[[folder:All Three Eds]]
[[quoteright:248:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eds_images_5064.jpg]]

* AffablyEvil: Ed and Edd, although [[JustifiedTrope justified.]] Neither of them have a single malicious bone in their body, but they do help Eddy with his scams and makes them [[VillainProtagonist villain protagonists]] by default. It turns out in TheMovie that Eddy isn't evil either and just [[JerkassFacade thought he would be cool if he was mean to everyone.]]
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Until the end of TheMovie.
* AllWorkVsAllPlay: Edd is All Work to Ed and Eddy's All Play.
* AntiVillain: Most of the time they want to get the money, no matter the means. However Ed and Edd are {{nice guy}}s and have a stronger moral code than some of the characters, especially Edd. Eddy also turns out to be one. See below.
** Ed and Edd are [[SlidingScaleOfAntiVillains Villains in Name Only]], while Eddy is revealed to be a Woobie Anti-Villain.
* AuthorAvatar: As Danny Antonucci stated in an interview, each of the Eds are based on his different personality aspects.
* BigThinShortTrio: Ed, Edd, and Eddy, respectively.
* ButtMonkey: Almost everyone on the show hates them, they are constantly humiliated from their attempts to earn respect from their peers and doomed to fail at every money-making venture they've ever made. The one who brings it upon themself the most , however, is Eddy.
** IronButtMonkey: To a truly extraordinary extent. They attract all kinds of AmusingInjuries.
* CharacterTitle: ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin. The show is called "Ed, Edd, N Eddy."
* EarnYourHappyEnding: After "130 episodes, four specials and a movie!" of physical, mental and social humiliation, the series ends with the Eds well liked by the cul-de-sac (and finally getting jawbreakers).
* EmbarrassingMiddleName: Eddy's middle name is Skipper, Ed has the middle name Horace and Edd's middle name is Marion.
* ExtremeDoormat: All three of them get pushed around easily to some degree and they never put a fight when the kids or Kankers attack them. Ed lets himself get bullied by his sister, Double D hardly stands up for himself when he gets blamed for something or mistreated by his friends or neighbors, and Eddy (despite being louder and more outspoken than the other two) almost never fights back when he's assaulted by the other characters.
** In the movie, Eddy is revealed to be this to his brother. He attempts to stay collected and calm while he's getting brutally beaten up, even when it's become clear to everyone that his brother's a vicious bully.
* {{Failure Hero}}es
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: All of the Eds' scams and efforts backfire in some form or another. Even if they get away with it, their rewards are usually either lost or destroyed.
* FauxHorrific: Ed and Eddy's reaction to seeing broccoli.
** Judging by Edd's response, this may be the case to their reaction to seeing what's under his hat the second time.
* FightingTheLancer: Usually Eddy to Edd.
* {{Flanderization}}: All of their traits were exaggerated over time. Ed starts as being kinda-slow to being mentally handicapped, Edd starts off as a bit of a neat freak to going insane if he doesn't take a shower, and Eddy goes from being a tad jerky to being a full-blown {{Jerkass}}. However, this is inverted in the movie, as they go back to their original selves.
* FreudianTrio
** Ed - Ego: Big, dumb, brutish, and easily swayed
** Edd - Superego: NeatFreak, The SmartGuy
** Eddy - Id: Schemer, the leader, ruled by his desires
** Depending on the nature of the episode, they sometimes switch roles: Rules-obsessed Edd can become the limiting Superego, while {{Cloudcuckoolander}} Ed can act as the Id. Ironically, when this happens, it puts no-self-control Eddy in the Ego position by default as he tries to reign in the extreme behavior of the other two and keep them focused on their goal (jawbreakers or money).
* GuiltByAssociationGag: They ''always'' fall victim to this, Especially Edd.
** Averted in the episode "Brother, Can You Spare An Ed" when Eddy is the only one who receives punishments.
** Also in the episode "A Case Of Ed" when Eddy and Ed are the only ones who get their just desserts.
** Also averted in "Truth or Ed" and "Too Smart for His Own Ed".
* HeterosexualLifePartners: They are rarely seen apart.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Their treatment of the Kankers in the episode "Nagged To Ed".
* KarmaHoudini: Ed's Mart from "A Glass of Warm Ed" is probably the Eds' most successful scam and one of the few they actually get away with. They also got off scot-free in "See No Ed", "Sir Ed-a-Lot", "Flea-Bitten Ed", "Rent-A-Ed", and "The Day the Ed Stood Still". But other than these, they CantGetAwayWithNuthin.
* LaserGuidedKarma: They get struck down by this nearly all the time.
* LethallyStupid: They cause chaos in the Cul de Sac, but never on purpose. Especially Ed.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Edd and Ed are this to Eddy. When Edd decides to leave Eddy for real in the movie, he shatters apart like glass, and [[TearJerker is genuinely crying for the first time in the series.]] Because of his brother's abuse coupled with the neighbor kids' neglect, they must really mean a lot to Eddy.
** Really, the three are this to each other. Edd is broken after thinking his friends are dead, and Ed's worst fear is the Eds falling apart.
* [[LonerTurnedFriend Loners Turned Friends]]: In TheMovie.
* MadeOfIron: These guys can really take a beating (and in fact, this trope applies to almost everyone else in this show). Edd, the weakest and most frail Ed, can survive having a house crush him at a toddler age.
** The only characters who doesn't apply to the above trope is Eddy's Brother (who is [[GlassCannon knocked-out cold by a flying iron door]]).
* NoGuyWantsToBeChased: The Kanker Sisters seem to inspire abject terror in the Eds due to their constant romantic pursuits.
** Ironically, in "A Twist of Ed", they seemed to enjoy being the ones doing the chasing, at least until it backfired on them.
* OddFriendship: Soo...why exactly are they friends? Eddy is a [[{{Narcissist}} narcissistic]] {{Jerkass}} who thinks he's superior to everyone else (which turns out to be InferioritySuperiorityComplex in TheMovie), Edd is an {{Adorkable}} NiceGuy, ShrinkingViolet and a NeatFreak while Ed is a LethallyStupid KindheartedSimpleton. You have to wonder why they get along so well...
* OnlyOneName: Like most characters (except Nazz and the Kankers) their last names are never revealed.
** Ed actually calls Eddy "Eddy [=McGee=]" in two different episodes ("My Fair Ed" and "Mission Ed-Possible"). Though it's most likely not Eddy's real last name but just something made up by [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Ed]] to use rhyming words.
* ParentalNeglect: They are all implied to have neglectful parents.
** Ed's mother treats him as TheUnfavourite compared to his spoiled sister, who abuses him, and his father is largely apathetic to all this.
** In regards to Eddy, the movie reveals that his older brother has been physically abusing him, a twelve year old boy, for years, most likely during the entire time he lived with his parents. And while his parents may or may not know about this they certainly don't do a thing about it, instead constantly berating and punishing Eddy for his bad grades and behavior at school.
** And in regards to Edd, his parents communicate with him exclusively through Post-it notes and are hardly shown to be at home for Edd at all, meaning he's responsible for keeping a house clean
* PhraseCatcher: "Dorks!"
* PlotInducedStupidity: Most of the times the Eds' schemes end in terrible luck. Other times, it doesn't look like they're trying.
* PowerTrio
** ComicTrio: Eddy is the Schemer, Ed is the DumbMuscle, and Edd is the NoRespectGuy.
** NiceMeanAndInbetween: Edd (nice), Eddy (mean), and Ed (in-between).
*** On occasion can switch to Ed (nice) and Edd (in-between), since Edd has been known to lose it a couple of times, and Ed doesn't have a malicious bone in his body. That is, unless there is a malicious rock in his shoe.
* RedOniBlueOni: As a trio, they are blue to Kankers' red. They rarely resort to violence and usually try to get money via cunning instead of brute force.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Edd's Sensitive Guy to Ed and Eddy's Manly Men.
* SerenadeYourLover: They ''try'' to do this for Nazz - too bad they got the wrong house.
* TerribleTrio: In the eyes of the cul-de-sac kids, they definitely are.
* ThemeNaming: All of them have the same name.
* ThisLoserIsYou: All three of them, but especially Eddy.
* ThrowTheDogABone[=/=]TeamRocketWins: On ''very'' rare occasions the Eds close an episode on a triumphant note. "A Glass Of Warm Ed" and "Dim Lit Ed" end with them making unnegated profit from a scam, while TheMovie finally ends with them popular with the other kids.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: A normal parent would encourage their children not to hang around a kid like Eddy, yet Ed and Edd still do. Edd is not affected by it though, since being the OnlySaneMan makes him refuse to cope with Eddy if he goes too far. Ed however, usually goes along with what Eddy says because he's too [[YesMan stupid to know right from wrong.]]
** Speaking of this, it could be the reason Edd didn't go batshit at Ed for what Eddy ''and'' he did in TheMovie. Edd only directed his calling out on Eddy because he knew Ed was too stupid to know better. It goes like this: Edd begins yelling at Eddy, Ed shouts "I helped too!" in his defense, in which Edd responds by glaring at him. He then proceeds to go back yelling at Eddy.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Jawbreakers. Ed, meanwhile, also loves buttered toast and gravy.
* TrueCompanions: With Eddy as the "dad" of the group, Edd as the "mom" and Ed as the "child". TheMovie serves as a test of their friendship, which ends up becoming [[ThePowerOfFriendship far stronger than before]]. Especially in the climax.
* {{Tuckerization}}: Antonucci's middle name is Edward.
* {{Villain Protagonist}}s: To an extent, they are three con artists trying to scam their peers in most episodes (mostly Eddy). See AntiVillain above.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Mostly Eddy and Edd, especially in later seasons.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: [[NoRespectGuy Edd]] with Ed and Eddy. Especially evident in TheMovie, but subverted near the end.
** [[{{Jerkass}} Eddy]] in general towards both his friends.

[[quoteright:127:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ed-Edd-n-Eddy-006_737.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:127:Buttered Toast!!!]]

A lovable, astoundingly strong doofus who serves as the muscle of the Eds. Ed has a number of odd obsessions, including sci-fi and horror movies and comics, chickens, buttered toast, and gravy. An overdose of b-movies and comic books has apparently loosened his grip on reality, making him both spacey and easily-swayed.

->'''Voiced by:''' MattHill

* AbusiveParents: Ed's parents are implied to treat him with emotional abuse, while Sarah is treated like a princess.
* AchievementsInIgnorance: This is the explanation for how Ed warps reality.
* {{Adorkable}}: He's a lovable oaf with a silly, playful and innocent personality, and has a number of odd obsessions including sci-fi movies and comic books.
* AmbiguousDisorder: Ed could range anywhere from just being a bizarre combination of eccentric and slow for his age to a full on case of mental retardation.
* [[AnnoyingYoungerSibling Annoying Older Sibling]]: This is how Sarah sees him, despite Ed not trying to be annoying at all.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: It even gets written in his report card, which Ed reads...then gets distracted by ''his own finger''.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: How he defeats Eddy's Brother.
%% * Badass
* BagOfHolding: Ed's {{stomach| of holding}} apparently works like a storage facility or refrigerator sometimes.
** His jacket, too.
* BalloonBelly:
** In "A Glass of Warm Ed" and "Brother, Can You Spare an Ed?"\\
The latter example has Eddy commenting that jawbreakers shouldn't be swallowed whole and Ed acting like [[MisterSeahorse he's pregnant]].
-->'''Eddy:''' You're supposed to let it melt in your mouth, Ed, not swallow it.\\
'''Ed:''' (clutching at his belly) Aww, it is kicking, the little whatchamacallit.
** Also in "Flea Bitten Ed", when Ed swells up due to an allergy to Rolf's rabbits.
* BerserkButton:
** Don't let Ed get a rock in his shoe.
** Don't EVER mess with his friends, and especially not his sister. He doesn't even care if it's Eddy's Brother who's harassing them. He '''WILL''' kick their ass.
** Also, don't try to interrupt him once he's started watching an eight-hour monster movie marathon. Not quite as bad as the above buttons, but still qualifies.
* {{Beware the Nice|Ones}}/[[BewareTheSillyOnes Silly Ones]]: Ed is surprisingly intimidating the rare time he gets mad.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Despite her constant abuse of him, Ed loves Sarah and is pretty protective of her.
** He also extends this protection to Jimmy sometimes.
* BigEater: If he gets the munchies while he's sleepwalking, the cul-de-sac goes hungry; that's not the half of it. His friends imply that's ''mild'' for him.
* TheBigGuy: He's the workhorse of the group.
* BigOlUnibrow: He can't make funny faces without that!
** At one point, he's standing on his head and actually [[http://24.media.tumblr.com/801863bdc94e219eb1ea437ecd2423f3/tumblr_miwccmYRrp1rpmov4o1_500.gif moves across the ground using it.]]
* BoisterousBruiser: He's always cheerful & usually a fun guy to be around...& he can destroy his opponents easily.
* BMovie: Ed is on a strict diet of these, comic books, buttered toast and gravy.
* BumblingSidekick: He's likely to get Eddy into an unpleasant situation, usually by accident.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: While Ed is typically very stupid, he is incredibly resourceful/crafty in many situations in the series.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "Buttered Toast!"[=/=]"Gravy!"[=/=]Some version of "I love chickens!"
* ChaoticStupid: He's random and idiotic to the point of being dangerous.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Ed was initially more absentminded and smart, compared to how infantile and idiotic he is later. His early appearances also lacked his RealityWarping and SuperStrength abilities, and his non sequitur speech was much more infrequent.
* CharlieBrownBaldness: He appears to have a ring of short, black hairs around the edge of his scalp, which becomes an orange pompadour when styled in one episode.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}
--> Yeah, Double-D, an elephant never forgets, but I forgot what the elephant remembered.
* CollectorOfTheStrange:
** He collects sponges and stashes them in the walls of his room.
** He has a strange assortment of whole fried chickens. And the gravy. And the seagulls he kept under his bed.
** He also has an ungodly amount of horrendously rotten things. Like a lunch that's been sitting around for a year or a chunk of cheese that sat in his pocket for several weeks and was so revolting that it ''killed a fly''.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Ed ''owns'' this trope. For example:
-->'''Eddy:''' Ed, how can you be so stupid?\\
'''Ed:''' I watch cartoons, Eddy!
%%* ConstantlyCurious
* CovertPervert: Is partly the reason for the HoYay.
* CowardlyLion: He gets frightened often; but if his friends need it, he's always there in the front.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Go ahead, piss him off (which is no mean feat outside his known {{Berserk Button}}s). [[PunctuatedForEmphasis You. Will. Regret. It.]]
* CuddleBug: Loves to do this, mostly to his friends, but also to Sarah, even if she clobbers him for it.
* TheCutie: Easily the most cheerful, optimistic, and carefree of the Eds.
* DisguisedInDrag: At one point in "There's Mud in Your Ed".
* TheDitz: Though by the series finale he seemed to go back to at least his Season 1 intelligence.
** GeniusDitz: He's got an encyclopedic knowledge of B horror and sci-fi movies, and he can play the flute like a pro. Plus a few of the things he says are sort of profound, if you think about them long enough.
** Plus, he's the one who defeated Eddy's Brother via steel door and Newton's First and Third Laws of Motion.
* DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength: Even when he's not trying to, he sends people flying just by giving them a playful slap on the back.
* DreadfulMusician: Ed doesn't play the violin very well. Which is to say that bark peels off of trees, and bikes crumple. On the other hand, he has shown that he's pretty damn good at playing the flute. How good? He can make animals follow him in a single-file line (a la the Pied Piper) by playing it.
* DumbassHasAPoint: On occasion.
* DumbIsGood: Played straight, usually.
* DumbMuscle: He's the undisputed strongest kid in the cul-de-sac, as he's the only one who has carried a house without breaking a sweat. In comparison, Rolf has to put forth a mighty effort to uproot a full-grown tree.
** It runs in the family, apparently, as Sarah once slammed a ''car'' on top of Nazz.
* DungeonBypass: In "They Call Him Mister Ed", Edd does a mouse-in-a-maze experiment, with the cheese replaced with Chunky Puffs, Ed just breaks through all the cardboard walls. "That isn't how you go ''through'' a maze!" (even though, [[ExactWords technically]], it is)
* EquippableAlly: Sometimes, most usually as a bludgeon. Special mention goes the episode where the Eds try to be repairmen. Ironically, even though Ed caused most/all of the destruction in the episode, Eddy and Double D utilize him as the "ultimate tool" to ''try'' and fix Johnny's sink.
* {{Expy}}: Being the strongest character in the series and being a GentleGiant makes him comparable to Lennie Small from ''OfMiceAndMen'', with a noticeable touch of {{Reconstruction}}.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Ed will eat ''anything''. '''Anything'''. To date, he's eaten a camera, his mattress, a TV, Eddy, dirt, a key, a log, a soup bowl, a cereal box, a large snail, two teeth, some gutter gunk, Jimmy, a cactus, crayons, a sandal, a lava lamp, and a kitchen sink. He also chewed up and spat out the playground slide.
* FateWorseThanDeath: His friends are very important to him, so the possibility of losing them is considered this, as seen in TheMovie.
* FeelNoPain: See Made Of Iron below; in fact, he may be too stupid to feel pain.
* FishEyes: His default expression.
* FlowersForAlgernonSyndrome: In the episode with the magic boomerang that causes anyone that holds it to completely change their personality, Ed becomes incredibly smart whenever holding it and then reverts to his usual dumb self when he lets go.
* {{Foil}}: Non-hostile example towards Edd, in that he can be considered the polar opposite of him. He's idiotic, strong, and [[ThePigPen highly unhygienic]], while Edd is smart, weak, and a NeatFreak.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: An animal lover in general, but particularly obsessed with chickens.
* FunPersonified: A very fun loving person, always clowning around.
* GentleGiant: Ed is one of the biggest characters on the show and one of the nicest to others as well.
* GirlsHaveCooties: "Yucky, squishy, MUSHY GIRLS, Double D!"
** He doesn't have this problem with Nazz, though.
* TheGlomp: He has Edd and Eddy in a tight hug practically every episode.
* HanlonsRazor: Whenever he does anything mean, he usually tags along with what Eddy does and doesn't understand how mean he's being.
* HumanPackMule: Not that he actually minds.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Pretty often. Like in the Valentine's Day episode where his response to May giving him a Valentine's Day card is to scream and accidentally trample her.
** Also this in "I am Curious of Ed":
-->'''Ed''': Don't worry, Double D. It's not your fault you're so useless!
* [[KarmaHoudini Karma]] [=/=] IdiotHoudini: Occasionally. Like in the Halloween Special.
* KindheartedSimpleton: Despite his idiocy, he really means well and is generally friendly and good-natured.
%% * TheKirk
* TheKlutz: Tied into his TheDitz status.
* LargeHam: He has shades of this in Season 5 and the movie, though he still retains his Funny line generator.
* LethallyStupid: Of the three Eds, he's the one who causes the most damage, especially if [[StopHelpingMe he's trying to help.]]
* LightningBruiser: As demonstrated in TheMovie, not only he can endure ''a lot'' of pain and lift houses, he can run so fast that he managed to outrun kids with three different modes of transportation ''with only his bare feet and while carrying a whole car''.
* LiteralMinded: The source of a lot of misunderstandings.
* LosingYourHead: Eddy pulls off Ed's head in "I Am Curious-Ed". Ed then finds it and puts it back on his body...backwards.
* MediumAwareness: On occasion.
* TheMillstone: See NiceJobBreakingItHero.
* MrImagination: Also a RealityWarper. See below.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: He has virtually no muscles but he's still incredibly strong.
* NiceGuy: See GentleGiant and KindheartedSimpleton.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Most of the Eds attempts usually fail because of his stupidity.
** {{Subverted|Trope}} in the movie where he not only saved the Eds via Flintstone style transportation but also defeated Eddy's Brother.
* NightmareFetishist: With his oft-mentioned fondness for groady comics and sci-fi horror movies.
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: His grip on reality has been severely weakened by a near-constant diet of horror comics and B-movies. His idea for a scam in "It Came From Outer Ed" involves dressing his friends as skeletons and astronauts, making them pass each other pancakes, shouting "Evil Tim has beckoned you all, for you all will pay with your brains!", and then ripping up a stuffed bunny with his teeth. Yet he still considers this a piece of light hearted fun, even when the curse kicks in and he and his friends are mobbed by angry crows.
* NobleMaleRoguishMale: The noble to Eddy's roguish.
* NonSequitur: His icon.
-->'''Eddy''': Ed, you understand anything Double D said?
-->'''Ed''': Pass the mustard.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Being a cheerful, friendly {{Cloudcuckoolander}}, Ed acts like this with everyone.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Never confirmed, but it's a common AlternativeCharacterInterpretation among some fans.
* OcularGushers: When he cries, it usually takes this form.
* OffhandBackhand: Gives one to Eddy in "I Am Curious Ed" after he falls off a rotating stand.
* OffWithHisHead: Happened in I Am Curious Ed, through it did him and has it reattached...'head still on', thanks to [[ToonPhysics Animation Science]].
* OohMeAccentsSlipping: In "Is There an Ed in The House?" you can clearly hear Matt Hill's Canadian pronounciation of "gagged on his bones" when Ed reads a monster magazine to Sarah.
* PapaWolf: Do ''not'' mess with Sarah. He even physically chases off [[NiceGuy Double D]] when he thinks he's threatening her in "A Fistful Of Ed". He's pretty protective of his friends, too.
* PerpetualSmiler: Most of the time.
* PhraseCatcher: "ED!! I'm telling mom!"
* ThePigPen: Ed is perpetually filthy and terrified of soap.
-->'''Ed:''' Bad soap, evil soap, slippery sudsy scary soap!
* PluckyComicRelief: There's not a single episode where he does not provide any of it's humor.
* ThePollyanna: He's happy-go-lucky and always has a cheerful attitude even though he has possibly the worst home life of all the Eds (or so it seems, until the movie). Also, unlike Edd and Eddy, he doesn't seem to mind all the humiliations and punishments in most episodes and sometimes he even ''enjoys'' them.
* RampageFromANail: Ed goes on a rampage that genuinely scares the entire cast because he has a rock in his shoe.
* RealityWarper: Possibly due to his strict diet of B-Movies, Ed is even more loosely attached to reality than everything else.
** When he needs to hear something that Edd just said, Double D suddenly has a rewind button under that hat.
** When there is a balloon to be grabbed, Eddy's pocket chain turns him into a great helicopter.
** When Double D needs explanation to the [[DeliveryStork stork theory]], Ed can fly in order to demonstrate the act. And when things need to go up, Ed can make an elevator that goes to the moon out of junk that should never be used in an elevator. He somehow duplicated himself to carry an I-beam into the elevator, which shouldn't have been able to fit it.
** The upper exit of said elevator is a [[MindScrew microwave]].
** His ConstantlyCurious line of questioning warped time and space itself.
* RedheadInGreen: He wears a green jacket and is revealed to be a redhead.
* RunningGag: His lack of a chin.
** And his terrible hygiene.
* SarcasmBlind: This is why it is incredibly easy for Ed to fall victim to Eddy's [[DeadpanSnarker snarking.]]
* ShipperOnDeck: Implied to be this for Edd/Eddy, although in some episodes he also seems to have a crush on Eddy. He even kisses him on the forehead in "Out With The Old, In With The Ed".
* ShipTease: With [[OddFriendship Double D]], Eddy, [[StalkerWithACrush May]] and [[DudeMagnet Nazz]].
* SimpletonVoice: He has one.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: When Ed's imagination caused him to take the mantle of [[FanNickname Edzilla]], he terrorized the cul-de-sac, managing to destroy the local treehouse and the local playground, and sticking everybody save Eddy, Sarah and Double D to the wall of his basement with chewed-up Chunky Puffs.
* SuperStrength: Ed can ''lift a house as if it was a flower!''
** Oh, & one instance of him doing that, he was a ''toddler''.
* TemporarilyAVillain: PlayedForLaughs in "Little Ed Blue" and "The Day the Ed Stood Still".
* TenderTears: Surprisingly often, despite his cheerful personality.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Occasionally (but not quite constantly like Rolf). Often with sentences like "Good for Ed!", "Bad for Ed!" etc.
* TookALevelInDumbass: Ed was only marginally dim in the first few episodes. As time passes he becomes more and more spacey and barely able to form coherent sentences.
* TooKinkyToTorture: Often when the Eds are being punished Ed will actually enjoy the punishment.
** Rolf tries to get information out of Ed and he's exhausted by the end.
-->'''Rolf:''' Talk, Ed Boy!\\
'''Ed:''' [[LiteralMinded Hi Rolf!]]\\
'''Rolf:''' Talk, I say!\\
'''Ed:''' Hi Rolf!\\
'''Rolf:''' (exasperated) Talk, you son of a gun!\\
'''Ed:''' Hi Rolf! (the sun rises)\\
'''Rolf:''' (exhausted) Please...talk!\\
'''Ed:''' Hi Rolf!
* TooMuchInformation: Gives some from time to time.
-->'''Ed:''' I know my sensitive side! It has a rash.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Buttered toast and gravy are his two main favorites, though like his two pals Edd and Eddy, he also enjoys jawbreakers.
* TrashOfTheTitans: Ed's room is uninhabitable by human life, with such horrors such as a bathtub full of gravy, a lounge chair full of chicken, and a bed containing fungus, years-old food, ''live snakes and seagulls'', and lord knows what else.
-->'''Edd:''' ''(upon discovering said seagulls)'' Ed! How can you live this way!?
* UndyingLoyalty: To his friends. Even more so, to his "baby sister" Sarah.
* TheUnfavourite: Implied.
* UnstoppableRage: After the BerserkButton is pressed.
* WeaksauceWeakness: He is fearful of bathroom products and has a number of peculiar allergies.
* WhereDoesHeGetAllThoseWonderfulToys: Apparently one of Ed's monster models can ''[[BreathWeapon shoot fire from its mouth]]''.
-->'''Eddy:''' ...Nice toy.
* WouldntHitAGirl: One of the many reasons why Sarah will always beat Ed. Also, his mom forbids him from hitting girls.
-->'''Ed:''' I can't Eddy, my mom says I can't fight girls!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Edd/Double D]]
[[quoteright:161:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ed-Edd-n-Eddy-007_2833.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:161:Oh my!!]]

The smartest kid in the neighborhood, and the brains of the Eds. Neat and morally upright to the point of annoyance, Edd (AKA "Double D") is the oft-unheeded voice of reason in Eddy's schemes. Wears a stocking cap that he is never seen without ([[TheUnreveal onscreen, at least]]).

->'''Voiced by:''' SamuelVincent

* AddedAlliterativeAppeal: Fond of this, especially if he goes off into one of his excessive speeches.
* AdorablyPrecociousChild: Justified, as he's a pre-teen, but he still acts very mature for his age. Plus he has a childish fondness for jawbreakers, just like the other kids.
* {{Adorkable}}: Oh ''so much''. He's cute, geeky, neurotic, endearingly shy, kind, polite, and quite a ShrinkingViolet, especially around girls. And that's why all the girls (In-Universe and out) find him adorable.
* AffectionateNickname: He's usually called "Sweetie" or "Muffin" by [[StalkerWithACrush Marie Kanker.]]
** And he was called "Lambchop" by [[CrackPairing May]] in the Valentine's Day episode.
** Not really a nickname per se, but Sarah only called him "boyfriend" in "An Ed Too many", after she developed a crush on him. She [[StatusQuoIsGod reverts back to calling him "Double D" at the end of the episode]], but her crush remains.
* AllLovingHero: Despite being in a SadistShow, he's incredibly kind and caring towards everyone around him, no matter how much the other characters act like jerks. See TokenGoodTeammate.
* AmbiguousDisorder: He definitely has some form of OCD, but who's to say exactly how severe it is or if it's the cause of his signature social anxiety rather than some other problem.
* AmbiguouslyBi: While he does have a crush on Nazz like most of the male cast, he does have the hints of going both ways (his only complaint of Ed trying to kiss him under the mistletoe was someone might be watching for starters).
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Despite being by far the most feeble of the trio, he can often perform amazing feats with just a few calculations and some BambooTechnology.
* BambooTechnology: His scrap-made inventions. He makes whole cities and theme parks out of ''cardboard'' - and they may or may not work.
** He once managed to make a motorized go-kart out of stuff lying in an alley.
** Then, he made a working plane out of common stuff found in a school. It makes you wonder why he doesn't try out for the [[KidsNextDoor KND]].
*** Especially since it's confirmed that the two shows take place in the same universe.
*** He could be too old.
** His best work would be the Thigamajig from Season 4. [[{{Magitek}} It's the mechanical equivalent to a genie's lamp with unlimited wishes]]. And it's still made partly out of cardboard.
** In ''FusionFall'', he constructs working cardboard ramparts to keep out the Fusion monsters.
*** To put the above into perspective, [[WesternAnimation/DextersLaboratory Dexter, THE boy Genius of Cartoon Network]] creates energy forcefields around infected areas that the invaders are implied to be able ot travel through. Edd's fortress keeps them out enitrely. True, it is charged with Imaginiary Energy, being boxes from Fosters, but these invaders are made of goo, and are good at slipping through any crack.
* BeleagueredAssistant: His role in the group.
* BerserkButton:
** Edd owns 5,239 ants, and don't you dare mess with them.
** Don't laugh at some one else's zits or other facial blemishes; things will get [[BadPun ugly.]]
** Don't sneeze on him either. He doesn't give a shit if you're a girl; he will show you ''no'' mercy.
** And don't play mean pranks on him. More specifically, don't fake your own death. [[RageBreakingPoint Seriously]].
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He's one of the nicest people in the show, but push him far enough and he will use those smarts of his to utterly DESTROY you.
* BlessedWithSuck: Occasionally regards his intelligence this way, most prominently in "For Your Ed Only".
* BreakTheCutie: In "A Fistful of Ed", "Cleanliness Is Close To Edness" and TheMovie.
* {{Catchphrase}}:
** "Oh dear."
** "Oh my!"
** "It's all fun and games until someone XXXX". Said whenever a scheme goes wrong -- which is to say, often.
** Also when he does something, he says said activity [[RuleOfThree three times]] from time to time.
** Curse (enter irksome thing).
** "I took the liberty to XXXX."
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: He is ''much'' more relaxed and willing to go along with Eddy's schemes in early episodes, compared to how he is always second-guessing Eddy's schemes and spazzing out at the first sign of trouble in his later appearances.
** [[JustifiedTrope Sort of justified with time progressing since he'd have seen schemes fail multiple times prior to the change in attitude.]]
*** Also, in early episodes he was more "normal" in the sense that, while he still smart and fussy, he was fine with things like monster movies or dumpster-diving to find glass bottles to recycle, while in later episodes he'd decry the former for being violent and the latter for being messy.
* ChickMagnet: Double D has had the most girls crushing on him in the length of the show, compared to ''everyone else''. Other than his StalkerWithACrush Marie, there's also Sarah who develops a PrecociousCrush on him, and it's revealed that he is the only boy that Nazz really likes besides Kevin. There's also the ShipTease with May in the Valentine's Day episode, although she only fell in love with him due to being hit by a love arrow fired by the Sarah and Jimmy cupids.
** CluelessChickMagnet: He's still shy and awkward around girls.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: Despite taking part in Eddy's scams, he's probably the most innocent and morally righteous character on the show, in contrast to [[{{Jerkass}} Eddy.]]
* ClassRepresentative: In season 5, he's very enthusiastic about school and has an active school life, as he's being a journalist of the Peach Creek Junior High Tattler and the president of the Happy Clucker's club and the safety clubs. In "Mission Ed-Possible", he sends report cards to Ed's and Eddy's parents when they get bad grades in school and reacts negatively when they don't want to do their homework. In several episodes, like "Cool Hand Ed", it seems like that he's the only person of the cast who takes the school very seriously.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: Well, he tries, anyway.
* CollectorOfTheStrange: Has a collection of skulls and bugs.
* CovertPervert: "Hand me Down Ed" has a boomerang that affects the holder in strange ways. What happens to Double D when he holds it? He [[GettingHotInHere complains how hot it is]], and then begins to [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar strip sensually with no shame whatsoever]] [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything (he even clings on to a pole!)]], so much it even gets Eddy shocked. Subverted, since when Eddy takes the boomerang away from him, he's suddenly aware of his lack of clothing and instantly goes embarrassed, trying to cover himself up.
** In "Boys Will Be Eds", he was one of the boys in the cul-de-sac who were enchanted by Nazz and only hear her say "[[BlahBlahBlah Blah Blah Blah]]" when she talked.
** His SesquipedalianLoquaciousness tendencies can make him use words that can fly past younger viewer's heads, such as "amorous". He even has to explain the word to Eddy!
*** In similar lines, he picked up on Eddy's "[[GettingCrapPastTheRadar Snowjob]]" joke pretty quickly.
** This may be reading too much into it, but he seems a little eager to tell Jimmy and Sarah [[TheTalk where babies come from.]]
* TheConscience: Not that he really gets listened to.
* CowardlyLion[=/=]TheSoCalledCoward: Shows up, mainly in "The Day The Ed Stood Still" and the end of TheMovie.
* CrackPairing: InUniverse with May.
* CrazyPrepared: If "To Sir With Ed" and "Thick As An Ed" are any indication, he carries a loofah and an ''entire shower'' around with him at all times.
** Taken UpToEleven with his school briefcase. The sheer number of devices, compartments and items it contains stretch even ToonPhysics to their limits.
* CursedWithAwesome: He's an excellent pedal steel guitar player, but he detests the instrument, which makes you wonder how he got so good.
** His parents probably got him lessons taught by a good tutor if Edd can play it with ''his feet'' while ''reading''.
* CuteAndPsycho: In "Cleanliness is Next to Ed-ness". Otherwise he's the OnlySaneMan.
* CuteBookworm: InUniverse, he's considered "cute" by the other girls and he loves books.
* CuteButCacophonic: He can really get talking. Great example is "Key to My Ed".
-->'''Edd:''' That's right, Eddy. [The key opens] Something dear and personal, like a box of photographs, or a diary with pages of truth and duration, or as simple as a locket of love. It's our responsibility to see that this key returns to its forsaken owner so life can- [Eddy tries to pry something open with the key, it flings loose and flies into the gap in Edd's teeth.] Mortified? Yes. But I won't let myself fall prey to such shallow emotion. Not now. [continues talking through the shift in scenes] There's a fellow human crying for help, trying to mend the unraveled ball of yarn handed to them. Maybe that's the kind of world you wish to live in, Eddy, where the unyielding and the indifferent supersede the malevolent. I say-\\
'''Eddy:''' SHUT UP, DOUBLE D! Ed, you understand anything Double D said?\\
'''Ed:''' [[SevenMinuteLull Pass the mustard.]]
* TheCutie: He's very sweet and easily the cutest character on the show.
* DeadpanSnarker: ''Very'' snarky and sarcastic, especially towards Eddy. His most snarky episode by far is "Dim Lit Ed".
** Really, he's pretty much snarky to everyone. Not even [[DudeMagnet Nazz]] is free from it!
-->'''Edd''': Miss Nazz, page Jimmy for me, would you?
-->'''Nazz''': Sorry, Mr. D, but I'm up to my neck with filing. ''([[StealthPun filing her nails]])''
-->'''Edd''': [[SarcasmMode Of course you are.]]
* DisguisedInDrag: Dresses up as a mermaid to cheer up Jimmy in "Tinker Ed".
** Then in "Little Ed Blue" where he is dressed up as a cavewoman in the film they watch.
* DoubleEntendre[=/=]InnocentInnuendo: Rather prone to this, almost a secondary running gag. For example, he complained [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything that he was "violated" when Ed mushed his lips onto him]] while thinking there's jawbreaker behind him. And when Eddy did a ForcefulKiss onto him, instead of giving a WhatTheHellHero speech to him, his reaction was to being stunned to the point of where he can barely stand.
* DramaQueen: A male example. See LargeHam below.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Edd is easy to mistake for a girl at first. His high pitched voice doesn't help.
** In the series finale, Big Picture Show, Eddy's brother mistakens him as Eddy's girlfriend.
* {{Foil}}: Non-hostile example towards Ed, in that he can be considered the polar opposite of him. He is smart, weak, and a NeatFreak, while Ed is idiotic, strong,and [[ThePigPen highly unhygienic]].
* TheFinickyOne: Being a fussy, neurotic NeatFreak.
* FragileFlower: Both mentally and physically. [[BewareTheNiceOnes He can sometimes slither away from this, however.]]
* FriendlyEnemy: With [[JerkJock Kevin]], of all people, on a few occasions.
* FriendToBugs: He collects them.
** He's also the only one of his friends who isn't scared of bugs - when Ed freaks out over a spider on his shoulder, Double D simply chastises him for "frightening it" and deposits it out of the window.
* FunnySchizophrenia: "Cleanliness is Next to Ed-ness" has him going insane and rolls himself in filth...and then the conscious of his germophobic side appears and scolds him. He even calls him his "former self", [[StatusQuoIsGod though he goes back to being germophobic by the end of the episode.]]
* GadgeteerGenius: He makes an industrial-grade excavator out of junk he found around his neighborhood.
* GeekPhysiques: Of the skinny geek variety.
* GenderBlenderName: Not his first name, but his [[EmbarrassingMiddleName middle name]] which is Marion. Expectedly, he gets teased about it.
* GentlemanAndAScholar: Edd is a genius but he's genuinely friendly and nice to everyone and he never thinks of himself as superior for his brains. He is portrayed as sensitive, thoughtful, and reasonable.
* GentlemanSnarker: Usually.
* [[GoGetterGirl Go Getter Guy]]: He gets good grades at school, is talented in mechanics, gets along with the kids (sometimes when Eddy isn't around) and has an active social life at his school (he is a journalist of the Peach Creek Junior High Tattler and the president of the Happy Clucker's club and the safety clubs).
* HehHehYouSaidX: Edd saying [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar "Sextant"]] in TheMovie draws this reaction from [[AllMenArePerverts Eddy]] and [[CovertPervert Ed]]. [[LateToThePunchline He's a little slow to get what they're giggling about though.]]
* HypercompetentSidekick: Often serves as this to Eddy.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He doesn't promote violence according to "A Fistful of Ed", but doesn't hesitate to get into a fight with someone if they ever pressed any of his [[BerserkButton berserk buttons]].
* InnocentProdigy: Edd is depicted as a genius whose maturity makes him the OnlySaneMan. Yet the nature of some of the show's more risque jokes often completely escapes him.
* InSeriesNickname: Other than being [[OnlyKnownByTheirNickname Only Known By His Nickname]] Double D, he's often called "Sockhead" by [[TheNicknamer Eddy]], and "Double Dork" or "Double Dweeb" by [[TheNicknamer Kevin]].
* InsufferableGenius: His goody-goody and self-righteous personality puts him in this category sometimes.
** Insufferable genius he may be, but it's not like he's ''wrong'', given that his friends are often engaging in behavior that is either crazy or downright unethical. Edd can probably be excused, given his particular situation, for thinking highly of his moral standards in comparison.
*** It still doesn't change the fact he is an InsufferableGenius. For example, in "Too Smart for His Own Ed", he had already prepared his medal stand for the Spelling Bee competition that year, despite the fact he hadn't won it yet, and he didn't (Ed did).
*** Then there's also in "Dim Lit Ed" where he says that he's "SurroundedByIdiots", word by word. [[OnlySaneMan While it's]] [[JerkassHasAPoint partly true]], it's still a pretty smug assumption.
* TheLancer: To Eddy's TheLeader.
* LargeHam: He can tend to overreact over the simplest things, being a NeatFreak and all. Case in point, in "Out With the Old, In With the Ed", he broke down crying when he forgot the ''paperclips'' for his school supplies.
* [[LetMeAtHim Let Me At Her!]]: See "WouldHitAGirl" below.
* LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain: The one and only time his hat was pulled off. He quickly put it back on and tells Ed and Eddy that they didn't see ''anything''. It's never brought up again.
* LovableNerd: A sweet, {{Adorkable}}, cute nerd.
* MadnessMantra: "Shower shower shower".
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: The Feminine Boy to Marie's Masculine Girl.
* MommasBoy: It's heavily implied he is this when his mom is home. And pretty much the entirety of "[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Momma's Little Ed]]".
* MoralityChain: He frequently acts as the [[WesternAnimation/SouthPark Kyle to Eddy's Cartman.]]
%% * MrFixit
* MoralityPet: While being an AntiHero himself, he often serves as this to Eddy in case the latter goes too far.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone:
** When he creates "Edzilla" in "The Day The Ed Stood Still".
** Says this almost word for word in TheMovie After he tries to write to his parents that he's leaving due to a scam that has GoneHorriblyWrong.
** Also in "A Fistful Of Ed" when he hurt the kids ''by accident''.
* NeatFreak: To the point that in one episode that took place in autumn, he ''organizes the leaves by color as they fell''.
** And also:
-->'''Edd:''' Must... fold... socks! *folds socks*
* NerdsAreSexy: A ChickMagnet both in-universe and in fandom.
* NervousWreck: Tends to be extremely neurotic, especially from season 2 onwards.
* NeverBareheaded: He gets very concerned about being seen without his hat, and when it actually comes off (which is never seen by the audience), the others seem shocked by what's underneath.
* NiceGuy: Sure, he's [[DeadpanSnarker snarky]] and neurotic, but he's also one of the sweetest male characters in Western Animation, and this is the main reason why his fangirls love him so much.
* NiceHat: His trademark black hat. It hides something on his head, so much so that he's completely unwilling to take it off and would rather die then do so.
* NoRespectGuy: Well, from Eddy and Ed. The other kids tend to prefer him to the other two.
* NoodleIncident:
** He claims to have "a history" with dodge ball in "Ed in a Half-Shell," specifically "the dodgeball incident" which he seems to be suffering some form of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder over, as he starts cowering in fear and crying, no that it takes much to [[DramaQueen make him do so.]]
** Also in "3 Squares and an Ed". You have to wonder what caused Edd to invent an opera-singing machine.
*** Or a model volcano that acts as a high-power vaccum that sucks Eddy's ''entire head ino it.''
* NotSoAboveItAll:
** Often he berates the other Eds for laughing at something while trying to stifle his own giggling (such as in "Boys Will Be Eds").
** In a specific example Eddy tries wearing carpet as underarm hair, Edd points out how stupid the whole idea was when it blows up in Eddy's face... before removing similar carpet pieces from his own.
* OnlyChildSyndrome: Averted. He's the only Ed to be an only child.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: To avoid confusion with Ed, Edd is simply called "Double D" by everyone (except maybe his parents).
* OnlySaneMan: Much more reasonable and mature than his friends. And probably everyone else.
* OutOfCharacterMoment[=/=]TookALevelInJerkass[=/=]JerkassBall: Sometimes acts like a jerk in episodes.
** He comes off as a little smug in "Mission Ed-possible" after delivering Ed and Eddy's bad report cards to their parents.
** He is even more of a {{Jerkass}} in "Sorry Wrong Ed", where his obsession with [[SmugSnake being right about the phone not being cursed]] makes him ''completely'' overlook Eddy getting injured repeatedly. It makes him look like that being right is more important to him than the welfare of his friends.
* {{Pacifist}}: ZigZaggedTrope. He outright says he is one in "A Fistful of Ed", but when his [[BerserkButton berserk buttons]] are pressed ("Is There an Ed In The House" and The Movie for instance), he doesn't hesitate to give the one responsible a beating.
* PerpetualFrowner: While occasionally he was seen smiling, less than half of them last very long.
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Eddy's red.
* RunningGag: His chin and his fixation on his hat.
** His obsession with cleanliness.
** His tendencies to use [[SesquipedalianLoquaciousness overly long words]] so the other kids don't understand him.
* SanitySlippage: In "Cleanliness is Next to Edd-ness". His shower is out of order and asks the kids around the cul-de-sac if he could use theirs. Getting no results, and only filthier, he slowly grows more insane...and proceeds to roll in dirt and dump trash on himself while [[CuteAndPsycho giggling maniacally]], in manners that remind you of [[WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow Ren Höek.]]
* SarcasticDevotee: He often disagrees with Eddy and tends to be sarcastic, but he still remains loyal to his friends and supports them no matter what.
* SeriousBusiness: Has tendencies of this. He overreacts when his magnifying class is stolen. Also, when Ed and Eddy pull a prank on him by making fake sticky notes. He also overreacts about Ed's lucky chunk of cheese in "Thick as an Ed".
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Often to the annoyance of his less-educated peers.
** To the point where in "All Eds Are Off" the boys bet that they can go a whole day without doing certain habits, Edd's is doing this.
* ShipTease: With [[OddFriendship Ed]], [[VitriolicBestBuds Ed]][[HoYay dy]] (especially in TheMovie), [[DudeMagnet Nazz]], [[PrecociousCrush Sarah]], [[MasculineGirlFeminineBoy Ma]][[StalkerWithACrush rie]], May (in the Valentine's Day episode), [[TransparentCloset Jimmy]] (in "A Fistful of Ed" and "Is there an Ed in the house?")
* ShrinkingViolet: He has trouble standing up for himself because of his timid nature. And he becomes extremely shy and awkward around girls, as seen in "May I Have This Ed?"
** In the opening credits, he even faints right at the end of the song.
* SickeninglySweethearts: With May in the Valentine's Day episode. He even calls her "Turtledove".
* SquishyWizard: Edd can make ''anything'', a mini air-craft, a motor scooter, large buildings (out of cardboard), etc. However, he's the weakest of the characters.
* TheSmartGuy: The smart one in the group and the one one who built most of Eddy's scams.
%% * TheSpock
* StepfordSmiler: Implied. While he may be a NiceGuy, there are signs that show that he is depressed because his parents are never around. His OCD moments don't help.
%% * StepfordSnarker
* StraightMan: The most fitting of the role.
* SuperOCD: He has some tendencies.
** This even becomes rather problematic in the Movie- Edd's obsession with labelling everything means that he keeps leaving clues for the other kids to track the Eds down.
* SurroundedByIdiots: "Dim Lit Ed".
* TeamMom: He has gone so far as to wipe crumbs from Ed's face and scold Eddy for poor behavior.
* TearfulSmile: In "A Fistful of Ed", when he looks after the sprout of a flower while crying, he turns around when he hears a sound. Hoping it's Ed who's come to make up with him, he smiles tearfully.
* TerrifiedOfGerms: He put on plastic gloves AND a surgeon's mask when taking care of a sick Sarah. And when he caught her cold anyway, he claimed that bacteria strike the instant one's guard is down. Germs were also his first complaint when forced into a bathroom vent.
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: "Oh my."
* TokenGoodTeammate: The most moral of the Eds (Ed is also good, but ''very'' [[HanlonsRazor stupid]]). In fact, he's the only Ed the other kids treat with anything resembling respect.
** Being the OnlySaneMan and a genuinely NiceGuy in a SadistShow, he can be considered the TokenGoodTeammate not just of the Eds, but ''in the entire main cast''. While he ''has'' his NotSoAboveItAll moments, he doesn't fall into the KidsAreCruel territory as much as everyone else.
* TookALevelInBadass: In the movie.
* TVGenius: He's highly intelligent, loves to use "big words", and the other characters will often see him as an InsufferableGenius. But he also shows a lot of common sense, even if he can't understand that other people maybe aren't as interested in reading books and getting knowledge as he is.
* TwitchyEye: In "Cleanliness is Next to Ed-ness", [[SanitySlippage when past insanity point]], the eye-twitching is the first thing you see him do.
* UndyingLoyalty: To his friends, though some people wonder why he [[WithFriendsLikeThese still hangs out with them.]]
* UnfortunateName: Edd is not the most masculine boy, it's even worse with a nickname like [[GagBoobs Double D]].
* UnrequitedLoveSwitcheroo: In the first episode, he seems to have a crush on Sarah but she's just not interested. Yet later that season, this is reversed of her becoming a StalkerWithACrush and Double D scared she wont leave him alone. She stops stalking him by the end of the episode, but her crush on him remains and is hinted in later seasons.
* TheUnreveal: Does anybody know ''what's under his hat?'' Considering the shocked expressions of Ed and Eddy, it's much be something big.
* UnwantedHarem: In "May I Have This Ed?" he unwittingly attracts the attention of Sarah, Nazz and Marie. And he didn't even want to go to the school dance.
* VocalEvolution: In earlier episodes, he sounded much more raspy, calm and vulnerable. Later on, his voice is more high-pitched and clean, speaks more stressfully (possibly to fit his SuperOCD) and a [[NoIndoorVoice little louder.]]
* WeekendInventor: Often he's the provider for anything Eddy needs for a scam.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: His maturity becomes more evident in later seasons. In season 1 he acts more like a normal boy.
* WouldHitAGirl: Believe it or not, in "Is There an Ed in the House?" he nearly attacked Sarah for harassing him. Ed has to hold him back.
** Also, he didn't hesitate to get into a fight with Lee as "The Masked Mumbler". He got [[CurbStompBattle utterly crushed]].
* YouGotSpunk: Eddy's brother tells him that when Edd attempted to stand up for Eddy, right after he beats up Edd ''[[GrievousHarmWithABody while using Eddy as a club]]''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Eddy]]
[[quoteright:280:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ed_Boy_3_9052.jpg]]

The self-styled leader of the Eds, whose height seems to be inversely proportional to his ego. Pursues his schemes with a determination that borders on stubbornness, and which would be admirable if he wasn't such a penny-pinching weasel most of the time.

->'''Voiced by:''' TonySampson

* {{Acrofatic}}: He is overweight, but he can move around with no effort. In fact, whenever the Eds are seen running, he's usually seen in front of them.
* AllMenArePerverts: He owns/owned a porn stash and [[ADateWithRosiePalms has lots of used tissues under his bed]].
** He's terrified of the Kankers, yet in " 1+1 = Ed", they see the Kankers in the bath and he ''sniggers'' and asks Ed if he "saw anything".
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Although Eddy usually falls under this trope with his friends, there are a lot of signs throughout the show that ''he'' is the only one that the kids really hate and how Ed and Edd would be liked more if they didn't hang out with Eddy. In the movie, his FreudianExcuse about his brother is revealed, and then he is forgiven and accepted by the kids along with his friends.
* AllergicToRoutine: Eddy gets bored easily, which may be another reason why he likes scamming so much.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: This is how he views Kevin sometimes, which motivates him to challenge Kevin, but Eddy usually loses. Same goes for his brother--evil or not, Eddy knows he can never be as cool as his brother.
* AmbitionIsEvil: His main "negative" trait besides {{greed}}.
* AnimalsHateHim: Eddy states that he hates birds. In "Will Work for Ed," he got attacked by a rooster. Also, in "Sorry Wrong Ed," he got trampled on by hippos. In "It Came From Outer Ed", crows were summoned by a curse made by Ed's "scam" which caused them to attack him and the other Eds.
* AntiVillain: Ends as Type II (Woobie Anti-Villain), after his Freudian excuse is revealed.
* AttentionWhore: If the scheme isn't about money or revenge it'll be about drawing attention to himself.
* BerserkButton: Do not call Eddy short. Do not take money from him. And do not ruin his scams.
** Don't make fun of his weight, either. He gets very defensive when Ed comments that Eddy "weighs a lot". (Although coming from someone with SuperStrength, anybody would be insulted.)
*** Do '''NOT''' get in the way of Eddy or his magazines, unless you want to have ''giant calmps attached to your FACE!''
* {{Badass}}: Have you even SEEN what he went to get that badge from Rolf ?!
* BigBrotherWorship: He idolizes and worships his cool older brother. Deconstructed ''hard'' in TheMovie, when it mostly comes down to fear and respect.
* BigFun: He likes to think he is.
* BookDumb: Eddy detests school and learning, which may be the reason.
* BornUnlucky: Even in episodes where he hasn't done anything, he ''still'' gets a lot of slapstick, like in "Who's Minding The Ed?"
* BorrowedCatchphrase: In the episode "Homecooked Eds", while he cleans his furniture, he says "filthy filthy filthy" (one of Edd's catchphrases).
* BrattyHalfPint: He ''is'' one of the shortest kids and has his bratty moments. See SpoiledBrat below.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: He does more than any other character.
-->'''Eddy:''' What, and ruin the plot?
* BreakTheHaughty: In the movie, it shows that all of his failures have taken their toll on his self-esteem, and Edd abandoning him for a few moments was the last straw before he breaks down and admits that he is a suck-up loser, and then his meeting [[TearJerker with his brother...]]
* BrokenBird: Once you know of the absolute hell he went through before the show and see how everyone else treats him, it can be a little hard to watch earlier episodes.
* TheBully: Usually towards his friends and/or Jimmy.
* CainAndAbel: The Abel to his brother's Cain.
* CartoonJuggling: He juggles a variety of items that Ed throws at him, from chairs to Double D, in order to entertain Sarah while babysitting. [[AmusingInjuries It goes fairly well until Ed throws him a cactus]].
* CasanovaWannabe: He's always talking about where "chicks" hang out/what they like, but his attempts are often pretty unsuccessful.
** He opens a "Kiss the Hunk" stand in the Valentine's Day episode, making the excuse about the lack of girls as "they must be freshening up in the can!"
** And he puts up a "Win a Date with Eddy! Sign up here!" sheet when he learns about the school dance, but the only person who who signs it is Ed.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: The "greedy jerk" aspect of Eddy was much more toned down in the early episodes, where he was more jovial and lucid, and only slightly inconsiderate and manipulative to Ed and Edd rather than outright abusive. His manic temper and selfishness become more and more defining traits as seasons pass.
* CharlieBrownBaldness: He appears to only have three foot-long hairs coming out of the back of his head.
* CharacterTic: Whenever Eddy gets annoyed, disgusted, or just plain bored, [[BigOlUnibrow his eyebrows connect]].
* TheChewToy: Usually gets it worse than his friends.
* DeadpanSnarker: Usually towards Ed.
* {{Determinator}}: When he has his mind set to a goal, he refuses to give up (due to his stubbornness, but still). A perfect example for this would be in the episode "The Good, The Bad, and The Ed."
* DiscoDan: His room looks like it never left the 1970s.
* DisguisedInDrag: Dresses up as a fairy in "Tinker Ed".
* EmbarrassingNickname: "Pipsqueak" by his brother.
* EnragedByIdiocy: Eddy sometimes gets annoyed by other people's idiotic behavior around him, especially [[TheDitz Ed's]].
* EvilMentor: To Jimmy in "Ed in a halfshell".
* FatBastard: To this and the trope below, Eddy is noticeably the chubbiest character in the series.
* FatIdiot: Subverted. He tends to fail at school...[[BrilliantButLazy but that's due to laziness rather than actual stupidity, since Eddy is shown to be quite clever at times]].
* FatalFlaw: {{Greed}}, the trait that often causes Eddy to drag his friends into big trouble.
** SevenDeadlySins: It's probably not intentional, but he seems guilty of all seven of them, although Gluttony is debatable.
* ForcefulKiss: Gives a big, fat, juicy one to Edd in the episode "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS4E12YourEdHere Your Ed Here]]" because he was blackmailed by Kevin.
** Tries to give one to Lee in "A Twist of Ed".
* FreudianExcuse: Made explicit in the movie. His older brother is a ''PSYCHO''.
* HairTriggerTemper: Almost as short-tempered as Sarah.
* HatesBeingTouched: Most certainly due to his brother.
* HeelFaceTurn: In the film.
* HellBentForLeather: He seems very disappointed when Kevin takes the "sweet jacket" he begins wearing in "A Fistful of Ed" off him after Jimmy beats up Double D, even going so far as to [[ItMakesSenseInContext chastise Double D for losing the fight]].
* HiddenDepths:
** He comes off as pretty BookDumb, but he occasionally makes references to people/events you wouldn't expect him to be aware of, like calling Double D "Rembrant" when printing fake dollars. Plus, his scams are ''sometimes'' quite clever.
** In TheMovie it's revealed in that he was beaten rather cruelly by his big brother. Hence, the reason behind his behavior throughout the show in the first place.
* HonestJohnsDealership: More like an Honest John [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption in training]].
* HotBlooded: He's reckless and impulsive to ridiculous levels.
* HumiliationConga: He goes through this in "An Ed Is Born" when he tries to make a home movie.
* HypocriticalHumor: In "Ed Overboard", he accuses the Urban Rangers of being "so full of themselves".
* IJustWantToBeSpecial[=/=]IJustWantToHaveFriends: Implied in the show, made explicit in TheMovie.
* IWantMyMommy: He sometimes shouts "Mommy!" if he's in a lot of pain/about to receive a lot of pain.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: He's revealed to have this at the end of The Movie. There were hints given throughout the series that he might not feel as awesome as he claims himself to be, however; and it turns out that his {{Jerkass}} tendencies and high opinion of himself were a mere facade to cover up a nasty Inferiority Complex. You can thank his brother for that.
* ItsAllAboutMe: In later seasons, especially.
* JadedWashout: In the show he seems ridiculously overconfident but, as revealed in the movie, he's actually aware that he's a hated, unrespected, pathetic excuse of a {{Schemer}} and he doesn't take it very well, [[StepfordSmiler not at all.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: He's loud, obnoxious, arrogant, scams his peers and likes to think that he's better than everyone else.
** JerkassFacade: He reveals in the movie that he was only acting like a jerk because he thought he'd be cool if he acted like his brother.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He is one [[HiddenHeartOfGold way deep down]].
* KarmaHoudini: In "A Fistful of Ed".
* KickTheDog: Post {{Flanderization}}. He does this almost ''everytime'' someone tries to be nice to him.
** {{Deconstructed|Trope}} in TheMovie where the kids, even Edd, have enough of his crap and want him killed.
* LargeHam: Good ''god''. He got hammier and hammier each season.
* TheLeader: Type I or Type III.
* LovableRogue: Pre-{{Flanderization}} at least.
* ManipulativeBastard: In the episode "Ed in a Halfshell" he tries (successfully) to make Jimmy a manipulative scammer like himself.
* ManlyTears: In TheMovie, combined with BrokenTears. First, he cries when admitting that everything was his fault. Also, when Ed defeats his brother and he admits that he made everything up about his brother.
%% * TheMcCoy
* MoneyFetish: Although his main goal is to get jawbreakers, he is very obsessed with money and always dreams or talks about becoming rich.
* TheNapoleon: He's hot-tempered and aggressive as well as one of the shortest characters on the show.
* {{Narcissist}}: He acts like this throughout the series. Deconstructed in the movie, when his narcissism is revealed to be a facade, since he admits he doesn't think highly of himself.
* NeverMyFault: Eddy has problems with admitting he's done something wrong, such as refusing to acknowledge that he drove Rolf into a depression after (unintentionally) disrespecting his culture in "Dueling Eds". (It took a lot of nagging from Edd and Ed to try and make up for it.)
** ItsAllMyFault: In The Movie.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: It's usually ''his'' fault that the Eds always get punished by the kids (whether he believes it or he doesn't).
** Finally [[{{Deconstruction}} deconstructed]] in TheMovie where he breaks down from the pressure of constant failures and admits that he's a "foul, wannabe loser".
* TheNicknamer: He often comes up with nicknames for many of the characters including Edd (Sockhead), Ed (Monobrow, Lumpy), Kevin (Shovelchin), Jonny (Baldy, Melonhead), Rolf (Stretch, Dracula, Rolfie-Boy), Jimmy (Curly Q) etc.
* NoIndoorVoice: The other kids call him out on this, numerous times. Even wagering a bet that he could go 24 hours without screaming.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Despite the fact he HatesBeingTouched, [[{{Hypocrite}} he does tend to get in people's faces a lot.]] And he often carries both Ed and Edd around by their collars or gets into wrestling matches with other kids.
* NobleMaleRoguishMale: The roguish to Ed's noble.
* ObnoxiousSnarker: He's a very hammy snarker with a NoIndoorVoice.
* OverlyLongTongue: Not all the time, but it can stretch to absurd lengths. Sometimes it even trails behind him when he runs.
** As revealed in "Laugh Ed, Laugh", he can wear it on his head like a turban.
* PerpetualFrowner[=/=]SmugSmiler: The latter when being a SmugSnake, and the former when he's not.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: He's one of the shortest members of the cast but he can lift a lot for a guy his size and age. Nowhere near Ed, Sarah or Rolf's level, but he can apparently carry quite a large amount if he wants to.
* PornStash: Eddy is implied to have one, or have had one, in "The Luck of the Ed".
** He seems to found it at the end of "It Came From Outer Ed."
* ThePrankster: As seen in some episodes and the movie.
* PuppyDogEyes: A rare young male example of this.
* RabbleRouser: Has been described as such by both creator Danny Antonucci and voice actor Tony Sampson, though he doesn't stir up mobs so much as he just simply tries to stir up a little excitement within the cul-de-sac, particularly when it pertains to whatever ZanyScheme he's cooked up for him, Ed, and Double D.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Edd's blue. However, when it comes to his brother, ''he's'' the Blue Oni.
* RiseOfZitboy: "X Marks the Ed"
* RunningGag: His lack of a neck.
** And his flat head. Rolf even rests a teacup on it in one episode.
* SarcasmBlind: Sometimes he takes Edd's sarcastic remarks as comments rather than insults.
* {{Schemer}}: His defining trait. He provides the trope's page quote.
* SeriousBusiness: Has tendencies of this when his scams are ruined.
** He also takes being "manly" rather seriously.
* ShipTease: With Edd (especially in TheMovie), Ed, Nazz, and Lee.
** There's a bit of it with [[BelligerentSexualTension Sarah]], at least in the boomerang episode.
* SkewedPriorities: Most of the time. He usually cares about his scams and getting money and jawbreakers over the health and safety of his friends and the kids he scams.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Deconstructed in TheMovie, see JadedWashout above.
* SmugSnake: Again, deconstructed hard once you learn the truth.
* SourOutsideSadInside: Much like Sour Outside, '''BROKEN''' Inside.
* SpoiledBrat: Although not as much as Sarah, he shows tendencies of this, especially on the Christmas special when he was acting like a brat because he didn't get the presents he wanted, saying, "Christmas is the time of year where your parents are supposed to buy you everything you want!" He even tried tricking the rest of the Cul-de-sac into giving him ''their'' presents.
** He seems to have a lot of material possessions, judging by his bedroom.
* StepfordSmiler: Type A. He seems confident and manly, but it's shown that it's was all a [[BeneathTheMask mask]] to hide the inferiority complex he got from his brother's abuse. A [[BeneathTheMask mask]] he made in naive belief that he would be popular if he acted like he did.
* TastyGold: Eddy bites into a quarter he gets from Kevin. He gets splinters on his tongue.
-->'''Eddy:''' Your wooden money's no good here, Pecos Kev!
* TeamDad: To the other Eds.
** Funnily enough, he also pulls this on Jimmy sometimes, even if it's usually for manipulative purposes like, "Ed in a Halfshell".
* TearfulSmile: In TheMovie, after Edd makes up with him. Then also by the end of the movie where Edd says that he has learned his lesson.
* ThisMeansWar: Eddy declares this to Kevin when the big-chinned guy accidentally ruins his scam.
-->'''Eddy:''' That's it! Run! Hide! But I hope you're a light sleeper, 'cause I'll be all over you like a bad itch! It's war, I tell you!
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: Tiny Guy to Lee's Huge Girl.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Despite being TheLeader, he's the most devious and anti-Heroic of the Eds.
* TongueTied: Eddy is this when he's around Nazz.
-->'''Kevin:''' What's the matter, dork? Can't talk to girls?
* TookALevelInJerkass: Eddy over time, but [[TookALevelInKindness reversed]] in TheMovie.
* TragicVillain: Subverted. He realized the errors of his ways and was able to redeem himself.
* TripleNipple: Eddy claims that Ed has three nipples (like that guy from [[Film/TheManWithTheGoldenGun James Bond]]) to prevent Nazz from discovering that they are naked in her pool.
* UngratefulBastard: No use trying to help him, he just won't listen.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: Subverted in TheMovie.
* VillainProtagonist: While not as evil as some of the examples, is still a cynical con artist who will do every dirty trick in the book for money. Including stealing Christmas presents from children. He has [[FreudianExcuse his reasons]], but still.
* TheVoiceless: He becomes this in "Button Yer Ed", when a fly gets lodged in his throat, only allowing him to make wheezing, squeaky noises.
* [[WhenSheSmiles When He Smiles]]: It's rare, but when he actually does a [[SincerityMode genuine smile]] for whatever reason it's actually rather nice. Especially since it's rare seeing Eddy sincere about anything.
* WouldntHitAGirl: He's often heard saying to Sarah several times, "If you weren't a girl, I'd-!" (Presumably because he knows Sarah could clobber him, but still.) Also Nazz punches him in the face in one episode - knocking out several of his teeth - and he makes no effort to fight back.
** Averted in in the Valentine's Special where he has no qualms about getting into a fight with Lee Kanker after he believed that she "possessed" Edd into falling in love with May. Though this is the ''only'' time he actually fights the Kankers back.
* YoungEntrepreneur: Tries very hard to be this in order to get jawbreakers. However, each failure brings him closer and closer to the DespairEventHorizon until Edd leaves him and epically [[TearJerker snaps]]. Then [[DomesticAbuser his brother]] [[KnightOfCerebus shows up]] [[FromBadToWorse and everything goes to hell from there]].

!The Kids
[[folder:As a whole]]
[[quoteright:340:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/_Eddy_Ed_n_Seek_2575.jpg]]

* BullyAndWimpPairing: Sarah and Jimmy.
* ADayInTheLimelight: "See No Ed".
* DependingOnTheWriter: How much they are sympathetic (or not) and their attitude towards the Eds.
* [[DisproportionateRetribution Disproportionate]][=/=]MisplacedRetribution: If one Ed causes any trouble, they always beat up ''all three of them'' to a merciless degree.
* EnemyMine[=/=]GoKartingWithBowser: Before the ending movie, the Eds and the other kids do team up with each other from time to time, most notably in the alien invasion special. The kids can be downright friendly when they aren't be ripped off or pranked.
* EveryoneHasStandards: At worst, most of them despise the Eds, and gleefully punish and/or humiliate them when given the chance, [[DisproportionateRetribution even when what they did wasn't entirely their fault]] or [[MisplacedRetribution they had nothing to do with it at all]]. At best, they can force themselves to tolerate them as long as they behave...which rarely lasts long, usually thanks to Eddy. However, ''all'' of them were completely appalled by the way Eddy's brother brutally abused him and Edd, even the ones who were the biggest assholes toward them.
* FriendlyEnemy: Rolf, Nazz, Jonny and (sometimes) Jimmy can be this to the Eds. At least, until they aren't pushed too far by their scams.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Implied heavily in "See No Ed", where it appears a long duration of being harassed by the Eds has left them rather unhinged. Jimmy even admits in remorse he constantly wished to be rid of them forever.
* {{Hero Antagonist}}s: To the Eds' {{Villain Protagonist}}s.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Rolf and Kevin.
* HypocriticalHeartwarming: In TheMovie.
* IdiotBall: In "Dim Lit Ed", along with Eddy and Ed (though justified; he's always stupid). It's constantly lampshaded by [[OnlySaneMan Double]] [[SurroundedByIdiots D]] in that episode.
* JustEatGilligan: Many of their problems with the Eds wouldn't be happening if they just ignored their scamming. Then again, [[LethallyStupid the Eds sometimes cause trouble anyway.]]
* KarmaHoudini: Mostly Kevin and Sarah, but whichever of them is holding the JerkassBall generally falls into this.
* KidsAreCruel: They bully the Eds sometimes when they don't provoke them. They even bully each other when the Eds aren't around.
* KickTheSonOfABitch: There are times when they'll beat up Eddy when Eddy was being a {{Jerkass}} anyway.
* KnightTemplar: In TheMovie.
* NiceMeanAndInbetween: Nazz and Rolf (nice), Sarah and Kevin (mean), and Jonny and Jimmy (in-between).
* OnlyChildSyndrome: Apart from Sarah, they are all only children.
* OnlyOneName: Except Nazz, whose last name is revealed in the movie.
* ParentalIssues: Each of them—except maybe Kevin and Nazz—if paid attention carefully, are implied to have problems with their parents. Sarah and Jimmy are implied to be spoiled by their parents, Rolf was expected to perform all the chores of his farm, and Johnny was allowed to keep a piece of wood as friend in public.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Sarah and Nazz's Girly Girls to The Kankers' Tomboys.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Jawbreakers.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: The cul-de-sac just has Nazz and Sarah.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With each other.

[[folder:Sarah]]
Ed's bossy kid sister, who seems inspired by [[WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}} Angelica Pickles]]. She frequently cows her older brother into doing her bidding through either blackmail ("I'm telling Mom!"), emotional manipulation, or threats of violence. Seems to have a bit of a crush on Edd.
[[quoteright:161:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ed-Edd-n-Eddy-016_4460.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:161:I'm telling mom!!!]]

->'''Voiced by:''' Janyse Jaud

* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: To Ed.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: She shows this towards Ed in "Honour Thy Ed", "Hand Me Down Ed" (although it was just the boomerang's effect) and the end of the movie.
* AxCrazy: Well, not to Eddy's Brother's levels, but responding to your brother's idiocy by kicking the snot out of him is '''not''' what any mentally stable person would do.
%% * BadassAdorable
* BareYourMidriff: A bit young for it...
* BerserkButton: She has a virtually endless list of these, but do not harm Jimmy when Sarah's around.
** Ed, Eddy, and Jonny's mere existence seems to be one for her.
* BigSisterInstinct[=/=]MamaBear: She's Jimmy's bodyguard.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Implied towards adults. She does a very bad job hiding her true colors to the other kids.
* {{Blackmail}}: Sarah's usual trump card.
* BrattyHalfPint: She's a bratty kid, being very spoiled and temperamental.
* CainAndAbel: The Cain to Ed's Abel.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "ED!!"
* ControlFreak: Sarah is overbearing and controlling, especially with Ed.
* CreepyChild: She's psychotic, manipulative and easily agitated by others (especially her brother and his friends) and will often go on a violent rampage against anyone who annoys her or who bothers her best friend Jimmy.
* CuteBruiser: She apparently has Ed's genes for strength, as she has been shown to have the strength to carry a car. She's cute on occasion.
* CuteAndPsycho: She goes full-blown AxCrazy at times, and she's still a little girl.
* DeadpanSnarker[=/=]LittleMissSnarker: Not at first, but she becomes snarkier by season 3.
* EnfanteTerrible: She's downright evil at times.
* [[EntitledBastard Entitled Bitch]]: Her attitude towards her brother.
* EverythingsBetterWithPrincesses: Dresses as one for the Halloween episode.
* EverythingsSparklyWithJewelry: She absolutely ''freaks'' when she loses one of her earrings in "High-Heeled Ed".
* {{Expy}}: She seems very similar to [[WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}} Angelica Pickles.]]
* FatalFlaw: ''[[UnstoppableRage Wrath]]''. Seriously, this girl always gets angry.
* {{Fiery| Redhead}} and EvilRedhead
* GlassCannon: Implied anytime a kid actually manages to hit her back. She cowered before Ed the moment he ''talked'' to her in a threatening tone.
* HairTriggerTemper: BIG TIME.
* HeelRealization: Implied at the end of the movie.
* HotBlooded
* HypocriticalHumor: She calls Eddy "fish face", yet her face looks identical to a fish.
* {{Jerkass}}: Especially to Ed and Eddy.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She shows genuine kindness and concern over her friend Jimmy. Also, while she generally can't stand Ed and his friends, she has a soft spot for Edd. She becomes a full-fledged one in the movie when she gives her brother a hug and starts being nice to him, Edd, and Eddy.
** JerkassHasAPoint: A lot of the time her perpetual anger at Ed isn't justified, but there are occasions where she is within her rights to be angry (Eddy stealing her diary, Ed spending her money on jawbreakers in "Brother, Can You Spare An Ed" and her room getting trashed ''several'' times over the series, for a start). She is also right in telling Ed he can't keep a bunch of farm animals in the house in "Who's Minding The Ed?", even if she went about it in her typically obnoxious way.
*** She also rats out Ed to the Kankers when he accidentally steals their Ship-Inna-Bottle, but they were tearing the cul-de-sac apart looking for it.
* KarmaHoudini: See below.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: After many seasons of getting way with her bullying, she finally gets hers in the movie.
* KickTheMoralityPet: In the episode "Truth or Ed", Jimmy tries to console Sarah, but she ends up injuring Jimmy.
* LackOfEmpathy: Towards Ed, especially.
* LargeHam: She can be pretty damn hammy at times.
** EvilIsHammy: And arguably the most sadistic characters on the show, aside from the Kankers and Eddy's brother.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: Despite being a terrible sister to Ed, she has this relationship with Jimmy.
* LittleMissBadass: Despite being a young girl she's extremely strong and able to beat up everyone on the show.
* LittleGirlsKickShins: Subverted.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: To Jimmy. When [[StalkerWithACrush she goes after]] [[NiceGuy Double D]] in "An Ed Too Many", Jimmy is '''really''' depressed when she's not around.
* LovingBully: Well, she does have a crush on Double D and is still hinted after "An Ed Too Many" ("For Your Ed Only", "Is There an Ed in the House?", "Ed or Tails", "May I Have This Ed?", "High-Heeled Ed"), though it doesn't save him from a thrashing. At the end of "For Your Ed Only", she writes in the diary that her mother says that if she shows any mercy, people will be walking over her. So you could say she's sort of a {{Tsundere}} type A towards him.
* [[BigBrotherBully Little Sister Bully]]: Granted it's implied she only gets away with it because of Ed's docile treatment. [[TheDogBitesBack The one time this changes,]] she cowers before him.
* [[ManipulativeBastard Manipulative Bitch]]
* [[MeanCharacterNiceActor Mean Character Nice Actress]]: Janyse Jaud has met up with children after all.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Masculine Girl to Jimmy's Feminine Boy.
* MeaningfulName: Sarah means "princess" in Hebrew, and considering she's [[ParentalFavoritism The Favourite]] and spoilt rotten...
* MoodSwinger: In regards to Double D, she's definitely this. She can go from getting ready to beat the snot out of him, to giggle in his presence, to kick his ass, ''in less than a minute''. This is especially evident in "Is There an Ed in The House?".
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Like her brother, She has no muscles but she's still very strong.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Dishes this out frequently to the Eds.
* NoIndoorVoice: Seriously, she's ''always'' screaming.
* NotNowKiddo: Does this in regards to Jimmy's dream in "The Eds Are Coming".
* PantyShot: An unusual offscreen example happens in "One Of Those Eds" when she tries getting a quarter that's stuck to the sidewalk, Eddy yells, "Sarah, I can see your uuuundies!" Leading her to stomp off in embarrassment.
* PetTheDog: In "Honour Thy Ed", she screams for help when she thinks Ed and the others are being attacked.
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: The Pink Girl to Jimmy's Blue Boy.
* PinkMeansFeminine: She wears a pink vest, although she is not all that feminine. In one episode when it was school picture day, she's forced into a ridiculously girly, poofy dress and complains it's giving her a rash.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: Able to [[CurbStompBattle curb stomp]] people who are bigger than her.
* PrecociousCrush: She developed a crush on Edd in "An Ed Too Many". Later episodes imply that she's still crushing on him, but that doesn't mean she'll show him any more mercy then Ed and Eddy.
** This seems to be on the advice of her mother, saying if you show mercy then people will walk all over you.
* RedheadedBully: She's a redhead and frequently bullies other characters, especially Ed and his friends.
* RedOniBlueOni: Red to Jimmy's Blue.
* SayMyName: Will scream "JIMMY!" if he gets hurt.
* SecretDiary: In which she writes about Edd.
** Curiously, she also does a flip-animation of Eddy as well...
* SlasherSmile: Pulls these off when about to dish out a beat-down.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: She has a thing for Double D, presumably because of his kindness and good nature.
* SpoiledBrat: She practically defines this trope. Granted, it's implied her mother favours girls.
* StalkerWithACrush: To Double D in "An Ed Too Many", but in a toned-down way.
* TheStoolPigeon: Every time she threatens Ed that she will "tell mom" over menial deeds Ed commits.
* SuperStrength: She can ''throw a car without any trouble at all!''
* SuperStrongChild: She's one of the youngest characters but still extremely strong.
* TalkingToHerself: With Lee Kanker, not that they interact much.
* TinyTyrannicalGirl: One of the smallest members of the cast and ''easily'' the most violent.
* {{Tomboy}}: She's ''very'' strong, violent and aggressive. This explains her MasculineGirlFeminineBoy relationship with Jimmy.
** TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Tomboy to Nazz's Girly Girl. But when it comes to the Kankers, she's a Girly Girl.
** TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Sarah loves playing dress-up, having tea parties, keeps a diary and her prized possessions are her "dollies".
* {{Tsundere}}: Type A. You will very rarely see the dere side, but it's there. She usually shows her dere side only to Jimmy, although she is shown to be good friends with Nazz. (Most of the time.)
* [[UngratefulBastard Ungrateful Bitch]]: No matter how many times he tried to protect her, Sarah will never love her brother back. Until the movie
** There ARE hints Sarah does care about Ed, she just hides it.
* UnrequitedLoveSwitcheroo: In the first episode, Double D seems to have a crush on her but she's just not interested. Yet later that season, this is reversed of her becoming a StalkerWithACrush and Double D scared she wont leave him alone. She stops stalking him by the end of the episode, but her crush on him remains and is hinted in later seasons.
* YouAreWhatYouHate: She's quite a bully towards Ed, but she hates it when people try to bully her, and she especially hates people bullying her friend Jimmy.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Jimmy]]
Sarah's best friend, an effeminate young man with a retainer, a habit of frequently getting injured, artistic leanings, and a substantial collection of stuffed animals. * {{Adorkable}}: Being a cute, delicate, accident-prone kid who cries easily and has a lot of Woobie moments.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Don't get us started.
* BadDreams: Has a ''very'' weird one in "The Eds are coming".
* BewareTheNiceOnes:
** In "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS4E1IfItSmellsLikeAnEd If It Smells Like An Ed]]", the Eds once pushed Jimmy too far when Eddy gave him an atomic wedgie in front of all the kids. For that, [[{{Revenge}} Jimmy framed the Eds for multiple crimes, and sold them to the Kankers]].
** In "A Fistful of Ed", Eddy pissed off Jimmy so much that he beat Double D to a bloody pulp.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Shows tendencies of this in later seasons of the show.
-->'''Jimmy:''' Sarah, that's so devilish... I love it!
* BracesOfOrthodonticOverkill: After he broke them on a bowling pin. (It was disguised as an ice-cream.)
* BreakTheCutie: See BewareTheNiceOnes.
* ButtMonkey: Bordering on BornUnlucky, almost as much as Eddy.
* CampStraight: He has had crush on Sarah from the looks of it.
** He bakes souffles, has taught a tai chi class, Shares an interest in fashion with Sarah and Nazz, and chose a day with Sarah and Nazz over go-karting.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "Jeepers" is common for him.
** Also, "Sarah! Owwie!"
* CharlieBrownBaldness: He has an odd, poofy hairstyle (described by other characters as resembling a chicken's rear end) which blends seamlessly with his skin color.
* TheChessmaster: In "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS4E1IfItSmellsLikeAnEd If It Smells Like An Ed]]".
* TheChewToy: He is EXTREMELY accident-prone.
** The early episodes heavily lampshaded this. Virtually every scene he was in, he was sporting anything from bandages to arm casts and a neck brace from unseen injuries.
* CompanionCube: His toy rabbit, Mr. Yum Yum.
* CorruptTheCutie: In "Ed in a halfshell", Eddy teaches Jimmy everything he knows—and while Jimmy does revert back to normal at the end, he retains the knowledge he gained of trickery and whatnot and uses it against the Eds on several occasions.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: In "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS4E1IfItSmellsLikeAnEd If It Smells Like an Ed]]" and "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS5E22AFistfulOfEd A Fistful Of Ed]]".
* CryCute: When Kevin tells him fairytales aren't real in "Tinker Ed". Even ''Eddy'' feels sorry for him.
* TheCutie: Seemingly cute and innocent to a fault. He has a dark side though, see CorruptTheCutie.
* DeliberatelyCuteChild: Sometimes.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Although he despises The Eds (usually Eddy), he is frightened and appalled at the beating that Eddy received from his brother.
** In "See No Ed", the Cul-de-sac kids think the Eds have disappeared permanently and Jimmy admits even though he wished for it every birthday, he feels guilty about it.
* FragileFlower: He faints more than anyone else in the show put together.
** He's also prone to crying a lot.
*** Rolf even refers to him as "The confused and delicate one".
* HyperCompetentSidekick: To Sarah.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: In more episodes he mentions his dream of becoming famous.
* InTouchWithHisFeminineSide: See CampStraight.
* JerkassBall: Is prone to this post-flanderization.
* {{Keet}}: Jimmy is not really hyperactive or loud but he's still a cute little boy who is InTouchWithHisFeminineSide.
* KiddieKid: He's often childish, playing with stuffed animals and believing in fairy tales.
* KidHasAPoint: His hatred towards the Eds is semi-justified, as he aways gets injured by them.
* LikeBrotherAndSister: With Sarah.
* LovableCoward: He's wimpy, easily scared and he always needs Sarah to protect him.
* MadeOfPlasticine: Not only is he the scrawniest weakling in the show (even moreso than Edd), but getting his foot TOUCHED by a CLOTHES-PEG incapacitates him somehow.
** Then again, he's probably the biggest slapstick magnet in the show- he gets crushed ''by a tree'' in one episode, and he's usually fine by the end of the episode.
* ManipulativeBastard: In "If It Smells Like An Ed".
** He sometimes manipulates Sarah into beating up the Eds for him, like in, "An Ed In A Halfshell" when he lies and tells Sarah the Eds forced him to eat dirt.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Feminine Boy to Sarah's Masculine Girl.
* MoralityPet: For Sarah.
* NiceGuy: When he's not being a BitchInSheepsClothing, he's generally innocent, sensitive and kindhearted.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Dished one to Edd in "A Fistful Of Ed".
* NoodleIncident: When he tries to pick up a quarter stuck to the ground using an eyelash curler. And then gets driven away in an ambulance.
-->'''Kevin:''' Looks like eyelashes aren't the only thing that thing curls!
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: The Blue Boy to Sarah's Pink Girl.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue to Sarah's Red.
* {{Revenge}}: See BewareTheNiceOnes.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: He's the Sensitive Guy to ''everyone'' else's Manly Man (yes, even Edd and the girls are more masculine than him).
* SleepMask: He is seen wearing one in "A Glass of Warm Edd".
* TheStoolPigeon: In one episode when he snitches to Sarah about Edd accidently breaking Ed's violin.
** He lampshades it in the movie by screaming "Oh I'm such a snitch!" when he's forced to confess about everything he knows about the NoodleIncident between the Eds and The Kids' and their whereabouts and goals.
%% * SweetTooth
* TemporarilyAVillain: In "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS4E1IfItSmellsLikeAnEd If It Smells Like An Ed.]]"
* TenderTears: Unsurprisingly, he cries more often and much more than any other character.
* TransparentCloset: To an outrageous degree.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: Sometimes. When paired with Sarah, he acts smug and can be an asshole.
* WeaksauceWeakness: His foot gets broken by a ''clothespin''.

[[folder:Nazz]]
A cute, somewhat dim girl-next-door type. She frequently reduces the boys in the neighborhood to sweaty, nervous wrecks of early-adolescent lust, apparently without realizing it. It can also be said that she's the second most realistic character. She doesn't mind the Eds too much, unless they really annoy her or injure her. Not to be confused with ToddRundgren's former band.

* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Possibly why she seems to have a thing for Kevin.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: She's pretty and nice.
* BerserkButton: Nazz will get preachy and defensive if you've done something wrong.
-->'''Nazz:''' Where do you get off?! You guys are totally acting like jerks! Why don't you leave poor Jimmy alone? He's younger than you, you know, and BlahBlahBlah...
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Usually, she wouldn't be doing anything bad to anybody, including the Eds, but in the Halloween special, Ed, who has watched too many monster movies, mistakes her for Medusa and puts her in cement. Afterwards, she gets so pissed off and wants the hides of not just Ed, [[DisproportionateRetribution but his friends, too!]] Somewhat out of character, but that's not her only OutOfCharacter moment. See that trope below.
* BrainlessBeauty: Downplayed. See DumbBlonde below.
* BreakTheCutie: Nazz ''almost'' undergoes this after finding how how much Kevin values his bike more than her. Until he semi-apologizes for it, she turns seriously jaded.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Originally she was just a sweet, pretty GirlNextDoor. Later seasons turned her into a DumbBlonde.
* TheChick: She's TheHeart of the Cul-de-Sac.
* CoolBigSis: She tends to be the one to stick up for Jimmy if Sarah isn't there to do it, and she seems on fairly good terms with the latter, particularly in "For Your Ed Only" when, upon hearing Sarah's diary is missing, immediately marshalls Kevin and Rolf to help find it.
* DitzyGenius: While Nazz is smart, mature and a good student, she has her ditzy DumbBlonde moments from time to time.
* DumbBlonde: Shows tendencies of this, especially in season 5.
* DreadfulMusician: She isn't a very good tuba player.
* DudeMagnet: The only guy who ''doesn't'' have a crush on her is AmbiguouslyGay Jimmy. And Rolf, for some reason. It becomes a plot point in "Boys Will Be Eds".
* EveryoneLovesBlondes: She has blonde hair and almost all the boys want her.
* FlatCharacter: Prior to her {{Flanderization}}, she was pretty bland and one-dimensional compared to everyone else.
* FormerlyFat: To near cartoonish levels in a flashback.
* [[TheGenericGuy The Generic Girl]]: Though she gets more characterization in the movie.
* GirlNextDoor: She's a cute and feminine girl, who's genuinely friendly to everyone.
* GirlyBruiser: Surprisingly enough, she doesn't often fight, but Nazz ''can'' pack a punch.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: She's a nice, beautiful, blonde GirlNextDoor.
* HelloNurse: Played straight especially in "Boys Will Be Eds", and also in other episodes occasionally like "Smile For The Ed". In ''Pop Goes The Ed'', Eddy and Kevin [[LustfulMelt melt]] at the sight of her.
* HiddenDepths:
** She is able to recite union labor laws on the spot.
-->'''Nazz:''' Babysitters gotta know this stuff...
** She also makes a fire in the Movie.
** She gets mostly good grades according to her report card in "Mission Ed-Possible.". Especially surprising since this was a season 5 episode, the season where she acts like a DumbBlonde the most.
* LethalChef: According to "Mission Ed-Possible", where her grade in cooking is a D, but her macaroni and cheese might be the only dish she can make that tastes good.
* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: The Light to the Kankers' Dark.
* NiceGirl: The only female character who is this trope and arguably the nicest character of the entire show, besides Double D.
* NotSoAboveItAll: In "Boys Will Be Eds" she berates all the guys for laughing at Jimmy (see BerserkButton), yet in "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS4E1IfItSmellsLikeAnEd If It Smells Like an Ed]]" she laughs at Jimmy along with everyone else. She's also seen laughing at Eddy (again, along with the other kids) in various episodes.
* OddNameOut: Has the strangest name compared to the other characters.
* OnlySaneWoman: Well, she's the only one that doesn't have some strange feature or trait.
* OutOfCharacterMoment[=/=]TookALevelInJerkass:
** She snaps at the Eds in "Once Bitten, Twice Ed" during the raccoon exam.
** Also, in the episode "To Sir With Ed", when she humiliates Eddy in his house when she was supposed to be babysitting him.
* OutOfFocus: Especially in later seasons, she's rarely the main focus of the episodes.
* ShipTease: With Kevin, especially in TheMovie, Edd, and Eddy.
* SingleGirlSeeksMostPopularGuy: Kevin. And in "Ed, Pass it On" it's heavily implied she had/has a crush on Eddy's Brother. At least till the Movie, anyway.
* SmoochOfVictory: Nazz honors Double D with a hug and a peck when he prepares to [[ItMakesSenseInContext sacrifice himself to stop Ed's rampage]]. Eddy gets one too after surviving his brother.
* TalkingToHerself: With May Kanker.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Girly Girl to Sarah's Tomboy.
* TookALevelInDumbass: In some of the later episodes. In "Too Smart for His Own Ed" even Edd, who has a crush on her, gets annoyed by her ditziness.
* TotallyRadical: Not to Kevin's extent but holds her own. She still has the habit when she's an old woman in "Take This Ed and Shove It".
* {{Tsundere}}: Type B. She's normally quite sweet and easy-going, but sometimes she can be pretty harsh.
%% * TwentiesBobHaircut
* VerbalTic: Dude!
** Duh, as well, particularly in later seasons.
* WolfWhistle: Can be heard occasionally when she's on screen.

[[folder:Kevin]]
An athletic kid who is usually seen riding on or working on his bike, playing sports, or trying to impress Nazz. He thinks the Eds are a bunch of "dorks", and isn't afraid to make his opinion of them known once at least once an episode. Other than that, he seems to be the most realistic kid in the neighborhood when compared to everyone else.
[[quoteright:191:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ed-Edd-n-Eddy-012_8522.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:191: [[VerbalTic Dorks]]!!!]]

->'''Voiced by:''' Kathleen Barr
* TheAce: Kevin is the cool, athletic and popular jock.
** BrokenAce: He apparently had a troubled past about Eddy's brother. And he's terrified of needles.
* AfraidOfNeedles: In "This Won't Hurt an Ed".
* AllMenArePerverts: As seen in "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS4E1IfItSmellsLikeAnEd If It Smells Like An Ed]]" when Eddy uses a photo of a bikini-wearing Nazz to distract Kevin and he drools over it. Also in "See No Ed", when Nazz's pants fall off, he lustfully says "awesome."
* AnnoyingLaugh: Very annoying, especially when he's laughing at someone (usually Eddy).
* BigManOnCampus: Definitely.
* TheBully: Mostly to the Eds, and sometimes to Jonny or Jimmy.
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: One episode had this happening when Kevin accidentally foils Eddy's scheme of the day.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "Dorks!"
* CharlieBrownBaldness: Although a flashback episode shows he actually used to have normal hair.
* CompanionCube: His Bike. Borders on CargoShip in the Movie.
* DeadpanSnarker: He can be snarky, especially towards the Eds.
* DependingOnTheWriter: Oh boy, in some episodes Kevin is a defensive, but understandable character who you can relate to at times (who wouldn't get mad at some kids destroying your house?) Other times, [[{{Jerkass}} not]] [[TheBully so]] [[KickTheDog much...]]
* DirtyCoward: At least for one episode he did. In ''See No Ed'', while everyone gets trapped by the Ed's scam, a paranoid-induced Kevin leaves to save himself.
* FieryRedhead: Bordering on EvilRedhead on his bad days.
* ForTheEvulz: His actions mainly in "Your Ed Here" and "Smile For the Ed". Other episodes he does this too, it's just occasionally and OutOfFocus.
* FriendlyEnemy: With Edd on a few occasions. See PetTheDog.
* FreudianExcuse: It's implied his spiteful attitude towards Eddy has something to do with the latter's brother.
* GoodIsNotNice: He's arrogant, full of himself (even moreso than Eddy), cynical and sarcastic but he's not really a bad guy either (see PetTheDog). How benevolent he is usually [[DependingOnTheWriter Depends On The Writer]].
* GrumpyBear
* HairTriggerTemper: Not as much as [[TinyTyrannicalGirl Sarah]] and [[TheNapoleon Eddy]], but he mostly wants to solve his problems with other characters by beating them up.
* {{Hammerspace}} : Tends to pull his bike out of nowhere.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: As shown in "See No Ed" he is rather paranoid of the Eds and their scams, even when they aren't bothering him. Possible FreudianExcuse for his less provoked treatment towards them.
** InspectorJavert: Even when the Eds' schemes technically aren't frauds, he tries to stop them anyway. It helps that [[ForTheLulz Eddy always call them "scams" anyway]].
* {{Jerkass}}: Mostly to the Eds. Particularly when he picks on them without being provoked.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's generally nicer to the other characters. And at the end of TheMovie he finally accepts the Eds as his friends and offers them some of his jawbreakers.
** JerkassHasAPoint: Kevin can be obnoxious but his hatred towards the Eds is quite understandable, considering the chaos caused by their scams in every episode.
** JerkJock: He tends to play the archetypal cool kid. Girls like him, he's got a sweet bike, he's good at sports, and [[TotallyRadical he wears his hat backwards]]. As icing on the cake, his dad conveniently works at the "jawbreaker factory" - which gives Kevin an unlimited supply of the series' Holy Grail.
* KarmaHoudini: Often, in the episodes where he makes fun of the Eds. Especially in "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS4E12YourEdHere Your Ed Here]]".
* KickTheDog: What he did in "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS4E12YourEdHere Your Ed Here]]" is probably his lowest point. See MovingTheGoalposts.
* TheLeader: Seems to be this for the rest of the kids. A Type III or Type IV.
* LightningBruiser: Kevin is perhaps the fourth physically strongest character in the series, but his prime trait is riding his bicycle at ludicrous speed.
* ManipulativeBastard: In "Ed Ed And Away", possibly the only time he got back at the Eds for a scam nonviolently.
* MovingTheGoalposts: In the episode where he learns Eddy's EmbarrassingMiddleName, he uses the blackmail material to make Eddy perform all sorts of humiliating stunts, and at the end of the episode, he ''tells everyone the name anyway''.
* NiceHat: He always wears a red hat.
* TheNicknamer: He always calls the Eds "Dorks" or some variations of it ("Dork, Dork and Dorky"), sometimes calls Edd "Double Dork" or "Double Dweeb" and he also calls Jimmy "Fluffy". He also calls Jimmy and Sarah "squirt" on occasion.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Dishes this out frequently to the Eds.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Slightly. He's the only character to have swirly markings in his ears, as opposed to 3 or x markings.
* PetTheDog: Several times with other characters, but moments like this with the Eds are rare.
** In a couple of episodes he struck up a polite conversation with Double D, simply because Double D is kind, unlike Eddy, who is the one who usually antagonizes Kevin in the first place. He even calls Double D "hombre" (pal).
** In "Pick an Ed", he's very friendly to the "new guy" Carl (Eddy's alter-ego).
* {{Pride}}: He rivals Eddy at this.
* RedheadedBully: Once in a flashback, it has been revealed that he had red hair.
* RedheadInGreen: He wears a green shirt.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Rolf's blue.
* TheRival: He and Eddy compete a lot. Kevin usually wins.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Manly Man to Rolf's Sensitive Guy.
* ShipTease: With Nazz, especially in TheMovie!
* SitcomArchNemesis: To Eddy.
* SkywardScream: DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORKS!!
* SmallNameBigEgo: Subverted (the small name part, at least), since he's one of the most popular kids.
* SmugSuper: He's proud to be cool and often acts arrogant and boastful.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In "[[Recap/EdEddnEddyS4E12YourEdHere Your Ed Here]]" and "Smile For The Ed".
* TotallyRadical: Especially the way he talks.
* UngratefulBastard: When the Eds saved him from the Kankers, instead of thanking them, he acts nasty to them.
* VerbalTic: DORKS! He seems unable to think of a better insult- he's out of the bet first in "All Eds Are Off".
** Says "man" a lot too.
* WouldntHitAGirl: In the movie, when Nazz slaps him, he doesn't hit her back. Maybe because he doesn't want to hurt Nazz but still...
** Subverted in "Little Ed Blue" when Sarah hits him with a soda bottle and he attempts to hit her back [[FoodSlap with food]], but it misses. Though that was more playful than fuelled by malice.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Rolf]]
An oddball foreigner who runs a farm in the backyard of his home, and frequently rambles about either his oddball family or the oddball customs of TheOldCountry, which was formerly named {{Cloudcuckooland}}, (and suggested to actually be Norway.) He's usually tolerant of the "Ed-boys", unless he becomes a direct target of one of Eddy's scams.
[[quoteright:167:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ed-Edd-n-Eddy-015_175.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:167:Ed-boys!!!]]

->'''Voiced by:''' Peter Kelamis

* AmbiguouslyBrown: He's brown skinned and his racial background is unknown.
* ArchEnemy: Whoever those wolf people from TheOldCountry were, he refers to them as such.
-->'''Rolf''': The chinless Ed-boy is in league with Rolf's ''sworn enemy!'' (''tosses a wolf trinket at Edd's feet.'')
* ArtifactOfDoom: He was the original owner of the cursed phone until he did some ridiculous ritual to get rid of it.
* AuthorAvatar: The Eds may be part of Antonucci's personality, but Rolf's backstory is based loosely off Antonucci's.
* {{Badass}}: Nominally, he's a FunnyForeigner, but on some occasions, he's done some pretty amazing stuff. Like duelling armed with a fish and beating his opponent to within an inch of his life, uprooting a large tree with his bare hands and cracking open a cast iron furnace.
** BadassNative: Being an immigrant from The Old Country.
** CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He's pretty friendly most of the time, but he's the second strongest kid in the cul-de-sac, besides Ed. He beat Eddy to an inch of his life (with fish), took down the Cupid Imps that caused multiple [[CrackPairing crack pairings in the group]] by SQUIRTING LEMON JUICE INTO HIS EYES, beat Eddy to an inch of his life ''with a sore back'', and pulled a huge tree out of the ground with his bare hands and ''tongue''.
** "The Good, The Bad and The Ed" is a perfect example of his badassery.
* BerserkButton:
** Do not affiliate yourself with wolves in any manner.
** Don't mess with his customs. Or his animals.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He's a very nice person, and isn't usually bothered by the Eds...but trust me, you do NOT wanna push his {{Berserk Button}}s.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Has displayed this towards Jimmy a couple of times, like in "Here's mud in your Ed" when he helps him scam Eddy after Eddy cheats Jimmy out of his money.
* BigEater: If it's meat, he'll eat it. And a lot of it. In "Tinker Ed", he ate all of his balony when he thought someone was going to steal it from him; it was a '''huge''' load.
* BigOlUnibrow: Type II.
* BluntMetaphorsTrauma: Occasionally.
* BoisterousBruiser: Rolf a is fun-loving, friendly guy who's extremely strong and can destroy his opponents easily.
%% * BuffySpeak
* TheCassandra: Sometimes, like in the episode "Sorry Wrong Ed".
* CelibateHero: Strangely, he never shows any romantic interest in DudeMagnet Nazz, or any other character (male or female) on the show.
** Plus he remained the only character unaffected by the cupids in the Valentine's day special.
** He does get rather excited by the "Ms Ardous Fieldworker pageant" on TV, though, eagerly pointing out his favourite contestant (Gretchen) to Kevin.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Rolf is the strongest character in the series after Ed, and it's possible that his strength could be a result of all of his farm work. To the point where he can uproot a ''large tree'' right after digging up a giant hole.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}
** {{Cloudcuckooland}}: Rolf's "[[TheOldCountry old country]]" has some ''seriously'' bizarre traditions.
* CrazyCulturalComparison: Everything from Rolf.
* DiscoDan: His TV is huge, but has a screen about the size of a belt buckle, and he uses a typewriter for typing class.
* FarmBoy: He works on his parents' small farm.
* FriendToAllLivingThings: He owns and takes care of quite a few animals including three pigs (one named Wilfred), a goat named Victor, at least six chickens, a cow named Beatrice, and five sheep.
* FunnyForeigner: He comes up with odd traditions (many of which involve fish) and sayings ("Do not burn the candle at both ends, as it leads to the life of a hairdresser") from his home country in nearly every episode.
* GoodIsNotSoft: See UnstoppableRage.
* [[VillainousGlutton Gluttony]]: Although Rolf is farrrrrr from being a villain. See BigEater above.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Kevin, most of the time.
* HotBlooded: Combined with LargeHam and BoisterousBruiser.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: [[CookingDuel Duels]] in the Old Country are done with fish. [[TestosteronePoisoning Like men]].
* InTheNameOfTheMoon: Rolf pulls does this along with a BadassBoast when he captures Ed in the Season 5 episode "No Speak Da Ed".
-->'''Rolf:''' '''QUAKE AND QUIVER LIKE A JELLYFISH, DOGGY-DOO-DOO ED-BOY!''' For in the name of the Great Shepherd Elders, '''ROLF WILL GRILL YOUR STRUDEL UNTIL YOU CRY LIKE A TEENSY-WEENSY BABY!'''
* LargeHam: Probably the hammiest character in the series, and he has some serious competition.
* TheLeader: Of the Urban Rangers.
* MadeOfIron: Just watch "The Good, The Bad and The Ed" and you'll understand why this trope applies to him.
* MotorMouth: He can talk very fast at times.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Except when he flexes or becomes enraged.
* MyHovercraftIsFullOfEels: Downplayed. He's never outright incomprehensible, but his speech is a rather exaggerated version of the way a novice at a foreign language would speak. He uses words that don't make sense in the context (as though he were confusing the meanings of words), uses nonsensical idioms, and tends to butcher English figures of speech.
* MySignificanceSenseIsTingling: He always seems to know when something odd is happening- in the Valentine's Day episode he's the only one who can sense the Cupids (played by Jimmy and Sarah), and in "Run For Your Ed", he's the first one who responds to the Kanker's rampage.
* NiceGuy: He's one of the few kids who's usually on good terms with the Eds. He not only tolerates them, but views them as friends, unless he's scammed or if wolves are brought up.
* TheNicknamer: Has a complicated nickname for every character and character group, such as "snake-in-the-grass Ed boys", "Jonny the Wood Boy" or "Go-Go Nazz girl." Humorously, he once called [[BrattyHalfPint Sarah]] "She-Who-Gives-Migraines".
* NonSpecificallyForeign: It's implied, though never outright stated, that he's from somewhere in Europe.
* NoodleIncident: Apparently, Eddy's Brother did something to make him barricade his house, create a moat around it, and demand they tell Eddy's Brother that his chickens no longer exist when he thought he was returning.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Sometimes he joins the other kids when it comes to being unnecessarily cruel to the Eds (like "Stiff Upper Ed").
* TheOldCountry: Constantly addresses it.
* {{Pride}}: He takes great pride in being the son of a shepherd.
* ProudWarriorRaceGuy: This only occurs when The Old Country is concerned.
* RedHerring: "If It Smells Like an Ed" makes it appear as if he's the one framing the Eds, when really, it was Jimmy.
* RedOniBlueOni: The blue to Kevin's red.
* SanitySlippage: In "Dueling Eds" when he gets ''very'' hurt after Eddy insults his cultures by throwing one of his fish balls on the fence.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Sensitive Guy to Kevin's Manly Man.
* SuperStrength: His farm work is too easy for him.
* ThirdPersonPerson: He often refers to himself in third person.
* TotallyRadical: He often tries to adopt American slang and it sounds very odd coming out of his mouth.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Meat. See BigEater above.
* {{Trigger}}: Anything related to wolves sends him into a violent, flashback-riddled rage.
* UnstoppableRage: You do not want to mess with the son of a shepherd. Ever.
* WackyGuy: Rolf's culture has some ''very'' strange customs.
* WhatTheHellHero: Gets this treatment after he tries "sacrificing" Nazz to a rampaging Ed in "The Day The Ed Stood Still". Nazz gave him a black eye.
* WouldntHitAGirl: As seen in ''Urban Ed'' where Sarah beats him up and he doesn't fight back.
** Nazz also attacks him in "Little Ed Blue", and he doesn't fight back.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: He's the only kid in the cul-de-sac with abnormally-colored hair.
** Rolf's hair is probably natural, because in the Ed, Edd n Eddy universe, black hair has been really shown to be black hair, [[HairColorDissonance but is blue for better visibility.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Jonny 2x4]]
An eccentric, nature-loving youngster who hangs out with Plank, a piece of wood with a face drawn on it that seems to have a mind of its own. He's the most tolerant of the Eds, but even he can be pushed too far by them.
[[quoteright:180:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ed-Edd-n-Eddy-010_8482.jpg]]

->'''Voiced by:''' David-Paul Grove

* {{Adorkable}}: Especially when he's "talking" with Plank.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Zig-zagged. Jonny is a bit of a loner and, for obvious reasons, he's considered the weird one of the bunch, but he's still more liked than the Eds and is involved in many of the kids' activities. Played straight in the episode "Shoo Ed" (the entire episode is about him being a pest) and in "Tween a Rock and an Ed Place" where no one (except the Eds) went to his party.
** However at the end of the movie the Eds finally get accepted and Jonny becomes full-on outcast.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: He's probably black; but, his skin tone changes from time to time. Jonny in the picture here is ''not'' usually that white, he's normally slightly darker than Rolf or the same color as Rolf (but certainly brown).
** In the episode "Don't Rain on My Ed" we can see Jonny with a full head of hair as a one-off gag, and he clearly has a large FunnyAfro.
* AudienceWhatAudience: At the end of the movie. Which is weird, considering his CompanionCube Plank has MediumAwareness.
* BaldOfAwesome: The only bald character.
** BaldOfEvil: See FaceHeelTurn.
* BerserkButton: The three times that Plank was messed with (corrupted by the big city, used as a backscratcher, kept away from him by Eddy) Jonny became dangerously violent. [[note]]He took on the Kanker sisters to get Plank back and ''won''.[[/note]]
* {{Beware the Nice|Ones}}/[[BewareTheSillyOnes Silly Ones]]: Jonny's one of the most peaceful kids in Peach Creek, but he's also quite off his rocker.
* BladeBrake: Jonny actually does this with [[CompanionCube Plank]].
* BookDumb: Subverted. In "Mission Impossible," it's shown that Johnny is a C student.
* ButtMonkey: Sometimes, if the subject is his big head.
* CheerfulChild: The most cheerful character on the show, along with Ed.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Once, he hid his ABC gum under a quarter so no one would take it. And it worked.
* CompanionCube: Plank.
* ConstantlyCurious: He's often curious. He always wants to know what's going on and will often appear at the most random times.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He has his moments.
* TheDitherer: If Plank isn't there to make a decision for him, best seen in "All Eds Are Off."
* FaceHeelTurn: At the end of TheMovie, after get beaten up by the other kids for attacking the Eds, Jonny and Plank declare war on the cul-de-sac by becoming the sinister Gourd and Timber the Dark Shard. The movie was over though.
* HeroAntagonist: He's this in Robbin Ed as Captain Melonhead, with Eddy/Professor Scam being the VillainProtagonist.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With [[CompanionCube Plank]].
* HypocriticalHumor: This boy who talks to a slab of wood is always the first to call the other kids crazy.
* {{Keet}}: Jonny is a cheerful, wacky, hyperactive kid.
* KindheartedSimpleton: He's a foolish and gullible {{Cloudcuckoolander}}, as well as good-natured and innocent.
* LonersAreFreaks: Played with.
* MediumAwareness: [[AvertedTrope Probably the only character NOT to have this]].
* MrImagination: His defining trait. He has Plank as best friend, after all.
* NakedPeopleAreFunny: When the cul-de-sac falls into total anarchy in "Stop, Look, and Ed", Jonny decides to streak.
* NatureLover: He loves natural surroundings.
* NiceGuy: Although not to the extent of Rolf, he too is more than willing to consider the Eds as friends. Granted [[CompanionCube Plank]] seems able to make him do more immoral acts at times.
* NoSocialSkills: Implied to be the reason why he talks with objects such as Plank, since in some episodes he's portrayed as an annoyance.
* NotSoAboveItAll: See TookALevelInJerkass entry below.
* OlderThanTheyLook: He looks a bit younger than the Eds, Kevin, Rolf and Nazz, but he still goes to their school.
* TokenEvilTeammate: At the end of TheMovie. See FaceHeelTurn.
* TokenMinority: Jonny is the only dark-skinned character on the show (but not [[ButNotTooBlack too dark-skinned]]). Rolf probably would not qualify for this, however, since the references to his "Old Country" makes him most likely to be from Eastern Europe, and is just tan from the farm work he does.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In "X Marks the Ed", where he makes fun of Eddy's zit and charges the other kids admission to point and laugh. He gets away with it. He sometimes joins the kids when they make fun of the Eds.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: It is implied a lot of his more abrasive moments are provoked by Plank. Nearly everything insulting or cold he has to say is headed with "Plank says..."
* VoiceForTheVoiceless: To Plank.
* WouldHitAGirl: He takes on the Kankers to retrieve Plank back from them, ''and wins''.
** Inverted in the episode "Little Ed Blue" when Sarah punches him in the face and he doesn't fight back.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Plank]]
Jonny's CompanionCube. While he has no speaking role in the show, he often acts with the characters as if he was alive.
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Ed-Edd-n-Eddy-014_7845.jpg]]

* AnimatedMusicVideo: Starred in one titled "My Best Friend Plank" along with Jonny.
* BatmanGambit: "Gimme Gimme Never Ed". He uses Eddy's natural greed and anger to [[HoistByHisOwnPetard foil the Eds' scam]] and get a couple of cheap thrills, with no cost to him or Johnny.
* BerserkButton: It's implied that he doesn't like board jokes.
* BewareTheQuietOnes: Don't piss off Plank. He has back-up.
* CheekCopy: This is Plank we're talking about, so it's a picture of a plank.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: At first he was with Johnny, then he went to Jimmy, and then back to Johnny. In "Urban Ed", before returning to Johnny, he left him for the Eds and their city. In "Gimme Gimme Never Ed", he asked the Eds to make some rides for him to go on, but he ended up betraying them at the same time getting back the money Johnny spent for the rides. Finally in "All Eds are Off", he decides to hang with Eddy when Johnny didn't spend time with him anymore, only to return to Johnny once more, though it could be just a trick used by Eddy to make Johnny to lose the bet.
* CompanionCube: To Jonny.
* ADogNamedDog: Well, he's a plank named Plank.
* JerkassBall: In "Gimme Gimme Never Ed" and "Pick An Ed".
* ManipulativeBastard: It's speculated that Plank is this, manipulating Jonny and who knows else to get what he wants. Case in point, he once got a premium meal of fried lobster with butter on an ''imaginary plane'' made by Jimmy and Sarah while Johnny got 3 peanuts. "What do you mean, you special ordered?"
* NoodleIncident: Plank has a photo of him doing something unspeakable that's used against him in the elections for king in "For the Ed, By the Ed". [[TheUnreveal We don't see it]].
* NotSoImaginaryFriend: There are times when it seems that Plank is more than just a piece of wood.
** Best exemplified during the bus scene in TheMovie, which culminates in Plank ''actually driving a bus''.
* OffscreenTeleportation: Plank is capable of this - especially in TheMovie.
* PaperThinDisguise: Subverted. The kids easily recognize that Jonny's Captain Melonhead, and that Plank is Splinter the Wonderwood, but they still play along with it anyway.
%% * PerpetualSmiler
* RealAfterAll: The show often makes subtle implications Plank may indeed be sentient. For example, Johnny, simply by talking to Plank, is able to learn about events that occurred that Johnny was not around for, but Plank was.
** Or he's "real" in the sense of being Jonny's Split Personality.
* SquishyWizard: He can manipulate others to do his bidding, able to defeat even the strongest characters with careful timing, can do a BatmanGambit in which even Johnny is not aware of, etc. However, he's still just a piece of wood.
* TheUnintelligible: Apparently, Plank actually does speak to Johnny. In "Rent-a-Ed", he actually tells Johnny how Eddy gutted his sink, even though Johnny wasn't even there at the time.
* TheVoiceless: At least to everyone who isn't Jonny.
** Jimmy seems to hear Plank sometimes. When Plank got the lobster, it would make sense to assume Jimmy heard him. There is also an episode when Jimmy took Plank in when Johny and Plank supposedly had a fight. Jimmy seemed to hear him then. Plus I think there was one episode where Ed claimed to hear him and another where Eddy convinced Johny that Plank said something that he didn't. Additionally, in Every Which Way but Ed, Eddy painted himself to look like Plank and verbally responded to several things Johnny said with phrases like "You said it pal", and accidentally swallows Johnny's head trying to get Johnny's jawbreaker, and Johnny doesn't even bat an eye, seemingly believing it is Plank who's just acting a bit strange.
* WalkThePlank: In "Avast Ye Eds", he was forced to be the plank.
* WouldHitAGirl: Delivers a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown to all three Kankers when they bully Jimmy.

[[caption-width-right:192:It's our boyfriends!!]]

May, Marie, and Lee, a trio of crazy sisters who live in the local trailer park and the main antagonists of the show. Each of them has a crush on one of the Eds, and the Kankers enjoy tormenting them and the other neighborhood kids.

!!All Three Kankers
* {{Abhorrent Admirer}}s: To the Eds.
* AllWomenAreLustful: Especially the Kankers.
* AnnoyingLaugh: All three of them - Lee's sounds like a manly guffaw, Marie cackles and May has a weird, snorty laugh.
* AntiVillain: [[SlidingScaleOfAntiVillains Type I]] in TheMovie - after learning the Eds are in trouble, they drop everything and capture their pursuers. Also, they are visibly outraged (Lee) and terrified (Marie) after Eddy's brother shows his true colors and beats up Eddy and Edd. In series they [[AlternativeCharacterInterpretation could]] be seen as [[SlidingScaleOfAntiVillains Type II]]: see BrokenBird and FreudianExcuse.
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: They fight almost all the time, however in the Valentine's Day episode they went on the warpath after they thought Edd had somehow hypnotised May.
** Similarly, in "Ed Overboard", Marie and Lee go kidnap Ed after humiliating May by way of an apology.
** They become ''very'' angry when their Ship-Inna-Bottle is taken; When they get it back, Lee happily exclaims, "We're a family again, girls!"

** A deleted scene from "Take This Ed and Shove It" would have revealed that, at some point, the Eds got married to their respective Kankers, thus providing them with their ultimate victory. [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clN6581EyNY&feature=player_embedded Witness.]]
* BerserkButton: The Kankers have [[RuleOfThree three]] of them: don't get the Eds paired with someone else, don't touch their ship in a bottle, and do not beat up Eddy and Edd for kicks.
** Taking their ship in a bottle will result in them ''destroying the entire town.''
* BlackComedyRape: How many ways have they molested the Eds? They've set up traps to have all three of them married to their respective counterparts, moved into Eddy's house just so they can be with him and his friends, stripped them naked and fitted them with bathrobes while unconscious, put their feet in shackles so they can play footsie, dressed them in drag while chanting "We're gonna make you pretty", and left them CoveredInKisses too many times to count. A Cartoon Network promo even referred to them as "the girls who wanted to marry you and your friends" (with clips of their DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale antics to illustrate this).
* BigBad: The closest thing this show had to one, at least before the movie.
* [[BlondeBrunetteRedhead Blonde, ...Blue-Haired, Redhead]]: May, Marie and Lee, respectively.
* {{Broken Bird}}s: They were treated horribly in their introduction episode "Nagged to Ed".
* CreateYourOwnVillain: If we assume "Nagged to Ed" was Kankers' StartOfDarkness.
* CryCute: All three pull this in "Nagged To Ed".
* {{Dark Action Girl}}s: They are female villains who can kick anyone's ass.
* DiabolusExMachina: They usually show up ''only'' when something is going right for the Eds.
* DistaffCounterpart: To the Eds: Lee is the ringleader, Marie is the straight guy, and May is the moody ditz.
* DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale: Usually played annoyingly straight, but subverted in "A Twist of Ed", when Eds are the stalkers and they are the victims. It all goes well until [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Eddy breaks a sweat]].
** DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale: It comes dangerously close to this at times. Either way, it's probably safe to assume that there's ''no way'' they would have gotten away with any of the things they tried to pull if their genders had been reversed.
* TheDreaded: The most feared bullies in the neighborhood.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Their debut episode portrayed them in a [[JerkassWoobie slightly more sympathy-invoking way]].
* EvilCounterpart: See DistaffCounterpart
* [[EvenEvilHasStandards Even Jerks Have Standards]]: When they observe Edd and Eddy getting beat up by Eddy's brother, they react with outrage. It may just be a matter of who is getting beat up.
-->'''Lee:''' WHAT'S HE DOING TO MY MAN?!?
* {{Flat Character}}s: They molest the Eds, torment everyone else, and that's it, "Nagged to Ed" notwithstanding.
* FreudianExcuse: It can be inferred, from their introduction episode "Nagged to Ed", that the Kankers' boy obsession is related in some way to their mother either sleeping with, being married to (and divorced from), or dating three different guys (why else would The Kanker Sisters have three bathrobes with three different names on them) and, without a strong father figure (or any moral compass), the girls see their mom's behavior as acceptable.
** It gets worse; the girls have almost no physical attributes in common. And by taking a closer look at the girls behavior, you'll notice a sliding scale in matureness in following order: May, Marie, and Lee. Combined with the points above we can assume, that the girls are only half sisters one for each man.
* FriendlessBackground: They never hang out with anyone other than each other.
* GangOfBullies: They bully ''everyone'', not just the Eds.
* TheGloriousWarOfSisterlyRivalry: They fight almost all the time.
* HeyYou: Aside from the Eds, they never seem to remember the names of anyone else in the cul-de-sac.
** May even suggests they rename Jimmy "Dutch" in the movie, which Lee and Marie even go along with.
** Though in one of the earlier episodes, they referred to Kevin by name.
* HotBlooded: All three are reckless and hot-tempered. See UnstoppableRage.
* HypocriticalHeartwarming: In TheMovie.
* InformedAttribute: They claim to be in love with the Eds. You wouldn't tell by witnessing their actions.
* {{Jerk|ass}}s: All of them, but Lee in particular is a jerk even to her sisters.
** [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Jerks With Hearts Of Gold]]: In [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddysBigPictureShow the movie]]. Outside of that, they sometimes treat each other with respect - see AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther.
* KarmaHoudini: In context, they ''never'' get any serious long-lasting comeuppance for their shenanigans, even in the movie.
* KickTheSonOfABitch: They decide to teach Eddy's Brother a lesson at the end of the Movie.
* LackOfEmpathy: At their worst.
* {{The Ladette}}s: Marie is probably the most straight-up example of the three.
* LeanAndMean: Applies to all three.
* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: The Dark to Nazz's Light.
* ALighterShadeOfBlack: To Eddy's Brother.
* LoveMakesYouCrazy[=/=]LoveMakesYouEvil
* {{Loving Bull|y}}ies: The Kanker Sisters are utterly head over heels for the Eds, as well as their worst tormentors. Somewhat unique in that their amorous feelings are completely known to their victims, and the bullying usually involves the girls forcing themselves on the Eds.
* LowerClassLout: Three half-sisters raised by a single mother, living in a trailer park, getting the kicks out of tormenting everybody else and sexually harassing the protagonists, with very little redeeming qualities.
%% * '''{{Lust}}:''' YES.
* MissedHimByThatMuch: Throughout "Run For Your Ed". The Kanker Sisters are tearing up the cul-de-sac in search of their ship-in-a-bottle, while the Eds are stuck with it thanks to [[ContinuityNod a sleepwalking Ed]].
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: "Kanker" is also the Dutch and Indonesian word for cancer.
* NoIndoorVoice: Quite a lot of their dialogue is them yelling at each other, or shrieking, "It's our boyfriends!!"
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Much to the horror of the title characters.
* OutOfFocus: They appear much more in season 1 than in the rest of the series.
* ParentalIssues: See FreudianExcuse.
* PetTheDog: In the movie, they capture the kids to save the Eds from their wrath. Also, after Eddy's Brother beats up Eddy, they decide to let the Eds go and they give Eddy's Brother his just desserts.
* RedOniBlueOni: As a whole, the red to the Eds' blue. They prefer solving their problems via brute force, to the chagrin of everybody else.
* SecondEpisodeIntroduction: They are introduced in the second episode, "Nagged To Ed".
* SheCleansUpNicely: In "Nagged to Ed", the three freshened up surprisingly well.
* SlapstickKnowsNoGender: Especially May.
* [[StalkerWithACrush Stalkers With Crushes]]: To the Eds.
* StayInTheKitchen: Viciously inverted. They view the Eds (and men in general) as weak and more fit for housework.
* SuperStrength: Just scroll down to UnstoppableRage...
* TerribleTrio: Especially when they destroy the cul-de-sac trying to find their heirloom, the Ship-Inna-Bottle.
* {{Tomboy}}s: Of TheLadette variety.
** TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Tomboys to Sarah and Nazz's Girly Girls.
** [[TomboyWithAGirlyStreak Tomboys with a Girly Streak]]: Rather boy-crazy, they also like to wear makeup and take care of their hair.
* TookALevelInKindness: Sort of. Until Eddy told them to beat it in "Fistful of Ed", they treated the Eds as their personal toys. In "May I Have This Ed?" they use less violent (for their respective Ed, at least) methods to gain their affection. Come [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddysBigPictureShow the movie]], and they are [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold jerks with hearts of gold]], with slightly more emphasis on the "jerk" part.
* UnstoppableRage: "Run for your Ed". When the Kankers lost their ship in a bottle, the [[TheTokyoFireball cul-de-sac took more damage]] in their search for it than in all the preceding episodes ''combined''.
** To put this in perspective, they caused cracks to appear in the streets, water to shoot from fire hydrants, and decimated houses in seconds. Their anger was like a natural disaster. Rolf's farm animals went berserk due to the animals' uncanny ability to detect natural disasters by instinct. Rolf, one of the toughest characters in the cast, spent their rampage in a storm shelter.
* VillainousCrush: On the Eds.
** VillainessesWantHeroes: The Eds aren't exactly "heroes" but they are the main characters.
* WeHaveWaysOfMakingYouTalk: Subverted - Lee gives Sarah a wet willy so she'll reveal what's going to happen to the Eds, but she refuses to talk. Jimmy, however, squeals straight away.
* {{Yandere}}: They show tendencies of this, particularly Marie in the episode "May I Have This Ed". Unless they're all in on it together, '''DON'T''' steal their "boyfriends."
* YoungerThanTheyLook: They're apparently in the same grade as the Eds.
** It is possible they've been held back a year or so, though. They mention skipping school and have made the Janitor's room cosy for when they want to hang out in there.
* YouthfulFreckles: The only physical trait thay have in common.

[[folder:Lee Kanker]]
[[quoteright:85:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Lee1_6260.gif]]
The eldest and the leader of the Kanker Sisters. She has a crush on Eddy, much to his dismay.

->'''Voiced by:''' Janyse Jaud

* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Her crush on Eddy.
** Which is ironic considering she's probably much more of a bad girl than Eddy is a "bad boy".
* BerserkButton: Don't beat up Eddy in front of Lee. See LetMeAtHim.
* BigSisterBully: Though Marie and May aren't exactly passive types either.
* BlindingBangs: Her eyes are covered by her hair.
* [[EvilRedhead Evil]] and FieryRedhead: A reckless, HotBlooded redhead who loves fighting and tormenting people along with her younger sisters.
* EvilSoundsDeep: She has a deep, grating voice.
* EyesAlwaysShut: Her eyes are rarely seen.
** ExtraEyes: Has them in the movie, either as a one-shot gag or as a smear frame; a few other episodes showed her with two eyes.
* FightingTheLancer: Often to Marie.
* {{Gonk}}: She isn't exactly pretty to begin with, but with her ExtraEyes seen in TheMovie she's almost scary looking.
* LargeAndInCharge: The tallest Kanker and TheLeader of the trio.
* TheLeader: Type I or Type II.
* LetMeAtHim: To Eddy's brother when he beats up Eddy in the movie. Her sisters have to hold her back.
* NobodyTouchesTheHair: She's pretty territorial over her hair- she won't even let Eddy touch it.
* RedheadedBully: She's a redhead and the leader of a GangOfBullies.
%% * StreetSmart
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: Huge Girl to Eddy's Tiny Guy.
* TomboyishName: In a way - she has an unisex name.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: She's apparently in the same grade as her younger sisters.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Marie Kanker]]
[[quoteright:100:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Marie1_4304.gif]]

The middle child of the Kankers. She has a crush on Edd, although her feelings aren't returned.

->'''Voiced by:''' Kathleen Barr

* BareYourMidriff: Her black tanktop exposes her midriff.
* BigSisterBully: To May.
* BrutalHonesty: Has no problem telling people what she thinks of them, calling Eddy "the little yappy one". She insults May's intelligence so often it's almost a RunningGag.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Whenever Edd is with some other girl. Especially seen in "May I Have this Ed?".
* CoolLoser: To some extent. She dresses like a punk rocker, and she's a smart, pretty LittleMissBadass. She's much cooler than Lee and May and has the least annoying voice of the three. Her loser status is somewhat justified since she's a bully and has a creepy personality like her sisters, and this explains why she's an outcast and Edd doesn't like her.
* CuteBruiser: Marie can kick ass. She's also quite pretty.
* TheDragon: To Lee.
* GenericCuteness: Her sisters can hardly be considered good-looking, but Marie, if it weren't for her yellow teeth, could easily be seen as at least pretty.
* HiddenDepths: She's apparently quite good at art and enjoys painting.
* InformedAttribute: [[AllGirlsWantBadBoys Apparently she likes cheaters and bad boys.]] In reality, she likes Edd who is neither.
* JustEatGilligan: Edd, being [[NiceGuy E]][[ExtremeDoormat d]][[TokenGoodTeammate d]], probably wouldn't turn her down if she considered asking him out politely when Ed and Eddy weren't around.
* TheLadette: The most tomboyish of the three sisters.
* LittleMissBadass: Marie is not very tall but she's still strong and badass.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Masculine Girl to Double D's Feminine Boy.
* OralFixation: Marie is usually chewing gum.
* PeekABangs: She wears her hair in the emo fringe style.
* TheQuincyPunk: She definitely has the look and the attitude.
* ShyBlueHairedGirl: ''Averted''.
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Her crush on [[NiceGuy Edd]].
* StreetSmart: While not an academic genius like Edd, she's very crafty and supposedly the smartest of the trio.
* UptightLovesWild: {{Inverted|Trope}} with the Wild Marie's infatuation with the Uptight Edd.
* WrenchWench: She likes cars and is able to fix vehicles on her own. .
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: To a "T". Makes you wonder if it's natural like Rolf's, or if it's dyed blue (it's a lighter shade of blue than Rolf's).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:May Kanker]]
[[quoteright:110:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/May1_7871.gif]]

The youngest of the Kankers. She has a crush on Ed, although Ed thinks GirlsHaveCooties.

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/ErinFitzgerald

* {{Adorkable}}: Being naive, goofy, UglyCute and the sweetest of the three sisters.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: To Lee and Marie, sometimes.
* BareYourMidriff: Like her sister Marie.
* BlondesAreEvil: Zig-zagged, as she's usually portrayed as the most sympathetic of the 3 sisters.
* BreakTheCutie: In the Valentine's Day episode.
* ButtMonkey: Particularly when Lee and Marie gang up on her. However, she does dish it back.
* CrackPairing: InUniverse with Edd in the Valentine's Day episode.
** SickeninglySweethearts: She calls him "Lambchop".
* CryCute: In the Valentine's Day episode when she doesn't get any cards for Valentine's and Ed rejects her.
** And in "Ed Overboard" when her sisters ruin her appearance and she starts crying with her Ed doll.
* CuteBruiser: She carries an oven without breaking a sweat in "A Fistful of Ed" and is seen being able to carry Ed easily.
* CuteButCacophonic: Well...[[UglyCute kind of cute]] and her SimpletonVoice is definitely cacophonic.
* CuteClumsyGirl: She's a bit of a klutz, like her male counterpart Ed.
* DumbBlonde: May has blond hair and is usually TheDitz of the trio.
* DumbIsGood: To an extent. She's nicer than her sisters.
* DumbMuscle: Like Ed, May is the least intelligent of her trio, but she usually resorts to violence along with her sisters and is shown to be very strong sometimes.
* GagHaircut: More like "gag hairstyle" in the episode "Ed Overboard".
* HiddenDepths[=/=]HiddenHeartOfGold: She seems to genuinely love Ed. In the Valentine's Day special she was willing to approach him in a nice way with a Valentine's card, and she was reduced to tears after he rejected her.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Tiny Girl to Ed's Huge Guy.
* SimpletonVoice: Like Ed, she has an annoying "dumb" voice.
* SmarterThanYouLook: Again, according to the Valentine's Day special, when she's revealed to be good at chemistry.
* TookALevelInDumbass: While she was never of Edd-level intelligence, May became a lot less intelligent as the show went on, to becoming the female Ed [[SincerityMode (how fitting).]]
[[/folder]]

!Unseen Characters
[[folder:Eddy's Brother]]

A serious Ace, the coolest guy in the world. He taught Eddy everything he knows and is likely the least quirky character on the show. Except no. He is a cruel, not-so-ComedicSociopath who subverts AmusingInjuries on the Eds. He breaks the [[StatusQuoIsGod status quo]] and appears as the [[FridgeBrilliance thirtheenth character.]]

->'''Voiced by:''' Terry Klassen

* TheAce: Heavily implied to be this. Turns out it was a lie conjured up by Eddy.
** ShroudedInMyth[=/=]MemeticBadass: By word of Eddy in "Ed, Pass It On". Again, all lies.
* AllMenArePerverts: Who do you think gave Eddy his "magazines"?
* AloofBigBrother: Is seen as this by Eddy, until the movie that is, when you learn the sad truth.
* AntiRoleModel: No wonder why Eddy was such a {{Jerkass}}. Eddy was looking up to his brother, who's a {{Jerkass}} [[UltimateEvil to]] [[DomesticAbuse the]] [[UpToEleven ninth]] [[JerkWithAHeartOfJerk degree]].
** And who do you think gave Eddy, a minor, all of his PornStash to begin with?
*** Apparently, he also taught him how to scam.
* AxCrazy: When he starts to beat up Eddy.
* BaitTheDog: When he makes his first appearance, he and Eddy share a rather heartwarming moment of hugging and conversation. But then, it gets worse.
* BeardOfEvil: He has some hairs on his chin.
* BigBad: Although he only appears at the climax of the movie, he becomes the closest thing the series has to one when it's revealed that he has been physically and emotionally abusing Eddy all this time.
** BiggerBad: Due to never having a direct influence until the movie.
* BigBrotherBully: In the movie he played "Uncle" as an excuse to hurt his little brother.
* BigBrotherMentor: To Eddy. He taught him everything he knows.
** EvilMentor: And that's not exactly a good thing.
* BrokenPedestal: To the other kids sans Rolf and Kevin (who were old enough to remember what he was like when he was around) when they finally see him and what he does to Eddy in TheMovie.
* CainAndAbel: The Cain to Eddy's Abel.
* ChekhovsGunman: He's been occasionally mentioned in spite having no real relevance to the plot, except for a few moments. But in the [[BigDamnMovie Movie]], it appears as he's responsible for Eddy's ''entire'' character of being a [[{{Greed}} greedy]], [[{{Narcissist}} narcissistic]] Jerkass, what with the way he brutally ''abuses'' Eddy in one of the most serious forms of {{Slapstick}} in the entire series.
* ChildHater: Heavily implied. Especially when you consider the Fridge Horror of why he works/lives in an amusement park, implying that he seems to get a genuine kick out of torturing children.
* CirclingBirdies: Has stars circling above him after he's KO'ed by Ed.
* CollectorOfTheStrange: His old bedroom shown in "O-Ed-Eleven has, amongst other weird things, a [[BuffySpeak bed...fridge...thing.]], a [[TaxidermyIsCreepy stuffed camel]] and a harp. Also, he lives in a trailer shaped like a whale.
* CoolBigBro: '''OH HELL NO'''.
* CoolShades: When he's first seen in the movie he has them.
* DisproportionateRetribution: He beats up Edd, ''using Eddy as a club'', just because Edd stood up to him.
* TheDreaded: He doesn't even appear on screen but Kevin and Rolf are absolutely scared of him.
** Strangely enough, though, Nazz and Sarah aren't. Until the movie, anyway.
** It's probably because Nazz and Sarah were too young to be around when he was, while Kevin and Rolf were.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Emotionally abuses and tortures a kid for fun and proudly admits he's done it to this same kid his entire life, cementing him as the series's only concrete villain.
* EvilCounterpart:To Eddy. Which is ''really'' saying something...
* EvilIsBigger: Justified as he's an adult and the other characters are kids. However he seems bigger and taller even than GentleGiant Ed.
* EvilLaugh: He does this after demanding Eddy to play "uncle" with him, and laughs his ass off when Eddy gets hurt.
* EvilSoundsDeep: He has a deep voice.
* EvilerThanThou: More than the Kankers and Kevin combined.
* FakeUltimateHero: Throughout the series, Eddy has been building up his brother as cool and heroic but the movie revealed that he's far from being this and Eddy made up everything he said about him.
* FeetOfClay: He ends up being beaten by Ed unhinging his door as Eddy pulls on it. The resulting force results in him being knocked out. According to WordOfGod, it's because he's been inflicting pain his whole life but has never been on the receiving end, so something like a door to the face would hurt him a lot more than it would anyone accustomed to pain. Granted it's only in a cartoon such as this that being hit with a charging steel door could be seen as petty injuries.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: There are lots of hints in the series that indicate that Eddy's Brother is a bastard, the most blatant would be in the episode where Eddy started a rumor that his brother was coming, where instead of joy on Eddy's face when it appears that he showed up, it was ''absolute fear''.
** Rolf's reaction is this as well. All of the other children seem to only have rumors and Eddy's stories to base their opinions on him, but Rolf, being the eldest of the Cul de Sac kids, is TERRIFIED. See TheDreaded.
* ForTheEvulz: After agreeing to let Eddy and his friends in, he indulges himself in beating up Eddy for some laughs while freely admitting to doing it for as long as Eddy can remember.
** It's implied that some of the pranks that emotionally abuse the kids by his brother Eddy, especially Edd in TheMovie were his ideas in the first place.
* GetOutOfJailFreeCard: He ends up getting the Eds out of the trouble they'd gotten into in about the only way that avoids a KarmaHoudini or AssPull: by revealing the living Hell he put Eddy through that made him the way he is. Because of him, Eddy admits to his mistakes at last and the Eds [[EarnYourHappyEnding finally get their happy ending. Even more impressive is the scene was only a few minutes long.]]
* TheGhost: Until TheMovie.
* GlassCannon: Far stronger than Eddy, but can't take a hit. Eddy is MadeOfIron against slapstick, by comparison.
** Antonucci himself pointed it out: He's been dishing out pain all his life but never felt it, whereas Eddy has been the target of pain his entire life, meaning that Eddy developed a lot more resistance to pain, but Eddy's Brother didn't.
* GrievousHarmWithABody: He clobbers Double D over the head '''with Eddy'''.
* HeWhoMustNotBeSeen: He's never seen, and the only things that we know about him are Eddy's stories about him until he finally shows up in TheMovie.
* HateSink: Eddy's Brother only exists to be a ruthless BigBrotherBully with no redeeming qualities, so the kids InUniverse and the viewers will hate him.
* IronicEcho: He forces his little brother to play Uncle, but keeps going after he does. When Ed defeats him, Eddy's Brother says Uncle himself; the kids leave him alone, but the Kankers don't.
* ItAmusedMe: He gleefully admits that the reason he kept beating up Eddy for so long can be defined as this.
* {{Jerkass}}: He beats down on his own brother and Double D in a manner that makes the cul-de-sac kids and the freaking ''Kankers'' [[EvenEvilHasStandards feel disgusted.]]
** JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: He proudly admits that he has always beaten up Eddy his ''entire life''. He also lives in an amusement park, which implies he ''loves'' bullying children who are smaller and weaker than him.
* KnightOfCerebus: Somewhat. His abuse on Eddy is still displayed in a cartoony manner but the trauma is played in a poignant light and is probably the single most serious scene in the entire series.
* LackOfEmpathy: Eddy's Brother does not care about the physical and emotional pain he puts Eddy through by doing what he does best.
* LanternJawOfJustice: He's evil though.
* LaserGuidedKarma: After getting a beat down from Ed, he's left at the mercy of the Kanker sisters, who will likely try to make him suffer for daring to hurt "their" men. It doubles as KarmaHoudiniWarranty.
* LastEpisodeNewCharacter: He only appears in the GrandFinale movie.
* NiceHat: In his only appearance he wears a brown cap.
* TheNicknamer: He calls Eddy "pipsqueak", calls Edd "girlfriend" and calls the kids "anklebiters".
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Up until Ed intervened, it was like this.
* NoNameGiven: Just called "Eddy's brother".
* PsychopathicManchild: He admits he's been abusing Eddy all of his life both emotionally and physically while getting off on it. He also indulges in very twisted pranks passed on to his brother, but to a lighter degree.
* RealMenWearPink: Shockingly enough, but it's subtly implied. In his room he has curtains with pink hearts on them, for some inexplicable reason. Also, he can apparently play the harp if the one in his room is anything to go on.
* RedOniBlueOni: Definitely the Red Oni to Eddy's Blue Oni.
** Which is really saying something, since Eddy is the Red Oni to Double D's Blue Oni.
* {{Sadist}}: The most sadistic villain of the show.
** SoftspokenSadist: He's a sociopath with a low, smooth voice.
* {{Schemer}}: Well, he IS the one who taught Eddy how to scam in the first place. (And was apparently a lot better at it.)
* SlasherSmile: [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/EddysBrother_3006.JPG Big time.]]
* SmugSnake: "I thought you wanted to hang with your "hero".
* TheSociopath: To put it in perspective, he lives at a carnival now that he's left home, a carnival where there are plenty of kids... Yes, beating up on children is his whole life.
** ComedicSociopath: The AmusingInjuries cartoon exagerrations of his abuse on [[MadeOfIron Eddy]] are significantly toned down, though the abuse itself wasn't comedic '''[[DudeNotFunny AT ALL]]'''.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Eddy's Brother looks like an older (meaner and scarier) version of Eddy, right down to the three protruding hairs. The only difference being the chin.
* TomatoSurprise: What do you think all these spoiler tags are hiding?
* {{Troll}}: The trolling this guy manages to get done despite being unseen for the entire series is insane. He left a (fake) treasure map in his old bedroom on the offchance Eddy might find it (which just leads to the Kanker trailer), sends a crate with baby toys to Eddy in "An Ed Is Born", sends Eddy another fake map to Spookyville in the Halloween special... yet despite this, [[SchmuckBait Eddy keeps falling for it]].
** It is mentioned in the movie that he used to work in a Gag Factory before he started working at the amusement park, so that might be where it came from.
* UltimateEvil: To the rest of the cast anyway.
* TheUnreveal: Like Edd, we don't know what is under his hat.
* VileVillainSaccharineShow: Even for a SadistShow like this.
* WalkingSpoiler: Considering how he never showed up in the series.
* WeaksauceWeakness: In "Pass it on Ed", Eddy implies that his brother is lactose intolerant.
* WouldHitAGirl: Implied. He mistakes Edd for a girl and not long after, hammers him into the ground. He even calls him "girlfriend". It's possible that he was just insulting Edd.
%%* '''WouldHurtAChild''': '''BIG FUCKING TIME'''.%%

[[folder:The Adults]]
[[quoteright:185:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/185px-edsmom_8711.png]]

All the parents, never seen on screen, but frequently mentioned by the characters.
!As a whole
* AdultsAreUseless: The parents are never around, and couldn't be less involved in the kids' lives, no matter how many horrible things the Eds or the other kids have done. Especially considering how violent and destructive everyone is.
** ParentalObliviousness / ParentalNeglect: See above.
* TheGhost: They never appear at all, with only a few exceptions (like the ''arms'' of Eddy's father and Ed's mother in "Mission Ed-Possible").
* InvisibleParents: Since the show is about the children.
* {{Unnamed Parent}}s: Their names are never mentioned.

!Ed's parents

* AbusiveParents: Implied. Ed's mom treats him like TheUnfavorite in contrast to his spoiled sister Sarah, while his father seems largely apathetic to both his children.
** Probably best seen when Ed unconsciously sublimates the abuse to Johnny 2x4 in an AllJustADream episode.
* BlondesAreEvil: At least, Ed's mother is, according to Ed's nightmare in Rock-a-Bye-Ed.
* DysfunctionalFamily: Ed is a LethallyStupid, filthy moron, Sarah is a violent, manipulative BrattyHalfPint who always gets whatever she wants, their mother is implied to be an older version of Sarah who spoils her daughter and is abusive towards Ed, and their father simply doesn't seem to care about the family ("Sarah will tell mom, mom will tell dad and dad will just sit there and watch tv!!")
* HenpeckedHusband: Implied with Ed's dad. He's implied to be submissive to his wife because whenever she tells him about Ed's behavior (due to Sara's tattling) he will either "sit there and watch tv" or say "now now I just got home from work".
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Ed is genuinely loyal to his friends and family, but he's too stupid to tell the difference between right and wrong and his mother constantly punishes him for his behaviour. Meanwhile she treats [[{{Jerkass}} Sarah]] like an angel who never does anything wrong.
* {{Housewife}}: Ed's mom comes off as one.
* {{Jerkass}}: Again, Ed's mother comes off as this (debatable about his father). Possibly where Sarah got it from.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Ed's dad is implied to be a huge slob (like Ed) and his mom is implied to be spoiled and nasty (like Sarah).
* MyBelovedSmother: Implied. Sarah's mother seems to encourage her to be "girly", despite Sarah's strong Tomboy streak and Sarah is seen playing up an "innocent", more childish personality in Ed's dream, hinting Sarah acts like how her mother ''wants'' her to at home, not how she actually feels.
* NeatFreak: Possibly Ed's mom. She often leaves hints that she observes Ed because she tells Sarah to force Ed to clean up his room or a mess.
* ParentalFavoritism: Towards Sarah, obviously.
* PinkMeansFeminine: Ed's mother has a pink dress in the AllJustADream episode.
* PushoverParents: They never punish Sarah for her rude behavior. However, they aren't this to Ed, as they ''removed the stairs'' when they grounded him.

!Edd's parents

* {{Doting Parent}}s: Implied to be this when they are actually around. Edd mentions that his mother usually gives Edd warm milk, reads him a book, and massages his feet before bed, implying that she and her husband at least try to be good parents when they are around.
* GoodParents: Edd mentions only good things about them, such as Edd's mother massaging his feet, reading him a book and giving him warm milk. What makes them as [[DysfunctionalFamily dysfunctional]] as the rest of the cast's parents is that they are rarely home and communicates to Double D via sticky notes. It still shows however that they do care about him, as some of the notes are personal advices.
* ParentalNeglect: Zig-zagged. Unlike Ed and Eddy's parents, Edd's parents seem to be...rather hands-off. They mostly communicate to Edd via sticky notes and often neglect to tell him important things, like telling him they were getting their bathroom remodeled, leaving Double D with no access to a shower. It's implied he does almost all of the housework for them, too. On the other hand, the sticky notes are the most consistent communication shown between any parents and children in the series and at least Edd's mother seems in tune with his well-being since she packs him a special lunch to cheer him up in "Too Smart for his Own Ed".
* SexlessMarriage: Implied. They have separate beds. Probably at least once to have had Edd unless he's adopted. Edd even says that there's no kissing allowed in their room!
* SuperOCD: Probably where Edd gets it.

!Eddy's parents

* AbusiveParents: Several scenes and dialogues imply that Eddy may have trouble dealing with his parents. While it could be contributed to Eddy's attitude towards adults, TheMovie showed that Eddy's Brother is a DomesticAbuser who admitted he beats up Eddy all his life and while his parents may or may not know about this, they certainly don't do a thing about it, instead constantly berating and punishing Eddy for his bad grades and behavior at school.
* DysfunctionalFamily: Made explicit in TheMovie, see above.
* [[EducationMama Education Papa]]: Eddys father is implied to be this in the episode "Mission Ed-Posible" when his arm grabs Eddy for possible punishment after he saw Eddy's horrendous report card.
* {{Jerkass}}: Well, both their sons are this, and that would arguably explain Eddy's Brother's cruel behaviour.
* MeddlingParents: Look above.
* ParentalObliviousness: They are presumably oblivious to a lot of things (Eddy being bullied by his brother, for example). Or this, or [[AdultsAreUseless they just don't care.]]
* ParentsAsPeople: Possibly...
* PetTheDog: Eddy does sometimes call for his mother if he's in pain, so it seems likely she does offer him comfort.

!The Kankers' mother

* AntiRoleModel: This also gives Lee, Marie and May a FreudianExcuse to their behaviour. It was heavily implied that she has either [[ReallyGetsAround slept with three different men]], married or divorced to another etc. (Why else would their fathers' robes have different names on them), and her behaviour makes them see it as acceptable to [[AbhorrentAdmirer come on to the Eds against their will]].
* HairTriggerTemper: Possibly where her daughters get it from. Also lampshaded when Marie gets her face tromped on by May and then says "Now I know who got Mom's genes".
* ReallyGetsAround: Not explicitly stated, but it's heavily implied that she does this.
** SerialSpouse: She's apparently had three failed marriages, having a daughter in each one. See above.
* StrawFeminist: Implied by a few quotes that she dislikes men. ("Mom was right, throw a man a bone and he'll mess up the carpet").
