Right after that, he is immediately enlisted into the Goggle Five as its leader.

* BigDamnHeroes: Guess who always threw the first Goggle Saber and yell its name. He also debuts this way.

* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: For being Goggle Red, Akama is the prominent user of [[BadassBiker the motorcycle]] and is the only one allowed to throw the Golden Spear.
* TheLeader: Leader of the Goggle V.
* OverCrank: The screen tends to slow down when he does the Red Punch.

He is the closest you can get to the Goggles' [[TheLancer second in command]], though being [[TheChessmaster a real smart chess player]], he's often landed with [[TheStrategist strategy devising]] roles and [[TheSmartGuy has a quick wit]].

* BruceLeeClone: Episode 9 sets him up in a {{Calvinball}} game on martial arts. Then he got his shirt off, starts yelling "WATAAAH!" and uses the famous flying kick. Not to mention that as Goggle Black, one of his weapons is... nunchaku.
* TheChessmaster & ChessMotifs: He could use some chess pieces as a throwing weapon. Also, coming up to conclusion and devising strategies, as well as mastering complex techniques.
* EasyAmnesia: He once fell for it when fighting Boar Mozoo. [[spoiler:[[BatmanGambit Though he's just faking to get him off guard.]]]]
* TheLancer: Mainly, since he is the second in command and is willing to hit Akama down if he's pushing himself too far.
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: Nearly implemented. There is a [[JidaiGeki Sengoku-era]] strategist named ''Kuroda Kan'''b'''ei''. Kanpei is just different in ''one'' letter (and even then, a deeper spelling of 'pe' is 'be'), and he's also similarly TheStrategist of the team.

* GratuitousEnglish: In Episode 8, he utters one Engrish sentence.
* KidAppealCharacter: Youngest of the men (still older than Miki) and is the 'kid-friendly' guy.
* OddFriendship: Sort of. With Kijima, one that could be counted as his closest friend.
* PapaWolf: Try to harm kids in front of Aoyama. I dare you.
* RingsOfDeath: Blue (Sapphire Jet) Ring
* TheSmartGuy: He at least aspires to be an inventor... though only one invention came out of it: a JetPack. Also pretty good in stealth missions and uses lots of back flips in combat.
** He is also kind of CrazyPrepared. When he got captured in Episode 8, he just happens to hide a mean of escape, a makeshift bomb, ''inside his shoes''.

* BookDumb: The rest of the Goggles can help their KidSidekick with homework, but not Kijima. He's not exactly your best bet for that kinda stuff.
* ButtMonkey: Yeah, in between getting whacked like a mole by accident, a Mozoo shot at his butt, getting his pants down thanks to a gunshot, getting a draw in that {{Calvinball}} situation above (while the rest of the Goggles won) or even debuting the show by falling off the stairs... We could go on forever with Kijima.
* {{Hachimaki}}: Often wears a headband around his head.
* OddFriendship: Best buds with Aoyama.
* ParentalAbandonment: The ''only'' member who averts this, as his father is alive and they even get to meet.
* PluckyComicRelief: He's the main source of comedy in the series, usually because he's the one most often on the receiving end of misfortune.
* StoutStrength: Can singlehandedly push a huge boulder that required one Mozoo and lots of Mooks to push.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Lots of grappling moves and throws, but the Atomic Drop on a mook is the best example.

* CoolBigSis: Towards her Computer Girl (Akane).
* {{Crossdresser}}: Give her a wig and she could pass up as a [[KnightInShiningArmor handsome prince]].
* {{Expy}}: By WordOfGod, she's based on Honey Kisaragi, the titular character from ''Anime/CutieHoney''.
* ImageSong: She's probably one of the first character in Franchise/SuperSentai to receive one, titled ''Hanasaku Goggle Pink''. First sang by someone, then her actress sang her own version.
* FirstNameBasis: The only one to be called by her first name, the rest are called by their last names.
* GlassCannon: Given that Miki is a petite young woman and only 16 at that she's initially not quite as durable as the guys and in one early episode is seriously injured by an explosion the rest mostly walk off. Akane even briefly has a breakdown that she chose someone too frail to be the team's female warrior and made a mistake. Miki recovers though and toughens up as the show goes on.
* MasterOfDisguise: All she needs is to just spin around, and she can switch costumes at will. Read the {{Expy}} entry for reasons why)
* MsFanservice: Always walk around with short pants that reveal her thighs, sometimes makes a cute wink and then, there's that one episode where she disguises herself as a Flamenco Dancer... ''that's hot''.
* MythologyGag: She quoted [[Series/JAKQDengekitai Karen Mizuki/Heart Queen]] after using her hypnosis "Do you want another?". Her one-time mirror usage might also be another one for [[Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger Peggy Matsuyama/Momoranger]].
* PluckyGirl: Got bombed directly, but still gets back up to not worry her friends. Completely trapped in a devil diary that is about to be burnt and her friends can't get her out, yet she gets out anyway.
* ShoutOut: Her MasterOfDisguise abilities are one to ''Anime/CutieHoney''.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: The only female among the Goggle V. She is also very pink and frequently the DamselInDistress.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: She's 16 years old and seems to be living by herself like an adult.
