Faiza Hussain is a British Pakistani Muslim doctor who gained super powers when hit by a Skrull laser whilst attending the wounded on the streets of London during the Skrull invasion of Earth. These powers appear to give Faiza a huge amount of control over matter at a sub-atomic level. So far she has shown the ability to completely deconstruct a human body into its base parts while keeping the person alive. She was also able to stop the motor functions of several Skrulls at once in order to assist Black Knight in a fight.

* NotWearingTights: Faiza sticks to civilian clothes.
** Until she started wearing knightly armour, of course
%%* ShipTease: With Dane Whitman.

[[folder:Pete Wisdom]]
!!Peter "Pete" Paul Wisdom
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wisdom16.jpg]]
!!!'''Nationality:''' English
!!!'''Species:''' Human mutant
!!! '''First Appearance:''' ''Excalibur'' #86 (February, 1995)

Pete Wisdom was an agent for the British government organization Black Air, a group that conducted research and investigation of supernatural phenomena. Now Pete is the director of [=MI13=], the department of the UK government that handles supernatural threats.
----
* AlternateCompanyEquivalent: There's an [[{{Fanwank}} old fan theory]] that he was an attempt to make Marvel's equivalent to [[ComicBook/{{Hellblazer}} John Constantine]]. In terms of personality, this isn't far off. In terms of position, however, he's closer to Maxwell Lord prior to his FaceHeelTurn, or as Director [=MI13=], Amanda Waller.
* AuthorAvatar: Of Creator/WarrenEllis while he was writing him. Probably why no one else could quite write him the same afterwards.
* TheAtoner: For his Black Air days.
* BadassInANiceSuit: Before and after he ditches the trench-coat.
* BadassLongcoat: He eventually ditches it, to become a BadassInANiceSuit.
* CharacterDevelopment: Pete Wisdom has abandoned the trenchcoats and the cigarettes, given up the drinking and womanising (well... mostly) and most of the cynical attitude. He comes across as having been [[ShellShockedVeteran shaken by his experiences]]; he's gotten more professional, wiser and sadder than he was before. There were signs of this in the ''Pryde/Wisdom'' limited series and this has continued into ''Captain Britain and MI:13''. He reverts a little during his appearances in ''Gambit'', though this probably has a lot to do with having to deal with the [[{{ComicBook/Gambit}} titular character]], who enjoys [[TheGadfly winding people up]].
%%* TheChessmaster: He plans very, very well, as shown in ''Vampire State.''
%%* DarkAndTroubledPast: His past is not a pleasant one by any means.
* DeadpanSnarker: Pete Wisdom ''started off'' as a jaded, cynical snarker. During Tieri's short run on New Excalibur he became [[ButtMonkey the butt of the humour]]. In the ''Wisdom'' miniseries and ''Captain Britain and MI: 13'' he gets a few snappy lines but for the most part he seems to be playing StraightMan to the weirdness of the rest of the team.
* EyepatchOfPower: When he got one in X-Force, though it turned out that he didn't need it. He was only wearing it to [[InvokedTrope invoke this trope]]. And for its effect on the ladies.
* FakingTheDead: His friends saw him get shot in the head. They mourned him and held a funeral for him. He turned up, months later, NotQuiteDead. Apparently, [[AssPull it was all some kind of trick]].
* FamedInStory: Gambit notes before they meet that while he doesn't know Wisdom personally, he's heard a lot of stories - which usually involve someone dying and Wisdom walking away. During ''Vampire State'', Norman Osborn states that he considers Wisdom 'a fellow player'. [[YourApprovalFillsMeWithShame Wisdom is not in the slightest bit pleased]].
* HandsomeLech: Frank Tieri [[{{Flanderization}} flanderized]] him into a KavorkaMan.
* HeartbrokenBadass[=/=]HitmanWithAHeart: He used to be part of an amoral government-funded Black Ops organization, until he decided that they had crossed the MoralEventHorizon, and that he had to quit. His employers [[ContractOnTheHitman weren't exactly pleased with this]].
* KnightInSourArmour: He's grumpy, foul-mouthed and somewhat amoral, but he is ultimately dedicated to the defense of the realm.
* TheLancer: To Brian, being more collected and pragmatic to Brian’s straight up hero.
* ManipulativeBastard: He plays Dracula like a harp in ''Vampire State.''
* MayDecemberRomance: With Kitty Pryde. She was approximately 18 at the time, but he's (apparently) older than Colossus, so the large age gap is still there.
* NotWearingTights: Everyone else can wear what they like, but Pete Wisdom sticks with his suit.
* NinetiesAntihero: This faded away over time, during his time with ''{{ComicBook/Excalibur}}.''
* PlayingWithFire: His mutant power to to create knifelike spouts of flame from his fingertips.
* ReallyGetsAround: A downplayed example, but save for when he's dating Kitty, he's rarely seen with the same woman twice.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He tolerates Gambit and grudgingly believes him when he says he was being compelled to help steal [=MI13=]'s arsenal (the evidence of the explosive cuff with a listening device attached to his leg helped).
* SecretPublicIdentity: His name is public but his real identityis a secret.
%%* ShootTheDog: He's usually the one to do this.
* SirSwearsALot: Exceptionally foul-mouthed, which contrasts him with the relatively clean-cut X-Men.
* SmokingIsCool: He eventually ditched the cigarettes.
* SuddenlyBilingual: In the ''Wisdom'' miniseries he gives a scathingly xenophobic speech, in English, in a Welsh bar, deliberately provoking a brawl with Drake and his gang. Then, once the fighting's delegated to ComicBook/ShangChi, he wanders outside and drops into fluent Welsh to chat to Dai Thomas.
* TheSpymaster: Runs [=MI13=], Britain's superhuman branch of the secret service.
* TrenchcoatBrigade: In the original Excalibur series.
%%* TricksterMentor: To X-Force.
