This motley crew is a list of characters from the ''VideoGame/AtelierSeries''' ''Arland'' trilogy who made their first appearance in ''VideoGame/AtelierRoronaTheAlchemistOfArland''. For characters who debuted in ''{{Characters/Atelier Totori| TheAdventurerOfArland}}'' or ''{{Characters/Atelier Meruru|TheApprenticeOfArland}}'' visit those pages. There is also a characters page for the much later released ''{{Characters/Atelier Lulua|TheScionOfArland}}'' that handles characters from that game as well as including tropes unique to the incarnations seen in ''Lulua.''

(Names in parentheses are Rorona's nicknames for the other characters.)

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/MaiKadowaki (JP), Creator/JulieMaddalena (EN)

->''"I can do this! Master, I will do my best to carry on your legacy!"''

The protagonist of the game. Rorona is a 14-year-old alchemist-in-training left to oversee the workshop by Astrid. She's cheerful and outgoing, but also quite clumsy, even by her own admission.
----
* AgeLift: The English localization changes her from 14 to 17, and retains the three-year age up into ''Atelier Totori'' as well... until they completely forget about it in ''Atelier Meruru'' and frequently refer to her age in the first game as 14. ''Atelier Lulua'' forgets as well and Rorona's age is presented as what it would be if she were 14 in the first game as well.
* ApologizesALot: Comes naturally with being the CuteClumsyGirl.
* BeleagueredAssistant: Technically to Astrid, except that she's more of Astrid's ''slave.''
* BerserkButton: She really won't appreciate it if she finds you picking on her beloved apprentice in front of her in ''Atelier Totori''. Even Cordelia and Sterk wouldn't hear the end of it if they so much as shout at Totori while in Rorona's presence.
* ButNowIMustGo: In the Normal Ending, as Rorona's relationship with the people wasn't high enough to get enough jobs for the workshop to turn a profit. Lionela or Tantris can join her.
* TheChewToy: And to quote Astrid, a pretty durable one.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Cordelia and Iksel.
* CuteClumsyGirl: It's part of her charm.
* DeadpanSnarker: Mostly only around Astrid, though this side of her also popped out once towards Gio in one of his endings.
* DudeMagnet: Mainly in the first game. Sterk, Iksel, and Tantris are all heavily implied to be in love with her. Tantris disappears after the first game, Iksel after the second, and while Sterk is still clearly close to Rorona, the romantic aspects largely drop off.
* EccentricMentor: Downplayed example, but thanks to her ditzy nature, she serves as one to Totori in the sequel. Doesn't really stop Totori from [[HeroWorship admiring her]] however.
* EveryoneHasStandards: As nice and ditzy as she is and no matter how much she respects her, even ''Rorona'' will be exasperated at someone like Astrid. Heck, she even snarks about her regardless of whether she's around to hear it or not! Notably, the child version of Rorona in ''Meruru'' is the only person that can actually make Astrid give up and leave because she's incapable of being cowed by her.
* FamedInStory: If you play your cards right in her game, she'll be this at the end of the story. This carries over in to the rest of the Arland series, where Rorona is a famous alchemist that is constantly busy with work.
* FountainOfYouth: Turns into her 9-year old self by accident in ''Atelier Meruru''. Since she lost most of her memories, she's not aware of the change and is thus even more happy-go-lucky and bold as a child. She also still seems to have some understanding of alchemy though she's not entirely aware of it.
* TheGadfly: It's implied that she purposely didn't tell Totori that Pamela was a ghost from the beginning when Totori asked her for advice on how to bypass the tower's requirement of needing a sacrifice to enter it as her way of lightly teasing Totori for the fun of it. Though Rorona being Rorona, it's possible that she simply forgot that she hasn't told her that one little detail and just assumed Totori knew from the start.
* GeniusDitz: Rorona may have some weird moments, but remember, ''she's'' the one keeping the workshop in one piece, not Astrid. It even gets lampshaded when she's called that she's "dumb but in a good way". In the sequel, Totori borderline reveres her for being a really skilled Alchemist.
* GenkiGirl: Pretty cheerful and optimistic, though even she has her limits. Cranked up to the max in her age-regressed form.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: In ''Atelier Totori'', she praises Piana's talent in alchemy at the detriment of unknowingly comparing Totori unfavorably to her, unaware of how much this hurts Totori given how much the latter wants her approval as her student.
* LegendaryInTheSequel: While she has yet to reach Astrid's level of skill and fame (or infamy), she does get to become really well known among the populace in ''Atelier Totori'' for her Alchemy Skills and her penchant for helping people. By ''Atelier Lulua'', Rorona is so well known she's frequently travelling the country to solve problems.
* LikeADaughterToMe: She treats her student Totori as if she were her own child.
* MamaBear: While she still acts as young and childish as ever even as an adult in the sequel, she develops a somewhat maternal instinct towards Totori and dotes on her like a mother would a daughter. She retains this aspect when she actually becomes a mother to Lulua.
* TheMentor: Totori's in the sequel, though it's established that some of this was Totori's natural talent as she is the only student who seems to be able to interpret Rorona's confusing lessons into useful information. [[spoiler: In one of the endings, Rorona thinks she's done so well with Totori that she tries to open her own alchemy school, only for the students to fail utterly with Rorona's instruction and instead seeking out the much younger Totori for advice.]]
* NeverGrewUp: After getting turned into a kid in ''Atelier Meruru'', this ''appears'' to be the case due to the potion's effects and the difficulty in creating a new one. However, the ''Rorona Plus'' Overtime missions as well as the two bonus movies in ''Atelier Meruru DX'' that bookend it reveal that she was still restored to her correct age at some point after the events of ''Meruru.'' That plus a clearly 30-plus Rorona appears in ''Atelier Lulua'' and is now raising a sixteen-year-old of her own.
* NiceGirl: Sweet and kind to a fault [[EveryoneHasStandards though even she has her limits]].
* TheNicknamer: Has a habit of brainstorm nicknames within moments of meeting someone.
* ObliviousToLove: Rorona's pretty dense, so even the smallest of hints of romantic advances towards her by any of the boys in her party fly high above her radar.
* OldMaid: Astrid's fear (and apparently the developer's fear) of Rorona's fate in her 30s. She messes up and accidentally regresses Rorona to a child instead.
* PieInTheFace: Her LimitBreak in Plus; in the attack's finishing variation, she drops several huge pies on the enemies.
* PluckyGirl: Her Workshop's current poor condition and her alchemy constantly literally blowing up in her face aren't enough to faze her so to speak and she just tries harder every time.
* ShapeshifterModeLock: [[spoiler: She never returns to her normal age in any of the endings of Atelier Meruru, even the ones that involve her growing back up, as she only returns to being 14 years old. The ''Plus'' version fixed this by adding a new ending where Rorona returns to her normal age, however.]]
* SheIsAllGrownUp: In ''Atelier Totori'', she has grown into a beautiful young woman. In ''Atelier Meruru'', however, [[FountainOfYouth not so much,]] [[spoiler: until she's changed back to her adult appearance by ''Meruru Plus'' that is]]. She's also physically in her mid-30s by ''Atelier Lulua'', but she's only grown even more beautiful by then.
* SignatureHeadgear: Rorona's feathered hat is her signature character element and carries over into every new outfit she gets with the progressing series.
* SupremeChef: She has a real talent for baking pies. One ending even has her become the best pie chef in Arland.
* TookALevelInBadass: While she inevitably becomes stronger in the game if you grind her hard enough, her skills in Alchemy improve vastly by the end of her game's story, and by the time of the sequels, she's become skilled enough to be a well-known name in and out of Arland, to the point where Totori greatly respects her regardless of her faults for her experience and expertise.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Pies: For her, it's SeriousBusiness.
* TwiceShy: [[spoiler: With Sterk]], assuming you aim for his flag of course.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Terrified of ghosts. For this reason, it takes a while for her to warm up to Pamela.
* WingdingEyes: In ''Meruru'', [[https://lparchive.org/Atelier-Arland-Trilogy/Update%2095/118-meruru_1561.jpg she has swirly eyes when at low health in battle]].
* YouRemindMeOfX: According to Astrid, Rorona reminds her of [[spoiler:her deceased mentor]].
* YoungerThanTheyLook: She's 14 in the original Japanese version.

!!Cordelia von Feuerbach (Cory)

%%[[caption-width-right:350:some caption text]]
[[caption-width-right:350:[[labelnote:Click here to see Cordelia in ''Atelier Totori'']]\\

-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/EriKitamura (JP), Creator/WendeeLee (EN)

->''"I wasn't expecting her to, anyway. I just stopped by to say hi."''

Rorona's closest friend. She comes from a rich family, but doesn't like it when others bring that fact up. Cory also doesn't like it when she's teased about her short stature. She is the first one to join Rorona on her adventures.
------
* AgeLift: Cory is 13 in the Japanese version of ''Atelier Rorona'', but aged up to 16 in the English version. This gap was kept for ''Totori'', after which point Cory stopped appearing so it becomes irrelevant that the later games dropped the age alterations.
* BecomingTheMask: In her ending when [[spoiler:she becomes the workshop's manager and Rorona declares she isn't much different from Astrid]].
* BerserkButton:
** Don't ever mention her [[HeightAngst short height]] to her face. ''Ever''. Also, don't make Rorona cry. Astrid exploits the former by deliberately making Hom's height two inches taller than her and making fun of her for it, even letting Hom in on the fun. [[UnstoppableRage Cordelia was not amused]].
** In the sequel, she has a new one in the form of [[spoiler: Gisela Helmold who screws things up for her in her new job.]]
* ButtMonkey: Whenever [[{{Troll}} Astrid]] is concerned.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Rorona and possibly Iksel.
* DownloadableContent: Cordelia was originally sold as bonus DLC in ''Atelier Totori'' and included in the base game for the ''Plus'' and ''DX'' versions.
* DubNameChange: Her name in the JP version was originally romanized as Kudelia, while Rorona's nickname for her was Kuu-chan instead.
* GoodOldFisticuffs: Her normal attack, sort of. More like wild arm flailing.
* TheGunslinger: For some special attacks. [[spoiler:And finally becomes one for real in ''VideoGame/{{Atelier Totori|The Adventurer of Arland}}'']].
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Sure she's brash most of the time, but she's actually one of the nicest and most considerate characters in the game if you go past that tsun demeanor of hers.
* HairTriggerTemper: It doesn't take too much to rile her up in a fiery burst. Mention her height for one thing and she's sure to lash out at you immediately.
* HeightAngst: Hates her short height and even once asked Rorona if she could make her a potion that would help her grow taller. Rorona's only response was to feel sorry for her for it, annoying Cordelia and embarrassing her into leaving.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She may have a short fuse and may be prone to yelling at Rorona nearly all the time, but it's made very clear that she cares deeply for her, [[{{Tsundere}} even if she doesn't fully admit it]]. She even extends this kindness to Totori after she learns, in her first meeting with her, that she's Rorona's personal pupil, giving her her adventurer's license with some benefits without much of a fuss.
* LittleMissSnarker: When you've got a ditzy best friend and a cast full of weirdoes surrounding her, you'd definitely become this.
* TheNapoleon: Cordelia's short stature is a frequent trigger for her. Astrid in particular needles her about it, deliberately creating her first Hom to be ''exactly'' one centimeter taller than Cordelia.
* {{Ojou}}: It's not mentioned often though. When it's brought up in the sequel, it's revealed that she thinks little about her title and even considers it worthless, in contrast to Mimi who believes aristocratic family names are important. Despite this, her first special skill involves summoning her servants to fight for her.
* OlderThanTheyLook: While some of this is down to the English version inexplicably raising her age by three years (her height is appropriate for a 13 year old, but not a 16 year old), she's still in her early 20s by the time of Totori and still hasn't had a growth spurt, making her look like she's ''still'' a 13-year-old.
* PrecociousCrush: On Gio. Less so in the localized version, due to her increase in age making it come off as somewhat creepy.
* PutOnABus: Only gets mentioned a few times in ''Atelier Meruru'', but otherwise, doesn't appear at all. She's also absent in ''Atelier Lulua'' though it's mentioned that she'd become Chancellor of the Arland Republic by then, hence her absence.
* SheIsAllGrownUp: Subverted. Unlike Rorona and Iksel, despite being much older, she hasn't grown at all. In fact, 13-year old Totori is taller than her!
* QuestGiver: Her role in ''VideoGame/{{Atelier Totori|The Adventurer of Arland}}''
* TinyTyrannicalGirl: She's pretty bossy for someone with such a short stature. Even more pronounced in the sequel where she's Filly's boss and the one who hands out the missions to you. It's a pretty bad idea to make her lose her temper in work, as both Filly and Totori learn the hard way.
* {{Tsundere}}: Truly cares for Rorona's well-being but would rather die than admit it.
* UnclePennybags: She gives Rorona an easy job to gather a pebble - with a big payout. Not that she'll admit that to Rorona! She's not doing it just to give her a hand!

-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/ShinnosukeTachibana (JP), Creator/JohnnyYongBosch (EN)

->''"I've always wanted to go outside of town. I want to find my own ingredients."''

A chef who works at the Sunrise Cafe. He's usually a courteous young lad, but he becomes HotBlooded whenever cooking is involved. After Rorona goes out on her first adventure with Cordelia, Iksel decides to help Rorona out with her assignments, as well.
-------
* ChefOfIron: Iksel is determined to get the best ingredients that he happily joins Rorona (and later Totori) in gathering missions, fighting monsters with his frying pan.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Rorona and possibly Cordelia.
* CombatMedic: He can cook up meals to recover HP during battle.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: He dislikes mushrooms.
* DontYouDarePityMe: If he loses the Cabbage Festival to you.
* DownloadableContent: Iksel was originally sold as bonus DLC in ''Atelier Totori'' and included in the base game for the ''Plus'' and ''DX'' versions.
* FieryRedhead: Iksel has a very hot-blooded, competitive personality to match his flaming red hair.
* FireBreathingDiner: In Plus, if his LimitBreak is used to end a fight, he will eat a super-spicy piece of meat and destroy the enemy with a giant fireball.
* FryingPanOfDoom: His weapon of choice.
* HotBlooded: It even says in his official game profile.
* TheNotLoveInterest: To Rorona. He's her ChildhoodFriend, the first male party member, and a year older than her, something he has in common with the [[ImpliedLoveInterest implied love interests]] in the two games that follow. However, despite being hinted at having feelings for Rorona in a few of his events and ending, Sterk is ultimately the preferred LoveInterest; and any signs of his having feelings for Rorona are more or less gone in Atelier Totori.
* PutOnABus: Only makes a brief cameo in Atelier Meruru.
* SeriousBusiness: Cooking contests. Though he does try to skew things to his favor when against Totori in the sequel.
* ShipTease: Has some with [[spoiler: Rorona]] in his endings and some of his events. It gets lampshaded by Hom in one of the endings, where he/she comments that they act like a married couple. This thread drops in the rest of the Arland series.
* SupremeChef: As expected, given his profession.

->''"You're a resident of this town. It's a knight's duty to protect the residents."''

A knight who works at the palace, and is responsible for giving Rorona her assignments. He tries to act serious most of the time because he believes it's how a knight should behave. Sterk joins Rorona after she successfully completes her first assignment.
--------
* BadassCape: He wears one for ''Atelier Rorona'' and had another in his first concept art for ''Atelier Meruru'' though his design was instead changed to a...
* BadassLongcoat: In ''Atelier Totori'' and ''Atelier Meruru'', where he wears a black ragged one in ''Totori'' and a uniform white one in ''Meruru'', showing his current job status.
* {{BFS}}: It's still pretty realistic compared to other examples, though.
* TheCameo: A sign of Gust being owned by Koei Tecmo, Sterk appears as a playable character in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate.
* DarkerAndEdgier: ''Substantially'' more so in appearance in ''Atelier Totori'', though once the player gets to know him his personality is largely the same. Unused concept art for ''Meruru'' showed an even more advanced version of this before they switched to him wearing a uniform coat to match Esty's.
* DoNotCallMePaul: He tends to dislike it when people call him by his name... especially Astrid.
* FaceOfAThug: Much to his chagrin, his face and demeanor, ''[[DarkerAndEdgier especially]]'' in ''Atelier Totori'' frighten people away from him. He even made three children cry just by looking at them! By ''Atelier Meruru'' he simply accepts this reaction is always going to happen.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: In his special attack in ''Atelier Meruru''. No, really.
* ImpliedLoveInterest: He's often played up like this for Rorona in the first Arland game. In ''Totori'' Hagel suddenly rants to Totori about how expected them to hook up after the dragon incident. They never actually hook up, likely due to circumstances (''especially'' in Meruru, where Rorona is age-regressed to an 8-year-old), and also their actual age gap.
* KnightInShiningArmor: Sterk has carried a dream from childhood of being one of these, hence his motivation to join the knighthood in Arland. However, in these peaceful times, there's little for knights to do, though he does ''eventually'' get his chance in one of ''Rorona'''s character events. He's so happy to have gotten to live his dream that he's not even concerned he's in the hospital for his injuries afterward.
** When the knighthood is abolished between ''Rorona'' and ''Totori'', Sterk struggles to survive having it taken away from him. He becomes a mercenary during ''Totori'' so he can continue to protect people. He eventually becomes one of Meruru's escorts in ''Meruru'', which drags up a lot of his dreams again since Meruru is ''actually'' a princess and starts causing havoc when he overdoes the role. By the time of ''Lulua'', Sterk has basically built his own version of a knighthood with the Citizens Guard and still calls himself the Knight Supreme.
* OlderThanTheyLook: He's only a year younger than Esty and Astrid. That said, he doesn't look much older than Iksel or Tantris. While he is drawn older with each game, he's supposed to be 39 in ''Meruru'' and 46 in ''Lulua'' despite not appearing anywhere close to either age. Squint and you can see a line around his eyes in his ''Lulua'' design. His hair is also lighter, but it's hard to work out if its actually greying hair or just the change in artists.
* PerpetualFrowner: Spend most of the game wearing this expression, which understandably tends to scare Rorona. [[http://storage.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/at29.jpg The remake depicts this perfectly.]] It's intense enough that in ''Meruru'' Totori convinces him to take a "Make You Smile" potion... but his uncomfortable smile is actually considered ''more'' scary than his default expression.
* ShipTease: Out of all the guys in games, he gets the most with Rorona.
* SinkOrSwimMentor: For Gino in ''Atelier Totori'' once he agrees to be his Master. [[NoKillLikeOverkill He goes as far as]] to perform his LimitBreak on the poor kid when he realizes that Gino's improving in one of their training sessions.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: He comes across as quite cold (something, Esty berates him about), but is a decent guy, who is genuinely concerned about the future of workshop (and Rorona).
* TookALevelInBadass: Seems to get progressively more badass in every installment. Taken up a notch with his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRdbqOusm78 finisher.]] Also, according to an event in the third game, he's shown to have become badass enough to [[spoiler: nearly become Gio's equal (if Gio's comments after the fight are anything to go by).]]
* TwiceShy: With Rorona, assuming you aim for his flag of course.
* {{UST}}: The romantic plot thread with him and Rorona is ''still'' largely unresolved even by the time period of ''Lulua'', at which point the pair have known each other for around ''twenty years''. By the era of ''Meruru'', he and Astrid's failed relationship also seems to be far enough in their past that it never gets brought up again by either character either.
* WhatTheHellHero: Gives one to Astrid for making Rorona do all of the work on the assignments the king had intended for ''her''.
* WhenHeSmiles: Totori comments that he has a nice smile after she meets him a second time, though she does ''not'' seem to feel this way by the time of ''Meruru''... but this is likely because the attempt at making him smile was using a potion and it's obvious the potion's effects are quite painful.

-------

* IaijutsuPractitioner: Gio's fighting style with his SwordCane has him draw his blade from its cane sheath, slash the enemy, then immediately put it away, sometimes multiple times consecutively.
* OldMaster: Gio is consistently portrayed as ''the'' biggest badass in all of Arland, despite his age. By the time of ''Atelier Meruru'', he is in his sixties and still kicking the most ass out of the entire cast. Even Sterk, who's strong enough to ''[[DetonationMoon cleave the moon in half]]'', can't hold a candle to Gio in a duel.
* PaperThinDisguise: "Masked G" in both ''Atelier Rorona'' and ''Atelier Meruru'', who ''only'' changes his appearance by putting on a mask and otherwise wears the same clothes. Somehow, everyone is fooled including people who should really know better.
* SuperSpeed: Gio is amazingly fast. Many of his attacks show him performing a FlashStep, and he can even create SpeedEchoes, striking so fast that it looks like the enemy is being attacked by multiple clones of him.
* SwordCane: His weapon of choice is a blade hidden in his cane. This is a fitting weapon for an OldMaster like him, as it can be concealed as an inconspicuous walking aid out of combat. He uses it in the style of an IaijutsuPractitioner, quickly drawing and sheathing his blade with every slash.

-> '''Voiced by:''' Creator/AtsukoTanaka (JP), Creator/MichelleRuff (EN)

->''"Of course. I'm sure I can do anything if I put my mind to it."''

Rorona's alchemy master. She is quite capable of doing almost anything, but doesn't because she finds most work boring.
-------
* BrilliantButLazy: She refuses to do just about anything unless it involves Rorona, even if it's against her pupil's will.
* ButNowIMustGo: [[spoiler:She comes back in her ending, though, complete with declaring herself as Rorona's rival!]]
* DrowningMySorrows: Near the end of the game, she starts to drink a lot.
* EccentricMentor: Rorona's, much to her exasperation.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Gigantic troll she may be, but even Astrid has the decency not to break happy marriages over a simple misunderstanding she may have unintentionally caused. When Rorona's parents assumed the other had cheated on them because Hom said that s/he was Rorona's younger sibling and started fighting with each other, Astrid's immediate reaction was to clear up the misunderstanding...right after she's done watching them play tug-of-war with Rorona over who gets custody of her.
* HeavySleeper: Well, since she spends most of her time napping...
* HiddenDepths: She goes to some lengths to help Rorona without her finding out, at least in the first game.
* MoochingMaster: Oh, is she ever. She will not lift a finger if she can get Rorona to do something instead. And if she can bust her chops while she does it, all the better. She's basically an internet troll turned into a game character.
* MundaneUtility: She can bend the laws of physics via alchemy to make... a bathing suit for a ghost. Lampshaded by Rorona, of course.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: [[SarcasmMode Congrats Astrid for turning Rorona into a little girl in ''Atelier Meruru!'']]
* OldMaid: Something she is extremely aware of and was a motivation for her developing the Potion of Youth, which she uses to turn her age back so she still appears about the same age in ''Meruru'' as she does in ''Rorona.''
* PromotedToPlayable: The ''Plus'' and ''DX'' versions make her recruitable for an extremely high sum, though she's also a very powerful character with a lot of use in the endgame content. The Japanese-only 3DS remake, also called ''Atelier Rorona Plus'', includes an additional ''Atelier Astrid'' side-story set with Astrid as the playable protagonist.
* RevengeBeforeReason: [[spoiler:She effectively shunned the townsfolk and ruined the reputation of the workshop due to how poorly the people of Arland treated her master]].
* SinkOrSwimMentor: She admits this straight to Cordelia that forcing Rorona to have to save the workshop is the best way to force her to get better.
* {{Troll}}: Astrid is ''constantly'' pulling pranks, making lewd and inappropriate comments, stealing people's food and valuables, and tormenting everyone around her for her own amusement.
* TricksterMentor: Astrid is frequently lusting over Rorona and in ''Meruru'' she regularly breaks into Meruru's workshop to take her belongings and taunt her. Eventually both girls realize Astrid is actually teaching them something, in her own crazy ways.
* WouldntHurtAChild: The only person capable of stopping Astrid in her tracks? The child Rorona, who constantly makes demands of her and ignores Astrid's requests. Astrid admits she can't bring herself to punish a cute child, often causing her to flee when forced to talk to child!Rorona.
* YinYangBomb: The finishing variation of her LimitBreak in Plus: She traps the enemy in an orb of pure darkness, which is then infused with light, tearing it (and the target) apart.

* BigSisterBully: Forced her shy and insecure sister Filly into taking her place as a receptionist under ''[[HairTriggerTemper Cordelia]]'' of all people so she could go out and try to find a date of her own in ''Atelier Totori''.
* CoolBigSis: To Rorona and Sterk. Towards her real sister, not so much.
* CoolOldLady: Officially qualifies as this in the third game at the age of 40. Just don't say it to her face.
* CrissCrossAttack: Her skills all involve multiple quick slashes from varied angles with her two blades.
* DrunkPersonalityChange: While nowhere near as bad as Tiffani, Esty becomes ''extremely'' handsy with Meruru and Filly after getting drunk.
* DualWielding: Wields two swords.
* DubNameChange: Her name was originally Esty Erhard in the Japanese port of the game.
* FlechetteStorm: At the end of her Lovely Shadow skill cinematics, she throws dozens of knives at the enemy.

* PromotedToPlayable: In New Atelier Rorona
* QuestGiver: In the first game, she's the one who gives requests.
* ShipperOnDeck: For Sterk/Rorona.
* TheTease: She loves pushing Rorona's buttons.
