!!Prince Leif of Leonster
[[caption-width-right:250:''Prince of Leonster'']]
[[caption-width-right:250:[[labelnote:Click here to see Leif in ''Fire Emblem Heroes'']][[quoteright:235:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leif_heroes.png]][[/labelnote]]]]

The main character of the game. Son of Quan and Ethlyn and Prince of Leonster.

->'''Class:''' Lord\\
'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KenichiSuzumura (Japanese), Nicolas Roye (English) (''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes'')
* AccidentalHero: His quest to free all Thracia only begins because of him getting fed up with Raydrik's pursuit of him.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: The manga adaptation has Leif develop something of an inferiority complex towards his older cousin Seliph, whom he views as more powerful, wiser, and is generally very impressed by.
* AscendedExtra: In ''Videogame/FireEmblemGenealogyOfTheHolyWar,'' he was just another second-generation child unit, albeit one with a familial relation to the main character. This game turns him into a HeroOfAnotherStory.
* BestYearsOfYourLife: Growing up with Nanna, Mareeta, Othin, and Halvan, with Eyvel being a surrogate mother.
* CantCatchUp: He is brought down by both his mediocre base stats and relatively low growths. Its really easy to get him to level 20 thanks to the limited amount of units in the earlier maps, and his late arrival promotion bonus is mediocre. On the flip side, he provides support bonuses to a ''lot'' of members in the army, gets some nice support bonuses of his own from Nanna, and he's immune to getting fatigued.
* DiscOneNuke: If you give him the shield, life, and speed rings that you acquired during the first three chapters, Leif will become the strongest unit in the team during Manster, and is essentially a CrutchCharacter in his own right, thanks to the Resistance-hitting Light Sword, and is a capable unit up until his promotion. This is quite a solid investment, since you don't have access to your CrutchCharacter (except Eyvel for a very short time) and Manster is arguably the toughest part of the game.
* TheHero: Leif is the main Lord of the game. Like with all other Lords, if he dies, [[WeCannotGoOnWithoutYou the game ends.]]
%%* HumbleHero
* HeroicLineage: He's one of the few who's descended from two of the twelve Legendary Crusaders: he's a descendant of Noba on his father's side and of Baldur on his mother's. However, it was his sister Altena who inherited Quan's major Holy Blood, thus allowing her to wield the Gáe Bolg.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Has some self-worth problems, which are understandable considering his backstory.
* HideYourChildren: He and Nanna were able to avoid being found by the corrupted Grannvale Empire for at least a decade.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Trusting Raydrik in Chapter 3.
* ItsPersonalWithTheDragon: He loathes and wants to fight and kill Raydrik, not Veld, as he is unaware of the latter's involvement into the game's plot.
* JackOfAllStats: If not trained with scrolls.
* JustAKid: Raydrik considers him this.
* KidHero: Leads a revolution before hitting his 20's.
* KingIncognito: He's been forced to spend most of his life in hiding, because neither Travant nor Grannvale would be happy with the legitimate heir of the Manster District threatening their control of the Thracian peninsula.
* KingInTheMountain: Literally. He, Finn and Nanna had lived in hiding in a secluded coastal village situated between Manster and Thracia.
* LightEmUp: One of his starting swords, the Light Brand, casts light magic at enemies when used.
* ManInWhite: He's got entirely white armor.
* OfficialCouple: In keeping tradition with [[VideoGame/FireEmblemShadowDragon Shouzou]] [[VideoGame/FireEmblemGaiden Kaga's]] [[VideoGame/FireEmblemMysteryOfTheEmblem games]], the main Lord has a partner waiting for him; for Leif, it's Nanna, although he will only propose to her if she survives the game. This happens despite the fact that Leif can be married off to any of the other women from ''Genealogy's'' second generation in that game, although there he has the fastest love growth with Nanna anyway.
* PreMortemOneLiner: In ''Heroes''.
-->"I won't run anymore."
-->"Whatever it takes!"
-->"I'll take it back… all of it!"
-->"This is my fight!"
%%* AProtagonistShallLeadThem
%%* RebelLeader
%%* RebelPrince
* StumblingUponTheLostWizard: After many years, and despite having forgotten about him, he meets Asbel, now a Wind Mage again!
* SupportPower: Leif is one of the few characters with a leadership star (two once Dorias joins, [[spoiler:and back down to one once Dorias dies]]), and his support pool is also enormous, making him a staple of the army, especially if paired with the Monarch Sword.
* WarriorPrince: He's the prince of the fallen kingdom of Leonster, and with his blade, he's on the warpath to wrest control of it back from Travant.
* WeaponOfChoice: The Light Brand has three uses: 1. He can cast Light from a distance, dealing magic damage to any enemy; 2. He can use it to heal himself; and 3. It also gives him 10 extra luck.
* WeCannotGoOnWithoutYou: As with all other Fire Emblem protagonists, his death or capture results in a game over.
* YouKilledMyFather: ...and mother, and (he thinks at first) sister. This is his main beef with Travant, and he can certainly be the one to land the killing blow on him in ''Genealogy''.

[[caption-width-right:200:''Lance of Legend'']]
[[caption-width-right:200:[[labelnote:Click here to see Finn in ''Fire Emblem Heroes'']][[quoteright:185:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/finn_heroes.png]][[/labelnote]]]]

A Knight of Leonster who once served Quan and is Leif's guardian. Nintendo's old website also reveals that Finn is the father of Nanna, Leif's ActionGirlfriend.

->'''Class:''' Lance Knight\\
'''Voiced by:''' Creator/RyotaroOkiayu (Japanese), Robert Clotworthy (English) (''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes'')
* ActionHeroBabysitter: When Leif was still in baby sheets, Finn was both his parental figure and his bodyguard.
* AscendedExtra: From a mere secondary character to personal advisor and bodyguard to the story Hero.
* BladeOnAStick: Finn is a Lance Knight with the unique "Brave Lance" weapon.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Finn is forced to lose lances and switch to swords when dismounted, which is required during indoor chapters. This is downplayed a bit, as Finn is available from the first map, and has some time to train his sword rank.
* CrutchCharacter: He is as close as one can get to a Jeigan Archetype, if not for being unpromoted and his decent stats progression. While he is a decent unit in capturing and being viable, indoor maps weaken him as his sword rank is D and he is unable to equip his Brave Lance, reducing his luck and Miracle activation.
** He is also your best unit for capturing enemies because of his high movement, the build of cavaliers which is automatically 20, and the Brave Lance to reliably kill foes. Once indoors, however, you have to rely on someone else for capturing foes.
* DiscOneNuke: He has good base stats and his Brave Lance turns him into a good capturing unit and a deadly fighter during outdoor chapters. Plus he has a nice HP to boot to fight against the fatigue mechanic, and he has decent enough weapon rank to use some of the better swords during indoor chapters, AND he has a Leadership Star. The only reason he is not that good in late-game is because the late-game chapters are filled with Status Staves and Magic users, and even then he can contribute by having a Leadership Star.
* FragileSpeedster: His Miracle ability increases his evasion when he is low on health, and his personal weapon, the Brave Lance, allows him to Double Attack and increases his luck by 10. He also has a Leadership Star. Coupled with supports from Leif and Nanna (which increase his evasion further), he can be almost unkillable, even at base stats.
* TheLancer: To Leif (literally too, as his personal weapon is the overpowered "Brave Lance"). He's also the only character to be able to reach a 90% top chance to NEVER DIE whenever he is attacked by a lethal blow.
* OlderAndWiser: Has grown quite a bit from his ''Genealogy'' days.
* ParentalSubstitute: To Leif.
* PreMortemOneLiner: In ''Heroes''.
-->"I'll never back down!"
-->"This is my duty!"
-->"For my country!"
-->"I do not fear death."
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Lampshaded by Selphina and Leif. She reprimands him for being much colder than he used to be, but Leif later says he's just forgotten how to cry after all the shit that hit the fan.
* TeamDad: Finn is a father figure to Leif and Nanna.
* TooAwesomeToUse: Inverted. The Brave Lance is not usable within the final chapters due to it being indoors, and Finn not being able to use Lances dismounted. As such, it is recommended to use it up beforehand, which most players do.
* WeaponOfChoice: The Brave Lance, which gives him the ability to attack twice and also gives him an extra 10 luck, adding more chances of activating Miracle when in danger.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Quite literally.

!!Orsin (Osian, Othin)
[[caption-width-right:240:''Wild Axefighter'']]

A hot-blooded member of the Fiana's Freeblades. Best-friends with Halvan.

->'''Class:''' Axe Fighter
* AnAxeToGrind: He gets a unique one in the first map, the incredibly powerful Pugi!
* BoisterousBruiser: Hot-headed in contrast to Halvan.
* DiscOneNuke: Three words. Chapter 1 Pugi.
* InconsistentDub: In ''Awakening'', he is named Orsin. But in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes'' Choose Your Legends poll, he is renamed Osian.
* LightningBruiser: Unlike most Fighters in the series, he has high HP, acceptable defense, high STR, and an almost overkill based speed with a solid speed growth. Add in Wrath and Pugi and...
* SlapSlapKiss: With Tanya.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Halvan. Halvan's laidback and calm personality contrasts with Orsin's wild and hotheaded nature.
* WeaponOfChoice: The Pugi, an axe which is a combination of Hand Axe and a Killer Axe. Have fun.

[[caption-width-right:220:''Quiet Hero'']]

A calm and cool member of the Fiana's Freeblades. Best-friends with Orsin.

->'''Class:''' Axe Fighter
* ActionInitiative: He will always attack first because of his skill Vantage.
* ContinuityNod: He can acquire a Brave Axe from his sister, who claimed to get it from a woman near a lake.
* DiscOneNuke: He gets the Brave Axe, which is acquired in Chapter 1.
* LightningBruiser: Despite being a slightly worse Orsin (or maybe ''because'' he is a slightly worse Orsin), he is still one of the best characters in the game.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: He is essentially Orsin without Pugi and Vantage instead of Wrath, an overall worse growth than Orsin but relatively better base stats, and the Brave Axe is not a personal weapon, which means you can give it to Orsin as well. Still a good character in his own right.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Is kinda this with Orsin.

[[caption-width-right:230:''Goddess of Fiana'']]

Leader of the town of Fiana and its militia: Fiana's Freeblades. [[spoiler:Is actually Briggid of Jungby.]]

->'''Class:''' Swordmaster
* ActionMom: She is the surrogate mother to Maretta as well as Leif and Nanna. [[spoiler:She is also one for Patty and Febail.]]
* BadassDecay: She is not as useful as in chapter 1-5 once you get her back later.
* CrutchCharacter: She is very strong with her base stats, but she leaves very early for the rest of the game, and when you get her back, she is not as strong or useful.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: [[spoiler:As Briggid, she wore her RapunzelHair loose and with a MartialArtsHeadband. As Eyvel, her hair is shorter and in a ponytail.]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}: [[spoiler:The other five Deadlords in ''Thracia 776'' all share a class with the characters they're created from (or the second-tier class of said characters in the case of Canis and Porcus), but Draco is a ''Sniper'', not a Swordmaster.]]
* ForWantOfANail: [[spoiler:If you don't restore her? Have fun with the Deadlord Draco attacking you in the last chapter.]]
* LadyInRed: Eyvel wears an orange outfit; unlike many examples, it's not depicted as fanservice.
* LadyOfWar: Eyvel pretty much singlehandedly can solo the first few chapters of the game.
* MamaBear: Eyvel found young Mareeta locked inside a cage in a slave market; she was so pissed off to see a little girl subjected to slavery that she slaughtered all the traders and guards and promptly adopted her as her own.
* MissingMom: To Mareeta, Nanna, and Leif for almost the entire game.
* PlotArmor: [[spoiler:Until she is turned to stone in Chapter 5]], Eyvel cannot be killed. To this end, the game will cheat for you and make any attack that would kill her miss instead.
* ProperLady: She is much more conservative in how she behaves and dresses [[spoiler:in comparison to when she was Bridget]].
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: She is the leader of the small village where Nanna, Mareeta, and Leif live.
* SameCharacterButDifferent: Once she is back to the team, she is the same, but the main difference is that she is not as useful as before.
* TakenForGranite: [[spoiler:She's turned to stone in Chapter 5 and stays that way until Chapter 24x.]]
* TeamMom: For the group, specially Mareeta and Nanna.
* TraumaInducedAmnesia: [[spoiler:As said above, she's Princess Briggid of Jungby, but at some point she arrived to Fiana without any memories. Some years after the end of ''Thracia 776'', she recovers her memories and is reunited with the now adult Patty and Febail.]]
** Even more: [[spoiler:if you save her from being petrified and Finn is still alive, this triggers a conversation in which Finn ''does'' recognize her as Briggid and tells her so. However, Eyvel herself is still amnesiac and denies this]].

[[caption-width-right:245:''Ex-Brigand of Mount Violdrake'']]

The leader of the Mount Violdrake Bandits, albeit reformed thanks to Eyvel.

->'''Class:''' Warrior
* ActionDad: He's Tanya's father, and an axe-wielder to boot.
* TheAllegedBoss: Of the "Reformed Mount Violdrake Brigands", yet Gomez, his underling, pretty much leaps on him.
* AlmostDeadGuy: Him and his daughter Tanya almost would have died at the hands of Gomez if not for Leif and associates.
* BadassBeard: The sturdiest beard in Thracia.
* TheBeard: He sports a very manly one, plus the one "whom Marty [[{{Engrish}} is loved]]", according to the latter game's ending.
* BenevolentBoss: Treats the brigands below him fairly well and only uses them for defensive purposes.
* BoisterousBruiser: Dagdar is one of the strongest members of the group.
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: Has a weak spot for his daughter Tanya.
* CarpetOfVirility: The artwork shows that under the shirt he dons, there are a lot of hairs.
* CrutchCharacter: Another one: his growths are almost as bad as Eyvel's, but unlike Eyvel, he stays longer and is better able to capture units. His movement star can also come in handy in a pinch.
* DaChief: Of Reformed Brigands.
* AFatherToHisMen: Seen as this by his underlings. Also, his name is an obvious reference to the "Father Of All Gods" in Norrean Mythology.
* ForWantOfANail: [[spoiler:Careful! Don't skip chapter 8X or he'll become Deadlord Tigris.]]
* HeelFaceTurn: Years before the game starts, he forsook banditry after having been defeated by Eyvel in a duel.
* LargeAndInCharge: The headmaster to the Mount Violdrake Bandits, and he is very huge too.
* ManlyGay: The man that loved Marty.
* MayDecemberRomance: Dagdar is in his 40s while Marty is in his 20s.
* PapaWolf: Dagdar is extremely protective of his daughter Tanya.
* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: After meeting with Eyvel, Dagdar reformed the Violdrake bandits to not do any bandit activity, even though they're still called bandits. Unfortunately, the work Dagdar has put them to has proved fruitless thus far.
* QuicklyDemotedLeader: By his right-hand Gomez.
* RetiredMonster: Was a bandit in name and meaning, using brutal methods to oppress the weak, but since Eyvel arrived, both because he was stunned by her courage and because he was defeated in battle by her, he has since reformed along his band.
* ReformedCriminal: Dagdar was a bandit who was convinced by Eyvel to take a second chance and protect villages instead of raiding them.
* RetiredOutlaw: Dagdar and the Violdrakes used to be feared bandits. After meeting with Eyvel, Dagdar made the Violdrakes bandits InNameOnly.
* SculptedPhysique: He starts with a very high constitution and is an axe-user too.

[[caption-width-right:200:''Dagdar's Loving Daughter'']]

Dagdar's daughter. Quarrels with Orsin often.

->'''Class:''' Bow Fighter
* BabiesEverAfter: Her ending, where she marries the one she always picks a quarrel on.
%%* BoyishShortHair
%%* {{Bokukko}}
* ClingyJealousGirl: For all the tantrums shed toward Othin, it is obvious she has feelings for the guy.
%%* CuteBruiser
* DamselOutOfDistress: Even when surrounded by burly enemies, she fights neverthless.
* FarmersDaughter: Daughter to a retired bandit that is a farmer when not fighting to defend the surroundings.
* FemininityFailure: She looks female enough, but she bears a dock loader debaurd within.
* FragileSpeedster: Terrible defenses and cannot attack or counter attack in close range, but her good speed stat and growth, combined with the decent might of bows give her a strong niche.
%%* GirlyBruiser
%%* OneOfTheBoys
* RaisedByDudes: Her father Dagdar is a brigand and works with other brigands, so she's lived with men all of her life.
%%* {{Shorttank}}
* SmallGirlBigGun: If she is trained enough, she can use, despite her very low constition (if levelled without a specific bonus growth scroll), very heavy weaponry such as the Master Bow and the Great Bow.
%%* SpiritedYoungLady
* TheLadette: A lesser example, she still can act very girly around the likes of Orsin or her father, but otherwise she's very masculine.
* {{Tsundere}}: To Orsin.
* {{Tomboy}}: Kinda expected when you're RaisedByDudes.

[[caption-width-right:200:''The Man That Dagdar Loves''[[note]]Dagdar's Son[[/note]]]]

A member of the Mount Violdrake Bandits.

->'''Class:''' Brigand
* TheBigGuy: Marty has one of the largest constitutions in the game and is the go-to guy when heavy lifting is required.
* BanditMook: He's the first ''Fire Emblem'' unit to be of the Brigand class.
* BumblingSidekick: To Halvan[=/=]Othin when he can be recruited in chapter 8.
* DumbMuscle: Despite being incredibly strong, Marty is somewhat dense and timid.
* GentleGiant: Marty has one of the highest constitutions in the game and his ending even mentions his gentle nature.
* {{Gonk}}: His portrayal in the artwork is an average man, but his portrait is crosseyed and has a NonStandardCharacterDesign, looking directly towards the screen instead of at an angle.
* JokeCharacter: His bases, aside from his LuckStat and equal-with-a-higher-growth build, are ''far'' worse than [[CrutchCharacter Dagdar]], making him seem like he might end up being MagikarpPower. However, while he does have excellent build, HP, and solid-by-this-game's-standard's defense growths, the others are barely higher if at all. And when it's said that his bases are low, that's low as in ''nearly everything being a flat zero.'' His build growth ''could'' make for a wonderful capture-bot... If you could actually hit anything past the earlygame with him, let alone with reduced capture stats. Scrolls can make him NotCompletelyUseless, but then again they can do that for just about every character in theory. Ironically enough, Dagdar, with his good bases in a game with low stat caps and moving star [[OvershadowedByAwesome ends up being better overall]] (his comparatively low build growth could also hypothetically be addressed with scrolls!).
* ManlyGay: "The man whom Dagdar loved" -- a direct extract from the game ending.
* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: Though Marty is still called a bandit, he doesn't do any banditry anymore.
* StoneWall: Marty's defense, build, and HP are really, really good. On the flipside, his skill and speed are really, really poor. For starters, his skill and speed is a flat '''0'''.

[[caption-width-right:240:''Youth of Iss'']]

A Bow Fighter from the village of Iss. Joins the party when defending it from the Lifis Pirates.

->'''Class:''' Bow Fighter
* {{Bishonen}}: He's a very pretty man.
* GenericGuy: He's just a guy who joins to stop the pirates. He doesn't even get a word when the pirate he joined to stop becomes a member of Leif's army.
%%* NaiveNewcomer
* MageKiller: Magic power and magic resistance run on the same stat in this game, so his seemingly ill-suited growth rates for his class actually make him a good anti-magic unit. This does not stop him from being hated for the most part.
* PrettyBoy: If he has anything, it's that he's quite the looker.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair

[[caption-width-right:200:''Servant of God'']]

A priestess from the Free City of Tahra.

->'''Class:''' Priest
* AwesomeButImpractical: A variation. Despite being a WhiteMagicianGirl, her strength is comparable to Othin's. Of course, being a Priest, she can't actually use that strength for any purpose whatsoever.
%%* CrimeMagnet
%%* PluckyGirl
* ProperLady: Very softspoken, but with a will of iron.
* SwissArmyWeapon: Repair Staff allows you to repair any weapon to its base condition. Essentially, it's a weapon that can turn into any weapon in the game five times.
* UtilityPartyMember: Terrible fighting, excellent support.
* WeaponOfChoice: The Repair (Hammerne) staff, which restores the uses of any weapons and staves.
* WhiteMagicianGirl

[[caption-width-right:200:''Shy Thief'']]

The leader of a band of pirates who attacks villages on the coasts of eastern Thracia. A bit of a sleazeball.

->'''Class:''' Thief
* BanditClan: He leads one
* {{Bandito}}: Medieval, despicable form.
* ButtMonkey: When talking to Salem or Perne. Lifis [[KickTheSonOfABitch does deserve it though]].
* FamousAncestor: Only in the novelization of ''Thracia 776'', where after the war, Lifis sailed to another continent and changed his name to Adrah, eventually [[VideoGame/FireEmblemShadowDragonAndTheBladeOfLight founding the Kingdom of Archanea.]] Of course, since Lifis didn't improve much from Thracia, [[LaserGuidedKarma he's indirectly responsible for the hardships Archanea went through.]]
* FiveFingerDiscount: The best character at doing it if given the Neim scroll, so that his build will reach higher levels (20% growth on build is very good), possibly allowing the team to obtain free Magic Swords, High-End Magic Tomes, 2x Attack Weapons, and utility staffs.
* ForWantOfANail: [[spoiler:If you don't recruit him, or you get him killed? Have the Deadlord Porcus after you.]]
%%* FragileSpeedster

* {{Jerkass}}: Maybe he becomes a JerkWithAHeartOfGold later, maybe....
* {{Pirate}}: Definitely type 2 in the beginning. Though Lifis is not of the pirate class.
* PunchClockHero: He only helps you out because Leif probably would skewer him for his piracy otherwise.
* RapePillageAndBurn: You stop his men from doing this in the second chapter.
* StalkerWithACrush: Toward Safy.

* AnAxeToGrind: After class changing into a Hero, she is the first axe infantry unit to be female.
* BattleCouple: With Brighton, who she fights together with.
* {{Expy}}: She takes many cues from the previous female Hero [[VideoGame/FireEmblemGenealogyOfTheHolyWar Creidne]].
* FemininityFailure: Straight up with Tanya.
%%* RebelliousRebel
* {{Tomboy}}: Has a more masculine-looking appearance compared to the other female swordfighters, and is the only one that can promote to Hero, which is typically a male-only class, and is the 2nd one of only 9 females in the series to be able to use axes before ''Shadow Dragon'' introduced the reclass system.

[[caption-width-right:200:''Knight of Manster'']]

Another member of the Magi Squad, was formerly a Manster Knight before joining.

->'''Class:''' Axe Knight
* AnAxeToGrind: As an Axe Knight, he uses an axe on a horse. However, dismounting, and joining in a set of indoor chapters, means it will be a while before Brighton uses an Axe. Instead, he'll be using swords till he mounts up.
* BattleCouple: Implied with Machyua, as they marry in their endings.
* CrutchCharacter: He is ''the'' guy who keeps your team alive in Manster. Post-Manster, he is still solid, but not as necessary as before.
* DefectorFromDecadence: He was once a knight of Manster, but he deserted and joined [[LaResistance the Magi]] in order to change things for the better.
* MightyGlacier: Brighton has especially high HP and Build in exchange for speed. And with Wrath, he is really good at taking hits and dealing it in the opponent's turn.

* BladeOnAStick: He gains the use of Rank E Lances after promotion, making him one of the only 2 characters able to use Lances indoors.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Joins Leif because he saved his little brother from [[spoiler:the Child Hunts]].
* CantCatchUp: Once the Manster Arc finishes, he is a terrible unit to use in any of the following maps, and he doesn't even get '''Pavise''' (a skill that deflects any damage inflicted) once he is promoted.
* CrutchCharacter: He's quite essential in the Manster chapters, and is the only unit who can use axes during them. Of course, once the Manster Arc ends, his usefulness declines immediately due to terrain disadvantages and better characters being available.
* KryptoniteIsEverywhere: Even if he has uses in any chapter, many of the enemies use Hammers in the mid- and late-game.
* MightyGlacier: His defense and strength base stats and growths are quite high. However, his speed growth is low compared to the other characters, and he will deal with low movement unless he gets a very lucky level. Even with higher movement, there is still plenty of terrain Dalsin cannot cross.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: He was a soldier for Raydrik, but quit after his boss captured his little brother for the [[spoiler:the Child Hunts]].
* MultiMeleeMaster: After class changing into a General, Dalsin has access to all physical weapons. Unfortunately, his new weapon proficiencies all start off at Rank E.

!!Asbel (Asvel)

A mage from Frest and a friend of Leif. He joined the Magi and trained under Ced as a member of the Magi Squad.

->'''Class:''' Mage
* {{Bishonen}}: Asbel is a younger example; he's so gorgeous it's easy to mistake him for a girl.
* BlowYouAway: While Asbel can use [[PlayingWithFire fire]] and [[ShockAndAwe thunder]] magic, his highest weapon rank is Wind and he has a personal tome, Grafcalibur, which is powerful, light, and has a high critical rate.
* ChildhoodFriends: An old friend of Leif who was left behind when Tahra was invaded.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Like a female child.
* GlassCannon: Acceptable magic growth, massive speed growth, but he takes physical hits as well as a wet paper bag. However, not many opponents can survive his magical assault, especially with Grafcalibur.
* MagikarpPower: He starts very average, but if well trained, he will become a staple of the army, synergizing well with later-acquired mages.
* PrettyBoy: Just look at him!
* WeaponOfChoice: The Grafcalibur, a powerful Wind magic tome with 100% hit rate and 40% critical rate.
* WonderChild: He has the potential to be a very strong magician and specializes in the best magic element, Wind.

->'''Class:''' Troubadour\\
'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KaoriNazuka (Japanese), Alicia Stratten (English) (''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes'')
* ActionGirlfriend: To Leif, as she's quite the CombatMedic.
* AdaptationDyeJob: She has blue eyes in this game instead of the brown eyes she had in ''Genealogy'', reflecting the fact that Finn is her father in this iteration of the story.
** May be a case of upgraded graphics, as even Lachesis is pictured with blue eyes in official works despite having golden eyes in her sprite, and Finn is officially only her caretaker.
** Her eyes changed once again in ''Heroes'', this time to being green.
* BrotherSisterTeam: Her and Diarmuid, when recruited, will work excellently when maximum 3 squares away from each other, as they will gain a mutual +20 hit\avoid, and they can provide the same bonus, when close, to any unit that is in the same square radius.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: She grew up with Leif, and if she makes it to the end, they get together.
* CombatMedic: Can use both staves and swords.
* {{Deuteragonist}}: As Leif's love interest.
* DistressBall: What sets the action off is her and Mareeta's kidnapping. In episode 3, [[IHaveYourWife she is used as a hostage by the enemy]] so Leif will let the imperial forces take him, [[DefiantCaptive even when Nanna tells him not to do so.]]
* EverythingsBetterWithPrincesses: The first really useful candidate for the Wrath tome, allowing her to counter-critical every attack while restoring all the damage inflicted back to her health, meaning that 90% of the time she will one-shot everything (and it can be done as soon as Chapter 8x!)
* TheHighQueen: [[spoiler:She becomes the queen of New Kingdom of Thracia with Leif.]]
* LadyOfWar: If well trained, after promotion.
* LifeDrain: Her personal sword, the Earth Sword, can drain the enemy's HP and replenish her own when it hits. It is a heirloom from her mother.
%%* PluckyGirl

-->"Let me through!"
-->"There's no other way…"

* RequiredPartyMember: Her older brother Diarmuid will join the army ''only'' if she's alive.
* StatusBuff: Her Charm skill increases +10 hit/avoid to allies within a 3-tile range, alongside her very late-acquired brother Diarmuid.
* StoneWall: If given the Wrath skill, Nanna, unless 1-shotted, will be capable to gain back a very hefty amount of health by using her Earth Sword.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The girly girl to her friend Mareeta's tomboy.
* WeaponOfChoice: The Earth Sword, which she got from her mother. It has the ability to heal her upon damaging an enemy.
* WomanInWhite: Nanna's outfit is mostly white.
* UtilityPartyMember: "Charm" is an excellent skill to boost any units and "Healing" is a requirement to avoid risky situations.

* PapaWolf: Decides to help Leif once he hears he's fighting to stop [[spoiler:the child hunts]], since thanks to him, his son Maphy and other kids were saved from them.

* FragileSpeedster: He'll be this for a while, but he should gain some notable bulk, [[SubvertedTrope subverting this]], though it will rarely be to the degree of the Heroes.
* LifeDrain: He starts off with the Sol skill.
* LightningBruiser: The combination of Sol, 4 PCC, base stats, and growth turns him into a good damage dealer with quite an amazing durability.
* KnightInShiningArmor: To Safy, whom he protects from Lifis's lechery.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: Shiva is one of the taller characters, wears black, has dark hair, and is quite handsome.
* TheStoic: Well, he follows the Navarre/Nabarl archetype after all.
* OlderSidekick: At thirty, Shiva is older than the twenty-year-old Lifis.
* TokenGoodTeammate: He's also the most moral associate of the Lifis Pirates.

* DependingOnTheArtist: His portrait is different from his official art as he wears a blue cape instead of a white cape in-game. It also implies that he wears blue in-game by his sprite palette even though he wears red in his official art.
* KnightInShiningArmor
* MagikarpPower: Starts at level 1, when your other characters have survived the Manster Prison Break. Thankfully, he can get the Paragon Sword, and he has good stats, alongside a high Pursuit Critical Coefficient.

* GlassCannon: Not many can survive her Dire Thunder or Holy Sword, and with Vantage, she can attack before the enemy, which is especially useful combined with Pure Waters. On the other hand, one miss and a few hits is all it take to bring her HP to zero, and Dire Thunder is EXTREMELY heavy.
* InfinityPlusOneSword: Has one, the Holy Sword, which she can get by talking to Reinhardt in Chapter 22. The requirement is MUCH easier said than done.

* GlorySeeker: He wants to demonstrate to everyone that a mere commoner like him can be as worthy, if more, than a blue-blooded patrician.
* GuideDangIt: His recruitment. In order to recruit him, not only does Olwen have to be unrecruited or dead, but he also has to be recruited by Karin. The game never mentions how to recruit him or even explain why Karin of all people.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: Combined with DontYouDarePityMe in his recruitment conversation, in regards to his low birth.
* LifeDrain: He starts off with the Sol skill.
* LightningBruiser: His stats are so massive, sometimes you wonder ''why'' exactly he has to feel inferior. To clarify, he can wield any kind of swords and thunder tomes (including [[DeathFromAbove the Bolting]]), despite an initial massive loss to speed for the most powerful swords and a constant loss of speed due to the high-power, heavy-weight magic toms; has solid double range offense (which can be augmented with Holy Water and Magic Swords); high starting speed allows him to be evasive and double-attack all but the fastest enemies; solid growth rate complements very well with the powerful Crusaders Scroll, allowing him to easily become a better mage through the constant increase of magic; his defensive parameters, finally, are complemented by his high starting HP and good physical defence. And to propel his badass nature even more, he has the ''very'' sought after Sol and Miracle flairs as his default skills. Put simply, having Staff is the only thing he missed from everything that makes a good unit in this game.
* MagicKnight: As a Mage Knight. Statwise, he's more of a Knight than Mage when compared to Olwen.
* MightyGlacier: High HP + evasion bonuses + 42% initial chance to avoid ALL deadly attacks = can't kill easily.
* MutuallyExclusivePartyMembers: Either him, the tank, or Olwen, the GlassCannon.
* OneManArmy: Can be sent to deal with numerous, dangerous enemies all by himself with a very high rate of success, even more if gifted with the Wrath skill and it is using Wind Tomes
* ShockAndAwe: Is a (really powerful) MagicKnight and his speciality is Thunder Magic.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Especially in his ending.

* SilkHidingSteel: A rare male example.
* SpiritAdvisor: [[spoiler:He has Claude's spirit as this.]]

* LikeFatherLikeSon: Averted. She's the daughter of [[spoiler:Deet'var]], but makes a point about how her mom's death at the hands of [[spoiler:Sigurd's group]] has nothing to do with her motivations.
* RedeemingReplacement: Misha is the daughter of [[spoiler:Deet'var]], but unlike her [[spoiler:mother]], Misha doesn't stay as an enemy and can see the error of her ways.

* HairDecorations: She wears a diadem.
* InnocentProdigy: She is a superb spellcaster, but has none the malice and wickedness of her grandfather.
* LittleMissBadass: The most powerful among the mage units and the most useful character in the game.
* LonelyDollGirl: Never had the chance to be alongside other young children, so she is strange in the head.
* LongHairIsFeminine: Longest hairs in game.
* MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter: [[spoiler:Manfroy is her gramps, and he killed Sara's father when her mom was pregnant with her. Sara ''despises'' him as a result.]]
* MagikarpPower: Starts underlevelled... but with amazing staff rank, Paragon, and a massive growth rate. And this is before promoting into a Sage, one of the best classes in the game.
* MeeknessIsWeakness: Averted: she is meek and slightly weird, but stats-wise, she's one of the best characters in the game — if not ''the'' best. Plus, she bluntly states how much her grandfather sucks and her loathing of him.
* MysticalWaif: She claims that she could hear Eyvel's voice in her mind and that's why she wants to join Leif, because Eyvel, having been cursed by the Stone Spell of Veld, something Sara can directly perceive and counteract, is a close acquintance of the Lord she is facing.
* TheOjou: She's first seen talking to an enemy, who refers to her as "Lady Sara". This is because [[spoiler:Manfroy]] keeps her around due to her being his heir of sorts.
* TheOphelia: She's believed to be such by [[spoiler:Manfroy and the Loptous sect]], but she's more of a slightly-off but otherwise functional OracularUrchin, and she eagerly joins Leif's group as soon as she has the chance so she can strike out against her much-hated grandpa.
* OracularUrchin: She can perceive other people emotions.
* RapunzelHair: Almost touching the ground.
* RequiredPartyMember: Only her presence and the possession of the Stone Dispelling "Kia Staff" will give access to Chapter 24x, allowing the player to rescue [[spoiler:Eyvel]].
* PsychicChildren: She can hear the thoughts of any person who has been petrified by the cursed "Stone" spell tome, as she and her Kia staff are the keys to counteracting it.
* TheResenter: She loathes her grandfather for having shamed her family.
* StaringKid: She stares at Leif in the Route B Chapter 16 while hiding in the forest, and Leif has to talk to her to make her join his cause.
* SupernaturalSensitivity
* SuperpowerLottery: Sorta. Sara has three skills that are ''extremely'' good when combined: Wrath (all attacks are {{Critical hit}}s when at Counter), Miracle (evades most lethal blows depending on luck *3), and Paragon (gains double experience). She has the ability to use staves (which is a massive SuperpowerLottery when it comes to ''Thracia 776''), and a high base staff rank. On top of that, she has VERY high Luck, Skill, Magic, and Speed, promotes into a Sage, [[spoiler:and only she can handle a '''very''' rare staff that will let you save Eyvel, and thus avert having her turned into a Dreadlord]]. [[GlassCannon If not for her low HP and Defense...]]. If she is given the HP + Defence boosting scrolls to hold and the "Sun Skill" tome is used on her, she becomes a thorough gamebreaker, easily the strongest fighting + utility unit in the game, followed only by Ilios (if he has the Wrath skill) regarding fighting enemies.
* WeaponOfChoice: The Kia staff, which can remove Petrify on an unit. [[spoiler:She'll use it to restore Eyvel and any units that get hit by Veld's Stone magic in the final battle.]]

* BrokenBird: She's been badly, ''badly'' broken by [[spoiler:her father's murder]] and the hardships she went through afterwards.
* CantCatchUp: She joins in the same level as Sara, but with "Wrath" as her only skill and none of the utility of the deadly mastermind's niece. Still, if given a chance to shine (mostly by pumping her with the 2x gaining experience "Paragon" and stocking all the relevant growth-increasing items that will improve her weak points, those being HP and defense), she ''will'' be a very strong set in the player's build-up.
* EverythingsBetterWithPrincesses: Averted: she's the princess of Alster, but still goes through lots of crap.
* FallenPrincess: She hails from the fallen kingdom of Alster.
* MagicMeteor: Once promoted, she will immediately have access to Meteor tomes, making her the first naturally available long-range fire magic attacker in Route B.

* FakeUltimateHero: He pretends to be [[WorldsBestWarrior a very powerful prince]] fighting for the right of freedom, yet he is merely a leech to his name.
* JokeCharacter: He teaches Mareeta a powerful skill ''by mere fluke'', and in gameplay his ''actual'' true worth lies in his Bargain skill that lets him buy items at half price. Shannam isn't a fighter, he's a shopper.
* PaperTiger: He poses as Shannan, but has the worst base stats as a Level 1 Swordmaster and has the weirdest growths (50% to HP, Strength, and Speed, 5% everything else).
* SecretArt: The bull he feeds Mareeta with is enough to have her learn a very overpowered skill in the form of "Astra".
* TheSlacker: He's not a very big fan of hard work.

* BladeOnAStick: As a General, Xavier is the only character able to use Lances dismounted aside from Dalsin after promotion. Sadly, his Lance rank is his lowest weapon rank at E, despite the manual artwork depicting him with a Lance.

Given that his implied father in this game is [[spoiler:Beowolf]], it comes off as jarring since he would still likely be a Free Knight at that point due to the limited experience of the encounters leading up to his role in ''Thracia''. The only possible explanation is that he was wearing a Paragon Ring beforehand.

* SmugSuper: Because of the high-rank grade he covers, he brags about how much pain he can abandon someone with.

->'''Class:''' Mage Knight\\
'''Voiced by:''' Kentaro Tone (Japanese), Creator/ChristopherCoreySmith (English) (''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes'')
* ActionInitiative: Gets the Vantage skill, which in this game translates to always attacking first regardless of phase.
* AlasPoorVillain: He is forced to face his own sister, and clearly has a death wish by bestowing on her an overpowered sword to make it easier for her to fight against him and her next challenges.
* AntiVillain: He just follows orders, but he clearly despises the motivations behind him.
* BreakoutVillain: Despite only making a few appearances throughout the game, Reinhardt received a huge boost in popularity following his [[UnexpectedCharacter surprise appearance]] in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemHeroes''. Prior to his inclusion, Reinhardt placed 584th out of 791 units in the first Choose Your Legends Poll. In the second, he was 5th among the males and finished 11th overall, a full 574 spots higher. This would lead to him getting a variant when the Thracia banner came around, making him the only villain besides the [[VideoGame/FireEmblemPathOfRadiance Black Knight]] to get a variant.
* BrokenPedestal: In Olwen's ending, Reinhardt ended up as this for her, where the mention of his name or looking at his picture filled her with anger. Clearly, Olwen is unable to comprehend why Reinhardt would still insist on fighting for the Friege family, which, in her opinion, has crossed the MoralEventHorizon.
* MagicKnight: His class allows him to use swords and anima magic.
* MyCountryRightOrWrong
* PreMortemOneLiner: In ''Heroes''.
-->"Magic is everything!"
-->"This must be fate."
-->"I'll give it my all."
-->"You will back down."
* PromotedToPlayable: He makes his playable debut in ''Heroes'', 17 years after his first and only appearance in the series prior to that point.
* SeriousBusiness: He fights for his employer, out of fealty, to vaunt-square his own little sister that defected for the opposite faction.
* ShockAndAwe: Dire Thunder is a tome that conjures lightning.
* SNKBoss: Holy SHIT, Reinhardt. Even worse, you fight him on ThatOneLevel. Can be somewhat fought on easier terms if Troude or someone with the Nihil skill was used, or if you just send Ilios or Sara against him.
%%* TallDarkAndHandsome
* TragicVillain: Forced to fight his sister.
* WeaponOfChoice: Like Olwen, he wields the Dire Thunder and the Holy Sword.

One of Lifis's subordinates who terrorizes Ith.

->'''Class:''' Warrior

* HeelFaceTurn: Says he'll quit piracy and become a fisherman upon being released.
* {{Pirate}}: He is one of Lifis's goons.
%%* RapePillageAndBurn

A member of the Mount Violdrake Bandits who rebelled against Dagdar.

->'''Class:''' Warrior
* AntiVillain: He only did it because of his hunger and believing that Dagdar's effort to reform is worthless and being deceived by Eyvel.
* RapePillageAndBurn: He and his gang resort back to banditry despite Dagdar's effort to reform due to their hunger growing.
* WakeUpCallBoss: Think his boasting as "Gomes the Invisible" is like [[VideoGame/FireEmblemElibe "Batta the Beast?"]] You are wrong, as his boasting can be backed up with his stats: very high strength that can one-shot most of your least durable units, enough speed where most units cannot double (which also means they cannot rely on pursuit criticals), sitting on a throne to boost his defense, and a Warrior class which means he has no weaknesses to exploit like Armorslayers, so he's very difficult to defeat. He is, however, weak to magic.

A member of the Dandelion gang who wants to commit banditry behind Perne's back.

->'''Class:''' Warrior
* RapePillageAndBurn: Unlike the rest of the Dandelion gang, Colho and his followers don't want to be JustLikeRobinHood.
