--> The ruler of ancient Babylon 2500 years ago. Regarded as a strong and wise leader by his subjects, he was the one who freed Aganos from his life of violence, as well as cursing Spinal and Kan-Ra in retribution for their attempted betrayal. His last wish before his passing was for Aganos to kill Kan-Ra, a goal Aganos still pursues to this day.
----
* GoodIsNotSoft: Despite his reputation as TheGoodKing, he was merciless towards Spinal and Kan-Ra when their crimes were made public. In the case of the former, he placed the Mask of the Ancients on Spinal, forcing him to become his servant while trapped in his own head, and eventually used the mask to force Spinal to burn himself alive. In the case of the latter, he placed a curse on Kan-Ra to force him to rot eternally, and later sent Aganos after him.
* TheGoodKing: As mentioned under UniversallyBelovedLeader, he was considered a wise and just King, and showed this by punishing Spinal and Kan-Ra for their betrayal as well as giving Aganos the capacity to learn and decide for himself what he wants, something that Aganos still honors to this day through his hunt for Kan-Ra.
* PosthumousCharacter: Only appears in various character backstories, passing thousands of years before the games begin.
* UniversallyBelovedLeader: Was very well regarded during his own time, and really only Kan-Ra and Spinal would have anything bad to say about him (considering he condemned one to an eternally rotting body and the other to a life of undeath by being bound to a sacred mask).

--> A monastery based in the mountains of Tibet that venerated an ancient Tiger Spirit who bestowed great power on its worshipers. Jago was originally a member of this cult before it was revealed that . In the chaos following this revelation, most of the monks were slaughtered by .
----
* DemonicPossession: What happened to those "granted powers" by the Tiger Spirit.
* PathOfInspiration: .
* PlaceOfPower: Formerly resided in the Tiger's Lair. Jago moves back in after forcibly evicting .

--> The original founder and CEO of Ultratech from 1948 until his death. An industrialist and philanthropist, Adams created many innovations, including ARIA, with the goal of ridding the world of disease, poverty, and war. Even long after his passing, Ultratech continues working to carry out his will.
----
* AlwaysSaveTheGirl: Much of his research, including ARIA, was motivated by the desire to cure his wife's degenerative disease.
* AntiVillain: Probably even moreso than ARIA.
* TheAtoner: He's founded Ultrafine Atomic Technologies Company to help humanity deal with world problems, trying to atone for his actions during World War II.
* GreaterScopeVillain: He was the original founder of Ultratech after all.
* MyGreatestFailure: In his memoir he describes creating ARIA as one. He feared that he had “birthed a monster” but he was torn by her potential, and later by the fact that she had saved his beloved company from financial ruin, allowing him to pursue his foundation’s philanthropic work. But most of all he wrote about his regret for trying to save his wife and cheat death by creating her.
* PosthumousCharacter: Died before the start of the games.
* SmartPeoplePlayChess: He used to play with ARIA during her first days, but later swore off to do that again because she started beating him every time. During their last game ARIA allowed Ryat to win, but he noticed that.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He may have founded Ultratech and watched over many of their morally questionable decisions, but in the end his goals were noble, and unlike ARIA he likely didn't think that the solution to humanity's problems was to remove people's humanity entirely.
