* ''Series/{{Scrubs}}'' may suffer from MusicVideoSyndrome, but you know what? Its music selection is ''nice.'' Just look how The Coral's "Dreaming of You" is used when J.D. and Elliot hook up or how just how effectively The Fray's "How to Save A Life" was used during Dr. Cox's breakdown. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbEkKa-W55s Look.]] It's a damn TearJerker.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DinEKqtCDkg John Cale's cover of "Hallelujah"]] is the perfect song to end [[Recap/ScrubsS1E4MyOldLady "My Old Lady"]].
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lL4L4Uv5rf0 Guy Love]]. Really, all of that MusicalEpisode. TheBlanks (Worthless Peons) also did a great cover of "Guy Love," though they did [[MakesSenseInContext change some words that didn't work out of of context]].
* Turk doing an air band of "More Than a Feeling" with the Janitor and his friends? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=batiN0YNfos Awesomely priceless.]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJv2cE5enns "I Wanna Know"]] by The Mavericks, when Neena Broderick kisses JD. (Dr. Cox "gavomiting" in the background spoils the effect, but only a little.)
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUHgKBw994A Light and Day]] by Music/ThePolyphonicSpree is made only more awesome by the world's best rugby tackle.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE_RB0UgJTo "Be Yourself" by Audioslave]] was seriously awesome.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaiAwrD-cP4 "Winter" by Joshua Radin]] always does it. Okay, the scene is a huge TearJerker, but the music makes it even more.
* ''Scrubs'' keeps its streak of awesome [[TearJerker tearjerking]] music right to the end with [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nZGv8VTBVE "Book of Love"]]. Admit it, you cried.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcsrnT7Tv1o "Waiting for my Real Life to Begin"]]. One of Scrubs' biggest {{Tear Jerker}}s. Also written by Creator/ColinHay.
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tA2FmwF78QU "Give a Little Respect"]].
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsCzoXP6ewU "I can't do this all on my own, no I know..."]]
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjETcbEDmoQ "Overkill"]] from the episode Creator/ColinHay guest starred in.
* Try [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mcp3U9ci8c "I Will Follow You Into the Dark"]] from the second episode of the eighth season. TearJerker indeed. Also an example of ShownTheirWork because it's actually one of the only mainstream uses that gets the point of the song right.
* "Alive With The Glory Of Love" by Say Anything for the Season 6 finale.
* The Worthless Peons (Ted's acapella band) provided two undeniably awesome moments. The first was singing the theme to ''Underdog'' at the end of 1-23, "My Hero". The other was singing "Over the Rainbow" at the end of 5-07, the ''Wizard of Oz'' tribute "My Way Home". They also did a nice cover of "[[Music/TheBeatles Eight Days a Week]]" at Turk and Carla's wedding.
%%* "My Cold Shower" using "Stolen" by Music/DashboardConfessional.
* Ted's Band's version of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8K0EAc3abq8 Hey Ya!]]. Better than the original? [[LyricalDissonance As long as one forgets the fact that the lyrics are about divorce and it is playing during The Janitor's wedding.]]
* That episode when [[spoiler:Laverne is in a coma, and Carla comes into her room as the last person to say her goodbyes]] to the sound of Music/{{Keane}} singing [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4LSzhIgDfI A Bad Dream]]. This was an enormous TearJerker.
* Citizen Cope's "Sideways" is a good song on its own, but it's amazing how, through awesome timing and mood (if not by the actual meaning of the lyrics), it manages to give [[JerkWithAHeartOfJerk Kelso]] one of his most human and sad moments.
* The Old 97s' song "Question," played over Carla [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDUK_h_jxxQ finally accepting Turk's proposal after several days of dithering.]] "Ask me again."
%%* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ASJBXu8tNo "Boston" by Augustana]] in the ending of "His Story III".
* There's weird, difficult to describe incidental music playing during JD's fantasies. It's highly evocative and suits the show to a tee.
* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOqtnU2faTc The Janitor's]] [[DeathGlare "Evil Eye"]] is accompanied by the theme song from ''Film/{{Koyaanisqatsi}}''. It's surprisingly fitting.
* "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqnxCY75bCE Close Your Eyes]] by Young Love plays at the end of "My Happy Place". The lyrics and tone of the song overall have a very uplifting and heartwarming feel, befitting JD and Elliot officially getting back together.
