[[folder:The Adamas]]

!!Joseph Adama (Esai Morales)

* AmoralAttorney
* BumblingDad: When it comes to Willie, Joseph generally is unsure of how to proceed. It's clear from early on his relationship with his son is strained, all the more so because he's preoccupied with [[DaddysGirl Tamara]]. His brother calls it out on him several times.
* DealWithTheDevil: The [[TheMafia Ha'la'tha]] paid for his college and law school education.
* PapaWolf: At least when it comes to Tamara. He will go to ''any'' lengths necessary to protect her. Somewhat {{Deconstructed}} in that it turns out she neither needs his protection nor wants it (since it's ruining his life and causing him to neglect her brother).

!!Sam Adama (Sasha Roiz)

* AntiVillain: Is a hitman, but sees his job as being part of the protection of the Tauron immigrant community on Caprica.
* [[NeighborhoodFriendlyGangsters Friendly Neighborhood Gangster]]
* {{Gayngster}}
* ManlyGay: He's a mob hitman for the gods' sake!
* ParentalSubstitute: Towards William, ''particularly'' since Shannon and Tamara's deaths and Joseph's subsequent lapse into deep depression.
* SenseiForScoundrels: Again, towards William.

!! William Adama (Sina Najafi)

* ForegoneConclusion: He will live on to shake off his Ha'la'tha roots and become an AcePilot.
** ProphecyTwist/[[spoiler:AnyoneCanDie]]: [[spoiler:''This'' William Adama definitely won't]].
*** Less of an example if you noticed that [[spoiler:Willie is too old and has the wrong eye color to be Bill (the latter being especially obvious because Edward James Olmos specifically had to wear blue contacts in his role as Bill Adama, so the different eye color obviously was kind of a major character trait]].

!!Tamara Adama (Genevieve Buechner)

* ActionGirl: In the V-World.
* BrokenBird
* [[CuteGhostGirl Cute Virtual Girl]]
* DeathByOriginStory: The original, human Tamara.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: In spite of only featuring prominently in two episodes (though her father's {{Angst}} about her is a long-running theme), she is one of the most popular characters in the series, almost solely thanks to her part in "There Is Another Sky," where she scores one of the series' first [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome Crowning Moments of Awesome]].
* TookALevelInBadass
* VirtualGhost
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Is said to be present but offscreen in the second-last episode, and not mentioned in the last episode or its "five years later" epilogue, leaving her fate up in the air.

!!Ruth (Karen Austin)
* [[BadassGrandpa Badass Grandma]]: "Tauron children play jacks with the bones of Tauron children who lose at jacks."
* RetiredBadass: She used to be a Ha'la'tha assassin.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Graystones]]

!!Daniel Graystone (Eric Stoltz)

* CorruptCorporateExecutive: To some degree. He's much, ''much'' more human than your average CCE, however. At least until he lost his company whereupon he [[spoiler: [[DealWithTheDevil made a deal with the H'la'tha]]]] and JumpedOffTheSlipperySlope
* GenreBlind: Oh no, creating a sentient slave race of war robots isn't going to have any consequences up the line. Well, [[Series/BattlestarGalacticaReimagined okay, yes it does]], [[SarcasmMode just a few]]. [[spoiler:Psychologically torturing your already-estranged daughter who just happens to be inside the prototype of that race probably didn't help, either.]]
* HotScientist
* MadScientist: Crosses the MoralEventHorizon in his pursuit of beating Vergis in winning the Caprican military contract, performing twisted experiments on his daughter's virtual avatar even while insisting that she ''is'' his daughter and eventually creates a humanoid robot out of her.
* SupremeChef: How does Dan Graystone relax? He makes dinner.

!!Amanda Graystone (Paula Malcomson)

* FamilyVersusCareer: Somewhat unfairly, Zoe accuses her of being ''both'' a trophy wife ''and'' a distant parent because she has a career as a plastic surgeon.
* LesYay: With Clarice
* NiceGirl
* NoSympathy: Towards Zoey, initially.

!!Zoe Graystone (Alessandra Torresani)

* ActionGirl: In the V-World
* AntiVillain: Thinks she is going to lead a benign religious mass-conversion.
* BrattyTeenageDaughter: Lives in a mansion custom-designed to accommodate her claustrophobia, has just about anything she wants, her parents are busy but not hostile. Yet she behaves like an abused, neglected, child and acts out by joining a terrorist group. Zoe's sense of entitlement is especially stark when contrasted with Lacey, who apparently just lives with her alcoholic mother in a run down part of Caprica City.
* CameBackWrong: The avatar did not actually possess all of Zoe's memories. For example, she does not know what Zoe's plan for her was, or why Zoe didn't trust Clarice. This causes her to improvise dangerously.
* [[CuteGhostGirl Cute Virtual Girl]]
* DawsonCasting
* DeathByOriginStory: The original, human Zoe.
* IdiotBall: Somehow never saw anything suspicious about the fact that her boyfriend's private V-World room was designed as a ruined city where the only intact building was a temple to the "One True God".
* [[TomboyAndGirlyGirl Girlie Girl]]
* [[RebelliousPrincess Rebellious Rich Kid]]: A huge part of her motivation seems to be to prove her parents wrong about, well, ''everything''.
* RobotGirl: In both the U-87 and later her gynoid body.
* TeenGenius: Hands down the best computer programmer in the Colonies.
* TouchedByVorlons: It is strongly implied that Zoe's incredible intellect was cultivated by the Messenger that had been interacting with her since childhood.
* VirtualGhost: The real Zoe dies in the maglev bombing, leaving only her virtual avatar alive in V-World.
* TheWoobie: The real Zoe was killed by her fanatical boyfriend. Her avatar was subsequently captured and subjected to grotesque experiments by her father.

[[folder:Others]]

!!Lacy Rand (Magda Apanowicz)

* CatholicSchoolGirlsRule: Well, Athenian Academy girls.
* DawsonCasting: 25, playing 16.
* [[TomboyAndGirlyGirl Tomboy]]
* TookALevelInBadass: From ''Blowback'' onward, and increasing every episode thereafter.
* WrenchWench
* ZettaiRyouiki: Grade C both in her Athenian Academy uniform and her virtual avatar.

!!Sister Clarice Willow (Polly Walker)

* BigBad
* BiTheWay
* DepravedBisexual: To the point where even attempting the seduce a teenage girl (and getting her handsome young husband to help) is not beyond her.
* FunctionalAddict: Her opium-smoking doesn't usually affect her life otherwise, apart from one very unfortunate verbal slip.
* LesYay: With Amanda
* [[ManipulativeBastard Manipulative Bitch]]
* {{Polyamory}}
* SinisterMinister / BadHabits: Poses as a cleric of Athena, while actually being a senior cleric in a terrorist monotheist group.
* WellIntentionedExtremist

!!Philomon (Alex Arsenault)

* HollywoodNerd
* [[spoiler:KilledOffForReal]]

!!Tomas Vergis (John Pyper-Ferguson)

* [[spoiler:BetterToDieThanBeKilled]]
* TheChessmaster
* CorruptCorporateExecutive
* AFatherToHisMen
* [[spoiler:KilledOffForReal]]
* {{Revenge}}

!!Barnabas Greeley (JamesMarsters)

* BadBoss
* NeverFoundTheBody
* PsychoForHire
* TheStarscream: To Clarice.

!!Evelyn / Emanuelle (Teryl Rothery / Leah Gibson)

* ForegoneConclusion: [[spoiler:She will indeed be William Adama's mother, and Joseph Adama's wife.]]
* HiddenDepths: In order to help Joseph get over the death of his daughter, when his obsession with finding her avatar-copy in New Cap City was ruining his life, she disguised herself and entered the game to help him find Tamara. She found her first, and both agreed that it was for the best that Joseph not waste his life, after which Tamara killed his avatar to prevent him from going back. And this was all from someone presented (at first) to just be his secretary, albeit a loyal one.

!!Baxter Sarno (PattonOswalt)

* {{Expy}} / CompositeCharacter: Imagine Creator/JonStewart meets JayLeno, with shades of BillMaher.
* MrExposition
* RunningGag: Caprican college students get most of their news from him. He also jokes that his audience is stoned.
* ShowWithinAShow
