, was escorted by Vent/Aile and Giro in the first game. It and Vent/Aile fell off a cliff when his/her motorbike gets shot by Mavericks. In a desperate attempt to defend Prairie and Guardians from the incoming Giga Aspis, Model X offers him/her the power to stop it, becoming his/her Biomatch in the process. When Vent/Aile gets injured after Serpent curbstomps him/her, Model X got weakened a bit, and cannot be used on his own; this triggered their first Double Megamerge with Model Z (courtesy of Giro dying and giving said model to Vent/Aile). He's still in Vent/Aile's possession as he/she appears in the second game.

----

* BlueIsHeroic: Very blue, and as anyone with knowledge of past ''Mega Man'' series will know, ''very'' heroic.
* ChargedAttack: It wouldn't be X without his trademark Charge Shot, and this time he gets ''Double'' Charge Shot right out the gate.
* DiscOneNuke: The double charge shot can hit with both shots in rapid succession (MercyInvincibility be damned, provided that you shoot the second shot immediately after the first), thus being able to inflict ridiculous amounts of punishment. But of course, you won't get long to enjoy it before [[PowerupLetdown Model ZX overwrites X's slot on the menu.]]
** PromotedToPlayable: Beating ''ZX'' with both characters adds Model X back to the menu for the entire game.
* GunsAkimbo: It has X's double charged shot from ''VideoGame/{{Mega Man X}}2'' and ''X3''. May as well be two guns in one barrel.
* MessianicArchetype: Even after all these centuries, some things just never change.
--> '''Vent/Aile''': You said your name was Model X. Why did you help me?
--> '''Model X''': Do I need a reason to help people? You seemed determined to help that girl even though you've never met her before. I just gave your bravery a little power to back it up.
* PowerCopying: His Double Megamerge feature assimilates the other Biometal's power for the Model X's user to wield.
* RedBaron: "The Blue Mega Man".

[[folder:Model Z]]
[[quoteright:128:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/modelz7.jpg]]

--> ''I am the courage that fights for beliefs, Fortitude Creed...''
-->Voiced by: Creator/YuutoKazama (JP), Jamie West (''ZXA'', EN)

Based on the legendary hero Zero, Girouette is his Biomatch, either by the start of the first ''ZX'' (in Vent's storyline) or from when Aile was still young (in Aile's storyline). After Giro got mortally wounded, he gave Model Z to the hero. Like Model X, he's still in Vent/Aile's possession as he/she appears in the second game.

----

* BoringButPractical: Model ZX doesn't have all of the fancy bells and whistles of the other Biometals, having just sword slashes and energy shots as well as lacking an Overdrive, but ZX never runs out of weapon energy (due to lacking a meter to begin with), is strong in both melee and ranged combat, and has the least restrictive animations which increase dodging potential. Thus it is usually the most practical model for general combat.
* ChargedAttack: Both the ZX Buster and ZX Saber can be charged and unleash a powerful blast or strike.
* InfinityMinusOneSword: In ''Advent'', the Model ZX form is obtained at around the 2/3rd mark of the game and is considered the ''best'' of the Mega Man forms in terms of versatility and practicality. While it's not necessarily the ''strongest'' form in terms of attack power, it's strong in both melee and ranged combat, the least restrictive animations with increased dodge potential, and while it now uses weapon energy [[GradualRegeneration said energy regenerates anyways]] and it gains special moves that weren't available in the first game. Consider how the Mega Man forms are generally superior to the Pseudoroid forms in terms of general exploration and combat, and Model ZX becomes very well the best ''form'', period.
* LaserBlade: Interestingly enough, the blade of Model Z as used by Giro alone more resembles a katana (and thereby Zero's Z-Saber from the ''X'' series), while Model ZX's as used by Vent/Aile resembles its design from the ''Zero'' series.
* NeverFoundTheBody: Well, he doesn't actually have a body to find, but [[spoiler:it's made ambiguous whether or not Model Z actually dies when Ouroboros is destroyed. Vent/Aile don't mention it [[YouDidntAsk because Ashe/Grey don't bring it up and don't know about said sacrifice]] (only making a comment about "how there are still things that need finding"), and the four Mega Men he paralyzed show up alive and well in TheStinger. Model Z himself repeatedly states he's not dying there.]]
* RedBaron: "The Red Mega Man" as Mega Man Model Z, though it becomes the much more fitting "The Ultimate Mega Man" as Model ZX.
* RedIsHeroic: Very red, and anyone familiar with the previous two series will know he's ''very'' heroic.
* SwissArmyWeapon: The ZX Saber switches between Saber and Buster modes in an instant.
* SwordPlant: A new technique for Aile in the second game, which launches boulders into the air.
* SacrificialLion: It's ''Zero'', so this doesn't come as a tremendous surprise, but [[spoiler:at the end of ''Advent'', Model Z disengages from Vent/Aile to single handedly hold the Enemy Mega Men off, allowing the protagonists to escape while he goes down with Ouroboros. Though whether or not he actually ''dies'' is left ambiguous.]]

[[folder:Four Guardians Biometals]]
[[quoteright:295:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/modelhflp.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:295:From clockwise: Model H, Model L, Model P, and Model F.]]
Based on Harpuia, Fefnir, Leviathan, and Phantom of Neo Arcadia's guardians. Unfortunately, just like their past selves, they have a bad habit of being used by the villainous camp (although this time unwillingly).

----
* BizarreAndImprobableBallistics: Model F's Buster Edit ability is used to change the trajectory of its normal shots. Model F's bullets can turn on a dime at 90 degree angles.
* BloodKnight: Even as a chunk of metal, Fafnir is shown to be very eager on fighting.
* ChargedAttack: All of them can charge their attacks to deliver a powerful strike that consumes weapon energy. A second stage charge attack is unlocked after collecting the second fragment in the first game.
* EnemyDetectingRadar: Model P's special lower-screen function is to locate enemies in the area. Can also help you see InvisibleMonsters.
* EnemyScan: Model H can scan the enemy's HP and, if it's a Pseudoroid, [[AttackItsWeakPoint its weak point]].
* HomingProjectile: Touching enemies on the bottom screen while using Model P throws a single kunai that is guaranteed to hit from any angle, if the enemy is not invulnerable.
* InnateNightVision: Model P not only provides superior visual ability in the dark (shown by the much larger field of view in darkened areas compared to other transformations), but also comes equipped with EnemyDetectingRadar.
* IntangibleMan: Model P's Overdrive Mode ability, the Shadow Dash, enables phasing through enemies while dashing.
* KnightInSourArmor: Model H muses that stopping Serpent will do nothing to stop the endless cycle of war humanity has been embroiled in for centuries, but still believes that their fight had meaning.
* MegatonPunch: Model F's busters can send the enemy off flying forward or shattering destructible walls. Noticeably, they're strong enough to shatter a wall of solid Ceratanium (the same material [[VideoGame/MegaManClassic Rock's armor is made of]]).
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: In ''ZX'' it's spelled out, in no uncertain terms, that none of the Biometals can defy the intentions of their masters and can conceivably be used for good or evil. This is hit home in ''Advent'' with the Four Guardian Models falling into the hands of the Enemy Mega Men. [[spoiler:Model Z seems to somehow be able to suppress and pin down said Mega Men, though.]]
* NotQuiteFlight: Model H can Air Dash sideways or upwards (Effectively a DoubleJump), as well as slow his descent.
* ShapingYourAttacks: Model L's user can summon [[OurDragonsAreDifferent serpentine dragons]] made of ice that can [[HomingProjectile home in on enemies]].
* SpinAttack: While swimming underwater, Model L can rapidly twirl the halberd in a circular arc. While each hit is weaker than the usual single slice, it ignores MercyInvincibility.
* SpreadShot: Mode L can create a small chunk of ice which, when struck, sprays ice shards.
* SuperMode: Overdrive Mode, only available in the first game. In exchange for using Weapon Energy, Models HX, FX, and LX imbud their normal attacks with their [[ElementalPowers elemental affinities]] while Model PX gets a flat damage increase and the ability to use [[IntangibleMan Shadow Dash]].
* SwordBeam: Model H's laser blade combo (slashing sideways, downwards, then with both blades) creates a damaging blast of concentrated air and energy.
* TemporaryPlatform: Model L can create a chunk of ice that can float on water and move if struck. It will also do damage if it makes contact with an enemy, which can be achieved by summoning it while above an enemy while at a higher elevation or jumping [[DeathFromAbove to drop it on their heads]] or bait them into colliding into it.
* ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman: Model L isn't very useful outside of the water or fighting wind bosses, as while it can certainly ''fight'' it's limited by the fact its weapon is melee only and slow (albeit powerful) with no way to attack range-wise without using Weapon Energy.
* ThrowDownTheBomblet: In the second game, Ashe's Model F ChargeAttack either shoots a fiery bomb forward or plants it down as a mine.

-->Voiced by: Creator/YuuKobayashi (JP), Katie Adler (EN)

The most mysterious of the Biometals and a central figure of ''ZX Advent''.
----
* AwesomeButImpractical: The [[SmartBomb Giga Crush]] attacks everything on the screen and can wipe out most minor enemies instantly while doing pretty significant damage to bosses and minibosses, but it requires and drains ''the entire'' weapon energy gauge, even if Grey/Ashe collect the Weapon Energy extensions scattered around.
* BaitAndSwitch: [[spoiler:He is in fact, not Axl, but a copy of Master Albert's systems that just happens to be very similar to Axl.]]
%%* BrattyHalfPint: Hard not to figure Model A as one of these, just listening to him yap.
* ChargedAttack: Two of them. It has the standard charged buster shot for Grey and a ReflectingLaser for Ashe, and its Giga Crush also needs to be charged up before being used.
* CowardlyLion: Early on, Model A often expresses fear of getting into life-threatening situations and becomes exasperated by Grey/Ashe's intentions to rush in and help. He grows out of this as the story goes on.
* CrossdressingVoices: Model A identifies itself as a "he", but is voiced by a woman in both Japanese and English.
* DeadpanSnarker: Several times when exasperated by Grey or Ashe's attitude. Particularly when he's trying to psyche up Grey to go against Albert by saying "and yeah, we can do [[PayingItForward heroic rescues]] along the way."
* DoNotCallMePaul: Model A has rejected his original name and only goes by its abbreviation.
--> [[spoiler:'''Albert''': A backup system that contains my plan and my knowledge. Model A... in other words, Model Albert.]]\\
'''Model A''': I hate that name!
* GradualRegeneration: Its weapon energy slowly regenerates over time, unlike in previous series.
* GunsAkimbo: Subverted. Grey and Ashe are shown doing this in their promo art when Megamerged, but in-game Model A gives no such ability. Except in their Giga Crush, that is.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: At the start of the series, he doesn't know who built him or what he's built for.
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: Surprisingly averted for a Biometal. Model A actually wants to flee the Train when the Mavericks attack it, despite Grey/Ashe's intentions to help the Hunters on it. That said, when they push the issue, Model A reluctantly goes along since he knows he's a sitting duck for the bad guys without them.
* NeuroVault: In the form of ciphers that are unlocked whenever Model A copies another Mega Man's DNA. Unlocking each of them reveals the one behind the whole mess and his intentions.
%%* ReflectingLaser: Ashe's charged shot.
* RedBaron: "The Copy Mega Man" for Model A, while it's "The Ancient Mega Man" for Model ''a''.
* SecretKeeper: After they collected the last cypher (from Aile/Vent), he remembers his purpose (that is, [[spoiler:as a backup should Albert somehow fail]]), and considers it for the best that he doesn't tell Grey/Ashe about it until they're ready. [[spoiler:Albert ends up doing it first, though.]]
* SmartBomb: Its Giga Crush attack lets the user shoot everything around them.

[[folder:Model W ('''Massive Spoilers''')]]

[[quoteright:149:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/modelw18.jpg]]

The original Biometal, and the major driving force of the games. It was created at the end of ''VideoGame/MegaManZero4'', when Dr. Weil merged with Ragnarok and was destroyed, but with the fragments still containing his mind. It causes otherwise normal Mechaniloids to change into Mavericks and can corrupt people's minds. The {{Big Bad}}s of both games seek to revive its powers. As it turns out, Master Albert supposedly "created" them all. It comes in two forms: a miniature version like the other Biometals which [[SarcasmMode totally doesn't look like]] the man from from whom it originates, and the giant Model W Core of which there are tons.

----

* AllYourPowersCombined: Albert's Model W as the Ouroboros exhibits the powers of all of the Biometals.
* AmbiguousSituation: The exact specifics of Model W's creation and influence are noticeably vague. While it's undeniable that Model W was made from Ragnarok's fragments and Albert had a major hand in refining them into their current form, exactly how much influence Albert had in their creation is unclear. There's also the question of how much [[TheCorruption influence]] Model W has actually had on the antagonists given its SealedEvilInACan state and the fact that it never actually speaks for itself. In ''Advent'' in particular, Grey's confrontation with Albert at the endgame implies most of Albert's megalomania is his own with him claiming he came to his conclusion with mankind's constant fighting, while Ashe's story implies Model W is definitely feeding his insanity with his rant about Model W's desire for destruction.
* ArtifactOfDoom: What else can be said of a device that creates Mavericks, feeds on negative emotions, grants incredible power at the cost of sanity, and houses the soul of one of the most evil beings in ''Mega Man'' history?
* BackFromTheDead: The souls of the ''ZXA'' Pseudoroids are bound to Model W, and thus, it can resurrect them via the "True A-Trans". It's implied that something similar happened to the ''ZX'' Pseudoroids after they were revived in Slither Inc. Fitting, given Dr. Weil's specialty in the ''Zero'' series is DNA revival.
* TheCorruption: This Biometal is the new source of the many Maverick attacks taking place throughout the series. In addition, it's heavily implied to be the one influencing the actions of both Serpent and Albert, causing both to become delusional megalomaniacs in the process.
* CreatingLife: It has the ability to create Maverick Mechaniloids once sufficiently powered up. Albert goes so far as to claim the fully-realized Model W has the power "to control all life" and this ability is the core behind his RestartTheWorld plot.
* EmotionEater: It eats negative emotions of the people to activate itself. The Model W Core in the first game fully activates when it feasts upon Vent/Aile's years of pent-up hatred for Serpent, while the fragments in ''Advent'' do so by feeding on the ''centuries'' of hatred Prometheus and Pandora have for Albert.
* EvolvingWeapon: Serpent's final form in ''ZX'' becomes bigger and more imposing with every life bar you knock off, and the last stage of this reveals a giant mechanical face, as if to suggest some person or presence is on the verge of awakening. (Three guesses as to who...)
* {{Expy}}: Aside from the obvious, Model W's ability to feed on negative emotions is similar to [[VideoGame/MegaMan8 Evil Energy]] and its ability to feed on the evil within its host to multiply and spread.
* GravityMaster: Implied to be one power in its possession, as the Floating Ruins in ''Advent'' were created by a Model W activating and ripping chunks of forest into the sky and suspending them there in a manner explicitly stated to be a "gravitational anomaly", not to mention how Prometheus and Pandora have natural floating capabilities as Model W Mega Men and Albert is able to fly upon using either the Model W fragments floating around him or freely move through the air in his proper Megamerged form. Plus, how else would the {{Ouroboros}} remain airborne?
* GreaterScopeVillain: For the entire ''ZX'' series as the main source of Mavericks plaguing the world and the source of the villains' plans (and corruption).
* HatePlague: The thing causes hatred and other negative feelings to appear within people in its vicinity, which it then [[EmotionEater eats]] to grow stronger and continue the cycle.
* HijackedByGanon: Seeing as it's Dr. Weil, the BigBad of the ''[[VideoGame/MegaManZero Zero]]'' series, and it's ultimately the driving force of both games so far.
* LightIsNotGood: Mainly colored [[GoldAndWhiteAreDivine gold and white]], and, in case of Albert, looking like a seraphic angel when he transforms. Unquestionably evil, given its origins.
* MechanicalAbomination: The core. Even if it is an immobile twisted-up chunk of metal, it looks as if it wants to ''gnaw your face off''. The other cores in ''Advent'' don't all look quite as sickening...But wait until you see the Ouroboros.
* OmnicidalManiac: Per the words of Albert himself in Ashe's storyline. Fitting, given Dr. Weil was very much this too.
-->''"Model W craves destruction. It desires that the Earth conclude its own autobiography. So be it! Model W... Ultimate Mega Man! If at evolution's extreme... there is destruction, it was destined to be that way."''
* {{Ouroboros}}: All the fragmented Model Ws can merge to form a massive floating structure called this. The name and cycle imagery is intentional, as Albert intends to use it to RestartTheWorld and birth new life onto the planet once the old has all been either eliminated or assimilated.
* ThePlan: Implied; Model W is most likely keeping the {{Gambit Roulette}}s of all the other major players in the story spinning away, waiting for somebody or something to fully resurrect it.
* PoweredByAForsakenChild: A variation; in the first game, Serpent feeds the Model W Core with the Cyber Elves of the people who are filled with fear and terror before they're killed, to activate it. And what ultimately finishes the job is Vent/Aile's raw hatred for him being absorbed.
* RedBaron: "The Evil Mega Man" for the fragment forms, though it's also known as "The Ultimate Mega Man" and "The Mega Man King" for the Core forms.
* SealedEvilInASixPack: There are many pieces of Model W scattered throughout the ''ZX'' world.
* SuperEmpowering: The Model W Core in the Quarry of ''Advent'' falls into the destroyed husk of a [[GiantSpider Spidrill]] and subsequently merges with it, not just repairing it but powering it up into the "Spidrill Neo" with a [[PurpleIsPowerful sick new purple paintjob]] and increased stats, especially durability.
* SuperPrototype: It's the original Biometal, yet its powerset (as shown being wielded by Serpent, Prometheus, Pandora, the eight ''ZXA'' Pseudoroids, and Albert) is adaptive enough to surpass nearly all of its successor Models with even Model A being a noted back-up system and pale imitation by Albert himself. And that's not even factoring in the powerset of the Core forms, or even Ouroboros.
* UltimateLifeForm: The "Mega Man King" and wielder of the Ouroboros is referred to as the "Ultimate Mega Man" who has "evolved beyond the mere fusion of man and machine" with the power to control all life” according to Albert, meaning it's meant to be this, a god, and/or a level of {{Transhuman}}ism that no one before has reached.
* WombLevel: The second half of Ouroboros runs with this theme, what with the giant beating heart-like mechanism looming in the background. After Albert dies, it promptly stops and turns the entire interior of the place a dull gray.
* YourSoulIsMine: It eats the [[EmotionEater emotions]] of those who are consumed with fear or hate and against the WeakWilled it will also devour their souls, as poor Gary the Raider learns to his regret.

[[folder:Model O]]
[[quoteright:224:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omega_zero_zx.jpg]]
Your reward for conquering ''ZX'''s {{Optional Boss}}es, Omega's final form, or, if you have copies of ''VideoGame/MegaManZero3'' and ''VideoGame/MegaManZero4'', half of Weil's Numbers and half of the Einherjar. Double Megamerges with Model X to play as a near-exact replica of Zero from [[VideoGame/MegaManZero his series]]. You can only receive Model O on a cleared save file.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: It's not entirely clear if Model O is fully non-canon and simply fanservice material or if it actually exists in the ''ZX'' timeline. Flammole's words imply that at the very least it ''does'' exist, though whether or not Vent/Aile canonically obtained it is up in the air.
* AwesomeButImpractical: Its full buster charge + down button has the user unleash a barrage of lasers that go up and down around him (think [[VideoGame/MegaManX6 Zero's Rekkoha]]). Thing is, it doesn't do that much damage and the user is vulnerable and can't move for a few seconds after it's launched.
%%* BraggingRightsReward: One that packs a hell of a punch, though.
%%* EndgamePlus: [[EasyModeMockery Only in Normal or Hard difficulty.]]
* FireIceLightning: Its Overdrive Mode lets it access all three kinds of elemental attacks: a fiery {{Shoryuken}}, a [[RollingAttack midair rolling slash]] that shoots ice shots all around the user, and an electric SwordBeam.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Model O's existence is hinted at in the story with Flammole's first battle, as he was ordered by Serpent to dig and unearth a Biometal detected near the volcano but found nothing and even wondered if it was really Model W he sensed or "something else" before perishing. WordOfGod (i.e Inti Creates staff) confirmed that it's meant to be a "giveaway". And note that, in the map, Area K (where Flammole is fought) is directly above Area N (where Model O is found).
* GroundPunch: In Overdrive Mode, the user can punch the ground to create bursts of energy. One causes rocks to fly away from the user, damaging enemies if hit; another (done after half-charge) is stylized after ''X'' series Zero's Rakuhouha; and the last one (done after full-charge) takes cues from the Rekkoha.
* PaletteSwap: Recycles Zero's sprites with [[spoiler:Omega Zero's palette and buster shot sprites.]]
* PreviousPlayerCharacterCameo: Controls identically to ''Zero'' series Zero, right down to the extra range on his saber slashes (Model ZX has a shorter reach), plus ZX's highly spammable spinning slash, just to be sure it makes ZX obsolete altogether.
* RedBaron: "The False Mega Man"
* SuperMode: It has an Overdrive mode like the Four Guardians, which never runs out, and augments all of his attacks, as well as somewhat changing its playstyle into [[spoiler:''X'' series Zero [[note]]He can't use his sword or buster attacks while dashing, and he can't use the charged saber[[/note]] with some original attacks from Omega Zero added, including the infamous double-charge buster + SwordBeam combo.]]
* SuperPoweredEvilSide: Official artwork shows [[http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090101230527/megaman/images/2/23/OXvent.png Vent]] and [[http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090101230609/megaman/images/e/e7/OXaile.png Aile]] in similar poses to Prometheus and Pandora, respectively ([[spoiler:probably alluding to the original Omega's AxCrazy personality]]), although gameplay-wise it simply serves as a more powerful alternate to Model ZX.
** Within the ''ZX Advent'' manga, [[spoiler:where Alie is shown to be using it, she doesn't appear to be fully in control over the form, which seems to suggest that this trope is the case when using this power.]]
* SwordAndGun: Just like Model ZX, Model OX is armed with a gun and sword.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Model a]]
Your reward for obtaining all 24 medals in ''ZX Advent'', allowing Grey/Aile to A-Trans into an 8-bit version of Model A. Like ''ZX'''s Model O, a (presumably) non-canon fanservice extra.
----
* JokeCharacter: While Model a is small enough to go through small spaces that normally require the untransformed or Hedgeshock forms and can still WallJump, its dash is replaced with a slide and it cannot use charged attacks, Homing Shots, or the Giga Attack.
* RedBaron: "The Ancient Mega Man"
* {{Retraux}}: Aside from looking like Model A in the style of the 8-bit games, Grey/Ashe only makes various beeping sounds from those games while in this form, such as landing on the floor, shooting, etc., and basically plays as Mega Man did in ''VideoGame/MegaMan3''.
