!Raiden "Ray" Pierce-Okamoto
-->Voiced by: Scott Wolf

->''"I know Grandpa, 'Bob and Weave' -- a moving target is harder to hit."''
[[quoteright:156:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ray_Pierce-Okamoto_2154.jpg]]

The main hero of our story, Ray's a good-natured kid and a talented sketch artist, if a bit of a daydreamer. This nature doesn't lead to him making many 'normal' friends, but does make him subject for bullying. Once a string of fateful events leads to him discovering the art and world of Kaijudo, it's not long before all his latent potential starts unveiling itself.

* TheAce: As the names of the first three episodes imply, Ray turns out to be a natural for Kaijudo. He himself feels like he belongs with the art. Not only does he catch on to the ways of said art, like quickly picking up perfect gateway summoning stances and perfect creature control, he also summons Tatsurion the Unchained, a powerful hybrid creature, after only a two second glance at his tablet. Certain creatures seem to take a shining to him as well. It turns out [[spoiler:his mom's a former Kaijudo practitioner, his father was Suguru a.k.a. Ken Okamoto, and he was born in the Creature Realm.]]
* AchievementsInIgnorance: Being a talented sketch artist for his age, he managed to draw a "tablet" depicting a Rumbling Terrasuar perfectly, even though he'd never seen one before. [[spoiler:Though we later learn he ''had'' seen one before when he was a baby in the Creature Realm with his parents; he even bonded with it.]] In a pinch with the bullies, he even correctly "made up" the creature's name, summoning it and scaring the bullies (and him and his friends) away.
* {{Badass}}
* AnimeHair: Toned down. He has a normal haircut, but part of his hair is red while the other is black.
* TheBeastMaster: [[spoiler:Being born in the creature realm allows him to tame creatures far easier than others]].
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He is a nice, gentle kid, but he can be quite mischievous and aggressive when driven mad. Best examples being Carny or [[spoiler:with Saguru's betrayal]].
* BrownEyes
* GuileHero: Displays shades of it. He actually succeeds in [[OutGambit out gambitting]] ''[[MagnificentBastard The Choten]]'' at some point.
* MixedAncestry: Ray is half-Japanese and half American. [[spoiler:And having been born in the Creature Realm no less.]]
* HeroProtagonist
* HotBlooded: Ray is usually pretty calm and level-headed, except in a fight where his hotblooded tendencies begin to crop up.
* TheHero
* TheProtagonist
* IndyPloy: All the time.
* TheKirk
* [[spoiler:MidseasonUpgrade: His gauntlet gets upgraded by the Fire Civilization Monarch in ''The Siphon'']]
* [[spoiler:MoralityPet: He sort of becomes one to Alakshmi in season 2 after saving her from the Fire Civilisation.]]
* MulticoloredHair: Probably to reflect his shonen hero-like status, his bangs are red at their ends. According to a picture, his dad doesn't have them, so Ray's are probably dyed.
* NiceGuy: Definitely a stand up guy; his mom notes that he can't bare to see injustice stand, just like his father. Still, best not to prod him ''too'' much.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: [[spoiler:Thanks to his single-minded thought process in "Bargain" he winds up handing over the Spell of Liquid Compulsion to The Choten.]]

!!Tatsurion the Unchained / Bob
-->Voiced by: Creator/DavidSobolov

->''"''You ''may call me Bob."''
[[quoteright:324:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Tatsurion-Bob_7943.jpg]]

Tatsurion, a half Nature Civilization Beast-Kin and half Fire Civilization Dragon hybrid creature, has lived a tough life which has made him into the strong and cynical warrior he is today. When first summoned by Ray, he is understandably upset with the whole affair, but it's not long before Ray's straightforward and earnest personality gets through his tough "outer shell", revealing a pretty stand up guy underneath. He and Ray turn out to have more in common then you'd think.

Tatsurion got the nickname 'Bob' from 'Bob and Weave' when Ray tried to stress to him to dodge more often, and it just kinda stuck.

* {{Badass}}: If there was one thing his father taught him, it was how to be badass.
* BadassBaritone
* BerserkButton: He doesn't react well to parents, especially fathers, mistreating their sons.
* TheBigGuy: And surprisingly, rather {{gentle|Giant}} too, once you get by the gruff exterior.
* [[spoiler:BrainwashedAndCrazy: Inflicted to him through evolution serum and a control collar by The Choten. He gets better, thanks to Ray.]]
* [[spoiler:BreathWeapon: Gains the ability to breathe fire after getting hit with The Choten's evolution serum.]]
* ChainPain: Why do you think he calls himself the ''Unchained''? [[spoiler:Because he was once chained as a criminal and has since escaped with the chains still on him.]]
* TheComicallySerious: He laughs exactly ''once''.
* DeadpanSnarker: He certainly has his moments.
* DefrostingIceKing: Ironically.
* EmbarrassingNickname: Bare Bottom, his name among his mother's family. He initially also disliked being called Bob, but he ends up enjoying it.
* FierySalamander
* {{Flight}}: Gains some spiffy new Dragon Wings, to go with his new fire breath.
* IAmNotMyFather
* InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons: Well, [[HalfBreed half-dragon]].
* HalfBreed: Part Dragon (from the Fire Civilization) and part Quillspike (from the Nature Civilization).
* HotBlooded
* JerkassFacade[=/=]HiddenHeartOfGold: At a first glance, he appears aggressive, seemingly always angry. Yet, he is actually ''much'' nicer than he lets on.
* MoreDakka: He has various firearms hidden on him. He usually rather use them as a last resort however.
* ParentalNeglect: On the dragon side of his family, due to his half-breed status. His father pretty much ignored his existence.
* PlayingWithFire: Initially he could only ignite his head for flame charged tackles. Now he has full blown fire breath.
* [[PricklyPorcupine Prickly Quillspike]]: Though embarrassingly less so than his half-brothers Razorhide and Prickleback.
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: Averted; he is part reptilian, but he is very much a good guy.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Noted by his mother, Headstrong Wanderer, when she remarks that his wings makes him look just like his father, Napalmeon the Conquering. He replies that [[IAmNotMyFather he is not his father]].
* {{Tsundere}}: Non-romantic example toward Ray and the Quillspike side of his family.
* WellDoneSonGuy: This is something he has in common with Carny no less.
* WhipItGood: Uses his chains as a whip and a means to restrain his opponents.

!Gabriel "Gabe" Wallace
-->Voiced by: Creator/PhilLaMarr

->''"Actually, argiope trifasciata isn't harmful to most people and incidentally, without spiders, insects would overrun the world, but you wouldn't know that, [[SesquipedalianLoquaciousness ignoramus maximus]]. ...[[DidIJustSayThatOutLoud Did I just say that out loud?]]"''
[[quoteright:213:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Gabe_Wallace_5093.jpg]]

A very intelligent, analytical, and logical young man and one of Ray's friends. He met Ray at a gamer's convention where he beat him in a tournament of some sort and they became fast friends. Similar to Ray, his overall personality doesn't allow him to make friends easily, though this doesn't really concern him much being a self-proclaimed nerd and all. He discovers Kaijudo alongside Ray and Allie. Said discovery may lead to him thinking about things that he never would have concerned himself with, thus changing his overall outlook.

* BatmanGambit: Rather good at these.
* BlackAndNerdy: Self-proclaimed nerd at that.
* BlackBestfriend: To Ray and Allie.
* CannotTalkToWomen: He turns into a nervous mess when needing to associate with girls his age other than Allie.
* CowardlyLion: Most noticeable when his friends, brothers, or Sasha are in danger.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The above quote Gabe utters in the first episode says quite a bit about his character.
* FatBestFriend: The shy variety.
* [[spoiler:HeroicBSOD: His reaction when finding out Sasha was apparently dead from losing the Heart of Light.]]
* InterspeciesRomance: He has a strong crush on Sasha.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: To Sasha. When she goes berserk, just thinking about him can calm her down.
* MotorMouth: Has a tendency to ramble at times and also stutters too when he's nervous.
* NiceHat
* OnlySaneMan: He's this in spades.
* ScienceHero
* TheSmartGuy: Takes pride in using his brain to get by in life.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Often to Allie's frustration.
* TheSpock: Definitely the logic man of the group, or at least he tries to be. Sometimes the logical route isn't the best route.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Allie.

!!Reef Prince Glu-urrgle / Gargle
-->Voiced by: Creator/DeeBradleyBaker

->''"Hey! What up G-abriel?"''
[[quoteright:192:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Reef_Prince_Gargle_886.jpg]]

A Water Civilization creature and heir to the Water Capital throne (but so far displaced that it doesn't really matter). When the Masters assigns the group water creatures, Master Nadia summons the Reef Prince for Gabe. They didn't get along at all at first until Gabe opened up to him and began listening to Gargle's advice. After which, they became pretty close, with Gabe summoning him anytime the gang needs something invented to help with their current situation.

He gained the nickname 'Gargle' from Allie who said he looks like a spit cup at the dentist. Tellingly, he's not particularly fond of her.

* BadassBookworm
* [[ClingyJealousGirl Clingy Jealous Guy]]: Show shades of this in ''Heavenly Creatures'' when Gabe summons him for the first time in a while.
-->'''Gargle:''' Humph! Call Gargle for tech support. Call Angel Command for chat mode!
* CloudCuckoolander: His super-inquisitive nature makes him come off as this. His use of internet slang further adds to this.
* CuriousAsAMonkey
* TheExile: Becomes this in "The King's Speech" after a Choten-controlled King Tritonus banishes him from the Water Civilization.
* GadgeteerGenius: Glu-urrgle isn't exactly impressive as a fighter, but he has the ability to create any kind of machine, weaponry, or vehicle from any scrap that is around. In a few ''seconds''.
* LeetLingo: Since he learned English from the internet via Gabe's smart phone, he oftentimes talks like this.
* MakingASplash
* [[spoiler:MesACrowd: The Evolution Spell splits him into five [[FunSize mini-versions of himself]]]].
* MyFriendsAndZoidberg: Doesn't really consider Allie a friend.
-->'''Gargle:''' Gargle has airsuits for friends. Friend G-abriel. Friend Ray. Friend Squeaky. Err...Allie?
* PlayfulHacker
* PsychicPowers
** {{Telepathy}}
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething
-->'''Gargle:''' Gargle is Reef Prince.
* ScienceHero
* WarriorPrince: He is actually part of the Princes of the Water Civilization though, not strictly a fighter.

!!Sasha, Channeler of Light
-->Voiced by: Creator/KariWahlgren

->''"''You'' do not command me. I am a Princess of the Light Civilization."''
[[quoteright:270:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Sasha_Channeler_of_Light_9548.jpg]]

One day, when the gang are studying Darkness creatures, Gabe decides to study up on their anti-thesis -- Light creatures, first and foremost being Angel Command, their ruling class. Later, when in a tough spot, Gabe decides to summon one. The one being Sasha, Channeler of Light. This Light Civilization Princess only came through the portal out of curiosity, and though rather stand-offish, she eventually helps with the problem a hand. She returns later on a mission from the Light Civilization to study the earth and its people, deciding to use Gabe as a chaperone. Under the guise of a foreign exchange student, she learns a few of the nice things in life on Gabe's side of the veil...as well as the not so nice.

* {{Adorkable}}: When posing as a human, due to the FishOutOfWater aspect.
* BadassPrincess
* BerserkButton: Trying to command Light creatures to attack their rulers.
** And, on a more humorous note, paradoxes.
* CannotTellALie: The Light Civilization Creatures are unable to lie, and Sasha isn't an exception to this rule.
* TheChick
* DefrostingIceQueen: As she learns more about humans and their emotions, she becomes more receptive to Gabe and the others.
* [[spoiler:DisneyDeath: When Saguru takes the Heart of Light from Sasha, she ceases to function and is presumed dead. She later comes back to life when the Heart is recovered and Gargle reinserts it into Sasha.]]
* [[spoiler:DoomedHomeTown: The Keep she lived in was destroyed by The Choten's minions after Gabe and the others rescued her.]]
* FishOutOfWater: When she's disguised as a human.
* GlowingEyes
* HolographicDisguise: Can use light to disguise herself as a human.
* InnocentlyInsensitive
* KidsAreCruel[=/=]TeensAreMonsters: During her visit to San Campion High, she was unfortunate enough to experience the darker side of things and almost snaps.
* LargeHam: Not normally, but she can be quite dramatic with her words on occasion.
* LightEmUp
* [[spoiler: MacGuffinGirl: In season 1, she holds the Light Civilization arfifact, the Heart of Light, inside of her as her power source. By season 2, though, she has been provided with a new power source and given back the Heart to Eternal Haven.]]
* NoSocialSkills
* OurAngelsAreDifferent: They're robotic.
* RobotGirl: Whom, predictably or not, Gabe has a crush on.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Was sent out on a mission to earth to learn about it and its people, and when her home is under attack, she proclaims she will stay and defend is to the last, though Gabe talks her out of it in the end.
* TheSixthRanger: The closest you'd get to one to the trio in season one.
* WingedHumanoid: Can extend mechanical wings from her back.
-->'''Gabe:'''(in awe) Of course you have wings.

!Alison "Allie" Underhill
-->Voiced by: KariWahlgren

->''"Earth to Ray. Are you actually zenning out or in shock? Because I'm in SHOCK!"''
[[quoteright:168:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Allie_Underhill_8277.jpg]]

Ray's other friend, the two have known each other since childhood. Since Allie's dad is the manager of a San Campion bank, her family is pretty well off. Despite having all the qualifications of a spoiled [[RichBitch rich girl]] and occasionally slipping into the mindset (including having two [[AlphaBitch mean]] [[ThoseTwoGuys girls]] she sometimes hangs with) she's actually pretty nice and kindhearted, even if she has a bit of dark side [[spoiler:that stems from her mommy issues.]] She has no problem with and is often seen hanging out with Ray and Gabe, though she will often snark at Gabe when he frustrates her. Like Gabe, she starts out "out of her groove", but eventually finds her place, and her affinity for Darkness Creatures, upon finding her main partner Squeaky.

* ActionGirl
* ChildhoodFriend: With Ray.
* CombatPragmatist: As befitting the "way of Darkness," she is very quick to use trickery and stealth to get out of a bind.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Probably exemplifies this the most among Darkness creatures and users.
* DeadpanSnarker: Probably the most snarky of the trio.
* DetachedSleeves
* DistressedDamsel: Briefly, when she was trapped in the Fire Civilization. At least she did try to get away on her own. More than once in fact.
** [[spoiler:BadassInDistress: When captured by Megaria. She ends up being the one saving the ones who came to rescue ''her''.]]
* [[spoiler:DrunkOnTheDarkSide: Under the polluting influence of the Cloak of Dark Illusions.]]
* [[spoiler: EvilCostumeSwitch: During her brief imprisonment under Megaria, the Collector]].
* {{Flanderization}}: Her {{Tsundere}} traits became greatly exaggerated in the second season. As a result, she also begins to argue with Ray, which puts their childhood friendship in danger. Justified since both their families have been living together for some time and Ray keeps wanting to save Alakshmi, who she does ''not'' like.
* [[spoiler: GuileHero: Proves to be a remarkably good one when dealing with Megaria. And later The Choten.]]
* GoodCounterpart: To Alakshmi.
* GreenEyes
* HalfHumanHybrid: [[ImpliedTrope Not-so subtly implied]] in Season 2 Episodes 12 and 13 that [[spoiler: Megaria may not just be playacting the role of her mother after all. It would certainly explain Allie's natural affiliation for the Darkness element, the Cloak of Dark Illusion's attachment towards her, and her mother's mysterious disappearance.]]
* HeIsNotMyBoyfriend: With Ray. It seems she was initially sincere, but they do get some ShipTease later.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: One could say she is in regards to Portia and Maribel. That, or willfully ignorant.
** Ray points that out in "Cease Fire".
* TheLancer: To Ray.
* LivingShadow: While under the Cloak of Dark Illusion's influence in Season 2 her shadow morphs into a fanged, tentacled monstrosity and eats Portia's shadow. It later detaches from her to attack Sykes and Nickles.
* LonelyRichKid: {{Subverted}}, [[spoiler:despite her mommy issues,]] she could use her general popularity to get any friend she'd want, but still sticks with Ray, Gabe, and later Lucy.
* TheMcCoy
* MissingMom: She and Ray each growing up with only one parent is how they became such good friends. Later episodes hint, [[spoiler:then confirm, that Allie's mom Piper ran away. Her dad, Artie, pines for her return and even named his boat after her, taking care of it lovingly.]]
* TheNicknamer: With the exception of Bob and Shaw K'Naw, she is the one nicknaming all the creatures.
* PluckyGirl
* SaveTheVillain: She makes it no secret she thinks this is a terrible idea. She was proven right.
* ShipTease: It was hinted that she likes Ray in ''Into the Void''.
* SlumberParty: Has one in ''Night Moves'' with Portia, Maribel, and Lucy with the hopes the former two can learn to get along with latter. Unfortunately for her, "Sleepovers do not fix all", and the whole thing just goes from [[FromBadToWorse bad to worse]].
* SpoiledSweet: Her father is rich, and she is shown to be friends (or at least have been friends; later episode show they don't get along well anymore) with at least two {{Alpha Bitch}}s. Yet, she is an extremely nice person and friends with both Ray and Gabe, and tries hard to help Sasha's blending-in when she comes to visit the human world.
* TokenGirl: Of the trio. Possibly subverted if you count Sasha later on.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type B. This got taken UpToEleven with Ray in the second season.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Gabe and later, Ray in Season 2.
* [[spoiler:{{Yandere}}: Unconsciously toward Ray when under the effect of the Dark Cloak of Illusion.]]

!!Scaradorable of Gloom Hollow / Squeaky
->''"Squeak."''
[[quoteright:248:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Scaradorable-Squeaky_4052.jpg]]

A rather [[CaptainObvious adorable]] Koala-looking Darkness creature who doesn't show up until halfway into episode 6, ''Into the Fire, Part 1''. She was somehow captured by the Fire Civilization and was being prepared as Lord Skycrusher's meal when a captured Allie happened upon her. They bonded right away, and once rescued, Allie was determined not to leave the newly dubbed Squeaky behind. After the ordeal, Squeaky became Allie's creature partner. She's the only one of the trio's creature partners that can't speak English, instead communicating in squeaks, hence her nickname.

* BadassAdorable
* BodyHorror: When Squeaky turns into her 'other' form, she's actually turning herself inside-out.
* CastingAShadow
* CreepyGood: Definitely a highlight for Allie.
* CuddleBug: Really likes hugging people, especially Allie.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Despite being a Darkness creature with a quite creepy OneWingedAngel form, Squeaky is a very nice creature.
* [[ForgotAboutHisPowers Forgot About Her Powers]]: She hasn't used her GameFace / OneWingedAngel ability for a very large part of season 2.
* GameFace: Along with the rest of her kind, can change from [[http://kaijudo.wikia.com/wiki/Scaradorable_of_Gloom_Hollow this]] to ''[[http://kaijudo.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Scaradorable this.]]''
* MakeMeWannaShout
* MeaningfulName: "Scaradorable" for a typically UglyCute creature.
* [[spoiler:OddballDoppelganger: The Evolution Spell turns her into a partial copy of a nearby creature, giving her their abilities as well.]]
* OneWingedAngel: Her regular form looks like a big cute koala-like creature, but she can suddenly turn into a tall, black, [[Franchise/{{Alien}} Xenomorph]]-like being.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: In her regular form. She also has the ability to mesmerize others in her cuteness as a distraction.
* TeamPet: Is the most 'pet like' of the trio's creature partners.
** PetMonstrosity: In her 'other' form.
* TheWorfEffect: Sadly tends to happen to her quite often. It doesn't help [[ForgotAboutHerPowers Allie seems to have forgotten about her alternate form.]]

[[folder:The Masters]]

!Master Hector Chavez
-->Voiced by: Freddy Rodriguez

->''"Welcome to The Temple of the Kaijudo Duel Masters."''
[[quoteright:157:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Hector_Chavez_351.jpg]]

Hector Chavez, the Fire Civilization's Duel Master, is the first Duel Master Ray, Gabe, and Allie meet. After following Ray and the others to Allie's house to return Ray's sketchbook and question him on the summoned Terrasuar, it isn't long before a looming threat necessitates Chavez to whisk the kids away to the Creature Realm. After a good scare, Chavez decides to bring them into his order.

Out of all the Duel Masters, he is the most reasonable and compassionate of the bunch, alongside Kimora; he even gives Ray one last chance to convince his friends to join and try harder at being an acolyte, and he can often be found arguing on Ray and his friends behalf.

* {{Badass}}
* CharacterDevelopment: Throughout the first season, Ray's positive influence makes a change in Chavez, and in fact all the Duel Masters. Though a more reasonable person then most, he still held the general belief of a Kaijudo practitioner like not touching creature. He softens to these things considerably as time went on. Jaha at one point state that Ray "is a bad influence on you" to Chavez.
* DashingHispanic
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: He is the first character introduced in the show, with a scene where he summons Gigaflame and uses him to defeat a creature. Most importantly, this serves as the scene that introduces the very concept of Kaijudo.
* InTheHood: When we first see him, though he generally doesn't wear it up.
* LatinoIsBrown
* TheLancer: Among the Duel Masters, he is the most likely to challenge and appose Nigel's opinion and has called him out on things more than once. Also, he is a pretty nice guy and close to the kids, in contrast with Nigel's jerkassery.
* TheMentor: To the kids; they all have this role in a way, sure, but he is the first they meet, the first to get close to them, and by far the one who is the most friendly for most of the series.
* MrExposition: In the Pilot.
* [[spoiler:OfficialCouple: With Nadia come season one's end.]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He's the one who saw the potential in Ray, he was the one who listened to Ray when he asked to be given another chance to convince his friends to try harder in joining the order, and he also argued in favor of Ray joining in spite of Nigel and Nadia's doubts, bringing up the possibility that the ''Kaijudo way'' could be in need of change.
* RedOniBlueOni: Red to Nigel's Blue.
* ShipTease: With Master Nadia throughout the first season. Notable because romance between members of the order is against the rules. [[spoiler: Becomes an official couple with her in season one's finale, with Jaha's kinda-sorta backhanded blessing, too.]]

!!Gilaflame the Assaulter
[[quoteright:209:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_gilaflame_the_assaulter_9261_504.jpg]]

* BladeBelowTheShoulder: His trademark weapons.
* FierySalamander
* FragileSpeedster: Gilaflame is fast, but give him one good hit and he's usually down for the count. Mostly noticeable when he's cornered and can't dodge.
* LanguageBarrier: While he and Hector work well together, they cannot communicate, as humans are unable to speak Gilaflame's language and vice versa.
* LizardFolk
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: When evolved.
* PlayingWithFire: Fire appears from his [[BladeBelowTheShoulder blades below his shoulders]] when he trails them across the ground.
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: Averted; he is a lizard-man, but pretty much a good guy.
* TheSpeechless: A trait most of the Duel Masters' creatures share.
** SuddenlyVoiced[=/=]TheUnintelligible: As shows during "The Butterfly Effect" he ''can'' speak. But only Dracon, a language Chavez doesn't know.
-->'''Chavez:''' Until now I didn't even know he ''could'' speak!
* TheStoic: Doesn't really have much reactions outside of battle.
* TrueCompanions: Seems to be his relationship with Hector; despite the rule to never touch or befriend the creatures, both seem to have a strong respect for each otherjudging by the way they bow to each other in the pilot, and he mentions that Gigaflame always answers his call.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Master Chavez. [[spoiler:Proven when he's able to resist Alakshmi's command to kill him long enough to break the collar controlling Mighty Shouter, who is able to save them.]]

!Master Nadia Lobachevsky
-->Voiced by: Music/GreyDeLisle

->''"I am the keeper of the Order's history and knowledge. I wasn't aware we had begun giving tours to children."''
[[quoteright:100:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_nadia_lobachevsky_207_1311.jpg]]

As the Water Civilization Master, Nadia is the logical one. She has a tendency to speak frankly about a situation and so comes off on blunt side. Next to Nigel, she is the most antagonistic to the acolytes and also was opposed to them joining. Even after the kids help them out early on, she only compliments there "promise" after pointing out their lack of "technique and talent". That being said, her logical mind is what leads her to trust and have faith in the kids due to their continued successes.

* BadassLongCoat
* CharacterDevelopment: She goes from being just as skeptical as Nigel about the kids to warming up to them as their methods continue to provide positive results.
** She even seems to.grow out of the idea of touching Creatures being a bad thing, as she can be seen casually petting Rusalka.
* DefrostingIceQueen: In her first appearances, she was rather cold and just doing her duties without any reserves. She does displays concern however when she [[spoiler:comes to save the kids from the Water Civilization]]. After that, she gradually warms up on them.
* HellBentForLeather
* IronicEcho: A slight variation on her early line towards the kids about lacking talent and technique but having promise is echoed by Alakshmi [[spoiler:when she's training Carny.]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: She doesn't start out like this despite being the "Logical Duel Master", but after the kids prove themselves again and again, she eventually grows into this. She even points out to Nigel how the kids' way of befriending creatures has lead them to form strong ties, like with Light Civilization royalty.
* [[TheSmartGuy The Smart Girl]]: Due to the Water Civilization being the one that is the most technology and knowledge oriented, she usually is the one who takes care of those kinds of matters.
* TheSpock
* [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair You Gotta Have Pink Hair]]

!!Aquachaser, Rusalka
[[quoteright:209:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_1aqua_chaser_rusalka_7744_1777.jpg]]

* BadassBeard
** [[GirlsWithMoustaches Girls With Beards]]
* MakingASplash
* MeaningfulName: Named after the sea creature from Slavic mythology.
* PsychicPowers
** {{Telepathy}}: How she communicates with Nadia.
* SeaMonster: A Sea-serpent to be specific.
* TheSpeechless: Instead of talking out loud, Rusalka communicates telepathically. We of course only get the second hand interpretation from whomever Rusalka "talks" to.

! Master Benjirou Kimora
-->Voiced by: Andrew Kishino

->''"Because of you, we learned much to help us, just as I learned -- or finally excepted -- that you were right, Ray. The creatures we duel with are intelligent, feeling beings, valued allies, and yes -- friends."''
[[quoteright:170:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_1benjirou_kimora_3437_4765.jpg]]

Master Kimora, the Nature Civilization Duel Master. is the most down to earth of the bunch. When the Masters were arguing about newcomer Ray, Kimora was the one who pointed out that when Ray showed a willingness to share his creature's (Bob's) fate, it inspired it to let him aboard. H e believes in one of nature's creeds, that what will be will be, and it's not long before he has complete faith in the new acolytes.

* BigFun
* TheBigGuy: Literally.
* CharacterDevelopment: He starts out like the others Duel Masters, treating the creatures anywhere between pets and well-tended tools. Thanks to Mighty Shouter, he eventually comes around to see things from Ray's perspective.
* GreenThumb: In Kimora's part of the temple, he keeps a beautiful garden where he is often seen taking care of the plants and flowers there.
* NatureHero
* NiceGuy
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Becomes this over the course of the series. Specifically, after realizing that Mighty Shouter is a real living being, with his own life and problems, and that summoning him all wily-nily can indeed lead to Shouter developing even more problems, he had an epiphany moment, realizing that Ray's way of treating the creatures an intelligent beings was the right thing to do.

!!Mighty Shouter
-->Voiced by: Scott Wolf

->''"No! Shouter fight beside Kimora no more. Shouter protect tribe now. Others think Shouter's stories of Duels with Kimora are dreams of madness. Make Shouter live over there -- alone."'' (echoing to tribesmen) ''"SHOUTER'S STORIES TRUE!"''
[[quoteright:245:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_1mighty_shouter_7664_7469.jpg]]

* TheBigGuy
* CarryABigStick
* CloudCuckoolander: He ''isn't'' one, but as mentioned in his quote, he used to be seen as one by other Nature Creatures, who believed him insane due to his stories about Duels and humans. After he proved he was right, though, they get a newfound respect for him and name him their shaman.
* {{Expy}}: Big, green, and has a [[HulkSpeak limited vocabulary]]. Odds are that SelfDemonstrating/TheIncredibleHulk will come to mind.
* GentleGiant: The biggest and most imposing creature amongst the ones used by the Masters; also one of the nicest amongst them.
* GreenThumb
* HandicappedBadass: He lost part his Tusks (which are the part of him that hold his mana), meaning he is severly weaker; he ''still'' manages to fight pretty well when duel alongside Kimora. [[spoiler:He gets cured by Ray eventually.]]
* HulkSpeak
* MakeMeWannaShout
* MightyGlacier
* TheSpeechless: {{Averted}}. Notably the only one of the Duel Masters primary creatures to ever speak. Even Kimora didn't know he could. Shouter tells Kimora he only chooses to speak when on his own world. This is one of the primary reasons that causes Kimora to begin seeing things from Ray's point of view.
* WarElephants: Sort of; he is a giant anthropomorphic green elephant, after all.

-->Voiced by: Creator/DeeBradleyBaker

->''"Those who use Darkness must operate in unexpected ways."''
[[quoteright:157:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Jaha_8801.jpg]]

Darkness Civilization Master Jaha is a lot of things, above all, secretive. Though she and Master Nigel have a number of things in common, like their habit of keeping on top of things via spying and their fondness for the rules, in the end, she is the neutral Master; realizing that the old ways have served their Order well, but also that you'll never know what lies beyond the darkness of uncertainty unless you explore it. To that end, despite her fondness for Nigel, she's not quite in his camp, [[spoiler:as the season finale shows clearly.]]

Despite her wrinkled and frail appearance, she is quite able and agile when she needs to be. There are hints that she was quite the infamous individual in the Darkness realm in the past.

* BigGood: Being the oldest of the current Dual Masters, she is usually the one in charge of things, and even the other ones tend to answer to her decisions. This pretty much solidifies after Brightmore betrays them.
* CastingAShadow
* CombatPragmatism: See her quote.
* CrossdressingVoices

* [[spoiler:IWasQuiteALooker: When her youth is restored in the season 2 finale; she isn't exactly the most beautiful character in the show, but [[http://static3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131229182734/kaijudo/images/c/cc/Young_Master_Jaha.png the change still is quite impressive]].]]
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: She has no qualms about using her size to get free rides from Kimora or Gabe.
* NeverMessWithGranny: Her stick actually is [[spoiler:the arm of Megaria's brother; she apparently killed him by herself.]] Also, [[spoiler:in the season 2 finale, she is reduced even more of an aged dusk by Megaria, and ''still'' manages to banish the Darkness Lord back to the Darkness Civlization.]]
* ProperlyParanoid: Sort of; according to the pilot, she has the habit to always spy and observe everyone from the dark. Proves to be a good thing when [[spoiler:she surprises [[TheMole Master Brightmore,]] getting the call to help from their acolytes and forces him to call the other Masters before he can hide the message.]]
* [[spoiler:SkeletonsInTheCoatCloset: In her younger form.]]
* ToBeLawfulOrGood: Different from Brightmore, as while she does believe in following the rules for the most part, she will bend them if she has to. [[spoiler: She'll also accept new ways of dueling for others even if she prefers and sticks to the old ways]].
* [[spoiler:YoungerThanTheyLook: It's implied in the season 2 finale she actually isn't ''that'' old, but was aged by a curse from Megaria, forcing her to use her stick as a mana source to retain her normal physical abilities. When the curse is lifted, her youth is restored.

Rays stick-in-the-mud great uncle from Japan. A duelist specializing in Light Creatures. Eventually brought in as Nigel's replacement as Light Master.

* ArchEnemy: He has a personal grudge and rivalry against Master Brightmore. He also has quite a bit of animosity toward him though this seems to be mutual.
* BadassGrandpa: Around the same age than Ray's grandfather, and a skilled Kaijudo Master.
* ControlFreak
* CrazyPrepared: Not only did he specialize in using Light Creatures, he also practiced how to use their ''weakness''.
** PlayedForLaughs when he comes to Ray's family reunion with umbrellas as gifts, even though it never rains in San Campion. A few minutes later, the Butterfly Effect causes geisers to erupt next to the house... giving him the opportunity to use said umbrellas.
--->'''Isao''': Umbrellas; ''very'' handy.
* GrumpyOldMan: In contrast to his brother, Grandpa Raiden. Jaha even refers to him as a "Stubborn old goat".
* {{Jerkass}}: When first introduced, he is openly hostile toward Ray, constantly calling him rude or a savage for not respecting all the traditional rules and ethics in a Japanese home.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: It later turns out he isn't as bad as he appears on the first look; after moving to San Campion, he genuinely tries to improve the relationships between his family.
* LightEmUp
* [[spoiler:TheMentor: Used to be this to Ken; he was the one who introduced him to Kaijudo in the first place.]]
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: He is in many ways similar to Master Brightmore, albeit nicer once they learn more about him, and not as extreme. Even their looks and creatures have similarities.

![[spoiler:August]] "The Choten"
-->Voiced by: Oded Fehr

->''"You need to see these monsters for what they are -- batteries."''
[[quoteright:238:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_1choten4_large_9672.jpg]]

The primary villain of the show, The Choten was once a Duel Master until he defected their ranks because he felt their rules and way of going about things were to restrictive and archaic. To show this, he took some loyal acolytes, stole away to secret hideout, created new Tech Gauntlets as a more direct and efficient means to summon and control creatures, and began experimenting on creatures in order to use them as a viable energy resource and also to make them stronger. He even managed to obtain a financial backer help pay for all this.

A sinisterly pragmatic man with values similar to, and yet different from, the other Masters, he and Ray end up developing into each others anti-thesis. Where as Ray only wants to work with and befriend the creatures, The Choten only wishes to see and use them as tools and resources in the utmost sense of the two words. And of course, with an end game goal in mind [[WorldDomination to take over the world -- both of them]].

For an, as of yet, unexplained reason, the Duel Masters and his minions only ever refer to him as "The Choten", including The Choten himself.

* [[spoiler:AllYourPowersCombined: "The Rising" finale has him combines all the artifacts into one, thus getting the power to control all creatures of the five Civilizations]].
* {{Badass}}
** BadassInANiceSuit
* BadBoss: Played with; it seems he actually punishes his minions proportionally to how much it's their fault and how much damage their failures cause: Alakshmi, who failed several times but caused no major defeat that he couldn't turn into an advantage, got away with only gradually losing his confidence until she proved her value again, [[spoiler:Saguru, who caused him to lose the Shield of Unity which dropped into the Darkness Civilization, merely got part of his stored memory destroyed, and Fingers, who caused him to durably lose a unique and powerful evolved creature, ended up sent to the Darkness Realm.]]
* BeardOfEvil: Inverted; he had a goatee when he was [[spoiler: a Duel Master]], but is clean shaven as a villain.
* BeneathTheMask: When first introduced, he is portrayed as a rather AffablyEvil character who reacts calmly to failures, forgives Alakshmi's errors easily (often because he has a XanatosGambit in mind to ensure he will end up winning something anyway) and generally stays almost phlegmatic, to the point you might be surprised to hear he is the villain. As the story goes on, he gradually starts displaying more and more sadistic and NotSoStoic moments, [[KickTheDog Kicking the Dog]] more often and acting more irritated, slowly revealing [[BadBoss his true nature]].
** He is also portrayed at first as being friendly to Nigel and viewing him as a friend, [[spoiler: but with the reveal of Teira being alive he speaks several times with spite towards Nigel about the event, suggesting his friendliness is just a act.]]
* BigBad
* BlondesAreEvil
* TheChessmaster
* CrazyPrepared
* DiabolicalMastermind
* ExactWords: [[spoiler:His mutation antidote cures mutated ''Creatures''. He never said anything about Human-Creature hybrids.]]
* FallenHero: He was Master Nadia's teacher and the original Water Civilization Master.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Polite, well-mannered, well-dressed, reasonably handsome... and a [[{{Jerkass}} complete asshole]].
* HeadsIWinTailsYouLose
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: His own scheme caused a [[TapOnTheHead rock to fall knocking him out cold]].
** Also, in ''Bargain'', he provides Ray with the tablet to summon Aqua Sceneschal so he can contact him for their deal. [[spoiler:In ''Siege'', Ray use the knownledge to summon Sceneschal and force him to help infiltrate his ship.]]
** LaserGuidedKarma: Considering all the JerkAss things he does, this was definitely deserved.
* {{Jerkass}}
* LackOfEmpathy: Especially towards the creatures, whom he dispassionately refers to as "monsters" who's only uses are as a renewable source of energy (their recharging Mana) and warfare.
* MadScientist: On the creatures of course. His experiments on them are what introduce the concept of "Creature Evolution" to the show.
* MakingASplash: He used to be the Master of the Water Civilization before Master Nadia, and as a result, specializes in Water Civilization creatures. [[spoiler:Also, the Helm of Ultimate Technology is the last Artifact he keeps at the end of season 1]].
* ManipulativeBastard: [[spoiler:Poor Ken...]]
* NoNameGiven[=/=]EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: So far, we are only ever referred to him by "The Choten".
** Until "The San Campion Triangle" when Suguru calls him [[spoiler:August.]]
* NotSoDifferent: Claims so about the Duel Masters, since much like him, they treat the creatures as tools.
* PsychoticSmirk: He rarely displays any really mean expressions, but does fit this trope quite well when [[spoiler:sending Fingers to the Darkness Realm.]]
* SoftSpokenSadist: Big time. He will keep talking to people like friends even while he is torturing them psychologically and/or physically.
* TheNicknamer: The Choten has a shade of this as he refers to Ken Okamoto as "Kenny" and usually addresses Nigel as "Nigel, Old Bean". In Nigel's case this also doubles as an AffectionateNickname.
* TheStoic
** NotSoStoic: He has a few moments; when Ray destroys his Kaijudo portal, when Suguru betrays him, and [[spoiler:when Allie (Disguised as Alakshmi) commands Infernus to attack him.]]
*** He also seems scared the crap out of himself when [[spoiler:Alakshmi has him at her mercy in ''Unmasked'']].
* TheStrategist: Evil version.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans[=/=]WellIntentionedExtremist: In his mind, he's just doing the world a favor. Since the Veil is weak and could come undone at any time, he decides to [[spoiler:use the Creature Monarchs]] to tear it done right away, and afterwords, rule over the new world order as supreme king. ...Well, he's not COMPLETELY self-serving.
* VillainousBreakdown: Despite being usually calm, almost phlegmatic, he starts losing his self-control when [[spoiler: he fails to get the Heart of Light and gets betrayed by Saguru.]]
** He has a short one when [[spoiler: Allie, disguised as Alakshmi, orders Infernus to attack him]].
* VillainTakesAnInterest: Shortly, in Ray. He gave up on it as soon as Ray refused.
* WhereDoesHeGetAllThoseWonderfulToys: From Alex, the Mayor of San Campion [[spoiler: a.k.a. Carny's father]], who secretly supports The Choten's efforts financially.
* WorldDomination: Two of them; he intends to control both the Human World and the Creature's World.
--->"Today, the Light Civilization, tomorrow, the World... both of them."
* WouldHurtAChild: Would be entirely willing to murder children if it gets him what he wants. This is the point when Saguru decides he is going too far.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Averted with Alakshmi; she fails several times, but rather than get rid of her, he only loses faith in her.
** [[spoiler: Played straight with Fingers, who he sends to the Darkness Realm after his errors caused a powerful evolved creature to be lost.]]
** [[spoiler: Eventually played straight toward Alakshmi as well in ''The Rising''.]]
** An even crueler version when he [[spoiler:has Sceneschal eaten by his creature for having been used by Ray to infiltrate his ship.]]
* [[spoiler:YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: While he does keep his promise to Saguru that he would give him his memory back, he immediately has him imprisoned after that, leaving him to the same fate as the creatures.]]

The Choten's primary creature. Intelligent, he willingly serves as his most dutiful underling, building, maintaining, and operating the most sophisticated equipment in The Choten's repertoire.

* BattleButler
* CoDragons: With Alakshmi, at least until her defection. Saguru was this as well until his memory were restored. In season 2 Nigel appears to now be this.
* CyberCyclops: Sort of; he is part bionic and part water.
* EvilCounterpart: To Glargle.
* EvilGenius: He rarely fights, usually sticking to Butler roles, explaining how creature-related artifacts work and helping The Choten with technology. In fact, whenever he does fight, he proves to be rather ineffective.
* SquishyWizard: He is extremely intelligent, possess advanced knowledge on Artifacts and other materials, and can do fairly well in a fight, but his resilience seems rather limited; [[spoiler:it took a single hit from Tatsurion to take him down in "The Rising"]].
* MakingASplash
* MrExposition: Plays this role on The Choten's side.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: Transforms his arms into weapons to fight.

!Nigel Brightmore
-->Voiced by: JohnDiMaggio

->''"Kaijudo maybe your extracurricular activity but it happens to be '''my''' life."''
->''"I compromised my values because I thought the Choten would restore our order, not attempt to make the most vile power grab in history."''
[[quoteright:157:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Nigel_Brightmore_222.jpg]]

The former Light Civilization Duel Master and former head of San Campion branch of The Order of the Kaijudo Duel Masters, Nigel is a traditionalist at heart. Like the Light Civilization creatures he is an expert on, he prefers structure, order, and tradition. He sticks by the Order's rules, and sees to it that the others stick by them as well. So you can imagine the kinds of conniptions Ray's mere presence gives to this stalwart old bean. Although he does listen to the words of the other Masters, especially Jaha, it never seems to be enough to sway him completely, [[spoiler:as shown during the last handful of season 1 episodes when he switches sides to The Choten under the pretense of having some form of control when the Veil falls. That's what it boils down to for Nigel, control or be controlled. However at the end of season 2 Nigel defects from the Choten's side as he is unwilling to help or allow the Choten to enslave humanity. Nigel was unaware that the Choten wanted to take control of the human world along the Kaiju realm due to the fact that the Choten was deceiving him the entire time.]]

* AntiVillain: Not as bad as The Choten, but he isn't a good guy either.
* [[spoiler:Badass: He summoned two creatures and simultaneously dueled against Ray and Allie who as we know aren't push overs, not to mention he evolved both creatures into even more powerful forms using a spell.]]
* ArchEnemy: Isao seems to be this to Nigel given the animosity and a rivalry between them, especially now that Isao took over his position.
* BritishAccent: Nigel is voiced with a British accent.
* ControlFreak: Nigel definitely has shades of this with all those Stalker Spheres he employs. In fact, [[spoiler:Jaha comments on how the rigid structure and order of the Light Civilization ultimately consumes Nigel after he joins The Choten.]]
* DisapprovingLook: Nigel gives The Choten one at the end of "Unmasked" and again at the end of "Dueling Partners". He also expressed his disapproval at poaching Rumbling Terrasaur horns. [[spoiler: He doesn't seem to be agreeing with the The Choten lately]].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: When The Choten [[spoiler:tests the Spell of Liquid Compulsion on Suguru, even he(And Tiera) are appalled at how he is treating their former friend.]]
** [[spoiler:In ''The Evolution Will Not Be Televised'', he is disgusted when the Choten reveals his plan to take over Earth with evolved creatures, and promptly turns against him.]]
* EvilCounterpart: He used to be this to Isao, however [[spoiler: now that Nigel has defected from he villains side he can no longer be classified as such.]]
* [[spoiler:FaceHeelTurn: His belief that the Duel Masters have been "corrupted" leads him to joining The Choten out of delusion.]]
** Justified: Nigel is actually not in delusion and in a sense the masters were "corrupted" seeing as how Kaijudo has been changed reparably by the kids and the other masters did in fact adopt their way except for Jaha, who simply accepts it but prefers the old ways, which is technically a perversion of what Kaijudo is and what it stands for.
* [[spoiler:FallenHero]]
* FreudianExcuse: Became a villain because his way of life was corrupted irreparable.
* GoodIsNotNice: While definitely not evil, he is probably the least sympathetic of the Masters. [[spoiler:His Heel Face Turn exemplifies this.]]
* HeelRealization: Nigel had a shade of this at the end of "Caught in The Spotlight".
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Starts out on the Masters side. Then defects to the Choten. Then defects from ''him'' when he realizes he's a nutcase.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler: Nigel defects from the Choten's side upon realizing the Choten's real intentions which he kept Nigel in the dark about.]]
* HeroAntagonist: before he defected.
* TheLastStraw: Sasha losing it at the San Campion High school dance [[spoiler:is the last straw before Nigel defects.]]
* NominalHero: He's not intentionally evil and really only wants to protect humanity.
** CompletelyMissingThePoint: But fails to understand that the Choten seeks to ''enslave'' humanity and has no problem killing everyone who defies his will, but seems to be getting the idea in recent episodes and is not happy with it. It is possible that the Choten may have been lying to Nigel throughout to make it seem like world domination wasn't his intention; this is hinted just before [[spoiler: Nigel and Tierra duel.]]
* PetTheDog: Jaha sitting and comforting Nigel after he is run over by Heller. Especially when she puts her hand on his and then smiles at him; you can tell by his expression that it meant a lot to him.
** Chavez thanking Nigel for saving them. Nigel then telling Chavez that while he doesn't show it he really does care.
* IgnoredConfession: Nigel has repeatedly stated why he betrayed the Duel Masters but no one ever seems to consider it, except Jaha.
* InSeriesNickname[=/=]AffectionateNickname: "Old Bean" used only by The Choten. This can be considered affectionate due to the fact that this British term is most often used an affectionate address by a friend. [[spoiler: However given the animosity that The Choten showed toward Nigel in "Unmasked" this maybe only an act, especially since The Choten is a psychopath]]
* [[spoiler:InTheBack: Master Jaha knocks him out when his back is turned in The Rising part 2. Also by Saguru in Duel Hard.]]
* ItsAllMyFault: Nigel has blamed himself for last twenty years for what happened to Tierra, [[spoiler: though she states that it was her own fault and not his. The Choten on the other hand disagrees and blamed Nigel fully for what happened.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: Big time. Sometimes, it really feels like he thinks it's his responsibility to criticize and complain about the kids.
** JerkassHasAPoint: Justified, however, when you realize that this behavior mostly only occurs when Ray and his friends are touching the creatures, or when they have traveled to the creature realm which is also forbidden; both of these things are something of which Nigel greatly disapproves of, obviously. Their constant disobeying and rule breaking is also a reason for Nigel's harsh attitude; this was a constant battle with the kids, especially seeing as how he himself lives for rules and order.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: For all his jerkassery toward the kids, he does mean well. He also has shown to care a lot about the other duelists as he only ever touched a creature in order to save them and he even states that while he doesn't' show it he does care. [[spoiler: At least, until he joins The Choten, but even then he did try to get the others to join as well as The Choten had seemed to be winning, indicating some level of care was still there]].
** [[spoiler: In season 2 Nigel showed great care and concern for Ken when the Choten took control of him also stating that he was their former colleague and friend. He was also worried when Ken was sent flying by Ray's mana shield due to possibly being injured. He was also appalled when the Choten began to attack San Campion with his evo-creature army thus his defection.]]
* KnightTemplar: Nigel has a shade of this.
* LightIsNotGood: He pretty much embodies the worst of the light, especially after his betrayal.
* MyGreatestFailure: [[spoiler: The supposed death of the former Fire Master, Teira.]]

* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Chavez's red.
* ToBeLawfulOrGood: Of all the Masters, he is the one who has the hardest time accepting the kids' interactions with creatures and would rather just follow the traditional policy of never touching the creatures. [[spoiler:Sadly, he chooses to be lawful and join The Choten.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He genuinely believes the Choten intends to bring order to both the Veil and the Human world by using drastic methods. [[spoiler:When he finds out about the Choten's real plan, he immediatly defects again and tries to foil it.]]

Heller was nothing more than a two-bit thief and con artist. Then he stole a Tech Gauntlet and somehow used it to summon Shaw K'Naw. He then went on a crime spree throughout San Campion, and instead of getting while the getting was good, he robs a museum and is subsequently defeated by the acolytes and, after Ray takes his Gauntlet, is later thrown in jail. There, he meets The Choten, who admonishes him for pettiness before offering him a job.

From then on, he becomes one of The Choten's underlings, used primarily as the muscle because of his uncanny creature control abilities. It's arguable whether he or Fingers gets the least respect at any given time.

* AchievementsInIgnorance: He had zero clues about Kaijudo when he stole the Tech Gauntlet, and even managed to summon Shaw K'Naw. It's why The Choten offers him a job.
** He gets another in "Extracurricular Activities" when he begins to commit crimes using the tip of a Rumbling Terrasaur's horn to cut through the veil for quick entrances and escapes. The Choten admits to being shocked that Heller came up with the idea.
* BadBoss: The way he treated Shaw K'Naw…wasn't very pleasant. To the point that when finally freed, the creature was willing to ''kill'' him despite Light creatures ordinarily not being especially murderous.

Carny's perpetually disappointed father, and very wealthy backer for The Choten.

* AbusiveParents: To say he treats Carny like dirt would be putting it nicely. Almost everything he says to his son translates to, "You're worthless."
* BlondeGuysAreEvil: Not as much as The Choten, but still.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He is horrible with his son, but he does show alarm when Carny has seemingly been sent to the Fire Civilisation Realm, and he does negotiate to save him from the Choten later, so he has to care to ''some'' extent.
* SelfMadeMan: He is one if we can trust on what he said about building his fortune while fighting against Ray in "Gargle, Gargle, Toil and Trouble".

A bully who picks on Ray. Who just so happens to be the son of San Campion's Mayor, Alex. He and his dad don't have the best of father/son relationships.

* BaitTheDog: In episode Brainjacked It looks like he change when he stop one of his friends from bullying a student, but it turns out he only pretends to have changed, and later in the episode [[spoiler: he ask for his dueling gauntle back saying he can help but choose to just run away.]]

* TrainingFromHell: Apparently this was his father's arrangement with The Choten. It was either this or Carny would have been "taken care of" by Heller and Fingers.
* ParentalAbandonment: Has no mom in the picture and a verbally abusive and neglectful father.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: He outright mocks Ray's origins, and nearly everything out of his mouth towards Ray is an insult to his mixed race heritage.
* TooDumbToLive: He ''very'' frequently makes he idiotic decisions that end up putting him further into trouble. The most famous case being when he summonned a Creature in an aquarium and made it fire rockets just to show off in front of his friends.

Alakshmi was The Choten's top minion and right-hand female that he'd send out on all the important and sensitive missions....at least until Ray and his friends got into the swing of things and she kept presenting failure after failure, subsequently falling from her boss's good graces. She eventually lands a victory that makes it up to him big-time, [[spoiler:until the season 1 finale where she fails to retrieve The Sword of Fiery Cataclysm from Allie and it ends up in Ray's/Infernus's hands, leading to The Choten tossing her off the tower platform they were on. She survives, going on to help Gabe and Gargle sabotage The Choten's Mana regulating device. When the Veil is reinforced, she willingly gets herself sent to the Fire Realm with Infernus and is last seen being carried away in a cage.]]

Two thirds into season 1, she gets some handy advice she takes to heart that she really should be using Fire creatures, as they more befitting of her temperament.

* AntiVillain: Type II and Type III, having been sold to The Choten as a child and having to impress him for the sake of her own ''life'' [[spoiler:and later going through one hell of a series of tribulations after she defects]] and believing that what she is doing will restore honour to her family and save the world respectively. She's still a jerk, though.
** [[spoiler:AntiHero: Eventually settles as this]]
* BatmanGambit: Uses one to get rid of of Fingers by sending him on a mission she knows he will fail, hoping The Choten will punish him for that. [[spoiler:And it works.]]
* BoyishShortHair
* BreakTheHaughty: [[spoiler:When Ray finds her aboard Skycrushers Volcano Ship]] she's learned a hard lesson in humility. Even if she still has a good snark streak in her.
* BrokenBird: After being betrayed by pretty much everyone she has ever trusted, she decides ScrewThisImOuttaHere, leaving the Duelist world behind.
* CoDragons: With Seneschal in season 1.
* DarkActionGirl
* DarkSkinnedBlonde: More like lavender.
* DarkIsEvil: Ultimately subverted, however, since her true alignment is to Fire, and [[spoiler:she eventually "reforms"]].
* DeadpanSnarker: Snarkiest of the human villains, including toward the good guys and her fellow minions.
* [[spoiler:TheDogBitesBack: After The Choten pulled a YouHaveFailedMe on her in ''The Rising'', she helps Gabe to defeat him by shutting down his mana source while he is controlling the Monarchs. She then dedicates herself to get her revenge him.]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even she is shocked when The Choten [[spoiler:sends an army of Cyberviruses to brainwash all San Campion in ''The Rising''.]]
** [[spoiler:Also, after leaving the Choten, she despises those who go back on their word and makes it a point to never break hers. She is utterly ''disgusted'' to learn about Moorna's treachery.]]
* EvilIsPetty: Seems to have developed a petty grudge against Allie. This pettiness resulted in her YouHaveFailedMe speech from The Choten.
* [[spoiler:FreudianExcuse: ''Heart of Darkness'' reveals that she had a big issue with her mother, who kept calling her a "spoiled useless daughter". She was recruited by The Choten in exchange for the promise to be trained into being able to defeat a Light creature that caused problems in her country.]]
* [[spoiler:HeelFaceTurn[=/=]HighHeelFaceTurn: It took ''a lot'' of time to happen, but she finally joins the Duel Masters as an Acolyte at the end of ''Dueling Partner''.]]
* HotBlooded: Although she tries to be cool and [[TheStoic stoic]], she's actually very driven and passionate. Something Megaria picks up on during her ReasonYouSuckSpeech to Alakshmi.
* HumiliationConga: Went from being The Choten's protegee to accumulating defeats, being told more and more of being a disappointment, being left in charge of the most degrading tasks such as cleaning the roof and mucking out the creatures pins, and eventually being downright referred by her boss as "increasingly useless". Then, when she once again tries to prove her value, she is betrayed by her creature, kidnapped by Megaria, forced to fight Allie who defeats her ''again'', and gets a ReasonYouSuckSpeech from Megaria.
* IgnoredEnamoredUnderling: To The Choten, who grows increasingly snippy at her failures.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Before switching to Fire Creatures.
* IronicEcho: Alakshmi echos a variation of an earlier line Master Nadia gives to Ray, Gabe, and Allie [[spoiler:when informing The Choten on newcomer Carny's progress.]]
-->'''Alakshmi:''' No technique, no discipline -- basically talentless...but he does have drive.
* [[spoiler:KickTheSonOfABitch: Almost; in ''Unmasked'', she ends up with the Choten at her mercy and tries to have him gutted by Razorkinder Puppet, only to be stopped in time by Tiera. Considering how many times the Choten has proven how awful of a person he is, you almost feel sorry she didn't succeed.]]
* LaserGuidedKarma: [[spoiler: She at least thinks her current situation as a slave in the Fire Civilization is the result of karma.]]
* [[spoiler:MadeASlave: At least this is what Alakshmi believes her mother did to her, that is, sold her to The Choten for a quick buck. Though the fact that it came from Megaria, who got it from Alakshmi's mind to use against her in the first place, leads one to believe that the "truth" given is highly suspect.]]
** [[spoiler: Happens to her after being caught by the Fire Civilization. Where she now works as a slave on Lord Skycrusher's volcano ship.]]
* MsFanservice: She is a rather attractive young woman dressed in a jumpsuit, and season 2 has her ending up dressed in a Skimpy Fire Civilization outfit, then in [[ItMakesSenseInContext Allie's mother's jeans]].
* OlderThanTheyLook: She looks like she in her 20s, but the Kaijudo wiki says she 16.
* PlayingWithFire: It's revealed after her travel to the Darkness Civilization that she actually is more competent with Fire Civilization creatures than Darkness Civilization ones; While she keeps using Razorkinder Puppet, she also starts following that advice, and indeed proves competent with it, to the point where The Choten entrusts her with wielding [[FlamingSword The Sword of Fiery Cataclysm]].
** KillItWithFire: Plans on burning everything in her path in "Heavenly Creatures". [[spoiler: She proceeds to do just that when the Heart of Light escapes her]].
* PsychoticSmirk: She is quite fond of this expression.
* {{Reincarnation}}: She isn't one, but seems to believe in it, twice wondering if the constant intervention of the heroes and her imprisonment are punishment for a past life's misdeeds.
* {{Revenge}}: She joined The Choten [[spoiler:to be trained so she could exact revenge on the Light Civilization creature that allegedly attacked her homeland. After being betrayed by him, she now wants revenge on ''him.'']]
* ShipTease: [[spoiler:weirdly enough, to Ray; after he saved her from the Fire Civilization, he became something of a MoralityPet to her. By the time of ''Unmasked'', she admits that he is the only person who has never betrayed her, in a very soft and gentle voice, and gives him a kiss on the cheek before disappearing.]]
* TheRival: To Allie. Also doubles as a sort-of EvilCounterpart.
* ThrowTheDogABone: [[spoiler:She finally succeeds in coming back in The Choten's favors at the end of ''Heart of Darkness'' when she brings him back Fingers, the Shield of Unity, Magaria's cape, and his evolved creature. She also realizes, thanks to Megaria, that she is using the wrong type of Civilization creature and she should be using Fire Civilization creatures instead.]]
* [[TokenGoodTeammate Token Lesser Evil Teammate]]: Granted, she definitely isn't a kind person, but she is still the most sympathetic character on the villain side beside Saguru, being a WellIntentionedExtremist with an actual FreudianExcuse, whereas Fingers and Heller are both huge {{Jerkass}}es with no redeeming qualities (and let's not even talk about The Choten himself).
* TookALevelInBadass: Once she switches to Fire Creatures.
* VillainDecay: An interesting case. She starts out as the menacing and competent henchwoman to The Choten and lasts that way until about episode 9 ''The Taken''. After that, the losses start piling up until even Fingers starts making fun of her. Then ''The Heart Of Darkness'', where she sinks even lower, being captured by Megaria and forced to fight, and lose, to Allie. Then the aforementioned ThrowTheDogABone happens, and she's back to being menacing and competent again.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She does believe that The Choten has a noble goal beyond just [[TakeOverTheWorld ruling the world]].
* [[spoiler:YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: The Choten finally tires of her for good during "The Rising", tossing her away down a ship hatch. She lives, assists Gabe, and sets off on her own. She's last seen being carried off in a cage in the Fire Realm.]]
* [[spoiler:WildCard: She hates the Choten for tossing her aside and betraying her and wants revenge, but refuses to join Ray and the others. She and the Armored Duelist are on their own side, and no one knows what they will do now that they're free.]]
** Now that[[spoiler: Teira has betrayed her and joined the Choten, she appears to have given up completely, just wanting to be left alone.]]
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: By the end of the series, its hard to not pity her.
* WouldHurtAChild: Ray and his friends are younger than her and she has on more than one occasion tried to get rid of them.

A girl in Ray, Gabe, and Allie's class. Although she comes from a ''very'' poor family, as is noticeable from her threadbear, thrift store-bought clothes and her "wear your hair as-is" style, she's quite sharp and surprisingly good under pressure. Refers to herself as Empress, Megaria is one of the powers vying for control of the entire Darkness Civilization, along with her sisters. To that end, she amasses anything that she feels will help her stake her claim, like a stray Kaijudo Duelist or two.

As her name suggests, Megaria is a packrat of sorts, always collecting odds and ends that she finds valuable. The nearby natives are so scared of her that they often give her gifts (like Scaradorables to eat) and trinkets to appease her. And as one might guess, someone like her can never be appeased for long.

A Nature Creature that was accidentally trapped in the human realm when the Veil was created and ended up living there for years. * IShallTauntYou: Uses this strategy against Tatsurion during their fight in the Nature Tournament.
* LastOfHisKind: He ''thinks'' he's this, when in fact his people are just in another dimension.
* LightningBruiser
* ScarilyCompetentTracker

!Moorna "The Vengeful", Gatling Dragon
-->Voiced by: Music/GreyDeLisle

->''"I knew I smelled your traitorous stink, Tasturion. I almost missed you."''
[[quoteright:210:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/moorna_gatling_dragon_4605.jpg]]

Tatsurion's dragon sister. Much like most of the dragon side of his family, Moorna considers Tatsurion a dishonour to their species and is on a quest to eliminate him.

* ActorAllusion: Music/GreyDeLisle as [[WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender a fire-based character who wants to rip apart her own sibling]].
* [[BigBrotherBully Big Sister Bully]]: Taken to the most extreme logical; she wants to ''kill'' Tatsurion.
* CainAndAbel: Cain to Tatsurion's Abel.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: She's too much of a hothead consumed by hatred of Bob to think up a good plan of trapping him, which Alaksmi points out.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: She brought Tatsurion and his mother to Brutalus' lair, expecting her former betrothed to kill them and restore his honor. It didn't occur to her for a second that Brutalus ''didn't'' blame Tatsurion for the loss of his wing and considered revenge as pointless.
* EvilIsPetty: Tricks Bob into going on a hunt as if she is finally accepting him as a brother. Turns out Moorna brought him to watch her burn down Bob's Quillspike home.
* FantasticRacism: Hates Tatsurian for dirtying her noble bloodline and looks down on anyone not a dragon.
* {{Flight}}
* InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons
* JerkAss: And ''how''.
* MoreDakka: Why do you think they call her ''Gatling'' Dragon?
* NeverMyFault: Yes, Moorna, it's completely Tatsurion's fault if he crippled your betrothed while trying to defend his family that ''you'' tricked everyone into attacking just to hurt him. You know it's bad when even said betrothed thinks she is wrong.
* [[ProudWarriorRaceGuy Proud Warrior Race Girl]]: As is true with most dragons.

!Brutalus
[[quoteright:334:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brutalus_3_9829.png]]
-->Voiced by: Dee Bradley Baker

Moorna's former betrothed. He was cast aside by her and exiled when a young Tatsurion destroyed his left wing.

* BadassBeard[=/=]BeardOfSorrow: After his exile.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even before becoming a better person, he was genuinely shocked to learn Moorna had them raid Tasturion's Quillspike family. Later, he admits that, had he known sooner, he would have refused to begin with.
* TheExile: He was forced into seclusion after losing a wing. A dragon who cannot fly is shamed by the community.
* HandicappedBadass: Thanks to Tatsurion, his left wing is too damaged to allow him to fly, making him a cripple by Dragon standards. He still seems quite strong and capable of handling himself in a fight.
* MiseryBuildsCharacter: His years in exile helped him realize the Dragon's "Code of honor" is a total crock. And made him a better (If still bitter) creature.
* MysticalWhiteHair
* NonIndicativeName: He is anything ''but'' a brute. In fact, he is probably the nicest full-dragon character in the show so far.

!The Quillspikes
* AesopAmnesia: Even though they had learnt to respect him in their first appearance, Razorhide and Prickleback start mocking him again in his next appearance.
** [[SubvertedTrope ...not really.]] When they next meet, most of what they do in the way of mocking is nothing worse than a usual sibling relationship, until he reveals he has wings - very Dragony trait, not very Quillspiky trait.
* JerkAss: Razorhide and Prickleback aren't the nicest guys with him...
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: ... but they still display a nicer side occasionnally, and, not matter how mean they can be, they are ''nothing'' compared to [[BigBrotherBully Moorna]].
* PricklyPorcupine
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Razorhide and Prickleback are kinda dicks to Tatsurion, but their mother Headstrong Wanderer is much nicer and more comprehensive.

!Ambassador Gregoria, Princess of Malevolence
-->Voiced by: KariWahlgren
[[quoteright:238:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ambassador_gregoria_2_8784.png]]

Sister to Megaria, and just as underhanded and double-dealing as she is.

* {{Ambadassador}}: She acts as ambassador between the Water and Fire civilization negotiations. She's also a Dark Lord, among the most powerful of the Darkness Creatures.
* ArsonMurderAndAdmiration: She frequently likes to compliment people's ability to manipulate and deceive people (Allie most of the time), even when ''she'' is the target of the deception.
* BadassBoast: "We will find a way! Darkness ''always'' finds a way!"
* BadassCape
* TheBaroness
* CoolSword: Her Sword of Trailing Darkness.
* TheDragon: To Queen Kalima during [[spoiler:the invasion of San Campio by the Darkness Civilization.]]
* [[spoiler:EnemyMine: With The Duel Masters and Sasha in ''Fallout'']]
** [[spoiler:FireForgedFriends: Seems to have develop into this with Sasha at the end of the episode.]]
* GoodCounterpart: Debatably to Megaria. She is every bit as deceptive as her, but, unlike her, she seems to have Darkness Civilization's best interests at heart, and [[spoiler:eventually teams up with the Duel Masters rather than the Choten]].
* NiceHat
* NoMouth
* PassThePopcorn: Essentially sums up her reaction when supervising the bickering negociations between Lord Skycrusher and Lord Finbarr.
* {{Troll}}: When interacting with Sasha, she intentionally messes with her by invoking a paradox through her statement that she is incapable of telling the truth.
* WhipItGood: Her favorite tool.

!The Mystic
-->Voiced by: JohnDiMaggio

[[spoiler:A creature who was first sought in order to free the Armored Figure in the Fire Civilization. It appears to Raiden in many forms to teach him when he needs it.]]

* BullyingADragon: [[spoiler: Teira thought it was a good idea to try to control him. She learned the hard way how wrong she was.]]
* ElementalEmbodiment: [[spoiler: Manifests as the element of the Civilzation he appears in. There was initially believed to be one Mystic for each element, when in truth there is only one Mystic who manifests through all five elements.]]
* IHaveManyNames: [[spoiler: Though called the Fire Mystic when first introduce, he reveals to Raiden that he belongs to all Civilizations, but none of them.]]
* SecretTestOfCharacter: To Raiden [[spoiler: who he teaches through his cryptic words. Also to Teira, who he imprisoned in the armor so that she could learn to be humble and not hunger for power.]]
* TricksterMentor

[[/folder]]

[[folder: The Monarchs]]
! Tropes to the group as a whole:

* {{Kaiju}}: All of them are prime representatives of the "Kaiju" in the term "Kaijudo"
* LargeAndInCharge
* MindControl: All of them get this inflicted on them, even if for only a short time, in both episodes of ''The Rising''.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Not only are they all BadAss, but they also appear to be quite active in their role. As soon as they are freed and get back to their respective Civilizations, things are quick to move.
* SealedBadassInACan: [[spoiler:Have been slumbering on earth for ages]].

!Infernus The Immolator
-->Voiced by: JohnDiMaggio

->''"Send word to all Fire Creatures: We go to WAR!"''
[[quoteright:191:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_1rsz_20130116220441infernus_the_immolator_5728.png]]

* AntiVillain: He has ''really'' good reasons to hate the Masters.
* BadassBaritone
* CoolSword: His artifact, the Sword of Fiery Cataclysm, is a large FlamingSword. [[spoiler:he gets it back in ''The Rising'']].
* EnemyMine: [[spoiler:Despite his grudge toward the Duel Masters, he agrees to fight alongside Ray against The Choten, though he makes it clear that the alliance will end with the battle.]]
* EvilSoundsDeep
* InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons
* PlayingWithFire
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: [[spoiler:He eventually grants Tatsurion a full pardon and Dragon rights for saving Lord Skycrusher.]]

!King Tritonus
-->Voiced by: Creator/JamesArnoldTaylor
[[quoteright:244:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/king_tritonus_gallery_2085.png]]

* BadassBaritone
* BadassBoast: Delivers one to [[spoiler:The Choten]] when he [[spoiler:finally gets freed]]:
--->"[[spoiler:You have enslaved and humiliated Tritonus, violated my mind, and created havoc in my name; For this, I WILL OBLITERATE YOU!]]"
* CombatTentacles: Obviously.
* CoolHelmet: Though he is the only one to have stayed quite long without it, his artifact, the Helm of Ultimate Technology, is one.
* CyberCyclops: Has a single glowing eye, and, like most Water creature, probably is partially cybernetic.
* [[spoiler:TheDogBitesBack: He is ''not'' happy about the Choten manipulating him when he finally gets freed.]]
* EverythingsSquishierWithCephalopods: Looks like a a giant, jellyfish-like creature.
* MakingASplash
* [[spoiler:MindControl: Unlike the other Monarchs, the Choten retains a control over him upon ending up in the Veil, and uses him to instigate a war between all civilization so he can make a profit of it.]]
* [[spoiler:OutOfCharacterAlert: Sort of. When the Choten starts using him to manipulate the Water Civilization into a war against the Fire Civilization (and later other civilizations as well), the Cyber-Lords immediatly start questioning the logic behind his decisions. When they get arrested for this, Lord Finbarr quickly figures out the truth and asks for the Duel Masters' help.]]
* [[spoiler:UnwittingPawn]]

!Almighty Colossus
[[quoteright:152:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_almighty_colossus_3977.png]]
* BreathWeapon: Uses one [[spoiler:to help destroy the Veil in the Rising]].
* GreenThumb
* FertileFeet: A little ''too'' fertile, as his return overcharges the Nature Civilization with Mana. While this has positive effects on some of them, such as causing plants to grow and farming to prosper, it also causes vegetables-like creatures to grow stronger and more aggressive (though they eventually learn how to control it).
* HornedHumanoid: With a ''very'' large definition of "humanoid".
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: His artifact, the Shield of Unity.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Four-armed to be specific.
* OurGiantsAreBigger: And in this case, ''really'' bigger. As Allie describes, he's "A mountain with horns."
* TheUnintelligible: Seems incapable of speaking words, so he simply roars.

!Queen Kalima of the Infinite Dark
-->Voiced by: Alanna Ubach

->"We Darkness Creatures are rather susceptible to changing our mind. Do ''not'' tempt me, human."

[[quoteright:121:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_1rsz_queen_kalima_of_the_infinite_dark_3_3971.png]]

* BadassCape: Her artifact, the Cloak of Dark Illusion. [[spoiler:Allie gives it back to her as a price to stop the invasion of San Campion.]]
* BreathWeapon: Uses one [[spoiler:to help destroy the Veil in The Rising]].
* CastingAShadow
* DarkIsEvil[=/=]DarkIsNotEvil: Walks this line, and eventually [[spoiler:begrudgingly]] settles on the latter.
* [[EvilSoundsDeep Evil Sounds Scary]]: Her normal voice, while shrill and bird-like, is undoubtedly female. However, when she wants to sound threatening, [[VoiceOfTheLegion her voice gets far deeper]].
* GlowingEyes: Purple glowing to be specific.
* ObviouslyEvil: [[InvokedTrope Invoked]]. She doesn't make any secret of the fact that Darkness Creatures are known to be deceptive, and frequently warns the other characters about it. Ironically, she actually is more neutral than really evil.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Looks like a large, bat-like dragon with a mask-like beak.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Sort of. She's willing to free Ray and company after they help protect her realm, but she was still [[spoiler:tricked into restarting the war between Light and Darkness.]]
** [[spoiler: She also agreed to call off her invasion of San Campion if given back the Cloak of Dark Illusion, even though, as a Darkness Creature, it would have been fully within her nature to deceive Allie.]]

!Eternal Haven Angelic Liege
[[quoteright:288:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/640px-eternal_haven_angelic_liege_3_3143.png]]

* FlyingSaucer: Looks like one.
* FrickinLaserBeams: Uses one [[spoiler:to help destroy the Veil in The Rising]].
* GenderReveal: Due to her machine-like appearance, we don't learn she actually is a female until her second appearance, where she is explicitly referred to as a Queen.
* LightEmUp
* MakeMeWannaShout: The Angel-like faces under her body can be used to generate sonic attacks.
* OrderVersusChaos: [[spoiler: Represents Order.]]
* OurAngelsAreDifferent
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: She can take quite drastic or brutal decisions, but she will listen to her subjects' opinion and consider following their suggestions if they give good enough arguments. [[spoiler:In ''Clash of the Monarch'', she tries to prevent Infernus and Tritonus from gutting each others before getting taken over by Brightmore.]]
* TheUnintelligible: Express herself in music-like sounds...
** IntelligibleUnintelligible: ... But other creatures do understand her.
* [[spoiler:WellIntentionedExtremist: In "Exchange Program", she tries to help humanity to become more serene and orderly... by abducting humans and brainwash them to remove their free will. Sasha and Gabe eventually manages to convince her to go for a more peaceful approach to study humans.]]
* [[spoiler:YouWillBeAssimilated: Attempts to make the human world "orderly". Though according to Sasha, this was option 2. Option 1 was destroying humanity.]]
