[[folder:Main Hunters and their Digimon]]

!! Tagiru Akashi
A member of Taiki and Yuu's Xros Heart basketball team. He followed Ryouma and his partners into [=DigiQuartz=], and there met his partner, Gumdramon. After meeting the Watchman, he gleefully grabbed the opportunity to become a Digimon Hunter.

->Voiced by Creator/MarinaInoue
* BigEater
* BlushSticker
* {{Determinator}}: In episode eleven, Tagiru got his [[{{Hotblooded}} passion]] sucked out of him by [[MonsterOfTheWeek [=FlaWizarmon=]]], rendering him a droopy-eyed, speech-slurring wreck. Despite this, he still insisted on continuing the hunt, and [[spoiler: he managed to regain his energy through sheer HeroicResolve.]]
* {{Expy}}: To previous ''Digimon'' main characters, but in particular, his shirt has a notable resemblance to Tai's. He also pretty much plays the [[Anime/DigimonAdventure02 Davis]] to Taiki's Tai as far as role goes, and is even characterised very similarly, if UpToEleven.
** His personality is also reminiscent of Ash Ketchum from the [[{{Anime/Pokemon}} Indigo League of Pokemon.]]
* GogglesDoNothing: His have yellow frames. Averted in one episode, as they were used when he and Taiki when diving.
* {{Hotblooded}}: To the point that ''steam comes out of his nostrils''.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: Tagiru wants to be in the spotlight and surpass Taiki, to the point he tries to emulate him, while also jumping at every potential competition in order to prove himself. Which leads to...
* IdiotHero: Perhaps the best example ever afforded by the franchise, well beyond even Davis.
* JumpedAtTheCall: He didn't need '''any''' persuasion to become a Hunter.
* '''''{{Keet}}''''': This ''cannot'' be emphasised enough.
* KidAppealCharacter: Shares this role with Gumdramon.
* MeaningfulName: It's written in katakana, but it's pronounced the same way as (滚), meaning "to boil". [[{{Keet}} Yeah]]. The name of his insert song plays with this - "Tagiru Chikara" (spelled in katakana only) can accordingly be taken to meaning "boiling/overflowing power".
* ShipperOnDeck: For Taiki and Akari.
* ShirtlessScene: Averted in his case, which is suprising since every preceding main hero had at least one.
* SkunkStripe: A flash of red in his otherwise brown hair. He gets it from his mother.
* SpotlightStealingSquad
* StaticCharacter: He never really goes through any significant changes.
** Arguably a FlatCharacter too 'cause there's really not much to him, he even admits this and is fine with it!
* ToBeAMaster: Tagiru frequently states that his goal is to become a superstar.
* VitriolicBestBuds: He and Yuu have this dynamic, as well as with Gumdramon.

!! Gumdramon

Tagiru's partner, a blue dragon Digimon with a tail hammer known as the shippotsuchi[[note]]tail hammer[[/note]]. He found himself in [=DigiQuartz=] after an accident in the Digital World, and sought out a human partner in order to take part in the Hunter games. He focuses on Tagiru, and the two quickly became partners, unlocking the ability for Gumdramon to super evolve.

His evolved and [=DigiXros=] forms in this series are as follows:

* '''Arresterdramon''', his digivolved form. A large, purple dragon with red armor, purple wings, and a trident at the end of its tail.
* [[spoiler:'''Arresterdramon Superior Mode''', a more advanced form of Arresterdramon. His purple wings have become larger and golden, his mouth can now be opened, and is significantly larger and stronger.]]

-> Voiced by: Creator/KumikoWatanabe
* AllAnimalsAreDogs: Gumdramon has the ability to sniff out targets like a bloodhound.
** He's also seen wagging his tail from happiness.
* AmplifierArtifact: The Kinkoji is this when exposed to ThePowerOfFriendship.
* BewareMyStingerTail: In addition to the hammer, he can also reform his tail into a blade.
* BigEater
* BilingualBonus[=/=]MeaningfulName: The "gum" in his name refers to the rubber-like nature of his attacks, but can also be pronounced "gamu", as in "gamushara", meaning "reckless."
* BrattyHalfPint
* CuteLittleFangs: A variation where they're pointing upward.
* DropTheHammer: '''JACKED HAMMER!''' - A swing with his shippotsuchi.
* {{Expy}}: In terms of role, if Tagiru is an expy of Davis (which he is), then Gumdramon is an expy of Veemon. Appearance-wise, he has traits of both Veemon and Dorumon
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Before meeting him, Gumdramon was calculating how to use Tagiru for his own gain, but was touched by Tagiru saving his life, and was genuinely concerned about Tagiru putting his own life at risk.
* KidAppealCharacter: Shares this role with Tagiru.
* PlayingWithFire[=/=]EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: '''FIRE VORTEX!''' - Spins rapidly and charges at the opponent while wreathed in flames.
* PowerLimiter: The Kinkoji (Tight-bound child) on his tail. [[spoiler:He got it from Sanzomon.]]
* ThePowerOfFriendship: It turns the Kinkoji into an AmplifierArtifact.
* [[RubberMan Rubber Mon]]: His tail is extendable and prehensile. Fitting, as the "gum" in his name is another name for natural rubber. Although, as seen in his first fight, the ''hammer'' end of his tail is at least definitely quite hard.
* [[spoiler:SuperNotDrowningSkills]]
* {{Tsundere}}: Episode seven has him deliver the inevitable line "It's not like I'm worried!" regarding Tagiru.
* VitriolicBestBuds: He and Tagiru tend to quarrel a lot.
* WhipItGood[=/=]RapidFireFisticuffs: '''RAN-GUM BREAK!''' - Gumdramon's tail can extend like a whip and smack opponents repeatedly.
* XMarksTheHero: On his forehead.

->'''Tropes associated with Gumdramon's Digivolved or [=DigiXros=] forms:'''

* '''FusionDance'''[[note]][=DigiXroses=] without evolving.[[/note]]
** CoolSword[=/=]EverythingsBetterWithSpinning[=/=]PlayingWithFire: '''FIRE VORTEX MEN!'''[[note]]"Men" being a kendo term for a head stroke[[/note]] - With Kotemon.
* '''Arresterdramon'''
** BewareMyStingerTail: '''FROG SHOT!''' - His tail ends in a pointed trident, which he can use as a spear.
*** And its variation when using an eraser attached to his tail made by Ekakimon, '''ERASER FROG SHOT!'''
** EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: '''SPIRAL SHREDDER!'''
*** And its variation when Xrossed with Sparrowmon, '''WING SPIRAL SHREDDER!'''
** FusionDance: His "Xros Up" forms with Tagiru's various captured Digimon:
*** [[HeavilyArmoredMook Heavily Armored Mon]][=/=]LightningBruiser: [=With MetalTyrannomon=].
*** MakingASplash[=/=]BladeOnAStick[=/=]RazorWind: With Sagomon.
*** OurCentaursAreDifferent[=/=]SuperSpeed: With Dobermon.
*** JetPack[=/=]FlyingBrick: With Sparrowmon.
*** CombatTentacles[=/=]GreenThumb: With Blossomon.
*** AttackOfThe50FootWhatever[=/=]ThisIsADrill[=/=]HumongousMecha: With [=GigaBreakdramon=].[[note]]It should be noted that Arresterdramon has no control over this form, and must be manually operated.[[/note]]
*** StockFemurBone[=/=]EpicFlail: With Ogremon.
*** [[SharpDressedMan Sharp Dressed Mon]][=/=]{{BFG}}: With Astamon.
** GiantFlyer
** GogglesDoNothing: In a first for an actual main character's Digimon, Arresterdramon has a pair of them on his head.
** OurDragonsAreDifferent
** RapidFireFisticuffs: '''MACH FLICKER!'''
** ShapingYourAttacks: '''PRISM GARROTE!''' - Releases dragon-shaped trails of energy from his tail.
*** And its variation when Xrossed with [=GigaBreakdramon=], '''INFINITY PRISM GARROTE!'''
*** And its variation when Xrossed with Astamon, '''PRISM MAVERICK!'''
** WhipItGood[=/=]EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: '''SPIN CALIBUR!''' - Strikes the opponent with the end of his tail.
** TheWorfEffect: After beating [=MetalTyrannomon=], he either loses all his fights (to the point of winning more fights without evolving!), or is about to lose until someone comes to lend a hand.
*** The fight against [=FlaWizarmon=] was the start of things getting better - he beats [=FlaWizarmon=] without help or even Xrossing. On occasion he's still overwhelmed until he Xrosses, but this is happening significantly less often.
* [[spoiler:'''Arresterdramon Superior Mode''']]
** [[spoiler:FlyingBrick]]
** '''[[spoiler:FusionDance]]'''
*** [[spoiler:FlyingBroomStick[=/=]ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: With the Brave Snatcher.]]
** [[spoiler:SuperMode]]
** [[spoiler:UpToEleven: The entire point of him. It's reflected in his design - a more developed and aggressive-looking take on Arresterdramon.]]

!! Taiki Kudo

The legendary General who led Xros Heart to victory against the Bagra Empire. In the year since the defeat of Bagramon, Taiki formed a three-man street basketball team along with Yuu and Tagiru, named Xros Heart after the army he led in the Digital World.

->Voiced by: Creator/MinamiTakayama
* TheArtifact: He spends the first few episodes as a mentor for both Tagiru and Yuu. Once the other two are able to stand up on their own, Taiki becomes much less important, to the point where he has absolutely no bearing on the plot of most episodes, and could easily be taken out of many stories without losing much.
* BigBrotherMentor: To Tagiru and Yuu.
* BrickJoke: Episode 16: Tagiru and Yuu have to go investigate some paranormal activity on their own because Taiki has to go to a baseball game, but mention that Taiki will catch up to them later. The end of the episode shows that Taiki didn't make it, having exhausted himself during the game again.
* CannotTellAJoke
** HeartIsAnAwesomePower[=/=]WeaksauceWeakness:
--->'''Betsumon:''' ''"Impossible...There's someone out there who makes worse jokes than I do..."''
* ChestInsignia: The crown on the breast of his shirt, referring to how he acquired the power of the Code Crown at the end of the previous series.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: He still [[CatchPhrase just can't turn his back on people]].
* GogglesDoNothing: Averted in one episode, as they were used when he and Tagiru when diving.
* [[spoiler:ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: The victim of this at the hands of Ryouma wielding the Brave Snatcher, making him unable to continue to fight Quartzmon.]]
* ItsNotYouItsMyEnemies: He avoided telling Akari and Zenjirou what was happening in [=DigiQuartz=] in order to protect them.
* ThePowerOfFriendship
* SempaiKohai: Tagiru refers to him as "sempai."
* StoryBreakerPower: The Watchmaker flat out said Taiki joining could completely destabilize the hunt. So far, [[CurbStompBattle Curb Stomping]] every opponent Tagiru's had trouble with hasn't done much to prove him wrong.
** [[spoiler: NiceJobBreakingItHero: The purpose of excluding him was to make sure a strong enough hunter would rise up, by helping Taigiru and Gumdramon, who would have likely been crushed in their second hunt, and many others, the watchmaker ended up having to rely on a less than ideal hunter.]]
* {{Tsurime Eyes}}

!! Shoutmon

Taiki's primary partner Digimon. In the year since he defeated Bagramon, Shoutmon has achieved his dream of becoming the Digimon King. With the assistance of Wisemon, he and the rest of Xros Heart can be called upon by Taiki when he's needed.

His evolved and [=DigiXros=] forms in this series are as follows:

* '''[=OmegaShoutmon=]''', his super evolved form. A lithe dragon warrior resembling a fully-grown Shoutmon plated in gold.
* '''Shoutmon X4''', Xrossed with the Starmons, Ballistamon and Dorulumon. A HumongousMecha amalgamation of the four, wielding the Star Sword. This time, the number of Digimon involved in this Xros means it can be only achieved by giving someone else two of the components, then executing a Double Xros.
* '''Shoutmon X7''', Xrossed with the Starmons, Ballistamon, Dorulumon, Sparrowmon, and [=ZekeGreymon=]. A HumongousMecha amalgamation of the seven, sporting a giant version of Shoutmon's microphone. Taiki still needs to do Great Xros to use it, but now needs four people to use it instead of the three like the previous series.
* '''Shoutmon DX''', Xrossed with [=ZekeGreymon=]. [=OmegaShoutmon=] wears [=ZekeGreymon=]'s armour in this form, with weaponry formed from both [=OmegaShoutmon=]'s feet and [=ZekeGreymon=]'s own weaponry. Formed by Double Xros with Kiriha.

->Voiced by: Creator/ChikaSakamoto
* AsskickingEqualsAuthority
* DemotedToExtra: He barely gets any scenes or lines anymore.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Shoutmon has since gained a few of these on his person, upping his badass cred.
* HammerSpace: Where he pulls his mike from.
* {{Hotblooded}}: If less so than before.
* [[spoiler:ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: The victim of this at the hands of Ryouma wielding the Brave Snatcher, making him unable to continue to fight Quartzmon.]]
* ImprobableWeaponUser: That microphone of his is back and deadly as ever.
* MusicalAssassin: The first words he said to Taiki in combat upon returning were "I bet you want to hear my scream again after so long!"
* NotAllowedToGrowUp: Averted. Though Digimon normally remain static in appearance until evolving, the previous series saw Digimon changing as they grew older, and the same is true for him; he's now taller, his body has become less machine-like, and he looks more battle hardened, resulting in something of a more mature appearance - a "teenage" Shoutmon compared to his "child" years, one could say.
* OlderAndWiser
* PlayingWithFire: '''ROCK DAMASHII!'''
** And its variation when Xrossed with [=ChibiKamemon=], '''ROCK DAMASHII ARROW!'''
* ThePowerOfRock
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: What, did you think he was just going to sit around after becoming king?
* ScarfOfAsskicking: He's attained one since we last saw him.
* TooManyBelts: Sure, it's just one, but it's too many in that he has no clothes on which to use one. But ''damn'' if Shoutmon doesn't make it work.

->'''Tropes Associated With Shoutmon's Evolved or [=DigiXros=] forms:''' [[quoteright:159:]]

* '''FusionDance'''[[note]][=DigiXroses=] without evolving.[[/note]]

** '''Shoutmon X4'''
*** CoolSword
*** FlamingSword
*** HumongousMecha
*** PlayingWithFire: '''BURNING STAR CRUSHER!'''
** '''Shoutmon X7''' %%While X7 and DX are formed from OmegaShoutmon, because the wiki markup refuses more than three bullet points, they've been moved to here for the sake of presentability.%%

** BlingBlingBang
** ChromeChampion
** EverythingsBetterWithSpinning[=/=]RazorWind: '''BEAT SLASH!'''
** FusionDance: His "Xros Up" forms with his team-mates from Xros Heart.
*** {{BFG}}: The Dorulu Cannon, [[CaptainObvious formed with Dorulumon]]. Yes, Shoutmon even takes his older forms UpToEleven.
** GoldenSuperMode
** LizardFolk
** PlayingWithFire: '''HARD ROCK DAMASHII!'''
*** ChestBlaster: '''HEAVY METAL VULCAN!'''
** ShapingYourAttacks[=/=]SummonMagic: '''OMEGA THE FUSION!'''

!! Yuu Amano

The younger brother of Taiki's former Xros Heart comrade, Nene Amano; he was once led astray into serving the Bagra Army and killing thousands, but is now determined to make up for it. Since the defeat of Bagramon, Yuu now attends school with Taiki and is one grade below him.

->Voiced by: Creator/KanaeOki
* TheAtoner
* BerserkButton: Treating the whole Digimon thing like a game; completely understandable given what happened when he did.
* ChickMagnet
* ChildProdigy
* FelonyMisdemeanor: Yuu's focus on being TheAtoner causes him to be rather critical of Tagiru and others' motives for being Hunters, but how on the money he is tends to vary from situation to situation. Cases like Hideaki prove that what others have in mind may not necessarily be all that bad.
* GreenEyedMonster: Was envious of Taiki and Tagiru in episode four because he couldn't do anything to help in battle, but knows it was his own fault Damemon died and presses on regardless.
* ItsAllMyFault: Briefly believed that his actions in the previous series led to Damemon intentionally not coming back to him. Needless to say, he was wrong.
* [[OutOfFocus Out of Focus]]/[[RedemptionDemotion Redemption Demotion]]: Despite being promoted to the main trio, he ends up having very little impact on the overarching plot.
* TheRival: Acts this way towards Tagiru, but Tagiru is more focused on surpassing Taiki.
* ShipTease: With Airu, to the point of being a RunningGag.
* TheSmartGuy: Easily the smartest of the group if Taiki hasn't already taken that role.
* SupremeChef: Cooks for Tagiru, Gumdramon, and Cutemon in episode five, and by their reactions Yuu's a pretty good chef.
* VitriolicBestBuds: He and Tagiru have this dynamic.

!! Damemon

Yuu's partner Digimon. In ''[[Anime/DigimonXrosWars Xros Wars]]'', he worked for the Bagra Army and was assigned to be Yuu's handler, but came to genuinely care for his charge. His death forced a HeelRealization out of Yuu, and despite Damemon being resurrected the two do not reunite until this series.

His evolved and [=DigiXros=] forms in this series are as follows:

* '''Tuwarmon''', his super evolved form. A robotic ninja Digimon.

->Voiced by: Creator/MasamiKikuchi
* BackFromTheDead
* CatchPhrase: Same as ever, ''"Dame Dame!"''[[note]]"No good! No good!"[[/note]]
* EpicFlail: '''BUNBUN KEN!''' [[note]]Buzzing Fist[[/note]]
* {{Expy}}: Towards [[Anime/DigimonAdventure Sukamon]], as both are basically talking, animated poop.
* {{Fartillery}}/WeaponizedExhaust: '''BOO~ST ATTACK!'''
* HeelFaceTurn: When he died in ''Xros Wars'', he was still technically part of the Bagra Army. Now he's a full-fledged good guy.
* MoreDakka: '''GUN VULCAN!'''
* OutOfFocus: Since his revival, he's had only a handful of lines and appearances, and had an active role only in the ninth episode. Interestingly enough, only Damemon is getting it - Yuu himself still gets very substantial screen time.
** It seemed to be changing as of episode eleven, then it kind of...didn't. For example, he literally does not appear at all in episode nineteen, despite there being a fairly large fight in which even Airu/Opossumon and a oneshot character actively participate.
* RedemptionDemotion: Played with. In [[Anime/DigimonXrosWars the previous series]], Damemon was a disguise worn by Tuwarmon while acting as Yuu's ally. However, since he was reborn as Damemon, and not Tuwarmon, he has to evolve into him rather than transform back and forth like he used to. This has shown no visible effect on his fighting strength.

-> '''Tropes Associated With Damemon's Evolved or [=DigiXros=] forms:''' [[quoteright:275:]]

* '''Tuwarmon'''
** BagOfKidnapping: '''DIGI NINPO! FUROSHIKI ZUTSUMI!'''[[note]]Digi Ninja Arts! Furoshiki Wrapping![[/note]] - Tuwarmon captures the opponent in a bag.
** BlowYouAway: '''NINPO! FUUJINHA!'''[[note]]Ninja Arts! Wave of the Wind God![[/note]]
** EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: '''MANTIS DANCE!'''
** {{Expy}}: Towards [[Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger Shurikenger]], given they're both {{Ninja}} with a propensity towards GratuitousEnglish.
** FightingWithChucks
** FlashStep: '''DIGI NINPO! KAWASHIMI NO JUTSU!'''[[note]]Digi Ninja Arts! Body Dodging![[/note]] - Tuwarmon quickly moves around to dodge an attack and leaves behind afterimages of himself.
** '''FusionDance''': Does a [=DigiXros=] with [=SuperStarmon=] in episode 24.
*** CoolShades: On his chest.
*** FlechetteStorm: '''DIGI NINPO! HOSHI ARASHI!'''[[note]]Digi Ninja Arts! Star Storm![[/note]]
*** {{FuumaShuriken}}: He can turn his ''body'' into this. Overlaps with EverythingsBetterWithSpinning.
** GravityMaster
** '''HighlyVisibleNinja''': He's bright yellow and three times Yuu's height. If that's not a HighlyVisibleNinja, who knows what is?
** InescapableNet: '''DIGI NINPO! KUMO SHIBARI!'''[[note]]Digi Ninja Arts! Spider Binding![[/note]] - Tuwarmon creates an energy net to ensnare his opponent.
** NinjaLog: '''DIGI NINPO! KIWARIMI NO JUTSU!'''[[note]]Digi Ninja Arts! Replacement Technique![[/note]] - A standard "substitution technique" that replaces him and/or Yuu with a very convincing decoy when attacked.
*** {{Henohenomoheji}}: The scarecrow decoy he produces has this face upon closer examination...which no-one ever does until it's done its job.
** SmokeBomb[=/=]MacrossMissileMassacre: '''SMOKIN' BOOGIE!'''
** SpellMyNameWithAnS: His name is commonly spelled by fans as "Tsuwamon", a transliteration predating Toei/Bandai officially calling him "Tuwarmon".
** ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks: '''MANTIS ARM!'''
** TrapMaster

!! Ryouma Mogami

A mysterious young man who appears to be the leader of the rival team of hunters, though they apparently only work together out of convenience. His Digimon partner is Psychemon.

-> Voiced by: Creator/TetsuyaKakihara
* AffablyEvil: Or at least affably antagonistic. He tells Taiki that he has a great respect for what he accomplished in the past, and he's reasonably polite to Tagiru as well.
* {{Expy}}: Many have noted that he resembles [[Manga/DigimonVTamer01 Neo Saiba]].
* GracefulLoser: In episode 9, Yuu got him to help rescue Taiki by proposing that the two of them and Tagiru work together to try to capture [=SuperStarmon=], and whoever manages to capture him keeps him. Ryouma is true to his word and leaves with no hard feelings, even admitting Yuu outmaneuevered him.
* GratuitousEnglish: He managed to rack up a count rivaling Tuwarmon's in the first episode alone.
* [[spoiler: HeelFaceTurn: As of episode 23....[[HeelFaceMole but in the next episode...]]]]
** [[spoiler: Does it for real in the following (and final) episode.]]
* [[spoiler: MindControlEyes: In episode 25.]]
* [[spoiler: TheMole]]: [[spoiler: Subverted in the final episode where it turns out he didn't ''intentionally'' betray everyone to attack Taiki....Astamon controlled him to do so.]]
* SharpDressedMan: He wears a form-fitting business-style suit.
* StealthMentor: Plays this role towards Tagiru in episode seven.

!! Psychemon

Ryouma's partner Digimon, a reptile Digimon wearing a multi-colored pelt. He's a mon of very few words, but incredibly efficient at getting the job done.

His evolved and [=DigiXros=] forms in this series are as follows:

* '''Astamon''', his super evolved form. A humanoid demon Digimon resembling a mob boss.

-> Voiced by: Creator/TakahiroSakurai
* BadassArmFold: When evolving.
* [[spoiler:BigBad: He's the terminal of Quartzmon.]]
* [[spoiler:DeadAllAlong: According to Quartzmon, he was the very first Digimon that he absorbed.]]
* EverythingsBetterWithRainbows: Both of his attacks involve multi-colored lights somehow.
* [[spoiler: TheMole: Granted, he wasn't very friendly to begin with, but went along with allying with Xros Heart multiple times. It's revealed he's a "Terminal" to Quartzmon and had brainwashed Ryouma.]]
* PaletteSwap: Of [[Anime/DigimonAdventure Gabumon]]. Though, it should be noted that he's been around much, much longer than this series, having made his debut way back in ''VideoGame/DigimonWorld''.
* RealMenWearPink
* ShockAndAwe: '''COLORFUL SPARK!'''
* TheStoic: His evolution sequence definitely gives this vibe, with him posing with his arms crossed and then calmly with his hands in his pockets as Astamon.
* UseYourHead: '''HADEHADE'''[[note]]Meaning "gaudy"[[/note]] '''HORN'''

->'''Tropes Associated With Psychemon's Evolved or [=DigiXros=] forms:'''
* '''Astamon'''
** BadassLongcoat
** BishonenLine: He goes from a pink reptile to a humanoid mercenary with wolf-like characteristics.
** FusionDance: His "Xros Up" forms with Ryouma's various captured Digimon:
*** PowerFist[=/=]ArtificialLimbs: With Triceramon.
*** HurricaneKick[=/=]ShouldersOfDoom: With Cerberumon.
** {{BFG}}: '''HELLFIRE!''' He wields a weapon called Oro Salmón, a gun that resembles an old-fashioned tommy gun.
** ICallItVera[=/=]FluffyTheTerrible: According to supporting material, his tommy-gun is named Oro Salmón, which is Spanish for..."gold salmon". The supporting material says it's made by the same gunsmith as the one behind Beelzebumon's weapon, Berenjena, and Sparrowmon's weapons, Zanahoria, both of which have a similarly unusual name ("eggplant" and "carrot", respectively).
** HurricaneKick: '''MAVERICK!'''
** KnifeNut
** [[spoiler: NightmareFace: Has a [[ truely hideous one]] under his mask. TheReveal of the face happens at the same time as the reveal of him being Quartzmon's terminal.]]
** OurDemonsAreDifferent: In the broader ''Digimon'' canon, Astamon is the Perfect form of [[Anime/DigimonSavers Belphemon]], the Demon Lord of Sloth.
** ScarfOfAsskicking: ''Literally.'' He uses the scarf around his neck during battle.
** [[SharpDressedMan Sharp Dressed Mon]]: Much like his partner.
** {{Yakuza}}: Designed like one.

!! Airu Suzaki

Another member of Ryouma's Hunter group, who considers herself a "Digimon Celebrity." She is focused only on collecting cute Digimon, and isn't above violence and the bending of rules if it will get her what she wants.

-> Voiced by: Megumi Han
* [[EvilCounterpart Antagonistic Counterpart]]: Episode 14 in particular frames her as one to Yuu, with both (or their Digimon) being their respective group's TrapMaster.
* BitchInSheepsClothing
* BlushSticker
* CutenessProximity: She is only interested in catching cute Digimon.
* CuteLittleFangs
* EnemyMine: A surprising number of her appearances have her teaming up with the heroes, even temporarily.
* {{Expy}}: Just as Ryouma is similar to Neo, Airu has a few similarities to [[Manga/DigimonVTamer01 Mari Gotojuki]].
* [[spoiler: HeelFaceTurn: As of episode 23.]]
* ImpossibleHourglassFigure
* {{Jerkass}}: She's quite open about mocking other people, and has stated she doesn't care about the rules of the hunt, going as far as trying to steal Digimon who already belong to other hunters.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Has [[CharacterDevelopment become more and more this]], what with all her EnemyMine situations.
* {{Kawaiiko}}: At least in regards to the kinds of Digimon she pursues.
* ShipTease: With Yuu, to the point of being a RunningGag.
* StalkerWithACrush: As of episode 19, she's coming pretty close to being this toward Yuu.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: ''The'' worst example in ''Digimon'' history - she is the only girl of the six prominent characters, and isn't even one of the three main characters and thus has isolated appearances.
* TrapMaster: Uses traps to capture Digimon, which is what makes her useful to Ryouma and Ren.
* {{Tsundere}}: To Yuu.

!! Opossummon

Airu's Digimon partner. A Digimon resembling an opossum holding a set of balloons, she often gets jealous whenever Airu pursues other Digimon or considers them cuter than she is.

Her evolved and [=DigiXros=] forms in this series are as follows:

* '''[=Cho·Hakkaimon=]''', her super evolved form. A humanoid Digimon in what looks like pig-themed armor, based on a ([[GenderFlip male]]) character from ''Literature/JourneyToTheWest''.

-> Voiced by: Creator/RyokoShiraishi
* {{Balloonacy}}: Floats around with three balloons.
* CatSmile: A permanent trait of both her and her balloons.
* CatsAreMean: Again, given she's an antagonist.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Opossummon gets jealous whenever Airu finds a Digimon she thinks is cuter than she.
* MadBomber: '''[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin MAD BALLOON BOMB!]]'''
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter

->'''Tropes Associated With Opossummon's Evolved or [=DigiXros=] forms:'''
* '''FusionDance'''[[note]][=DigiXroses=] without evolving.[[/note]]
** PlayingWithFire: With Candmon.
* '''Cho·Hakkaimon'''
** [[BishonenLine Bishoujo Line]]: Goes from a small mammal to a human in armor.
** CuteBruiser: Much, much stronger that she looks. Gumdramon even calls her "freakishly strong!"
** CuteMonsterGirl
** DropTheHammer: '''KYOUSHIN HŌMURAN!'''[[note]]"Hard-swung Home run"[[/note]] - She wields her weapon called the 'Roketto Dīngpá' that resembles a combination between a hammer and a rake and attacks the opponent with it.
** FullBoarAction
** GenderFlip: Considering the character Cho·Hakkaimon is based on was a male...
** [[LuckyCharmsTitle Lucky Charms Name]]: One of a handful of Digimon to have a non-kana/alphabet symbol in their name, and certainly the only one to have one which doesn't even show up on a conventional keyboard (·).
** PlayingWithFire[=/=]EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: '''BUTA NO MARUYAKI!'''[[note]]"Roast of the Pig"[[/note]]
** UglyCute: In-universe, Airu considers Cho·Hakkaimon to be long as she remains effective, anyway.

!! Ren Tobari

Another member of Ryouma's Hunter team. Despite working with Ryouma, he has no interest in others and prefers to do things his own way. He's proud of the size of his Digimon collection.

-> Voiced by: Creator/HoukoKuwashima
* CollectorOfTheStrange: And he prefers to go for the rare Digimon over the normal variety.
* {{Expy}}: Seems slightly influenced by [[Manga/DigimonVTamer01 Hideto Fujimoto]].
* FauxAffablyEvil: Or simply antagonistic. All of his actions in episode four were done with a kind-looking smile on his face.
* [[spoiler: HeelFaceTurn: As of episode 23.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: His run-in with Tagiru and Yuu makes this trope evident. Also provides a contrast to his partners as he is the only one to have had nothing positive to do with the heroes so far: Ryouma [[AffablyEvil has at least shown the others some measure of legitimate respect]], and Airu [[EnemyMine has taken to semiregularly allying with the heroes]].
** He also has no qualms about hurting or using other humans if it gets him what he wants. In episode six, he had Dracumon magnify the aspiring kendo student, Musashi's, desire to become stronger to dangerous levels before sucking it out of him to increase Dracumon's power.
* ManipulativeBastard: As shown by episode four, where his attempt to help Tagiru and Gumdramon against Blossomon was actually him using them to distract Blossomon so he and his teammates could move in for the kill.
* NiceHat
* TokenEvilTeammate: During the final few episodes, where he [[StaticCharacter really hasn't changed his ways]] but is part of "the good guys" regardless.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair

!! Dracumon

Ren's Digimon partner.

His evolved and [=DigiXros=] forms in this series are as follows:

* '''Yaksamon''', his super evolved form. A masked samurai Digimon wielding two wooden swords.

-> Voiced by: Creator/DaisukeKishio
* CastingAShadow
* EyesDoNotBelongThere: Has a red eye in one palm and a green eye in the other, while only having eye-shaped markings on his face.
* TheHyena: So far, most of what he's done is laugh maniacally.
* ImAHumanitarian: Or Digitarian, or whatever. Either way, he cheerfully takes a bite out of Blossomon, and then comes back for more later on.
-->''"I want seconds!"''
* OurVampiresAreDifferent
* [[spoiler: PerversePuppet]]: Look closely when he evolves. See all that blue? [[spoiler: That's a teddy bear, specifically the one tied to Yaksamon's back.]]
* SlasherSmile: It seems to be a permanent fixture on his face.

->'''Tropes associated with Yaksamon's Evolved or [=DigiXros=] forms:'''

* '''Yaksamon'''
** AscendedExtra: Sort of. Unlike any other main partner Digimon, the Yaksamon species had already shown up several times playing bit parts in earlier anime series (including the original ''Xros Wars'') before ''Young Hunters'' happened and graduated it to being a partner Digimon.
** CoolMask
** DualWielding
** EverythingsBetterWithSamurai
** HornedHumanoid
** LaserBlade: '''ITTOURYOUDAN!'''[[note]]"Bissecting Strike"[[/note]]
** PsychicPowers
** SpellMyNameWithAnS: There's three transliterations of his name which have been the accepted Japanese name at some point or another: Yashamon (the straight transliteration and what certain fansubs goes with), Yasyamon (which is what dub supporting material goes with), and Yaksamon (TV Asahi's spelling and thus the current official Japanese name). They're all correct Romanizations of [[ the origin of his name]] in at least one language ("yaksa" for Thai and Sanskrit, "yasha" and "yasya" for Japanese).
** WoodenKatanasAreEvenBetter
** {{Youkai}}: Specifically, his name is derived from a word for a kind of humanoid youkai.

!!The Watchmaker and Clockmon

A mysterious duo who watch over the Hunter games and give Xros Loaders to whomever wishes to join. His intentions are initially unknown and seem almost sinister, but [[spoiler:when Quartzmon revealed itself, he explained that he had established the Digimon Hunt as a way to control the influence of [=DigiQuartz=] and ultimately work on taking Quartzmon down. In the end, he reveals himself as Bagramon, reincarnated into a good human...somehow.]]

-> Voiced By: Creator/TakeshiKusao (Watchmaker); Yuko Maruyama (Clockmon)
* [[spoiler: TheAtoner]]
* BigGood
* BlatantLies: "I'm just a simple clock shop owner." ''Riiiiiight.''
** PlayedForLaughs in episode 23, where he repeatedly comes up with increasingly [[BadLiar bad]] and [[BlatantLies obvious lies]] to cover up what he's doing.
* CoolShades
* [[spoiler:DeathEqualsRedemption]]
* EnigmaticEmpoweringEntity: Eventually addressed by Shoutmon:
-->''"Seriously, who is that guy?"''
* {{Expy}}: Clockmon is one to the Monitormon from ''[[Anime/DigimonXrosWars Xros Wars]]'', right down to having the same voice actor. It's also an expy of the earlier Clockmon species, as this one has the subtle difference of not having some hooded guy sticking out of its top.
** The Watchman himself seems to fill a similar role to that of [[Anime/DigimonAdventure Gennai]] and [[Anime/DigimonSavers Yushima]].
** Outside the Digimon franchise, Clockmon not only looks, but also sounds extremely similar to Cantate Domino from ''LightNovel/ShakuganNoShana'', and fulfills the same role as helper of a wise yet eccentric entity.
* [[spoiler:HijackedByGanon: An odd and rare HeelFaceTurn example.]]
* LennonSpecs
** [[spoiler: OpaqueLenses: They hide what [[RedEyesTakeWarning his eyes actually look like]].]]
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens
* MysteriousWatcher
* MythologyGag: He spontaneously appears before Mizuki, fishing on a rock, to give her a Xros Loader. Yushima once spontaneously appeared before Masaru, whom he earlier gave a Digivice, apparently fishing; on the other hand, that wasn't [[UpToEleven in the middle of the ocean]].
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: No-one can decide on a consistent translation of his listed name (時計屋のおやじ) - so you've got such diverse terms as Watch Man, Watchmaker, Old Clock Shop Man, Old Clock Store Owner, ad infinitum.
* TimeMaster: Clockmon - '''CHRONO BREAKER!'''
* VerbalTic: Clockmon; "Tick tick tick~"
* TheWatchmaker: Uh, yeah.

!! Mami Takahashi
[[caption-width-right:349:Mami (center) and her friends, Midori Miike (left) and Haruka Hazuki (right)]]

A fellow student of Yuu and Tagiru's who is a big fan of Yuu...and not so big a fan of Tagiru.

-> Voiced by: Yumi Sudou
* BerserkButton: Apparently Tagiru, for both [[IdiotHero good]] and possibly not so good reasons.
* {{Expy}}: She's pretty much Tagiru's [[Anime/DigimonXrosWars Akari]], if significantly less friendly with Tagiru himself.
** She also shares similarities to [[Anime/DigimonAdventure02 Jun]], like being a...
* {{Fangirl}}: Of Yuu-sama.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Mami has no idea what's going on with the Digimon Hunts, and thus, from her perspective, Tagiru is often babbling even more nonsense than usual.
* [[ThoseTwoGuys Those Two Girls]]: Often accompanied by two of Yuu's fellow fangirls, who are named Haruka and Midori.

!!Team Xros Heart

The core members of Taiki's old team from the previous war, who joined Shoutmon in being able to go to [=DigiQuartz=] when Taiki needs them. Just as before, they can still combine with Shoutmon into various [=DigiXrosses=]. [[spoiler:In the confrontation with Quartzmon's hordes of Vamdemon, Ballistamon was given to Zenjiro as his partner, while Dorulumon and Cutemon were partnered with Akari.]]

-> Voiced By: Creator/TakahiroSakurai (Dorulumon); Creator/TakeshiKusao (Ballistamon); Creator/HoukoKuwashima (Cutemon); Creator/BinShimada (Starmon); Creator/KokoroKikuchi (Pickmons); Creator/ShowHayami (Wisemon); Creator/RyokoShiraishi ([=ChibiKamemon=])
* CanisMajor: Dorulumon big enough for humans to ride.
* ChessMotifs: The Pickmons.
* CoolShades: Starmon and the various Pickmons.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Cutemon gets a fair amount of focus in episode five, but then, it may be inaccurate to say that being hounded by Airu is being in "the limelight"...
* FusionDance: In episode 24, the members are Xrossed together to combat Quartzmon's forces.
** ChestBlaster[=/=]TheGunslinger: '''HEAVY THE SHOT!''' - Ballistamon Xrossed with Revolmon.
** ChessMotifs[=/=]ThisIsADrill: '''DORULU CHECKMATE!''' - Dorulumon Xrossed with the Pawnchessmons.
* TheGunslinger: Revolmon.
* JapaneseBeetleBrothers: Ballistamon, based on a hercules beetle.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Cutemon, the Pickmons, and [=ChibiKamemon=].
* ShockAndAwe: Ballistamon. '''DENKI BIRI BIRI!'''[[note]]"Shocking Electricity"[[/note]]
* SuperNotDrowningSkills: [=ChibiKamemon=].
* TheSmartGuy: Wisemon, as usual.
* ThisIsADrill: Dorulumon.
* TurtlePower: [=ChibiKamemon=].

!! Hideaki Mashimo

A Hunter who hunts Digimon for profit, collecting rewards from the people he helps in stopping Digimon. However, he's not interested in the money itself- his dream is to open a takoyaki stand once he's old enough, and until then, he's working to collect the money needed to finance the venture. His Digimon partner is Dobermon.

-> Voiced By: Shuuhei Sakaguchi
* AmbitionIsEvil: [[AvertedTrope Averted.]] His desire to open a takoyaki stand is based on his dream to make people happy, and he'll do whatever he can to ensure he gets the money he needs fairly. It helps that he's genuinely happy to have assisted people.
* [[spoiler: BackForTheFinale]]
* [[ABoyAndHisX A Boy And His Dog]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: He and Dobermon appear in the final scene of the opening sequence, but nothing at all was heard about him for the first month or so of the series' run. It was widely assumed that he was just background filler, like Hirokazu, Kenta and Juri originally were in the ''Anime/DigimonTamers'' opening, and they then became Tamers themselves; it's unclear whether that was the case here or he was planned to be a character from the start.
* {{Expy}}: His hard-working personality, his emphasis on getting money in order to fund a far off goal, and his general NiceGuy and "big brother" sort of attitude remind one of [[Series/KamenRiderOOO Akira Date]].
* HonestJohnsDealership: [[AvertedTrope Averted.]] When he finds out the money he'd made by working with Ganemon was earned fraudulently, he is strongly angered by the Digimon's dishonesty, and at the end of the episode returns all of the money Ganemon stole along with the reward money he had previously gotten, refusing to take a single cent from Ganemon's trickery.
** HardWorkHardlyWorks
* LargeHam: When talking about his dreams.
* MythologyGag: His dream to open a worldwide chain of takoyaki stores is very similar to Daisuke's dream of opening a worldwide chain of noodle vendors in ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02''.
* NiceGuy: What he really wants to do is make people happy; profit is just a means to an end for that.
* WeHelpTheHelpless

!! Dobermon

Hideaki's Digimon partner. Dobermon is an incredibly fast Digimon whose appearance resembles that of a lean, black, and somewhat demonic-looking dog.

-> Voiced By: Tomohisa Hashizume
* [[spoiler: BackForTheFinale]]
* CanineCompanion
* CatchPhrase: [[GratuitousEnglish Yes, sir!]]
** MythologyGag: A certain other [[Anime/DigimonSavers dog-based Digimon]] in an earlier series had a similar catchphrase [[note]]Gaomon, whose catch phrase was "Yes, Master!", and "Sir, yes sir!" in the dub[[/note]].
* DarkIsNotEvil: As with previous incarnations of Dobermon, he's rather demonic-looking, but is generally a good-natured Digimon.
%%* FragileSpeedster
* FunSize: In ''Tamers'', he was about the size of a ten-year-old girl. Here, he's the size of a normal Doberman.
* GratuitousGerman: Both of his attacks, "Grau Lärm" and "Schwarz Strahl."
* HellHound: His design certainly evokes this, but see "DarkIsNotEvil" above.
* NoSell: His "Grau Lärm" technique seals his opponent's abilities.
* TheQuietOne: Other than the occasional growl, he says "Yes, Sir!" two times in his first appearance. Other than that, he doesn't speak.
* SuperSpeed

!!Akari Hinomoto

Taiki's friend and a participant in the war against the Bagra Army, who transferred schools in the year between then and now. As dedicated to helping Taiki as ever, the two of them were lured into a trap by [=SuperStarmon=]. As a result, Akari learned about the battles going on in [=DigiQuartz=], and vowed to help Taiki in whatever way she could from then on.[[spoiler:.. which she did by, in the fight with Quartzmon's hordes, gaining a X Loader of her own and becoming a Hunter and the partner of Dorulumon and Cutemon.]]

->Voiced By: Creator/RyokoShiraishi
* [[spoiler: BackForTheFinale]]
* BigEater
* TheBusCameBack
* CharacterDevelopment: Contrast her attitude here to her attitude in the early episodes of ''Anime/DigimonXrosWars''. Akari immediately and calmly follows Taiki's lead when they're pulled into [=DigiQuartz=], and is rather laid back when she learns about what was going on. All of this is far removed from the girl who originally only cared about getting home.
* CrazyPrepared: Her RunningGag of always having a pillow ready for when when Taiki is about to collapse continues.
* [[spoiler:EleventhHourRanger: The Watchmaker tosses her a Xros Loader and she gets Dorulumon, Cutemon, and the [=PawnChessmons=].]]
* GirlishPigtails
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Taiki avoided telling her and Zenjirou about what was going on because he was afraid of them getting wrapped up in another dangerous battle.
* LoopholeAbuse: She's the one who helps Taiki figure out that he can form Shoutmon X4 by performing Double Xros with someone else.
* ZettaiRyouiki: Grade C now.

!!Zenjirou Tsurugi

Another one of Taiki's friends from the war against the Bagra Army. Zenjirou originally had no idea of what was occurring in [=DigiQuartz=], but then found out from Taiki after the ordeal with [=SuperStarmon=]. [[spoiler:In the end, he gets his wish and gets a X Loader, becoming a Hunter and the partner of Ballistamon.]]

* [[spoiler: BackForTheFinale]]
* TheBusCameBack
* [[spoiler:EleventhHourRanger: The watchmaker tosses him an Xros Loader and he gets Ballistamon and Revolmon.]]
* JumpedAtTheCall: His first question upon returning? Asking where the old guy giving out Xros Loaders is. [[spoiler: In episode 24, he gets his wish.]]
* LargeHam: As big a one as ever.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: That is, until Taiki told him.
* PluckyComicRelief: In the sense that that was the entire point of his only brief appearance so far.
* RummageSaleReject: His shirt. ''His shirt''. Behold it and marvel.
!!Nene Amano

Yuu's older sister, who served as a General of Xros Heart in the war against the Bagra Empire. In the year since, she's made a name for herself in Hong Kong as an idol singer. Though initially unaware of [=DigiQuartz=] or the Digimon Hunts, Nene found herself being stalked by a mysterious masked man and a Digimon named Harpymon, and contacted her brother and the rest of Xros Heart to help her. Harpymon was stopped, and the masked man was revealed to be Yuu and Nene's father, who had been manipulated by Harpymon into being overprotective of her. Nene and her father reconciled, and she returned to her idol career.

-> Voiced By: Creator/HoukoKuwashima
* [[spoiler: BackForTheFinale]]
* TheBusCameBack
* TheCallKnowsWhereYouLive: Literally, in her dad's case.
* CelebrityIsOverrated: Averted. Nene is pretty happy with her career, and is shown as being rather competent and engaging in her work. Her father's ''belief'' in this trope, however, is what causes him to fall prey to Harpymon.
* HairDecorations: Wears red bows in her hair in one of her stage outfits.
* IdolSinger
* LockedOutOfTheLoop
* MagicSkirt: In one of her stage outfits, which she ends up fighting in. Her standard outfit seems to have replaced this with a pair of shorts.
* ShipTease: With Kiriha.
* TookALevelInBadass: Nene was pretty capable before, but even though it was just for a movie, you can't help but appreciate Nene showing off her ability to ''kick the crap'' out of several other guys. They were actors in a movie, yes, so no one got hurt, but she really beat them down! (Or at least that's what it looked like.)
* WhenYouComingHomeDad: Episode ten reveals her to be this, with her being at odds with her father over his constant absence due to business, and her lack of support in her chosen career. Considering what the Amano siblings went through in the first series, this makes a lot of sense.

One of Nene's Digimon partners, who appears to have stayed with her ever since the war.

One of Nene's Digimon partners, who appears to have stayed with her ever since the war.

Her evolved and [=DigiXros=] forms in this series are as follows:
* '''[=JetMervamon=]''', Xrossed with Sparrowmon. Mervamon is equipped with Sparrowmon's guns and jetpack, and as such has the ability to fly.

!!Kiichi Funabashi
A classmate of Tagiru's who is a huge fan of locomotives and railroads, he befriended a Locomon in [=DigiQuartz=]. Not interested in Hunting, he instead opts to travel the world with Locomon and any kids who desire to ride with them.

->Voiced by: Creator/MakikoOhmoto
* [[ABoyAndHisX A Boy And His Train]]
* [[spoiler: BackForTheFinale]]
* BlushSticker
* CoolHat: Has one that looks like a conductor's.
* {{Otaku}}: For trains.
** {{Keet}}: When he first met Locomon, he got just as worked up about how awesome he is as Tagiru gets about...well, everything. He even does the steam-out-of-the-nose thing!
* RailEnthusiast
* RefusalOfTheCall: Of a sort; he's not interested in Digimon Hunting, and only got a Xros Loader from the Watchmaker so he could stay with Locomon.
* TheSleepless: Runs himself to exhaustion while spending all night travelling with Locomon.

Kiichi's Digimon partner. He's a Digimon in the shape of a locomotive. He was tempted by Ren's claims that he could unlock his true potential to become faster, but decided he preferred enjoying travelling with Kiichi. After escaping the control of Airu's Parasimon, he officially returned to Kiichi's side.

->Voiced by: Creator/EijiTakemoto
* [[spoiler: BackForTheFinale]]
* BeYourself: See [[GoodOldRobot Good Old Train]] below.
* CoolTrain: He doesn't need rails to get around; ''he flies''.
* ForHappiness: Runs on the smiles of his passengers, in a rare benevolent version (for this series) of the EmotionEater trope.
* [[GoodOldRobot Good Old Train]]: Eventually decides to embrace being a slow, dependable steam engine rather than a reckless speedster.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Gains glowing versions of these while under the influence of Parasimon while having eyes that are ''already'' red.
* WholePlotReference: To the second ''Anime/DigimonTamers'' movie, ''The Runaway Digimon Express''.
** RunawayTrain
** TooFastToStop: His dream was to go as fast as possible, and then some. When Airu's Parasimon latches onto him, however, he's unable to stop (mainly because Parasimon kept him from working the brakes).

!!Kiriha Aonuma

Taiki's former rival turned ally from the war with the Bagra Empire. After the war, Kiriha spent some time in America, and he learned of [=DigiQuartz=] and started investigating of his own accord, meeting up with Greymon and the rest of Blue Flare again along the way. He participated in and ultimately won the Hunter competition on the southern island.

->Voiced by: Creator/TakeshiKusao
* [[spoiler: BackForTheFinale]]
* BadassLongcoat[=/=]BlackCloak: He spent most of the episode observing everyone from afar in one of these.
* TheBusCameBack
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: Sort of - it's pretty similar to how it was at the end of ''Xros Wars'', but it's much less sharp and angular, reflecting the culmination of him becoming significantly less of a {{jerkass}}.
* ShipTease: With Nene.
* TokyoIsTheCenterOfTheUniverse: He describes Japan as "the most important of places" insofar as dealing with Digimon.
* TrapMaster: His traps are the ones which bring down Volcdramon.
* WalkingTheEarth: He intends to travel the world riding [=MetalGreymon=], to further investigate [=DigiQuartz=].

!! Greymon

Kiriha's primary partner Digimon, who along with the rest of Blue Flare rejoined Kiriha during his investigations into [=DigiQuartz=]. A powerful combatant with a fierce personality to match, he's loyal to Kiriha to a fault.

His evolved and Xrossed forms are as follows:
* '''[=MetalGreymon=]''', Xrossed with [=MailBirdramon=]. He gains armour and weaponry reminiscent of [[Anime/DigimonAdventure the original MetalGreymon]].
* '''[=ZekeGreymon=]''', his super evolved form, accessible only from the [=MetalGreymon=] form. A gigantic, golden-armored evolution of [=MetalGreymon=], armed with cannons and other powerful weaponry.

->Voiced by: Creator/TakeshiKusao

Three Hunters who participated in the hunt for Volcdramon and were later on the receiving end of Betsumon's trickery. Their Digimon partners are Witchmon, Allomon, and [=ShimaUnimon=], respectively.

->Voiced by: Kouta Nemoto (Haruki), Yuuta Kasuya (Noboru), and Creator/HiroshiOkamoto (Ken)

[[folder: Other Digimon]]

The same Pinocchimon who Taiki and the other members of Xros Heart met in Dust Zone during the war with the Bagra Empire. In episode three, he appears, not recognizing Taiki and Shoutmon, and trying to convince the Robot Club of the characters' school to build [=GigaBreakdramon=], in order to use its power to make himself the strongest Digimon in the world. Thankfully, Taiki and Shoutmon were able to snap him out of it.

* PinocchioNose: Just as before. Only this time, Taiki and Shoutmon recognize it.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: This is what snaps him out of whatever it was affecting him.

A Digimon who appeared in [=DigiQuartz=] and mentored both Tagiru and Musashi Kenzaki in the art of kendo. He was originally suspected of aiding Musashi in taking down other kendo students, but ultimately, he was not responsible. He ended up lending his power to Tagiru and Gumdramon, joining their team.

** ShockAndAwe: '''THUNDER KOTE!'''[[note]]"Kote" being a kendo term for a wrist stroke.[[/note]]
* NiceGuy: Unlike a lot of the other Digimon our heroes have met (who in fairness were BrainwashedAndCrazy), Kotemon reached out to humans because he genuinely wanted to help them better themselves. He then trained Tagiru because he was worried about Musashi and thought Tagiru could get through to him via a kendo match.
* OldMaster
* VocalDissonance: Looking at him, you'd expect him to sound like a small child [[Anime/DigimonFrontier as he did previously]][[note]]which makes sense because Kotemon is a Child-level Digimon[[/note]]. However, he has the voice of a relatively old man.
* [[WoodenKatanasAreEvenBetter Wooden Swords Are Even Better]]: His personal weapon is a shinai, a traditional kendo weapon made of grass and wood.

Tagiru captured this Digimon after it terrorized an okonomiyaki shop owner into cooking for it. Pagumon ended up inadvertently causing a falling-out between Tagiru and Gumdramon, and after trying its first actual bite of okonomiyaki went berserk. A Digimon shaped like a 10 yen coin who sent his Zenimon and [=KoZenimon=] into a shopping district in order to collect money for him, so he could devour enough of the human greed attached to it in order to increase his power. After using an unwitting Hideaki and Tagiru to help him, his true nature became known, and he was defeated. Afterwards, he joined Hideaki's team and was made to atone for his actions by returning the money he'd stolen.

* EmotionEater: Ganemon devours money, but it's the greed attached to it that powers him up.

A Digimon who resembles Starmon. He captured a number of famous individuals in order to put them in his "collection" of superstars, and intended to add Taiki to his list. * LargeHam

A Digimon who grew stronger by absorbing the motivation of humans, leaving them listless and weak. Tagiru and Gumdramon went after him, only for Tagiru to become [=FlaWizarmon's=] next victim. He proceeded to take on Tagiru's personality, and as such, proved to be nearly unbeatable, until Tagiru regained his resolve and defeated him with the help of Arresterdramon.

->Voiced By: Creator/DaisukeSakaguchi
* [[spoiler: BackForTheFinale]]
* CoolHat: His hat is ''[[IncendiaryExponent on fire]].''
* {{Determinator}}: Due to absorbing Tagiru's "determinator-ness". [=FlaWizarmon=] effectively weaponizes it, and uses it to survive being otherwise beaten by Tuwarmon and [=OmegaShoutmon=]. This folds like a house of cards once Tagiru points out it isn't really ''his'' determination, and is just stolen.
* EmotionEater: Specifically, other people's motivation.

Two Digimon who, in an attempt to improve their ramen, partnered up with the father of Tagiru's classmate, Masaru, whose own ramen was lacking. Together, the three of them became successful, with the side effect of all three coming to devalue their own customers. Masaru, Tagiru and the others challenged the ogres to a ramen contest, and when they lost, Ogremon and Fugamon attempted to take Masaru's father back by force. ** This also applies to their preferred ingredients.
* StockFemurBone: Ogremon and Fugamon's weapons of choice.

Poyomon, believing her to be a bully, attacked Airu and kidnapped Opposumon to get back at her. A Digimon that Hiroya befriended as a [=KnightChessmon=] and helped him steal rare cards so he could be the best at a popular card game. !! Tokio Hinoki

A member of Tagiru and Yuu's school robotics club. Desperate to create a robot design capable of winning a competition, he and his friends are manipulated by Pinocchimon into helping him complete [=GigaBreakdramon=].

-> Voiced by: Akemi Okamura
* [[spoiler: BackForTheFinale]]
* ContinuityNod: Tokio shows up in the following episode, having apparently started showing up for class again. He crops up again in episode thirteen.
* InsufferableGenius: When under the effects of his desire.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: His and his friends' reactions upon realizing just what their creation is capable of.
* {{Workaholic}}: Again, another effect of the aforementioned situation.

!! Miho Sudou

Another member of Tagiru and Yuu's class. Miho became frustrated with her jealousy towards students who did achieved higher scores than her, and thus became corrupted through contact with Blossomon, who helped her get revenge. She was ultimately saved and resolved of her issues thanks to Yuu and the other hunters.

!!Musashi Kenzaki

A kendo practitioner who was beaten by Taiki and swore to defeat him. He became a student of Kotemon, who tried to help him improve his technique. Yuu and Nene's father, a prominent businessman. Because of his work, he is often estranged from his wife and children, but loves them very much all the same. [[spoiler: That love, and worry for Nene over her idol career, is what led to Harpymon taking advantage of him and feeding off his feelings. !!Masaru and Katsuji
[[caption-width-right:250:Masaru (left) and his father Katsuji (right)]]

A father and son whose family own and operate a ramen restaurant. Katsuji was a decent ramen chef - whose personal recipe included a decent fish stock but less decent quality noodles - but a rival store began to take their business. Eager to improve his business, Katsuji accepted Ogremon and Fugamon's help, combining their recipes. Though the restaurant experienced better business, Masaru was ashamed to find his father becoming less and less concerned with satisfying his customers, even berating those who didn't care for the new recipe. Masaru challenged Fugamon and Ogremon to a ramen competition with Tagiru and the others' help, and snapped his father out of it by making Katsuji's original recipe. Ultimately, Katsuji improved business by reaching a compromise, accepting the two Digimons' contributions to improve his own recipe while keeping theirs on the menu as well.

* RamenSlurp: Only natural that their episode brings about this trope.
* SupremeChef: Averted, in the case of both father and son. Katsuji's ramen recipe is lacking on its own, and Masaru's isn't fit to be sold. It's only what it ''represented'' that had any significance.
* UnsatisfiableCustomer: Subverted, in that Katsuji's inability to suffer ''any'' criticism of "his" new recipe is the source of the problem.

!!Makoto Tamura

A young boy who became desperate to have friends because of his constant moving around. He encounters Phelesmon disguised as an angel in [=DigiQuartz=] and is offered the chance to have friends by the Digimon. Makoto takes the offer and hypnotizes his class with the help of Phelesmon's power but eventually falls under the spell as well. When Tagiru, Yuu, and Taiki try to stop him from bringing his creations to life, Shouta and Ekakimon enter [=DigiQuartz=] to create the strongest UMA to battle them. Unbeknownst to Hiroya, [=KnightChessmon=] was just using him and absorbing his greed for strength in order to super evolve into [=RookChessmon=]. When he followed Tagiru and Hideaki into [=DigiQuartz=], he captures it, only to find that it was a part of [=MetallifeKuwagamon=]. Afterward, he was captured by the Digimon and held hostage so it could escape.

[[folder:Returning characters and their Digimon]]
Characters from the five prior ''Digimon'' anime series. They were recruited from their own universes by the Watch Man and spread out throughout the world in order to combat the threat of Quartzmon's international apparitions, with the five leaders in particular - Tai, Davis, Takato, Takuya and Marcus - required, as five of the six legendary heroes who saved their worlds (the sixth being Taiki himself), to come to Tokyo and help take on Quartzmon himself.

!!!Tropes applying to the returning heroes in general:
* TheCameo: Silhouettes of other past characters not given a proper appearance are seen in the beginning of episode 24: (in order) ''Tamers''!Beelzemon, Sora and Garudamon, Yolei and Aquilamon, Keenan and Ravemon, [=MegaGargomon=], Beetlemon, [=MagnaGarurumon=], Cody and Ankylomon, Angemon, Angewomon, and Justimon. The brief appearances of Joe, Gomamon and Tentomon are this in a more conventional sense.
* CanonImmigrant
* CrisisCrossover
* EleventhHourRanger: All of them, being that they showed up in the fourth-last episode and didn't start really doing anything until the second-last.
* TheVoiceless: A disappointing number of those who got prominent roles remained completely silent in their appearances. This got particularly awkward with some of the Digimon, because after all, this franchise is very well-known for CallingYourAttacks. Several of the characters who did speak were originally voiced by actors who ''also'' voiced regulars in Xros War-- the only Frontier character to speak besides Takuya was Tomoki, who shares a seiyuu with Gumdramon.

! ''Anime/DigimonAdventure''
!!Taichi "Tai" Kamiya
The leader of the Chosen Children of ''Anime/DigimonAdventure''. He first showed up on a boat sailing through the [=DigiQuartz=] with other Digimon protagonists. * TheDeterminator
* TheHero
* GogglesDoNothing: The progenitor of this trend, by proxy of ''Manga/DigimonVTamer01''.
* {{Hotblooded}}
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: Like in ''Adventure'' and ''Adventure 02'', the non-whites parts of his eyes are entirely brown with no distinct pupil; Mimi, Davis, Ken, Matt, and Joe aside, this is not the case for any other human in this series. This is particularly odd since Marcus's design was modified to conform with this series' art style, yet those from ''Adventure'' and ''Adventure 02'' went untouched[[note]]characters from ''Tamers'' and ''Frontier'' didn't need any modification; ''Tamers'' and ''Frontier'' are similar in style to ''XWYH''[[/note]].

!! Agumon

Tai's Digimon partner. He was first seen on a boat with his partner, and later appeared to battle against a giant floating island with a face, saving Tagiru from being consumed by it in the process.

His evolved and [=DigiXros=] forms in this series are as follows:

* '''[=WarGreymon=]''', his Mega level form. An anthropomorphic dinosaur, with golden mech-armor.
* '''Omnimon''', a fusion with [=MetalGarurumon=]. A white paladin-like figure wielding a [=WarGreymon=]-themed sword and a [=MetalGarurumon=]-themed cannon.

->Voiced by: Creator/ChikaSakamoto
* BashBrothers: With Marcus's Agumon, it seems.
* CanonImmigrant
* EverythingsBetterWithDinosaurs
* OneSteveLimit: Averted. There are multiple Agumon of some importance in the ''Xros Wars'' canon - this one, Marcus's, and the three that comprise a [=DigiMemory=].

* '''[=WarGreymon=]'''
** EnergyBall: '''TERRA FORCE!'''
** EverythingsBetterWithDinosaurs

* '''Omnimon'''
** AdaptationalWimp: Very much a downplayed trope, but it's there. In his own series, he's orders of magnitude more powerful than his two constituent Digimon, and able to destroy thousands of Mega level digimon with a single casual attack. Here, while still undeniably badass, he's only a bit more impressive than WarGreymon and decidedly cannot destroy all the attacking Myotismon at once

Daisuke's Digimon partner. He was first seen on a boat with his partner, and later appeared to battle against Quartzmon's forces.

His evolved and mode changed forms in this series are as follows:

* '''Magnamon''', his armor evolved form using the Armor Digi-Egg of Miracles. A larger, bulkier V-mon with golden armor.
* '''Imperialdramon''', his DNA Digivolved Mega form with Ken's Stingmon. An enormous black dragon with red wings.
* '''Imperialdramon Fighter Mode''', a humanoid Mode Changed version of Imperialdramon.

* TheVoiceless: A weird example, since Creator/JunkoNoda, Veemon's original voice actress, voiced Shouta in ''Hunters'', yet didn't reprise her role as V-mon.

->'''Tropes associated with Veemon's Digivolved or mode changed forms:'''
* '''Magnamon'''
** {{Continuity Nod}} Seems to switch to Imperialdramon because his energy ran out, in his series the only time he became Magnamon resulted in him losing energy rather quickly
** DragonKnight: He's a Holy Knight, that is essentially a humanoid dragon wearing holy armor.
** GoldenSuperMode: a much more powerful variant of Veemon that wears some seriously spiffy golden armor.

** {{BFG}}: The Giga Crusher, fires a massive Dark Matter blast. Also the Positron Laser, but it makes a much smaller explosion
** LargeAndInCharge: Decidedly the largest of the main protagonists' Digimon by a massive margin.
*** YourSizeMayVary: He's no where near this big in his original series. ( or rather, the other Digimon seem to have been made smaller by comparison)
** PersonOfMassDestruction: His Giga Crusher attack makes a really big bang, although most Ultimate and Mega level Digimon are this by default.
** SuperMode

!!''Ken Ichijouji''

->Voiced by: Creator/RomiPark
* CanonImmigrant: To a bigger extent than nearly everyone else: He started in the Wonderswan games, before joining 02 proper.
* ChildProdigy
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: it should be noted that, next to what has already been addressed in Taichi's entry above, the animators gave him the kind of narrow, lightless eyes he sported during the Digimon Emperor arc (in contrast to the [[GoodEyesEvilEyes bigger eyes]] he had later on), yet the presence of Stingmon and the DNA Digivolution (and him helping out the others in general) clearly shows that this part of his story has been over for a while already.

His evolved and mode changed forms in this series are as follows:

* '''Gallantmon''', Guilmon's Mega form achieved by Takato Bio-Merging with him. An imposing white knight with a red cape.

!! Agumon
Masaru's Digimon partner, who calls him ''aniki'' (big bro). He was first seen on a boat with his partner, and later appeared to battle against a giant floating island with a face, saving Tagiru from being consumed by it in the process.

His digivolved forms in this series are as follows:

* '''"Agumon Burst Mode"''', the Burst Mode form of Agumon. Basically Agumon surrounded by a dragon shaped flame, allowing him to fly.
* '''[=ShineGreymon=]''', his Mega level form. A winged knight-like dragon-themed warrior.
* '''[=ShineGreymon Burst Mode=]''', the Burst Mode form of [=ShineGreymon=]. Basically rhe same but recolored and has flaming wings, and a flaming shield and sword.

->Voiced by: Creator/TaikiMatsuno
* BashBrothers: With Tai's Agumon, it seems.
* BigEater
* CanonImmigrant
* EverythingsBetterWithDinosaurs
* {{Expy}}: To Tai's Agumon.
* OneSteveLimit: Averted. There are multiple Agumon of some importance in the ''Xros Wars'' canon - this one, Taichi's, and the three that comprise a [=DigiMemory=].
* PlayingWithFire
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Fried eggs.
* TheVoiceless: In episode 78, which is weird because he was properly voiced just two episodes before.
