* Ren from ''WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow''.
** George Liquor, The Fire Chief and Haggis [=McHaggis=] as well.
* Disney's classic ''Mickey and the Beanstalk'' features WesternAnimation/DonaldDuck near the start, almost delusional from hunger. It's one of his most dynamic moments; some find it hilarious, others quite a bit creepy. See it [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGnz4RykgF8 here]].
* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'', being a BlackComedy, is a series full of Ax Crazies.
** Eric Cartman. He [[spoiler:kills Scott Tenorman's parents and feeds them to him in the form of chili. Why? [[DisproportionateRetribution Because Scott scammed him out of $16.]]]] On his page on the official [[http://southpark.wikia.com/wiki/Eric_Cartman#Mental_Health South Park wiki]], it has a detailed paragraph on his mental health. Apparently, Eric Cartman shows signs of sadism, Schizophrenia, identity issues, gender confusion, psychosis, psychopathic nature, narcissism, and [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment possibly even insanity]].
** In addition to Cartman, there is a good cast of antagonists which undoubtedly belong to this trope: Saddam Hussein, the Earth Day Brainwashing Society, the Woodland Critters and MickeyMouse. But '''Mel Gibson''' (in the canon of the series of course) is the best one.
** Sheila Broflovski, who was already crazy to begin with, was upgraded to this in ''WesternAnimation/SouthParkBiggerLongerAndUncut''
** Randy Marsh, especially in "T.M.I." and "A Nightmare on Facetime".
** "Hell On Earth 2006" shows the "antics" of Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy and Jeffery Dahmer, RealLife [[SerialKiller serial killers]]. Said "antics," are called so because they become a parody of sorts of Film/TheThreeStooges after their initial introduction.
** The obviously insane Hat [=McCullough=] from "Free Hat", though his defenders claim he killed those twenty-three babies in self-defense.
* The Crazy Farmer / Janitor from ''BeavisAndButthead''. Mainly in the episode "Cow Tipping" where he goes ''chainsaw'' crazy.
* Itchy from ''WesternAnimation/TheItchyAndScratchyShow''. Itchy is a mixture of Ax Crazy and sociopath, sadistically killing Scratchy in various painful ways, and with different instruments: chainsaws, axes, guns, etc.. And the worst is that it only does it for fun.
* Katz from ''WesternAnimation/CourageTheCowardlyDog'' is a genuine psychopath completely insane when kills people.
** Freaky Fred as well. The fact the only thing he'll murder is your hair does not help as much as it should.
* Cat from ''WesternAnimation/CatDog'', in the episode "Monster Truck Folly". Although it could also count as a CrazyAwesome.
* In ''WesternAnimation/DrawnTogether'' , the mall policeman in the episode "The Lemon-AIDS Walk". At first it seems very relaxed, but suddenly shows its extremely violent when he threatens to kill a civilian woman pointing a gun if Wooldoor refused to throw some candy. When Wooldoor is captured, the policeman killed the women anyway just for the pleasure.
** Also Captain Hero to some extent.
* ''WesternAnimation/RockosModernLife'': Rocko and Heffer are on a bus tour of Paris with a bus driver who is determined to keep his passengers on the bus ''at all costs'', so much so that he chases them around the city after they escape.
* Wendell from ''WesternAnimation/FriskyDingo'' is very definitely this. He randomly kills people for no conceivable reason, offers to abort a baby with a machete, then when said baby is born and revealed as a gigantic ant larvae monster, he rides it to the location of a doomsday device to destroy the earth... just BECAUSE.
** With his pants off no less, commenting throughout on how wrong it is but how he's going to continue to do it.
* Flippy from ''WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends'', if reminded of the W.A.R. (and nearly ''everything'' reminds him of it). Over the course of the series, he has brutally murdered numerous innocent characters in a variety of ways that are [[CruelAndUnusualDeath as creative as they are gruesome]].
* Stewie from ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy''. Particularly when Brian owes him money, or when he is [[NotGoodWithRejection rejected]].
** Peter has shown multiple signs of being this in the later episodes.
** Meg too, out of a desperation for love and affection, which is semi-justified and understandable since she seldom receives love and affection.
** Lois, when they ran out of paper towels on Christmas.
** We also have to Stewie's evil clone. He is much more mentally unstable and sadistic than the original, making a lot of atrocities ForTheEvulz.
** And we also have Jeff Fecalman, the abusive boyfriend of the Quagmire's sister, who beats her for the smallest things, also willing to kill in cold blood.
** "A Fistful of Meg" gives us "Mental" Mike Palanski, who is shown to be a screaming lunacy who is capable of murdering even the school's resident tough guys. He's practically Jeff 2.0!
* [[Comicbook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesMirage The Mirage Turtles]] in {{the|Movie}} WesternAnimation/{{Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles|2003}} [[TheMovie TV movie]] ''WesternAnimation/TurtlesForever''.
* Groundskeeper Willy from ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' is just one {{hair trigger|Temper}} away from becoming this trope.
** Sideshow Bob started to qualify for this when his attempts to kill Bart included trying to have him ''cremated alive'' and when he visibly ''removed his cell mate's face and cut off his own''.
** There was also a one-shot (well, technically, ''two''-shot) character employed at the power plant in "Marge Gets A Job." This guy was shown polishing a shotgun and talking to himself:
-->'''Crazy Dude:''' I am [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast the Angel of Death]]. [[TheEndIsNear The time of purification is at hand]].
** Homer himself went on a murderous rampage in a Treehouse of Horror episode when the cable wasn't working and when they ran out of beer in a WholePlotReference to ''Film/TheShining''.
--->'''Homer:''' Well, what do you think, Marge? All I need is a title. I was thinking along the lines of "No TV and no beer make Homer go... something, something."
--->'''Marge:''' Go crazy?
--->'''Homer:''' '''DON'T MIND IF I DO!!!!''' ''(and proceeds to, well, go crazy)''
* The eponymous character of ''WesternAnimation/InvaderZim'': Ax Crazy, PsychoForHire, and MadScientist, all rolled into one. Which ''would'' make him a {{Magnificent|Bastard}} {{Badass}}, if he wasn't also [[MikeNelsonDestroyerOfWorlds hyper-incompetent]], [[LordErrorProne incredibly narcissistic]], and a frequent ButtMonkey, as well.
** Gaz also counts given she once happily used a device that could destroy the world and was DISSAPOINTED when it failed to work. And then there's what she did to Iggins...poor Iggins. He really should have listened to Gaz's warnings.
* WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck's foe [[EvilTwin Negaduck]] is about as close to [[BadButt a kid-safe]] Ax Crazy as you can get, especially considering it's a Disney show. Negaduck's favored weapon, for example, was a chainsaw, and he takes great delight in attempting to blast cute fuzzy bunnies with a shotgun. This may or may not be a case of being a product of his environment.
** Negaverse Launchpad? Happy with firing a bazooka at cute little girls. The Muddlefoot family? Tank's OK as a NonEvilTwin, but Herb, Binky, and Honker were shown with a row of severed duck heads on a pole in their yard. With their beaks sewn shut. Fun for the whole family, that Disney!
* Disney [[UpToEleven one-upped itself]] in ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'', with Demona. During the City of Stone arc, she manages to turn all the humans in NewYorkCity [[TakenForGranite to stone]], and then is seen roaming the streets, casually destroying humans-turned-to-stone with a huge mace. This one didn't so much bypass the radar as tore the radar a new a-hole. And since it's Disney, ''nobody called them on it''.
** From the same series, [[QuirkyMinibossSquad Jackal and Hyena]]. At least Demona has ''[[FreudianExcuse/WesternAnimation reasons]]'' for being as whacked as she is-- these two just seem to kill people/hurt people/blow stuff up [[ForTheEvulz for the thrill of it]] ([[PsychoForHire and the paycheck too-- but mostly the thrill]]).
* Around the end of ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' [[spoiler:Azula definitely qualifies, having absolutely lost it after Mai and Ty Lee betrayed her. She has an absolute [[VillainousBreakdown breakdown]] before her final battle with Zuko and Katara]]
* Eva and Izzy from ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaIsland''. Izzy does appear as a lovable goofball but she shows signs of this.
* ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' has Danny's [[PsychoForHire evil]] [[BadFuture future]] [[FutureMeScaresMe self]] as this. The first thing he did upon "reawakening"? Steal the ghostly half of BigBad Vlad Masters (OurGhostsAreDifferent is in full force here) and then kill his human half in front of Vlad, who viewed Danny as a surrogate son. In his first scenes, he kills at least a dozen people as well and spends much of the episode killing or planning to kill some more. The fact that even Vlad refuses to tell Danny how his human half died speaks ''volumes''.
* Rampage of ''WesternAnimation/BeastWars'' flips between this and the BloodKnight. Originally, he attempted to kill anything in sight, no matter whether they were Maximals or Predacons. In fact the only reason he joined the Predacons after his first appearance was because Megatron held his life in his hands by removing his spark and keeping it for torture/incentive for Rampage to serve him, otherwise he'd probably try to kill them all. The fact he's one of the most heavily armed Transformers in the series doesn't help. He even mentions being a cannibal!
** Then there's Inferno, Megatron's PyroManiac [[TheDragon Dragon]]. To wit:
--> ''"[[ChewingTheScenery Burn in the fires of Inferno]]!!!"''
** In the sequel, ''WesternAnimation/BeastMachines'', we were introduced to Jetstorm, a LaughablyEvil LargeHam, who was utterly and completely nuts. He never stopped laughing, tossed off cheerful one-liners while trying to massacre his enemies, and when asked to HeelFaceTurn, attempted to dismember the person who made the offer. This is what happens when you take a KnightInShiningArmor like [[spoiler:Silverbolt]] and leave him BrainwashedAndCrazy.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'' features Roberto, the dangerously insane, psychopathic robot whose literal function is to stab others (there's a reason he resembles a tombstone). His many insane acts includes robbing the same bank three times in a row, killing other robots to provide a disguise for himself, and "practicin' my stabbin"!
-->'''Roberto:''' I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 10. Guess it, and you die first.\\
'''Bender:''' Uh....56?\\
'''Roberto:''' 56?? 56?! Now that's all I can think about! I'LL KILL YOU!
** Then there's Robot Santa.
** Zoidberg's race go Ax Crazy during their mating season.
* From ''WesternAnimation/TheVentureBrothers'', Tim-Tom and Kevin, Dr. Girlfriend/Mrs Monarch's aptly named Murderous Moppets, who [[KnifeNut like knives]] a little too much.
** Also Brock Samson in his worst moments.
* Rico from ''WesternAnimation/ThePenguinsOfMadagascar''. Lampshaded by Skipper.
* Vicky on ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents''.
** Wanda. Specially when she is mad, demonstrates the sanity that she has, or rather, lacking. Not to mention it also demonstrates extremely [[{{Sadist}} sadistic tendencies]]. Specially in the episode "A Bad Case Of Diary-Uh!".
** Also, [[{{Yandere}} Princess Mandie]].
** And Trixie in the episode "Just The Two Of Us".
** [[GeorgeWashington MUST CHOP WOOD!]]
** Crocker as well, mainly in TheMovie ''AbraCatastrophe''.
* Heloise on ''WesternAnimation/JimmyTwoShoes'' is a malicious EnfantTerrible who loves spreading misery as much as her boss. The only person she doesn't want to hurt is [[MoralityPet Jimmy]], and he's not completely safe from her wrath. Also, [[CrazyAwesome Saffi]] gets this way around statues.
* ComicStrip/TheBoondocks. [[CreepyChild Lamilton]][[EnfantTerrible Taeshawn]]. His extreme sociopathy actually scares Riley, which should say a lot.
* A good portion of ''WesternAnimation/{{Superjail}}'''s cast. ''Especially'' [[KillerRobot Jailbot]].
* The Monkey King from ''WesternAnimation/JackieChanAdventures''. At first, he seems like a CrazyAwesome prankster, but before long he's going after Jackie and Jade with an actual axe.
* [[BigBad Galvatron]] from Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 was so violently nuts, ''the AlwaysChaoticEvil Decepticons actually took him into therapy''. Naturally, he blew up the [[PlanetOfHats therapy planet]].
--> '''Therapist''': Just say whatever comes to mind.
--> '''Galvatron''': [[CrushKillDestroy Kill! Smash! Destroy!]]
--> '''Therapist''': Continue.
--> '''Galvatron''': Rend! Mangle! ''[[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Distort]]''!
* From ''WesternAnimation/TheAmazingWorldOfGumball'' comes Banana Joe, a character who redefines the meaning of the term Ax Crazy. In "The Kiss", he plays it straight, chopping down a tree FILLED WITH HIS CLASSMATES with an axe. All to prevent a kiss [[spoiler: which he fails to do. Sort of]].
* Curly from ''WesternAnimation/HeyArnold'' is hinted to being this at times.
* The [[EraSpecificPersonality early version]] of DaffyDuck was usually a fairly [[CloudCuckoolander harmless nutcase]], but in "The Daffy Doc" he loses his job as a doctor's assistant and proceeds to knock PorkyPig out, smuggle him into the hospital, and attempt "surgery" on him ''with a saw'' to prove how capable he is.
--> "[[MadnessMantra Where's a patient? Where's a patient? I gotta find a patient. I gotta find a patient]]."
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Thundercats 2011}}'' has Kaynar, a {{giggling|Villain}} PsychoForHire recruited as one of BigBad Mumm-Ra's new [[FourStarBadass generals]]... when they bust him out of ''prison.'' His EstablishingCharacterMoment sees him strapped to a gurney and heavily restrained just to be moved to solitary confinement, which he earned after killing [[SerialKiller eleven inmates]]. He's pretty sanguine about his punishment:
--> '''Kaynar:''' At least I'll have the voices in my head to talk to.
* Replicon, the most sadistic, trigger happy villain in ''WesternAnimation/SkysurferStrikeForce''.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants''
** Mr. Krabs is often a step away from this because of his extreme obsession with the money. Watch the episode "Clams".
** Patrick, in "Valentine's Day".
** Dennis from TheMovie.
** The Tattletale Strangler as well.
** Mrs. Puff turned into this when she tried to ''murder'' Spongebob!!
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Daria}}'', Ms. Angela Li is this in "Fizz Ed".
* Barry Robinson from ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDad'', when is not medicated.
** Roger Smith, in his worst moments, shows traits of this.
** Also, the Principal Lewis.
** Stevearino.
* ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'' has several of these, with Magic Man, Me-Mow and Ricardio being the most prominent examples of very deranged psychos.
** Ice King and Tart Toter are really a subversion. They are obviously unstable characters, but rarely are extremely violent, especially Tart Toter, who is not particularly a villain example.
** Flame Princess. Whether you think she is good or evil, it's clear she enjoys burning things a little too much, made abundantly clear after going on a rampage in "Vault of Bones".
** Lemongrab is a very interesting case. In his first appearances, he was just a guy with true autism, social awkwardness, and a dominant impulse. However, in his last two appearances, he has become definitely in a full-blown AxCrazy: almost mercilessly kills his clone, reason? ''just for break a toy'', and in "Too Old", he ends up eating him and abusing his own people for the smallest things. What is scarier than a AxCrazy like him? [[TheCaligula an Ax Crazy in power, becoming in a truly insane tyrannical dictator.]]
** Princess Bubblegum. She can be pretty scary and warlike.
* Berry from ''FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends''. [[CuteAndPsycho Her appearance is not what she really is.]]
** Mac's personality goes from a very NiceGuy to completely lunatic if he gets even the smallest amount of sugar.
* Mojo Jojo from ''ThePowerpuffGirls''. Often shows various features of mental instability, especially when he's pissed.
* ''{{Archer}}'' gives us Cheryl (who sometimes answers to "Carol", "Carina", "Cristal", and possibly a host of other names). She's a compulsive pyromaniac, gets off on suffering physical and emotional violence, once spent 6 months believing that she was a werewolf, and is more often than not stoned out of her skull on either rubber cement or LSD-laced Gummi Bears (or both.) Luckily for everyone else at the company, she seems to get off more on her own pain than anyone else's. There's also Barry, who appears to have two personalities and has murdered several people, including the entire staff of a space station.
* Benson from ''WesternAnimation/RegularShow'' became this at times. His HairTriggerTemper is so extreme that he reaches many times a psychotic behavior.
