[[folder:Kazama Family]]
!Yamato Naoe
->Voiced by: HiroshiKamiya (Japanese) and Creator/JoshGrelle (English)
The protagonist of Majikoi, Yamato is actually the tactician of the group and not the leader. Surprisingly for the protagonist of an eroge, he emphasizes trickery and blatant cheating over any semblance of honor. He and Shoichi formed the original Kazama family. In Majikoi A-1, his dad's name is revealed to be Kagekiyo, whilst his mom is named Saki.
----
* AccidentalPervert: Normally averted, but he keeps stumbling into the bathroom when Chris is trying to take a shower.
* ActionSurvivor: He's a normal guy surrounded by five martial artist girls who could all crush him. At best, his time dealing with them (especially Momoyo) has left him with superb dodging skills.
* BelligerentSexualTension: He tends to bicker with Chris more than getting any sort of romantic scenes most of the time. He just seems to like making fun of her too much.
* BerserkButton: He's got two:
** The first one is if someone plays with his pet hermit crabs.
** The second one is if someone insults his father who ran away from Japan.
* ButtMonkey: Has some tendencies in the anime.
* TheChessmaster: A refreshing change from the usual type of male lead. Rather than valuing fair play and honor he believes that it's best to cheat, manipulate and trick the opposition, earning him the nickname Tactician.
* ChickMagnet: Lampshaded by Capt. while discussing why [[ChristmasCake Umeko-sensei]] likes Yamato. He suggest that Yamato has an aura that makes him likeable by older people. As Yamato dismissess the idea, Momoyo walks in, and starts to hug and lick him. Yamato immediately starts to reconsider if he has such an aura, specifically affecting older girls.
* CovertPervert: Yamato's nearly as perverted as Yonpachi, but he hides in front of girls to the extent that if you tell a single dirty joke, you actually surprise a laugh out of Chika because she didn't expect that from him. The girls even assume that the other more openly perverted guys are probably at fault for it!
* CrazyPrepared: He prepares for pretty much every contingency, which is probably best shown in events like the Kawakami war in Momoyo's route.
* {{Determinator}}: When his tricks run out, he ''will'' try to get by on willpower alone.
* DistressedDude: He says he's used to being kidnapped in Margit's route near the end.
* DoggedNiceGuy: His first confession towards Momoyo fails, so he decides to up the ante, stop slacking off and prove himself.
* GenreSavvy:
** By ''S'' at the latest he has realized that even kidding about attraction to Miyako in front of her will lead to a bad end.
** Similarly, he knows that so long as he doesn't overdo it he can usually get what he wants from an older girl by acting like a cute little brother.
* GuileHero: Bribes and cheating are standard operating procedure if it's to bring victory to the Kazama Family.
* HandsomeLech: He's mildly popular at school and has a good reputation, though this is mostly because unlike Gakuto and Yonpachi he knows how to keep his mouth shut about his perversions.
* HighSchoolHustler: He gambles at school on a regular basis, and hides specific {{Mahjong}} tiles on himself at all times just in case. His network of contacts includes members of the teaching staff, which he calls upon at one point in order to... peek on girls during a [[HotSpringsEpisode hot springs visit]].
* IgnoreTheFanservice: While she certainly gets some amount of physical reaction out of him, Yamato is savvy enough to Miyako's ploys and seduction attempts that he won't fall for that sort of thing, leaving her firmly in the {{friendzone}}.
* LikesOlderWomen: His stated preference is for older sister types like Momoyo or Margit, but Majikoi being what it is means Mayucchi is just as much of a prospect, though he notes she'd normally be outside his strike zone.
* NonActionGuy
** While an expert tactician, he is an extremely poor fighter compared to the rest of his peers at Kawakami High School.
** That is until we get to Azumi's route in A-1. As a butler in the Kuki corporation, he eventually trains in Azumi's village as a ninja while undergoing personal training with Hume and Claudio. Combined with his natural tactical prowess and previous experience in dealing with Momoyo, he becomes badass enough to rescue Hideo from kidnappers and is able to single-handedly take on a terrorist group with their own expert martial artist.
* PaintingTheMedium: If you keep visiting the hint corner in ''S'' Kosugi will begin to comment on having some interest in Yamato and he decides that since he keeps mysteriously visiting this place despite obviously knowing everything they're going to tell him he must be interested in her as well. Her 'route' in fact builds off of this. So basically, Yamato decides he clearly must be in love because the player is doing weird stuff that makes no sense.
* PornStash: Momoyo stumbles across it at one point in her after story. He claims with a completely straight face that he was holding it for a friend. While he's almost certainly lying, this actually is the kind of thing he would do.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: Yamato maintains an extensive network of acquaintances and people who owe him favors. [[spoiler:Among other things, he uses it to cheat at a scavenger hunt in Yukie's route and to get Chris and him back into Kawakami Academy after they both drop out to live together for a while.]]
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: He will repeatedly deny being lolicon in Monshiro's Route.
* TheSmartGuy: He's usually the one to outsmart others, and in the rare cases someone outsmarts him, he does what he can to return the favor.
* TheSocialExpert: His people skills are among the best in the series.
* TrueCompanions: He has very specific ideas of what does and does not constitute a friend. Guys like Kuma that he talks to and hangs out with occasionally? Acquaintances at best, tools at worst. He'll help them out, but it's a trade, so there's a limit to how much he'll do. The people in the Kazama family, however, are the only ones he truly considers friends and the only ones he says he will sacrifice himself for.
!Momoyo "Momo" Kawakami
->Voiced by: Kamiyo Misaki (Visual Novel), YuuAsakawa (Drama CD, Anime) (Japanese), and Carli Mosier (English)
The heir to the Kawakami temple, Momo is possibly the strongest person alive. She receives endless streams of challengers, but they are never enough to sate her lust for battle. Apart from her BloodKnight tendencies, she mostly enjoys herself by picking up flirting with other girls or teasing Yamato. She joined the Kazama family when the group realized they needed a stronger fight in order to deal with a gang they were in conflict with.
----
* AttemptedRape: [[spoiler:Pins Yamato down in Mayucchi's route and tries to use him to appease her lust for battle with a different sort of lust. Mayucchi knocks her out of the window and she falls several stories down. Yamato says he would have been okay with it if she at least loved him. She apologizes later.]]
* {{Badass}}: The strongest person in the main cast and possibly the story.
* BerserkButton: She gets angry when she feels people aren't treating girls right, though her ideas on the ethics of how this work are complex. For example, it's okay to go on a date with someone just to get a free meal like she does and what Cap does at one point, but if you do you have to keep the girl happy. Cap didn't let the girl feel like it was a date, so he had to be punished. She's also pretty pissed at Yamato for picking Mayucchi over Miyako because of similar reasons, but she doesn't make a fuss over it.
* [[BigBrotherBully Big Sister Bully]]: She's sometimes like this towards Yamato, when she's not being a CoolBigSis. Made blatantly clear in episode 1 of the anime when she invited Yamato over for some "quality time" (or, in her words, she picking on him).
* BigEater: She spends a lot of money playing around, but it's rarely directly on food. Rather, she flirts with girls and has them buy her food.
* TheBigGuy: She tends to act as the muscle of the group and is by far the best fighter.
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: She spends all her time fighting, but still has good skin thanks to her automatic HealingFactor.
* BestHerToBedHer: She will not acknowledge any men that cannot best her. It doesn't have to be in physical prowess, however, which is pretty fortunate considering her extreme strength.
* BiTheWay: Loves flirting with girls, but [[NoBisexuals identifies as straight]] despite this.
* BloodKnight: Arguably her defining trait. Much to the concern of the head and assistant instructor of the Kawakami style. This is an important plot point that is resolved in various ways depending on the path followed either via [[ThePowerOfLove Yamato]] or mountain training.
* BoisterousBruiser: Probably the closest any girl could come to being.
* BoobsOfSteel: Largest bust in the game, strongest character.
* BrilliantButLazy: She's actually pretty intelligent on the rare occasions she bothers to try. Unfortunately, she only does so periodically so that she doesn't outright fail.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Apparently, if you train hard enough, you too can punch hard enough to destroy entire armies.
* CharmPoint: She considers her crossed bangs to be her charm point and gets fidgety if anyone tries to touch them.
* ChickMagnet: She's very popular with younger girls and works on the assumption that both she and they know they're just flirting.
* ChildhoodMarriagePromise: [[spoiler:Subverted. Yamato remembers the two of them having one of these where Momoyo asked him to follow her forever then they were kids, but as she reminds him he only remembers half of that event. Back then, he actually ''rejected'' the idea because he wanted to be on equal footing with her, not to be her follower. This leads directly to the BestHerToBedHer situation above.]]
* ClingyJealousGirl: She tends to get irritated when anyone moves in on her big sister turf regarding Yamato, especially regarding Tsubame in ''S''. Challenges to her 'older girl' spot seem to spark more romantically tinged possessiveness than the normal big sister attitude.
* CoatCape: Wears her jacket around her shoulders like a cape.
* CoolBigSis: She loves playing the cool big sis role, especially to Wanko. It also works towards Yamato, but she spends most of her time teasing him.
* FingerPokeOfDoom: Strong enough to flick away bullets.
* FlashStep: She can move so quickly that even if you know exactly how she's going to attack you there's still nothing you can do about it.
* {{Gainaxing}}: In the anime she's rather bouncy.
* GoodOldFisticuffs: Her fists are weapons of choice.
* HealingFactor: Adds to her toughness, especially in the final battle. Her grandfather seems to consider it cheating and overpowered. [[spoiler: She even quickly recovers from a life threatening injury (being stabbed in the chest by a piece of debris, which seemingly killed her; turns out she was just playing possum) after Yamato kisses her.]]
* ImprobableUseOfAWeapon: Used a [[GatlingGood minigun]] as a blunt object. Not because of circumstances; she simply didn't know how to actually use it properly.
* InformedAttractiveness: We're told that she's ''the'' most beautiful girl around and more than once.
* LightningBruiser: While she's obviously known for her brute strength, many of her opponents underestimate her speed.
* LonelyAtTheTop: She's depressed and frustrated that ever since Ageha quit focusing on martial arts she can't find a worthwhile opponent.
* MarshmallowHell: Subjects Yamato to this sometimes when she's getting frustrated.
* MegatonPunch: Not just for dealing with perverts, as demonstrated in this [[http://www.mangafox.com/manga/maji_de_watashi_ni_koi_shinasai/v01/c008/12.html fighting match]] (or uh, make that a CurbStompBattle).
* MistakenForGay: Due to her habit of flirting with girls and mostly ignoring guys, some people suspect her of being a lesbian. However, it's simply that when it comes to guys she has much higher standards.
* NoBisexuals: As far as people instory are concerned she's either a lesbian or straight. She herself claims to be straight while at the same time she says men can't match her standards so she'll go after girls.
* ObliviousToLove: Averted when it comes to Yamato, at least. Even when you're going through her pre route events she rather pointedly notes that she's not interested in people who make big promises and fail to deliver on them. [[spoiler:She's pretty disappointed that Yamato said he wanted to be her equal and yet he's just lazing about.]]
* OneManArmy: As shown in S, it's pretty literal. Even in the original Majikoi people of her level were considered enough to stop an invasion.
* PerpetualSmiler: She has a perpetual manic grin or smirk.
* PetTheDog: While she's frequently rather selfish and domineering, she also has her good moments where she comforts Miyako for failing to win Yamato and clearly directing some fairly violent thoughts toward him for upsetting her, though she respects his decision enough not to confront him.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: She can strike so quickly that even Mayucchi can't keep up right after [[spoiler:she's proved she can go toe to toe with Shakudou.]]
* RedEyesTakeWarning: She's not supernatural or anything, but she's quite violent and fond of fighting to the extent that not much else satisfies her at all.
* TheTease: Didn't mind at all being ogled by Yamato while in a [[http://www.mangareader.net/maji-de-watashi-ni-koi-shinasai/10/5 skimpy bikini]], or sharing an IndirectKiss via a partially eaten yakisoba sandwich.
!Kazuko "Wanko" Kawakami
->Voiced by: Akane Tomonaga (Japanese) and Cynthia Martinez (English)
Kazuko, more frequently referred to Wanko, is Momoyo's adoptive little sister. As a child she used to be a huge crybaby and hasn't entirely shed those traits yet. She works extremely hard to fulfill her dream of becoming an assistant master at the Kawakami temple and supporting her older sister. She joined the Kawakami family when Kazama and Yamato noticed her hanging around them watching in the distance and invited her. She was later adopted into the Kawakami family to prevent an unqualified distant relative from taking her in.
----
* ACupAngst: There's a brief scene in the later parts of her route where she's worried about her bust size, but Yamato quickly helps her get over it.
* AlliterativeName: Family and given name both start with the 'Ka' syllable.
* AnimalMotif: Everyone constantly compares her to a dog.
* BigEater: She eats a huge amount of food in a surprisingly good balance in order to keep up with all the exercise she does.
* BladeOnAStick: She favors the naginata.
* BrilliantButLazy: Yamato is pretty sure that if she put any effort at all into studying instead of constantly working out she'd get good grades. It's confirmed both when he forces her to study and during later parts of her route.
* {{Buttmonkey}}: Wanko is the first of the three group buttmonkeys and has a lot of jokes based on her ditziness and almost TeamPet like status.
* TheDitz: Wanko is rather ditzy, but Yamato is determined to keep her from failing, especially since he knows she's not actually that stupid. To keep her focused he has many [[NoodleIncident ambiguous]] punishments in store if she fails to meet his expectations, a terror she has experienced before.
* DudeMagnet: [[spoiler:To the surprise of the group, she's actually quite popular and in her route has both Gen and Hideo confess to her immediately after Yamato does.]]
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: After [[spoiler:failing the assistant master test]] and hooking up with Yamato, Wanko stops defaulting to a ponytail and lets her hair hang freely.
* GenkiGirl: Whenever she isn't hanging out with the group she tends to be running around crazily or working out. Occasionally even then.
* HappilyAdopted: She was adopted by the Kawakami family because Momoyo wanted someone to dote on.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Despite how hard she trains, she usually loses her matches. [[spoiler:A plot point in her route: Momoyo and Tesshin state she just doesn't have the raw talent to become an assistant master at Kawakami no matter how hard she works. She ends up failing their test to become an assistant master as well as the make up test a month later.]]
* LeeroyJenkins: She almost always favors a strategy of charging in headfirst and her mediocre skills are also not aided by her reckless behavior during battle.
* LoveDodecahedron: [[spoiler:In her route, Yamato, Hideo and Gen all confess to her at once and she likes Yamato back, much to Miyako's horror.]]
* PyrrhicVictory: [[spoiler:When both of them are going all out, she manages to beat Chris through willpower alone after being badly beaten. However, by that point she had taken too much damage and fell unconscious herself. Some complete nobody won the tournament they were in after that and she failed her test.]]
* TheRival: As soon as Chris joins the school the pair become rivals, mostly because their skills are roughly even and both are both competitive and fairly dim.
* SproutingEars: Whenever she gets excited or depressed her sprite grows dog ears.
* TeamPet: She tends to get treated like a pet or mascot by the group and has the name Wanko because they feel she acts kind of like an excitable puppy.
* [[spoiler:TragicDream]]: [[spoiler:She lacks the talent to be an assistant master and Momoyo is going through final analysis before letting her know the harsh truth.]]
!Miyako Shiina
->Voiced by: {{Hyo-sei}} (Japanese) and BrittneyKarbowski (English)
Miyako, to put it bluntly, is Yamato's stalker. After he saved her from bullying she has been quite openly in love with him. Unfortunately for her, it makes him kind of uncomfortable and he'd rather remain her friend. She joined the group when she protected the plant the other six were protecting during a vicious storm.
----
* ArcherArchetype: Miyako is the cool and calculating member of the group, though not in the same way as Yamato. She's not completely helpless in melee, but ''is'' significantly worse off fighting in close range.
* BerserkButton: She does ''not'' take slights against the Kazama family well and especially not Yamato.
* BlatantLies: Can lie without batting an eyelash, even to Yamato, when it serves her purpose ([[StalkerWithACrush which is Yamato]]). He can tell when she lies most of time though.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: While Kazuko and Momoyo are also technically Yamato's childhood friends, those aspects of their character are usually downplayed. Miyako, however, is defined by this about as much as her stalking behavior.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Played with, leaning towards aversion. She's all over him most of the time, but once he shows interest in someone else she backs off. However, it's made very clear that she's doing this so that she doesn't end up hated rather than not actually feeling any jealous or really giving up. If it doesn't work out she can snag him on the rebound. [[spoiler: Works in nearly every BadEnd, not just the ones [[BlackComedyRape where she rapes him]].]]
* CombatPragmatist: Lampshaded in Chris route, when she beats up her opponent while he is charging his next attack. She notes that if she didn't she would have lost. She didn't even had her bow with her.
* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale: There are a lot of potential bad ends where this seems to be the end result. Even if you avoid those, her standard behaviour like attempting to strip and molest him is little better. [[NotIfTheyEnjoyedItRationalization Most of time, Yamato starts thrusting on his own while she forcibly rides him.]] He also has "Meh, so I end up with Miyako, could be worse." attitude.
* ExtremeDoormat: She'll do whatever Yamato asks of her. She won't stop loving him though, and when asked to give up on him, she'll say "sure". And after he's outside of earshot, she'll say "like hell I will!" and bids her time to strike again.
--->"Yamato is using me. ''[[MoodWhiplash How wonderful!!]]''"
* {{Friendzone}}: One route has her become upset when Yamato falls for another girl. When she gets upset and begins to cry in front of Momoyo asking why, she's told that while she was certainly closer to Yamato than pretty much anyone she was ''too'' close and thus landed herself here. In general, whenever she asks for a relationship upgrade he always replies with a variation of 'I'd rather be friends.'
* GenreSavvy: Knows that if Yamato and Tsubame win a tournament together he's sure to get onto the Tsubame route.
* HairDecorations: She has small blue stairs in her hair.
* HoldUpYourScore: She does this at times with a red sign that says "10 GOOD!!"
* ImprobableAimingSkills: She's an excellent archer and consistently succeeds in whatever she does when she has a bow in hand, including hitting the exact same spot on a moving robot from so far away that nobody can actually see her.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Invoked but averted. She'll support any of Yamato's romances, but only because she's hoping that he'll screw up and become single. She tries to portray it like this trope but both Yamato isn't fooled and she knows it, so he does his best not to get her hopes up.
* LovableSexManiac: She's quiet, but when she does talk it's about sex or Yamato about 90% of the time. If he doesn't watch out, she'll try to rape him in his sleep. If he asks her to, she'll back off. Unless its [[BlackComedyRape Bad End]]
* NervesOfSteel: She has excellent concentration ability thanks to her practice as an archer.
* NonstandardGameOver: If Yamato fails to get the girl of the route he's on, he will most of the time end up with Miyako. You can even end up with her for picking joke options like complimenting her while on Chris' route. The game even [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] at least one of them: "You remembered to save, right!?"
* PatientChildhoodLoveInterest: Played for both humor and a certain level of creepiness. She's all over Yamato and incredibly devoted, but he's simply not interested.
* TheQuietOne: By default she's very quiet, but around her friends she talks a little more. Mostly about perverted things.
* ReiAyanamiExpy: Quiet, blue haired, inexpressive, shy and doesn't talk much. She's extremely perverted, though.
* SingleTargetSexuality: Sneers at the advances of men other than Yamato. She's much too focused on Yamato to notice them [[spoiler:and refuses to move on after he starts dating other girls]].
* StalkerWithACrush: Largely played for laughs, but her behavior can also come across as quite creepy at times.
* TheTease: Averted. When she flirts with Yamato, she means every thing she says she'll do to him, or let him do to her. Compare to Momoyo for straighter example.
* {{Yandere}}: Discussed and Defied. While encouraging Yamato to date her, she assures him, that he may dump her if it turns out they won't click right together. He gets worried that she might stab him if he dumps her, and she gets closest in entire game to being mad at him, reassuring him she isn't crazy, she just loves him that much. Of course, while she honestly has no intention of killing him, she is lying about promising to accept his rejection once he gives her chance - and he knows that.
* YaoiFangirl: While she gets turned on by listening to Yamato being in homoerotic situations with other guys, she makes it clear she won't accept it if he gets together with guy any more than with a girl other than her.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: She has pale blue hair.
!Christiane "Chris" Friedrich
->Voiced by: ShizukaIto (Japanese) and TiffanyGrant (English)
Chris joins the story shortly after it begins as a new transfer student. She has immense devotion to her father, a fixation on justice and chivalry, a gullible streak a mile wide and a rather excitable nature. Due to her disapproval of what she sees as cheap tricks, she and Yamato frequently clash. She joins the Kazama Family not long after moving into the town. In Majikoi A-1, she reveals her mom's name is Eva after Yamato reveals his parents' names.
----
* BadLiar: She's not fond of trickery so she's naturally quite bad at lying.
--> '''Miss Kishido''': I don't know you, Naoe Yamato. {{Beat}} I know your name because of Kishido Power!
* BeautyMark: A tiny mark under her left eye.
* BelligerentSexualTension: A lot of her romantic events with Yamato consist of the two quarreling as a natural extension of her sense of fair play and his dirty tactics.
* ButtMonkey: While not at the same level as Gakuto, she tends to be the butt of a lot of jokes due to her rather naive outlook and strong sense of honor. It's especially common in her route.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Thanks to her naivete and sense of justice she tends to miss the point entirely.
* CordonBleughChef: Once tried to mix cola when she tries to fry pork.[[hottip:*: Though one attempt at this in a RealLife experiment, which involved marinating pork with cola, did produce a surprisingly good result.]]
* FishingForSole: In Wanko's route she's convinced she has a big catch, but it's just a boot. [[LampshadeHanging Yamato applauds her for pulling off such a classic 'joke.']]
* GirlishPigtails: She's the most immature of the girls barring maybe Wanko and has the immature hair style to match
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Of course, this just makes it really easy for Yamato to piss her off since he's anything but pure or straightforward.
* HonorBeforeReason: She gets better about this before the route branching point, though.
* ImplausibleFencingPowers: Able to thrust her rapier hundreds of times in an instant.
* LadyOfWar: She seems to strive towards this, but overall she actually lacks the dignity.
* {{Ojou}}: Chris is often referred to as one by the other members of the family, though she gets better, particularly in her own path.
* OppositesAttract: The basis of her relationship with Yamato is that they have completely opposing personalities. He values tricks and deceit while she favors straight forward thinking and honor. Thus, a lot of their time together is spent in some weird mixture of simultaneous flirting and bickering.
* PaperThinDisguise: As Miss Kishido. She's convinced that it's a perfect disguise. Sadly, Wanko, Gakuto and Hazama are all fooled by it and Momoyo only sees through it because she can't hide her aura.
* PhenotypeStereotype: Blond, blue eyed dorky and emotional German girl.
* RoyalRapier: She favors the rapier in battle and acts like a princess all day long.
* SpoiledSweet: It doesn't come up much outside her own route, but Chris really doesn't know how to do anything for herself nor does she properly grasp the value of money.
* {{Tsundere}}: Not in her own route so much where she's just argumentative, but the early parts of Wanko's routes have several moments where she's at least attracted enough to feel the need to loudly deny it or show other clear signals.
!Yukie "Mayucchi" Mayuzumi
->Voiced by: Shino Kujo (Visual Novel), YukoGoto (Drama CD, Anime) (Japanese), and Emily Neves (English)
A first year student with terrible self esteem, a cell phone strap as her best friend and a terrifying glare when nervous, Mayucchi desires friends more than anything else. Contrary to her meek behavior and appearance, she's actually a master swordsman. She joins the group shortly after the story begins when she finally musters the courage to ask the Kazama Family to be her friends. She later makes friends with a new transfer student, Iyo Owada.
----
* ActionGirl: She's the second strongest fighter in the group by a wide margin.
* {{Adorkable}}: She's never had a friend before, so she has no idea how to interact with people normally and gets incredibly flustered.
* ApologeticAttacker: She's extremely polite and humble when fighting and apologizes for not holding back or other such things.
* BadassAdorable: Can hold her own against Momoyo.
* BewareTheNiceOnes
** [[spoiler:When Kosugi talks bad about Iyo, Yukie [[OneHitKill knocks her out in one blow]] and [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown gives her a wound that will take a month of recovery.]] Oh, and the heartwarming CG with Yukie and Iyo that happens right after? ''[[MoodDissonance There are bloodstains on Yukie's shirt.]]'']]
** Also in S, when [[spoiler:Tsubame]] defeats [[spoiler:Momoyo]] through some questionable tactics, Mayucchi gets [[LetsGetDangerous very serious]] and declares she will be [[spoiler: Tsubame's]] next opponent. Since Mayucchi is much more serious and focused, Tsubame's tactics likely wouldn't have worked on her.
* TheChick: She always tries to promote group harmony, though it actually starts annoying the group because she debases herself in the process, so they tell her to cut it out. Friends aren't supposed to act servile towards each other, after all.
* ConsultingMisterPuppet: She does this with her cell phone strap, Matsukaze. [[spoiler:In her route, she realizes she doesn't need Matsukaze anymore and accepts his parts of her personality back into himself.]]
* CovertPervert: As pointed out by Momoyo early on, Yukie is aware of terms like [[spoiler: deep-throating]]. She tries to dismiss it by having Matsukaze say he's the one aware of such matters and that Yukie is innocent.
** In 'A-1',
* DeadpanSnarker: Mayucchi normally holds her tongue when snarky thoughts enter her head, so instead Matsukaze is left to announce what she's really thinking.
* DoWellButNotPerfect: In her route during the race section [[spoiler:Yamato gives her instructions that end with her coming in ''second'' place rather than the first she's probably capable of so that they'll get the second prize. Azumi wins the race, but she and Kuki get a giant statue of the mayor instead, which is always the first place prize he gives. Thus, they score the real prize, the three autographs.]]
* FriendlessBackground: When she was growing up, she focused so much on training that she mastered the style to a level greater than her own father. However, she never made any friends because she was so busy.
* HiddenBadass: She's the second strongest person in the group with a fairly impressive gap between her and the third, but she's quite humble and downplays it. Despite being humble, however, she knows perfectly well who is stronger or weaker than her, though the way she phrases these sentiments can be deceptive. For example, she won't fight Kosugi because there's too great a difference between the two or thinks to herself that a fight with Margit would last about two minutes. Both times she rates herself as the victor in the fight, but the situations imply she thinks the opposite.
* ImplausibleFencingPowers: Able to cut through people's aura somehow.
* InSeriesNickname: Most people call her Mayucchi while Momoyo calls her Mayumayu.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Majikoi as a whole operates under this logic with only a select few people being able to effectively use guns. Case in point is that she ends up as the second strongest person in the combat section of her route despite facing off against soldiers, mercenaries and killer robots all armed with guns and occasionally even missiles.
* LadyOfWar: Very elegant and refined even in battle.
* MotorMouth: When she's embarrassed she can't shut up. Not helped by Matsukaze feeling the need to add his input.
* NeverGetsDrunk: To Momoyo's surprise, Mayucchi is basically impossible to inebriate. Miyako, Chris and the guys not named Yamato all succumbed fairly quickly while Wanko drank conservatively and Yamato was careful not to get too plastered, but Mayucchi merely notes that the region she's from is famous for strong alcohol which is [[BlatantLies totally not what they're drinking right now.]]
* NiceGirl: She's very open, supportive and kind, though Matsukaze occasionally says some pretty harsh things. Presumably, these would have normally just been things she would think but not say.
* NoSocialSkills: Because she's never had any friends she doesn't know how to talk to people.
* SelfDeprecation: She is humble to the point of doing this, constantly trying to make herself useful to others in order to make friends. She eventually gets called out on it (by Gakuto of all people), leading to CharacterDevelopment.
* ShrinkingViolet: She gets so anxious about meeting new people that rather than avoid people or other classic behaviors her face gets all tense and she ends up with a DeathGlare that terrifies everyone.
* SupremeChef: She's a very talented cook and enjoys making food for people.
* {{Ventriloquism}}: She views Matsukaze her phone strap as her only friend and insists that he's a type of spirit that inhabits well loved objects, though when explaining him she'll indirectly admit that she knows it isn't true.
* YamatoNadeshiko: One of the most feminine female character in the story. She's domestic, supportive, strong willed, humble and very feminine.
!Shoichi "Cap" Kazama
->Voiced by: Bakuhatsu Fuji (Visual Novel), KatsuyukiKonishi (Drama CD, Anime) (Japanese), and GregAyres (English)
The actual leader of the group and founding member with Yamato, Kazama is extremely impulsive and rather scatterbrained, but he also possesses immense charm, luck and recognition by the universe as the main character, which allows him to succeed despite the odds against him when the situation is sufficiently dramatic. He is quite popular with girls, but is entirely unaware of it as he's completely disinterested in them himself.
----
* TheAce: Handsome, has a good attitude, kind, good at fighting (while still weaker compared to most female character), great instinct, etc.
* BornLucky: Has extraordinary luck and very often wins various lotteries or gambles.
* ChasteHero: No, he doesn't know that he was invited to a date by Chika at all. He only thought it was an eat-all-you-can time for him.
* EstrogenBrigadeBait: Chika apparently is thrilled to see him only in his trunks.
* TheHero: For the Kazama Family, which is ironic as Yamato is supposed to be the main character.
* TheLeader: He formed the Kazama Family with Yamato way back when and has always been the leader. [[spoiler:Momoyo tried and failed to take the title away from him, after which she gained a real respect for him.]]
* MistakenForGay: Since he has little interest in girls and considers Yamato his best friend people occasionally worry that Cap might be gay. Especially Yamato.
!Gakuto Shimazu
->Voiced by: Bob Matsunuma (Visual Novel), TakeshiKusao (Drama CD, Anime) (Japanese), and Kalob Martinez (English)
A large and musclebound student, Gakuto tends to receive little respect. He strives for strength and to get girls and achieves some success at the former and none at the latter. He joined the Kazama Family at the same time as Moro after a lengthy fight with Kazama.
----
* TheBigGuy: Unfortunately, his combat prowess is only impressive when compared to the other guys. None of them can match the girls.
* ButtMonkey: Due to being loud, fairly dim and openly perverted he tends to get abused a lot.
* CallingYourAttacks: HANDSOME LARIAT!!!
* DamnedByFaintPraise: In a letter Mayucchi is sending to her father, she praises his physical strength and then says there are other good things about him too. She pauses and then says something to the effect of "Well, he's also taught me about being a friend too" and instantly moves on to describing Moro.
* ThrowTheDogABone: While he never really gets acknowledged for it by others, the story occasionally does show that while he's no match for any named martial artists in the story he's actually very strong.
!Takuya "Moro" Morooka
->Voiced by: Senbei Makari (Visual Novel), KenichiSuzumura (Drama CD, Anime) (Japanese), and Blake Shepard (English)
The final member of the Kazama Family and likely the least prominent, Moro is one of the few rational thinkers of the group. He is neither particularly popular nor unpopular which at least saves him from being the butt of gags like Gakuto. He was friends with Gakuto before joining the Kazama family and joined together with him.
----
* AttractiveBentGender: [[http://i55.tinypic.com/2evdxxl.jpg He can convincingly pull it off.]] [[http://www.mangafox.com/manga/maji_de_watashi_ni_koi_shinasai/v01/c010/32.html So much]] that Yamato got really [[{{Squick}} squicked]] from it.
* DeadpanSnarker: He tends to snark a lot, though he's pretty quiet when he does it.
* DraggedIntoDrag: Girls from his class rather enjoy forcing him to crossdress. So does Gakuto.
* NonActionGuy: Though none of the guys in the group are great fighters, Moro is a non action guy even relative to them. The others can at least take some punishment.
* OnlySaneMan: Actively engaged in a BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine with most of the Kazama Family.
* StupidSexyFlanders: Occasionally found attractive (especially back in Middle School) by his male friends. While Gakuto is totally cool with being attracted to his best friend, Moro is rather horrified by the revelation.
* UnrequitedLove: Appears to be in love with Miyako, but unfortunately even on the routes where she fails to win Yamato over he gets a gentle brushoff.
!Cookie
->Voiced by: MegumiOgata (Form I), JunFukuyama (Form II) (Japanese), and Allison Keith (English)
An unofficial member of sorts, Cookie is an egg shaped household robot that takes care of several domestic tasks. He has the ability to transform into a more battle worthy form and a smaller egg form that at least claims it is more intelligent. Both alternate forms appear to have different personalities.
----
* RobotBuddy: Can [[TransformingMecha change into 3 forms]] -- an [[StarWars R2D2]] like form (usually when acting as a RobotMaid), an egg-shaped mini robot usually as an advisor or scout, and a violent LaserBlade wielding {{Terminator}} type when sparring or going to battle. The anime version adds [[spoiler: a HumongousMecha form complete with pilot seat, and that bears a bit of resemblance to [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion EVA Unit 01]].]]
* ShipperOnDeck: Actively supports Miyako/Yamato.
* SpecialEffectsFailure: Invoked. He gets a special attack animation during Tsubame's route... but it's just a simple overhead chop. It lasts approximately three seconds and has no flash or substance to it, making it clearly intentional and comedic.
* SuperPoweredRobotMeterMaids: A hyper complex robot capable of understanding human emotions, widescale destruction and more, but his main usage tends to be making popcorn and general activities like cleaning.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: No, robots are not that common in this series, but his existence is still rarely commented upon.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Class 2-F]]
!Tadakatsu "Gen-san" Minamoto
->Voiced by: JunichiSuwabe (Japanese) and Houston Hayes (English)
Gen is one of the members of Yamato's dorm. He tends towards surliness, but is actually quite a nice guy. He's also popular with girls, but to Usami's consternation displays no interest in them, though he admits to Yamato there's someone he likes.
----
* ActorAllusion: During Momoyo's route, he notes that he [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight knows a bit of archery]] if that's of any use.
* ChickMagnet: He's one of the four most popular guys in the school along with Touma, Cap and an unnamed guy.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: He's in love with Wanko.
* EstrogenBrigadeBait: When he was only wearing trunks, Chika apparently wants him.
* {{Friendzone}}: Wanko views him as an older brother figure rather than a love interest, which doesn't surprise him much.
* NiceGuy: Tsundere attitude aside, he's very considerate and helpful without expecting anything in return.
* {{Tsundere}}: Yamato even plays with and lampshades it in his face once.
-->'''Gen:''' "I'll Make you more tea. But..."
-->'''Yamato:''' "I know, we won't get you wrong".
-->'''Gen:''' "Good that you understand. It's not for your sake."
!Suguru Oogushi
->Voiced by: NobuoTobita (Japanese) and Leraldo Anzaldua (English)
An unathletic member of class 2F, Suguru scorns the real world, especially real women. He's intelligent and calculating to an extent, but a complete otaku to the core.
----
* InsaneTrollLogic: He wants to fully embrace the 2d world, so after finding Chika attractive ''once'' he decides to hire a prostitute to lose his virginity so that he can completely hate the experience and sever his ties with the real world.
* {{Otaku}}: To a ridiculous, amazing and hilarious degree.
!Ikuro Fukumoto
->Voiced by: KappeiYamaguchi (Japanese)
A short, monkey like member of class 2F. His raging perversion puts even the likes of Gakuto to shame.
----
* DoubleStandardRapeMaleOnMale: It's strongly implied that he was raped in a sauna, but not only does he seem okay with this, but it apparently turned him gay. The entire thing is played for laughs.
* InSeriesNickname: Yonpachi, or forty eight. He got this name for memorizing all 48 positions of the Kama Sutra.
* LovableSexManiac: Yonpachi talks about sex constantly. If he isn't talking about sex it's only because he isn't in the scene.
!Mitsuru Kumagai
A massive but kind member of class 2F, Kuma is actually pretty physically powerful. Due to being a rather nice guy and knowing all about food, he has a lot of friends.
----
* BigEater: Umeko frequently has to knock food out of his hands while he eats during class.
* BerserkButton: He can get kind of unpleasant if he goes too long without eating.
* GentleGiant: He's massive and quite strong, but he's a really nice guy.
* NiceGuy: His easy going and generous attitude makes him one of the most popular students in the class.
* StoutStrength: Despite his rather heavy frame, he's pretty strong and quite difficult to effectively damage.
!Mayo Amakasu
->Voiced by: Kayo Sakata (Japanese) and Margaret [=McDonald=] (English)
Mayo is the short, pink haired class representative. Despite her tiny size and the fact that no one takes her seriously, she views herself as the CoolBigSis type. She has a sub route in the VisualNovel.
----
* ClassRepresentative: Subverted, as she's really no good at it. Despite her effort.
* HypocriticalHumor:
-->'''Mayo''': [Monshiro] is the type of person that tries to act like an adult, so I want to adore her as an onee-san!
-->'''Chika''': R-right... there are types of people like that.
* OlderThanTheyLook: The game claims she's seventeen or eighteen at times, but she looks more like seven or eight.
* TokenMiniMoe: Much to Jun's joy, she fills the cast niche of 'girl that looks way too young to be in this kind of story.'
* TotallyEighteen: She's skipped several grades and is a second year high school student, but the game assures us at length that she's actually eighteen.
!Chika Ogasawara
->Voiced by: Hiroka Nishizawa (Japanese) and Kris Carr (English)
A pretty and popular girl in class 2F, Chika is more or less a standard teenager. While generally being a fairly nice person, there are both boys and girls that don't like her and she responds in kind. She has a sub route in the VisualNovel.
!Kuroko Haguro
->Voiced by: Yoshinori Fujita (Japanese) and DavidMatranga (English)
A somewhat unpleasant girl in class 2F, Haguro tends to be the butt of jokes when Gakuto and the others aren't available. She has little in the way of sympathetic moments, but during Momo's route she sacrifices herself in the war game to protect 2F's flag and is beaten unconscious for her efforts.
----
* ButtMonkey: Though not to the same extent as the likes of Gakuto.
* DarkSkinnedBlonde: Ganguro variant
* GenericCuteness: She's treated as a {{Gonk}} both by the characters and the narrative, but other than her very dark skin colour and her boyish voice, she doesn't look much different than most other characters.
* {{Jerkass}}: She tends to be rather unpleasant to everyone apart from Chika on occasion.
* ReallyGetsAround: Whenever there's someone attractive around she starts talking about how she wants to rape them, or talks about how she'd totally sell herself out for money or all sorts of things.
* ThrowTheDogABone: After a consistently low portrayal throughout, she gets a moment of dignity and bravery in Momoyo's route where, after insulting everything her class has been doing, she finds herself defending the team flag from attack despite being knocked unconscious for her efforts.
* VocalDissonance: She has a low boyish voice.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Class 2-S]]
!Hideo Kuki
->Voiced by: YuuichiNakamura (Japanese) and Andrew Love (English)
Hideo is a loud, brash member of class 2S and its class representative. He is both strong and intelligent, though kind of arrogant due to him being a member of the [[{{Fiction500}} absurdly rich Kuki Family]]. In spite of this, his hamminess leads to the story not taking him very seriously. He is in love with Wanko because of the dedication she gives to mastering martial arts.
----
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:He comes to the rescue in the nick of time for the climactic fight of the Ryuuzetsuran route.]]
* DoggedNiceGuy: Persistently pursues Wanko despite her clear lack of interest.
* {{Fiction 500}}: He is the middle child in of the Kuki family. They own and run the [[{{MegaCorp}} Kuki Corporation]], a multinational conglomerate that employs a private army of [[NinjaMaid Ninja Maids]] and [[BattleButler Battle Butlers]], invests in [[RidiculouslyHumanRobots advanced robotic technology]], operates its own airlines, a chain of hotels, and as of [[{{Sequel}} Majikoi S]], have revealed to be in the market of human cloning, chemical manufacturing, and public works (they have Kuki manhole covers in Kawakami). It's no wonder he goes around calling Yamato and his friends "commoners".
* GagPenis: Almost all guys bow down to him in one hilarious episode.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Self inflicted. It's a family symbol.
* HopelessSuitor: Wanko is too nice to directly shoot him down, but she's completely uninterested.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He acts like an arrogant jerk a lot of the time, but it's mostly just him hamming it up. He's actually not a bad guy at all.
* LargeHam: Apparently, being a large ham is actually part of the family traditions.
* TestosteronePoisoning: Hideo is a man's man and not hesitant at all to let everyone know about it.
* XMarksTheHero: Like everyone else in his family, he had his forehead scarred when he was younger.
!Azumi Oshitari
->Voiced by: Megu Ashiro (Japanese) and Elizabeth Bannor (English)
Hideo's bodyguard and maid, she's also quite a powerful fighter. In yet another of the spinoffs, ''A'', she gets a promotion to love interest.
----
* BerserkButton: She doesn't take comments about her real age well, but she can suppress that to fulfill her duty. The thing that trumps even that is insulting Hideo Kuki.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: When Hideo isn't watching, she tends to be foul mouthed and aggressive.
* BodyguardCrush: She admits this to Yamato in Monshiro's route in the sequel VN. In fact, it is encouraged that the Kuki children have intimate relationships with the personal servant they have chosen. Azumi ends up talking about it since she wanted to compare Yamato's progress with her own on their respective masters.
* CombatPragmatist: She's quite strong, but she also sets traps and attacks people quite deviously.
* TheFakeCutie: She acts rather cutesy when Hideo is looking, but is otherwise foul mouthed and violent.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She's not as bad she appears and is genuinely devoted to Hideo.
* NinjaMaid: Complete with clones, kunai and poison. She's actually an ex mercenary. She's the head of the Kuki maids.
* OlderThanTheyLook: She's in her late 20s (actually older than Ume-sensei), but blends in with the other high school girls.
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: She's rather disdainful of Yamato and has no idea what Margit sees in him in ''S''. It becomes more amusing when Azumi's route in the next spinoff was announced. Still, in Monshiro's route she grows to respect him well enough.
* WorthyOpponent: Comes to view Yamato as one in Chris route. And one point while fighting him, she realises how dangerous he is despite being physically weaker than him, and [[LetsGetDangerous goes all out]].
!Touma Aoi
->Voiced by: KojiYusa (Japanese) and Connor Leach (English)
An intelligent and handsome schemer, Touma largely serves as the brains of class 2S. He is just as sneaky as Yamato and the two appear to enjoy their rivalry.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Flirts with Yamato occasionally. Yamato is not pleased.
* [[spoiler:BigBad]]: [[spoiler: He's the [[ManBehindTheMan Mallord]] that is hinted at throughout the various scenarios, that Shakado & Ryuuhei report to. He's finally [[TheReveal revealed]] in the Ryuuzetsuran route. This apparently happens when the dad you've been looking up to as a successful yet compassionate man turns out to be a corrupt and dirty businessman who wants you to succeed him in his footsteps.]]
* BiTheWay: Has admitted to being so.
** DepravedBisexual: Though he also gets this sort of treatment.
* TheCharmer: Very popular with the ladies for his looks and good manners. He's able to use this to advantage quite well.
* TheRival: He tends to work as Yamato's rival and gets a lot of fun out of it.
* StoicSpectacles: He's flirty, but most of the time he acts aloof and intelligent.
* TheStrategist: Class S's, making him and Yamato natural rivals.
* WouldntHitAGirl: During the Kawakami Battle in Chris' route he loses a match because he refuses to hit girls.
!Koyuki Sakakibara
->Voiced by: hitomi (Japanese) and Allison Sumrall (English)
Koyuki is a rather pretty but detached girl that clings to both Touma and Jun. She appears quite lost without them. Beneath the pretty exterior, she seems quite unhinged.
----
* CloudCuckooLander: She's rather spacy and out there. Occasionally she also tells depressing stories.
* ColorCodedCharacters: She's extremely pale, has white hair, is always seen in her white uniform and even has a name that contains the character for 'snow.'
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Many hints of her athleticism are dropped in the various scenarios, and hell, the opening of the game. [[spoiler:In the Ryuuzetsuran route, you see she's a Tae-Kwon Do master who can kick the crap out of Miyako, at least for a while, and even fought off Mayucchi for a little while.]]
* InnocentFanserviceGirl: Well, maybe not completely innocent. But given that her reaction to Yamato asking to 'taste the marshmallows on her chest' was to ''prove'' he can't by letting him try...
* NightmareFetishist: She plans to be a nurse, which terrifies Yamato when he thinks of her creepy and destructive tendencies.
* StrangeGirl: She rarely pays attention, gets easily distracted by passing butterflies and almost seems proud of her bizarre nature.
!Jun Inoue
->Voiced by: TomokazuSugita (Japanese) and ChrisAyres (English)
Jun is one of the most normal members of the cast, lolicon tendencies aside. He's quite strong, fast and coolheaded, but due to said lolicon tendencies the story frequently makes him the butt of jokes.
----
* ButtMonkey: Gets playfully abused by Momo and Azumi, mostly for his {{Lolicon}} tendencies.
* ChivalrousPervert: While a self-admitted Lolicon he limits himself to watching, when he encountered an actual pedophile who tried to take advantage of a little girl he chased him away.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He's almost as fast as Kazama. [[spoiler:In the Ryuuzetsuran route, he's shown to be a very strong boxer who wiped the floor with Kazama, and then took on both Kazama & Hideo at the same time!]]
* {{Lolicon}}
* OnlySaneMan: He is the only "normal" person in class S and also the only one that have friendly relationship with member of class F.
** NotSoAboveItAll: However, whenever he is looking too normal lolicon jokes start to show up.
!Kokoro Fushikawa
->Voiced by: KaoriMizuhashi (Japanese) and HillaryHaag (English)
A bratty and childish member of class 2S, Kokoro is quite aware that nobody really takes her seriously and that she's frequently laughed at. While haughty, she's actually nicer than she seems. She is surprisingly competent in a fight, but she always cries when she loses.
----
* ButtMonkey: This seems to be the actual cause for many of her failures, rather than lack of skill.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: She's a crybaby who fails more than she succeeds. Despite that, she's still a capable fighter who fits well in the S class.
* CryCute: Most notably one time in the anime, after she trips. Yamato even comments that she looks cute. Cue Cupid's arrow.
* GracefulLoser: She falls for Yamato during Mayucchi's route and [[VisualNovel/TheyAreMyNobleMasters offers to make him her butler]] but he refuses. Upon being asked again after having time to think it over, he refuses again and she wants to know why. When hearing that it's because he's interested in Mayucchi, she stops protesting and leaves it at that... though she still insults him once before leaving. For Kokoro, that's about as graceful a loss as you can hope to get.
* HimeCut: A noble like her would probably not consider a different haircut.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Most of the time. She has ''some'' successes, both for and against the protagonist's side.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She can be pretty nice so long as you resist the urge to pick on her. She also makes it pretty obvious that she has no personal problems with the people she insults and will welcome them with open arms under the right circumstances, such as entering class S or treating her decently.
* LonelyRichKid: She does want to have friends, but she's been raised to think of herself as the elite and thus is incredibly condescending even by the standards of class S.
* NoblewomansLaugh: Does it pretty often as expected of the family she's part of.
* {{Odango}} with GirlishPigtails: Befitting her often childish and somewhat tsundere personality.
* {{Ojou}}: Yamato apparently has his [[SpankTheCutie own ways of dealing with that]] in the sequel.
* PromotedToLoveInterest: In the sequel. It's also possible to get a NonstandardGameOver with her in one of the routes in the original game.
* RavenHairIvorySkin: In her route in ''S'', Yamato comments that this is one of her best features, fitting her noble persona.
* SpankTheCutie: In her route in ''S'', Yamato vows to reform her behavior and make her into someone people would actually accept as their friend. Punishment for failure to treat people as equals instead of as monkeys? Spanking. He rather enjoys it.
* SpoiledBrat: Even if she does want to have friends, she tends to be a jerk to everyone.
* {{Tsundere}}: Not a stereotypical one, but while she eventually does warm up in the sequel, she does have problems with affection that takes this form on occasion.
!Margit Eberbach
->Voiced by: Kei Mizusawa (Japanese) and Caitlynn French (English)
[[EliteArmy Special forces]] soldier from the German military, and a subordinate of [[FourStarBadass Lieutenant General]] Frank Friedrich, [[OverprotectiveDad who is Chris' father]]. Sent by the general to ensure nothing bad happened to her. Though placed in a different class, Margit is highly protective of Chris. She and Chris view each other as sisters. She is one of the strongest members of the cast.
----
* AggressiveSubmissive: She's rather masochistic and enjoys her relationship with Yamato more when he takes the lead.
* BloodKnight: She really enjoys fighting and despite orders to the contrary it's very hard to for her to restrain herself from fighting Momoyo.
* CasualKink: She and Yamato enter a lightly BDSM based relationship. Mostly dominance and submission stuff.
* CatchPhrase[=/=]PreAssKickingOneLiner: [[GratuitousGerman Hasen Jagd!]]
* CovertPervert: To her surprise more than Yamato's she can be quite lecherous.
* FieryRedhead: Befitting her BloodKnight tendencies.
* LoveObstructingParents: Subverted. Chris' father treats Margit like his daughter and she interacts with Chris like her doting older sister, but while he gets in the way of Chris' romance in the original he thinks highly enough of Yamato that he is willing to accept him dating Margit. However, he's largely unaware of how, shall we say, ''bold'' Yamato is and calls to recommend they begin with holding hands while they're in the middle of some kinky stuff.
* PromotedToLoveInterest: In the sequel she gets a mini route that is mostly composed of sex scenes.
* WeaponofChoice: Twin tonfas.
* WillfullyWeak: Wears her EyepatchOfPower as a self-inflicted disadvantage. Otherwise, fights are too easy. Doubles as IAmNotLeftHanded when she takes it off.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Other Characters]]
!Reiko Shimazu
->Voiced by: Natsuko Tauchi (Japanese) and Tiffany Terrell (English)
Gakuto's mother, she is in her late 40s and quite prone to flattery. She's also quite a kind woman, but can be quite scary.
!Umeko Kojima
The homeroom teacher for class 2F, she carries a whip at all times and is perfectly willing to use it on students. She gets away with it being his by a hot teacher apparently awakens the target's masochistic side. She is also quite a strong fighter.
----
* ChristmasCake: She's 28 and has had never had a real boyfriend. During her sub route, she's extremely upset to realize that she's reached the age where suitors reject ''her'' rather than the opposite even when she had planned as much.
* HotTeacher: Her looks mean that the students never complain about her despite her use of the whip on them. They get turned on instead.
* SternTeacher: Umeko can be quite strict, but she really does want the best for her students.
* WhipItGood: She comes from a family that specializes in the use of whips during combat and can do all sorts of neat tricks with them. She's actually quite a good fighter.
!Kyojin Usami
Usami is the second major teacher at the school and has quite the air of a deadbeat. However, he gives very practical, down to earth advice and is surprisingly strong. He is apparently in love with his fellow teacher Umeko, though he never makes any progress despite her search for a proper boyfriend.
----
* CombatPragmatist: He's quite good in a fight, but favors the use of dirty tactics.
* CoolOldGuy: He wants to be seen as one and largely succeeds, but only from a meta perspective. His students only take him seriously about half of the time.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He acts like a lazy bum... No, he ''is'' a lazy bum, but he was also an underworld fighting master and has the skills to back it up.
* DoggedNiceGuy: Pursues Umeko, but she finds him entirely unsuitable even though she's getting a little desperate.
* HopelessSuitor: Even more so than Hideo Kuki he has no chance at all. Umeko finds him to be entirely unsuitable. Gates calculates his chances as equal to 0%. Not one in a thousand, a million, or even a trillion. Zero.
!Iyo Oowada
->Voiced by: Mahiro Chiaki (Japanese)
A new transfer student, Iyo is Mayucchi's first friend outside the Kazama family. She is a major baseball fan. While she does not seem to appear outside of Mayucchi's route, her existence is occasionally briefly alluded to, showing that she makes friend with Mayucchi regardless of Yamato's assistance.
----
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: She was bullied before for having a strong passion for baseball.
* PromotedToLoveInterest: She has a mini route in ''S'', though it's ''very'' short.
* SatelliteCharacter: She's Mayucchi's first friend and little else.
!Kosugi Musashi
->Voiced by: Noriko Rikimaru (Japanese)
A brash and arrogant first year student, Kosugi tries to pick fights and intends to be the strongest student in the school. She [[FailedASpotCheck casually dismisses]] [[MasterSwordsman Yukie's]] [[SilkHidingSteel perceived]] [[BewareTheNiceOnes ability]], which is really all you need to know about her ability to evaluate her own competence relative to others.
----
* AlphaBitch: In Mayucchi's route she can be seen elevating her own position by abusing Iyo until Mayucchi steps in.
* BigBadWannabe: She's not completely incompetent, but she's so far out of her league that she can't even realize how insignificant she really is.
* {{Buttmonkey}}: She is not taken seriously by the story at all. Whenever she gets too full of herself, the story tosses abuse on her to cut her back down to size.
* {{Jerkass}}: She tends to be pretty horrible to everyone.
* ProfessionalButtKisser: If she is taken down a peg by another person, she will ingratiate herself to them in order to curry favour. Sometimes, [[TheStarscream she plots her revenge against said person]], but this is never realized due to her {{Buttmonkey}} status.
* PromotedToLoveInterest: Oddly enough, she gets a route in 'S'. Though it's very short.
* VerbalTic: She's fond of using the word "[[GratuitousEnglish premium]]" to describe herself or her abilities.
!Takae Tachibana
->Voiced by: ShihoKawaragi (Japanese) and Genevieve Simmons (English)
Coupled with Momoyo, Ageha and Mayucchi she is the last member of Japan's Big Four, the group that represents the strongest fighters in Japan.
----
* AlliterativeName: Both names begin with the 'ta' syllable.
* HandicappedBadass: Occasionally seen with artificial arms, but sometimes not.
* PeekABangs: She has long hair covering most of her upper face.
* PromotedToLoveInterest: In MajiKoi A-5.
!Tatsuko Itagaki
->Voiced by: NatsumiYanase (Japanese) and Tiffany Terrell (English)
----
* [[BashBrothers Bash Sisters]]: With Benkei in Tsubame's route. Really not an OddFriendship when you think about it.
-->'''Tatsuko''': [[CallingYourAttacks DOUBLE!]]
-->'''Benkei''': [[CallingYourAttacks LARIAT!]]
* [[spoiler: TheBerserker]]
* BerserkButton: Don't mess with Yamato and don't mess with her family. A fair fight is one thing, but anything too one sided will set her off.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She just wants to be with Yamato and her siblings. Don't try to mess with that.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: She's lazy and silly looking, but she's also extremely powerful.
* BoobsOfSteel: Clearly, the first hint that she's so strong is that she matches Momoyo in size.
* CloudCuckoolander: But compared to the rest of her family, she's probably the most normal.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: [[spoiler: If you can [[CurbstompBattle curbstomp]] Chris and Wanko in about [[OneHitKill one blow each]], proceed to go one on one with [[BloodKnight Momoyo]], and be so strong that you force her to end the battle in a DoubleKnockout by using a LimitBreak in TakingYouWithMe fashion, you are a [[{{Badass}} Badass]] of the highest order]].
* DeathGlare: And combined with VaderBreath. [[spoiler: This is the sign that's she's gone berserk.]]
* TheDitz: She's very spacy and out there.
* EyesAlwaysShut: She's always half asleep, so her eyes are always close.
* ImprovisedWeapon: [[spoiler: She '''rips a sign out of the ground''' to use on Chris and Wanko]].
* LightningBruiser: Fast and brutal.
* MadnessMantra
--->"Yamato-kun...Yamato-kun...Yamato-kun...'''Yamato-kun'''...'''YAMATO-KUN'''!!
* PromotedToLoveInterest: In the sequel.
* [[spoiler:ScreamingWarrior]]: Be careful that the volume isn't too high during that scene.
* SleepyHead: She sleeps ''all the time''. Overlaps with HeavySleeper. She met Yamato in the first place by seeing him sleeping on the riverbank and joining him.
* TheLoad: She appears to be this to her sisters. [[spoiler:But really, she far outweighs all of her siblings '''combined'''.]]
* ThemeMusicPowerUp: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKKmJ6uG1Bs March of a Beast]]. [[CrowningMusicOfAwesome Oh yeah]].
* UnskilledButStrong: Not much for tactics, but the strongest of the siblings.
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: She nearly trashes her own brother for messing with Yamato. The TranquilFury and CreepyMonotone obviously has him [[OhCrap terrified]].
* {{Yandere}}: Shades of it.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: She has bright blue hair.
!Tesshin Kawakami
->Voiced by: Masaaki Tsukada (Japanese, Original Visual Novel), Binbin Takaoka (Japanese, Anime Adaptation/Majikoi S!/Majikoi A-1) and John Swasey (English, Anime Adaptation)
Head of the Kawakami Temple, Principal of the Kawakami Academy, master of [[FantasticFightingStyle Kawakami-Ryu]], and Momoyo's grandfather. He is the supreme arbiter of disputes and duels in the academy when they arise, and has a lot of influence in the martial arts world as the teacher of Momoyo, 'The God of Battle'.
----
* BadassGrandpa: Is related by blood to Momoyo, and is looking after her [[InvisibleParents while her parents travel the world to refine their martial arts]]. That said, he, in spite of his age, is still one of the most powerful martial artists in the world, being one of the few people in the setting that are able to go toe-to-toe with [[WorldsStrongestMan Momoyo]] in a straight up fight.
* CaptainErsatz: Bears more than a passing resemblance to [[{{Bleach}} Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto]]. Heck, they even got Masaaki Tsukada, his voice actor to come across in the original Majikoi.
* EyesAlwaysShut: Part of his character design, carried over from who he's based on. (see CaptainErsatz)
* LovableSexManiac: Like many older anime men before him, his love of the female form has not waned with age. He especially has an obsession with bloomers and swimsuits. He's good at keeping it under-wraps... most of the time.
* OldMaster: When he is not attending to his duties at the academy, he's training Momoyo, Kazuko and the numerous monks that reside at the Kawakami Temple.
* SchoolOfHardKnocks: Runs one, and encourages the students to duel each other in order to better themselves.
!The Prime Minister
->Voiced by: NorioWakamoto (Japanese) and IllichGuardiola (English)
The Prime Minister of Japan. He is often seen around the Kawakami Temple or the Tama river, but most people assume that he's just someone who looks similar to him, a mistake that he encourages. He's a competent former student of the Kawakami Temple and a genuinely good guy.
----
* BadassBaritone: A given, since he's voiced by the legendary NorioWakamoto.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: His name isn't given. He's just called the Prime Minister.
* FriendlySniper: When he does appear, he gives advice to various main characters when they are feeling troubled. Still, in Yukie's route, he racks up the highest body count on his [[TournamentArc King of Soldiers]] team due to Yamato going for a safe sniping based strategy despite the presence of close range fighters Mayucchi and Kokoro.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Looks like his voice actor.
* SniperDuel: Gets into one in Yukie's route. [[spoiler:Takes out an enemy sniper during the King of Soldiers competition, not flinching even when the other sniper's bullet grazed his cheek.]]
!Gyoubu Shakadou
->Voiced by: KeijiFujiwara (Japanese) and David Wald (English)
A former assistant master at the Kawakami Temple, Shakadou is an extremely strong fighter but was too brutal for Tesshin's tastes and was fired. He and Momoyo appear to get along well due to their fixation on fighting and power.
----
* EvilMentor: He had great influence on Momoyo before getting expelled from the Kawakami Temple for "attitude" problems. Lu worries that Momoyo is becoming too much like him.
* EvilCounterpart: To Lu. This is even pointed out with Momoyo's attitude towards fighting and techniques -- who learned from Shakadou -- when compared to Wanko's, who learned from Lu. With Shakadou and Momoyo taking a nearly MightMakesRight approach with a focus on techniques with more [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill overwhelming power]], while Lu and Wanko have a far more balanced approach overall.
* PunchClockVillain: Most of the time he's just sort of hired by others to accomplish some task or another. When his job is complete, he peacefully leaves. After all, he has no real investment in what's going on.
* VillainsOutShopping: Along with his students, the Itagaki siblings. It doesn't stop him from being a JerkAss, but if he's not hired to beat you to a pulp, he can be a relatively friendly guy. He's still pretty scary though.

[[folder:Introduced in Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai S]]
!Tsubame Matsunaga
Tsubame is one of the new characters introduced in ''S'' and was brought in by Hume in order to be a challenger that could defeat Momoyo. While she does have impressive physical ability, it's obvious that her real strength lies in manipulation and tactics. She enjoys teasing Yamato.
----
* CombatPragmatist: Uses a variety of weapons, switching for the need. Her tactics can also be pretty dirty, but she's rather upfront about that.
* CoolBigSis: She begins edging into Momoyo's territory here [[spoiler:in order to piss her off and make the upcoming fight easier]].
* DaddysGirl: Her BumblingDad is the only parental figure present [[spoiler:as her mom left their family when her dad gambled away their savings on the stock market. He's been doing his best to atone for that mistake and most of the pair's efforts is to convince their mom/wife to return]].
* EasilyForgiven: In the 'Yamato Takes the Lead' branch of her route [[spoiler:she falls for a Kuki trick and tries to steal company secrets. She's detected immediately and chased down, but thanks to Yamato all she gets is a light punishment from Hume and ''a Kuki contract.'' Industrial espionage isn't really that big of a deal, apparently, though it helps that the Kuki corporation basically tricked her into trying so they could get that contract.]]
* {{Greed}}: The vice she learns to overcome in the later parts of her route.
* IShallTauntYou: Used as part of her CombatPragmatist strategy. [[spoiler:She intentionally pisses of Momoyo to make her fight more sloppily than normal]].
* LoveConfession: [[spoiler:Confesses to Yamato after beating Momoyo.]] Your response changes how the following story plays out: [[spoiler:If you try to turn her down, she's heartbroken and Yamato admits that he ''does'' like her, so they start going out anyway, but with Yamato having more control. If you accept, Tsubame is in control.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: [[spoiler:She gets information from Yamato and Momoyo in order to exploit all of Momoyo's weaknesses.]]
* MasterOfNone: While using a large variety of weapons, it's noted that she's not as good with a naginata as Wanko or a rapier as Chris.
* ProductPlacement: Is the spokesperson for Matsunaga Natto; her family's line of natto related food products. When she appears, she is usually handing out free samples to people, or plopping some in their food, regardless of if they have given permission. Thankfully, the natto always well received.
* TheTease: She seems to enjoy flirting with Yamato a lot, though with more of a trickster attitude than Miyako's blatant lust or Momoyo's possessiveness.
!Monshiro Kuki
Youngest child of the [[{{Fiction500}} wealthy and influential Kuki Family]], and one of the new heroines in ''S''. Is remarkably mature and detail-oriented in spite of being the youngest sibling, after Hideo and Ageha.
----
* ActorAllusion: She randomly mentions a doll named [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Heracles]] when talking to Yamato.
* TotallyEighteen: The story assures us at great length that she's definitely 18.
* TokenMiniMoe: Token little girl of the S primary characters.
* UnequalPairing: Her family invokes the idea. Kuki family members are supposed to hire an opposite sex servant and hook up with them normally. Hideo and Ageha are simply uninterested in the idea, unlike Monshiro, as shown in her route.
* WellDoneSonGuy: She's really desperate for her mother, Tsubone's, approval. [[spoiler:It's difficult since she's not related to Tsubone. Mon is the child of an affair between Tsubone's husband, Mikado, and another woman]].
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: Is much more mature, thoughtful and considerate of other's feelings than her brash and sometimes arrogant brother, Hideo.
* XMarksTheHero: It's apparently a custom in her family. [[spoiler:In her route, her step-mother Tsubone reveals that Monshiro inflicted the mark on herself when she was younger in order to gain Tsubone's acceptance, since Monshiro is the child of an extra-marital affair]].
!Hume Hellsing
A battle-scarred, [[BattleButler top-ranked servant and bodyguard]] of the [[{{Fiction500}} Kuki Corporation]], he's the personal butler to his employers [[IronLady Tsubone]] and [[TheAce Mikado]] Kuki, heads of the aforementioned corporation. During ''S'', he acts as Monshiro's personal bodyguard while she attends Kawakami Academy. At other times, he acts as the Kuki Corporation's top enforcer, being sent after problematic individuals and sent to oversee important Kuki events and operations. He is one of the most powerful fighters in the setting, [[WorldOfBadass and that's saying a lot]].
----
* BadassBaritone: His voice is befitting of his overwhelmingly intimidating appearance.
* BadassBeard: Short and well trimmed, but enhances his edgy/strong facial character design.
* BadassGrandpa: Is referred to by other characters as being quite old. That does not do anything to hinder his badass abilities.
* BattleButler: Works as one for Kuki Monshiro, but he's actually the personal servant of [[TheAce Mikado]] and [[IronLady Tsubone]] Kuki, the founders of [[MegaCorp the world-spanning Kuki Corporation]]. He is [[UpToEleven ranked 0]] among the [[PrivateMilitaryContractors corporation's entire Servant Unit]]. This is because he is magnitudes more powerful than the Rank 1 servant, [[NinjaMaid Oshitari Azumi]], Kuki Hideo's personal servant.
* DeathGlare: Seems to permanently be sporting one, even when he's smirking arrogantly.
* EyesOfGold: He has them. Fittingly, his origin is mysterious, and his abilities are ridiculously superhuman [[WorldOfBadass even among the inhabitants of this universe]]. He even gives [[WorldsStrongestMan Momoyo]] pause.
* PhenotypeStereotype: As a foreigner (where he is from specifically is never mentioned), he has brilliant blonde hair.
* SubmissiveBadass: Comes with being a BattleButler. He can wipe the floor with most of the cast, even giving Momoyo a run for her money, but he is intensely loyal to the Kuki family.
* XMarksTheHero: Appears to have one. Whether it is a mark of loyalty to the Kuki family, or a [[GoodScarsEvilScars scar]] he sustained during his long life as a warrior is not known. It becomes more pronounced when he actually gives a DeathGlare.
!Claudio Nero
An elderly member the [[{{Fiction500}} Kuki Corporation]] [[BattleButler Servant Unit]]. In ''S'', he occasionally accompanies Monshiro as her bodyguard when Hume is elsewhere.
----
* BadassGrandpa: Don't let the white hair fool you.
* BattleButler: He's ranked 3rd in terms of power among the Kuki Corporation's [[PrivateMilitaryContractors entire Servant Unit]].
* ChubbyChaser: Has a thing for more 'wholesome' women. To illustrate, he shamelessly flirts with Gakuto's mom, Reiko, who is ecstatic at the attention.
* DeathGlare: When his eyes do harden, they are hidden behind his ScaryShinyGlasses.
* RazorFloss: His signature weapon, which he uses to entrap his opponents.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: Pulls this out whenever a fight is about to go down.
* SubmissiveBadass: Comes with being a Kuki Family BattleButler.
!Yoshitsune Minamoto
The ever formal, lightning fast warrior. A clone made by the Kuki Corporation, she was raised with Benkei and Yoichi from a young age, and acts as the leader of their group.
----
* GenderFlip: [[{{MST3K Mantra}} She says not to let her different gender affect one's perceptions of the hero Yoshitsune as one of her first lines.]]
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: Yoshitsune is a clone of a famous Japanese hero, Minamoto no Yoshitsune.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Her primary weapon is the katana, but she is still quite capable without it.
* OppositeSexClone
* {{Sarashi}}: She wears one under her clothes, like a true samurai girl.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Yoshitsune has a pretty cutesy way of talking for a legendary hero.
!Benkei Musashibou
The [[BoobsofSteel busty and strong]], laid-back and life-long companion of Yoshitsune and Yoichi. As a clone made by the Kuki Corporation, she's been Yoshitsune's closest friend since they were born, and is always making sure Yoichi reigns in his idiosyncrasies, much to his chargrin.
----
* BashBrothers: With Tatsuko in Tsubame's route.
* BoobsofSteel: Her ample bust matches her reputation as one of the strongest members of the cast.
* CoolBigSis: She tends to act as the older sister of the group. For Yoichi, she's terrifying.
* TheGadfly: Gets a lot of fun out of teasing Yoshitsune.
* GenderFlip: Exactly why Benkei is a girl is intentionally never elaborated on. [[{{MST3K Mantra}} Everyone is told not to worry about the whole thing early on.]]
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: Benkei was a monk and close follower of the real life Yoshitsune. The clone retains this role... [[TheGadfly sort of]].
* LazyBum: Being so lazy and laid back is why Yamato can get along with her so well. This goes well with Yamato's innate ability to earn the affection of older women.
* OppositeSexClone
* PromotedToLoveInterest: In the first release of ''A'' she gets her own route.
* ShipTease: She gets quite a bit of ship tease during the common and character routes of ''S'' due to her nature as a lazy bum that Yamato can hang out with easily.
!Yoichi Nasu
The paranoid, angsty but brilliant archer companion of Yoshitsune and Benkei. He's actually a clone made by the Kuki Corporation.
----
* ArcherArchetype: Incredibly skilled archer, who could give even Miyako a run for her money. He's also distant and haughty, though Benkei does her best to reign in these tendencies.
* {{Bishonen}}: He has good looks, but his bizarre personality keeps him from being too popular.
* ConspiracyTheorist: This allows Yamato to form a close relationship with him since he once had the same personality as him. Yoichi looks up to and respects him as his senior while Yamato often reverts to his old, darker personality to convince him to follow Benkei's or Yoshitsune's orders or to get him to get along with others.
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: He's a clone of the Japanese samurai Nasu no Yoichi, who served the Minamoto Clan in real life. He was renowned for his archery skills, and his clone carries on this innate skill.
!Seiso Hazakura
A book-loving girl that gets transferred to 3-S. She is also a clone, but she herself is initially unaware of whom she is based off of.
----
* {{Bookworm}}: She loves hanging out in the library, and is given the title of 'literature girl' by other students. This is done entirely in a positive way, as she quickly becomes one of the most popular girls in the academy.
* BadassBookworm: Though she doesn't look like it or act like it, she possesses immense strength and speed. Her signature move is a light shove, which is enough to send someone hurtling across the room.
* TheDragon: In Koyuki's route (which is untranslated as of writing). [[spoiler: She serves as the right-hand of Ms. Marple, the Rank 2 servant of the Kuki Corporation, helping her further the true Project S]].
!Tadashi Nabeshima
The principal of Kawakami Academy's rival institution in the west, the Tenjin Academy. Also a former student of [[OldMaster Tesshin Kawakami]].
----
* CigarChomper
* NiceHat: A crisp, white fedora with red banding. Very stylish.
* RetiredBadass: Was once one of the Big Four Devas, of the martial arts world. [[WorldsStrongestMan Momoyo]] is one of them. That's all the evidence you need of his credentials.
* SharpDressedMan: Rocking a white suit and fedora, [[DamnItFeelsGoodToBeAGangster reminiscent of 1920's gangster's fashion]].
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Introduced in Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai A]]
!Sayaka Mayuzumi
----
Yukie's younger sister. She was only mentioned in the original Majikoi but did not have an appearance. Gets her own route in ''A-1''.
* ACupAngst: During the BeachEpisode in her route, which actually happens at the Kawakami Academy swimming pool, she says she's certain that [[BuxomIsBetter Yukie]] is leeching nutrients and pheremones from her to stunt her growth in this department.
--->'''Sayaka''': I'm sorry that I'm a kiwi that accidentally got mixed in with a bunch of melons.
* ArrangedMarriage: The main reason for her to come to Kawakami City and meet the main characters. [[spoiler:She ran away from her home in the country to stay with Yukie in the dorm, as Sayaka and her father Taisei had a fight over moving through with the earliest stage of an arranged marriage; a marriage interview (''omiai'' in Japanese)]].
* CameraFiend: Has shades of this. While she isn't an IntrepidReporter, she likes documenting everything she experiences with her camera phone.
* CovertPervert: Again, just like her older sibling. She is prone to [[LuminescentBlush full face flush]] at even the most innocent of innuendos.
* GirlishPigtails: Much like her elder sister except her's come around the front, rather than the back.
* [[TalkingToThemself Talking To Herself]]: She's like her older sister in this respect, except she doesn't rely on a phone-strap to do the same thing.
* MotorMouth: Whenever she's [[TalkingToThemself talking to herself]].
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: In spite of being Yukie's younger sister, Sayaka is the more level-headed sibling, and is better socially adjusted.
!Taisei Mayuzumi
----
The father of Yukie and Sayaka, he's the 11th Dan Kensei, [[RedBaron Sword Saint]]: [[MasterSwordsman the most powerful swordsman in the world]]. He works on passing on his legendary skills to his daughters. Only mentioned in the original Majikoi, but finally makes an appearance in ''A-1''.
* BadassMustache: Sports one that manages to look both fatherly and badass.
* BattleAura: His is green. [[spoiler: He calls it up in a duel against Yamato and Sayaka]].
* GoodOldWays: Immediately apparent by his character sprite; showing him wearing traditional Japanese robes with his sword sheaths. Also evident in that he wishes the best for his daughters, especially Sayaka, but demonstrates this by wanting to set up [[ArrangedMarriage ''omiais'']] for her so her future will be secure with a husband; something that were commonplace when he was young. He also prefers to write letters and send them by snail-mail, in the age of mobile phones and texting. The latter complicates things for Sayaka later in her route.
* {{Haiku}}: As a 'living national treasure' of Japan, he feels that he should be cultured and refined, and that this can be accomplished by writing good haikus. However, he's not very good at it.
* HopelessWithTech: Type I. Goes hand in hand with his love of the GoodOldWays. He even has difficulty with using telephones or using cameras. Sayaka advises Yamato to avoid talking about tech, or asking her father to use tech for this reason.
--->'''Sayaka''': Dad, you're right next to the TV so could you turn it on?
--->'''Taisei''': That's impossible. I'm a swordsman, not a magician.
* MasterSwordsman: Explicitly stated to be the greatest in the world. He demonstrates this skill by dealing with two delinquents, striking them with his sword so quickly that Yamato barely sees him flinch when he strikes, leaving them ''standing unconscious''. [[UptoEleven He says his daughter, Yukie has surpassed him]].
* NoSell: Things go like this for most of Taisei's final trial for Yamato and Sayaka. [[spoiler:The pair must land a single blow on him to succeed in the final trial and [[EarnYourHappyEnding win the right to have a relationship]]]].
* WarriorPoet: Gets half way with his tranquil, reflective philosophy and his desire to become more cultured by authoring good haiku. Falls short as his haikus are just not up to scratch.
!Cookie 4 IS
----
A humanoid robot girl built by the Kuki Corporation. She is a more advanced version of the original Cookie, the Kazama Family's robotic companion.
* [[RidiculouslyHumanRobots Ridiculously Human Robot]]: In appearance, she looks more human compared to her predecessor, the original Cookie, who acts human but looks very much like a robot.
