!Flander's Company

A Company in charge with recruiting, teaching, training and eventually assigning supervillains to superheroes. The supervillains formed by the company [[PunchClockVillain follow a strict set of rules by fighting superheroes according to a plan that end up with them losing in exchange for being paid]].

[[folder:In General]]
* AcademyOfEvil
* [[CardCarryingVillain Card-Carrying Villains]]: It says something that their motto is "We do evil, and we do it good."
* ContractualGenreBlindness: Part of the rules they are supposed to follow, since their business requires to always let the good guys win.
* {{Punch Clock Villain}}s: The whole point of the organisation; though a lot of them are indeed sociopathic, they treat being evil as a job and nothing else.
* PragmaticVillainy: The reason behind the Company's existence; as explained in the series, it has been created after heroes and villains alike realized how dangerous for the supers' population it was to slaughter each other without any rules. Villains agreed it was more profitable to them to play as villains for money in exchange of letting the good guys always win.
* WeirdTradeUnion: A company trading supervillains.

[[folder:Armand Trueman]]
!!Armand Trueman
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/carte-trueman_3081.jpg]]

The young, charismatic, cunning director of the Flander's Company.

* AffablyEvil
* AllYourPowersCombined: [[spoiler:Temporarily, thanks to the SuperSerum.]]
* BadassNormal: {{Deconstructed}}. Even though he is more than able to make up for his lack of power by his intelligence, he doesn't take well to be a muggle in a business where almost everyone has powers. As a result, reminding him he doesn't have one often serves as his BerserkButton.
* BerserkButton: Aside from the problem mentioned above, Caleb has an incredible gift for making him lose his cool.
* BishieSparkle: Quite frequent, and even weaponized against Jocelyn.
* TheCharmer
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Played with. He does indeed display traits of this, but he pretty much makes a rule of always satisfying his clients.
* DiabolicalMastermind: His main way to compensate his lack of powers (with his [[TheCharmer Charisma]]).
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He might lead a supervillain company, but he truly cares about his niece Cindy. And his brother, and other niece Gladys, to an extent too.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: Even Igor seems to admire him.
* EverythingsBetterWithSparkles: Often parodied to insist on how awesome he is.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Literally. He once admitted he couldn't clearly understand the concept of saving the widow and the orphan.
* EvilLaugh: He can indulge into this, along with full-on [[Film/AustinPowers Dr. Evil]] mannerisms.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: [[spoiler:Temporarily, at the end of season 3 and season 4.]]
* FamilyValuesVillain
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler:Debatably his situation with Carla at the series' end.]]
* IJustWantToBeSpecial
* MeanBoss: He is quite abusive to everyone in his company, willing to force them to work longer, insult them and sometimes threaten them with weapons. Caleb actually hates him for this reason. Still, he is rather moderate compared to ''other'' mean bosses in this series.
* PowerEchoes: [[spoiler:When under the effect of the SuperSerum, his voice gets a nice reverb to it.]]

[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/news_illustre_1362070739_548_3543.jpg]]

The Human Resource Manager at Flander's.

* BerserkButton: Well, technically, [[HairTriggerTemper everything makes him angry]], but Kevin has the gift to piss him off ''even more than usual''.
* BigEntrance: This is part of what he teaches to supervillains.
* BondageIsBad: Well, Sadoman sure isn't a heroic figure...
* CallingYourAttacks:
** "TITS ON FIRE!"
** "COSMIC FIST!"
* CatchPhrase: "Suivant !" ("Next!")
* CombatPragmatist: Hippolyte hardly relies solely on his superpowers to fight. He keeps a couple of firearms under his desk and has absolutely no qualms about using them. He once beats up Kevin with a branch; before that, he threatens to use Caleb's Nuclear Gun on the same nuisance; at yet another time, he throws a shuriken into Kevin's face. Likewise, in the alternate universe, he throws his counterpart's magic wand to kill a Choriste. Plus, [[ManBitesMan he bites]].
* CombatSadomasochist: Literally, as Sadoman. His power allow him to convert pain (both his and others) into pure energy he can use to fight.
* DramaQueen: Hippolyte can easily go into overreacting heights. He's called on it once by his co-workers (when faking a cardiac arrest after learning the whole supervillain database had crashed) but he responds without shame that when things are that bad he's fully entitled to be a Drama Queen.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: When in civilian attire.
* GratuitousGerman: During his HeroicBSOD against his sister, during the second season episode of the filming of a video clip.
* HairTriggerTemper: To be fair, you'd be like this too if your job was to spend all day interviewing supervillain wannabes with ridiculously lame powers while expecting the new Dr. Doom to show up.
* {{Jerkass}}
* LargeHam: Probably the biggest ham in the whole series. And that's something.
* RetiredBadass
* HandBlast: When charged enough with pain.
* HeroicComedicSociopath: Though the "heroic" part is debatable.
* NumberTwo: Unlike Caleb, he has Mr. Trueman's full trust and is the second most important person in the company. He's the one to welcome important clients when Trueman isn't disponible.
* OddFriendship: With Caleb.
* SlasherSmile: He doesn't smile often, but when he does... it's this.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist
* {{Workaholic}}: Much in contrast with Caleb's lazy tendencies, Hippolyte ''loves'' his job. Going back to work after almost losing his job is one of the few things that can actually make him cheerful and happy.

[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/carte-caleb_3383.jpg]]

The Research & Development Manager and resident scientist of the Flander's Company.

* AffablyEvil: He has nothing against heroes, and whenever he is seen meeting some of them, he is quite affable. He is even shown talking with [[ComicBook/CaptainAmerica Captain Amerloque]] like if they were buddies in one episode.
* BadassFingerSnap: To create doubles.
* BerserkButton: Never mess with his coffee.
* {{BFG}}: His Nuclear Gun.
* BrilliantButLazy: Whenever he is taking himself seriously, he is actually quite competent and can come up with good inventions. Sadly, he is incredibly lazy, resulting in him mostly passing his time drinking coffee or causing explosions.
* DoppelgangerAttack: With his doubles.
* DoppelgangerSpin: He tries this against [[SuperSpeed Alternate Armand]], but it doesn't work.
* {{Geek}}: In every sense of the term.
* HeterosexualLifePartner: With Hippolyte.
* LabcoatOfScienceAndMedicine
* MadScientist: Big time.
* NerdGlasses
* OddFriendship
** With Hippolyte; they are pretty much the opposite of each other in personality, but they are best friends.
** Also apparently with Captain Amerloque.
* OpaqueNerdGlasses: When in [[spoiler:Professor Kaos mode]].
* SelfDuplication: One side of his superpowers. He can create temporary clones of himself by manipulating space and time, both for fighting and more mundane tasks.
* SuperPowerLottery: He certainly has among the most powerful and useful superpowers of the lot.
* {{Teleportation}}: The other side of his superpowers. It's short-ranged unless he loses control, [[spoiler:like that one time he ended up in Egypt]], or receives a boost [[spoiler:with a machine and lots of coffee to move the whole Flander's building]]. He can also combines the power of several clones, [[spoiler:for example sending Alternate Armand to Japan in the season 4 finale]].

[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/carte-cindy_3753.jpg]]

Mr. Trueman's niece, a teenage barbarian with an axe.

* AbsurdlySharpBlade: Her axe seems able to cut ''everything'', from flesh to steel or stone. Justified at least starting with season 3, where she is offered an adamantium axe.
%%zce* BarbarianHeroine: Inverted as she's a villainess.
* BattleCry: "BOUCHERIE !" ("SLAUGHTER!")
* BelligerentSexualTension
** Damien once invoked this trope by strongly hinting there was one between her and Caleb. While the animosity between the two has often been used as a running gag, it has never been confirmed there was anything beside dislike between them (though you got to wonder how she is able to say the size of his penis in "''Once Again with Devil''"). In season 4, she describes their relationship as a "''Hate-Hate relationship''" to Alternate Caleb.
** [[spoiler:It's revealed in season 4 finale that she has a crush on the alternate version of Caleb, though she cannot spit it out. The epilogue of season 4 suggests she might start developing feelings for her Universe's Caleb, but this is not followed up in season 5.]]
* BerserkButton: Not that she really needs one, being volatile enough already, but putting her into girly clothes makes the ensuing slaughter a ''very sure thing''.
* BookDumb: She is not ''completely'' dumb, but she still lacks any understanding of maths and complex schemes.
* BraidsOfAction
* CelibateHeroine: InvertedTrope as she's a villainess. She also appears to be extremely disgusted at the idea of getting a boyfriend, and rejects Trucidator when he attempts to make advances on her.
* CoolBigSis: Gladys sees her as one.
* CuteBruiser
* DarkActionGirl
* DeadpanSnarker
* DrillSergeantNasty: Her attitude when training the Mooks. Partially deconstructed in that she does it to such a degree that most of them end up either dead or exhausted.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: She truly cares about her uncle, and is infuriated when the C.C Corporation fires him. Also, despite her father constantly embarrassing her and being significantly weaker than her, she always acts respectful toward him.
* HatesBeingTouched
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: She acts as ShipperOnDeck to Alternate Hippolyte in his attempt to seduce mainstream Carla, but she is fully aware he doesn't stand a chance, and only does it because she finds it hilarious to see him being rejected.
* KnuckleCracking
* LittleMissBadass
* LittleMissSnarker: When not busy making threats, she's quite sarcastic.
* MadeOfIron
* SuperStrength
* SwordBeam: Well, Axe Beam.
* {{Tomboy}}
* [[spoiler:{{Tsundere}} / CannotSpitItOut: She has feelings for Alternate Caleb, but the best she could do about it was to kiss him then insist that this didn't mean she liked him when he left.]]

* JerkWithAHeartofJerk: She is first seen mourning about her son's death, hinting that EvenEvilHasLovedOnes... then she quickly reveals she is mourning because his death forces her to look sad so she can stay a VillainWithGoodPublicity, and complains that it's giving her wrinkles.

* CasanovaWannabe: At one point, he tried to get Carla and Nadège to rejoice in their victory with "alcohol and sex". They agreed for alcohol, but clearly rejected sex.

* AnimalMotifs: Butterfly. The song playing for his first appearance is titled "''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZFoM6qk2ck Papillon de lumière]]''" ("Butterfly made of light"); he seems to teleport within a cloud of light butterflies, and once wears a ridiculous butterfly costume.
* ArchEnemy: To Hippolyte.
* AscendedExtra: Like many characters, he was first introduced as one of the candidate to be supervillains. He came back in season 2, where he is recruited by the C.C as a way to force Hippolyte into demission.
* ButtMonkey: To Hippolyte essentially.
* CoolShades: Parodied.
* DirtyCoward: When captured by Aegis, he immediately gives away the new location of the Flander's Company Building rather than face torture.
* TheDitz
* FashionVictimVillain: Invoked several times as a constant running gag. His poor fashion sense has the gift to horrify Hippolyte, ''Déborah'' considers it bad, and, as Carla once put it, "his mere haircut is an invitation to murder".
* GolfClubbing
* InvoluntaryDance: His primary superpower.
* IronButtMonkey: See TheyKilledKenny.
* JokeCharacter
* LoudOfWar / ThePowerOfRock: Another of his superpowers. Backfires spectacularly the one time he tries to use it.
* ResurrectiveImmortality: The reason he is an IronButtMonkey; he can and does get killed several times, but has the ability to resurrect each time. Doesn't mean he is immune to the pain however.
* SissyVillain
* SuperZeroes
* TheyKilledKenny: {{Justified|Trope}}. It's explicitly mentionned he has the ability to resurrect after being killed. Hippolyte takes a sadistic pleasure in using this to [[ButtMonkey kill him as many times as possible]]. Despite this power, he constantly fears death. Nadège even calls him out about it in the season 4 finale, pointing out that he shouldn't care, since he always comes back.
%%* TransformationSequence
* ThrowTheDogABone: He finally, in the season 4 finale by defeating Alternate Hippolyte on his own, which he found quite cathartic (even if it wasn't the right Hippolyte).
* WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway: {{Played with}}. His main power (using his absurd dance to hypnotize people into dancing with him) sure isn't powerful, but it did allow him to give Hippolyte a hard time in the season 2 finale. He fails to be of any use against Aegis, but then again, we are talking about guys who were basically a bunch of {{God Mode Sue}}s.

!Aegis

A team of KnightTemplar {{Hero Antagonist}}s introduced in season 3 as the new major antagonist. When first introduced, they savagely destroy the C.C Corporation's installations for unknown reasons. Later, they start attacking and decimating supervillains everywhere, and it's revealed they are looking for the Flander's Company.

It's eventually revealed they are [[spoiler:formerly a small group of weak superheroes who, after helping Dr. Jean-Luc Shredder to escape the Flander's Company, ended up with one of their members gravely injured, forcing Dr. Shredder to use the others as guinea pigs to try to find a cure... using the Damien Project formula. Predictably, this ended up turning them into incredibly powerful superpowered psychopaths who want to destroy the Flander's Company and end the current system, which they believe is intolerable. They are eventually defeated through an alliance of the Flander's and the remains of the C.C Corporation.]]

[[folder:In General]]
* TheDreaded: Both the C.C. and the Flander's Company are scared ''shitless'' of them, and for good reason.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble:
** Pyro is the Sanguine
** Liam is the Choleric
** Mello is the Melancholic
** Silver is the Phlegmatic
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Started out as minor unknown superheroes with lame superpowers. Then turned into a KnightTemplar group with [[GodModeSue ridiculously strong powers]].
* HeroAntagonist: Though a KnightTemplar version of it.
* KickTheSonOfABitch: They killed [[spoiler:Chantal Connasse]]. No-one will blame them for this.
* KnightOfCerebus: They were taken surprisingly seriously for this show. The C.C. Corporation was just a corrupt group trying to take over the Company and had no known body count. Aegis attempted to destroy supervillains as a whole, and succeeded in killing 75 of them.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: The whole reason behind their motivation, with the KnightTemplar aspect.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: They are understandably disgusted by Superheroes working together with Supervillains for common profit and want to end this system. What they fail to realize is that this system is what prevent supers from just outright slaughtering each other.

[[folder:Liam Campbell]]
!!Liam Campbell

* BadassNormal: Apparently, this is what he was initially, since he had no known powers.
* CovertPervert: He appears as the most serious, strait-laced member of the team and displays no emotion, but Pyro once mentioned that the only thing that made her clothes interesting to him was when he stripped her of them.
* HandBlast
* HeroicBSOD: According to Professor Shredder, he went through one when Silver got injured in their backstory.
* KnightTemplar: Taken to the extreme in season 3 finale, where, [[spoiler:realizing the system he is trying to stop is required for Earth to stay, he attempts to ''destroy Earth''.]]
* TheLeader
* StandardizedLeader: Taken up to eleven; he apparently had no power until his exposure to Shredder's formula.
* [[spoiler:TakingYouWithMe: When he realizes Trueman is completely overpowering him and the system can't be ended without disastrous consequences, he tries to blow up the whole planet along with him. Trueman manages to stop him by teleporting him on the moon.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: When [[spoiler:he finds out Pyro got killed.]] And it's scary.

[[folder:Isis Pyro]]
!!Isis Pyro

* AxeCrazy: She seems to be the one whose personality was altered the most by the formula, resulting in her laughing insanely when fighting, shooting almost everything in sight and taking a sadistic pleasure in killing her opponents. She even appeared disappointed when Kevin agreed to talk without being tortured first.
* BloodKnight
* DumbBlonde: Invoked by Mello.
* DeadpanSnarker: Toward Silver.
* FashionVictimVillain: {{Invoked}}; she is described by Hippolyte as a "Godzilla ''à la'' Drag Queen".
* JerkAss: She constantly acts obnoxious toward Silver for the sake of it.
* LoveInterest: to Liam.
* NighInvulnerable: [[spoiler:Damian]]'s mental blast only gives her a ''nosebleed''. [[spoiler:It eventually takes a ''supernova'' combined with Carla's temporarly increased powers to kill her.]]
* PyroManiac
* SensualSpandex: Chantal Connasse calls her out on this, since Lycra had been out of mode since ''Film/{{Flashdance}}''.

* BewareTheQuietOnes: She appears to be the least crazy of the group... until Hitomi actually pissed her off.
-->'''Pyro''' (to Liam): Okaaaaaaaaay... so actually, I ''really'' should stop annoying your sister.
* {{Expy}}: Possibly of Jean Grey. She even has a scene where she and Maxence parody ''[[Film/XMenTheLastStand X-Men 3]]''.
* PsychicPowers:
** MindOverMatter
** {{Seers}}: Though according to Pyro, her predictions tend to be unreliable.
** {{Telepathy}}
* TheStoic

* ConsultingMisterPuppet: He sometimes talks to his Joker skull-headed scepter.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He acts cowardly and keeps goofing around, but when acting seriously, he is as dangerous as his teammates.
* DeadpanSnarker: Especially when it comes to his attitude with Pyro.
* GravityMaster: According to the C.C's datas, he could initially only "slightly change gravity". Now however...
* VillainousHarlequin: The way he dresses, though with a black-and-white theme rather than garish colors.

!Brotherhood of Shadows

A congregation of big-name {{Supervillain}}s that works to maintain the hero/villain status quo instituted 30 years ago by Oswald Trueman. They gather on a satellite in low Earth orbit, either through holographic video conferences or in person. The Brotherhood members spend more time bickering than being efficient, though.

* KillSat: His ship is one, with enough precision for a head shot.
* LawyerFriendlyCameo: Of Doctor Doom.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: His name varies in the credits, from Fatalouze to Fataloose.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Fittingly; he's directly responsible for [[spoiler:Reed Richard snapping and opening the interdimensional rift]].
* VillainousBreakdown: Uncharacteristically, he's having one from the moment he's introduced -- that's why he's consulting Dr. Parker. He's had enough of the status quo, and especially of being unable to kill any of his superhero enemies for good.

!Alternate Flander's Company

[[folder:In General]]
* GoodCounterpart: To the mainstream Flander's Company, literally. Though arguable (see above).
* GoodIsNotNice: It's strongly implied this version of the Flander's Company, despite being heroes, is quite sinister behind the scenes. Plus, Georges Trueman is a businessman and only offers his services to those who can actually pay, which doesn't include Africa.
* HeroesRUs: {{Deconstruct|ion}}ed; while the superheroes created by this Flander's ''do'' protect people, the commercial nature of the company allows them to help only those who can pay the price. [[spoiler:Even worst, they are injected with MindControl nanites to ensure they obey orders and sent on actually violent missions. [[{{Reconstruction}} The season 4 finale reveals they got better thanks to Trueman's advice]].]]
* MirrorUniverse: Not necessarily or solely along the good-evil axis (both being muddled in a series with mainly {{Villain Protagonist}}s), but all alternate counterparts are ''very'' different from the characters of the original universe.
* ShoutOut: Their reality had to create a superhero-producing company after all the actual superheroes were wiped out by [[ComicBook/SupermanRedSon a Communist version of Superman]].

* BigBadEnsemble: [[spoiler:Is revealed in the season 4 finale to be part of it, sharing the role with Damien and the Chorist.]]

[[folder:Alternate Caleb]]
!!Alternate Caleb/Über Caleb

* AntiHero: He is ''far'' saner than anyone in the original Flander's universe, but he still displays shades of it; when temporarly working with Cindy as a villain, and learning the rules villains go by in this universe, he suggests that, since they can't kill [[ComicBook/SpiderMan Mary Jane Watson]] according to the contract, they might just break her a bone or two to make it look more realistic. This causes Cindy to express disbelief about Caleb being a hero despite such a mentality.

!!Dr. Jean-Luc Shredder

A scientist who used to work for the Flander's Company, and took a major part in the Damien Project.

* TheAtoner: Toned down, but he does express guilt for accidentally unleashing a bunch of KnightTemplar GodModeSue Heroes on the Flander's Company.
* ChekhovsGunman: He is first introduced in the season 2 finale on a video left behind to explain the Damien project, should the company need it. Season 3 has him showing up for real and being responsible for "creating" Aegis.
%%* EyepatchOfPower
* LabcoatOfScienceAndMedicine
* MadScientist: Played with; he actually is a fairly reasonable scientist at the first look, polite and perfectly willing to help the Flander's stop Aegis when they find him. On the other hand, he is not above experimenting dangerous formulas on animals or humans, and his inventions tend to backfire a lot.
* MrExposition: This is how he is first introduced, and generally the main role he plays in all his appearances.
* OnlySaneMan: When working for Aegis; he decides to help the Flander's Company because, unlike Liam and his teammates, he does realize that destroying the current system of cooperation between villains and heroes isn't a good idea.

An army of female zombies from an AlternateUniverse where they have almost eradicated humanity. Following the temporal paradox caused by the interactions between the two versions of the Flander's Company, several breaches open between the worlds, allowing them to reach the two worlds and attack it from everywhere. As a result, they serve as the main villains for most of the season, [[spoiler:until the finale at least]].

* BigBadEnsemble: Arguably the main villains of season 4 [[spoiler:with alternate George and Damien.]]

* GoneHorriblyWrong: [[spoiler:They were created after several singers agreed to use a recent genetic method to procreate through autofecundation. As you guess, it didn't exactly turned out well.]]
* MakeMeWannaShout: Their main form of attack.
* {{Mooks}}
* [[StringyHairedGhostGirl Stringy-Haired Ghost Girls]]
* ZergRush: They are relatively easy to kill if you consider most characters in the cast have superpowers, but they are so numerous that they can quickly overpower and exhaust their enemies. By the end of season 4, most of the protagonists can hardly keep up.
* ZombieApocalypse: An obvious parody of the trope.
