A group of alien invaders who conquer planets to harvest the DNA of their native lifeforms so they can be used to create genetic monstrosities to serve the Mess in future invasions.
----
* AlienInvaders: They hail from space and are looking to invade Earth.
* EvilWillFail: Thanks to Ra Deus, Lee Keflen and the Alien Hunters all screwing each other over in various ways Mess ends up collapsing within itself, so much that by the time of the finale [[spoiler:the recently [[DragonAscendant ascendant]] Keflen can only create one last beast against the Flashman, the Demoss which proves to be far less of a problem than Ra Deus was. In the end Keflen goes down quickly and the biggest threat to the Flashman ends up being their deteriorating conditions rather than the remains of Mess.]]
* FlyingSaucer: The Laboh, Mess' colossal disc-shaped mothership.
* LEGOGenetics: The Mess' modus operandi is splicing and manipulating the genes of various creatures to create monsters.
* ShoutOut: The Mess' motif calls back to a lot of B-movie tropes about aliens, what with their FlyingSaucer-like base, [[InsectoidAliens insectoid]] {{Mooks}}, [[TripodTerror tripod]] fighters and goal of abducting people to perform experiments on them.
* StandardEvilEmpireHierarchy

* CoolMask: Wears a very spooky white featureless mask.
* ClimaxBoss: [[spoiler:While he perishes just short of the finale, Ra Deus is the toughest opponent the Flashmen face in the series and his battle against them tests their strength and bonds with one another. Though Keflen is the final foe, the confrontation with him is a psychological one rather than a physical one.]]
* CreepyLongFingers: Lah Deus' finger tips are very lanky and long.
* EvilSoundsDeep: Has a deep, booming voice courtesy of Creator/UnshoIshizuka.

* OrcusOnHisThrone: While by far the strongest of the Mess, Lah Deus spends most of his time barking orders at Keflen and take to the field until late into the series.

Then he gets put through the Gene Synthesizer to make a new Beast Warrior, only to reemerge from it no worse for the wear. ''Then'' he tanks a shot from the Flashmen's Rolling Vulcan. In the end it takes two consecutive {{Finishing Move}}s from the Flashmen to destroy him, and even then the end of the final episode implies [[TheEndOrIsIt he may not be gone for good...]]]]

* EvilCounterpart: To the Flashmen as a whole, having no memory of Earth while taken from his home world by Ra Deus to serve his needs. Unlike the Flashmen, who were raised by the Flash System's people and were informed of Earth at a young age, Keflen only learned his origins late in the series.

* ForcedIntoEvil: [[spoiler: Keflen wouldn't have become what he had become if Ra Deus didn't kidnapped him when he was an infant and raised him as his subordinate.]]
