Listed below are the characters from the game series ''VideoGame/FightersHistory'', arranged by their debut game.

!!Introduced in ''Fighter's History''

[[WMG:Ray [=McDougal=]]]

* AnimeHair: Very similar to a [[Manga/DragonBall Super]] [[Anime/DragonBallZ Saiyan's]], in fact.
* BloodKnight: A mild example. Ray hates standing still and is almost always on the go, seeking out the next big case or worthy challenger.
* BlowYouAway: Big Tornado, judging by its name and appearance at least.
* BoisterousBruiser
* CowboyCop: By the time of ''Dynamite'', he's working as a detective stationed in Los Angeles.
* FairCop: Though not much is made of his looks throughout the series.
* TheHero: Sorta.
* ShockAndAwe: His Thunder Dynamite Tackle.
* SpiritedCompetitor: In both of his endings, he refuses to accept Karnov's fortune and helps the man back to his feet, only concerned with having a good fight which would determine the stronger of the two.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: His throws are [=DDTs=].

[[WMG:Makoto Mizoguchi]]

* AnimalMotifs: Considering that [[ThemeNaming three of his specials have the word "Tiger" in them]] and his Tiger Bazooka [[ShapingYourAttacks is even in the shape of a tiger]], [[CaptainObvious the tiger]].
* AlliterativeName
* BatterUp: [[ Exclusive to his appearance in]] ''Suiko Enbu'', Mizoguchi [[ShapingYourAttacks can create a baseball bat out of his spiritual energy]] and use it to whack opponents, knocking them out of the park (and into walls).
* BigOlEyebrows
* BreakoutCharacter: Compared to Ray, TheHero. Out of the entire cast, Mizoguchi is by far the most memorable character of ''Fighter's History'' and one of only ''two'' combatants from the series to show up anywhere else in fighting game history.
* TheChewToy
* DoesNotLikeShoes
* {{Expy}}: Seems to be one of [[Manga/SakigakeOtokojuku Momotaro Tsurugi]].
* GuestFighter: In ''Suiko Enbu: Fuunsaiki'' (alongside Yungmie) and ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Maximum Impact: Regulation A''.
* HotBlooded: Just listen to [[{{Kiai}} his battle cries]] [[NoIndoorVoice for starters]].
* TheIdiotFromOsaka
* KiAttacks
* MartialArtsHeadband
* RunningGag: After being scouted by the Chinese mafia due to his abilities, Mizoguchi eventually grows homesick and attempts to leave the gang during each tournament he competes in, all of which (with the exception of ''KOF MI:RA'') inevitably end in failure.
* SchoolUniformsAreTheNewBlack: His combat attire, [[WalkingShirtlessScene although he discards the coat jacket]].
* {{Shotoclone}}: Ayup. Compare his Tiger Bazooka to the [[EnergyBall Hadouken]] (with the Gotsui Tiger Bazooka functioning as the Shinkuu Hadouken), his Koryusai and Tsutensai to the {{Shoryuken}}, and his Renzoku Keri to the [[HurricaneKick Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku]] (although it's closer functionally to [[VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha Dan]]'s Dankuukyaku or [[VideoGame/StreetFighterIII Sean]]'s Tornado).
* SpiritedCompetitor
* WalkingShirtlessScene

[[WMG:Ryoko Kano]]

* ActionGirl
* ChildProdigy: Started with judo at age ''three''.
* CuteBruiser
* DisappearedDad: Her father left her at an early age, which is why she carried on the family judo practice. [[spoiler:Her father returns in the ending to ''Fighter's History Dynamite''.]]
* DoesNotLikeShoes
* {{Expy}}[=/=]NoCelebritiesWereHarmed:
** Of RealLife judoka [[ Ryoko Tani.]]
** Her story also takes a few pages from ''Manga/YawaraAFashionableJudoGirl''.
* GlacierWaif: To an extent. [[LightningBruiser She's surprisingly agile for a grappler.]]
* LittleMissBadass: At 17, she skirts the line.
** OlderThanTheyLook: She looks 14, ''tops''.
* PlayingWithFire: Her Mountain Storm throw.
* PluckyGirl
* RaisedByGrandparents
* {{Tomboy}}
* UnnecessaryCombatRoll: Averted; her Zenten Ukemi doubles as both an evasive maneuver ''and'' an attack.
* WaifFu

[[WMG:Liu Feilin]]

* ActionGirl
* AllAsiansKnowMartialArts: Master of the Mantis style.
* ArmorIsUseless: Wears a chestplate in battle... which doubles as her [[AttackItsWeakPoint weak spot]].
* [[ArrogantKungFuGuy Arrogant Kung-Fu Gal]]
* BeautyIsBad: Not so much "bad" as "{{vanity|IsFeminine}}." Feilin is ''very'' proud of her looks, nearly to the point of narcissism, but she isn't too bad otherwise.
* ChristmasCake: She's 28, although no one makes note of it and Feilin herself doesn't seem to be in a rush to settle down.
* CleavageWindow: [[ On her top underneath the armor.]]
* CulturedBadass
* HairDecorations
* InsultToRocks: In the original ''Fighter's History'', she tells Marstorius "My hairdresser has better moves than you!"
* KiAttacks
* LadyOfWar
* MsFanservice: A rather tame one, and mostly on the basis of her mannerisms and personality as opposed to her design itself; Feilin is conservatively dressed, even wearing ornamental ([[ClothingDamage but not all too sturdy]]) armor into battle.
* ProudBeauty
* TheRival: As of ''Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!!'', Yungmie.
* SheFu: Dabbles in it a bit, but not as bad as some.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: The Liu is sometimes spelled as Ryu (which is how her name is rendered in Japanese), while Feilin is occasionally hyphenated (i.e. "Fei-lin").
* StereotypesOfChinesePeople: Top Beijing Opera actress. Curiously, she's not your stereotypical AnimeChineseGirl, although she falls far closer to it than a DragonLady.
* WorldsMostBeautifulWoman: Views herself as such and is equally determined to prove herself as the strongest fighter as well.
** TheFightingNarcissist: Might toe the line. And if she is, she'd count as one of the few non-malevolent examples. (She's full of herself, yeah, but she's not evil.)

[[WMG:Matlok Jade]]

* AnimeHair: A quite epic blond (or red) mohawk.
* CoolShades
** SunglassesAtNight
* DanceBattler: To a degree.
* TheMeanBrit: Could be worse, though.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Based off of Music/SexPistols' bass guitarist Glen Matlock.
* PunkRock: Is a punk musician, and joins the tournament in search of a famous electric guitar.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Matlok, not Matlo'''c'''k.
* WalkingShirtlessScene

[[WMG:Samchay Tomyamgun]]

* {{Expy}}: Being a nak muay and given his moveset, it's a bit hard to ''not'' compare him to [[Franchise/StreetFighter Sagat]].
* {{Gonk}}
* MartialArtsHeadband: A Mongkhon in his case.
* PromotionToParent: Takes care of his two younger brothers and a little sister.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Looks like he's almost in his 30's, but considering that he has pre-teen siblings to take care of, he's most likely in his early 20's ''tops''.

[[WMG:Lee Diendou]]

* ArrogantKungFuGuy
* BareFistedMonk
* KiAttacks: Particularly used to empower his various punches.
* ShoutOut: Named after famed Bājíquán teacher Li Shuwen. His fighting style is also evocative of the one seen in ''Manga/{{Kenji}}''.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Lee can be rendered as Li, and Diendo(u) is sometimes spelled as Tien-hou or Tendok.
* YouKilledMyFather: Is searching for the murderer of his dad. [[spoiler:His OldMaster barely manages to stop him from killing the culprit, Karnov, reminding him of the elder Lee's teachings.]]

[[WMG:Jean Pierre]]

* {{Bishonen}}: According to [[AmbiguouslyGay Clown]].
* TheCasanova[=/=]TheCharmer: In spite of the less... attractive facets of his personality, Jean seems to have [[PetTheDog a bit of a soft spot for women]]. He shows more than a passing interest in Feilin while commending her skills and also appears to do a bit of flirting with Yungmie (or at least trying to pass on a bit of advice) given his win quote against her. In ''Dynamite'', he also decides to pull his punches with Ryoko.
* TheFightingNarcissist: Well, he ''is'' a gym practitioner as well as a fighter.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: His Needle Shower and Quick Needle Shower.
* SecondPlaceIsForLosers: In gymnastics, he always had a perfect score... then he received a 9.98.
** ThePerfectionist
* SheFu: [[GenderInvertedTrope Male equivalent]], although such is to be expected of a gymnast.
* SomethingAboutARose: He uses a rose ''[[ImprobableWeaponUser as a projectile]]''. Yes, even before [[VideoGame/StreetFighterIII Dudley]] became famous for it.
* WearingAFlagOnYourHead: Wears the ''Tricolore'' on his left pants leg, AmbidextrousSprite notwithstanding.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Uses a [[MurderousThighs Frankensteiner]] for his throw.

* BadassBeard
* BoisterousBruiser
* {{Expy}}: Of pro wrestler [[ Bruiser Brody.]] He also slightly resembles the late tenor [[ Lucciano Pavaroti.]]
* HenpeckedHusband: The only person capable of "keeping him in line" is his wife. [[BrawnHilda Who's just as big and strong as he is.]]
* JumpPhysics: As a counterbalance to his damaging throws (most infamously, the dreaded [[SuplexFinisher Double German]]), Marstorius has a very low jump (the lowest in the game), making it hard for him to effectively deal with and counter the numerous projectiles most of the remaining fighters have access to.
* ManInAKilt
* MightyGlacier
* ProWrestlingIsReal
* WildHair

* AmbiguouslyGay
* AxCrazy
* CoolMask
* DeathDealer: [[CallingYourAttacks "Pick a card!"]]
* EvilLaugh: Borderline LaughingMad.
* InsultToRocks: His win quote against Marstorius in ''Dynamite''.
-->"My poodle is stronger than you!"
* InTheHood
* LaughablyEvil: Arguably qualifies on his better days.
* MonsterClown
* RollingAttack: His Spin Attack and Spinning Drop. Both are performed in a distinctly [[VideoGame/StreetFighterII Blanka]] fashion.
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: His ending in ''Dynamite'' states that he is "thoroughly hated by all fighters" and a "menace to society" that nobody can stop.

* TheAtoner: In his backstory.
* BigBad
* BlingOfWar: Downplayed; Karnov wears [[GoldMakesEverythingShiny a rather elaborate golden necklace]], but that's it.
* CanonImmigrant: Had his own game, ''VideoGame/{{Karnov}}''.
* EyesAlwaysShut
* GoodScarsEvilScars: On his stomach, giving him Karnov more than a passing resemblance to [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar Heart]].
* {{Leitmotif}}: His theme in ''Dynamite'' is a rearrangement of his theme from ''Karnov''.
* NiceHat
* PlayingWithFire: BreathWeapon variant.
* RedBaron: Zazie refers to him as the "King of the Desert."
* RubberMan: His Balloon Attack has Karnov expanding his own upper body to flatten his opponents [[DeathFromAbove from the skies]]. Expect to hear cries of [[CallingYourAttacks "BALLOOOOONN!"]] over and over if you face him, especially if it's a human player.
* StoutStrength: Though he's certainly [[FormerlyFit let himself go]] since the ''Karnov'' days.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: [[FanDisservice While he should cover up more]], it's probably necessary considering Karnov can inflate himself.

!!Introduced in ''Fighter's History Dynamite''

[[WMG:Liu Yungmie]]

* ActionGirl
* AmazonianBeauty: She has the whole "Chun-Li thunder thighs" thing going on. Her arms aren't anything to scoff at either.
* BadassAdorable: Has her moments, more so in ''Suiko Enbu: Fuunsaiki'' than in the series proper, but of note is the fact that her [[BeautyIsNeverTarnished defeat portrait]] is downright pitiable: Feilin looks disappointed by her loss, Ryoko scowls, ''Yungmie is on the verge of tears''.
* {{Expy}}:
** She's the Korean equivalent of [[VideoGame/StreetFighterII Chun-Li]], albeit to varying extents. Her design has a few traits in common with Chun-Li (particularly her ''[[VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha Alpha]]'' incarnation), such as the tights and eyeshadow. She's also a KickChick like Chun-Li, possessing a similarly muscular physique and a Hyakuretsukyaku-esque special. She decides to investigate the mysterious disappearance of her parents (similar to Chun-Li's DisappearedDad) and has a vendetta against the BigBad because of it (i.e. Chun-Li vs. Bison); however, [[spoiler:she drops it upon learning that Karnov wasn't responsible]]. Yungmie even replicates Chun-Li's "Yatta!", although she doesn't do the corresponding win pose until her stint as a GuestFighter in ''Suiko Enbu: Fuunsaiki''. This would come full circle with ''VideoGame/StreetFighterIV'': Not only does Chun-Li pick up an aerial splits kick ([[ her neutral j.HK]]) like [[ the one Yungmie uses]] that would follow her into ''[[VideoGame/StreetFighterV V]]'', but ''[[CapcomSequelStagnation Super]]'' newcomer Juri Han is a Korean practitioner of TKD who does everything listed below in KickChick and ''also'' has an aerial splits kick as her neutral j.HK [[ that even more closely resembles the move in question.]]
** Her hairband also looks a lot like the one worn by [[VideoGame/FatalFury Mai Shiranui]].
* GenerationXerox[=/=]LamarckWasRight: The child of two world-class Taekwondokas, Yungmie is of a similar caliber (she is a master, after all), if not better.
* GiantWaistRibbon
* GuestFighter: Joins Mizoguchi in the line-up for ''Suiko Enbu: Fuunsaiki''.
* HairDecorations
* KiAttacks: Her Aura Smash, an air-only fireball that travels straight ahead.
* KickChick: To point of throwing her projectiles with her legs, throwing people with her legs, and even blocking with them while standing.
* TheRival: As of ''Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!!'', Feilin.
* ShesGotLegs: In fact, her later appearances remove the tights to showcase those impressive gams in full.
* {{Shoryuken}}: Nerichagi is a variant. Yungmie leaps straight up with a kick and comes back down with a second. The LK version will completely whiff on crouching opponents on the way down, while the HK version ''does'' hit crouchers but has enough of a delay between hits that an opponent can block the first and counter with a higher priority move, as Nerichagi lacks invincibility while descending.
* SpamAttack: Her [[PlayingWithFire Fire Kick]], performed in the vein of Chun-Li's Hyakuretsukyaku. Unlike Jean and Zazie, Fire Kick can only be performed with two attacks of the same strength (LP + LK or HP + HK), meaning Yungmie can't instantly throw one out by mashing all four buttons, which makes the attack limited in use and somewhat unreliable outside of a combo ender at optimal ranges.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Same deal as Feilin: her first name is sometimes spelled as Ryu/Riu. Her surname is also given as Yung Mie or Yung-Mie at times.
* TomboyishPonytail
* WalkingTheEarth: In a sense. Yungmie's ending in ''Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!!'' has her travel the world, working as a tour guide.
* WallJump: Has access to a triangle jump just like, you guessed it, Chun-Li. Yungmie's wall acrobatics allows her to use a splits kick during her angled jump by pressing down + HK in additional to her regular aerials.
* [[YouKilledMyFather You Killed My Parents]]: To Karnov. [[spoiler:He claims that he didn't do it (her father actually [[DrivenToSuicide committed suicide]] after his loss), and adds that Yungmie's mother may be alive.]]

[[WMG:Zazie Muhaba]]

* BadassBeard
* DoesNotLikeShoes
* DreadlockWarrior
* FriendToAllLivingThings
* MartialArtsHeadband
* NatureHero: He fights to protect African wildlife from poachers and earn money to fund his self-made environmental group.
* PlayingWithFire: Deshikakato and Hellfire.
* RapidFireFisticuffs: His Vulcan Hook and Quick Vulcan Hook. Put him up against the aforementioned Jean, [[ and...]]
* ScaryBlackMan: [[SubvertedTrope Though only at a first glance.]]
* ShoutOut: The name of his fighting style? [[Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar Hokuto Shinkan Karate.]]
* WalkingShirtlessScene
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Hell Driver.

* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: Yeah, you have to fight this bull.
* {{Expy}}: Of the infamous ''VideoGame/KarateChamp'' bull.
* HornAttack
* TrueFinalBoss: You can challenge Ox if you reach the end of the game without losing or continuing on normal difficulty or higher.

!!Introduced in ''Fighter's History: Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!!''

* CanonImmigrant: From his own game, ''VideoGame/{{Chelnov}}''.
* TheFaceless: Dons a strange suit which conceals his face.
* NearDeathExperience: His alleged backstory. He was once a scientist who nearly died in [[NoodleIncident a huge accident]].
