->''This job will be done for a one time discount. The price is your kiss. That ought to be worth more than money.''

The protagonist of ''VideoGame/KillerIsDead''. Mondo's job is to execute criminals, and no hit is too big for him. He wields a [[KatanasAreJustBetter Japanese sword]] in his right hand and has a blood-powered artificial device where [[SwissArmyAppendage his left arm]] used to be, configured to accept all manner of interchangeable attachments. Although extraordinarily useful in his line of work, Mondo has no memory as to how he acquired this particular "feature."

When he´s not working, Mondo is quite the sweet-talker, seducing a wide variety of beautiful women with ease.

His favorite food is soft-boiled egg.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: According to an interview with Suda, Mondo was one of the people responsible for the killing of Bin Laden. The resulting evil energy released from killing him infected Mondo's teammates and his arm, resulting in his need to have it altered into a bionic one.
* AmnesiacHero: [[spoiler: At first, has no memory of his past prior to his arm being replaced. [[FakeMemories One of David's servants tries taking advantage of this.]]]]
* AntiHero: It soon becomes clear that despite fighting evil, Mondo doesn't really know or even care what's going on with the plot and mostly just cares about dating girls. [[spoiler:In the end, he is unable to resist David's dark matter]].
* ArmCannon: Mondo's left arm can change into a [[MoreDakka machine gun]], [[KillItWithIce ice blaster]], and [[WaveMotionGun charge cannon]].
* ArtificialLimbs: The Musselback.
* BadassInANiceSuit: Look at him.
* BishounenLine: In the final battle, [[spoiler:he turns into his Ultimondo form, but reverts to an even more normal form for the final phase]].
* CatchPhrase: "Killer Is Dead"
* CharacterTic: Tends to run his left arm through his hair. [[spoiler: This is used to tell us he's the figure on the moon in the ending.]]
** GlassesPull: This too, he doesn't fight in his glasses.
* ChickMagnet: There's an entire gameplay mechanic based around seducing women.
* TheComicallySerious: "Hmm, there's no oxygen on the moon, but I'm not dead yet. Strange..."
* CoolBoat: Lives in one.
** HouseboatHero
* {{Cyborg}}: On account of the Musselback.
* FinishingMove: Counter attacks, the Adrenaline Burst, and Judgement.
* ICallItVera: His katana is named "Gekkou" (Moonlight) and his left arm is given the much lest elegant epithet, "Musselback".
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: His frequent encounters with evil energy put him in danger of becoming a Wire. [[spoiler:In the end, he fails and becomes the next evil usurper of the moon.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:Cuts off Musselback to absorb all the pent-up Dark Matter on the Moon to stop it from infecting the Earth.]]
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Gekkou, Mondo's "beloved katana".
* LeanAndMean: Anti-heroic version.
* LevelUpAtIntimacyFive: The way in which he acquires new weapons and rewards? Successfully seducing beautiful women.
* LightningBruiser: When the combo meter goes up and Gekkou neo+Extreme is purchased, he becomes a whirling tempest of destruction.
* MediumAwareness: Like most Creator/Suda51 protagonists, he casually notes that he's in a video game, and at one point, even mocks David for failing live up to the standard with his "generic" TakeOverTheWorld plot.
* MommasBoy: Even as a grown man he would still come over to his mother's house for dinner. However, she expressed misgivings as to his working for the government.
* NotSoStoic: His suave and professional facade gradually crumbles as the game progresses. [[spoiler:Perhaps best show with his final execution of his brother David in the finale. Unlike every previous execution which he performed with solemn professionalism, he's absolutely pissed off and full of rage-filled bloodlust.]]
* OlderThanTheyLook: He's 35 years old, but could pass for almost a decade younger.
* PerpetualFrowner
* PowerLimiter: On his katana somehow. In-game, as you buy more upgrades for Gekkou, the limiters are removed.
* ThePowerOfBlood: Keeps your weapons energized, acts as an emergency reservoir of health and helps [[spoiler:protect you from being corrupted by Dark Matter]].
* ProfessionalKiller: An 'executioner' specifically.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: [[spoiler:Take warning indeed, he ends up becoming the next target of the firm]].
* ScaryShinyGlasses: He takes them off for battle, but when on, they're very shiny.
* ShutUpHannibal: He's not too fond of hearing his targets prattle on too long.
* TheStoic: Is rather stone-faced when his expression isn't contorted in rage. This lack of expression actually helps downplay his [[spoiler:resemblance to David]].
* StoicSpectacles
* SuperMode: During the second phase of the final battle. You can see glimpses of it earlier in the game, during Adrenaline Bursts. One could argue that it's more of a [[spoiler:SuperpoweredEvilSide]]. Once you beat the game, [[DoubleUnlock it becomes available as one of the outfits in the gift shop]] and doubles most of Mondo's stats when equiped, but it also reduces any money rewards by 90% or so.
* SwissArmyAppendage: [[InformedAbility Mondo's cybernetic arm supposedly possesses 99 secret functions]], but only the 7 abilities listed below are ever shown in the game.
** BorrowedBiometricBypass: Can shapeshift his bionic arm to sufficiently fool hand scanners.
** FreezeRay: The "Freeze Shooter" fires ice shots that slow down enemies hit by them.
** MoreDakka: The basic Bullet Shot ability it starts with, its rate of fire increases when upgraded.
** MundaneUtility: Can be used as a FingerSnapLighter to light torches.
** PowerFist: Used to grab, counter and yes, pummel.
** PoweredByAForsakenChild: Uses Blood as fuel for its attacks. Also, it just generally craves the stuff.
** ThisIsADrill: A powerful melee attack that destroys walls and shields.
** WaveMotionGun: The Charge Cannon does massive damage to most enemies, hits multiple ones and stuns [[DemonicSpider golden Wires]] instantly.
* TitleDrop: His CatchPhrase is the title of the game.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Soft-boiled eggs. Mondo lets Mika live with him because she makes them just the way he likes them.
* YouTalkTooMuch: [[spoiler:To David, during the final boss fight. Twice.]]

->''However, I need to inform you that the function of this office is execution. You got any problem with that?''

A retired executioner with an impeccable record, Bryan now runs the show – though he doesn´t pay much heed to company management, as he has a lot of confidence in his subordinates and really only still involves himself in the business as a matter of pride.

He was one of the best executioners in the world at one time, and his partially mechanized body serves as a reminder of his prestigious career.

Occasionally supports Mondo by combining himself with a gun turret to form the deadliest weapon of all: the widely-feared "Bryan Turret."
----
* AmbiguouslyHuman: The second episode has Bryan meet with Damon at a metaphysical "table" after Mondo slices the latter to pieces. However, this doesn't come up again.
* {{BFG}}: The Bryan Turret fires bullets, missiles and lasers.
* BlingOfWar: Near the end of the game.
* {{Cyborg}}: Has half his body mechanized and it's hinted he made Mondo's arm
* ProfessionalKiller: He is a retired hitman.
* RetiredBadass: Was really good at his job.
* SmokingIsCool: He lights up cigars with his robotic arm.
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: Bryan Turret is known as a feared execution technique, it's a turret gun that also has rockets on it.
* WeDoTheImpossible: Doesn't believe that his Agency is incapable of any job.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: He's a jovial employer. Until you get infected by too much Dark Matter. Then he'll blithely replace you and have his new hire hunt you down. Justified in that too much Dark Matter makes you a Wire in the long run.

->''By the way, do you know what it's called when the moon blocks out the sun?''

Vivienne is a calm, cool and collected executioner who always takes a firm but fair tone with clients and is generally well-liked by everyone. Should the topic of her private life come up, however, her mood may sour very quickly.

Whenever Mondo is in trouble, Vivienne swings by on her motorcycle to help him out, unleashing her move using 16 pistols collectively known as the "Vivienne Phantom."
----
* BadassBiker: When she gets in on the action, it tends to involve her trusty motorcycle and a lot of guns. She's no slouch with either.
%%* GunsAkimbo: And then some!
* MoreDakka: Her main fighting style is to summon a bunch of arms, all wielding pistols, and unleash a torrent of bullets in a large area.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Vivienne Phantom.
* NavelDeepNeckline: Her default outfit is a catsuit with the zipper undone to her stomach and a leather biker jacket.

Mika met Mondo in passing, and found herself living with him as his assistant due to her extensive culinary skills (meaning, she's good at preparing soft-boiled eggs just the way Mondo likes them). She's not actually part of the Firm, but Mondo brings her on missions anyway.

Her eccentric words and "fangirlish" behavior often lighten the mood during otherwise intense assignments.

%%* CurtainsMatchTheWindow
%%* TheDitz
* CPRCleanPrettyReliable: Responsible for reviving Mondo with the game equivalent of 1-Ups, she'll arrive in the nick of time to [[HowDareYouDieOnMe literally beat him back to life]].
* GenkiGirl: They don't get much Genki-er than Mika.
* MoralityPet: The only female character that Mondo seems to actually like as a person instead of sexually. It's because her soft-boiled eggs remind him of his mom.
* OneUp: Using the "Mika Ticket" summons her to Mondo's side, and she will revive him.
* PluckyComicRelief: At first, anyway. In the endgame, her serious role becomes apparent.
* ShoutOut: A schoolgirl named Mika in a Suda-themed game? Probably based off of the protagonist of ''Twilight Syndrome''.

Damon has some connection with Bryan’s Executioner Office.

Having begun his transformation into an enhanced being known as a “Wire,” Damon’s humanity has started to disappear, leaving him with cold, crazy eyes.
----
* TheAce: Apparently he completed every Executioner mission perfectly before he had to be put down.
* BodyHorror: TaintedVeins aside, after being sliced up by Mondo, he still tries to enjoy one glass of wine with Bryan before he dies but it sprays out of his gaping neck wound while he groans in pain.
* TheCorruptible: He was a good, reliable agent for the Executioners but unfortunately he was enchanted by the "beauty" of The Darkness.
* EtTuBrute: His sedition aside, he's pretty shocked that Bryan ordered his execution considering that he accomplished every assassination assigned to him.
* GracefulLoser: He takes being replaced and subsequently hacked to death remarkably well.
* KlingonPromotion: To get into the Executioner Office, Mondo has to kill him.
* TaintedVeins: No doubt caused by his waning humanity and oncoming transformation into a "Wire".
* WouldHitAGirl: Doesn't have any issues slapping Mika and calling her a bitch for spilling wine on his suit.
* ZeroEffortBoss: Has an actual boss health bar unlike Tokio but he doesn't put up any resistance as Mondo hacks him apart with his katana.

Having heard tell of a musician named Jubilee, whose talents could supposedly control human emotions through song, Victor knew he had to possess this ability for himself. And so he stole the poor musician’s talent – the very life essence that enabled these miraculous sounds to be played – and began using them to produce warped, distorted melodies of malice, with the ultimate goal of creating dark matter and purifying the world in a mass baptism of evil.
