!!Homestar Runner
[[quoteright:180:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/180px-NewestHomestar_9833.png]]
->''Evewybody loves the me! I'm a tewwific athlete!''
->Debut: ''"Literature/TheHomestarRunnerEntersTheStrongestManInTheWorldContest"''

Ostensibly the main character of the site. Homestar is a dim but (usually) lovable doofus with no arms and no clue. He means well, but his idiocy often leads him to accidentally say and do things that alienate his friends. Seems to think that he and Strong Bad are buddies, to the chagrin of the latter.

* ArmlessBiped: Despite his lack of arms, he's still capable of activities like typing on a computer.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He, Pom Pom and Coach Z seem to be the law enforcers in Free Country USA
* TheBore: Often, the sort who is totally oblivious to the disinterest of whomever he's talking to. He's also the one playing the part of the "office dullard" in Sbemail #37.
* [[spoiler:CastAsAMask:]] in [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/lappynapped.html this toon]].
* CatchPhrase: "Seriously"[[note]]''Sewioswy''[[/note]]. He (extremely) briefly tried to incorporate a new one: "That's bupkus!"
* CloudCuckoolander: While he's usually just a ditz, he can fall into this at times especially in "the movies".
* TheDitz
** TheFool
*** TooDumbToFool
** Sometimes subverted in scenes with characters who are so far out in [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Cloudcuckooland]] (Coach Z, for example) that he can't but look like the OnlySaneMan.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: In his earliest appearances, Homestar wasn't really dumb at all.
* ElmuhFuddSyndwome: Evewybody loves the Homestaw Wunnew. He's a tewwific athelete. He acknowledges that he has "twouble with [his] aw's."
** Averted in his high school years, however.
* [[HenpeckedHusband Henpecked Boyfriend]]: Marzipan treats him like environmentally-friendly dirt.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: He's friends with Strong Bad, and he's Marzi's boyfriend.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Homestar tends to say things that offend people out of sheer stupidity rather than any malicious intent.
* InvisibleAnatomy: He once wore a long sleeved coat that actually moved when he picked up something, yet he still has no visible arms.
* LongPants: The Trope Namer. Played with in Strong Bad Email #126: "long pants".
-->'''Strong Bad:''' Let's talk about your pants. Or your lack thereof.\\
'''Homestar:''' What are you talking about? I wear long pants!\\
'''Strong Bad:''' No, from what I can tell, you wear ''no'' pants and have blue soles glued to the bottoms of your feet.
* ManChild: When he checked into a hotel, he ordered a race car bed.
* MisterSeahorse: He thinks he's a pregnant woman in ''[[http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail158.html cliffhangers]]''.
* NiceHat: He just [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/wheremyhat.html wouldn't be the same]] without his "[[InsistentTerminology buzzer]]".
* RaymanianLimbs: He doesn't even have HANDS! Provided, his legs and feet are intact.
* TooDumbToLive: Just to cite one example, he once lit a fire inside of a mascot costume while ''inside of it''. That would be stupid even if it wasn't made of highly flammable [[AppliedPhlebotinum Polymascotfoamalate]].
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Strong Bad.
* VocalEvolution: Homestar's voice had gotten a bit deeper over the years.

!!Marzipan
[[quoteright:180:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marzipan_3356.png]]
->''I'm a fiercely independent woman, and I'm fiercely independent about the soy products I choose.''
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/HomestarRunnerMarshmallowsLastStand Marshamallow's Last Stand]]"''

Homestar's on-again, off-again girlfriend, largely by the fact of being [[Main/TheSmurfettePrinciple the only major female character on the website.]] Marzipan is a grade-A GranolaGirl whom Strong Bad has described as "a dirty hippie, without the dirt". She has a tendency to protest things at the drop of a hat. Marzipan has also expressed artistic leanings: she frequently sings and plays songs on her guitar Carol, and has been showing painting and indulging in other forms of arts and crafts from time to time.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Even though she seems like the basic hippie chick stereotype, she injures or practically tortures Homestar on frequent ocassions (see below), and hurts Strong Bad quite a few times, such as minor cartoon slapstick like hitting him with her guitar, or outright shoves a pencil into his head in [=SBCG4AP=]. That last one was just because [[DisproportionateRetribution he needed to record a make-out scene for Dangeresque 3]].
* TheChick
* GagNose: Before she had her "questionable voluntary surgery", she had [[http://www.hrwiki.org/w/images/7/7a/Mam15pernt2.png a really long nose]].
* GranolaGirl
* HeroicComedicSociopath: Some of her more extreme actions include locking Homestar in a cupboard for a few months with no food (she'd told him there was cake in there) and handing Strong Bad a rake, and shovel and a Garden Weasel to smash into Homestar's face. And Homestar's her ''boyfriend'' (most of the time).
* HippyTeacher: She's the teacher at L.U.R.N., which is more or less what happens when you mix a hippie cult with a classroom.
* InvisibleAnatomy
* ThePresidentsDaughter: The King of Town [[http://homestarrunner.com/oldflash.html was originally considered to be her dad]], but the Brothers Chaps [[RetCon now dismiss that idea as]] [[http://web.archive.org/web/20041112050031/http://www.clubaquatica.net/Interviews/matttranscript_2.htm "a horrible rumor."]]
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Marzipan is the only main female character. The others are usually one time only characters.
* SoapBoxSadie
* StrawmanPolitical: Marzipan is often used for {{Take That}}s at left-wing politics.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type A. Even though her treatment of Homestar at times is less than reasonable, she seems to generally enjoy having him around. She never outright admits it, however.

!!Pom Pom
[[quoteright:220:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pom_pom_5773.PNG]]
->''(bubble bubble)''
->Debut: ''"Literature/TheHomestarRunnerEntersTheStrongestManInTheWorldContest"''

Homestar's best buddy. Despite looking like an orange-and-yellow ball with an ovoid head and arms and only communicating through bubbling noises, Pom-Pom is apparently a hip, tech-savvy ladies' man.

* TheAce: Although he isn't the best at [[VideoGame/PokerNightAtTheInventory Texas hold 'em]].
* {{Acrofatic}}: Despite his ball-like shape, he once jumped over Strong Badia and the Concession Stand in a single bound, after jumping through the treetops of a nearby forest
* TheArtifact
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He's been voted 'most likely to beat everyone in an all-out death match' ever since he pummeled Strong Bad for trying to pop him with a pin. He's also a martial arts master and has an itchy trigger finger when it comes to firearms, so watch out.
* ChickMagnet
* DemotedToExtra: Was introduced as Homestar's best friend and played an important role in the site's early history as a favorite of The Brothers Chaps (starring as the ''only'' character in [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/pompom.html their first ever Flash]] and getting [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/pomwhole.html his]] [[{{ADayInTheLimelight}} Day in the Limelight]] ''well'' before the site caught on in popularity), but seems to have [[{{TheArtifact}} sunk more into the background]] as of late, thanks in no small part to his role as TheUnintelligible limiting his potential for jokes.
* IntelligibleUnintelligible
* KavorkaMan: Pom Pom apparently gets a lot of chicks, despite being a giant bouncy ball thing.
* MartyStu: In-universe example. Strong Bad seems to think so.
--> ''Stupid Pom-Pom and and his boring physical superiority.''
* OnlySaneMan
* SatelliteCharacter: Was first introduced as Homestar's best friend and nothing more, but CharacterDevelopment has been kind enough to give him a few unique traits of his own.
* StraightMan

!!Strong Bad
[[quoteright:239:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/strongbad2kq.png]]
->''You don't know it yet, but [[JustHereForGodzilla I'm the real reason you're here]]. Check me out! No, seriously, check me out.''
->Debut: ''"Literature/TheHomestarRunnerEntersTheStrongestManInTheWorldContest"''

Arguably the real main character of the website. Strong Bad is an egotistical fellow who appears to be wearing boxing gloves and a ''luchador'' mask, though it's explained those are what his face and hands actually look like. His hobbies include tormenting his neighbors (especially Homestar Runner, Marzipan, and Strong Sad), [[Main/FourthWallMailSlot responding to e-mails from his fans]], and playing [[Main/PacManFever retro video games]]. His pet peeves include Homestar and people asking him "How do you type with boxing gloves on?"

He is [[GuestFighter one of your opponents in]] ''VideoGame/PokerNightAtTheInventory'', along with [[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 The Heavy]], [[VideoGame/SamAndMaxFreelancePolice Max]], and [[WebComic/PennyArcade Tycho]].

* AllMenArePerverts
* AntiquatedLinguistics: Old Timey Strong Bad.
* {{Badbutt}}: Mostly as a result of ''pretending'' that he's full-on {{Badass}} when he just ''isn't''.
* BigBrotherBully: He treats his younger brother Strong Sad like crap, to a far greater extent than he does to any other character.
* BreakoutCharacter
* BuffySpeak
* CardCarryingVillain: He sometimes thinks of himself as this.
* CasanovaWannabe
* CatchPhrase: He use to "like-a to say, 'holy crap'!" As his Dangeresque counterpart, he has "Looks like I'm gonna have to jump...!"
* CheatersNeverProsper: Most of the time.
* DeadpanSnarker
* DefiantStoneThrow
* DickDastardlyStopsToCheat
* DiscoDan: Aside from the New Paper and the Compé, he has ridiculously outdated technology. For starters he considered [[SuperNintendoEntertainmentSystem Mode 7]] to be state-of-the art.
** Also seems to quite an affinity for videogames OlderThanTheNES.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: A couple instances with Homestar, plus an email from a lovestruck dude named Brian.
* EvilIsCool: [[invoked]] Undoubtedly the reason why he keeps trying to proclaim himself a villain when he [[HarmlessVillain clearly]] [[PokeThePoodle isn't]].
** NotSoHarmlessVillain: He does have pretty nasty moments, however, such as the abuse he heaps on Strong Sad and The Cheat and his more violent tendencies.
* ExpressiveMask
* {{Expy}}: Strong Bad gets both his name and the red-masked luchador appearance from the Data East NES game ''Tag Team Wrestling''.
* GenreSavvy
* GoofyPrintUnderwear
* GrammarNazi: Strong Bad will always make fun of people whose emails have bad spelling and grammar.
** HypocriticalHumor: He enjoys criticizing people's grammar, but his isn't perfect either.
* HaveIMentionedIAmSexuallyActiveToday
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: The emails "rampage" and "your edge" has Strong Bad getting called out on it and trying his absolute best to assure everyone that he's not, [[PokeThePoodle with mixed results]].
* {{Jerkass}}
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold
* KickTheDog: While Strong Bad is generally a HarmlessVillain with a tendency to PokeThePoodle, he does have these moments when he gets a little more aggressive/violent.
* LargeHam
* MenaceDecay: Acknowledged in the sbemail "Your Edge".
* MetaGuy
* MetalScream: And the Trogdor comes in the NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!!!!!
* {{MST}}: [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/costumes.html On]] [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/costumes05.html some]] [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/costumes06.html Costumes]] [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/costumes2007.html made]] [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/costumes08.html by]] [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/costumes2009.html fans]] They are quite funny.
** Not to mention [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemailintro.html the site intro]].
* TheNapoleon
* NostalgiaFilter: He tries to enter the email command in The Cheat's computer, only to discover that it doesn't work that way. When he gets his newest computer, he mistakes the wallpaper for a full-colored photo taped to the monitor. Finally, after checking his first email on his newest computer, the pop-up bubble, Compé-per, says "Ah-ha", much to Strong Bad's delight. He discovers the sounds could be changed and replaces said pop-up sound with the printer sound.
* PetTheDog: Though it's usually on Strong Sad's part, there are times when Strong Bad actually gets along with him.
* PokeThePoodle: Strong Bad's ideas of evil acts include not inflating a deflated basketball, throwing feathers at people, and spreading mayonnaise all over the living room and waiting almost half-an-hour before cleaning it up.
-->"'''THIRTY WHOLE MINUTES!! Can you believe!!'''-yeah okay, we're losing our edge."
* RoguesGallery: Refers to himself, Strong Mad, and the Cheat as a "multi-purpose criminal element" in his character video. However, they are [[HarmlessVillain not much of a threat.]]
* SmallNameBigEgo
* SmokingIsCool: He enjoys the occasional cigar, and the office he is usually working in almost always has a lit cigarette in an ashtray next to him.
** The ashtray only appears when he's playing the eponymous hardboiled P.I. in his homemade Dangeresque films.
*** He's never actually seen with one in hand, so it's possible that he just likes the smoke filling the air.
*** He actually DID smoke a cigar [[http://www.hrwiki.org/w/images/d/d7/Thank_You_2.PNG once]], though there's no way of seeing the short toon anymore. To see it, you had to buy something from the store between 5 AM and 11:59 PM, but even then there was only a 1/3 chance that that was the one you would see. And on top of that, they discontinued the store messages in 2008.
** Coach Z once finds him "smoking," but Strong Bad denies he's a smoker admits it's just a white crayon he lit on fire so he can use to get a smoke break after he'd taken up all the other types of leaves including maternity.
* SpotlightStealingSquad
* TalkingInYourSleep: For some reason, he tends to mumble names of various SuperNES games while dozing.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist
* VillainProtagonist: He aspires to be one, and is to a degree when one considers some of his crueler acts. However, he's a HarmlessVillain for the most part.
* VocalEvolution: He used to have some kind of Hispanic accent.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: TropeNamer. His anime counterpart, Stinkoman, has blue hair for some inexplicable reason.

!!Strong Mad
[[quoteright:180:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/strong_mad_1184.png]]
->''I'M STRONG MAD!!!!! ''[beat]'' I DON'T LIKE THIS MOVIE!!! ''[another beat; smiles]'' I LIKE THE CHEAT!''
->Debut: ''"Super NES"''

Strong Bad's [[DumbMuscle hulking brute]] big brother. Doesn't say much, but what he does say is always said in a sort of guttural half-shout. Best buds with The Cheat.

* AndCallHimGeorge: He once stayed over at Homestar's house to play. Homestar got buried under cinderblocks, had the Concession Stand thrown at him, and got hit by a meteorite. Though the meteorite wasn't Strong Mad's fault.
* BigBrotherBully: He sometimes torments Strong Sad, though not to as great of an extent as Strong Bad does.
** He is also not above tormenting Strong Bad, especially if he lashes out at The Cheat.
* TheBigGuy
* BoisterousBruiser: He's big and strong, highly protective of The Cheat and has NoIndoorVoice.
* BroughtToYouByTheLetterS: "M" on his singlet.
* TheBrute
* CloudCuckoolander: Not only does he [[NoIndoorVoice not have an indoor voice]], according to Strong Bad, he also has "a pretty tenuous grasp on the English language." Example:
-->'''Strong Bad:''' Hey, Strong Mad, what's my favorite movie?\\
'''Strong Mad:''' GARBLEDINA!
* TheDitz
* DumbMuscle
* ExtremeOmnivore: He eats everything but guitars. Yes, he even eats The Cheat. Several times to give him baths, if Strong Bad is to be believed.
** [[UpToEleven He can drink internet bandwidth.]]
* GentleGiant / ManChild: For all his muscle and hostility, he also has a big heart and a soft side, especially towards The Cheat, [[PapaWolf of whom he is quite defensive]]. Also, while Strong Mad is the oldest of the Strong brothers, he is also the most childish and naïve.
* NoIndoorVoice: "I CAN BE THE QUIETEST MOUSE! '''I LIVE IN THE QUIETEST HOUSE!!'''"
* OffscreenTeleportation: In "Homestar Ruiner".
* PapaWolf: Towards The Cheat.
* PerpetualFrowner: His default expression is a big, angry frown. He has smiled on occasion though.

!!Strong Sad
[[quoteright:180:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/strong_sad_9578.png]]
->''Each day, we die a little more.''
->Debut: ''"Super NES"''

Strong Bad's depressed, sarcastic punching bag younger brother. Years of being picked on by his brothers have given him an outlook on life that's as grim and gray as he is. Strong Sad is fairly smart, though, and occasionally gets one over on Strong Bad.

* BeamMeUpScotty: That wasn't Strong Sad that said "I'm saaaaad that I'm flying"; it was The Cheat. Similarly, the line "Oh, some animal died," was originally said by Homestar impersonating Strong Sad. Even the creators get this one confused. He eventually got around to saying both, though.
* TheBore: He's rather resigned to the fact that nobody except Marzipan and Homsar are interested in his art, poetry, and music. (And it's hard to tell with Homsar.)
* ButtMonkey
* CharacterBlog: [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/sadjournal/index.html Here]], though "I haven't updated that thing in years."
** In keeping with his EmoTeen characterization, it's modeled on LiveJournal.
* DeadpanSnarker
* TheDogBitesBack: Strong Sad does get Strong Bad back every once in a while, such as when he tasered the living crap out of Strong Bad in ''[[VideoGame/StrongBadsCoolGameForAttractivePeople Baddest of the Bands]]''.
* TheEeyore
* EmoTeen: He may or may not be teenage, but he fits otherwise.
* {{Fanboy}}: In the email "fan club", it's revealed that Strong Sad heads the fan club devoted to Strong Bad Emails, the "Deleteheads".
* FutureBadass
* {{Hipster}}: Among all the cast he's the most natural source of jokes on this, like his Fugazi-referencing "This is not a the geddup noise t-shirt."
* IntoxicationEnsues: Bad things happen when Strong Sad drinks coffee. It doesn't even matter if its decaf or not. Just don't give him [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail91.html caffeine]].
* MadEye / TwitchyEye: When he gets caffeinated.
* MetaGuy
* {{Nerd}}
* NoRespectGuy: The rest of the cast generally [[ButtMonkey treats him pretty badly]], even though he's the [[TheSmartGuy smartest (intelligible) person in the cast]].
* OnlySaneMan
* TheSmartGuy: He deduced a way to return King Bubsgonzola (Supreme) back to his normal size by using a bowl of Kashi, and is also capable of calculating the temperature, humidity and barometric pressure using no tools when asked. At one point he transcribed ''Literature/ParadiseLost'' on a single grain of rice in four languages.

!!The Cheat
[[quoteright:180:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/180px-The_Cheat_Character_Video_5480.PNG]]
->''Meh!''
->Debut: ''"Literature/TheHomestarRunnerEntersTheStrongestManInTheWorldContest"''

Strong Bad's small, yellow, [[TheUnintelligible unintelligible]], and snarky pet/lackey. He supposedly lives in the King of Town's grill, but hangs out in the house of the Brothers Strong to work on his computer, Tangerine Dreams, where he makes his own Flash cartoons (usually with [[StylisticSuck badly-drawn and voiced]] members of the rest of the cast [[HerCodenameWasMarySue singing the praises of The Cheat and giving him trophies]]).

* TheAce: During his off time from helping Strong Bad.
* BizarreAlienBiology: As Strong Bad put it once, "[[http://hrwiki.org/w/images/3/32/thecheat_physiology.png The Cheat's physiology]] is... baffling."
* TheChewToy: People like kicking him. One game even features Strong Bad building a machine (comprised of a giant replica of his foot) designed to kick The Cheat into a brick wall. There was also a weird running gag where The Cheat's [[YourHeadASplode head would suddenly explode]] for no reason.
** KickTheSonOfABitch: Given The Cheat's criminal tendencies, he definitely deserves some of that kicking.
* {{Expy}}: Of Eugene the Jeep, of ''Thimble Theater'' and ''{{ComicStrip/Popeye}}'' fame.
* HypercompetentSidekick: In most cases.
* SpellMyNameWithAThe: He is "The Cheat."
* TheUnintelligible: A strange case, since he is fully capable of coherent speech as it's been confirmed he does all the voice acting for his animations. Otherwise, he's completely unintelligible.
** IntelligibleUnintelligible
* WeaselMascot: Especially his old-timey counterpart, "The Sneak", which is a rat/possum-like creature.
* YourHeadASplode: Often.

[[folder:Other Main Characters]]

!!Bubs
[[quoteright:220:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bubs_5676.png]]
->''I'm a self-made man, I am, I am! I sell hot dogs, chili dogs, slaw dogs, ketchup dogs and mustard dogs. I got drinks, drinks, drinks, candy and snow cones. I can fix everything what needs fixing. Like cars, [=TVs=]... marriages... [...] I guess the best word that describes me is... "personality". Um, because I have a good personality.''
->Debut: ''"Literature/WhereMyHatIsAt"''

Enthusiastic (and not entirely honest) salesman and handyman, and proprietor of Bubs' Concession Stand. Also something of a party animal.

* HonestJohnsDealership: And how! [[http://hrwiki.org/wiki/Bubs%27s_Shady_Business_Practices Here's a list of his more questionable practices.]]
* JiveTurkey
* {{Kaiju}}: King Bubsgonzola (Supreme).
* MrFixit: If something's broken, you go to Bubs.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Until about 2004, when [[Main/VocalEvolution his voice changed]], his voice was Matt Chapman's best attempt at sounding like Redd Foxx.
** Post evolution, he voice turned into a Scatman Crothers impersonation.
* OnlyShopInTown: His Concession Stand is this to Free Country, USA.
* OrangeBlueContrast: Has a blue face, and an orange body.
* PaperThinDisguise: His "Thnikkaman" disguise is literally a piece of paper taped to his chest and a pair of sunglasses.
* TheScrooge
* SelfMadeMan: He is, he is!
* WeSellEverything: He seems to sell anything the characters need at the moment.

!!Coach Z
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/coach_z_7947.png]]
->''I have more than two praeblems!''
->Debut: ''"Literature/WhereMyHatIsAt"''

A lonely, vaguely creepy, and quite possibly crazy coach and aspiring rap artist with an exaggerated Midwestern accent ("Great jaerb, Homestar!"). He was originally just someone to whom Homestar came for advice, but the Brothers Chaps have played up the seedy side of Coach Z's life to the point that [[Main/{{Flanderization}} it now dominates his character]].

* TheAlcoholic: Unconventional, as he prefers to get his alcohol from Listerine, of all things.
* AnythingThatMoves: In keeping with his [[StalkerWithACrush creepiness]], he seems to have shown interest in not only [[TheSmurfettePrinciple Marzipan]], but also Bubs, Homestar, and even Pom Pom. And he [[http://www.hrwiki.org/wiki/strong_badathlon#Commentary_Transcript apparently]] had a crush on "a hot blonde" at one point.
* BroughtToYouByTheLetterS: "Z" on his medallion.
* CatchPhrase: You can't just rush into the score zone!
* CloudCuckoolander
* DiscoDan
* [[DreadfulMusician Dreadful Rapper]]: With the exception of his part in [[CrowningMusicOfAwesome "Loading Screens"]].
* FunnyForeigner: He's "a crazy man from another country," at least according to [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/yearbookcz.html this old character page]]. Might help explain his [[JustAStupidAccent ridiculous accent]], at any rate.
* GiftedlyBad
* InformedAttribute: It is well known in the H* R universe that Coach Z is ThePigPen. It's just not that obvious to us.
* JiveTurkey: And unlike Bubs, he doesn't make it sound cool.
* MonochromaticEyes
* PerpetualPoverty: "Aw, crackles! I forgot to pay my bills again this year."
* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: Originally, he just called himself a coach because he thought [[http://homestarrunner.com/oldflash.html "Coach Z sounds cooler than just Z"]], but this idea [[RetCon has been pretty thoroughly abandoned]]. Doesn't stop him from doing just as much rapping and janitorial work as coaching nowadays, though.
* ThePigPen: He has been known to have questionable hygiene. At one point, he also leaked what could only be crude oil after [[FanDisservice taking off a ratty thong]] in the swimming pool.
-->'''Strong Mad:''' PUT IT BACK ON! '''PUT IT BACK ON!!'''
* PissTakeRap: He's made dozens of songs, only one of which could be considered "good." One of his songs consists entirely of him counting to four and counting to two.
* PrettyFlyForAWhiteGuy
* SpeechImpediment: "JEOOOOOORGHB!!!!!"
* StalkerWithACrush: Shown in the Answering Machine tapes. He has probably broken into Marzipan's house at least once, and as of the latest AM installment, Marzi actually has a restraining order on him.
* UnexplainedAccent: His accent is so strange the main characters occasionally accuse him of making it up. For example, when he and Bubs go trick-or-treating in "Three Times Halloween Funjob":
-->'''Coach Z:''' Trick 'er trort!
-->'''Bubs:''' ''Come on'', man...
-->'''Coach Z:''' Okay, trick 'er treat...
** Then, in the same scene, if given a packet of Swedish Fish:
--->'''Coach Z:''' Ooh, the Swordish Forsh!
--->'''Bubs:''' What did I just tell you?
--->'''Coach Z:''' Cut me some slack! It's a crowd pleaser.
** It's speculated, in fact, that his accent may be entirely his own, as mentioned in "Fall Float Parade", when they see a balloon that resembles Pom Pom:
--->'''Coach Z:''' It's the Pam Pam b'loon!\\
'''Marzipan:''' That's "Pom Pom balloon" for those of you who don't speak Coach Z.
* YourAnswerToEverything: His advice to Homestar is always "It's like a great sports play--you can't just rush into the score zone", regardless of whether it actually applies to the situation. This is even [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] in "The Best Decemberween Ever":
-->'''Coach Z:''' Buying a Decemberween present for Strong Bad is like a great sports play.\\
'''Homestar:''' ''(listlessly)'' Lemme guess: I can't just rush into the score zone.\\
'''Coach Z:''' Hey, that's right!\\
'''Homestar:''' ''(annoyed)'' Coach, that's your answer for ''everything''!
*** In later cartoons, Coach Z is fond of planning an attack by saying, "We should run the picket fence at 'em!"

!!The King of Town
[[quoteright:221:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kot_3377.PNG]]
->''Now, despite rumors to the contrary, I did not just buy a crown at the costume palace and ask people to start calling me the King of Town. I earned my title the same way I earned a free combo meal: by purchasing one of equal or lesser value. [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial I also did not ever try to eat my own mustache]].''
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/HomestarRunnerMarshmallowsLastStand Marshamallow's Last Stand]]"''

The self-proclaimed ruler of Free Country, USA, who's really just a fat, gluttonous old man who happens to have a crown, a castle, a retainer of servants, and a painful awareness of how unpopular he is with the other characters. He's tried to make himself more popular, with limited success, by doing things such as learning to play guitar and trying to get his very own quite popular cartoon show.

* AuthorityInNameOnly: Former TropeNamer.
* BigEater
* ButtMonkey: Nobody likes him except for his loyal servants.
* ADayInTheLimelight: [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/kotpopshow.html The King of Town's Very Own Quite Popular Cartoon Show]]
* DoesNotLikeSpam: The only things he won't eat are peas and [[ToiletHumor "whatsit"]].
** Then again, in the Fan Clubs sbemail easter egg...
-->'''Strong Bad:''' ''"I can't believe I ate that whole pile of whatsit!"'' said the King of Town.
-->'''King of Town:''' I wish that ''were'' fiction...
* EmbarrassingMiddleName: His middle name is Wad. Both Strong Bad and Bubs made fun of him when they found out.
* ExtremeOmnivore: in sbemail #134, he inhales about five pounds of pure salt (''and'' a salt-shaker) like a vacuum, thereby obtaining the record for "Least Healthiest (Man?)".
* InvisibleAnatomy: Much like Homestar and Marzipan, he has no arms.
* IWasQuiteALooker: In the Strong Bad email "flashback", he is depicted as the "svelte, young Prince of Town", looking much slimmer and having a visible chin. Presumably he let himself go at some point later in life and became the morbidly obese King of Town we know today.
* JabbaTableManners: Among other examples, he eats cake batter straight out of the bowl and simply inhales a pile of salt.
* MasochistsMeal
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: He claims to be about 300 years old in "Which 'Ween Costumes?", and is implied to have been around for the first Decemberween in "A Decemberween Pageant".
* SatelliteCharacter: Most notably the Poopsmith, but also the rest of his retinue: the Blacksmith, the Hornblower, the Knight, the Cleric, and the Little Chef Guy.
* ShowWithinAShow: The above "Quite Popular Cartoon Show".

!!The Poopsmith
[[quoteright:220:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/psmith_7293.PNG]]
->''...''
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/HomestarRunnerMarshmallowsLastStand Marshamallow's Last Stand]]"''

The King of Town's most prominent (and disgusting) servant, the Poopsmith is an odd fellow who, as the name suggests, shovels whatsit for a living. Also, for some reason he has taken a vow of silence. According to Homestar, "The Poopsmith is a good guy. He's just got a crappy job."

* BewareTheNiceOnes: The Poopsmith is the King of Town's personal law enforcement agent.
* {{Nerd}}: Judging from his Halloween costumes, he seems to have a keen interest in science fiction and video games.
* ThePigpen: Considering his job, he always has some whatsit on his gloves.
* SatelliteCharacter: To the [=KoT=].
* TheSilentBob
* TalkingWithSigns: Despite the fact that he doesn't talk, he has, on rare occasion, used this to communicate.
* ToiletHumour: Basically all the humor that revolves around him either involves this or his unexplained vow of silence.
* TheVoiceless: He doesn't speak because he has taken a vow of silence, which seems to be a requirement for his job. [[spoiler: Until he broke that vow in [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemailtwohundred.html email thunder]], in which he finally sings. And he is voiced by [[TheyMightBeGiants John Linnell]].]]

!!Homsar
[[quoteright:180:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/180px-homsar_evolution_current_6605.png]]
->''I'm a song from TheSixties!''
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE2Homsar Email homsar]]"''

A short, pudgy fellow that vaguely resembles Homestar, and speaks in warbling non-sequiturs. He came to be when a fan e-mailing Strong Bad misspelled "Homestar". He's apparently capable of defying the laws of physics whenever he feels like it and is an even bigger Main/{{Cloudcuckoolander}} than anyone else in the cast (or maybe anyone else in the world).

* AscendedExtra: He was originally a one-off gag.
* ArmlessBiped
* BeamMeUpScotty: Homsar never claimed to have been raised by a cup of coffee. Strong Bad imagined that as being the sort of thing Homsar would say. However, it seems that Strong Bad was right.
* [[BroughtToYouByTheLetterS Brought to You by the Name "Homsar"]]
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Uhh, holy crap.
* TheDitz
* EloquentInMyNativeTongue: As seen in episode 2 of [=SBCG4AP=].
* [[spoiler:KilledOffForReal:]] Some fans think he was, thanks to the ending of A Decemberween Mackerel. Others think he isn't, and will [[spoiler:come back alive and well again eventually, especially if he was crushed by a Heavy Lourde once]].
** Considering the fact that [[ScheduleSlip the site's been dead for over four years]], [[spoiler:his fate seems uncertain.]]
* InvisibleAnatomy
* MagicalNativeAmerican: Is a parody of this in episode 2 of [=SBCG4AP=]. Despite still being voiced by Matt, he even somewhat sounds like [[KingOfTheHill John Redcorn]] for a few minutes of gameplay.
* NiceHat: Which moves in erratic patterns whenever Homsar speaks. It's even capable of shapeshifting.
* RealityWarper: One of his defining traits.
* RougeAnglesOfSatin: He owes ''his very existence'' to this trope.
* TalkativeLoon
* WordSalad: Almost everything he says constitutes as one, minus the things he says early on before Strong Bad drops the Heavy Lourde on him, implying the injury caused him to speak in word salads. He occasionally drifts back into sense-make, as seen in the sbemail "for kids":
-->'''Homsar''': That's a real popular song! Who wants to hear of it fifty times more?

!!WebAnimation/TeenGirlSquad
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE53Comic Email comic]]"''

A [[StylisticSuck badly-drawn]] comic made by Strong Bad. The main characters are 4 girls who only want one thing: Boys. Lots and lots of BOYS. However, more often than not, [[KillEmAll everybody dies]] before this is accomplished. See [[WebAnimation/TeenGirlSquad its own page]] for applicable tropes.

!!Old-Timey
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/old-timey_5172.PNG]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Fat Dudley, The Homestar Runner, and Old-Timey Marzipan]]
->Debut: ''"Kick the Can"''

The universe in the style of 1930's cartoons. As in the original children's book, Homestar is [[SpellMyNameWithAThe "The" Homestar Runner]]. The characters have to deal with [[TheGreatDepression economic hardship]] as well as the schemes of the Old-Timey Strong Bad. Other recurring characters include The Homestar Runner's friends Old-Timey Marzipan and Fat Dudley (Pom Pom), Strong Bad's lackeys The Sneak (The Cheat) and The Strong Man (Strong Mad), Sickly Sam (Strong Sad), the Fort Wayne Locomotive (Coach Z), Old-Timey Bubs, Mr. Shmallow (Marshie), and Rumble Red (probably Nebulon). Old-Timey versions of the other characters also show up in most episodes.

* AnachronismStew: Despite being set in the 1930s, there are also some references to eras before and after that period, such as, in the case of "Ballad of The Sneak", The Sneak doing [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hully_Gully the Hully Gully]], which was first introduced in 1959.
* AntiquatedLinguistics
* TheChewToy: Strong Sad's counterpart, Sickly Sam, possibly even more so than Strong Sad himself.
* CardCarryingVillain: Old-Timey Strong Bad, compared to his modern-day counterpart, is much more villainous.
* DastardlyWhiplash: Old-Timey Strong Bad.
* DeliberatelyMonochrome
* DemBones: As seen in "That A Ghost", the characters get so scared of the ghost in question that their skins all melt off, revealing their skeletons inside. Marzipan has bones in her pigtails, and Old-Timey Strong Bad has bones in his mustache and his shoes.
** Also, Sickly Sam has bony legs.
* HalloweenSpecial: "That A Ghost".
* LargeHam: Old-Timey Strong Bad.
* {{Retraux}}
* StylisticSuck: They have deliberately bad pacing and voice acting.

!!20X6
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/exty_2315.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Stinkoman, 1-Up, and Cheatball]]
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE57JapaneseCartoon Email Japanese cartoon]]"''

The {{Animesque}} 20X6 is the future where all the Homestar characters have Japanese cartoon versions of themselves. Here, everyone seems to be obsessed with challenging, especially Stinkoman (Strong Bad). There is currently a [[VideoGame/Stinkoman20X6 game]], in which Level 10 has been in the works for... a while now...

* CallingYourAttacks: [[LargeHam DOUBLE DEUUUUUUUCE!!!]]
* CatchPhrase: Stinkoman screams: DOUBLE DEUUUUUUUCE!!! Also do you happen to be ASKING FOR A CHALLENGE?!?!?!?!?!?
* CloudCuckooLander: Stinkoman has no comprehension of anything beyond challenge-n-fighting.
--> '''Stinkoman:''' ''Oh man,'' those first 400 bites of dirt were not so good. ''Maybe'' the next one will be ''better''.\\
''(reaches his hand into ground and bumps against something in it)''\\
'''Stinkoman:''' ''What'' is this? Some sort of a challenge buried in the ''GROUND''?
* DeadUnicornTrope: 20X6's "anime" spoofs are more reminiscent of '80s/early '90s video games than anything.
** FridgeBrilliance: In-universe, it was created by Strong Bad, whose knowledge of anime is limited to having seen one once. On the other hand, he is ''quite'' knowledgeable on the subject of [[PacManFever 80's/early 90's video games]]...
* JustAKid: 1-Up. Maybe when he's older...
* LargeHam: Stinkoman.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: Stinkoman likes to dish this out.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Cheatball.
* VolumetricMouth: Practically ''everyone'' when speaking. The only real exception is the Cheatball. [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] by Strong Bad, when describing Stinkoman:
-->"Then there's my mouth. Real tiny when it's closed; ridiculously huge when it's open."
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Stinkoman, the TropeNamer.

->Debut: ''"Cheat Commandos"''

An AffectionateParody on GIJoe and other merchandise-driven cartoons from TheEighties. Every character (not counting the voice actors and A. Chimendez) resembles The Cheat.
* ArtisticLicenseGunSafety: The crew play with a new bulletproof vest they got by shooting each other with Gunhaver's gun. Later Admiral Flashfight is killed because everyone thought he was wearing the vest.
* BigShutUp: In "Comamndos In the Classroom", one of the "pro-positive life tools" Gunhaver gives to Reynold is "envision [his] inapprorpriate-ors as giant slices of pizza". In an Easter egg, some Blue Laser foot soldiers are dressed up like pizza slices:
-->'''Blue Laser minion:''' ''(to Blue Laser Commander)'' Um, I'm not entirely sure this is what they were talking about, sir.\\
'''Blue Laser Commander:''' SHUT IT! Pizza can't talk!
* TheChewToy: Reynold
* TheChick: [=FoxFace=] and New Bad Guy Girl Character
* {{Crossover}}: WebAnimation/TeenGirlSquad episode 7 in an Easter Egg.

* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: New Bad Guy Girl Character
* [[spoiler:FaceHeelTurn]]: During the "2-Part Episode", Reynold is so disgruntled by the Commandos' treatment of him [[spoiler:that he joins forces with Blue Laser as Scrawn Job.]]
* FamilyFriendlyFirearms: Played with. The two factions use laser weapons and play this trope straight (Blue Laser's name even deriving from it), but Gunhaver carries a real pistol. See ArtisticLicenseGunSafety above.
* FightingClown: A literal example with Fudgeclank of the Topplegangers.
* MonsterClown: Face Clay
* NoIndoorVoice: Blue Laser Commander
* OnlySaneMan: Flashfight
* TheOtherDarrin: In-Universe Example. Gunhaver's voice actor, Crack Stuntman, is temporarily fired due to "contractual mumbo-jumbo".
** Crack tries to take over the role of Crackotage at one point.
* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: As an evil league of violence, Blue Laser naturally has several plans for world domination. However, the toons seen never actually show them carrying out such plans.
* RealLifeWritesThePlot: New Bad Guy Girl Character is added to the show simply because Crack wanted his girlfriend to be able to play a character.
* RedShirt: The Green Helmets

*** In an Easter egg in the toon where the above line of dialog is said, there is another exchange between Silent Rip and Crackotage:
--->'''Silent Rip:''' Aw, you can do it. Try another one.\\

->Debut: ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE72CrazyCartoon Email crazy cartoon]]"''

When Strong Bad is challenged by a viewer to make "[his] craziest cartoon", the result is something so bizarre even he doesn't understand it. ''Sweet Cuppin' Cakes'' is apparently about a half-cow/half-helicopter creature who tries to get a little worm out of the ground, and a wheelchair (voiced by Bubs) who chases a talking trapezoid named Eh! Steve... but who can tell? Strong Bad himself is also a character, except his head is an old keyboard that plays the demo music when he gets angry.

* AllThereInTheManual: Sherlock--the cowcopter--is never named in any of the videos on the site, but on one of the [=DVDs=].
* BrooklynRage: The Wheelchair is apparently from Brooklyn judging by the way he pronounces "boiled" ("burled"). He's also pretty angry.
* CatchPhrase: Eh! Steve's is "Eh! Steve."
* CelebrityVoiceActor: Parodied with the Wheelchair, who is "voiced by" Bubs.
* CloudCuckooLand
* DerangedAnimation
* EyesAlwaysShut: Sherlock.
* MindScrew: Even its creator doesn't understand a lick of it.
* NonIndicativeTitle
* SitcomArchnemesis: The Wheelchair to Eh! Steve. Or vice versa. Hard to tell.

[[caption-width-right:350:Dangeresque and his sidekick Reynaldo]]
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE80StuntDouble Email stunt double]]"''

A character played by Strong Bad in a trilogy of home movies produced, written, directed, and starring himself. He's a private and/or police detective who doesn't play by the rules, aided by his sidekicks Reynaldo (played by Coach Z) and Dangeresque, Too? (played by Homestar). The rest of the cast play various supporting roles, and Strong Sad plays pretty much everyone's beleaguered stunt double, mostly against his will.

* AccidentalMisnaming: Baron Darin Diamonocle gets everyone's names wrong--for instance, "Dangerskew" and "Perdukey".
* ActingForTwo: Marzipan, Strong Sad, and [[spoiler:Homestar]] in ''Dangeresque 3''. Several characters also play different roles between episodes.

* DistressedDamsel: Dangeresque's maybe-girlfriend, Cutesy Buttons (played by Marzipan).
* DistressedDude: Reynaldo in "Dangeresque 3".
* TheDragon: Killingyouguy plays this role to Perducci.

!!Strong Bad's Computers
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE1SomeKindaRobot Email some kinda robot]]"'' (Tandy 400), ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE41Invisibility Email invisibility]]"'' (Compy 386), ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE119Animal Email animal]]"'' (Lappy 486), ''"Compy Catalog"'' (Compé)

All of Strong Bad's ancient computers seems to have their own minds, and they all seem to hold grudges. Although the deaths of the Lappy and Tandy [[{{Bathos}} didn't bother him much]], the Compy being shot affected him greatly. He started off with the green-screened Tandy 400, [[StuffBlowingUp until it blew up,]], then moved to the Compy 386, which was shot by Bubs after getting infected by over 400,000 computer viruses, and then the Lappy 486, which Strong Bad [[RunningGag blew up.]] He now uses the Compé.

* AnachronismStew: With the exception of the Compé, Strong Bad uses old style command prompt computers.
* DiscoDan: Strong Bad's first state of the art computer had ''two contrast knobs!'' His first laptop had ''five whole minutes'' of battery life and weighed ''an extremely portable forty two pounds!'' Strong Bad viewed them as the epitome of computing.
* JackassGenie: The Tandy sometimes ignores Strong Bad's orders fully. Other times, it takes advantage of his ExactWords (though during the instance described below, it was malfunctioning, having exploded (oddly enough) a few emails beforehand).
--> '''Strong Bad''': "Deleted!."
--> '''Tandy''': "Saved forever."
--> '''Strong Bad''': ''(sarcastically)'' Oh, that's great. Great, thank you. Yeah, go ahead and save that one, why don't you, yeah. So I can treasure it for years and years, and show it to my kids.
* RealityWarper: When the Compy is infected with a virus that infects reality.
* BackFromTheDead: The first and second computers.
** BackForTheDead: In [=SBEmail=] retirement, they demanded to have one more email checked on each of them. Strong Bad obliged, but in such a way that permanently destroyed both of them.

Two perspective altering printers and a pop up balloon. They usually appear at the end of an email to prompt an email to Strong Bad.

* KilledOffForReal: The Paper.
--> Strong Bad: "Why do all of my thirty year old electronics keep breaking on me?"
** BackFromTheDead: It surprisingly returns from the dead for the 200th email, only to accidentally get burned to a crisp once more by sparks flying off Homestar's short-circuiting Happy 8600. It has not been seen since.
* PerspectiveMagic
* ReplacementScrappy: In universe, Strong Bad sometimes lamented that the New Paper is worse than the Old Paper, as well as the Compeper, to New Paper.

!!The Goblin
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/HomestarRunnerHomestarloweenParty Homestarloween Party]]"''

An armless green critter who turns up most Halloweens, the Goblin looks around, does a dance, and disappears for another year. * ArmlessBiped
* [[spoiler:BigDamnHeroes: In ''Most In Graveyard''.]]
* TheCameo: In most of the Halloween cartoons, except "[[http://www.homestarrunner.com/ween08.html Most in the Graveyard]]", there he has a more important role.

* TheVoiceless

!!Homeschool Winner
->Debut: ''"Character Cards"''

A scrapped taller looking character resembling Homestar, only blue and with an overbite. He appeared once on a now hidden trading card animation, and in the background of the game Dancin' Bubs. Matt said in an interview that he was made after a friend thought their website was called "homeschoolwinner.com". They describe him as incredibly smart and more than a little creepy.

* ArmlessBiped
* {{Foil}}: Apparently for Homestar, judging by his name, his intelligence, and his pronounced overbite.
* OCStandIn

!!Limozeen
->''I got the heart of a lion and the wings of a bat--BECAUSE IT'S MIDNITE!''
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE16BandNames Email band names]]"'' (mentioned), ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE61MonsterTruck Email monster truck]]"'' (in-person)

The greatest hair metal band in the world (at least in Strong Bad's eyes), made up of brothers Larry (vocals), Gary (lead guitar), Perry (bass), and Mary (drums) Palaroncini. They sing songs about love and living in the fast lane, do gigs in Free Country USA and beyond, and have never quite left 1987. They had their own Saturday morning cartoon show in the '80s that was canceled before the first commercial break. Their manager is the nerdy Doug Teegland, and Strong Bad is their biggest fan.

* ActingForTwo: In their original appearance in a still photo, Matt Chapman played all four band members.
* AdaptationDecay: In-universe, ''Limozeen: But They're in Space!''
* AffectionateParody: Of real-life glam metal bands like Van Halen and Poison.
* BandToon: ''Limozeen: But They're in Space!''
* BigEater: Mary in the cartoon (a parody of Ray Stanz from ''TheRealGhostbusters'', who was inexplicably fat).
* CatchPhrase: From Doug Teegland, "I'm afraid I've got some bad news, boys."
* {{Defictionalization}}: They did two live tours in 2008, played by Matt Chapman (Larry) and the real-life band Y-O-U (everyone else).
* DumbAndDrummer: Mary in the cartoon.
* EndOfSeriesAwareness: "I'm afraid I've got some bad news, boys. Our pilot episode has been canceled!"
* FakeBand
* GenderBlenderName: Mary.
* GroupieBrigade: In ''But They're in Space!'', they're stalked by a horde of alien groupies.
* HotBlooded
* InkSuitActor: Doug Teegland basically ''is'' Mike Chapman.
* LargeHam: Larry. The rest are all pretty sedate.
* MyspeldRokband
* OneEpisodeWonder: Their cartoon.
* RealityBleed: They started off as a random band name thrown out by Strong Bad in one of his emails before becoming a full-fledged part of the universe.
* RecycledInSpace: Parodied by their cartoon, ''Limozeen: But They're in Space!''
* {{Scatting}}: Their song "Feed the Childrens" is nothing ''but'' scatting, much to Strong Bad's annoyance.
* VerbalTic: Larry ends most of his sentences with "-uh!"
* YouDontLookLikeYou: In the cartoon, Mary is unexplainably fat and red-haired.

!!Nebulon
->Debut: ''"Main Page 1"''

A little green alien who floats around in outer space. No one likes his style.

* AmusingAlien
* ArmlessBiped
* BatmanCanBreatheInSpace
* BizarreAlienBiology: He's mostly mouth and has no arms. Though compared to the likes of Marzipan or the Cheat, his anatomy is downright normal.
* ButtMonkey
* PhraseCatcher: "Get out of here, Nebulon! No one likes your style."
* TheVoiceless

!!Senor Cardgage
->''Cargeenan, Monteljohn, can you detect me to the nearest bus stamp?''
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE92KindOfCool Email kind of cool]]"''

An older, vaguely sleazy man who constantly uses nonsense-words. Strong Bad looks up to him; Marzipan looks down on him. While he lost the non-sequitur championship to Homsar, he's still not exactly known for his eloquence. He carries around a grocery bag full of melty candy bars that he eats loudly while standing to close to people.

* CloudCuckoolander
* CoolOldGuy: Strong Bad sees him as this.
* DirtyOldMan
* HonestJohnsDealership: [[LampshadeHanging At least he's aware of it:]]
--> '''Senor:''' ''(standing on a lawnmower)'' Why, hello, Miss Trela. Check out Senor Cardgage's Intregway. Dump Tell No Mandy — it's just a landmower moved bankways.
* {{Jerkass}}: At times, such as when he walked off with Strong Bad's football after promising to "hit him on the slant".
* {{Malaproper}}: His signature character trait is saying things that "aren't one word but aren't quite another."
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: He is this in some cartoons, such as when he is heard singing a creepy rhyme within a children's day care building with barbed wire and a ChalkOutline outside. Strong Sad also sees him as such, informing Strong Bad that he gave him nightmares. And despite his hero worship of the guy, Strong Bad himself bore witness to this in "hremail3184" when Senor Cardgage walked in place sans friction as disembodied traffic sounds echoed around him.
--> '''Strong Bad''': ...I'm quite scared right now.
* RamblingOldManMonologue: Constantly.
* SelfDeprecation: Possibly in "Senor Cardgage Mortgage" in one of his few coherent moments
--> Act now and see if you can stand to talk to me for more than four seconds!
* VagueAge: He's...older. Ish.
* WordSalad

!!Shark-Tooth Bubs
->Debut: ''"[[Recap/StrongBadEmailE104ThemePark Email theme park]]"''

An alternate version of Bubs with two dot eyes, a set of fangs, and a unicorn-type horn coming out of his head. Unlike most of the H*R cast, he's voiced by Mike instead of Matt. Like the regular Bubs, he runs (or claims to run) a concession stand (in his case, called "Eight Burgers"). As with most of Mike's characters, his appearances are few and far-between. With the exception of his debut in ''Theme Park'', he has only appeared as a puppet or as a voice on the DVD commentaries.

Looks and name aside, his personality is only marginally similar to his better-known counterpart. Think of a ''slightly'' more articulate version of Homsar or Senor Cardgage and you're probably on the right track.

The brothers came up with the character after a Chinese toy designer sent them prototype plush toys of some of the characters. They were very amused at how the designer misinterpreted Bubs's eyes and mouth and decided to work him into one of their upcoming cartoons (The ''Theme Park'' email). They initially put him in a cartoon as an AffectionateParody of unlicensed toys. However, every appearance since then has been as a character (complete with spoken lines) as opposed to just being a prop.

* AscendedExtra: Not much of one, but considering that his first appearance was as a mere prop...
* CloudCuckooLander: just listen to him on ''Puppets on the Road'' on the 4th Strong Bad Email DVD or on the DVD commentary for ''Long Pants''.
* JiveTurkey
* [[spoiler:TheManBehindTheMan:]] ''The Curly-Fried Caper''
* NothingPersonal: "Sorry Piles, I've got my own styles."
* RousingSpeech: "Heaven help us! Let us rest in the wake of the hours beneath! For tomorrow is a grand style! Courageously affording the brothers of our...Lester Brothers."

* RunningGag: In ''Puppets on the Road'', while in Philadelphia, he keeps referring to "the chicken man", a Philadelphia-based crime boss.
* TurnCoat: Appatently, he doesn't care ''who'' owns the pile, so long as he gets to be "pile manager".

A stick-figure dragon with one beefy arm drawn by Strong Bad when a fan asked him to show his "skills of an artist", Trogdor is a monster who comes in the night, burninates all the people who live in thatch-roofed cottages, and generally terrorizes the land of Peasantry. Created as a one-off joke, Trogdor proved immensely popular thanks to his rocking metal theme song and soon starred in his own video game, and the legend grew from there. A full-length text-based AdventureGame, ''VideoGame/PeasantsQuest'', introduced the heroic peasant Rather Dashing, who will stop at nothing (sans burnination) to stop Trogdor.

* CreatorBacklash: From Strong Bad in "[[http://www.homestarrunner.com/trogday08.html Trogday 08]]".
-->''"You internet types ruined Trogdor! Just like you did zombies, pirates, ninjas, and Strong Bad! Er, wait, no. Yeah!"''
* HeavyMithril: His theme song.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: For starters, he has sticks for legs, tiny wings, disembodied eyebrows, and one big beefy arm sticking out the back of his neck.
* PerfectlyCromulentWord: "Burninate".
* TheRedBaron: "The Burninator", "the Wingaling Dragon", etc.
* ThrowItIn: The small "i" in his official all-caps name is there because that's what the capital "I" of the font the Brothers Chaps used looked like, making it funny enough to keep.
